Most people identify her as the "small girl with dark hair". The description is actually fairly accurate. Syd stands at only five foot and weighs around a hundred and twenty pounds- but it varies depending on how much food they have in the house. Her hair color is a light black/dark brown. Even with such a small stature, she isn't easily seen as weak. At least once she opens her mouth, your opinion would probably change. She just doesn't look like one of the friendliest people ever, she's one of those people that you stay away from.
Sydney is manipulative. She knows just how to wrap you around her little finger, and then how to exploit every weakness, every chink in your armor, and how to use them to her advantage. It's a great skill in every way possible, at least for someone living the type of life she is, but it doesn't allow her to get very close to people. Instead, all she knows how to do is use people. Rather than looking for the good or bad in people, she assesses them by the different ways she can use them, and writes them off or invites them in depending on varies levels of usefulness. This allows her to be a good leader though, making her much more able to get things done. She doesn't let her emotions effect the way she leads a group, instead focusing quite solely on how useful they really are. It makes her completely unbiased.
Sydney is also quite the impulsive liar, half because she doesn't like people knowing anything 'real' about her, and half because she's somewhat addicted to it. Syd lies so well, and it's because she makes herself believe her own lies. She has a great memory, so remembering her lies is never difficult for her. Syd had a bit of an inferiority complex, which makes her act completely the opposite. She acts like a cocky, arrogant bitch, while on the inside, she doesn't believe that at all. Having people love her, it makes her feel good, but she never believes it. Lying to make people like her, that makes her feel better, but never will it get rid of her self-doubt and partial hatred of herself. She takes this anger out on others.
She is wary of other people, unable to handle her emotions fully so she normally just assumes everyone is out to get her. Incredibly intelligent, Sydney lacks any people skills and is incredibly awkward in a group. This awkwardness always leads her to act annoyed or angry at the people around her, which in turn makes people dislike her. It's a rather unhappy cycle that will likely never stop, and this causes her to like being alone, or one on one where it is easier for her to control her surroundings.
