✫ History ✫

Troy was born and raised in the small town of Lakeside, Ohio. His home life was normal outside of the power outage incident and he casually lived the life of the towns Star QB - hope for all Lakeside athletes since he managed to bring in some of the biggest college scouts around. However he disappointed an shocked the small town by bowing out of his scholarship half way through(at 19) and joining the Peace Crops.
Now at 23 he has left the town more times than he can count, desperate to start a regular life away from the stares, sympathy, an odd fan-fair some in town dish out. However something always pulled him back to his place of birth - or in some cases chased him back.
This time it was the latter. He had managed to pull off a normal existence in the city of Houston(TX) as a Krav Maga instructor for nearly a year an a half before a pair of Government agents tracked him down. He was caught after being forced to use his powers in an alley way one night in defense of his longtime girlfriend - something the Government caught via street security cameras an amatuer YouTube footage(that thankfully most don't beleive).

So he was again forced to leave the life he had made outside of Ohio and the girl he had managed to fall in love with(fearing for her safety if she came with him) before he fled the state of Texas.
Ohio wasn't his first destination, but after losing the agents in Oklahoma thanks a bad accident where one died and the other was gravely injured, Troy was again pulled back to his safe haven of Lakeside, Ohio.....he needed the always wise and forever blunt guidance of his folks - something he hated to admit. But never has he come so close to being captured, so it was obvious the Government was stepping up their game, which made him realize he had to talk to SOMEONE about it - so why not start with the parents who were always understanding.

I figured I'd start with him JUST coming back to Lakeside, a bit bitter but determined. =)

✫ Family members ✫

+ Mother - 60 - Town Mayor. (If that's okay, if not, apoohy on me! lol)
+ Father - 66 - Gym Teacher and local Eskrima & Krav Maga instructor.
+ Younger Sister Emi - 16 - Star Cheerleader & Class President, pain in the ass when mad but generally a good kid.

I'll explain what clothing he's wearing in the RP as we go along, and I'll also make mention of any weapons there. I'm thinking he won't need much weaponry though with his powers to move whatever is around him - as well as his Martial Arts abilities xD)

So begins...

The journey home was far more complicated than usual. Knowing the government was hot on his trail Troy chose not to fly from Texas, an instead took his rental car on the road, however after the accident in Oklahoma the last thing he wanted to do was be seen on the road in the same rented convertible. So he diverted to Tennessee, took a flight to California, caught a train to Wyoming, Hitch hiked with a trucker to Missouri, then caught a ride with a kind but talkative older couple on there way to NYC. They went slightly out of their way to drop him off at the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport to pick up his truck, however they didn't seem to mind - as long as he covered the cost of the extra gas.
By the time he got his lifted '87 Silverado from the back of the airport on the road heading towards home, it was a quarter until eleven.

The ride to Lakeside was pleasant, like always, and with his windows rolled down and his Classic Rock at near max he was almost lost in the peaceful scenery all around.....however when the "Welcome to Lakeside" sign appeared ahead he was snapped back into reality and quickly turned down his radio.

"Imagine that, nothings changed." he muttered as he passed by the first General Store and then approached the local Junkyard, with the only thing out of place being a group of motorcycles on the side of the road up ahead. He didn't think much of it though and would of passed by them with little thought if it wasn't for the harsh ping in the back of his mind that caused him to suddenly slam on the brakes.

"One of them is here!"
He'd stare sharply past the bikes to his right an into the woods, before again muttering to himself.
"Not one, two!?"
A flood of emotions suddenly came over him as he stared somewhat aimlessly into the trees.
Fear, confusion, rebellion, freedom, just to name a few. But as the empathic ability started to become too much Troy quickly clinched his eyes shut and looked away from the wooded area, an a honk of a car behind him would jar him back into his senses. He knew that he had to talk to with the rest of "The Four" - as the town usually called them - to warn them of the governments sudden interest in them, but for now letting his family know he was back in town was first on his mind.
So after a quick shake of the head he'd mash the gas pedal and continue on his way into the center of Lakeside.

"I'm sorry, the Mayor isn't back yet, but I can take a message."
Troy heard his mother's middle-aged assistant say as she typed away. She hadn't bother to look up from what she was doing so it was clear she didn't recognize him.

"I know my jeans are a bit new and my shirt isn't as worn as what was I usually pull off, but you really don't recognize me Kim?"

"Troy! Oh you're a sight for sore eyes!! I'm sorry dear, I'm just in repeat mode with everyone who enters this office since your mom left early this morning."

After a hug an a bit of irrelevant chit-chat Kim would explain that his mother had left town with his father and the Sheriff to return a local criminal to a small town a couple hours West - his mom going as a show of diplomacy while his father simply went along for the ride. They left a little after six in the morning, and with business not being conducted in the town they were going to until Monday - thanks to a local celebration - they found themselves staying for three days.

"Three days? Really, just to make nice with some locals?"
"You know your mother, she feels bad for the havoc that boy caused on their town. Apparently he scared the wits out of a bunch of women home alone. That aside though, It's really nice to have ya back....I'm sure your sister will be glad to see you - she's out sick from school so you'll see her when you get home. "

"Sick you say?" he'd repeat with a small smile, not believing it for a second, before standing, saying his goodbyes, and then heading to his favorite local hot-spot - Gigliano's Bar, home to the only real Italian food for hours.

Within seconds of entering the bar he spotted a bubbly blonde texting a mile a minute while a waitress placed a medium pizza pie down in front of her.

"So, you look pretty healthy to me." Troy said with a smirk, before taking a seat across the way from his sister Emi, who dropped her phone in shock as she looked up to see him.
"Troy!! You're back!? Oh my God it's been like - forever!" she'd let out, before jolting up and giving her brother a long hug.

She'd then scurry back to her chair and begin to pull a slice out from the pie.
"Don't think that I missed you or anything though, because I so didn't."

"Yeah okay, so who are you meeting here? I know you wouldn't risk getting in trouble by skipping for no reason."
Emi rolled her eyes as both her and brother bit into a slice of pizza, an after a few moments of silence she'd jab back.
"Well why don't you just read my mind and figure it out!" she joked, knowing full well he'd never invade her personal thoughts.
"Besides, the brother who decides to pick up and leave without visiting for nearly two years has no room to judge!"

The two would swap jabs and stories until the pizza in front them was gone.
Emis guest never showed, so after paying the tab the pair climbed into Troys truck and headed towards their parents beautiful colonial on the outskirts of the woods several minutes from the center of town - windows rolled down as usual while they blared the local Country Music station all the way home.

Star remained very silent, slowly blending into her surrounding, nearly becoming invisible. She felt a weird tingly feeling and the number 4 bounce around inside her mind, with the faint pulse of the number 1. Confused, Star decided she didn't want to stay here. Star could teleport anywhere in a 5 mile radius, so, not wanting to be seen, she decided to pop out of the forest. When she emerged on a road, the tingling grew worse, except she could only make out the number 1 in her mind. A man no to far away form her had stopped his truck and was staring aimlessly at the woods. Seeing as Star was still camouflaged, he wouldn't be able to see her. Whenever she glanced at the man she got the weirdest feeling. Almost on instinct, she decided to find out who he was.

But before she could show herself, he suddenly pushed the gas and was speeding away. Star concentrated and teleported onto the bed of the truck. Not wanting to cause a scene to any cars passing by, Star transformed into a simple blue-jay. It was painful and slow, but better than getting spotted on the roof of some guys car. All the while, the odd feeling radiated from the number on her neck. The guy had gotten out and went into a house, but came out a little later and drove to a bar.

Curious, she transformed back into her normal self and entered the bar, grabbing a seat at the counter, close to the guy and a girl who faintly resembled the man. She guess maybe they were siblings. And judging by the conversation, they were. Suddenly, a comment sparked Star's interest. ""Well why don't you just read my mind and figure it out!"

Could it be true? Weirder things have happened. And what was with the weird feeling? Shaking her head, she realized the guy was leaving. Star didn't have any money on her so she couldn't pay. Felling guilty, she teleported out of there, hoping the bartender didn't see her teleport.

But Star had missed her target. She didn't teleport where she thought she would end up. Instead, she teleported right in from of the guy that just left. Letting out a startled scream of fright, She backed up, nearly tripping to the ground.

Troy and Emi were in a petty debate over a song on the radio when a woman suddenly appeared in the middle of the road in front of them.

"Look out!"
"What the - hold on!"
The siblings yelled out in unison before the truck suddenly veered off the road, coming to a stop in a narrow ravine mere inches from a rickety fence.

"Damn, are you okay?"
"What the hell! Did you see that? I didn't just imagine that did I, she appeared out of -"
"EMI! Are you okay?"
"Yea yea yea, I'm fine! But did you see that girl? She just-"

Troy would tune his sister out after he was sure she was alright, he wasn't being rude though, it was just that ping in the back of his head - it was back.
"Number Two" he muttered, before stepping out of his truck and walking toward the girl in the middle of the road - leaving his sister calling out for him in confusion.

It had been a long time since he laid eyes on the other three gifted residents of Lakeside, however he could feel without a shadow of a doubt the closer he got that this was indeed Number Two who stood somewhat shocked in the middle of the road after nearly getting hit.

"I hope you're okay." he'd say with genuine concern as he walked up the ravine - both hands shoved in his front pants pockets. He'd stop a few feet from her before speaking again. "I would make some reference to how it's not wise to walk in front of a moving car, but I think we both know walking wasn't really a factor here."
The silence between the two would build for a moment before the sound of his sister approaching caused Troy to turn his head around.

"Lady what's with trying to kill us?" the sassy sixteen year boasted as she placed her hands on her hip, but her brother was quick to try and talk her down.
"She didn't try to kill us, stop being a brat."
"Excuse me!? Did you just forget where we had to walk from? THE SIDE OF THE ROAD!"
"I know, it's not that simple though......"
"What is it then!?"

He would of preferred getting a good nights sleep before running into one of "The Four", however no one had quite perfected the art of going back in time yet, so he'd sigh deeply and scratch the back of his head unconsciously before responding.

"It's her ability, is it not?"
Directing the second half of his comment to the girl now instead of his sister he'd take a couple steps closer to her.
"You're Number Two, Elizabeth Starling. Your mark, it's on the back of your neck."
Another brief moment of silence would occur before he introduced himself as "Troy Matthews"
It was possible she knew who he was by his name but he'd telepathically confirm his Number to her anyways by casually placing his hand on her shoulder for only a second.
Touch Telepathy was far easier on his psyche than normal methods, however it had its down falls, which is why he touched her for only a second - any longer and he would been flooded with not only random thoughts from the person he touched, but he'd feel their current emotional state, something he hated.

"I've been sensing you for a while now, so I know you're following us, question is - why? You could of just said hello."
His sister was left scratching her head, figuratively, as Troy began to smile

(I just realized that we have to same first name)

Spitfire grumbled as she texted Cyrus. One of the keys wouldn't work. Spitfire frowned in frustration as she pressed the glass, hard. It shattered and it broke into a million little pieces. "Dammit!" Spitfire exclaimed, throwing her phone at the ground. It made an indention in the ground. "Oops," She winced as she picked it up carefully. Spitfire knew it couldn't be repaired. She held a flame to it until it turned to ashes. "There, no one needs to know," Spitfire exclaimed, dusting off her hands.

Spitfire kept walking. It was getting chilly. "I better head home," She grumbled. Her leggings got stuck on a thorn, shredding it. "Ugh!" Spitfire untangled the mess. The leggings had ripped at her ankle. Spitfire sat down and pulled out a safety pin and held the leggings together. "I;ll just throw these away, and it'll all be good," Spitfire exclaimed. She walked along and got out of the forest. She tried to start up her motorcycle, but it made a horrible sound. "UGH!" Spitfire kicked it in frustration. A huge dent appeared. Spitfire hit her head as she tried to bend it back to shape. She looked up, it was pretty dark on the road. Even if she got it in working order, her headlight was shattered now.

Spitfire groaned as she started to walk her bike along. "This will take FOREVER!" She yelled out, scaring a few birds away. Spitfire could feel an intense warmth growing in her head. She quickly blew on her hands, which had started to smolder and smoke. "Ugh!" She cried out in frustration.

Star was about to teleport out of there, but the guy walking towards her asked if she was okay. That wasn't something someone who almost crashed would say. Instead, he'd likely be spewing profanities and shouting at her to get out of the middle of the road. Instead, he asked if she was okay. Star turned her head in confusion, unsure what to do. "I would make some reference to how it's not wise to walk in front of a moving car, but I think we both know walking wasn't really a factor here."

Star froze in place.

How does he know I could teleport? Does he know about my shape-shifting too? And invisibility? Surely he couldn't know about the force-feeds. I didn't use any anywhere near him. And why do I get that weird tingly feeling and keep thinking of the number one?

Star stepped back a step, ready to put up a force-feild if necessary.

"Lady what's with trying to kill us?" the girl in the truck said.
"She didn't try to kill us, stop being a brat."
"Excuse me!? Did you just forget where we had to walk from? THE SIDE OF THE ROAD!"
"I know, it's not that simple though......"
"What is it then!?"

At that point the guy turned to her. "It's her ability, is it not?"

Yes... But how does he know this about me? Where is he getting this information?

"You're Number Two, Elizabeth Starling. Your mark, it's on the back of your neck."

Star reached her hand up and touched the mark on the back of her neck, tracing the outline. The mark, and her purple eyes were the only two things she couldn't change when shape-shifting. He then introduced himself as Troy Matthews. The name bounced around in her head, sparking a faint memory of the Blackout. Troy Matthews...

Suddenly he put his hand on her shoulder and she flinched away, a weird tingly feeling spreading on her shoulder where his hand was. It sort of felt good, but Star had major trust issues. However, a sudden thought that she knew was true echoed in her mind

This is Number One. I am number Two.

Star frowned. Does that mean I can trust this guy? Four... four? Are there four of us? The blackout? Why can't I remember any of this? How does he know this? thoughts flooded her mind and she took another step back trying to process things.

"I've been sensing you for a while now, so I know you're following us, question is - why? You could of just said hello."

Why had she followed him?

"I didn't know who you were. I just got this weird feeling like I knew you, but I had no clue who you were. Which begs the question, how do you know me? Which one of us is the stalker here?" She asked, laughing nervously, trying to lighten the mood. "We probably should get out of the middle of the road," she said. Without thinking she teleported to the side of the road. Realizing what she had done she quickly turned invisible. Wincing again, realizing she should probably just stop. Turned visible again she turned to Troy.

"Sorry... I'm not the most social person. And I don't normally show what I can do to other people... but I think I can trust you. But how did you know that stuff about me? Are you a mind reader or something?"

Troy laughed a bit under his breath at her sarcastic mention of him being a mind reader.
"Yeah, something like that."

Without much more than an unconscious nod of the head he'd begin to walk back to his truck.
"Where are you going!?"
He didn't notice his sisters question as he walked back towards the truck and set the gear to neutral, since his thoughts were elsewhere. He was wondering if he should tell Elizabeth everything so soon or wait, however it didn't take very long for him to come to his conclusion to delay such a conversation, as he pushed the front of his truck out of the ravine and back on to level ground.
He would finally throw the truck out of neutral then wave his sister over before walking back towards "Number Two"

"Maybe we could meet up later? Say, around noon tomorrow at Giglianos on Main St....the same place you were spying on me at earlier. I know you probably have questions, an I can try to answer them then, but for now-"
A huge burst of thunder rang out from the clouds and finished Troys statement for him; The side of the road really wasn't a good location for an important conversation anyways, yet alone in the midst of what looks to be a bad storm.

"Oh my God it's about to pour cats and dogs!!" Emi would say before opening the door she was leaning on and getting back inside the cab of the truck.

"Something tells me you can get where you're going a lot quicker yourself than riding in my old truck, but still - would you like a ride home?"

If she took him up on his offer he'd let her slide into the cab first before sliding in himself and then heading off in whatever direction she said to go.
If he wasn't taken up on his offer though Troy and his sister would continue on to their own house - just beating the rain.
With nothing else to do for the rest of the day the two would probably watch movies until it was dark, they were sick with one another, or just plain tired - the latter being more likely for Troy since he hadn't gotten a goods night rest since leaving Texas.

Star pondered the question. Teleport home, or get into a truck with a guy she just met who seems to know more about her than she does. The answer was simple. "Sure," she said to Troy, walking over to the truck and the bubbly, and rather impatient, girl was waiting inside. Up close, Star could see striking similarities between the girl and Troy. If they weren't siblings, she would be surprised.

Star climbed into the truck. Literally. Being as short as she was and as tall as the truck was, it took her a little effort to get into the seat. Star then sat in awkward silence as Troy climbed in, too, sliding in next to her. Being this close, she could feel his arm brush up against her own, which sent tingles up her arm.

"My house is down by the lake. Keep going along this road until you see the 'Lakeside Pier Ahead' sign. Then you turn right and I'll tell you where to go from there," She said "So.. you can call me Elizabeth if you want. But most of my friends call me Star." A grand total of two friends...

Star looked over at Troy, taking in his appearance. Star tended to do this with everyone she met in case she ever had to shape-shift into their appearance. Star had to admit, Troy was very attractive. His hair was a mix of streaks of blonde and brown. His jawline was very defined, but in a good sort of way that suited his face. His mouth was perfect. His smile was brilliant and his eyes were striking. Bright sky blue. Star was disappointed she would never be able to replicate them, her purple eyes would always stay the same. He was tall and fairly muscular.

Star suddenly caught herself staring and looked away, taking one last peek at his eyes. "How did you know that stuff about me? You knew my name and I've never even met you before. Have I?" I surely would have remembered him... especially those eyes.

A scientist's light footsteps echoed down a long hallway. The echoing continued until the scientist stopped at a door, clipboard in hand. Voices could be heard inside and the scientist entered a number onto the keypad on the side of the door. A small beep sounded from the keypad and the scientist opened the door.

"This is a global catastrophe."
"There is only four of them. It shouldn't be that hard to do!"
"Sir, you don't understand their capabilities. I suspect that the four of them combined are even more deadly than an entire army."
"Then single them out, capture them one by one."
"Send in a SWAT team"
"Air force."
"Spies?"
"It's not that simple. We don't know where any of them are. The last we heard, Subject 1 was in Texas. Now we've lost his location."

At that, the scientist spoke up. "Excuse me," he said, interrupting the Director of the project, an FBI agent, and several other higher up government officials. "We've just received notice of an abnormal spike in Radioactive and/or supernatural chemical activity in the general area of Northern Ohio. This spike in activity could be the cause of the Four."

"All four subjects? Where in Ohio? Are they together?"
"That is unknown. We only know they are in Northern Ohio"
"I will a group in air force to scout out Ohio in sections, looking for strange activity."
"Any report of strange activity and we will send in SWAT teams,"

Again, the scientist interrupted. "Excuse me, again, sorry."
"I would like to send in Subject 5."

As they started to drive down the road Troy tried like hell not to pry into her thoughts, but after using touch telepathy on someone it was always hard to control the telepathic connection at first, so subsequently he'd wind up smiling a bit as she made mental notes of him and his sisters features. It was an interesting mix of uncomfortable and flattering overhearing such things, it's one thing when a beautiful woman says it to your face, it's completely different when she's thinking it to herself and you just so happened to over hear it. Nevertheless he had to catch himself before he complimented her back.

"How did you know that stuff about me? You knew my name and I've never even met you before. Have I?"

"Possibly, but I doubt it....you're kind of hard to forget."
Emi would roll her eyes and kick her feet up on the dashboard as her brother continued on.
"I learned about you and the others a while back when I was first tracked down. It's a long story that really isn't meant for a ride down the road, but in short - there's four of us, each with varying abilities and numbers marked on our bodies, an apparently there are a lot more people who know about what happened to us the night of the blackout than we thought."

The truck would come to a stop outside of what he knew was her house. He hadn't allowed himself access to what she was thinking for miles, but instead had mentally envision her house seconds after she had given him directions.

"I know some of what I'm saying doesn't make sense," he'd begin, while shifting in his seat a bit to look directly at her.
" -an I also know some of what I've mentioned are things you've probably assumed remained within your family all these years, but I can explain myself better tomorrow, over lunch."

Troy would reach behind his seat for an old umbrella before opening his door and hopping down to the bumpy road below. "Also, for the time being you might wanna watch who and what you teleport in front of, so here - let me walk you up to your door."

The rain wasn't falling too hard, but it was steady enough to make an already unsafe jump from the truck to the ground pretty treacherous, so he'd hold his hand up to her and wait for grab it before helping her down.

"Be right back." he'd call up to Emi before shutting the door.

The umbrella might of been old but it was huge, so as long they hurried to her front door they could stay relatively dry.

The rest of the day was likely a goner thanks to the weather, but at least he found one of the three he was looking for, an after lunchtime tomorrow hopefully he'd have a partner in tracking down the rest of "The Four."

Before he'd leave he would offer to pick her up for lunch tomorrow - that is if she accepted the invite.

Star kept rolling the information around in her head, trying to get a grasp on what she had just learned. They are four of them, She is number two and he is number one. When they reached her house, at the back of her mind she wondered how they had found it, because she hadn't told them any more directions, to involved in her own thoughts and what Troy had said. She brushed it off, wondering what Troy's abilities were. Maybe he had a really good sense of direction or something.

Star climbed out, taking Troy's hand. Just touching his hand sent a shiver down her back, which was most likely because of the weird feeling that spread from her neck, where her number was. He almost seemed familiar, like someone she had known forever. Yet she had never seen him before.

Ducking under his umbrella the tow of them quickly made it too her front porch, the overhand above her keeping them both dry. It was then that he offered to drive her to lunch tomorrow. To which she agreed, but she decided to have some fun. Focusing, she copied everything about him, from the last hair on his head to the clothes he was wearing. She shape-shifted completely into Troy. When she was done, they stood face-to-face, her purple eyes peering into his blue ones. And then mimicking his voice exactly, she said "I have one condition though. You have to answer one more question. What is it that you can do? Clearly you know about my teleportation and now shapeshifting. Tell me something you can do," She said with a smile, his smile.

Troy's eyes widen a bit as Star suddenly shape-shifted into his near-exact twin. It was an ability he knew she had but still - seeing an exact copy of yourself looking back at you in the flesh was a lot to take in.

"I have one condition though. You have to answer one more question. What is it that you can do? Clearly you know about my teleportation and now shape-shifting. Tell me something you can do..."

"Wow, this isn't awkward.." he'd say sarcastically with a curious smile before glancing over to his truck, where he'd notice his sister was staring out the window - shock and confusion written all over her face, however he'd quickly look back at Star and begin to stroke his chin.

"So it's quid pro quo is it? Well-"
Troy would take a few seconds to think of something, before suddenly letting go of the Umbrella and slipping his hands into his pockets, but instead of crashing to the group the Umbrella began to float in place - bobbing up and down slightly.

"I can move or stop things, control them in a sense, by just thinking about it."
He'd go silent for a moment....before lifting not only himself, but Star, a couple of feet off the ground in unison with the umbrella.
"Anything with mass, from the wind to cars on a highway, I can move.....it's called Telekinesis. So there's one thing you now know about me, Star."

Troy would grab the umbrella again as he lowered them back to the ground.
"So now you have to take me up on my offer, for lunch, so that I can tell you more about the others - and me. You probably don't wanna show up looking like this though, might scare some of the folks around here with that face." he joked.

Once again the Umbrella would be left to hover above Star. "You can keep this, I'll be fine."
And without another word he'd jog back towards his truck - releasing his telekinetic grip on the umbrella only after she chose to grab hold of it herself.

"What the HELL was that!?" his sister let out as he pulled himself up to the open door and waved quickly back at Star before climbing inside - drenched.

"That, is shape-shifting."
Troy would close his door and start up the engine just as his sister hit him on the shoulder.

"Don't be a smart ass, I know what it literally is, but how did she-"
"-she's like me Emi; gifted, weird, lucky, or cursed. The word changes depending on who you ask."

Once the vehicle was turned around and the two were on the road again he'd tell his sister everything, from him being tracked down in Texas to the other two he was still looking for. It was a relief to unburden such a heavy load of information, but he was also aware it could now put his sister in the line of fire if ever someone wanted to find him, but then again all of The Four's family members were already in the line of fire by simply being related to someone the Government was willing to do anything for.

Telekinesis? So cool. Star was already shifting back to her normal self when Troy lifted her in the air, using telekinesis of course. A smile spread on her face. This guy was awesome. As her feet touched the ground again, she grabbed hold of the umbrella and thanked Troy. And with that, she was gone.

She was of course, now inside her house. Why she didn't just walk through the door was questionable, but she teleported in because her door was locked as it normally was and her keys were no where in sight. Her house was two story but small, very small. It consisted of one bedroom, one bathroom, one tiny little kitchen and a small living area with a TV that never got any channels worth watching. It had old pieces of furniture and stairs crammed into the back of the house that were steep and rickety. In short, her house was tiny, cheap, but her own. She lived alone. Her father died when she was three, a car accident took the life of her brother, and her mother disappeared in the blackout. So, with a small job being an assistant to a magician in a show that was always preformed at the Hoover Auditorium in Lakeside, she made a little money and bought a house. It was rough at times, but with a little thievery which she is not proud of, she managed on her own until she got a real job.

Star went to her fridge, and fried up some eggs for a very late dinner, softly singing one of her favorite songs. Her life was simple. Lonely, but simple. Don't get involved and people don't acknowledge you. Nobody suspects you could do something like turn invisible or teleport. Was she being stupid, talking to some as unique and... different as her? Sighing, Star climbed into bed, thoughts of Troy swirling her head.

By the time they got home the rain clouds had become so heavy it almost looked like nighttime outside, not mid-afternoon.

"Scary movie time!" Emi said excitedly as she flounced down on the couch. "But first, show me.."
"Show you what?"
"Everything you can do now! When I saw you last you could throw a clock at me from across the room and tell me what I was gonna have for breakfast before I made it, but now-"
"-I can still do the same things."
Troy jokingly caused the wall clock by the door to shoot across the room - stopping it only a foot from his sister face, where she'd grab it as he sat down in the nearby loveseat.

"I'm serious! You said you've been practicing!"
"Learning, not practicing."
"Same thing, gosh why are you being such a pain!"

The two would go back and forth for nearly fifteen minutes before Emi just gave up and turned on "Wrong Turn 5."
Movies would consume the rest of their day and the two would eventually pass out where they sat.

Waking up at around 2am Troy downed a beer an a cold slice of pizza before trying to wake his sister, but after two unsuccessful tries to get her up he'd forget about it and slowly make his way up to his old bedroom - where he'd again pass out, fully clothed.

"I can't....breathe." Troy thought to himself, surrounded by darkness - confused. Then suddenly he'd hear a voice....a familiar voice. "Emi?"

"Harley! They're you are, get down boy!"
His sister would quickly pull the family's five year old 190lb English Mastiff off of his chest just as he began to open his eyes.

"Emi? What the-"
"Sorry sorry, Harley like bulldozed into your room - couldn't stop him. You should get up anyways though, it's almost eleven!"

By the time he'd push himself up from his bed his sister would be chasing Harley out of the door.

"I swear that dog weighs more than me now..." he'd complain as he stretched, an after standing in place for a moment scratching his the back of his head he'd make his way into the bathroom for a shower.

Forty or so minutes later Troy would jog down the stairs to see his sister lounging on the couch with Harley. He was fully dressed in a pair of jeans, a black fitted t-shirt, and black boots, which made Emi correctly assume he was on his way out.

"Off to your little lunch date huh?"
"It's not a date."
"Uh-huh, sure. Bring me back back a calzone please, dear brother that I love so much!"
"No can do, dear sister that I love so much!." and with that he'd head out the front door and towards his truck.

The ride to Stars place was a lot quicker without the blinding rain, so being ahead of time Troy would stop and fill his tank before continuing on - arriving at her place a quarter 'til noon, where he'd honk the horn then hop out of the trunk to meet Star on the passenger side to help her up, even though he was fully aware she could just teleport herself into the cab of the truck, it was just an old habit he picked up from his father that he couldn't break.

Star woke up to the annoying alarm clock beside her bed. It was six in the morning but she wasn't exhausted. Star was a morning person and went jogging to the pier every morning. Today she felt a little sluggish though, from coming home a little later than normal. However, Star slid out of bed and started her morning routine, eating breakfast, jogging, coming home, spending some time with a punching bag, and then taking a shower. Star also took a self-defense class in the afternoon on tuesdays, karate on wednesdays, and boxing on thursdays. Star was so small so she made an effort to always be able to defend herself, especially knowing what abilities she possessed. If anyone figured out what she could do, she would need to defend herself.

It was at noon that Star heard the honk of a horn from outside. At the time Star was reading a book, wearing one of her favorite outfits. Star put down her book and peeked through the windows beside the door. Troy's truck was parked in her tiny driveway, looking out of place. Star locked her front door and teleported outside, not bothering to grab her keys. She was met by Troy at his passenger side door. Star was going to teleport inside the truck to save herself the embarrassment from crawling into the truck, but troy helped her up and she graciously accepted his help.

Star couldn't help herself and stole a glance at his eyes. They were just so... blue. Star almost envied his eyes. Pulling her eyes away from his, she buckled up and waited as Troy got into the truck, too. The ride to the restaurant was short and Star spent it sitting quietly, questions formulating in her head, often glancing at Troy's eyes and entertaining herself by turning her hair different colors. When they got to the restaurant and were seated, Star couldn't contain herself.

"Ok. Now talk. How do you know all this stuff. How did you know who I am? Where did you earn this stuff about there being Four of us. What happened during the blackout? How do you know this stuff and not me?" The questions kept tumbling out of her mouth and once she was done she sucked in a breath and sighed.

Spitfire opened her eyes. She groaned at the thought of sunlight, and seeing it was even worse. Suddenly, losing her balance, she fell out of the tree she had slept in. The ground was muddy, and she ended up falling in a big mud slick. "AH!" She let out a shriek as she stood up and slipped again. She sneezed, setting her sleeve on fire. She scuffed it out and shivered. Spitfire felt crappy. She was still damp from the rain. Now she would be walking, homeless, damp and mud covered to who knew where. Sadly, the mud would only dry over time. Looking back at the direction of her house, she shook her head.

Spitfire looked up at the bright sun that was blinding her. She put her hand in front of it, shielding her eyes. She slowly moved her hand from the sun, slowly getting used to the light. Once she was used to it, Spitfire started a slow jog through the forest before she came to the sidewalk, her feet slapping the ground. She let out a fit of coughing followed by some sneezes. She hugged herself as she ran along. She wanted to go home, but that meant defeat, giving up. And now that she had been really kicked out, there was no going back. She couldn't stay with Cyrus or Tom, that would put them in too much danger. Besides, they had themselves to take care of, and they could barely do that.

Spitfire fumbled through her wallet. There was a mud-soaked five and three twenties. That was enough to get her food for about three or so days, considering she would eat gas station food and maybe they would let her inside a McDonalds if she cleaned up a bit. Her stomach growled loudly. If she was at home, she would be eating some yogurt and granola, sipping on iced tea and she logged onto online college. That was never her home. Her real parents weren't there, just a crabby old lady and a slob who were still better then the rest. She moved her fiery red hair back. There was an uncomfortable crick in her neck. Rubbing it, she sighed. "I guess that's what happens when you sleep in a tree," She muttered.

Once she reached a bus stop, she sat down on the bench. Most likely, she couldn't afford a bus ride. Suddenly, an old rust bucket made the climb from a hill up to the bus stop, then halted to a stop. The tinted windows rolled down, revealing an unwelcome sight. Recognizing the car, Spitfire tried to cover her face with her knees. A loud laugh came from the girl, who roughly moved her legs aside. "There you are freak! I told Tom it wouldn't be long until your mother kicked your pathetic ass out," Another snicker came from beside her, one of her stupid friends. Spitfire huddled up some more. "Aw, what's wrong freak?" Tom's girlfriend, Kelly, kept trashing her before Spitfire had enough.

Spitfire suddenly stood up without waring. She punched Kelly in the face. "AH!" She screamed. "My nose! My nose!" She cried as she was beaten to the ground, Spitfire hitting her nose constantly. Her friend backed up in horror as she spied Kelly's nose. It was bloody, and the skin was raw, thanks to Spitfire's strength. "Next time, it won't be your goddamn nose!" Spitfire yelled. She started to run, leaving the two girls to shriek over her nose.

Spitfire trudged along. Spying a stray hoodie, she snatched it up and put it on. It was bright red. She looked pretty odd, almost walk of shame-like. She shoved her hands in it and put up the hood, closing it up so far you couldn't see her face well. Spitfire sat on a bench next to an old lady waiting for someone to pick her up. The old lady started to go on about something that Spitfire could care less about. Once a car appeared, the old woman ran towards it and they drove off. Spitfire saw something on the ground. It was a wallet. She looked inside. It was the old ladies', but there was no way to track her down. Spitfire grinned at the sight of cash. She pulled out enough money to buy herself some lunch and headed into a restaurant. She still had some mud on her clothes, but the hoodie covered it.

Once she was seated, Spitfire looked around. She could see everyone seated, filling up the booths. None of them were alone. There was an old couple, a family of three, a family with five kids, etc. She waited for someone to ask for her order when she saw a car pull up. She watched intently as she saw something strange. Did that girl's hair just change? Spitfire rubbed her eyes, shaking her head. She was probably just tired. After she and a guy got seated, Spitfire let out a loud sneeze. She quickly patted out the fire her sneeze had started. Hopefully no one saw, and no one seemed to. Spitfire let out a sigh of relief.

Troy couldn't help but snicker under his breath at her rapid fire questioning.
"Take a deep breath or you're gonna pass out." he'd joke, before getting up and placing an order at the counter for a large cheese pizza - leaving an anxious Star in the wind for a few minutes longer. It was then the smile on his face would begin to disappear, as a ping in the back of his mind alerted him to another of the four's entrance into the restaurant.
"You've gotta be kidding me..." he thought to himself before paying for the order up front.

As he walked back to his seat he'd catch a glimpse of the Red head who had just entered but made a point not to stare, before sitting back down at his booth with Star - several tables away from where the girl who just entered sat and far enough away from all the other patrons so that he could explain things in Private.

"I don't even know where to start...."

Troy would eventually start from the beginning, sharing the fact that he had an initial connection with all of the four the day of the Blackout soon after they were "changed" forever. He went on to tell Star to dismiss all the wild theories of world-wide power grid failures due to solar rays, Martians, Big Banks, an so on.

"It's the Government, I don't know why us or more importantly how, but I do know who. For the first few months after the Blackout I had a telepathic connection with a man named Timothy Hopkins, I think he was a crucial part of the team behind this experiment gone wrong? I don't think he was aware he was linked to me though an I don't know how or why he was. But-"
Troy would stop when he noticed the waiter bringing over their Pizza, an after taking a few bites out of a slice he'd begin again.
"-I over heard things he was thinking, nothing that made sense at the time but over the years I've reflected on a lot of it and come up with some theories."

He shared some of his memories with her, about how Timothy Hopkins seemed to regret the role he played in the Blackout, and how he constantly heard Hopkins apologizing and trying to come up with ways to fix all the things that "went wrong".
"Sometimes I thought he was trying to talk to me directly as a kid, but when I think back it's likely he had no idea we were telepathically connected....from the things he said I don't even think we were the ones meant to get these powers, and were just accidentally affected when whatever controlled experiment they were doing went haywire. Of course these are all speculations on my part, I wish I could ask him but oddly enough I stopped hearing his voice four months exactly after the Blackout, and no matter how hard I try I can't reconnect with him.
Nevertheless, I should skip to Texas....

For the last couple of years I've been in Texas teaching Krav Maga, just trying to be normal and start a life with....her."

Saying her name still hurt, after nearly two years he had started to see himself being with her for the long run, so when he was forced to call things off so abruptly it hit him hard.

"But I was fooling myself, I knew something would go wrong.
A month ago, I used to my Telekinesis to deal with some thugs in an alleyway an apparently it was caught on a security camera an uploaded to of all places - YouTube. Thankfully most people think it's a hoax - minus conspiracy theorist, and someone - probably in the Government - is doing a good job at continually deleting the video from all over the internet, but it was enough for them to track me down and begin stalking me. Things came to a head when they broke into my house, we weren't home at the time thankfully but the place was ransacked, and soon after I found myself having to dodge Men in Black - no pun intended. It was obvious they wanted to bring me in by any means - or take me out trying, so I had to leave everything - an everyone.
I took an insanely out of the way route back home so I know they didn't tail me, but who knows how long it'll be until they find out we're here."

Troy would briefly go over the accident in Oklahoma and his trip afterwards before waving the waiter over to ask for a beer. After downing nearly half of it he'd look back up at Star and force himself to smile in an attempt to calm her nerves some if need be.
"I owe a lot of my knowledge about you guys to that initial connection I experienced as a child. I wasn't able to actually envision you guys telepathically or understand the information within my own memory though until my own abilities began to strengthen an I understood how to control them, which happened several years down the line. That Hopkins guy also fed me random information that I still haven't fully made sense of, but after Texas I knew I had to find the rest of you guys and warn you. I don't have any grand plan after that to be honest, I don't know if we should stay or go at this point. I do wish I could connect with that man again though, I feel like he's the key to all this."

He'd let the silence build for several seconds before nodding his head slightly to the side, towards the woman that entered the place shortly after them.

"I'm guessing you sensed her enter right? That's number four - Elizabeth Wendall, or Lizzie I believe. I didn't think it would be this easy, it's like I'm a magnet or something."
Troy tried to laugh at his own joke but the weight of everything he had just shared with her was still lingering.

"I really wasn't trying to track you all down in a day, but maybe the sooner the better? I don't know, what do you think?"

Adam Dawson

Walking down main street Adam in a great mood, he held his deck of cards in his hands and was performing basic cardisty absent-mindedly. His messenger bag swung slightly by his side as he walked. His aim today was to ask around and see if there was any part time jobs available anywhere. As he performed a one handed fan he grabbed the attention of a girl who was on her phone, stood outside of a restaurant. She was wearing a shirt that had the name of the branch sewed into the heart. As he stopped walking and returned a smile a sudden feeling hit him, much like the one he experienced yesterday in the woods. Rubbing his forehead he took a quick look inside the restaurant, it was packed full.

Turning back to the girl who must have been a waitress he began talking. "Hey, name's Adam, I'm guessing you work here?" he asked while shuffling his cards.

"I'm Lucy," she put her phone in her pocket out of politeness, "Yeah I pretty much just got this job. Why?"

Trying to ignore the slight buzzing in his mind that was getting stronger Adam carried on, "I was just if there are any more places available actually, I'm out today looking for a part time job." He shuffled his cards once again without looking.

"I think I took the last spot unfortunately," she looked at his hands shuffling his cards and then looked back up, "Sorry."

Adam wasn't surprised, there seemed to be a lack of any luck coming his way today as he'd been turned down everywhere he went. "It's fine, I'm sure I can go and work in the mines." he said jokingly. He noticed she took and interest in his cards and took the opportunity like he always would. "Would you like to see a trick?"

"Okay sure." she said with a smile.

Spreading out the cards Adam suppressed the weird feeling he had in his mind as his wrist started tingling. "Okay Lucy, pick a card, literally any card." after she grabbed a card he shuffled, "Now memorise that card for me." fanning the cards out he watched her put it back into the deck and saw as it protruded out of the back of the deck once he squared it up. Performing a cut he was happy her selected card had reached the top of the deck in such a small amount of time. Smiling as he performed a few false shuffles he thought up a new trick on the spot. As someone tried to get past the two he slid her card into his hand and gestured for them to move, placing the card in her pocket as he politely moved around her. After a few more shuffles he fanned the cards out and spoke. "Okay, do you see your card here?" he asked with a smirk.

"No it's not there." Lucy said as she looked at the cards.

"That's because you are looking in the wrong place, take a look in your left pocket." The smile on his face was huge now.

As she lifted out her selected card she put her hand over her mouth in awe. "How in the world did you-" she was cut off by the door opening beside her and another member of staff coming out.

"Lucy we needed you back in there five minutes ago, get inside and keep an eye on the time next time." he said sternly, giving Adam an agitated look.

As she gave him back the card she walked inside and the door closed, leaving Adam with the itching wrist and fuzzy feeling in his head. He turned slowly and watched his feet as he carried on walking down the road.

Star slumped back into her seat, her short stature being almost consumed by the huge booth seats. Star sat staring at her glass, and a half eaten piece of pizza on her plate, trying to process what Troy had just said. If it was true that these people were hunting them down, then they needed to leave Lakeside. She had lived here for awhile, surely there would be some records on her by now. She would have to leave everything behind... A frown slipped across her face.

However her thinking was cut short as a tingly feeling spread across the back of her neck, the same feeling she felt around Troy. Someone else was here. One of the Four. Star turned in her seat, glancing around the room, her eyes finally finding the red haired girl who use entered. She looked a little torn up, and muddy. Star could see the mud that soaked her shoes and bottoms of her pants, and there was a streak of mud on her face that she didn't seem to have seen. Star immediately knew that this was Number Four. Troy confirmed what she was thinking. What could Number Four do? Shoot lasers from her eyes? Breath underwater? Lift things five times her weight?

Star was pondering this when a sudden thought struck into her mind. Star turned back to Troy. "Wait, you overheard someone think about this stuff? So you are a mindreader?" She asked. Then she did what anybody else would do in her position. She practically screamed her thoughts, forming a sentence with her thoughts, trying to test this. she thought "If you really can read my mind, then tell me something only I would know." Star almost felt silly doing this. How could somebody possibly know what she is thinking right now? A realization hit her. Embarrassed, Star blushed, recalling everything she had every thought near him. About his eyes.... Star squeezed her eyes shut. He was likely reading her mind right now. Star's face went bright red and she looked down at her pizza again.

Troy just stared at Star as she appeared to be be contemplating everything he had told her.
Finally, after what felt like forever, she spoke.

"Wait, you overheard someone think about this stuff? So you are a mind-reader?"
It was obvious she was embarrassed at the idea he could read her thoughts, so he'd attempt to calm her nerves.
"Yeah I'm sorry, I guess I wasn't all that clear about myself. I'm telepathic, empathic, an I have telekinetic abilities to top it off....which has a ton of subcategories but yes, I can read peoples thoughts. But I don't! I mean, I don't go around invading peoples minds whenever I feel like it, I have a lot more control than that an I'd go nuts if I did that anyways. I wasn't reading that Hopkins guys thoughts, they were being fed to me, by him I guess....but I'm not sure."

Just when he finished talking there was a ping in this back of his head, AGAIN.
"You've got to be kidding me...." he'd mutter under his breath before turning around and spotting, of all people, Number Three.
Troy would sink his head into his hand for a moment and sigh. It was almost laughable to him how he managed to stumble across all three of the people he was looking for within 24 hours, but perhaps his joke earlier was the truth, an all four of them WERE attractants for one another unconsciously.
It was after that realization that he knew things had to come to head now, sooner than later, because the quicker they were all aware of the incoming threat an on the same page, the better. Unfortunately by the time he raised his head up again Number Three was gone.

"Star, I have to go after the guy who just left, that was Number Three. Can you keep can eye on the muddied red head a few tables away sitting by herself? Believe it or not her names Elizabeth, and she's Number Four. If she tries to leave, find a way to keep her here, okay? I know I just threw a ton of info on you and I'm asking a lot, just trust me, I owe you!"
Before she could respond Troy would jump up and run out of the front door.

It wasn't long before Troy spotted the guy he was after and slowed his pace when he realized he had no idea what he was going to say.

"Hey, I'm Troy, would you mind coming back to this restaurant with me? I promise, I'm not a weirdo!" he'd think mockingly.
Troy would drag his feet for a minute before finally taking a deep breath and calling out to Number Three, several yards up the road in front of him.

"Adam, Adam Dawson?"
Troy would again start to jog towards the kid until he was only a few feet away.
"I know you don't know me but can I talk to you for a second, please, it's kinda important."

Spitfire, completely silent, as she waited for her food. ONe of the servers came to her with a small mini pizza. The cheese oozed over the crusts, the smell reaching her nose. Her mouth watered. She hadn't realized how hungry she was. Devouring the pizza in only a few minutes, she wiped off the oil dripping down her chin. Her stomach still rumbled. Spitfire laid some money down, including a tip and ran into the bathroom. She stood at the mirror, grimacing at her mud-covered clothes and the streak on her face.

Spitfire grabbed a paper towel and scrubbed at her face, the dirt crumbling into the sink below her. She looked around, then decided that her hair was too ratty to leave unwashed. She turned on the hottest setting of water. If she was going to deal with any water, it would have be as hot as possible. Her hair slowly weighed down with the weight of the water. She smiled as her scalp felt cleaner by the second.

Spitfire grabbed her soaking hair as she turned the water off. She crouched under the hand-dryers, her hair moving around. Once it was dry, Spitfire, feeling hot in the hoodie, took it off and examined herself. Her tank top was mainly clean, expect for a small dash of mud on the lace. Grimacing, Spitfire moved her hair to cover it. She stared at the ruby ring on her middle finger. Out of habit, she twisted the gem, revealing the small blade that Cyrus had built in her favorite ring. Twisting it back on, she walked out and back to her table to make sure the waitress got her money. She did. Spitfire walked towards the door.

Star finished her pizza, watching as the muddied redhead, Elizabeth, Troy had said was her name, tear through a mini pizza. It looked as if she hadn't eaten in days. For all Star knew, she hadn't. Homeless maybe? Or just having a rough day? It didn't seem like she was homeless, she just looked a little muddy. However, the way she ate the pizza was disgusting, and Star turned back to the table, peering out the window to see if she could spot Troy. she didn't so she picked up her drink and took a sip before turning back around to see if the redhead was still there.

Star turned her head from side to side, looking around. Elizabeth was gone. Star stood up suddenly, panicked she had lost her. However, a streak of red hair caught the corner of her eye. Star turned to see the redhead disappear into the bathroom. Star took a deep breath and set back down. Looking at where Elizabeth had sat, she noticed money on the table, which meant she would be leaving. Star thought fast, thinking of some sort of reason why Elizabeth shouldn't leave. Troy had asked her to keep her here, so Star would. Star smiled, and idea occurring to her.

Nobody was paying attention to her, so, she dropped her fork under the table intentionally. Ducking down, she shape shifted fast, it was painful to shape shift faster than normal, but she didn't have much of a choice. When she bent back upright, clutching her fork, she was the spitting image of Troy. Catching Elizabeth in his sight again, he stood up, and crossed the room, blocking Elizabeth's pathway to the door. What would she say? What would Troy say? Clearing her.. uh, his... throat, she/he finally came up with something. "Um, I hate to be intrusive, but can I talk to you for a second?" she said with an exact impersonation of Troy

Star motioned to the seat she was sitting at, a couple pieces of the pizza Troy and her were sharing early sitting on the table. Star sat down where she was sitting earlier, hoping Elizabeth sat down too.
