Ridley Shay

No, I'm not related to Spiderman. No, I'm not some Russian spy. So, stop asking!

a character in “Freaks Galore”, as played by HOLYCRAPAGHOST

Description

If You Look In This Cage, You Will See Black Widow.
Image
They Were Born Under The Name Ridley Shay.
They Are 19 Years Old.
They Are A female.
They Are Here Because she can walk on walls and spin web. She can also create venom. She has white skin, but her entire torso is covered with a shiny black material that starts at her toes and stretches to her collar bone. A large red mark in the shape of an hourglass covers the entirety of her back, like the black widow spider. She has sharp teeth, with two long fangs that excrete venom..
They really enjoy eating, sleeping, crawling on walls, reading comic books, playing video games.. They Really Hate being asked if she's apart of the Avengers, being deprived of sleep, being subject to too much attention.
What Really Scares Them Is large crowds.
Their Story Goes Something Like This. When Ridley was born, she was immediately placed into Intensive Care. She was born with an insufficient immune system. Her father, a brilliant scientist, spent the better part of Ridley's childhood trying to develop a serum to give Ridley the immune system she needed. At the age of 11, her father injected her with a serum, developed from spider blood. The serum seemed to work, until Ridley lashed out attacking her father. She bit him in the neck, unknowingly injecting him with her new venom, killing him instantly. She escaped the hospital and found herself at the zoo. She's been there ever since.
Even If They Are Freaks, They Have Personalities... Ridley has been trapped in the ICU of a hospital her entire childhood. She was a real life bubble boy. She was used to be alone, and managed to find some way to entertain herself. She enjoys reading, especially comics, choosing to believe that she could become a superhero if she wanted. Although, she strongly dislikes being asked is she's related to Spiderman. She enjoys video games and computer games, but at the zoo she doesn't have as many luxuries. She usually spends her day sleeping, spinning webs, or eating..
Wait! One More Thing! Ridley's exhibit is popular with young boys and extremely geeky older men..
Moving on to our next freak...

Writing Sample?

Ridley continued walking along side the road, her thumb sticking out, hoping someone would pick her up. She felt like she had been walking for days, her feet hurt. She was starving, and she just wanted to lie down. She had just recently escaped the hospital that she had called home for her entire life. She didn't know where she would go, but she had to get out of there. After attacking her father, she was sure she was wanted by the authorities. She continued walking, hoping someone would take pity on a young girl, when a red truck finally stopped on the side of the road. She glanced at the man driving. He smiled at her, not a creepy smile, but one that put Ridley on edge.

He leaned over the seat and opened the passenger side door. "What's a little girl like you doing wondering the side of the roads?" He asked.

Ridley didn't say anything, but carefully climbed into the truck. She was tired, she didn't feel like talking. She closed the door and buckled up her seat belt. "Where ya headed?" The man asked.

"Anywhere," Ridley sighed closing her eyes. She just wanted to get away. She didn't sleep very long, before the truck had skirted to a stop. She jolted awake, looking over at the man.

"Hasn't your daddy ever told you never to get in a car with strangers?" The man cooed, a smile stretching along his face. Before Ridley could react the man had sprang forward. What kind of man attacks an eleven year old!?

Ridley tried to kick him off, but she couldn't maneuver as well with her seat belt still on. "C'mon sweetie," He cooed again. "It won't hurt at all. It'll be fun."

Ridley cried out scratching at the man's face. He caught her hand, pulling her forward pressing her to him. Without much thought she bit down on the man's neck with her sharp teeth. He cried out, trying to peel her off of him. Ridley stayed latched on until she felt the man slump against her, dead. Ridley kicked him off of her, quickly undoing her seat belt and falling out of the truck. She found herself at what looked like a carnival or zoo. She walked up to the nearest door and knocked on it several times. "Please, help me!" She cried.

So begins...

Ridley listened as Jack slowly called closing time, the chatters of everyone as they were pushed out of the zoo. She smiled as people passed and couldn't help but blush when she was Sebastian. He winked her, shouting out a promise to see her tomorrow. Did he know that they were going to Vancouver? Once everyone was gone, Jack came to the center of the zoo, not bothering to hide his emotions.

He was pissed. Obviously. He promised to see her, Ebony, Arabella, and Lillith later, which didn't surprise her. She glared back at him, no longer showing fear towards him. Sure she was scared, but he couldn't kill them. At least not Ridley. She was one of the attractions that brought in a lot of people. She wasn't sure about the others, she never really paid attention to crowds.

Fearing Jack was pointless, although that's what he wanted. Ridley refused to show fear, especially to a man who used violence to get his way. "What do you think we're in for amigas?"

She heard Ebony ask. She shook her head sighing. "Nada beuno. Algo horrible, estoy seguro."

(Nothing good. Something horrible, I'm sure.)

“I have some friends back at art school who are really quite blunt, so it's alright. Both of you are lovely by the way, you make an interesting set of music. Tribal electric, or something." The man said.

Ara immediately stopping following what he was saying when her ears heard art school. Ara and Lilith had lived most of their lives either here or in a scientist’s lab and so they had no experience of the outside world. It made Ara a dreamer of life outside and Lilith a realist, only accepting the life she knew. “Art school, what’s that like?” Ara said dreamily, she was always trying to understand the world outside more, it helped her daydreams come to life.

Lilith rolled her eyes at her sister, Lilith could never understand why Ara was so fascinated by the outside world. It’s not as though they would ever get the chance to experience it. Something the man had said did peak her interest though; “Music?” She asked not understanding what he meant when he talked about their music, it made no sense to her.

The Owner’s voice boomed over the loud speaker before the man had a chance to respond to the two curious sisters. "I'll be back, you two are interesting," He said before disappearing out of their view.

Ara and Lilith watched the spot the man had left for a few moments in silence before Ara decided to ruin one of the only moments they had where they weren’t fighting. “Hear that? He said he thinks I’m interesting and Lovely.” Ara said proudly, only ever choosing to hear what she wanted to.

“He said we both are, and since when did you take what people said at face value.” Lilith said snidely worried the Ara’s head might get too big to allow them to leave this cage.

“He said ‘both’ out of politeness, and since people have started having nice things to say.” Ara replied instantaneously while sporting a smug smile. Why did Lilith have to ruin everything good that ever happened to them? Lilith opened her mouth to respond before she saw The Owner walking down the path between their cages sporting one hell of a scowl. Ara looked over at her sister when she didn’t get a response and noticed The Owner also. She took a step up to the bars dragging Lilith along with her, she was determined not to show him how he really made her feel.

“But let's not forget my fruits. Talking back isn't allowed here, thought you would've have learned that by now." The Owner said stopping to look over them both over thoroughly. The sisters both didn’t look away at his gaze or flinch, they would never give him that satisfaction. Though they were holding hands with each other behind theirs backs out of view.

"Widow. Jetta. Blueberry and Strawberry. Expect to see me later. I'm not happy. Not at all."

Ara had to swallow the sudden urge to roll her eyes. Sure she was terrified of what was to come but seriously the whole waiting in fear had gotten old after her first 2 years here. Ara waited until The Owner was completely out of view before letting go of Lilith hand and turning to say something to her sister. She was cut off before she could get out a syllable though.

"What do you think we're in for amigas?"

Ara couldn’t see Ebony cage but she knew from the voice and foreign word that it was her talking. Normally she would have responded but this time she took a moment to think about which response to pick out of the many she had to that question. Ridley answered in some foreign language; Ara never bothered to remember which one they all spoke.

“English Ridley.” Ara chided playfully trying to lighten the mood, no point worrying about what would happen in wouldn’t change anything. “I think it’ll be the usual, maybe a little worse, he was quite angry. It’s not the first time me and Lilith will be punished for talking back and a can assure you it won’t be the last.” Ara said in what she hope came out as a thoughtful answer.

Lilith listened to the conversation going on before, nodding slightly at some comments, not really having much to say. “So we never got to talk to the new Doc, what was she like? And Ridley, what did you think of the French guy?” Lilith said not really caring all to much about the current topic. Though she was interested in the new Doc, and the French guy. Lilith doesn’t like being caught off guard and likes to know about people, what they say, how they act. She likes to know as much as possible so she can act accordingly.

"English Ridley."

Ridley smiled hearing Arabella chastise her. She usually did. "Nothing good. Something horrible, I'm sure." Ridley repeated in English.

"I think it'll be the usual maybe a little worse, he was quite angry. It's not the first time me and Lilith will be punished for talking back and I can assure you it won't be the last."

Ridley smiled. All four of them have been punished before, and isolation wasn't too bad. It was actually nice to be away from performing. It was strange to feel completely normal for a change. She couldn't even create venom. Timothy liked to visit her when she was in iso. It was the one time she couldn't hurt him in anyway. She was no longer a spider. Just a sad excuse of a woman.

It was the only time Timothy came to check on her vitals and such. If she had a broken arm, she wouldn't get it fixed until she had a stint in isolation. Which was usually shortly afterward, since she couldn't perform. But sometimes she would go weeks without any sort of medical attention. Avarella was definitely a good hire then. If it meant Ridley could actually get treated before something gets infected like last time.

"So, we never got to talk to the new Doc, what was she like?"

Ridley smiled at Lilith's question. It's like they new what she was thinking sometimes. "She's nice. She doesn't know how to act around us though, so go easy on her. She's nervous."

"And Ridley, what did you think of the French guy?"

Ridley couldn't help but laugh at the mention of Sebastian. "He has a neurological disorder."

Dawn sat there, staring at Herrick as everybody else began to talk. She then frowned when he didn't answer and tried to tune into what the others were saying, but all she could hear was them talk about people that had visited them. With a sigh, she began to talk to the others.

"Seems like you guys were the ones that drew attention today." She said, craning her neck so she could see Ridley. "After all, it seems you and Ebony got to see the Doc. Oh, and you, Arabella, and Lilith got to see some French guy. Vielleicht bin ich immer weniger beliebt." The last part was in German, (a language she was almost positive nobody but herself spoke) and she said it so the only people that could hear her were the ones in the cages closest to her own. It was a joke, but no matter how much she hated her routines and costume, there was still a pang of disappointment that the audience was apparently growing bored with her.

She stood and walked to the back of her cage, allowing herself to be engulfed in shadows once again. When she was positive nobody could see her, she flew up and sat in the crook of her tree again. It was the same position as before. It was then (when she looked at the door) that she realized something.

"It seems that Jack is keeping us in our cages instead of letting us walk around. He must be really mad, freunde." Dawn still never left the shadows nor her tree, just yelled it out so it echoed around her cage and out into the square.

(1. Maybe I'm growing less and less popular. 2. He must be really mad, friends.)

"She's nice. She doesn't know how to act around us though, so go easy on her. She's nervous."
"He has a neurological disorder."

Lilith had opened her mouth to respond to Ridley when Dawn spoke up to them all. Ara looked over in disbelief at Dawn’s cage. “Do you not remember that delightful boy/girl, not really sure, who wanted to draw you?” Ara said almost sourly, was not going to get sucked into Dawn’s pity party.

Lilith watched her sister talk; she honestly had no tack. “Chin up Dawn, your our most popular act.” She said in the kindest voice she had, which was not very kind before turning back not Ridley. “Do you think The Doc will see our side?”

Ara’s ear picked up on Ridley comments and she immediately forced her way in. “Sorry, Riddles, I don’t do easy. Though a neurological disorder eh? Well, I suppose you’d have to have one those to want to see some mutated freak in a cage.” She said.

Lilith glanced at her sister’s comments before brushing her off, her comments were stupid and unnecessary. Just because Ara was not going easy on the new Doc didn’t mean Lilith would either, she hated that general assumption. Lilith only hoped Ridley did the same; ignore Ara’s contributions to the conversation.

There wasn't a lot of performing going on today, either. Quite a lot of chatting, don't you agree, Zero?" Herrick refused to acknowledge Jack, for he knew that he was right - not much performing today, just a lot of talking, and he was one of the worst. What most people didn't know was that if the main stars didn't perform as well as they should, Jack considered it a bad day - even if the new ones tried their hardest. It was the philosophy that Zero had read before - if a few mess up, the whole group is 'punished'. With Zero being one of the main attractions, Herrick knew that he did worse than poorly today, and the rest of the group may pay for his mistakes. However, then again, Dawn, Ridley and the Twins didn't do that well either. Today was brutal, for no other better word.

And Zero wouldn't have had it any other way.

For once in a long time, a small smile grew onto his lips on its own, not induced by book, or any real form of memory. Just thinking of the day made him smile, and that was just about it. However, his smile slowly faded back into a solemn and lonely stare, and he closed his eyes to listen to the other freaks reconnect with their fellow cage-dwellers, and the conversations were interesting to say the least. Dawn had addressed the cages around him - The Twins and Ridley - about their large popularity for the day. The twins then decided to poke fun at what sounded like a sketch artist that came to draw Dawn's picture. Somebody had drawn Zero's picture 8 years ago and 305 days ago - the man decided to draw two and give Zero the other, which he still had. Dawn also spoke in a language he had read about - German, from the country of Germany - capital, Berlin. He couldn't speak it at all.

As usual, Ara was being a more positive speaker and contributer to the conversation, Ridley was just doing her own 'thing' as they called it and Lilith sounded as sour as ever - the comment to Dawn wasn't an indicator that she was being happy.

Herrick decided to push everybody's voices out of his head and began to close his eyes, deciding that the freaks wouldn't talk to him, so there was no need to further engage in the rest of the day.

Arabella and Lilith were at it again, and Ridley rolled her eyes in annoyance. She liked the twins, but sometimes she couldn't handle the constant back and forth between them. It was cute sometimes, but often answering one of their questions spurred them into their own world. You might as well have never been there.

Sighing out of boredom, Ridley slid down at sat against the wall, her head leaning against the bars. She could hear Dawn speaking in German, but she was too far away to hear her exact wording. Decided to get a little bit of sleep before being beat to death, Ridley closed her eyes.

She was actually hoping to get isolation. Maybe then she could be left alone and get some proper sleep. She loved sleeping on a web, but sometimes she got called and it was impossible to try and find a blanket. God forbid you ask Jack to show some sympathy. Especially towards the freaks.

You might as well ask him to do something without some sort financial gain.

Ebony

"So, we never got to talk to the new Doc, what was she like?"

After listening to Ridley's report and the twins comments, Ebony added weakly,
"She's super nice you guys. She seems to care a lot about our well being, and after I told her about ese hijo de puta Jack, she doesn't seemt o approve to much about how he treats us. So at least try to be nice?"

Ebony then spaced out for a few moments, considering her day.

As Ridley, Ara and Lilith began a conversation while Ebony was thinking, she decided to speak to Dawn instead. She never really talked much to the winged girl, but they had had some pleasant conversations before, and Ebony felt a need to reassure her of her popular spot more convincingly than the twins had.

"Don't worry Dawn, you had a much bigger crowd for your shows than I did for my one! And at least you had a visitor, I just putted around and injured myself." She laughed a bit, attempting light humor.
"Hey what language was that?" The lizard teen was curious. Despite the fact she was fluent in Spanish, having grown up in Mexico, she had never really heard any languages except for Spanish and English. Anything about countries outside of America interested her, seeing as she hated this country. If Ebony had her way, she'd be off in Greece, or Japan. Alas, not feeling accepted, her she was until further notice.

As she waited for Dawn to answer her, Ebony climbed carefully up her cage bars towards the chain, testing out her brace. If she shifted her weight onto onside and elongated her torso, she hardly even felt it, or her injury. Unless she bent. Well, let's just say she wouldn't be bending for awhile.
She spiraled into a sloth like position, able to relax fully, adhesive hands and feet coming in handy. As long as she didn't concentrate on stopping them from producing their gel in her pores- something akin to sweat, but integrating her first few layers of skin, like liquid glue that hardened and unhardened when she grabbed and let go of things- she could hang easily from anything without paying attention.
Ebony grimaced, thinking of her ribs. Well, usually without paying attention, though sometimes her lack of presence would put her body under the illusion she wasn't grabbing anything, and her 'glue' would unharden.

She also wasn't worried about loosing blood in her limbs. Experimentation by her had shown that despite various positions she put herself into, blood would continue to flow, with a slight heart increase. Unless she bent herself in a way that cut off circulation. Then she'd get pins and needles.

Dawn shrugged at what the others said, not like it really mattered to her at this point. She was already drifting off to sleep, slipping in and out of unconsciousness. She was too busy worrying about Ridley and all the others, and when Jack would come, but after a couple of minutes she forgot about it all and fell asleep completely. But right before, she said one thing.

"Good night, fruende."
---
Jack stood in his office, the moon outside greeting him when he peered out the window. Hopefully, many of the freaks would be asleep by now. That was exactly what he wanted. He pushed open the door to his trailer quietly, before stalking off to find his disobedient freaks. His footsteps made little to no sound as he stopped in front of the first cage. Ridley. Glad to see she was asleep. He pulled the key from his pocket and unlocked the door, slowly sliding in and standing in front of Spider Girl. Perfect.

He literally grabbed her arm and dragged her along. If that didn't wake her up, then when her head hit off the metal gate did. He ignored the faces that were still awake, peering out to watch as he dragged to another trailer. This, is what the freaks called the punishment trailer. It was an appropriate name, because that was exactly what happened. And with a smirk, he dragged little spidey in behind him.

"You won't be leaving her without a couple bruises."
-
Almost twenty minutes later, he was drawing a lock on a door, which held a now normal Ridley inside. He peered in the window, seeing her completely lose all of her spider enchantments, before continuing on. Now to find Jetta.
(Good night, friends."

Taylor

Kitty cat's awake. Taylor's eye flick over, narrowed and analyzing. She glances to him again then the sky, only sleeping for about an hour. Before wondering what woke her up, Jack stole into the zoo, stopping in front of Ridley's prison cell.

Taylor leaned forward, watching in horror as the spider girl was dragged from her place, head already injured in the process. Glaring to the bars hindering a rescue, Taylor let out a low, menacing moan of anger, teeth sharpening under the moonlight, eyes black.

Ridley didn't deserve this. None of them did.

Leaping to the bars, he began pulling on them in a frenzy, mind clouded over with blood lust and instinct. Jack's heart beat was steady as ever as he pulled Ridley inside the punishment trailer just out of eye shot. Taylor let out a frustrated bellow, then realized there was nothing he could do. Tearing himself away from the sight, he dove back into the tank, soaring to the bottom and curling up there, glaring outside the glass past the cat girl's bars to where he could just see the edge of the trailer and its wheel, moving a bit here and there as the punishment was doled out.

He was going to get out of here. He was going to take everyone with him.

Katerina closed her eyes. She could hear everything and prayed that sleep would come upon her. It didn't. She remained awake through the entire beating of Ridley, hearing every smack, slam, yell, and any other audible noise there was. A tear or two rolled down her cheeks. She never could sleep through the tortures.

She never was beaten by the owner, not yet at least. That being said, she was definitely not a stranger to being beaten. Due to her appearance, her father beat her constantly. She would often go to bed bloody and bruised. It wasn't until he pulled a knife out on her that she finally fought back. But she didn't want to think about that. All she wanted was sleep. At least until morning.

Timothy awoke at the sound of commotion going on. Sounded like the Boss Man was on a rampage again. Ah, damn it. He dragged his ass out of bed, not realizing how long he'd slept in his normal clothes. He grabbed his medical kit and walked out to the Punishment Trailer. He pulled out his keys and opened the door to find Ridley, not Spider Girl, but a normal Ridley. She wasn't nearly as creepy in this state, especially since she was beaten and battered. The Boss really didn't hold back. He locked the door behind him and set down his medical bag.

"I guess you're not so scary now, are you Ridley?"

Timothy never really made puns or gave stupid nicknames when it came to treating the freaks in the Punishment Trailer. As far as he was concerned, as long as they were in there, they were actually people. Still, his sympathies only extended so far, and he never went as far as thinking that what his Boss had done was wrong.

"Let's see those injuries. We gotta have you in ship-shape by the time the Boss Man lets you out."

Ridley felt like shit. More so than usual too.

Jack had really laid it on her thick. Her face felt tight from the forming bruises, and she couldn't sit straight without her back snapping and collapsing underneath the weight. She took in deep breaths, pushing her bloodied hair out of her face.

She sat in one of the isolation rooms, her body entirely changed. Her black exoskeleton had melted away revealing normal white skin. She had been thrown an old tattered sweater to cover herself up with, but it laid crumpled in the corner, untouched.

She held back tears, not wanting to show any sign of weakness, but her body hurt so much. She jumped at the sound of the door sliding open. She quickly moved to cover her body, but she cried out in pain from the injuries. She wanted to make a web and hide herself, but she knew she couldn't. She was completely helpless.

"I guess you're not so scary now, are you Ridley?"

She hissed at him, but knew the threat was no longer there. Her fangs had shrank back to normal size and her venom ceased. She crawled back, careful not to reveal too much, and grabbed the old shirt. She quickly put it on and cowered in the corner, not wanting to be touched.

"Let's see those injuries. We gotta have you in ship-shape by the time Boss Man lets you out."

Timothy always confused Ridley. He was always so mean and harsh to them, but the moment they were in isolation, he turned into a different person. Like he actually cared about them. She knew it had to do with the iso chamber, and how it made them completely normal. She just wished he would realize that they were always like this. They didn't choose to become their mutated forms.

"Why bother? Jack'll just beat the living shit out of me again in a week." Ridley grumbled. "Regardless of whether I perform or not. He likes the beat everyone at least once a week. Just so show that his the dominant one."

"Yeah, I know. It sucks. But life isn't fair, even a little, to anyone. Especially not outcasts. So let me treat you before those wounds get infected or scar."

Timothy pulled out disinfecting wipes, bandages, cold compresses, and a suturing kit. He started with her face. It was puffy and swollen, with a few bloody patches. He wiped the whole thing down with a disinfecting wipe.

"I know it stings, but try not to move."

He pressed the cold compress to the larger bruises to stop the swelling. With one hand he applied pressure to the compress, and the other opened up the suture kit. The needle in the kit was curved and thin, and the sutures themselves were barely visible. Next to the needle was a small syringe, with a crude label beneath it reading "Pain killer" in Timothy's handwriting.

"There's a cut on your forehead that's gonna fester if I don't stitch it up. Hold the compress to your face while I get the needle set up."

The wipes did sting, but Ridley just stared at the ground un-moving. She was so used to the constant bruises and cuts, that she barely felt it anymore. She followed Timothy's directions to press the cold compress to her face.

She held it, her body aching at the movement. She watched him prepare the needle for her stitches. This wasn't the first time she had to be sewn back together. She was often left with open scars after Jack's beatings.

Ridley sighed. She had heard Timothy's spiel about life being unfair and blah blah blah. She was practically sick of it. Who was this guy to talk? He wasn't born with a insufficient immune system, and his father didn't create a serum our of spider venom, and thusly got himself killed.

She could feel her tears starting to form, which was exactly what she didn't want to do.

Timothy was just about to stitch up Ridley when Ebony was literally thrown into the trailer. God dammit, her ribs could've been broken. He put the disinfected needle back into the kit and propped up Ebony against the wall. He examined the brace, which had shifted out of place and revealed that the bruises had discolored.

"Aw crap. Keep holding that I've pack kid, I've got to deal with her for a second."

He pulled the brace off and shined a light on the bruises. They were puffy and purple; they were getting worse. Probably from being tossed into the trailer. Tim sighed and pulled out the pain soothing gel again. He would have to apply both bandages and a brace this time. He smeared on the gel and then wrapped her up in bandages just tight enough do she couldn't bend her back. Then he buckled up the brace again.

"Jesus Christ. You're not gonna perform for quite a while, missy. You may need to stay in isolation for this to heal properly."

Timothy turned back to Ridley.

"As for you, you lucked out. At least you'll be able to stand properly. Now let's stitch you up."

He disinfected the needle again for good measure. He pulled on Ridley's arm to inject a pain killer into it. Then, he rhythmically pulled the needle back and forth until the wound was nothing but a row of stitches. He wiped off the cut with a wipe and smiled at his work.

"There. You'll be back in the spotlight spinning webs in no time. Unfortunately for me."

Ebony

Ebony had just started to relax when she heard the door to her cage opening. She barely had time to prepare before she was being brutally dragged from her cage. Usually she might be able to suppress her screams, but her aching wrist was being twisted painfully, not to mention her ribs were slamming hard into whatever she was currently being pulled over. She blacked out for what seemed like a moment, awaking again when she was thrown, literally thrown, into the familiar dark trailer. She groaned, not having the strength to push herself up, when she was suddenly moved to prop against the wall. Ebony let out a strangled squeak of pain, lolling her head and opening her eyes to see hardly anything. No night vision now. She squinted and could see Timothy prodding and exaiming her ribs. She couldn't feel anything- she was in so much pain, spiking from those ribs that she was numb.
"Jesus Christ. You're not gonna perform for quite a while, missy. You may need to stay in isolation for this to heal properly."

Ebony bit her lip to keep from hissing as bandages were wound tightly around her abdomen, then the cursed brace was put back on. She hated this. She couldn't see in the dark that was usually so bright to her, couldn't climb on anything,- even her flexibility was less than perfect. Not that she could exactly bend right now. She groaned, tilting her head back against the cool wall. At least she liked dark spaces. Being alone was another matter, but she could deal with the dark.
She noticed the light from Timothy's flashlight next to her, and brought her head back down, ignoring the pain in her neck. There was Ridley, looking quite worse for the wear, though Tim was now patching her up.

"Oh hey Rids," Ebony muttered, voice feeling sore. It was amazing how a single spot of agonizing pain could effect her entire body, though she assumed she had been mildly injured all over, due to being dragged.
"That cabron got you to huh." Ebony said to her, then was overtaken by a blind anger. She remembered Ridley spoke Spanish as well and switched to her mother language, just so Timothy wouldn't understand this bit of her speech. Her tongue, though feeling like cardboard in her mouth was able to roll out a speech of rapid fire Spanish in seconds.
"Estoy cansado de esto. Golpes de Jack es que quiero decir. Animales reales son tratados mejor que nosotros. Incluso si no hacemos nada malo, que va a elegir a alguien para vencer en cualquier caso. No puedo seguir con esto. Tan pronto como yo soy mejor Ridley, me voy y tú y quién más podemos conseguir que vienen con. O eso, o nos hacemos cargo del zoológico. Yo no se."
(I'm tired of this. Jacks beatings is what I mean. Real animals are treated better than us. Even if we do nothing wrong, he'll pick someone to beat in any case. I can't do this anymore. As soon as I'm better, Ridley, you and I, and whoever else we can get, we leave. Either that or we take over the zoo. I don't know.)

Ebony sighed, not expecting a response due to Ridley's current state. She herself was now feeling very tired, overcome with the pain in her body. Whatever Tim had done wasn't exactly making that feeling go away.
"I'm going to sleep." She announced, voice strained. She didn't care if she wasn't supposed to, didn't care about anything at the moment. Just her fatigue and her pain.

Ebony was already spitting out obscenities in Spanish, not wanting Timothy to hear what they were talking about. Ridley smiled at her words, happy to have some company while in isolation. It's not really isolation, Jack, if you put more than one person in the same room.

"Relájese Ebony. Sueño por ahora. Hablaremos de escapar de la mañana."
(Relax Ebony. Sleep for now. We'll talk of escape tomorrow.)

Timothy had finished stitching them up, and did another check over of Ebony, before leaving. They were alone now, just two freaks. Until Jack threw the twins into the room, or the one next door. Ebony announced that she was going to sleep, and Ridley decided to do the same.

She sighed, trying to get into a comfortable position on the uncomfortable floor.

Timothy listened to the two freaks jabbering in some foreign language. He shook his head and picked up his medical kit. He'd done all he could, for now. He knew the twins were in for it, but he wasn't going to worry about it until they were in Isolation. It wasn't so much isolation since others frequently came and went, but he didn't let it bother him. It was time to wash up and get some more sleep before he was inevitably called back to care for the twins. He never liked caring for the twins; it always felt like he was being tag teamed by insults. He didn't have enough twin puns to keep up.

Timothy reached the employee trailer and unpacked his medical kit for washing up. He only ever felt truly calm when he was sanitizing his tools of trade. As he cleaned and disinfected his needle kit, replenishing the pain killer as well, he thought about his Boss. Damn, he didn't think he'd be so hard on the lizard girl since she was already injured. He knew Jack didn't want any casualties (he would never risk losing money), so why did he act so carelessly?

Before he knew it, his tools were clean. He repacked them and changed into clean scrubs in the bathroom- green scrubs this time. He almost always wore scrubs, just in case he was ever needed. He finally realized that Nixon was there too, having fallen asleep filling out forms. He chuckled slightly and shook his head. Reminded him of his college years.

Ridley found herself waking up several times throughout the night, but she would always somehow fall back asleep. She woke up, probably the sixth time, this time unable to fall back asleep. Her arm was starting to fall asleep, sending uncomfortable tingles throughout her body, making it difficult to find a difficult to find a comfortable position.

She sat up, her back aching and cracking as she moved. Ebony was still asleep, thankfully. The young girl had gotten beaten pretty harshly, and even then her ribs were broken, she needed sleep.

Ridley chanced stretching her arms above her head. Her back screamed with pain, but the release of pressure in her arms was definitely needed. She pushed herself up off the ground, wondering if she could even walk with how bad her back was.

She could, thankfully. She paced along the room, waiting for Jack to release her. He had to. She was a popular exhibit, and many costumers came just to see her, he had to let her come out.

Ridley looked over at Ebony, still sound asleep on the ground, her body curled into her self, and then looked back at that door. She had to get out.
