6’1
Weight:
”I like to keep in shape. The running helps though.”
170lbs.
Fashion Sense:
”I just wear what feel right. Nothing more, nothing less.”
Jay is always dressed casually. Half destroyed shoes, ripped grey jeans, and a variety of tees. What he’s wearing at what people think about his clothes don’t bother him at all.
Scars | Tattoos | Etc:
”Every time I see my scar, it reminds me of better times. When it felt like I had a family.”
Jay has one scar and two tattoos (ignore the tattoos in the pic). His scar is on his left forearm, where his cousin and him were play fighting and he went through the glass coffee table. One of his tattoos is a dragon that is curled around his left bicep, his other tattoo in an infinity symbol on his right wrist.
Overall Appearance:
”Yeah to be honest, I don’t really take much pride in my appearance..”
That first thing people notice about Jay is his clear green eyes that reflect everything he is feeling, though their usually bright and friendly as that's how he is usually feeling. He also has shaggy brown hair and while he isn't jock muscular, he likes to keep himself in shape.

Personality.
Habits:
”Not really, any that I know of.”
Jay has the habit of always saying the wrong thing at the wrong time, or saying something to make a conversation awkward, not even realizing he was doing it. Jay also has the bad habit of biting his nails, not when he nervous or anything, just in general.

Lolly snakes
Sunlight
Summer
Peace of mind
Dislikes:
”There aren’t too many in this list, I like to see the best in everything.”
Pressure
Obedience
Animals
Rain
The cold
Uncomfortable clothes
Bitchy Girls
Favourite Subject/Why:
”I’m just not particularly fond of the rigid structure of the other classes.”
Jay most enjoys art and PE as they aren’t as structured around sitting in a desk and writing notes like all the other classes.
Least Favourite Subject/Why:
”That shit just doesn’t make sense.”
Geography, he just doesn’t get it and refuses to even give it a chance.
Hobbies:
”A few here and there but I am always dropping and picking up new hobbies.”
Playing Guitar, listening to music, playing cards, Jogging and sleeping are his main hobbies.
Overall Personality:
”I like to think I a pretty easy to get along with sort of guy. There are only a few people that aren’t cool with me and they know who they are.”
Jay just is. He doesn’t aggravate or ruffle people’s feathers. Jay doesn’t act, he reacts. When someone does or say something that involves him, he only acts accordingly, never taking the initiative himself. He is extremely easy to get to know though, you’ll always find him before, between and after classes hanging out of the front steps. His guitar in hand and a light hearted smile lighting up his face. He always gives off the vibe that he doesn’t take himself too seriously and anyone is welcome to join him on the steps. He doesn’t either take himself seriously either, he doesn’t see the point in spending what time you have asserting your dominance over other people. Or trying to get people to accept you, when no matter what you do that will never accept you. That’s not to say he wants people to hate him, of course he wants to be likes and to be friends with everyone. If someone does happen to dislike him though, he’s not going to stay up late thinking about what it could be that they disliked. Some people were just built that way; negative. Jay is also very kind, not that he’ll do what ever someone asks him to do and he is sweet and gentle or any of the crap. He just never insults people, to their face or behind their back. He also hates when people insult others. Everyone has faults, no one is exempt from that, so why should someone be insulted about something everyone has in common. Jay also has a passion for playing guitar, he is quite musically inclined and has been playing guitar since as far back as he can remember.

Background.
Friends:
”This could take awhile.”
TBA
Best Friends:
”I just appreciate people who appreciate me and who I am.”
TBA
Relationship Status:
”Of course, I wouldn’t complain if some pretty girl wanted to spend more time with me.”
Single.
Family:
“I used to feel part of a family but now I’m not so sure.”
Jay’s mother died when he was six due to an on going illness that had gone on for three years. His Dad, Michael, works a lot and Jay hasn’t seen him since he left for Fresh Mountain High. Jay also has an older cousin named Liam that he used to be really close with, but Liam stopped coming around to hang out a long time ago.
Enemies:
”I don’t consider anyone my enemy, if they want to hate me fine, but I refuse to hate them back.”
None
Overall History:
”It could have been a lot worse.”
Before Jay’s mother died he had a happy and fulfilled childhood. He didn’t have any sibling but he had a mother that would do anything for him. Liam used to always come over seeming as he didn’t have any siblings either. Liam always had a dominant personality and so Jay naturally learnt how to shape himself around what Liam wanted. It’s kind of the reason that he is how he is. After his mother death, it was like suddenly he realized how big his house actually was. When his Mother died it’s like she took the laughter, lief and lived in feel of the house. Without her it was just that, a house, no longer a home. After a while Liam stopped coming around to hang out and Jay ended up alone in his silent house. His father always at work or away on work trips. As soon as he could Jay left for Fresh Mountain High, leaving behind the silence of his own house for a place he couldn’t get a bit of privacy. He still goes home for the summer of course, but it’s not like he ever sees his father. His father always has some trip or something over the summer so it has been a few years since Jay last saw him.

Lacey

Lacey walked to her locker and grabbed her writing notebook. She then took out her phone and plugged in her headphones. She immediatly started blasting Fences by Paramore and made her way to the canteen. She was thinking about the next poem she should write as she sat st an empty table. She pulled out her phone so she could text Jacob, her best friend.

To: Jacob
From: Lacey
I'm at the canteen. Hurry up so I can eat your food. :)

She was always eating Jacob's food since she never bought the school's food. She changed songs to Cirles by Paramore and flipped open her notebook. She skipped past so of the poems and stories she has written so she was on an empty page. She crossed her skinny jean covered legs and began to write.

The title of this poem was called the dark and all the words after that were associated with it. She went back and starged editing sincecshe wrote everuthing in pen. As she was writing she heard laughtet over her music coming from the popular table. Something hystericsl must have happened, but she didn't care enough to find out.

Her and the populars weren't at the best of terms. Even if she was friends with sone of them she never associatex herself with them. She liked to be her own which is why she is sitting at tabke by herself waiting for her bestfriend.

Rosalynd Sorbie
Rosa shoved her notebook in her locker and made her way to the canteen. So far school hadn’t managed to put her in a shitty mood, which borderline impressive. Though this probably had to do with the fact she had ditched her two first classes; maths and english, choosing sleep over her two least favorite class. She had shown up just in time for PE, being well rested of course. Though when she decided to sleep in she hadn’t realized that everyone would be finding out their dorms today. Also that she’d miss hassling the new freshmen in morning. Back to the main point though, she wasn’t to worried about not knowing who she was rooming up with. She’d just ask around, someone would know.

Arriving in the canteen, Rosa got herself a chicken and lettuce roll before choosing where she’d sit. She nodded and gave a blunt hello to Darcy as she passed both her and Cara sitting together, moving to the outskirts of the Canteen. She didn’t care all that much for Cara, and well, she wasn’t all buddy, buddy with Darcy. She saw the populars, jocks and whatnot, sitting together, she could have easily joined them. She didn’t though, she was friends with a lot of them, but there was a reason she wasn’t a part of their clique. Besides the two people she knew the best in that clique were Mike and Dehlilah, but that seemed to be a having a couple moment. That and she wasn’t nearly self-conscious enough to worry about how people would look at her if she sat alone.

She ended up choosing a seat at an empty bench, where her back was facing the way and see could watch everything going on. Unwrapping her lunch, she ripped off a bit and popped it into her mouth. She watched everything going on in the canteen, waiting for something exciting to happen and hoping that lunch didn’t pass too quickly.

Jacob Preston
Jay was lounging on a couple of steps he had stumbled , quite a distance away from the canteen and the business that usually surrounded lunch. The sun that was shining down on him had made him lazy, he was pulled from his daydreams by his phone in his back pocket though. He briefly looked at the text he had received from Lacey, his best friend, before somehow managing to pull himself up off the steps. He didn’t bother replying though, he’d just go see her in person. Walking into the canteen, it didn’t take him long to find her, she was the one sitting at an empty table, writing in a notebook with earphones in.

Walking towards her though he passed Cara and Darcy. “Hey you two,” He said to them as a friendly greeting, before giving a friendly wink to Cara. He and her were fairly good friends, who hanged out from time to time. Not to mention she was gorgeous, hey, he was a guy, he couldn’t help but notice. Looking across the table he saw, a girl that he presumed was a freshman. Freshmen weren’t exceeding hard to pick out. As a general rule of thumb, they were people Jay had never seen before, which was obvious because he knew almost everybody. Not that he a busy body, or was friends with everybody, he was just a friendly and open guy. They also generally looked uncomfortable and out of place. This is normally where Jay would have made a friendly introduction but the girl was hunched over her game-boy. She also looked to be concentrating on what she was doing and he didn’t want to distract her. Giving Cara and Darcy one last smile he continued walking towards Lacey, he trusted the two girls to be friendly enough with the freshman.

As he approached Lacey’s table, Jay opened the packet of chips he was holding and put them down on the table in front of her. “Sorry, It’s not gourmet, it’s all a had and I can’t be stuffed getting up and getting anything else.” Jay said grinning at his best friend. He had seen her in the midst of writing a poem on her notepad, but he didn’t try to read it over her shoulder, if she wanted him to read it, she’d say so. “So, how’s school treating you so far?” He asked as he reached for one of those folded type chips from the packet he had laid on the table. “Snag a good roommate?”

Jay had gotten Mike, the soccer dude. Jay didn’t mind all that much about who he got roomed with though, he had the ability of getting along with just about anybody. Even though it seemed like he was that odd number student who got roomed with someone from another year level. Him and Mike hadn’t talked much lately but it wasn’t like he was pining for conversation with the boy. Besides, Mike was always much better conversation away from his jock friends anyway. He looked over at Lacey though thinking of the girls in her level that she might have gotten roomed with. Now Jay doesn’t claim to understand the ways of girls, in any way shape or form. He did figure though that he knew Lacey well enough to assume she wouldn’t have of been bothered that much by who she was roomed with.

Lacey

Lacey ripped out a page in her notebook angry that she had lost her inspiration. she threw and stared at the page thinking of something else to write. The song Emergency by Paramore played and she just started writing a fake letter to tell a story. She thought about how to start it and this is how far she got.

Dear you,

This isn't a proper greeting, but you never gave me the proper goodbye. since you failed now I have to start. I hate you. Is that too harsh? Let me try again. I strongly dislike you. I don't know why you just make me mad. Every time I see you I think of hurting you. I obviously haven't, but someone else has. You have no idea how-

She got that far and that's when the chips landed in front of her. She pulled out her headphones and was going to throw them back at whoever threw it, but it was Jacob so she smiled instead. "Thanks." She opened them and at a chip and turne off her music. She was eating them and Jay asked her who she was roomed with. "I don't know. I forgot to check the roster thing. But I don't care as long as i'm away from Demi."

She hated Demi. That was the only person in the school she actually hated. She couldn't get over how much Demi bothered her over the years and Lacey could have killed her, but alas Lacey had mercy on her. "Whose your roomie Jay?" She ate half the chips and then pushed them away from her. She wasn't one to eat often. She looked at Jay who looked pretty cute today, but he always looked liked that. she rested her head in her hands and waited for his response.

Dehlilah smiled, pleased with Mike's reaction. She laughed when she heard his roommate was Jacob. " Well you probably might be staying with me a few nights since you have a nocturnal player as a roommate. After she kissed him a picture of them fell out of his pocket. She remembered it well. It was her freshman year and she had just stopped withdrawal. Mike suggested they say on campus and go to the Cafe. After the date she knew for sure he was the one. It was one of the best days of her life.

Just looking back on it made her smile goofily. She laced her fingers in his and held his hand to her cheek.

"Awwww stop with the lover dovey shit!" One of the soccer players named Dave hollered throwing french fries at her. She groaned picking the fries out of her hair.
"Babe he got fries stuck in my hair," She whimpered getting them untangled. She tried to pick them out with the help of her friends while she glared at them. One of the girls threw some back at him. Starting an impromptu food fight. She giggled and ducked behind Mike to avoid ruining her clothes. They weren't throwing anything wet but still. Plus usually she couldn't do this with Demi.

Cara turned as she heard a familiar voice say "Hey you two." A grin appeared on her face when she saw that it was Jacob. My God, he is sexy. She thought to herself. At the moment, she was pretty sure she and Jacob were just friends, but she was going to have to change that. She gave him a slight wave, and he shot her a friendly wink. Her heart skipped a beat and her smile got even wider, as she tried to hide her blushing cheeks.

After Jacob walked away, she noticed a girl sitting by herself at the table next to Darcy's. She was totally absorbed in her Gameboy, and it was hard to see her face. But she did look a little familiar. Where have I seen her before? She wondered to herself. Realization hit her, this was one of her new roommates. She bit her lip, wondering if she should talk to her. She didn't want to disturb her, but she didn't want to be rude. She debated the issue in her head.

Jay laughed as Lacey admitted she hadn't checked who she was roomed with, trust her to forget something like that. She was honestly a complete scatter brain, but for some reason for her it just worked, it was kind of adorable. She also hadn’t cared all that much, proving that Jay did in fact know his best friend as much as he though he did.

"I got Mike," he replied slowly, he knew Mike wasn’t Lacey’s favorite person in the school but it didn’t really matter all that much. Jay didn’t really make a habit of hanging out in his room. Not only did he strongly prefer sunshine over being inside but he also played guitar a lot. He always felt bad for his roommates having to put up with his guitar thing, so he always found places inside school grounds to hangout instead.

Jay turned to see what was going on behind him, when he heard a commotion going on. He just ignored it though when he saw a food fight had erupted within the populars, it didn’t effect him in any way. Unless of course it spread to the whole canteen, he doubted it would though. He didn't doubt that some jocks were going to be in some serious trouble, he knew Dehlilah well enough to know she was not going to be happy, he almost pitied Mike.

Smiling lightly he turned back to Lacey, “Well I just hope you get a good roommate,” he said sincerely before his tone turned joking. “Cause, you know if get someone I don’t like, I will be forced not to come around and see you.” He laughed a little, it wasn’t even a good joke, she knew better than anyone, that he was able to get along with anybody. Last year he had gotten on better with Lacey’s roommate than she had.

He then grabbed a couple more chips from the packet before rolling up the opening of the packet, so the chips wouldn’t go stale. “I see you enjoyed my lunch,” he said to himself laughing quietly. Lacey always ate his food, he couldn’t remember when it started but it was what they did every lunch time, the day just wouldn’t have felt right if she didn’t take his food off him.

Dehlilah watched Mike and his friends throw food like little kids and lightly chuckled. The cheerleaders quickly fired back though. She decided to stay out of it because 1. she didn't eat lunch and 2. she was wearing a sheer top. She smiled as she ducked behind Mike. Not that that lasted long which was expected because the boys always came before her and she was used to it.

And just as she ducked behind him the girls dumped juice on the boys, and her. She gasped as the cold juice hit her.
"What the hell?!" She screamed, not caring if the whole cafeteria heard her. She watched mike keep laughing and throwing food and her annoyance hit the roof. He just laughed and ignored it . Her top was soaked and her bra was totally showing through now.

Mike stopped, still unaware of the damage done and joked around about her clothes and how they should run. All the jocks stopped suddenly, now that they realized how much damage they did. One of the boys, Keith, walked up to her and said "Oh gracious captain take pity on my soul and forgive me for what I have done." Then he kissed her hand and Mike started laughing. Dehlilah just glared at him and rolled her eyes. She almost forgot about her shirt until one of the girls gasped loudly "Oh My Gawd your shirt is see through."
Dehlilah blushed brightly and covered her chest. It wasn;t that she was ashamed, I mean she was very well endowed but it was embarrassing nonetheless. She suddenly realized everyone's eyes on her and blushed even brighter as she spotted familiar faces.

Lacey

Lacey rolled her eyes when Jay had mentioned his roomate was Mike. She didn't hate Mike it was just that she couldn't stand being around him. She tried to talk to to him in freshman year, but he rejected her in frot of her soccer buddies and she refused to talk to him now. "You can count on me never coming to your room." She smiled since she knew that was a lie. Jay liked to play his guitar in his room so of course she would be there.

Speak of the devil. Mike was over at the populars having a food ight and Dehlilah was a mess. Lacey gigled since it was funny, but looked back over to Jay since they weren't her priority at the moment Jay was. In her line of sight she could see Cara was looking at Jay and she could tell she ha a crush on him. Jay was really cute so who wouldn't. He ate another chip from the bag ad smiled.

Jay made a cheesy joke about how he wouldn't come to see her if her room mate was some one he didn't like. She laughed since that was a lie. Jay made more friends than Lacey has ever made in her life. She didn't care since she liked the silence sometimes. "I probably won't be in my dorm most of the time anyway. I'd rather be on the patio outside when it's dark." Se closed her notebook since ot was still open. She liked being outside in the dark since it helped her write.

Lacey reached for another chipped and nodded when Jay mention how he enjoyed his lunch. "Yes I did. It was the best." She rested her head into her hands and finished chewing the chip in her hand. The populars were botherin er and she was getting sick of the other people in the canteen. "Hey Jay. Can we leave the canteen? I want to hear you play your guitar and I am getting sick of this place." She said playfully.

Jay laughed, there was no way Lacey would avoid coming to his room just because of Mike and they both knew it. She enjoyed listening to him play guitar way too much to cut out seeing him in his room all together. Besides, he assumed Mike wouldn’t even be around that much; he seemed the type to be always hanging out with his jock friends.

When she mentioned that she liked to hangout on the patio anyway, he smiled softly, he knew she preferred writing out in the dark. They had a boatload of good memories hanging outside in the dark together, sharing memories and whatnot. Something about the dark always made you feel like opening up.

The moment Lacey mentioned leaving though, it took less than a second for him to jump up from his seat. “I thought you’d never ask,” he replied grinning, indoors were never his thing and he found the canteen to be, stuffy. Grabbing his now almost empty packet of chips with one hand, he slung his other arm over Lacey’s shoulders already pulling her towards the exit. “Besides, you were the one who invited me to the canteen,” he said sarcastically rolling his eyes in good humor as they neared the exit.

The two of them reached the door to get out of the canteen at about the same time as Mike and Dehlilah. Jay gave a small sympathetic smile to Mike, knowing that he was going to have hell to pay. He didn’t say anything to either of them though as he knew Lacey wouldn’t want to stick around and talk to Mike. Instead, he used to arm he still had planted of her shoulders to lead her away from the two on them.

He continued leading her down a couple of corridors until they came across the stair he had been lounging on earlier. He smiled when he discovered the stairs were still bathed in the same sunlight as before. Finally releasing Lacey, he spread himself out across the stairs, stretching his legs. He then smiled up at Lacey and patted the spot next to him, motioning for her to join him. He found himself staring at her for longer than he should have though. He couldn't help admiring how gorgeous she looked in the sunlight.

Lacey

Lacey giggled when Jay jumped out of his seat to leave the canteen. "You seem way too excited to leave." She gathered her notebook and phone while Jay was guiding her out of the canteen with his arms draped over her shoulders. He joked about how he invited him there anyway. "I wouldn't have if you were on time." She giggled and walked out the doors. Mike and his girlfriend Lacey was out there as well.

Lacey thought he deserved whatever was coming to him. Messing with the queen bee like that, even Lacey knew better and she wasn't one to care much about the populars. She felt bad for Dehlilah thought since she was soaked an her shirt was see through. There was nothing she could do so she just continued the walk with Jay.

They got to a stairwell and Jay let go of her to sit down. He patted the seat next to him and she sat down. She streched put her legs and put them on Jay's legs and leaned back on the wall. She opened her notebook and looked at the fiction letter she started. She wanted to finish it, but she'd rather here Jay play. She close the notebook. "Where's your guitar? That guitar is usually with you more than I am and I am with you all the time." Which was true.

Cara Williams

Cara watched as Jacob and Lacey left the Canteen, and Jacob had his arm around Lacey. Her heart sank. She wished that was her. She sighed, biting her lip sadly. Cara ran her fingers through her hair, set her salad down on the table, then turned and headed off toward the bathroom. Once in the bathroom, Cara walked inside the stall and locked it behind her. She leaned against the stall door, shutting her eyes. She took a deep breath. She was roommates with Lacey, maybe she could to talk to her about Jacob later that night, and find out whether Lacey liked him. That sounded like a decent plan to her and she began to calm down.

Cara unlocked the stall door and went over to the sink. She looked at her face in the mirror, applied a coat of lip gloss, then exited the bathroom. She walked back over to the table Darcy was sitting at, and glanced again at the girl playing Gameboy, before sitting down.

Despite all her efforts to appear to be focused on her game, she couldn't help but remain fixated on the room around her, especially now that she was actually sitting at the table next to some upperclassmen. Also, the game she was playing was some really stupid game on a game-boy color that she hadn't touched in years, and was the only console she was able to dig out of her still unpacked car. Intentionally keeping her head down, she fixated her eye's through her hair, watching all that went on around her. Some guy walked by, and Cara seemed interested in his noticing her for some reason, and stared in his direction for a suspiciously long amount of time.

Ashley sighed. She knew she would have to speak up and initiate a conversation with this future roommate of hers. She finally decided to say something when Cara suddenly got up and went to the bathroom, leaving Ashley awkwardly alone with this other girl at the table. Ashley slouched further in her seat and pretended not to have noticed anything.

Finally, Cara emerged from the bathroom, looking at Ashley before sitting down. Now she had to say something. Without pausing her game or even getting the nerve to look up, Ashley spoke, in a nervous half-whisper.

"Who was that guy? You know him or something?"

Immediately she regretted the statement, not only was that a completely awkward way to start a conversation, but it also revealed that she had, in fact, been watching Cara the entire time. She turned her attention back on her video game, kind of hoping Cara hadn't heard her over all the noise in the room.

Jay watched as Lacey got out her notebook that she was forever writing in, so he leaned back on the step behind and allowed his eyes to flutter closed. He had set himself up for a less talky and more peaceful remainder of lunch before she mentioned his guitar. He laughed lazily, she was right, he always had his guitar with him, it felt weird not having it with him.

“It’s a tragedy Lace, one of the strings broke and I didn’t have time to fix it up before school started. I was forced to leave it in my room.” He replied very melodramatically as he grinned, though keeping his eyes closed as he talked. “I think I’m having withdrawal symptoms,” he added on sarcastically but more quietly, trailing off at the end and allowing the peaceful silence to engulf him once again.

Jay loved hanging out with Lacey for this exact reason. He could get along with and chat with anybody, but with Lacey they didn’t have to be doing anything in particular. They didn’t even have to be talking and he still enjoyed himself. You can have fun and exciting moments with anyone, it’s the people that make the ordinary and borderline boring moments enjoyable that are worth keeping around. For him that person was Lacey and anyone would be hard pressed to beat her out of that position, not impossible though.

“But hey I’ll make you a deal,” Jay spoke up after a few minutes, knowing she had wanted to hear him play. “You finish up whatever you’re writing in that notebook now and I promise to fix up my guitar after school and then I’ll play something for you.” He continued, his eyes remaining closed, after a few moments though he nudged her gently and spoke again, adding to what he had just said. “Something new. Do we have a deal?”

He didn't have anything new, she had heard everything he had multiple times before, but she didn't know that. For all she knew he could have heaps of new stuff that he had been working on over summer. Of course if she took the deal she'd find out later but that was later, Jay could deal with stuff that's later, later. Besides she could never stay angry at him.

Lacey listened to him explain the tragedy of his guitar and how he was going through withdrawal. "Poor baby. You need to get her fixed." Lacey often called his guitar a girl because she believed that the guitar she could be a girl. Lacey pulled her legs off of Jay and leaned on him instead. She opened her notebook and read over the letter she wrote in the cafeteria. It wasn't done yet. She closed it again.

Jay proposed a deal. The deal was that Lacey finish whatever she was writing and he would fix his guitar and come to play her a new song. She pretended to think about the deal as of it were a hard decision. He nudged her and she agreed. "Deal." She was going to finish it even if they never made a deal.

Lacey pulled out her pencil, lofted her knees and placed the notebook in front of her.
...you have no idea- That's where se stopped when Jay entered the canteen. She thought for a moment and smiled because she had the idea.

...You have no idea how hard it is to right to you. First of all there is no way you can respond so it is a waste of my time. And second of all the mailman doesn't deliever letters to a tombstone. I will have to take it to you and read it. So again I repeat my earlier statement. I hate you. I hate you because I loved you and I thought you loved me. I hate you because saved me and it ended your life. You weren't suppose to die my death. I hate you because you will stop saying 'I love you' to me. I hate myself for losing my one true love. So now, here I am wanting to die along with you. But I couldn't bring myself to do it when you first died, but now things have changed. By the time I finish the letter she be covered in my blood. I hate you, but only because I love you. In order to be runited with you my life has to come to a complete end.

From your Enemy,
Your true love

Lacey read it from beginning to end and closed the notebook. "I'm done, but you can't see it until the guitar is fixed." She smiled and put the notebook away.

13:45 - Canteen

"Hey Darcy." Darcy glanced up, where Cara was standing. "Um...you wouldn't mind me sitting with you, would you?"
"No, of course not," Darcy grinned at her, moving over to make some space on the bench. She finished off her chicken wrap, smiling at her friend.

“Hey you two," a male voice said. Darcy glanced upwards to where Jacob was passing, giving Cara a wink as he walked by. Darcy teasingly nudged Cara's shoulder, grinning at her, who seemed to be glancing over at a girl on her gameboy, sitting by herself.

Some commotion started over by the popular crowd, and suddenly Dehlilah was covered in juice. "What the hell?" she screamed loudly, making the majority of the students in the canteen turn to face her. Juice covered her top, making it pretty see-through. Mike, after laughing for a few seconds, took of his sports jacket and wrapped it around Dehlilah before escorting her from the hall. Darcy shrugged off the aching in her chest, smiling brightly at Cara.

"Anyway, do you know who you're rooming with?" she asked, smiling cheerfully.

Cara glanced over at Darcy, smiling slightly at her. "I'm rooming with Lacey and...some girl I've never heard of before. She must be a freshman. Her name's Ashley." She looked over at Gameboy Girl and wrinkled her nose, deciding that the girl was probably Ashley. She shifted her gaze back to Darcy. "What about you, who are you rooming with?"

A sound came from Gameboy Girl's direction, and Cara snapped her attention to her. Her voice was quiet, but it sounded as if she asked Cara "who was that guy" and if she knew him. Cara wrinkled her nose. "Oh, Jacob?" She asked. Cara wondered if she had made her attraction to him completely obvious, and her cheeks blushed a reddish pink. "Jacob is..." she bit her lip. "Just a friend of mine." For now. She thought to herself. Cara looked back over at Darcy, wondering if she too had noticed her looking at Jacob. Thinking it about caused her blush to deepen, and she bit into her lip harder.

Jay looked over at Lacey acting pained, “you drive a hard bargain,” he said finally, hoping she’d reconsider. The bell rang out, signaling that it was time for them to put their conversation on hold. Sighing he stood up slowly and stretched out his arms, he had almost fallen asleep for a moment there when she was writing in her notebook. ”Fine, then I’ll fix my guitar, then you’ll let me read what you wrote. Yeah?” Jay asked as he leaned down, extending out his arm to help Lacey up.

“What have you got next then?” He asked as they made their way towards their way indoors and towards their lockers, they both had lockers downstairs this year. It definitely sucked that he was in the year above Lacey though, it meant that they didn’t have classes together. Of course that and the fact he would have graduated this time next year. They didn’t really talk about that though, it was like the elephant in the room, they saved that topic for the dark nights.

It almost felt cold inside now though after spending most of lunchtime in the sun, he was definitely not feeling like returning to classes. Thankfully though he had PE next so hopefully, he could make it through the afternoon, at least he had already tackled his least favorite subject; geography, earlier in the day. It wasn’t that he hated the teacher or anything, he just didn’t get geography and refused to even try to understand it, it was more a stubborn thing. He hated geography at one point in time and so now he refuses to give it a second chance. Like those annoying people who claim to hate food they have never in fact tried.

Lacey

Lacey laughed at how dramatic he was being about the be he made with her. The bell rang out and he sighed. She allowed him to help her up and she held her notebook close to her chest. "Yay. I look foreward to your guitar. But can I listen to it in your dorm. I want to avoid my room mates for now." She smiled and walked with Jay towards the lockers.

He asked her what class she had next and she thought for a moment. "Buisness? I think. All I know is it isn't english and I am going to be bored." She hated every class pretty much except for english. If Jay shared some maybe she wouldn't have been so bored. But of course he was a year older and had no time together in class. "Skipping souds pretty good about now." She laughed. She would never skip in a million years.

They reached her locker first and she opened it revealing how neat and orgamized it was. It was filled with pictures of her, paramore and some of her bestfriend, Jay. She played the notebook in her loker and grabbed her textbooks for her next class. She shut her locker.

"Sure whatever you want," Jay replied easily to her request about listening to him play in his dorm, though that wasn't to say he wasn't surprised. He didn't claim to know how the girl world worked though so he just shrugged it off with a lazy smile. When she mentioned skipping Jay laughed lazily knowing she would never even seriously consider skipping school. He had skipped a few times here and there, no more than the regular highschooler, Lacey never came with him though. He had to find other friends for that.

"Well, I guess I'll see you after school sometime," he said as they arrived at Lacey's locker. He walked backwards away from her, giving her a small wave, when he turned around to continue walking to his locker though, he ran straight into someone. "Shit sorry," he said automatically, not even looking at who who he had run into, still processing the fact he had pretty much bowled into someone. Once he got his bearing straight he realized the person he had run into was Cara and a warm friendly smile spread across his face. It was always good to see her, even in a situation like this.

"Care, I totally didn't see you there, my bad," he said, with a lazy grin while he scratched the back of his neck. He felt terrible about running into such a caring sweet person, though he hoped she'd see the funny side in it. He hadn't witnessed it firsthand but he heard she could have a bit of a temper. "You are okay though yeah?" He asked sincerely after a few beats. He wouldn't have described her as fragile, especially since Lacey had, had a fit last time he called a girl fragile, but she wan't exactly tall or solid. Don't get him wrong though, in any case other than this, that a was a positive thing.

Looking down at her books he noticed she was on her way to business, he had to hold back an involuntary grimace. If geography was his least favorite subject, business was his second least favorite. "On your way to business I see..." Jay said nodding towards her books, his tone doing nothing to hide his distaste for business, in fact it probably aided in making his dislike more obvious.

Cara walked down the hall toward business class when she walked straight into what felt like a wall. She let out a quick gasp from the impact. The person said a quick apology, and Cara realized it was Jacob. A smile appeared on her face as her cheeks blushed slightly. "Oh, it's completely fine!" She grinned. Jacob asked if she was okay. "Yeah, yeah I'm good!" She reassured him, nodding her head "yes."

Jacob noticed the books in her arms, the one on top for business class. He asked her if he was going to business and it was obvious by the tone of his voice that he didn't like the class. "Yeah, I am. I take it the class isn't your favorite?" She asked him, a half smile playing at her lips. "Why not? Is the teacher a bitch? Is there a ton of homework?" She inquired.

"Favorite isn't exactly the word I'd use," he replied, returning her half smile with a half smile of his own. When she asked why he didn't enjoy business though he smile dropped off the edge of the planet. "Nah, the teacher's fine, and there's not too much homework or anything..." He said trailing off at the end, he wasn't sure how to continue or, more to the point, if he wanted to continue. He liked to make people laugh, sure, but continuing would probably only end in him being laughed at by a pretty girl, which was not exactly something he wanted to wittingly walk into. It only took once for a guy to learn his lesson and Jay had already been taught his lesson from Cami Saunders in second grade.

"It's just that..." He said, hesitating with what to say, his eyes drifted over the top of her head and he began rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly and hopping from foot to foot. "Fuck it," he finally said under his breath before deciding to just tell her the truth, he was a guy, he could wear his faults. "I've just never liked it, ever. Like those annoying, bratty kids who claim to hate food they've never tried, yeah, I'm just like that with Business. Geography as well as long as we're being honest." He blurted out quickly, not taking a breath the whole time.

Only after he had gotten that all out did his eyes move back to meet her stunning green ones again. He's not ashamed of anything about himself and it's not exactly one of his biggest secret or anything but definitely not something he enjoyed telling pretty girls about, especially not ones he thought he might have a chance with. Then again pretty much bowling her over in the corridor wasn't exactly working in his favor either. Who knows, maybe she liked spastic, annoyingly childish guys.

Cara smiled as he seemed lost for words when she asked why he didn't like business. He hopped from foot to foot, rubbing the back of his neck as he avoided eye contact with her. It was adorable and made her giggle quietly. When he finally found the words to describe his feelings, she nodded. "I know the feeling," she told him. "I'm the same way with math." She'd hated math since she was little. It was the class she dreaded going to, and the homework she always saved for last. Something about just didn't appeal to her. Not really having anything else to say to Jacob about the topic, she changed the subject.

"So I hear you play guitar," she said with a grin. "I always wish I knew how to play." Her favorite band included acoustic guitar in a lot of their music, and she had always wanted to play the songs on guitar. If she was to learn guitar, she'd probably be pretty good at it. She had a good sense of rhythm and an ear for music. She was a pretty good singer, though she didn't like singing in front of other people. She usually only sang in the shower.

"Yeah, you know, I play from time to time, I gues" Jay replied sarcastically, smiling widely, it wasn't exactly a secret around school that he pretty much was always playing his guitar. "Really? I could teach you the basics sometime if you wanted?" Jay replied, he'd never actually taught anyone else to play before though. In fact he didn't even remember learning to play himself, as far as he was concerned he had been playing for as far back as he could remember. Playing guitar was probably one of the only things his mother had been able to pass onto him before she had passed away. It was always great to find someone who had the same, or potentially the same interest in playing guitar as he had.

Looking up Jay realized he had let time get away from him and the people in the corridor had thinned out dramatically. "And now I've made you late. Sorry, I'd better let you go." Jay said with a smile and a wave before he walked off further down the corridor towards his locker. After he stopping off at his locker, Jay rocked up to gym roughly ten minutes late. It didn't matter all that much though; the teacher hadn't seen him so he just melded into the group of seniors, unseen. He pulled out his phone to text Cara.

To: Cara
From: Jay
Hey, were you serious about the guitar thing?

He finished texting her quickly, slipping his phone back into his pocket. Looking up at the equipment Coach Sanders had set up in gym, he tried to guess what sport they would be doing today seeming as he had missed the instructions part of the lesson. It looked like it was going to be dodgeball. Fun. Truthfully it wasn't that bad of a sport, it's just that Jay wasn't exactly an agressive person. he couldn't just throw a ball at someone, aiming to hurt them.

Rosalynd Sorbie
Rosa just looked disbelievingly at Demi as she was sprayed, more like hosed down, with some sort of perfume. Seriously had no one notified Demi that she had graduated from junior high. She was even more shocked to see some dumb ass blondes laugh at Demi's antics. Demi really needed to learn how to insult someone though, first off, Rosa has absolutely no problem being called Rosalynd, it's just that Rosa is less of a mouthful, so that didn't really upset her. Second of all, Rosa was failing by choice and laziness, and she was ashamed or behind the scenes about it either. It was no secret to anybody that she pretty much ditched more classes than she showed up for. When she did show up though, it was hardly like she payed attention. Demi needed a dictionary quick because insults were meant to insult their target and Demi's didn't even make her blink.

"Great, now I really do smell like teen spirit," Rosa mumbled under her breath as she turned back to the front deciding to not even bother with Demi. It wasn't worth throwing away her sanity. She couldn't even have that though as it wasn't long before her vision was taken up by Demi again. Rosa laughed under her breath though, she really didn't need to bother with Demi, she'd did it just fine all by herself. Buying a teacher a present? God, was Demi created in some 1990's stereotypical high school movie? There were kiss asses, and then there were Demi, she was like in a league of her own.

Rosa began drawing black roses over the back of her notebook not paying much attention to what was going on. She noted that some new kid with a weird name was getting introduced, but she just ignored it, she didn't care. When Demi introduced herself to the new kid though, Rosa couldn't hold her tongue, Demi was just asking for it. "Just a tip to the new guy from a girl that's been here far too long, I'd avoid her, she's completely nuts. Rosa said to the new kid, nodding over to Demi, as she leaned back to talk to him. When she had finished what she had to say she turned back to the front, completely ignoring Demi's presence.

Cara laughed as he was sarcastic about how much he played guitar. She'd heard that he was always playing guitar, and whenever she saw him he usually had his guitar. "Yeah my favorite band plays a lot of acoustic," she explained to him. "Oh my God seriously? You would teach me? I would love that!" Jacob said that he had made her late and apologized. Cara hadn't even realized that the bell had rung. "Oh shoot," she said, but with a laugh. She smiled and waved as he walked off. "See you later!" She said with a smile. She made a right and headed to the Business classroom.

She slipped inside. "Sorry I'm late," she muttered to the teacher, then picked the only available seat in the classroom. She laid her books down on the desk. Her phone buzzed and she pulled it out of her pocket. It was a text from Jay. Involuntarily, a smile spread across her face. She glanced up at the teacher and then, with her phone hidden under the desk, typed up a reply.

To: Jay
From: Cara
Hey! Totally serious. I've always wanted to learn! :)

She stuffed the phone back in her pocket and looked up at her classmates. Demi, Darcy, Lacey, and some kid she had never seen before. Who was he? New student maybe?

It took less than a second for Jay's phone to buzz, notifying him that he had received a message. He frowned slightly though, even if Cara was one of those girls who was always on her phone, there was no way she could have responded that fast. His frown turned into a smile though when he discovered that the text was from Lacey. Even though they weren’t in any of the same classes they still kept in touch and expressed their hatred of their classes and teachers through texts.

To: Lacey
From: Jay
Chin up, could be worse. I’ve got PE with the terminator. Dodgeball. Yay.

Jay after sending off a text to Lacey smiled a little and almost felt a little better about how he was going to be spending his whole next class. The terminator was their name for Coach Sanders and if you knew her you would know it was quite an accurate nickname. Before he could slide his phone back into his pocket though it buzzed again, this time it was from Cara; replying to his earlier message. Smiling at her apparent enthusiasm, he texted her back, of course making sure to look up occasionally to make sure he wasn’t gaining any unwanted attention from the Terminator.

To: Cara
From: Jay
That’s awesome. Now there’s no way I can’t teach you. How’s business treating you.

After replying to her text Jay began moving to the edge of the gym hoping to go by unnoticed until he saw one of the ladies from the office walking towards him. He could never remember her name, all he knew was that she didn’t teach classes and this wasn’t the first time she had come to fetch him from class at this time of year. It was just one of the negatives of being known as the guy who got along with just about anybody.

”Jacob, I’m excusing you from class, I need you for something. Come with me.” She said, all business like usual. Jay just smiled pleasantly and shook his head lightly as he followed her out of the gym, he didn’t care all that much for staying for the rest of PE anyway. They both came arrived at the main school offices where he saw a girl with wavy brown waiting for them. “Jacob, you know the deal, this is Skyanna, Skyanna this is Jacob, he’ll show you around and help you get settled.” She said, introducing the two of them, still in her usual, clipped, businesslike style. Once she had walked off Jay smiled at Skyanna, “Jay, resident friendly guy on campus, if you've got any questions direct them my way. I promise not to laugh unless they are really stupid,” he said jokingly before moving towards the door, motioning for her to follow him.
