Out in a secluded corner of the FMH cafeteria, a guy in a plain black shirt and over used jeans (so over used that the tattered parts were actually due to over use and are not purposely it's design). He decided to remove the bell peppers from his mini pizza and munched on the remains. Everyone else were seating with someone all except for him, Tyler Neemson. He never really found out if people were just too shallow to really believe the rumors about him that they were so afraid of hanging out with him but none the less he was glad he was spared by their immature behavior.

Speaking of immaturity, the popular posse had just decided to catch the whole school's attention and did a cliche food fight. Are they serious? They were like freaky drones that had blasted out from the TV show like 90210. He shook his head and continued to munch on his mini pizza. The populars continued with their food fight until he noticed that Dehlilah, the head cheerleader and Demi's best friend went furious as everyone else could see her bra through her soaking top. Tyler wanted to chuckle but kept the humor to his self. It would look weird he if would be laughing by his self.

He tried to look around if anyone else was laughing when his eyes landed on a very beautiful girl. Tyler had seen her around campus but has no idea who she is. She had her blonde hair in a sort of a bob, She was next to the Darcy girl and had her lunch on her lap. Everything about her made Tyler want to smile as well. Her smile was that contagious and Tyler found his self wanting to know her name.

But he paused and realized that he really didn't have a good reputation with everyone in school. The girl might turn her back on him if he actually stepped towards her and asks for her name. And as Tyler was busy contemplating with his thoughts, the bell for the next class rang. He took his now empty tray towards the tray area and left the cafeteria and headed towards his next class.

Lacey

Lacey smiled when he said that she could listen to his guitar in his dorm. She wasn't ready to see her room mates just yet. She pulled out her phone and headphones so she could listen to music. She turned and waved goodbye to Jay as he left. She placed her earbuds in her ear and blasted Ignorance by Paramore.

She started down the hall to her business class even thought she hated that class with a passion. She hated math way more though. She looked around for Tyler, but she didn't see him. She would catch up with him in class unless he skipped. She walked into the classroom and took a seat in the back corner.

Her and tyler weren't best friends like her and Jay, but he was cool to talk to when he let his guard down. He was always being mysterious and it was interesting. She didn't ever see him hang out with much people, but she never asked him about it. She would talk to him when she could.

She realized who she had the share the class with and she grew tense. Demi had her class. She wasn't here yet, but she was tensed up anyway. She went back to focusing on her music so she didn't loose her mind.

Tyler walked in to the class just as soon as Demi Collins and Dehlilah Dane exited in a rush, they bumped into his left shoulder but never bothered to apologize. He shrugged and walked back in. Mr. Beirne wasn't the type who'd punish a student for their tardiness which is why he is one of Tyler's favorite. He scanned the room for a seat just after the teacher nodded at his presence and pointed at the empty seats.

And Tyler wasn't sure if he was in luck but Cara Williams was in the same class. He decided to walk towards her and instantly took the seat next to her. He dropped his rugged backpack on the floor and sunk in his seat then without thinking twice he started staring at her as she dumped her phone back to her pocket.

"Hi," he suddenly spoke towards Cara, not caring if the other girls turned their heads towards him and hoped it was them he was talking to. He then returned his gaze to the teacher and half listened to what he was explaining. He tried his best to hide his smile and stayed quiet.

Delilah narrowed her eyes, "What the hell?" She whispered until she saw Demi mouth "Darcy and Mike". She inhaled deeply brushed her golden blonde hair over her shoulder and put on the best smile she could muster up. "Oh my god I'm so so so sorry Mr. Beirne, I swear I'll be right back." Then she got a wicked idea. "On second thought let me borrow some supplies." She walked to the supply cabinet and grabbed some tubes of paint, before walking out the room.

She accidentally bumped into Tyler and smiled at him, "Sorry Tyler," She said with a wink. She had to admit the mysterious thing was kinda hot. She couldn't help but want to know more. I mean she knew everything about everyone at the school. As the it girl she made it her business to.

As she walked into the hallway she showed Demi the tubes of paint and handed her two of them, " You know Demi, Darcy is terribly dull, we should brighten her up a bit." She said, not even bothering to hide the acidity in her voice. She quickly took off her jacket exposing her tight dress, ran a hand through her hair and put on lip gloss before following Demi who was giving her a confused look.
"When I find them I wanna be hot so I can remind him who he really loves." She explained as she looked for them. When she spotted them she decided to hang around a corner and listen before she confronted them. She help her finger to her lips to signal to Demi to be quite.

She would be damned before she lost Mike to Darcy of all people. I mean Dehlilah had everything Mike wanted in a girl: Social, hot, athletic, popular, and she adored him as much as he adored soccer. They were the perfect couple not to mention the fact that she kept him satisfied. What more could he want? Darcy was pretty but she would never fit his lifestyle. Dehlilah built her new life after drug therapy around Mike and she would fight to the death before she lost him. Besides Darcy has a nice family, her parents love her, she's not mentally damaged. Dehlilah had a hard life and Mike was her light at the end of the tunnel. Darcy may want him but Dehlilah actually needed him. It was only fair that she had him. Darcy knew that and now Darcy was gonna pay for it. I mean for god sake she could have anyone, why did it have to be her boyfriend.

Cara Williams

Cara had to bite her lip to keep from rolling her eyes as drama went down between Demi and Dehlilah and they rushed out of the classroom. Most people didn't get on her nerves but those two always managed to. As the two rushed out the door, they bumped into Tyler. Cara's glare softened as Tyler made his way over to her, picking the seat beside her to sit down at. Cara smiled at him, and then turned her attention back to the teacher.

She heard a voice come from Tyler's direction. She didn't actually know if it was Tyler talking or not, she had rarely ever heard his voice. She wasn't sure he was talking to her either, until she turned to face him and he was looking at her. He returned his gaze in the direction of the teacher. Cara shot him a friendly smile, happy he had talked to her. She loved talking to people and making friends, and Tyler had always seemed mysterious to her. She always wanted to know more about him. "Hi, Tyler!" she responded. She wasn't sure what else to say, so she instead waited for him to say something back to her, if he still was interested in a conversation with her.

After that, a new student walked in. Cara looked up as she entered the class, and talked to the teacher. The girl picked the empty seat that happened to right next to Cara. Cara smiled at her, and leaned in her direction. "Hi, I'm Cara. Nice to meet you."

"You talk a lot. I like that in a person. It makes for a good friend and good conversations."

Cara thought Casey talked a lot? She thought that to be a bit strange, considering she'd always been the quiet type ("Casey?! Casey, you haven't spoken to us in months now. Casey, you look at me when I talk to you!"). Maybe it was that first day jittery feeling? Or Cara's friendly way of speaking, the way she fit into her name so nicely? Or, maybe, it was just this school, a brand new start, pushing her out of her head? "My name means friend? I think I knew that, I just didn't remember." Casey chewed at her lip, head bobbing. The more comfortable she got, the longer she talked with Cara, the livelier she became, brightening up with each word. "Uh huh. In Irish. 'Beloved' in Latin. Spelled with a K, it's Cornish, and means 'love'. But I guess that's a bit irrelevant, so I..." she trailed off. "What's your name mean?" Cara asked. Casey's head stopped bobbing. Her teeth stopped gnawing at her bottom lip. Her entire body grew quiet, and she lost some of that liveliness again, inching back into her shell. When she spoke next, it was in a slow and gentle voice. "M-my name? Casey? Mmh -- I dunno." Casey loved names. It was almost an obsession, such as her fascination with eyes. Or edges. But, unlike the edges, her love of names boiled down to a lovely, simple curiousity. It was a good thing, a happy thing, a thing she enjoyed thinking about. For every new person she met, she'd look that name up as soon as she got home, assuming she didn't know it already.

But she'd never looked up her own name. She was too afraid. A completely unfounded and irrational fear, sure, but that had never mattered; she was afraid that her name would tell her something about herself, show her something new, and that it'd be something true and not so lovely as "friend" or "beloved".

She recovered herself a bit, pushing back any thoughts she had that weren't about Cara or her first day at FMH, and her smile returned. "I guess I'll have to look it up sometime, huh? How... how do you like the school? I mean, have you gone here before, or is this your first day, too? I mean, you don't act like its your first day or anything. But... I figured it'd be good for me to ask, right? Just in case?"

"So where were you from?" someone spoke up suddenly. Casey flinched; she'd been too wrapped up in her conversation with Cara to pay attention to the rest of the classroom. Looking to the young man, she gave him a cautious smile before answering. "I was born in Seattle... if that's what you meant. But I didn't live there long."

Tyler looked at the two girls who exchanged name and name meanings while he scribbled with his pencil, without realizing he had started sketching the two girls as they went about their conversation.

"You talk a lot. I like that in a person. It makes for a good friend and good conversations." He heard Cara say. Oh good, that's the least thing I do. Talking. He then started sketching faster as he grew frustrated over the matter. Just when he thought he could finally talk to Cara a new person has to show up. But he did kind of like the new girl, she seems to be the type who wouldn't judge him. Just like Lacey, damn even their names rhyme.

"So where were you from?" He suddenly spoke up, directing his question towards Casey without introducing his self, his eyes still on his sketching.

Cara Williams

Cara found it slightly strange that the girl knew so much about names, but didn't even know the meaning of her own. She guessed she just had never thought to look up her own name. Casey asked her a few questions. "No, I'm not a new student, you're right," Cara answered with smile. "The school? It's great! Most of the time. Sometimes, a few of the girls in our grade...well...there can be drama," She said with a shrug. "But if you stay out of it, like me, you shouldn't have any trouble. Maybe if you eat lunch with me tomorrow I could point them out to you," Cara suggested, hoping the girl would eat lunch with her. She wanted to make her feel welcome at the school, and be her first friend here. She also thought Casey seemed like too much of a nice and gentle girl to mixed up in the big personalities of some of the girls in grade level.

Cara practically jumped when Tyler spoke up. She hadn't really expected him to ask the new girl any questions. Cara glanced his direction with a smile, happy that he was talking. She wanted to know him better. As Casey answered Tyler, Cara pulled out her phone to check her text from Jay. She frowned when she saw Jay wanted to start tomorrow night instead, but understood his reasoning.

To: Jay
From: Cara
I'm jealous of you. So much drama. :/
Oh, alright. That's fine! Definitely tomorrow then :)

Cara tuned back in to the conversation between Tyler and Casey. "Hey Casey, what does Tyler's name mean?" She wondered aloud.

Tyler returned his attention to his sketch as he half listened to what the two girls are saying and half listened to what the teacher was discussing. Impossible as it may seem but he perfectly managed to get decent grades even if his thoughts were somewhere else, just like what was happening right now. Besides, he finds Business class to be annoying.

His concentration were solely on Cara's eye sketch when she heard him ask Casey, "Hey Casey, what does Tyler's name mean?"

It was enough to make him look up and gaze at Cara once again. And it was enough to make his hands shake, sending the charcoal pencil tumbling down the floor space between the two of them. He was still in shock, not realizing he had a stupid grin on his face for more than 3 seconds- which was pretty stupid looking for Tyler himself. He then cleared his throat and moved to pick up the charcoal pencil when he accidentally bumped into his sketchpad, making it fall as well as his incomplete work was open for the two girls to see.

He froze on his seat, trying to come up with an excuse as to why he was using them as the medium of his work. He quickly grabbed the sketchpad and pencil and closed it, dumping it back to his backpack. "Sorry," He muttered under his breath.

"No, I'm not a new student, you're right. The school? It's great! Most of the time. Sometimes, a few of the girls in our grade...well...there can be drama. But if you stay out of it, like me, you shouldn't have any trouble. Maybe if you eat lunch with me tomorrow I could point them out to you."

"Drama can..." Casey started a sentence, changed her mind, and began again. "Lunch? Yeah, that'd be great! If that's alright with you, of course. I mean, you were the one who brought it up, so I figured it'd be okay, but if it's not or it's weird or anything I..." She was starting to lose track of herself again (she had to remind herself not to do that). Taking a deep breath, she regained a smile and continued. "Know what? I'd love that."

"Hey Casey, what does Tyler's name mean?"

Cara reentered the conversation, a conversation that Casey hadn't even noticed she'd left. For all she knew, Cara hadn't heard a word of what she'd said. She shook it off. "Mmh -- Tyler's name. Tyler. Tyler is an occupational name. A tile maker, someone who works with tiles. The English could've been more... original with that, I think, but it's still very nice, and --" Thunk.

Casey drew a shuddery breath before turning to inspect the sound. Tyler sat there, with a strange expression plastered onto his face, his sketchbook open on the floor. It must've fallen. For a moment, Casey thought it must've been her fault that he'd dropped his book. She'd offended him. For some reason, he had something against tiles and the men who deal in them. But it didn't take her long to realize what was going on (she might not seem it, but Casey was very perceptive, and certainly no idiot). Tyler picked up the sketchbook and went to dump it into his backpack. On the way up, the page Tyler was working on flipped backwards to face her, and Casey saw the picture as it went into the bag. "Oh..." she breathed, leaning down to pick up his pencil and holding it out to him.

The sketch was, after all, quite beautiful.

[OOC: My sick-person mind is being annoying. But, hey, I posted. Also, I figured I might warn you guys now: I'll be gone from Friday to late Monday. I'll try to post Friday morning before I leave and Monday night as soon as I get back. Casey will have to go to an appointment or something, so that I'm not holding anybody up. Goodnight, guys!]

Just then Tyler noticed that Casey had handed him his pencil back, he had forgotten about his precious pencil after all the scrambling he did to hide his work. He smiled at the girl and slowly took it from her hand, "Thanks."

He let it roll on his desk before slamming his hand on it before it rolled off again. He then lifted his gaze towards the two girls, trying to capture still their faces. He had every intention in finishing his sketch but maybe later when it wasn't awkward.

"If the two of you doesn't have anything to do after school, I know a great place just outside of the town," He suggested. He wasn't sure how he would invite Cara alone, so he decided to invite Casey as well. "It isn't as famous and pristine as the restaurant in town but they serve good burgers and great milkshake." He continued. Hoping the two girls would say yes. But most importantly- Cara.

"Whatcha say Casey?" He tried to direct his question towards the new girl, maybe he wouldn't be so obvious towards his admiration for Cara.

Cara couldn't help but smile as Casey spouted out the meaning of Tyler's name. It was impressive. How could she remember all that? Suddenly, she heard a clamor over in Tyler's direction. She turned and saw his pencil lying on the floor. She leaned over to grab it, but stopped short as his sketch pad fell to the ground. She stared down at an image of her and Casey and couldn't hide her surprise. Her mouth dropped open.

"Hey that's really good!" Cara exclaimed at Tyler. She loved art and loved having things in common with people. "I didn't know you were into art!" She said happily, grinning at Tyler. Tyler quickly put away his work, and thanked Casey for his pencil.

Cara was pleasantly surprised when Tyler asked if she and Casey wanted to hang out after school. Jay had sorta canceled on her for tonight, well postponed would probably be a better word. It would be a great opportunity to get to know both Casey and Tyler better. She smiled at Tyler. "That sounds great. Milkshakes are my favorite!" She looked over at Casey, waiting for her reply too.

"This is your fault, stay out of me and Mike's relationship"

"Mmee?! My fault? How the fuck did it became my fault that your asshole boyfriend was a snake?!" She was mad this time. She knew she had blurted harsh words earlier but she tried making it up to Dee by showing her what her boy friend has been up to. She continued spitting out the words and throwing her arms in the air as Dehlilah walked away from her.

She let out a few curse words and marched towards the classroom, slamming the hall pass on the teacher's table as she walked towards her seat. Just in time for the bell to ring so all she had to do was to grab her stuff.

_________________________________________

After the last class, Demi hurriedly went to her room. Glad that Rosa was not around. She quickly dumped her things on her bed and changed into a pair of sweatpants and top. She arranged her pony tail into a more sporty look and grabbed her water bottle.

She needed to clear her mind and a good run would probably help her.

She locked her dorm room door behind her and stuffed her earphones in her ears as she carelessly bumped into people, not caring what they would say. She continued to walk fast when all of a sudden she bumped into an unfamiliar figure who just muttered the words, "Ah, here it is, and two others. Tyler and Destery. Shouldn't be too bad."

His belongings were sprawled around as he stood before a dorm room door. The bump was a bit strong since Demi had gained speed, it had caused her to fall on her butt on the carpeted floor. Though the soft cushion caught her fall, her behind was a bit sore from the impact as she let out a huge gasp, "Oowwww!!!"

The bell rang and Cara looked over at Casey. "Hey, it was nice meeting you. I'll see you at lunch tomorrow!" She gave her a friendly grin and turned to Tyler. "I'm gonna go back to my dorm, but you can text me if you want to go to that Burger Place you were talking about. Maybe we could sketch together, too!" She smiled at him. "You have my number, right? Here it is, just in case." She scribbled it down on a piece of paper and slid it across the table toward him. "See you!" She said and walked out of the classroom. She went to her locker, grabbed her things, then headed back to her dorm.

Once she got there, she half-unpacked her things, mainly the stuff she would need for that night. She made her bed, and when she finished she plopped down on top of it. She wondered when Lacey, her roommate, would get there. Cara suddenly realized she'd forgotten to check her phone. Two texts, one from Jay she was expecting, one from Emmy she was not.

To: Jay
From: Cara
Maybe we could switch places (: Never mind, I don't to torture you, haha.
Definitely! See you then (:

From: Cara

And I have tentative plans, but if they don't work I'll be there!

As soon as the bell rang students scurried off to different directions. He looked at Cara as the girl quipped in and said,
"I'm gonna go back to my dorm, but you can text me if you want to go to that Burger Place you were talking about. Maybe we could sketch together, too!" He smiled and nodded.

She smiled back at him then asked [/i]"You have my number, right? Here it is, just in case."[/i] Cara then scribbled her number down on a piece of paper and slid it across the table toward him. "See you!" Were her final words before she disappeared.

Tyler held the piece of paper and stared at it like a moron. Not bad Neemson, not bad. He praised his self and stood up and left the classroom with his things.

~~~~~~
The rest of the day passed by like a hurricane as Tyler went about it. Soon the classes were done and Tyler walked towards his dorm room. He noticed that the 1/3 of his room mate has already arrived and occupied the remaining bed. He quickly changed into his work clothes and grabbed his back pack and helmet. He usually do part time at the burger station he invited Cara and Casey at, he gets employers discount and a good extra income that he saves up for his grand parents. He rarely uses the money his parents' send him and would rather earn his spending money on his own. He ran towards the ground floor when someone stopped him and handed him a piece of flyer. It was about a party that was going to be thrown later that evening. He wasn't the party type but if the two girls would want to go, as well as Lacey, then that could change his mind.
He hurried to his big bike and rode off, once he arrived outside of town and to his workplace, he sent Cara and Casey a text each.
To:Cara and Casey
From: Tyler
If you still want to push through with the burger, fries and milkshake after class. I'll see you here. It's on me.
The owner welcomed him and soon enough he started wearing his apron and started flipping burgers on the stove.
Cara closed her eyes, nearly falling asleep on her bed. She was brought out of her almost-sleep by the buzz of her phone. Her eyes lazily blinked open, and she checked her phone. She had a text from Tyler, and she smiled. She was eager to hang out with him. She decided she would invite him to the party tonight, and they could go to the burger place a different time. She wanted to go to the party, and maybe bringing Tyler would help him open up a bit.
To: Tyler
From: Cara
Hey! There's a party in the dorms tonight, would you want to go? We could go for burgers and milkshakes another time?
Cara sent her reply and put her phone down on the bed next to her. She put her hand over top of it so she would feel it when it buzzed. Then she closed her eyes for a few minutes of rest.
Tyler had already flipped a few dozens of burger when he passed his apron towards the other cook. His hair was in a ponytail and under a hairnet which he removed as he stepped out of the kitchen and into the parking lot of the Burger Place. He usually spends his time eating and at the same time feeding the stray dogs by the parking lot at the back of the establishment. He sat down on his favorite plant box and started chewing on his sandwich as he pulled out his cell phone from his back pocket.
Cara had already sent him a reply and he read:
To: Tyler
From: Cara
Hey! There's a party in the dorms tonight, would you want to go? We could go for burgers and milkshakes another time?
He slightly shook his head, making the stray dog he named Buster (a lab and collie mix) look at him with curiousity. "Looks like I won't be able to spend some alone time with him buddy." He spoke to the canine, not caring if it could understand him. He threw the dog a piece of bone from the kitchen and watched as it gnawed happily by his side.
Tyler wondered if he should give the party a try. He was having thoughts about it earlier but his imagination trailed towards the thought of getting to know her over burgers and milkshakes- not beers, a crowd and noise.
He then started punching a message for Cara and sent it before swinging back to the kitchen to finish his duty.
To: Cara
From: Tyler
I'll try to come after my shift. And yeah, we can always get burgers and milkshakes some other time. I'll text you if I can make it.
Hey, are you coming to the party??
Cara headed down to Emmy's room, people were everywhere. She looked around for someone she would be interested in talking to, and she spotted Casey. She smiled, but Casey disappeared after a few seconds. Cara noticed she had looked stressed out. Cara walked down the hall, after Casey. She wanted to talk to her.
