The Story So Far... Write a Post » as written by 7 authors
It was stuffy in Josef's room. The air was hot, sticky and smelled somewhat sweet. In the corner was a pile of clothes, mixed from genders and some from different people. The curtains were closed as a soaking wet male with a towel around his waist approached them. He pulled the curtain back slightly to peek out at the light street. With the new light creeping into the dark room, it illuminated a bit. In the room there was a tall bookcase.. Never would have guessed that he would have books in his room. There was a large bed, with a figure sleeping in it? Yes, a figure. A very curvy and feminine figure. The figure's breath was steady. The male looked out the window of his house, seeing the gardener down below. He waved then opened the window. The gardener began to speak. "Hello Josef," she called, "please tell me that woman will be gone before your father gets home." He sighed, wrote something on a piece of paper, folded it then let it go down to his gardener.
WHO CARES?
The gardener sighed then Josef closed the window. He brushed some hair out of the girl's face then wrote another note and left it right beside her. He dressed quickly, throwing on a red plaid scarf. It was slightly chilly outside. As he walked out, his breath let off steam as it hit the air. What a beautiful season winter... it will be here soon. He walked down the sidewalk, headed to no place in particular.
Wednesday jumped as she felt a sticky mixture of pure carbonation mixed with a bit of chocolate milk spraying her all over. She let out a yell and tried to cover her still-recently dyed red hair, but it was no use. She could feel her hair getting wetter and wetter with every passing second, and got unfortunately turned into a citrusy-sugary mess. She groaned as she continued to attempt to shield herself from the attack. She had been planning to keep the dye for another week, but with these concoctions in it, she was going to have to change it to purple tonight.
'AAh, my hair!' She inched closer to the boxes and turned them all over to their sides, shifting the drinks and stopping the mess from growing. She looked down at herself -- she was a sopping mess.
'Awe Jamie! Really?' She looked up at him, 'I thought you had a good grip on them! Look at my hair!' She took strands of her hair and lifted them up -- it was already super sticky and staying wherever she would put them. 'You're helping me with this tonight now!' She pointed at him like a scolding mother, however with a whisper of a grin. 'I'm serious! And now we have to get more soda too!'
"Awe Jamie! Really?" She looked up at him, "I thought you had a good grip on them! Look at my hair! You're helping me with this tonight now!" She pointed at him like a scolding mother, however with a whisper of an oh so sexy grin. He resisted the urge to blush. Only Wed could pull off the wet, sugary look. She continued, "I'm serious! And now we have to get more soda too!"
"Oi, this wasn't my fault. You were the one who bumped into me. Repeatedly. And you're buying it this time," he told her defiantly before looking down at her outfit. He blushed slightly.
'Hey, I wasn't the one who was carrying the soda! And half of those bumps were accidental too!' It seemed as if neither of them noticed Sofia still standing there -- or the fact that they were in the middle of the supermarket. She rolled her eyes and picked up the soggy boxes gingerly, throwing them into the trash. After that, she grabbed his hand and dragged him back to the sodas, picking them up one by one and playing 'catch' with Jamie... Or more, 'try to be prepared as I half toss/half lug it at you and pray that you catch it,' with Jamie.
'I still can't believe my hair is now a rat's nest... I was planning to keep it this color for another week! You are SO paying for my hair dye tonight...' She pointed at him scoldingly, 'Actually, lemme run and get some now. Go get a spot in line, I'll meet up with you. Now run, Jamie, Run!' She shooed him away before turning off herself, before pausing and turning around again, yelling, 'Oh, and try to get more friendly with Sophia! I think she liiiiikkkeesss yooouuuu!' She sang out jokingly and winked at Jamie before running off into the aisles.
"Hey, I wasn't the one who was carrying the soda! And half of those bumps were accidental too!"
"Klutz," he told her, sticking his tongue out at her. He roled his eyes as she began to lug a bunch of knew soda cases into his arms before she went off to get more hair dye. He rolled his eyes at her teasing about Sophia. Really, she seemed desperate to set him up with someone. He frowned slightly at this thought. Did she really want to get rid of him so badly?
He returned to Sophia and offered her a half-grin, "Sorry about that. My dear Wednesday can be impossible sometimes. I hope you're not too wet. How's Josef?"
As Wednesday ran off to get more hair dye she turned and sang out to james Oh, and try to get more friendly with Sophia! I think she liiiiikkkeesss yooouuuu!. Sophia rolled her eyes, James wasn't bad looking, but she didn't know him well enough to like him. James turned to Sophia and half-grinned. Sorry about that. My dear Wednesday can be impossible sometimes. I hope you're not too wet, How's Josef?". Sophia grinned back. ''I'm soaked, but i sort of needed a shower anyways''. Sophia tucked a sticky strand of hair behind her ear. ''And Josef's good''.
((OOC:I'm sorry for not being active lately, internet wasn't working))
Sophia grinned back. ''I'm soaked, but i sort of needed a shower anyways''. Sophia tucked a sticky strand of hair behind her ear. ''And Josef's good''.
James couldn't help but laugh slightly. He was glad that Sophia wasn't giving him a hard time for what happened. He couldn't help but smirk slightly at Josef's name.
"So, how close are you two?" he teased.
Wednesday veered around the corner, almost knocking into a stand of sunglasses, and scooted quickly over to the hair dye. Ignoring the 'natural' colors, she started searching for the brightest purple she could find.
'Violet, Violet...' she mumbled to herself as she ran her hand through all of the boxes, over 'cherry,' 'toxic green,' and 'royal blue'. She paused for a moment over the blue, though, and grinned to herself.
'Hm... What if...' She trailed off and snatched the box, finding the Violet and picking that up as well. Wed ran back to where James and Sofia were standing, making conversation, and smiled to herself at the sight of her best friend. His simple presence always seemed to manage to put a smile on Wed's face -- she didn't specifically know why, but she never wanted it to stop.
Wednesday walked up to Jamie and tapped his shoulder, giving a smiling nod at Sofia, and turning to him.
'Sorry to interrupt this -- But can I dye your hair blue?'

'Sorry to interrupt this -- But can I dye your hair blue?'
He raised an eyebrow? Blue, why blue? Then he remembered that it was one of the colors he told Wednesday sometime ago he wouldn't mind dying his hair. Shaking his head, he grinned at her.
"Sure. Would it go with your purple hair, Wed?" he asked, "And I'd want something in return..."
At first Wednesday raised her eyebrows in surprise. 'Really?' She started to say, but her stricken expression was just as quickly gone with his next few words, replaced by a grin.
'Oh, you cheapo!' She shook her head at him. 'Fine, two large pizzas to deliver,' she spoke in a monotonous, 'I've done this way too many times to count' voice, and looked at him, rolling her eyes, 'and a kiss... On the cheek!' But, before she could finish her little 'order' she 'covered' her mouth and whispered purposefully loudly, 'cause my best friend refuses to get a date of his own!' She then straightened up and put the blue dye box next to his face, comparing the color.
'And yes, I do think it'll go with my purple hair. We'll be like some weird, twisted cotton candy.'
"Cotton Candy is good," he mused before grinning at her exclamation, "I can to get a date! I just.... Don't feel like getting one. How about I pay for the pizzas and I raise you a make out session."
He crossed his arms and grinned like he made a particularly generous offer. This was mostly bravado, though. He didn't have the courage to confession his feelings after all.
"I heard it's fun," he offered.
'Ooohh, I'd like to see you try! In all of the, what, three years that I've known you, I've never seen you bring a girl into the basement!' Wednesday poked him on the arm. 'I still have yet to see the damn day! And if you want a make out session,' she pointed to the sliding glass doors at the front of the shop, 'I've seen a lovely girl standing around the corner from here, She's taken quite a liking to you. I'm sure she'd love -- and I mean love to give her services to you, you poor desperate bastard.' They slowly moved up in line with Sofia, whom they were both lacking acknowledgement of again, closer to the register.
'You want a kiss from me, an actual kiss, on the lips -- these things,' she put her finger on her own lips, 'connecting to those things,' she then put her finger on his lips, pressing them to his face and making his head back up, 'for half a meaningless second -- then you've got to bring a girl down to the basement within a week.' She stuck her hand out before withdrawing it. 'But I will only kiss you, if I don't see you kiss the girl you drag down there. So make the date count, cause I can guarantee you, these old things,' Wed licked her lips, 'aren't anything special.'
Wed stuck her hand out once more, taking a soda box under her other arm.
'Do we have a deal, Jamie?'
"Okay, now you're just trying to torture me. How do I convince a girl to do that without her expecting at least a kiss on the cheek," he told her, crossing his arms. Okay, maybe he was being a little unfair. He kept trying to give Wednesday signs that he liked her without making it too obvious. He suppressed a groan. Why was she so difficult. Then, with a determined gleam in his eye he spoke again.
"Fine... Any girl?" he asked her before looking over at Sophia. He took a step towards her, kissed her hand and, knowing she heard everything said, "Dear Sophia. Won't you accompany me to a screening of a film in the basement of my best friend Wednesday? We'd have popcorn, soda, and the best movies Netflix has to offer."
He looked at her, trying to convey his intent. He silently promised her that he'd help her out with anything if she helped him with this.
She was surprised at first when he took a step towards her, kissed her hand and, said, "Dear Sophia. Won't you accompany me to a screening of a film in the basement of my best friend Wednesday? We'd have popcorn, soda, and the best movies Netflix has to offer." But then she realized what he was doing. ''I'd love accompany you to a movie in Wednesday's basement...'' She grinned ''but no chic-flicks, please.''
Sophia wanted to help James, he seemed quite desperate to get with Wednesday, but she didn't know if Wednesday was oblivious or was just playing hard to get.
''I'd love accompany you to a movie in Wednesday's basement...'' She grinned ''but no chic-flicks, please.''
Jame shot her a look that told Sophia he would always be grateful to her for this. He grinned back at her, "Of course. I always fall asleep to those."
He sent a smirk over at Wednesday and stuck his tongue out at her. She may have thought she had him with this challenge, but he showed her. As long as Sophia didn't kiss him, he'd get a kiss with Wednesday along with the fact he could tease her about his victory afterwards. Really, he was willing to go to great lengths to get either prize. Getting the satisfaction of winning a wager with Wednesday and getting a kiss from her as a prize was a dream come true.
Wednesday stuck her tongue out in retaliation at James' easy way out of her challenge.
'You snarky bastard. Should have specified that it couldn't be a girl right in front of you...' But it was too late to take it back now.
However, Wed was a bit glad that James had found a date with a living being. He really hadn't brought any dates into the basement for as long as she knew him, and she was even starting to consider that he might have been gay. She looked at him for a bit and blinked, wondering why he had never mentioned girls or crushes or dates before unless she had brought it up. She also didn't know why he was always asking for a kiss, specifically from her. It wasn't anything that bothered her, but it always seemed to stump her. Wednesday wasn't anything special -- just a short former-orphan who had a love for bright colors and a bad temper. She loved Jamie like he was her own family, and never wanted to lose him... but sometimes she looked at him and couldn't figure out what he really thought about her.
Wednesday blinked again, snapping herself out of her thoughts and looked over to Sophia.
'Well, if you're coming to the basement, you're welcome to bring your buddy Josef,' Wed didn't really know much about Sophia and Josef... Just that they were a bit similar to herself and James, 'I don't want to spend the whole night alone while you're getting friendly with this gem.' She ruffled James' hair and winked to Sophia. Although she didn't entirely know James' moral reasoning behind kissing her, she did know that he was itching for some bragging rights of not getting a kiss on the first date -- and she was itching for him to get one.
"You snarky bastard. Should have specified that it couldn't be a girl right in front of you..."
James stuck his tongue back out at his friend. He really wished that Wed would get a clue. There was a reason why he didn't seriously consider other girls. They didn't interest him. Not like her. She was the pretties girl he knew and the funnest. They could do practically everything together. They were best friends, but he wanted more. He wanted to be more than just friends with her. He hated it when she mentioned her own crushes and dates. No one was good enough for her in his mind.
"Well, if you're coming to the basement, you're welcome to bring your buddy Josef. I don't want to spend the whole night alone while you're getting friendly with this gem."
James rolled his eyes as she ruffled hair. He raised an eyebrow.
"Josef? I didn't know you liked brunnettes, Wed," he commented, trying to keep himself from sounding jealous.
Wednesday rolled her eyes at Jamie's comment and looked at him.
'Oh, you wish, but you know I lean more towards the colors of the rainbow.' She held the dye boxes up in one hand and shook them, adjusting the soda box under her other arm.
Even though he had just been joking with her as always, Wed couldn't help but notice something heavier in his voice, something she couldn't place her finger on. She felt a sudden pang, and couldn't help but start worrying if she had said something. Sometimes, she heard this tone in his voice, and grew to think that she had done something wrong to upset him... And that was one of the things she hated most. When Jamie was particularly down or sad, Wed could almost never bear it. With her, it was different. She got quiet, and sometimes upset, but being an undiagnosed mild BiPolar, it was just another thing she -- and unfortunately Jamie -- had to deal with. But she couldn't stand seeing her best friend down or hurt -- because she knew she could do nothing to help... she just existed with her never ending bouts and Jamie was at the other end of it.
Wed looked down and shuffled her feet forward before clearing her throat and looking to Sophia.
'So I guess that's settled then... Oh, looks like we're getting pretty close to the Queue.' She looked ahead and sure enough -- they were about one or two people away from the till.
