Sophia Reese

ImageSophia sat in her bedroom, It was painted a pale cream color and was covered in posters of bands that Sophia listened to, they were mostly rock and punk bands which her mum didn't approve of, but Sophia didn't care.

She gazed out at the rain. It was a typical Winters morning she thought and looked at her watch, it was 5 PM. Her mum had left her a list of jobs to do around the house but she hadn't even looked at it yet and the thought of school tomorrow made her sick. I should do something to pass the time she thought.

Sophia sat up and looked at the list her mum had left. The first thing on the list was ''Buy Milk'', so she decided to walk to the local shop. She grabbed her iPod and raincoat and walked out the door. Even though the rain wasn't quite as bad as she had anticipated she still put on her coat.

Sophia arrived at the shop, It was small but it stocked most of the essentials. She hoped that she wouldn't run into anyone from school at the shop as she had barely brushed her hair and was wearing tacky clothes. She picked up a carton of milk and began to make her way towards the checkout.

Katy sat on her little wooden box, holding the neck of her guitar she'd had since she was a little girl. She learned to play her first notes on it, and she was damned if she even thought about giving up such a precious memory. It was the only thing she had from either of her parents. Her father to be exact. Her hair was long, reaching all the way down her to the small of her back in curls.

With what little money she made, she could go to the shop just around the corner, and buy things to her heart's desire. Sometimes, she even got "donations" from friendly passerby who couldn't or didn't want to give money. These "donations" included guitar picks, nail polish, and old clothes.. not really old clothes, more like modern clothes that they never wore or something.

Katy felt a cool breeze of wind pass through her hair, ruffling the curls a little, but they just fell back into place. She loved her hair in curls. It was easier to maintain than it's natural straightness. Katy had on some old, worn jeans, a black leather jacket she was donated, a white tank, broken-in, brown leather boots, a black beanie on her head, and her nails were freshly painted black by a friend. She often would "crash" at some friend's houses. Mainly the ones who were either like her, or the ones whose parents didn't give a flip what they did. Katy spent the most time at Daniel's ,her best friend, house.

The weekend was almost at the end and James dreaded the thought of returning to school. He had two years left and he was already sick of high school. The trouble was he didn't know exactly what he was going to do after high school. He was good with his guitar, but he wasn't that good. He couldn't support himself with his music. And he very much doubted his parents would pay for him to goto college.

Regardless, he didn't need to think about it now. Today, he and Wednesday were out of soda and they needed more. Thus, he was walking with her in the supermarket, eying the soda with a grin.

"What's with the "Caffeine Free" craze? People drink soda for caffeine and sugar. Diet soda is an abomination. It is blasphemy to the God of Soda," he joked as he eyed a case of Squirt. It wasn't a really big brand, but he loved it.

Wednesday studied James as his gaze rested on a pack of squirt. She rolled her eyes and nudged him, grinning.

'Well go on, take it!' She walked over to the case and picked it up gingerly. Even though James lived on the stuff, she wasn't a very big fan. 'They probably only make this stuff for you, I haven't met another soul who enjoys it!' She joked as she dropped the soda in his arms, deliberately trying to shake it up. She smiled and kept on walking, picking up little packages of candy and junk food as they went along.

'I don't get caffeine free either... or Diet. I mean, Soda's basically sugar, so why bother trying to make it less sugary when all you're doing is ruining the taste? It's like an infestation, it's gotten to every brand there is --- even that squirt stuff.' She dragged him over to the Dr. Pepper and picked up a pack. 'Now see this, this golden nectar of the gods, should never be tampered with the 'Caffeine free' 'Diet' stuff. It's too good for that.'

They had somehow wandered over to the milk section, and Wed spotted a pack of Yoohoo. She gasped and yanked James over towards the case. 'Oh my god, do you remember this stuff?' She picked it up and studied it. 'I used to have this all the time when I wasn't allowed to have soda in dangerous amounts... This stuff is the best!' She paused, and peeked over the top of it, looking at James. 'Have you ever tried this stuff?'

Maisie glanced up towards the brightly colored clock that sat on her desk. She had been studying for a little over 2 hours without pause due to the up and coming exam she had in history she had coming up. Despite having already reviewed and gone over all the required work, Maisie still found herself testing and rereading the information. However, 2 hours down the line and even she was feeling the effects of boredom creeping up on her.

Stretching her arms above her head, Maisie stifled a yawn as she glanced out her window into the late morning sunlight. She should probably try and get out of the house today instead of just staying indoors and studying all the time. Nodding her head in agreement with her thoughts, Maisie went over to her wardrobe and grabbed up a few items of clothing to make her current outfit for the day. Next she moved towards her window, pushing it open so that she could look across the small alleyway that separated her and her neighbor.

Frowning slightly when she saw the closed curtains, Maisie glanced back into her room and grabbed up the small bowl of pebbles she keep by her window sill for just this kind of time. Picking up a small pebble, Maisie quickly through it against the closed glass window of her next door neighbour, best friend and secret crush, Christian Mason, making a satisfying thud as it hit the glass and bounced off again. Now she waited, hoping the other boy would of heard the noise.

"Well go on, take it!" Wednesday told him with a superior grin as she nudged him. "They probably only make this stuff for you, I haven't met another soul who enjoys it!" she told him, dropping in his arms and trying to shake the cans up as she did so. James smirked at her and rolled his eyes, shaking his head at her words.

"It's a citrus-flavored drink with loads of sugar! What's not to love?" he exclaimed as they began pile more junk food in their cart. He stuck his tongue out at her as she picked up a case of Dr. Pepper.

"Come on, I've told you this before. Dr. Pepper is a terrible mix of different ingredients. It's not really anything, let alone, the "Nectar of the Gods"," he mocked. His jaw dropped, however, when she picked up the case of Yoohoo.

"Oh my god, do you remember this stuff?" She picked it up and studied it. "I used to have this all the time when I wasn't allowed to have soda in dangerous amounts... This stuff is the best!" She paused, and peeked over the top of it, looking at James. "Have you ever tried this stuff?"

"Oh, yeah. I've had it before. I first found in the back of your fridge when I started hanging out with you. It was the last can and I practically gulped it down," he told her with a laugh. He tensed, preparing for the inevitable onslaught which he expected to follow his revelation. To distract her, he pointed at someone at the check out line.

"Hey, is that Sophia? Want to bug her?" he asked, hoping to distract his best friend and not-so-secret crush.

Sophia Reese

Image Sophia glanced at her watch. The line was moving slowly and she was eager to get home. ''Why are people so slow today'' she thought. There were three people in front of her and the lady at the checkout was desperately searching in her hand bag for some money. Sophia grabbed a packet of peppermint gum from the shelf beside her and put it in her basket. ''might as well get something for myself while i'm here'' she grinned.

She spotted two people from the corner of her eye. ''Oh no'' she sighed as she instantly recognized them as Wednesday Lester and James Jenkins. She knew them from school and it was a well known fact that James had a crush on Wednesday, But Sophia wasn't sure if Wednesday knew it yet.

She was aware that she looked awful and had her head down so that they might not see her. But when James pointed her, she realized that they were walking towards her. She felt that it would be rude to ignore them, so she paused her IPod, took off her headphones and waved. ''Hey'' she called tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear. she noticed that they were buying a lot of soda, but decided not to say anything. ''Hows life?'' she asked. Trying her best to make conversation.

Christian Mason

Christian sat on his bed and stared at the wall, completely bored and wondering what Maisie was up to. He was still in his pajamas and had yet to do anything remotely productive that day. He decided he would see what she was up to when he didn't look like something off the streets. While he glanced through his closet, he sighed to himself as he realized that with school starting in a few months he wouldn't be spending nearly as much time with her. Soon enough homework and papers would get in the way of what little time they had and they'd have to cling to the weekends. Maybe that's why he loved Summer so much, Christian realized. Maybe Maisie was what made it his favorite season, and not just the nice weather and prime opportunity for a tan.

The thought of her always made him smile; she was so different than him, but so alike at the same time. He usually could bring out her inner confidence and spirit, and prided himself on this. Maisie and he were closer than he'd ever had in any type of friendship or relationship before, and he found himself cherishing even little moments with her like her tossing pebbles at his window to get his attention. They both kept bowls near their window sill of pebbles; it had been her idea when they'd first became friends, long before this pleasant Summer's morning.

He chuckled to himself and picked out a comfortable, yet stylish outfit as always and just as he was lacing up his shoes, heard the familiar sound of a pebble hitting his bedroom window. He'd closed the curtains earlier this morning to sleep in and totally forgot to re-open them. Christian smiled and headed towards his window, notepad and marker in hand. He waved cheerily at Maisie and waited for her to write first. The sight of her always made his day a millions time better.

Maisie grinned as Christian came into view with his notebook and a wave. Returning the wave, she moved back towards her room and grabbed up her own notepad and marker pen before returning to take a seat in front of her window and right up a quick message.

"Hay! Hope you slept well :3

I'm bored of studying, want to go do something with me?"

She held it up for a few seconds so he could read the writing clearly before placing it down and waiting for his response. As she sat waiting, she could already feel a slightly blush on her cheeks as she actually took the time to give her best friend the once over. He looked comfortable and causal and he was pulling it off with ease.

It was times like this when Maisie really had to wonder what she had done to deserve him as her neighbor and best friend. It always amazed her that he had decided to stick around despite everything and remain her friend. Subconsciously her hands went to fiddle with the bottom of her top, a habit she had whenever she was embarrassed or self conscious.

Christian smiled to himself as he read her message; they both had cellphones with calling and text but Christian had always preferred this method. It seemed so much more personal and meaningful than a bunch of letters on a screen. He wrote out a clear response and held it up a few moments for her to read it and formulate a response. He saw she was blushing and chuckled to himself; she was so cute he couldn't stand it.

I slept alright :) What do you have in mind?

While she wrote, he saw that she was dressed tastefully in a shirt she'd bought with him a few months back and this made him smile even more; it was almost impossible to be unhappy with her around. He studied her while she waited with his usual warm, inviting smile, trying to think what they would end up doing today.

Maisie grinned as she reached for her pad and began to write. She hadn't really thought about anything they could do but she was happy just winging it. She just wanted to get out of the house for a little while and she always had fun with Chris so he was naturally her first choice.

"I don't know, maybe the mall or the cinema? I just need to get out, I think I'm going crazy!" >~<

She quickly flipped the pad round so that he could see before turning her attention back to a new sheet and writing down another message.

"Meet me at the back in 5."

She flipped him the message again, waiting briefly for confirmation before retreating back into her room to grab up her messanger bag and pull on her brown sandles. She moved down the stairs, skipping every second one as she moved past the kitchen where her mom and dad where having breakfast.

Pressing a kiss to her dads forehead as she passed by, Maisie made her way out the backdoor and into her garden where she proceeded to slip though one of the loose fence posts that lead to a small alleyway behind her and Chris's house. Leaning up against the fence, she began to hum to herself slightly as she waited for him to show up.

Christian read her messages and nodded eagerly; he'd been spending far too much inside this Summer and was eager to get out and get some sun and quality time with his best friend. He left his curtains open and checked himself over quickly in the mirror before he made his way downstairs. His mother was still at work, so the house was completely empty. He locked the door behind him when he left and headed for the alleyway between he and Maisie's houses.

He grinned when he saw her humming with her back turned to him and decided it might be fun to give her a little jump. He snuck over to her and grabbed her sides with a laugh, "Hey Maisie!" He greeted after he regained his composure and she turned to face him.

Maisie gave a small squeak as she felt someone grab her, turning round only to find Chris's laughing face. Feeling herself blush once more, she grinned up at him before playfully swatting at his arm. "You scared me!", she said jokingly.

Giving his arm a slightly tug, Maisie began to walk down the slightly shrouded path, turning round to walk backwards so that she would be able to talk to chris without looking over her shoulder. "So what do you want to do? There's the park, the mall and even the beach if we can be bothered to make the trip. Though I didn't really pack for the later.", she said with a grin, patting her trustworthy leather messenger filled with random bits and bobs.

"Well that was the idea." Christian teased, watching her face flush that endearing red once again. He listened to her name of a few options and walked on a moment while he thought of which might appeal more to him. The beach sounded pretty fun, but that would probably call for both of them going back to their houses to change.

"Why don't we see where our feet take us?" Christian suggested cheerily. It was better not to have plans sometimes, anyway, right?

Wednesday opened her mouth to lash back at Jamie. He was definitely not getting away with that Dr. Pepper Comment! However, before she made a noise, he turned around and pointed at a girl with no warning.

"Hey, is that Sophia? Want to bug her?" Wednesday peered around his shoulder at the girl with her earphones in, loud rock music playing. She'd seen her around school, and only really knew that her taste in music was quite alright. Wed placed the pack of Yoohoo in his arms and nudged him lightly.

'Does someone have a crush?' She teased him. 'That was quite an abrupt notice of her!' She winked at him and took his hand, walking towards Sophia. 'Yeah, let's go bother her!' She laughed aloud and dragged him towards her, watching as Sophia took her headphones and said a 'Hey' and 'How's life.' Wed nodded to her in a friendly way.

'Hey Sophia. Jamie just noticed you and suggested we say hi!' Wednesday nudged Jamie again and chuckled. 'I think we've got all the soda we need. What music were you listening to?' Wed rocked back and forth on her heels.

Sophia Reese

Image Sophia smiled at Wednesday and James. She knew them to see, but didn't know much about them other than the fact that they were best friends with each other. Their friendship sort of reminded Sophia of her friendship with her best friend, Josef.

What music were you listening to? Wednesday had asked her while rocking back and forth on her heels. Sophia liked when people took interest in what she was listening to. ''A Match To Water by Pierce The Veil.''. She answered. ''They're my second favorite band''.

''so, what sort of music are you two into?'' She asked them. Sophia was always curious about other peoples taste in music and she couldn't help herself.

"Does someone have a crush?" Wednesday teased him. James rolled his eyes. If only she knew. He laughed. He knew Wednesday well. If he wanted to avoid her wrath, he just needed to quickly change the subject. Neither of them had a large attention span, he thought.

"Nah. Everyone knows she's Josef's girl," he told her. He listened as the girls discussed music. Pierce the Veil was a good band. They sort of reminded him of a 90's rock band from the few songs he heard. He smirked at Sophia's next question.

"Well, I like rock, but Wednesday loves Pop, don't you, Wed?" he asked his best friend, knowing that pop music was the one type of music she hated. He winked at her wit ha smirk.

Wed snapped her gaze over to Jamie's sly grin. Pop music was one thing Wednesday absolutely despised. She didn't understand how those too-predictable, flat, out-of-tune generic tracks were always put on the radio. What's worse, she could never find a radio station that didn't play it. So she had to spend her money on speakers and music players that gave her actual freedom. Ugh. To think that had to be a thing in the music world.

She rolled her eyes.

'Oh yeah, I definitely love Two Directions and Izzy Agalgea... What are they called? You know Jamie, you they're your favorite artists, right?' She nudged him and smirked, but still felt the need to prove herself to Sofia.

'I love Pierce the Veil! Props and Mayhem, agh!' She made an explosion gesture from her head. 'Amazing! Disasterology too, and Bulletproof Love... Can't forget King for A Day, gotta love Kellin Quinn!' Wed turned to Jamie again, copying his smirk.

'What's your favorite song by them, Jamie? You never told me you knew them!' She took the boxes of soda from his arms to relieve the weight... But she couldn't hold them for very long herself.

"You're so cute when you're on the defensive, Wednesday," James laughed. He didn't like pop music either. In fact, one of the first things he and Wednesday bonded over was making fun of whatever pop artist came on the radio when they were trying to find good music. Some of them were just too easy.

"What's your favorite song by them, Jamie? You never told me you knew them!" she said, taking the boxes of soda from his arms. He raised an eyebrow. He knew she couldn't hold them for long. He smirked at her.

"You know that I love 90's rock, Wed. My favorite song has to be "In the End" by Linkin Park or "Bring Me to Life" by Evanescence, though the last one is early 2000's," he told her. After a bit, he saw she was struggling to hold the soda so he wrapped his arms around the soda from behind her and grinned.

"Need any help?"

Wednesday flipped her red hair mock flirtatiously and smirked, already feeling the weight of the soda boxes starting to burn on her arms. 'I'm always on the defensive, Jamie.'

She knew that Jamie had heard of Pierce the Veil, but she also knew that he was more into the nineties. She was a bit disappointed to see himself worm his way out of her question. She half turned to Sofia and mouthed along to his answer of favorite songs, shaking her shoulders in an imitation of him. She had to admit that In the End was good, but it wasn't her favorite song. Although she and him both liked rock music, they had quickly discovered that her tastes leaned towards the bands formed after Y2K, while his leaned towards before. However, they met in the middle with blink-182, but she was not too sure how much he liked Neighborhoods off of them.

She started raising her knee to support the weight of the boxes, however that only caused her to go off balance. Wednesday saw Jamie smirk and walk over, wrapping his arms around her and taking the soda.

'Need any help?' He said slyly. Although Wed hated admitting defeat, this was something she needed help with. She gave a little grin and let him take the boxes.

'Yeah, I regret this quite a bit...' She let out a breath as the weight was lifted off of her small arms. 'Thank god my arms are gonna fall off!' She did a small trust fall into Jamie and pushed lightly off of him, straightening up again.

Sophia Reese

Image Sophia grinned as Wednesday and James teased each other, They were much nicer than she had imagined and she felt she could relate to them. Her favorite thing to talk about was music and she was relieved to hear that she wasn't the only person who despised pop music. "I can't stand that pop rubbish'' she grinned. ''It all sounds the same to me.''

She was glad to hear that she and Wednesday had similar tastes in music. ''I love Pierce the Veil! Props and Mayhem, agh! Amazing! Disasterology too, and Bulletproof Love... Can't forget King for A Day, gotta love Kellin Quinn!'' Wednesday had said. ''Who doesn't love Kellin Quinn'' Sophia grinned in response. ''I'm sorta into Evanescence as well'' she said turning to James ''and All Time Low'' she grinned "Gotta love them, They're amazing''.

She saw James wrap his arms around Wednesday to support the soda she was carrying. Sophia couldn't help thinking that they were cute together, even though she knew they were just friends.

Wednesday flipped her red hair mock flirtatiously and smirked, "I'm always on the defensive, Jamie."

"Is that why you're always cute?" he teased with a grin. He chuckled when she allowed him to retake the soda boxes. He rolled his eyes as she did a small trust fall against him. He shook his head.

"We couldn't have you losing your arms," he told her as the line moved forward. He lifted his arms over her so she wouldn't be trapped between the boxes and his body. He nodded at Sophia's comments in agreement.

"They're good. Though I like angsty or angry rock the best. Billy Corgan is a genius," he stated, "Though, I love Blink-182."

Wednesday nodded in approval at Jamie's Blink-182 comment. 'They're my absolute favorite band,' she added as she walked out of his embrace. 'My favorite song is a tie between Love is Dangerous, Natives, and Shut Up... For now, anyway.... But then again there's Asthenia and Stockholm Syndrome, and Untitled is sooo good, but then again Take Off Your Pants and Jacket is amazing....' she trailed off, suddenly wrapped up in her own thoughts about blink-182. She must have lost all of her focus, because she suddenly noticed herself leaning a little too far to the right, and knocking into Jamie. She snapped out of it, laughed and steadied herself.

'Whoops... Sorry there Jamie...' She patted his shoulder lightly.

'But I love All Time Low too. My fourth favorite band, right after blink, You Me At Six, and +44.' Wednesday laughed and stepped closer to Sophia. 'If you haven't noticed, I kinda like music... Probably annoys the hell out of this gem,' she leaned to the right again bumping into Jamie, but this time purposefully.

"Hey, I like music, but you're a walking encyclopedia. Oh, well. When I'm a famous rock star, you can be my groupie," he teased her lightly, frowning slightly as she bumped into him. If she kept doing that, he'd drop one of the cases he was carrying.

The line moved forward slowly, but James was at last able to set the cases of soda down. At least, he was about to, but then, Wed bumped into him again, causing him to lose his grip on the cases, causing them to fall onto the ground. The cans spilled out of the cases, a few of the carbonated beverages spraying out of the holes they received from falling onto the ground. James felt himself getting soaked with a combination of Squirt, Dr. Pepper, and Yoohoo.
