’It was a thousand years ago when it happened, when the world below was engulfed by toxins and left unlivable. It has been so long, that people have forgotten what it was like to live a life without limits, to not be confined to a singular slab of land sitting above a sea of clouds. The time of a world with vast green expanses, and shining blue oceans which stretched as far as the eyes could see is nothing more than a story passed down from generation to generation. So much time has passed since then, that are many people now who live, believe that the stories of the world below being such a paradise are nothing more than legends in themselves. . . .

The truth behind the cataclysm which sank the world into disaster is a tale that has been long forgotten itself. Of the times before life upon Manus Luna, those who live now do not remember the chronicle of history that had forever altered life itself. Humanity has forgotten of the war between the Gods Harmonia and Discord.’

†-†-†-†-†-†-†-†-†-†-†-†-†-†-†-†

In a time long ago, before anyone alive can even remember, humans lived peacefully upon the planet below the blanket of toxins that now engulf it. The world was the mother of life, and humanity regarded her as such. They treated the world with adoration and respect, affectionately deeming the planet with the name ‘Viridis Mater.’ A name that translates to ‘The Green Mother.’

Life was humble, simple, and sometimes hard, but people always strove through it all, they survived, and eventually, they were able to flourish. Civilization took root upon Viridis Mater, and humanity began a steady march toward developing culture, a society and . . . technology. Time ticked onward, and people began to change. Humanity slowly began to forget the ways of old, of how their ancestors regarded the planet as their mother, and treated it with care. As sciences and technology strived onward, growing and quickly consuming everything in its path, the minds of people became harsh to the world, their thoughts defined by cold logic, believing in only what could be proved by fact. People ceased in treating the world with love, many thought as such, ‘Why show love to something which cannot show it back? Or that cannot truly feel?’

Humanity forgot their mother, and how it was they should treat her. For the sake of their own development, people began to tear open their mother’s flesh, digging deeply into her soils for ores and jewels, seeking out the things they desired more so than anything else. The name of Viridis Mater had all but lost its meaning to humans, as they no longer considered the world to be their mother. Machines and sciences advanced to such a point that life was so simple for everyone; people lived in large cities, and even developed such technology that they were able to raise whole landmasses high into the air. Truly, the world at this point was a sight to behold. . . .

But, as all things do, everything would eventually come crashing down—all that had been developed over the course of history by man came undone. The cause of all this has been but forgotten to those who now live, a millennium has passed by since it all occurred, and through the generations and through time, the stories of the cataclysm which nearly destroyed all of humanity has been left to the sands of time. The only stories that now remain of those times only tell of a great disaster, one where the world was engulfed in fire and flames, smoked filled the skies and lava swallowed up the land as it was torn asunder. . . . The legend says the whole world was taken under in but a single night, as a pillar of light extended up from the grounds and high into the heavens before what remained of the surface was swallowed into a sea of clouds.

The exterior of Viridis Mater was gone; the whole planet was engulfed in poisons. . . .

The only life to subsist under these sorts of conditions, existed upon the floating landmass of Manus Luna. Suspended high in the sky, above the sea of toxins below, those few people living upon the continent’s surface bore witness to the death of the habitable world, left with no world to return to, these remaining humans clung onto the floating slab of land for their very lives, for the sake of their very existence, and they made do with what little resources they had available to live. Manus Luna was a fragile piece of land, raised above the rest of the world as means of an experiment, through the use of certain crystals, humanity managed to suspend the landmass in the skies above the world. Though raised as an experiment beforehand, it was all that was left of any livable land, and it was the only thing that could keep humanity alive.

The technology of the previous era had been lost, and people were left to dig out a new life for themselves upon Manus Luna without any aid. Time would move forward, and people would be able to once again thrive upon the tiny world. In a thousand years, humanity had managed to form a fairly decent existence upon the continent, though it was nothing like the days before the great catastrophe which robbed the world of its lands, life was still peaceful. . . . Until recently that is.

After a millennium of simplicity and solitude, humanity seems to again be facing another threat, things have been occurring upon Manus Luna as of late that has not ever been recorded before in the annals of its history. Strangely powerful beasts have been showing up all over the place, and a odd air of foreboding seems to have engulfed the whole continent. . . .

†-†-†-†-†-†-†-†-†-†-†-†-†-†-†-†

This is where our tale begins. . . . Upon the continent of Manus Luna, within the largest city to dot the surface of the landmass, Portum Animas, things have recently begun to change, and change is not for the better. Recently, people all over Manus Luna have found the city’s government to be acting more as if the whole city itself were an independent country, free from the rest of the continent despite their dependence upon it. Despite the small size of Manus Luna, Portum Animas is an oddly large city, it is lumbering, and all around awe striking in reality. Though technology upon the continent is nothing compared to what it was when humans inhabited the surface of Viridis Mater, the large city itself is home to a wealth of machinery and such that makes living a fairly easy process. . . . People born here, are able to lead comfortable enough lives compared to those on other parts of the continent.

It is in this city that six young adults, whom have been blessed, or cursed, by the hands of Fate have gathered. Hiding within their souls are powers that no one can explain—though it is common and very normal for people to be born with some slight supernatural abilities in this world, it is not considered typical for children to be born with ‘gifts’ the magnitude of which these six possess. Each is able to control an element in particular; light, shadow, fire, water, air and earth. . . . The extent of which each person can bring these things under their command is truly something to behold.

However . . . because it is indeed a phenomenon for people to be born with such strong abilities, anyone who is discovered to hold such power within themselves are often detained by those who work for Portum Animas’ government, and ultimately taken to be studied by the city’s research teams for unknown reasons. . . . Those found to be ‘blessed’ with rather passive abilities, such as the ability to heal, are often left in the care of the city’s reigning church, and those with aggressive abilities, those who may inflict harm upon others, are often either left to be observed by scientists, or, if they show no signs of resistance, are put to work by the city’s leader. And, they are left to carry out tasks better left unspoken of. . . .

It is because of these reasons that anyone with an oddly potent power keeps it a secret, and it is why parents are often cautious of what their children can do, it is either because they do not want to lose them, or they are not sure if their offspring is something to fear.

The six whom have unnatural control over the six elements however, however it was they were brought up, taken by the government or raised by their parents, not a one of them is aware of why they have such strength in their mortal bodies. They do not know that they carry within them the fragments of a God, the fragments of Harmonia. . . .

Character Slots: There are six main roles required to start the roleplay, reservations are accepted, but I’m strict about enforcing a cap time on how long you may reserve without asking for an extension! If you wish to reserve a slot, ask in the OOC thread, reservations last for 48 hours from the time I confirm them. If you need more time than this, post a message in the OOC and I’ll give you a 24 hour extension. If you exceed the 48 hour cap time without asking for an extension, I will open the character slot back up and allow someone else to take it.

Okay, as far as things go, the slots below are all the slots that are currently open. I am willing to open up another slot or two if the lot of these are filled up should someone really wish to join though. However, once the slots for the Elemental Six are taken, they are taken; the only other place where slots can be opened up are the villains and humans slots. I myself will be creating more than one character, and will go onto make what I call NPC villains; secondary characters who serve as universal villains for the roleplay prior to the introduction of the main villain.

These NPC villains will be available for everyone to control and write, so long as they keep them in character according to their profiles. Everyone will be allowed to create villains like this, if they wish. There are, of course, the villains solely controlled by a single member, these differ from the NPC villains, and they don’t have to remain villains.

All characters can sway between the lines of good and evil, as long as they aren’t constantly back and forth, make sure they change sides in a realistic fashion and time frame. So, even if a character is labeled a ‘villain’ in the beginning, they can wind up switching sides along the way if you so choose. More information about creating villains will be posted in the initial posting in the OOC thread—just some basic things that really wouldn’t fit in here otherwise, to say, but there is a lot of flexibility in creating both human and villain characters, both sides are able to possess powers, on par with those of the Elemental Six.

The Elemental Six
Nicoletta Celeste Ardente ~ Ignis played by OpalePhantasmagoria
A girl born into the world housing the embodiment of flames themselves, she possesses the strength of fire, her power is Pyrokinesis.
Twilla Mavis Erubus ~ Tenebrae played by Alpha Type Shurelia
She who was given the shadows before drawing her very first breath, inside of her is the will of the dark, her power is Umbrakinesis.
Girl Three ~ Terra Reserved by Arabella13

Alex "Alexi" Reed ~ Caeli played by Mr. Baneling Squishy
The boy birthed with the spirit of the wind laced into his very bones, in him is the heart of the air itself, his power is Aerokinesis.
Syd Lastern ~ Lux played by JokerofSpades
A boy whose soul was given over to the light long ago, hidden in him is the very spirit of luminosity, his power is Photokinesis.
Nathaniel Dominic Castor ~ Aqua played by Annaky
He whom was brought into the world as a child of water, in him lies the very resolve of the once great oceans, his power is Hydrokinesis.

As far as plot development goes, while there is indeed an encompassing plot point within this roleplay that will be revealed over time, this is also very much an open developmental roleplay as well, input and subplot ideas are welcomed by all who join in. If you have an idea, put it out there, and we’ll find a way to work it in.

Toggle Rules

1. As far as posting length goes, I’m imposing a minimum word count per post. I don’t want a bunch of tiny posts, so I’ll ask that you please write at least one-hundred words per post. Also, I expect proper grammar and spelling, this is meant to be a literate roleplay so, I think that understandable?

2. No godmodding or meta-gaming. Seriously, no one really likes this, so don’t force an outcome to a battle or anything, okay? Also, no killing other people’s characters off!

3. Post as often as you’d like—I’d love it if everyone could post at least once a day, but I know that can be a bit much to ask at times. So, I’d really appreciate it if everyone posted just as much as they could. At the minimum, I’ll be asking for a post once every three days here, if you don’t, you’ll be receiving PMs about this. Nothing personal, we just don’t want the roleplay to go and die out!

I understand that real life gets in the way of online life sometimes though, so if you can’t post for a little while, please notify everyone in the OOC thread, okay? Then go ahead and try to get your character out of the limelight for a little while so the roleplay doesn’t get all stopped up and stuck. If you can’t do this though, permission will be granted to the other players to ghost roleplay your character to the extent of performing minor actions in order to get them out of the limelight until you yourself are able to return and assume control.

If you are gone for more than five days without proper notification though, your character will be put up for dibs, and one of the remaining active roleplayers will be allowed to control them until you return.

Also, there is no set posting order at all, simply, do not double post.

4. Romance is encouraged here, but not smut. Yes, one of the tags for this roleplay is ‘adult’ as I expect some situations to arise in the roleplay that aren’t exactly rated G. Buuuut, I don’t want full out graphic scenes cluttering the roleplay up, keep the situations PG-13 and make sure you follow the rules of the site too—wrap up kissing scenes in two posts, and keep the stuff separated by five posts in total. If things start taking a turn for the too graphic, FADE TO BLACK and take your hormones elsewhere. I don’t want to log onto the roleplay and find a sex scene or something really smutty. . . . ._.

You can use innuendo and stuff here, but, try not to make it the only thing your character says, give them some more depth than that.

5. As far as violence goes, it and gore are not a problem for me at all. There are going to be fights and action in this roleplay, so I expect some blood, but I don’t want the roleplay turning into some gore-laced horror story, where there is a disemboweled body at every turn, so let’s keep death and injury at a realistic level. We don’t want anyone leaving here mentally scarred, do we?

6. Reserve characters in the OOC thread, remember that there is a cap time for reservations, two days from the time I confirm your request. Also remember this; if you can’t commit to the roleplay, then don’t submit.

7. If you have a question, ask me. ^^

8. Do not post until it stated that it is time to begin, I will myself write the introduction post, and once it has been placed, then it is free game.

Lake Kalliope

Lake Kalliope by RolePlayGateway

This is the large freshwater lake located within Eden, and it is also a primary source of water for part of Portum Animas, though you can see from end to end upon its shores, it is still rather vast considering the size of Manus Luna. The waters within this lake are blue, and shining.

Tartarus

Tartarus by RolePlayGateway

The official graveyard of Portum Animas. Considering that the continent of Manus Luna is a rather small and limited place, this graveyard doesn???t actually have any bodies buried in it???instead it is filled only with small rows of tombstones listing the names of the deceased. Those whom have died are given a proper funeral, but then are cremated and their ashes scattered to the skies.

Ardente Sundries

Ardente Sundries by RolePlayGateway

A rather small shop in Finitor that sells rather random items, their selection is an odd one in that they have things here you might not find in other places. This, is however helpful, since you can sometimes track down rather rare things here.

A rather routine looking shop, sitting on the edges of Dominion Hecate, it blends in rather well due to being a magic shop, but more might lay within it than meets the eye.

The boy with the plague doctor mask stands up, his sharp paper appendages retracting, dropping what seems to be a liver on the floor. For a moment, the stoic boy's expression turns into one of purely surprised bliss. He looks at his paper gloved hands, red stained. As he opens his hands and spreads his fingers, he eyes the liver that he's dropped onto the floor, stepping on the bloody organ with gusto. A groan of pure pleasure can be heard coming from his own mouth, his fingers flex as he shakes from the adrenaline. He just felt so alive, and yet.. there's an odd sweetness, a naivety that he was so accustomed to feeling, though it was not him who felt it. His eyes now widened, not with pleasure, but now with pure fear. He knew who had this sort of innocence, but it's been years since he's felt anything similar to it... could it really be his...his beloved sister?

Breathing heavily now, a drop of sweat caressing the side of his face, flowing down his cheek, much like a pseudo teardrop, but soon enough this panic goes away, replaced with, once again, a stoic expression. No, it couldn't be his sister, she was dead, he felt it. This madness, this feeling of being truly alive wasn't him. It was something else much like him, though it was a different entity altogether. Slowly he turns around, the papers that he once donned as clothing, slowly gather into a wall in front of him. These papers slowly shine revealing a bright reflection of the girl in front of him. From the perspective of the girls eyes, he saw how she looked like. Young, though from his own complexion he looked the same, she was couple of inches shorter than he was, odd crystalline 'wings' stretch out from her back to his own interest. The papers descend into his belt in a brief whirlwind, but most of all he was intrigued by her crimson eyes... Slowly he replies," Mr. Paper wasn't hurt at all. Why are you here, little one..." He derails from the subject momentarily. "You have eyes that were once like my sister's." He looks about wondering. "There....there are two of you... Where's the other person you're with...?"

His own eyes drift slowly to meet hers. Suddenly a small giggle can be heard from a distance. He twists and turns, trying to find the source of the sound, only to be struck by silence once more. He bites his lip, wondering how tired he was...

"Ooh. That's a big mess," The young girl said worriedly. "Marisenne ended up messy, too." She gestured to the blood staining her face and limbs - the rest being mostly invisible, since her dress was already red to begin with. She stared up with an innocence that belied her words and appearance, as though she simply wasn't capable of understanding that people were now dead, thanks to her and "Mister Paper." Chances were, this was actually the truth.

"Marisenne was going to go hide after Ange played tag with a Mister Rat, ru~. Since Ange made a big mess, Marisenne needed to clean up before someone noticed, ru~. But she couldn't find a place to clean up, and ran into Mister Paper instead! It's nice to meet you, ru~!" She explained somewhat nonsensically, her odd speech patterns and habit of adding little noises onto the ends of her sentences making it slightly difficult to understand her, although what she meant was, thankfully, fairly obvious. After speaking, she stopped, placed a finger to her cheek thoughtfully, and suddenly realized something.

"Hey, wait! Mister Paper can see Ange, too? Nobody else could see Ange but Maris, ru~."

They pissed her off, they pissed her off so damn much. They always did. Whenever they showed up, she almost always lost herself to it by the time they would up and vanish. The memory of Aylin’s detainment was enough to nearly cause her to spiral out of control, to let her powers just utterly consume her. But no matter what happened, that was something she couldn’t allow was it? For the sake of her family, for Momchil and Amalia, she couldn’t just lose it again . . . she had to remain calm and collected. For their sakes, for all their sakes. They were all she had, and if she gave herself up, they were what she would lose.

Haven’t we all lost enough for one lifetime? the blonde thought to herself as her hands remained clenched up at her sides, her gaze had turned downcast, away from the shopkeeper to whom she’d given a haphazard apology for butting her nose in business that wasn’t hers.

The man had said her presence was fine, since she had actual business in his store, but he’d gone onto try to pull the agents into a fit to allow himself proper reasoning for self-defense it sounded like. During all this, Momchil and Amalia simply remained side by side one another, looking onward at the whole of the scene before Alexi’s shout caught the ears of Nicoletta, and they. Though her control still wavered and waned with her powers and her temperament, the sound of her friend’s evidential distress was enough to wrench the blonde teenager from her thoughts, and from wallowing in her own doubts and fears. Bringing her neck back upright, a look of anxiety seemed to play over her features. For Alexi to actually sound distressed, that was certainly something.

She bit down on her lip, shoved all of her worrisome thoughts to the very back of her mind, and did her best to ignore the prickling sensations she was beginning to feel in her palms, a bit of forming heat. No time for this, I can’t let it consume me. And with this, the girl took a flighty step forward before picking up the pace and quickly stepping out of the doorway of the shop to find what it was that had gotten Alexi’s attention.

Her heart skipped a beat in her chest as true anxiety hit her small body, “Oh dear Goddess. . . .” she said quietly, knowing what a Hunter was. It simply stood there, upon the roof of the building across the street, eyeless face turned right toward them, teeth and fangs showing to them fully. “Alexi . . . you and Tammy, get back inside. Now.” Nicoletta murmured to the boy as she very slowly reach her right hand down toward her leg. Even with the threat of a monster looming overhead, she couldn’t conjure up her powers in broad daylight, no she had to take other measures against it. That was the only way.

All of this just had to happen to her on the hottest day of the summer so far, didn’t it? Her mom had to send her and the twins to make an exchange at an obscure shop in the shadiest part of town, with the sun beating down on their heads . . . Csilla just had to go and send her daughter into this mess. . . . And here, all I wanted to do was stay at home, and read. Nicoletta thought to herself, keeping her grey eyes locked on the hulking monster above as her fingers slowly crept toward something kept around her upper leg.

It happened in flash, without warning, the beast suddenly sprung up from the post it had been maintaining upon the building and came flying down, right at her. Just as quickly, Nicoletta had drawn what it was she had been carefully reaching for from a holster placed around her thigh—a small revolver. Before the Hunter could land, Nicoletta had the gun aimed right at it, a tense look upon her face, “Alexi, Tammy get inside, now!” And with those words, she pulled the trigger.

Syd sat there completely confused as the lady that had called herself Nicoletta ran out of his shop. The agents had yet to answer him, so he simply stood there with an indifferent face. Right before she had ran out of the House of Cards, Syd heard the door to the Network open to Teddy carrying a massive load of the textiles with the other another 9 carrying the rest. Syd had raised an eyebrow, until the 9 looked away in shame and mumbled out a "I lost a bet with the other three, and had to hire Ted here." Syd smiled in a bland way, one of sarcasm and mischief. Ted rarely did anything to help others anymore - unless it was for the greater good of the Deck or Syd - except for when he was getting paid, so many of the guild members were losing money because they needed his help and hired him. The Ace of Diamonds then placed the textiles on the counter with a good thump and smiled to Syd as he was being paid by the 9, whose scowl could be visibly seen anywhere in the store.

When Syd had turned back to announce to the lady that her goods had arrived, she ran out the door and, what appeared to be, started freaking out. She mumbled something, and then told the Alexi boy and his friend - interesting name, Tammy - to get inside his shop. Now that his curiosity had been peaked slightly, Syd causally walked over to the doorway to see what was going on, until it hit him: Nicoletta was staring at a Hunter. When it dawned on him that that was what the kid Alexi had originally meant, his eyes widened with understanding and he nodded his head. So that's what the kid meant. Huh, it is a lot bigger than the last one I saw. What Syd was refering to was one of his jobs that he took a while back, one that had the stories going around the common room table all night.

Everybody knew of Syd's obsession with thrills, especially life threatening ones, so nobody was surprised when he took a job that dealt with a Hunter. Now, according to reports and intel, a Hunter was a massive, ferocious and man eating wild thing, larger than a car. So, when everybody heard he had taken the job, most of the Deck had finally thought that he would be kicking the bucket. What they all didn't know was that it was actually a Hunter youth, barely half the size of a normal one that had been terrorizing the client. When Syd had shown up, completely pumped on adrenaline and giddy with excitement, you could only guess at the extreme disappointment he would have felt seeing an animal about the size of a large dog running around the house, destroying the insides. What made the story so famous was the massive humor that followed: Syd took 3 hours just to chase the thing. It completely ignored him most of the time, as if he wasn't human enough for their species to eat, and kept on raiding other rooms of the mansion. By the end of the chase, Syd had been so wound up tight that the laid waste to the creature using his abilities over light, and then destroyed the entire mansion out of annoyance.

Syd did get paid though, which was why the story was known as 'The Joker and the Mini' amongst the Network.

The thing Syd was staring at though was huge, at least the size of a car if not a little larger, with teeth that could cut a man in half. He could slowly feel the blood in his veins start pumping a little faster than normal, his adrenaline starting to kick in: This was what he had been waiting for during that mission, a massive and extremely difficult opponent that could easily cleave him in 2. His tongue slowly protruded out of his mouth a little, showing his excitment, and when Ted walked over to the window and gasped, he mumbled to his Ace of Diamonds. "Get the other Aces on the roof to cover for me, but don't touch the thing: It's mine, got it?" Ted nodded to his CardMaster and ran off with the agents now starting to get confused and now frightened by the Hunter that had appeared.

And then it jumped at the girl.

Now, in these situations, Syd normally would comment on how silly she was: The smart thing to do wasn't shoot it in the face and hope it died, for it would crush your body anyway. Instead, he would have suggested that she first MOVE her body out of the way and then shoot it as much as possible. However, this didn't seem to be her style of fighting, for Nicoletta yelled at her friends to get inside as she would most likely die from the impact of the beast. Syd gave a little sigh, and then remembered that he still owed her the textiles that were inside, so instead of letting her get crushed while he tried to curb his excitement, Syd used the only skill he had to get people out of these kinds of things: running at light speed, or flitting as he called it. After the shot went off, he dashed forward at the girl's body and tackled her, sending both of them flying across the street. He wasn't sure what he hit, but Syd barely felt it anyway - damn intolerance to pain. I could be bleeding out, stabbed in the back, and I wouldn't be able to feel it.

He wasn't sure where she landed after the impact - probably not far from him, since he did tackle her, and that requires the wrapping of the arms around your target - but he still managed a simple. " You know miss, getting killed by a Hunter will not get you back your textiles."

Alexi heard the bang. He also saw Syd tackle Nicole. The Hunter turned towards him. "Woah, how about we just get out of your way, and you just...not....eat us...." he noted, backing up with Tammy, but it swept its arm at Alexi. Now, while it may have been near impossible for Syd or Nicole to see, or and still hard for Tammy to see even, but when the hunter swung, some sort of barrier made of air formed, softening the blow. This sent Alexi back into a wall though. And with a large bump on his head. He also blacked out for split second.

Left. Left. Right. Top. Bite. Right. Tammy. Nicole. Alexi. Blood. Park. Hunter. Wound. Shot.

Alexi, after regaining his head, stood up. That was......something more then archaic. It made less sense then normal. Thats when he saw the Hunter swiping its claw at Tammy. He quickly pulled him back. The hunter then swept the same claw again at Alexi, while Tammy went behind him and started doing something. Alexi moved to the right, and then back to the left as the Hunter swung its right claw. Constantly stepping back at the same time. The Hunter then however lept at Alexi, but Alexi ducted down out of the way. However, the hunter had cut Alexi off from the store. Alexi accidentally tripped and fell back however while backing away.

The Hunter tried to bite Alexi, but when he tripped, it actually helped dodge it. But then, the hunter slashed at him again, slightly wounding him. However, that's when it was hit in the head with a trash can, covering the hunter in trash. Tammy was standing behind it. "Tammy, get ba...." he started, except the hunter then looked at him, not Tammy, when he spoke. The hunter was just hit with smelly, Xibalba trash. It couldn't smell them. It couldn't smell anything really.

Now, as long as Alexi doesn't make a noise, he would be perfectly okay. He was wounded, there was some blood, but it wasn't too lethal.

Smartass. . . . That was the only thing Nicoletta could muster up from her thoughts after she’d been tackled out of the Hunter’s area of landing. She had well heard what it was the shopkeeper had said about the textiles. The teenager wasn’t really sure what had happened, but the blonde was sure of something, that it had happened too fast. The shopkeeper had gotten her out of the Hunter’s way too fast for him to have just up and done it normally. Not to mention how damn hard that had been on her, he tackled her out of nowhere, at a pace that was far above normal, and then she’d wound up getting slammed into something. Nicoletta wasn’t sure what it was she’d hit—maybe a lamppost since the pain she was experiencing was localized to one relative area and not a large part of her body.
It was her shoulder that was throbbing, her left one. Getting smacked up against something at some random speed was not good for her body . . . Nicoletta knew enough about health to get that bit of information down pat.

It took her a moment to regain her composure, and to get a bearing for her current situation and position, what was happening after that. By some ‘miracle,’ she was still holding onto her revolver through all that, and she was also slouched over, something was against her back, probably a lamppost like she thought, but she was definitely lying halfway against the ground—the pavement of Dominion Hecate was rather warm against her skin. Then, there was the pain, when she tried to move herself even a bit, Nicoletta could only muster a seethe in response, yep, her left shoulder was definitely screwed up at the moment.

Okay, the pain is not important right now . . . the Hunter is, and so are Alexi and Tammy. I can’t lie here while that monster is around, capable of hurting those two. . . . My injury can wait, as can what the hell that shopkeeper did. she thought, moving her right arm with her revolver still her grasp, using it to force her torso upward. “Y’know something, I don’t really give a damn about the textiles right now, they are my mom’s anyway, not mine. All I care about is making sure this monster here dies!” she shouted, again drawing the attention of the garbage covered Hunter toward herself. It’s head reared in her direction, and the thing’s teeth showed while Nicoletta remained where she was, breathing heavily due to the discomfort her shoulder was giving her.

The sensation of heat prickling in the palms of her hands was beginning to return to her again. . . . At this rate, Nicoletta had a feeling that what control she had over her powers was not going to hold out much longer.

Rei shifts from one boot to the other, listening to the squelching of the bloody mess under him. He pays attention to the young girl before him as he speaks, trying his best to contemplate her language, frowning slightly at the odd sounds coming from her mouth. A small sniffle can be heard as Rei notices the similarities between the girl and his beloved sister: their innocence, their eyes, their bubbly personality, and even their speech. His sister didn't always go 'Ru' much like the individual speaking before him, but always loved calling Rei many nicknames such as Rai-Rai, and Ray-Ray. A small tear flows down his right cheek soon to be followed by two more on his left, showing the childish persona of fear and despair, which his stoically murderous facade usually veiled. Rei missed his sister. His mind started to fade as he reminisced about the past, the memories he's shared with the sibling who loved him so dearly. The nights of singing her to sleep, and vice versa, time spent learning how to make origami animals, time spent laughing and giggling, a paradise that soon ended through the selfishness of his own blood. Rei's fists clench tightly as he bites his lip drawing blood across his flesh, the taste of iron glazing his palette. More tears start to cascade down his cheeks, making him look eight years younger rather than being eighteen. He soon starts to tremble, until the sound of a giggle is heard, causing him to freeze. He shakes his head, wiping the tears from his face, sniffling some more.

After a few more deep breathes, Rei slowly looks at Mari once more, looking straight at her own eyes. Their height difference was only five inches, so when Rei knelt down, he was looking up to the innocent face that stood before him. His own mind starts to calm down, feeling the innocent persona flow from the young girl. Rei's empathetic abilities sensed two personas..., or rather, one and a half? Slowly Rei starts to reply to her, "I can't....I can't see who this other person is, but I can feel her. She's....very much like me...so much that I thought it was myself that I felt instead..." He rubs his chin in deep thought. "Could that be you...? As two people at once...?" Sighing, he shakes his head, his hand automatically going to the girl's bloody cheek, his blind eyes exuding calm pity. "And what happened to you...? Why are you so bloody right now... come on...let's get you cleaned up...." A slip of paper flutters from his belt to his hand. As the paper flows over his fingers, the texture becomes akin to that of a silk handkerchief. Rei blushes, the memories of him doing this to his sister, a small flash of a kind smile flowing over his face. He brushes her hair, still cleaning her face with the small paper. "My name is Rei...R-e-i. You can also call me Mr. Paper if you'd like. And...and is your name Ange little one?" Slowly more papers flow from his waist, wrapping around her in a small jacket of white momentarily before flowing back into his belt, most of the blood on her clothes dry, the blood on her limbs wiped away. Rei smiles ruffling her hair, quietly remarking, "We should get new clothes for you right away...but now you look better without the blood, so you're all cleaned up... You have very pretty...wings." Rei smiles a drop of blood dripping from his bit lip, not noticing that the small giggles weren't from her...they were all in his head....

"Amazing! Mister Paper is amazing! He knows about Ange, ru~!" The enthusiastic child said, grinning from ear to ear and doing something that appeared to be a cross between a victory dance and bouncing up and down to express her joy at finally meeting someone who realized that her friend was there. Although most people - especially those with unusual abilities - would have had her too scared to approach them, or stay there for too long, this boy was different. Not only was he like her - bullied because of his powers - but also he seemed to know so much about her after only having met her once. It seemed to her naive and "innocent" mind that he was clearly destined to be her new friend. And to her, that was more than enough to trust him unconditionally. This was fortunate, since her trust somewhat reduced the effects of her crimson eyes upon Rei, meaning her excitement at meeting him didn't cause the maddening ability to take hold more quickly.

"No, Marisenne isn't Ange, ru~. At least, not most of the time. Ange is Marisenne's friend, but she can't seen or felt, so sometimes Marisenne lets Ange use her to do the things she wants to. It's probably very boring and lonely being stuck in Marisenne's head all the time, so Marisenne lets Ange out to play when she wants to, ru~. That's why Marisenne is all messy now- Uu, that tickles!" Her statement was cut off by Rei's kind gesture in cleaning her up, the smooth texture of the paper napkin inducing a quiet giggle from the distracted child. "Marisenne is messy because Ange went out to play tag, ru~." This final explanation seemed to carry a hidden weight behind it. The mysterious Ange living inside the child - evidently named Marisenne, since that seemed to be the term she most referred to herself by - and sometimes using her body to "play games." While it was fairly obvious that Marisenne couldn't recognize the frightening visage she had sported, soaked head to toe in blood, or in the significance of the crimson claret she had bathed in, it was a fairly sure guess that this unknown "Ange" - the one who had, according to the child, done the deed- knew exactly what it was she had done. It seemed that these games of "tag" Marisenne let Ange play were something much darker and more terrifying than any simple play.

Smiling softly, Rei finishes wiping up Mari, the last piece of paper flowing down his arm to his belt. He gently pats the young girls head, ruffling her hair, trying to comprehend everything she was trying to say. He starts to contemplate for a moment, was this girl housing a whole new being or soul within her? From what she's been saying, it seemed to be the case, and yet, from what he's feeling himself, the two emotions of innocence and bloodlust were intertwined together somehow....flowing with each other as one being. Is it quite possible that this girl holds an alternate personality? It didn't make sense to Rei at all, in fact it was viewed by him as downright preposterous. These feelings of bloodlust are much like his, albeit he looked as if he were young, he was still an eighteen year old, and he was sure he had a mind of an eighteen year old, if not, older. The girl in front of him was young, younger looking than he was. For such a young and innocent child to have a persona that had a lust for death that competed with his own was just plain ridiculous. And yet, this was no ordinary child. From what he can tell, those wings on her back weren't just a prop or costume, they were very much real. Yet, he wasn't phased by this fact, much like her he was also odd, even more so. Shaking his head he starts to stand up brushing himself off. He smiles softly, reaching out for her hand. What secrets did this girl have, or what is she trying to hide? He knows that he'll find out eventually, but for now they've got to get out of here. The gore filled mess in the alley would take too long to clean, so they're going to need to leave soon or risk getting caught. Rei extends his hand closer to Mari, wanting her to hold it. "Come on, Mari... let's go before someone finds the mess. We've been hanging here for too lo-"

Rei's eyes widen as his sentence was interrupted by a pair of shouts, on the other side of the alley behind Mari. "Oi! There he is! He's the one who took out Brand and his mates! He's a bloody monster! Shoot him!!! SHOOT! HIM!" These shouts were immediately followed by the sounds of numerous gun shots, all headed for the back of Mari. He closes his eyes, there was no time to get a shield up, nor was there time to retaliate. He tackles Mari, wrapping her in his arms in a bear hug, twisting around to run to the other direction, but not before falling after a few steps. Rei screams as he falls, falling on his side to prevent falling on Mari. Blood and small wisps of smoke flows from his shoulder and knee, a small cut on his side from a bullet graze. He curses himself for not being able to notice these thugs right away, too focussed on Mari, ignoring the different tastes of emotions around him. He also cursed himself for not noticing the familiar taste of emotions from the previous fight. The signal was weak, but he was too late to notice that it was gone. There was a fifth boy, a bit late in catching up with his friends, only to experience their demise just a few moments ago. His head twists to look at Mari, a little dirty but still okay. Papers start to flow out onto the ground, snaking around weakly. No good, he didn't have as much control because of his injuries. His eyes widen as he hears the clicks of reloading and walking. "Shoot him again! He's still moving!" Rei twists onto his back putting his hands in front of him as a small and weak torrent of paper twists in front of him forming a crude shield in front of them. The shield begins to break down as each bullet hits the wall of paper. Rei coughs a bit, his shield shuddering at his lack of focus. He weakly turns around to Mari, "M...mari! Run f-far away! M-mr. Paper'll be okay!"

"Okay-" Marisenne agreed cheerfully, and was just about to turn and walk away when she noticed the people standing in the entrance to the alleyway. She stopped, turned, and, her eyes widening in surprise, she pointed to them worriedly. "Mister Paper, they found us, they found us! Trying to tag us, tag us!" She exclaimed. It seemed that although she viewed this as a game, an inkling of just how dangerous their situation was had been revealed to her. She didn't have time to continue her warning, however, for she was once again cut off by her new friend tackling her, the sound of gunfire and bullets whizzing through the air bringing back old, painful memories of her escape with Ange, of the night she had finally broken free and gotten her revenge. The pain she had felt had been horrible, and just thinking of that terrifying place brought a chill up her spine. She began to panic. Were these bullies here to try to take her back? Or maybe they wanted to drag Mister Paper off to that frightening place? No, no, no, never go back, never go back, never let them take another there again! A flare of light entered her crimson eyes, and she stood, her skin pale but her expression resolute, a slight, out-of-place smirk forming on her lips. Suddenly, she spoke with a voice much more composed, and much colder than before.

"Boy," She said simply, glancing down at Rei, her bearing the regal air of a monarch commanding a lowly peasant to stand aside. "Don't look into my eyes. I don't like it when my companion's toys break so quickly."

And with that warning, she turned, and stepped forward. Running a hand across the paper shield, she spread a stream of blood across its surface. As she removed her palm, she grimaced, and the flesh of her hand, suddenly torn and ripped in several places, began to knit itself back together before Rei's eyes. In that instant, thousands of multicolored crystals began to take form across the paper's surface, scattering the second volley of bullets like chaff before a hurricane. The shield tore apart, and the young child stepped through the breach, a downright sadistic smirk on her face as she walked forward, her eyes and wings gleaming maliciously.

"Where'd she go?!" One of the men exclaimed, looking around frantically. The others followed suit, searching for her everywhere, unable to see that she stood right before their very eyes. Ange's madness had taken hold, and was spreading throughout their weak minds like a raging flood. Several began to cry out in surprise - some even screamed in terror - as a multitude of bizarre eldritch visions appeared before them.

"Foolish mortal, you will not understand, nor could you understand. To think that you deceived yourselves into such arrogance as to try to break one of my toys - for shame! - but when you are alone in the dark you are nothing but simpering cowards. Where is your pride now? Dead and gone, as you soon will be too!" Ange laughed mockingly, spreading her wings wide as the crystalline wall behind her shattered outward, a storm of tiny darts tearing forward like a raging wave, consuming all in their path save for their master, who stood unharmed at their center as they scattered around her. In an instant, each of the men had been struck by uncountable numbers of the projectiles, and, with a psychotic smirk of glee, the black angel snapped her fingers.

"Burn in the pit of torment, you blind little HUUUUUMAAAAANNNNSSSS~!" She jeered, watching as, in a flash of multicolored light, a tremendous release of energy literally tore the men apart where they stood, her power ripping them to pieces before they even had time to scream. When the light cleared, the only things left were the bits of flesh and bone and the droplets of blood that fell like rain. Casually, the young child picked up a torn canopy of paper, and held it up over her head, using it as a makeshift umbrella to protect her from the deluge of gore. Closing her eyes, she spread her arms out and laughed, crowing madly with her triumph as the bloody rain fell all around her, soaking the ground in a sanguine, sticky mire. As the remains finally stopped falling, Ange dropped her paper shield, and slumped her head, the last strains of her laughter dying out around her. Her wings once more folded upon her back, and slowly, her head rose.

"Oh, dear," Marisenne murmured, looking around her. "Ange tagged them back, Ange tagged them back. Hope Marisenne's boots don't stain, ru~."

Syd gave a little smirk when he heard her shout out “Y’know something, I don’t really give a damn about the textiles right now, they are my mom’s anyway, not mine. All I care about is making sure this monster here dies!” She seemed to have her head screwed on straight for somebody that had no clue what she was doing. Or maybe she was just that ignorant? All she had to do was run away with her things, and this Hunter would tear apart Xibalba until he killed it (and, by judging the size of that thing, Syd reconed it would take a lot of bullet holes. He really didn't want to ask Azrael to shoot but if he had to...). Now, as a person of her social standing, that seemed pretty good for her: she got her things, and an apparent threat to her society would be vanquished for a while. Syd just found it hard to not laugh at the fact that she wanted to stay, but he didn't - it was her choice, so it wasn't like he cared much about it.

The Hunter had been momentarily dazed by the trash can flung at its face, which was a useful idea he had to say, but since the girl had opened her mouth, the Hunter knew where he was going to get itself a snack. While that was going on, Syd looked down at his shoulder and swore under his breath. Although he couldn't really feel it, he could see his shirt soaking up with blood as it ran down his left arm.. Wait... where did my jacket go? In his intense speed, his tear-proof jacket had been flung off his body and a few feet away on the pavement, exposing his grey striped long sleeve. Now with a long, jagged tear through the left forearm. Shit.... I liked this one. Hopefully somebody can sew. His vision was blurred for a second, and he swore once again - his forehead had been cut as well. He hung his head in annoyance, and then stood up, unaware of his body's true injuries because he couldn't feel them. Syd shook his hair from his face and stared at the Hunter, who was now advancing on Nicoletta once again.

Syd looked sideways to see the roof of his shop, where four heads were peering over the edge to watch what was going on, with one aiming through the only sniper they had available - Azariah, to be more precise. The guy had a wicked shot, but Syd wanted this one for himself. He needed the rush of pure bliss as he took on something that was easily 5 times bigger than him, and mercilessly butchering it as it probably had done the same to some poor fellow who was now in its digestive track. His excitement level was slowly starting to rise once more and he quickly drew his pistol, aiming it at the beast. With a smile, he fired right towards its head. Before it even turned towards him, he had already started running to a new location, his feet effortlessly and softly jumping from one leg to another, until he was not far from Nicoletta, before he fired again, and repeated the same process once more, in an attempt to not just confuse the beast, but annoy him.

And every time he would fire, he would stick his tongue out in giddiness.

Remember. No Light powers.

Her grey eyes were kept locked upon the monster before her, the Hunter. The expression was a tense one, and her whole body was kept rather still, the thing advanced toward her, but she wasn’t moving from where she was more or less seated upon the pavement, her back half against the lamppost. She should have been trying to move out of the way, but with how her body was feeling, would it have really done her any good to bother trying to dodge yet? The Hunter was smothered in Xibalban garbage, cutting its sense of smell off, leaving the beast only with its hearing to identify the locations of its target—its prey. And because of her need to speak before, that prey just so happened to be her, and she knew that. Against a Hunter, she couldn’t do much of anything on her own, she wasn’t like Vincente, and she definitely wasn’t like her sister . . . she was not a beast hunter like her elder sister Isolde.

No . . . she was the bookworm of the family, the lax one, the girl who preferred to remain indoors, reading or writing, fighting monsters wasn’t her forte. Even if the Hunter was coming for her, Nicoletta already knew that it wouldn’t be so simple for the beast to make a meal of her bony self. She could feel it, control slipping from her grip. As if the irritation caused by those officials before hadn’t been enough of a catalyst to shake the reigns she had over her fire, the threat of death looming overhead well might add enough of a spark for her to lose control completely.

She wasn’t going to die there, becoming the meal for a monster on the streets of Dominion Hecate; her family had already lost enough after Aylin had been detained, Isolde slipped away and become someone else entirely, Vincente nearly died, and her parents had drifted so far apart. If she were to die . . . what would become of everyone then? And what of the twins? What would the two false humans do if she died there? Momchil and Amalia, although they were still adapting to living like normal people, they had never yet dealt with the reality of death. And I will not let those two experience that sorrow. . . .

With her steely eyes shut, Nicoletta heard the sound of nearby gunfire—causing her to lift her head upward, surprise written over her young face. The Hunter found itself pierced by bullets, its tough flesh suddenly vulnerable to something. Nicoletta watched the orange thing slide to a sudden halt, a shrill roar coming from its throat as it succumbed to the pain, and began oozing a strangely green blood from its taken wounds. The shopkeeper of the magic store her mother had sent her to was attacking the thing himself, doing pretty damn well for someone who seemed to mind a simple shop. Everyone has their own story, and are who they are no matter what. she thought, gunfire continuing, the Hunter’s confusion persisting onward.

The whole sight of the battle honestly reminded her of how Vincente handled himself, being fleet of foot rather than relying on brute strength, like Isolde. Ha, I suppose he and my brother have another commonality. . . . Nicoletta laughed to herself, letting her neck drop down as she felt a spike within her body, a sudden rise, the prickling plaguing her beginning to feel like waves of needles piercing her flesh through.

“. . . .there is not much time remaining before I’m consumed, and control is lost. Then, I will be revealed. I cannot allow that to occur.” She told herself quietly, her hand finding its way to the lamppost behind her, gripping onto the rusting surface of it tightly, using it as a support as she forced herself back up to her feet. If the risk of losing control is present, then, maybe I ought to go ahead and take advantage of what I can do, and channel it best I can. It wasn’t impossible for her to actually use her gift and keep it clandestine, after all. . . .

Quickly enough, Nicoletta was looking up, ignoring the pain she was feeling from the knee she had managed to bruise earlier, and the throbbing from her banged up shoulder as well, her decision was made.

With both of her hands gripping onto her revolver, she sprang to life, hastily moving herself to the side before aiming at the still confused Hunter. Taking the thing down without losing total control of herself was not going to be easy, but at the very least, she wasn’t working entirely alone in her efforts, even if said efforts were being conducted separately. As she continued moving, Nicoletta silently moved her left index finger up from its place upon the handle of her gun and placed it at the side of the bullet chamber, pressing into the metal before quickly removing it, and pulling the trigger.

Sure, she wasn’t cut out for these sorts of situations like her brother and sister, but she did at least have a few tricks up her sleeve with what poor control she had over her powers. . . . One of those being what she had just done—infusing one of the bullets of her gun with her fire. It was sudden, and she kept moving even while it happened . . . but in mid-air, before the bullet Nicoletta had fired made contact with the Hunter, the projectile seemed to break apart, fragments of smoldering metal scattered from the once solid shot rained upon the monster, causing it to howl out in pain, rearing around toward the direction it’d been hit from. However, the assailant in question was still on the move, disregarding the pain she felt.

All Nicoletta could do was hope that no one realized that bullet had exploded on purpose. . . .

Lan Fan:
What a strange child Lan Fan had run into. She saw the girl in the shadows after pouring rose petals on her. The girl seemed very shaken as she inched away from Lan Fan in the shadows. “Hey, Are you okay?” She asked the girl before lending her hand to her. Instead of accepting the hand, she scooted back.

It didn’t take long to realize that the girl was fine, but very fearful and shaken. Maybe she didn’t want to be noticed or she didn’t like people much. “You know… I’m just going to go. I have something I need to be doing.” Lan Fan turned and took a few steps back before noticing that she hadn’t given an apology to the one she had knocked over. “I’m sorry for the trouble.” She said before leaving the girl in the shadows.

Twilla:

“Hey are you okay?” The strange woman asked. Instead of answering, Twilla whimpered. What did she want? If she was going to offer her a helping hand, this woman had to want something in return. People never liked Twilla and the last thing anyone ever did was try to assist her. On top of that, this particular person had thrown dead flowers at her. Little Miss Shadows eyed the woman suspiciously.

It didn’t take long for the woman to realize that Twilla was not a normal girl. She clenched her hand and turned away. She returned Twilla’s gaze of Suspicion with a more curious look. “You know… I’m just going to go. I have something I need to do.” The odd woman turned away and began to go her own direction.

When Twilla thought she had finally gotten this stranger out of her hair, she stopped and turned back around. “I’m Sorry for the trouble.” She said. This time, she left for good. Thank goodness. That woman put Little Miss Shadows on edge.

Shaken, Twilla stood and resumed tracing the shadows of the city. As she traced to shadows, she noticed that the shop with one of the worst reputations had some strange activity going on… Twilla stayed a block away from the creepy place… Who knew what had been going on and her mother would not like it if she caught wind of her daughter being up there. Then again… If she found out Twilla had been up there, maybe she wouldn’t force her into the sunlight anymore… Or maybe she would force her into the light with super vision… Ugh… What a pain…

Unsure of the results, Twilla decided to observe the situation. If things weren’t too serious, she would go there and hope this meant her mother would never force her out in the sun again. If it was… She would just head back home and hope the door was once again unlocked.

A flurry of emotions pierced Rei painfully during these few moments, so much that his bullet wounds felt like nothing to him. He lies there, trying to keep the shield up, trying to protect the first friend he's ever had, the friendship that was formed just a few minutes ago. He's never felt this way in a long time, having the need to have something to protect in his life. The idea of having absolutely anything precious to you was just plain wrong to Rei, a burden that will possibly kill you. But Rei felt quite different, of course he was correct about the killing part, but this wasn't a burden, not at all. He felt refreshed finally, a sort of bliss that rivaled with the bliss of death. He finally felt a cause, a cause that he would fulfill in these last moments, a cause that will help him attain peace of mind. Rei, although blind, closes his eyes, it was time...or not. Suddenly a surge of pain fills Rei's mind. Grasping his head he is able to shakily keep the shield up, but it quivers and wriggles, struggling to retain its shape. He starts to grind his teeth, wondering what could cause such pain. He heard the remnants of a small girl's voice, "Boy. Don't look into my eyes. I don't like it when my companion's toys break so quickly." But Rei didn't need to look into her eyes. He felt it, he felt her madness exuding out of her already, crushing and piercing into his brain. Rei could only roll and groan trying to keep his own sanity, but alas, it was done in vain. He didn't notice the new...the darker and more twisted version of Mari prepare to kill these men, instead his mind was slowly being assaulted into a deep void of insanity. But suddenly the pain dissipated. Rei opens his eyes.

He was standing up, but...but now he was at home in his room, and in front of him stood his little sister. A smile fluttered across the boys face, as the girl in front of him giggled. He didn't question whether or not this was an illusion, whether his sister was alive or dead. He didn't even question himself when he obviously was given the ability to see. Instead he smiled at her sweetly, just staring at each other for what seemed to be an eternity. He blinks once, and his sister is gone momentarily. He once more his sister is there again, but the smile that was donned unto her face was gone. He blinks once, she's gone, he blinks again, and this time he sees a more battered and hurt version of his sister. There were small cuts all over her body, her nails digging into her arms, the only sound was her soft whimpers. He blinks once more, and opens his eyes to a terrifying sight. Her sister screams at him, clawing at her eyes, each orb being ripped out as she exclaims in pure terror, "I have her eyes!!! I HAVE HER EYES!!! I have her eyes!!! I have her eyes...!" Rei starts to run for her sister, trying to stop, but no words came out of his mouth. He runs towards her even faster, hoping to stop this madness, but instead the distance between the two children grow. As he runs, Rei trips over, falling down into a pit of darkness, closing his eyes in sheer terror, opening them once again to find himself on his back, a bright light blinding him. Was it just all a dream...? The frail boy tries to stand up but finds himself unable to move. His eyes adjust to the light, finally able to see where he was. From what he sees, the background around him is pure darkness. He looks down where he was lying, and slowly his eyes become consumed with pure horror at the realization of where he was. It seemed he was strapped onto a lab table, and before he could cry out for help two arms that have been gloved in latex and a scalpel on hand. The empty hand places itself on the boy's forehead, using its thumb and index finger to open his right eye's eyelids. The scalpel descends slowly as a whisper fills his ears. "You have her eyes."

And as the blade slowly descends, Rei screams finding himself shrieking on the pavement holding his head, followed by a sudden feeling of bliss. He looks around hazily finding all of his adversaries dead...and Mari in the midst of the gore. Rei could barely hear her...something about tag and being tagged....but it didn't matter to Rei, because a few seconds after he fainted into a deep and dreamless sleep, from the lost of blood and the traumatizing experiences from the madness. All from just one little girl.

(sorry for the delay)

Alexi stood up, still bleeding, but not excessively. Tammy was standing a few fet away. Any noise and it would follow, the stentch was still strong on it. But it was slowly falling off, and it was getting used to the smell. But their smell was newer, because of the sweat. Sweat from panic, fear, and such. Alexi looked for anything that could help. But other then a street light, there wasn't much.

Of course! Alexi positioned himself in front of a street light, and Tammy looked around, grabbing a piece of wood and staying back a little. The hunter was hurt then, a bullet exploded mid air. Alexi found himself curious, noting "Since when do bullets explode in mid air?" That got the hunters attention. Thats when Alexi whistled. The hunter looked at him, and it leaped forward. Alexi dove out of the way, and the Hunter knocked over the street light sort of, making it tip over and revealing some wires, along with leaning on the store they were at before. No real damage though.

THats when Tammy through the piece of wood away from Alexi, and it started to follow it, but its sense of smell was regaining, and it began to look at Alexi and Tammy. Tammy and Alexi ran over to the street light, putting out a severed cable. The hunter leaped towards them now, but they stabbed it with the loose electric cable after ducking out of the way. The hunter had a ton of electricity go through it, essentially electrocuting it.

"I don't like Hunters. They don't play fair" Alexi noted, before collapsing. Too much action. Now he needed bandages.

Syd Lastern

Syd had originally questioned the girl when her bullet exploded, but shook his head, dismissing the question. Sure, he was pretty sure that a girl armed with a petty revolver would not have the scientific know-how to somehow make a bullet explode in mid-air, but weirder things had happened before. Syd knew that first hand, so judging wasn't really in his best interests, nor was judging. The Hunter was disoriented from the blast, that was all that really mattered, but now he was starting to get slightly annoyed by the fact that he couldn't claim the kill of this thing for himself - with the Aces on the roof, they would recall the tale later that night, and most likely the Network would dismiss the slaying as a group effort. This got on Syd's nerve, since he seriously wanted to take on one of those things by himself and butcher the crap out of a creature most of the planet feared.

What caught him off guard were the two little pip-squeaked characters that knew Nicoletta - if he recalled correctly, he had heard the names Alexi and Tammy called in their general direction, so that was probably their names. The one with the brown hair started to question Nicoletta's mystery bullets out loud, which Syd knew was a stupid decision. However, he instantly saw through the plan of the kid, and gave a small grin. The Hunter smashed into the lighpole, and then jumped right into the electrical cables of the street lights, and Syd watched as the massive creature was zapped til death. His smile was short lived, and turned into a small and narrow scowl - not only did he need assistance, but somebody else killed the damned thing, not even using their own skills. Just dumb shit luck. He gave a sideways glace at the barrel of Azrael's sniper, only to see the Aces simply shrug their shoulders, and his scowl deepened.

I don't like Hunters. They don't play fair" Syd seriously wanted to make a very rude comment at that moment, somewhere along the lines of 'No shit Sherlock' but he kept his lips closed. Now wasn't the time to aggravate children, especially with the possibility of cops flooding the area soon. It didn't help that cops were already in his shop, and his eyebrows narrowed slightly. He turned back to his shop, and then walked toward the Hunter that was still attached to the live electrical current. His shadowless body slowly paced its way over, and instantly touched the monster. Instantly his body began to course with electrical energy, but he didn't mind it at all: it was more like a recharge than a deadly dash with death. While he touched the beast, he also examined its odd body, looking for weaknesses in its armor-like skin and ways to exploit them. When he was finished, he removed his hand and stood straight up, and stared at the sky. A small smile grew on his lips as he spoke out to Nicoletta.

"Well, your textiles are waiting for you and your siblings on the counter of the shop. I advise you to get them quickly before the cops fill the streets, armed with their papers and pens." He gave a dry smile before he looked her way, then started heading back into his shop. "Ah yes, I guess I should get rid of this Hunter as well." He stopped, then dismissed his thoughts and continued to walk towards his shop. "Never mind, Xibalba always has a way of getting rid of things."

As the best fell to electrocution, Alexi fairing little better from the injuries he’d taken from the Hunter himself . . . Nicoletta found herself not doing quite so well herself. Her shoulder was aching, and her body was throbbing with the need for her inner fire to release itself from the previous battle. It desired to incinerate something. . . . But, there was nothing left o burn up without revealing herself, her status as a Gifted. Death no longer loomed over her head, her life was no longer threatened . . . so why was it that her powers still desired destruction? In this state, what would happen to her? Could she keep control over herself, and resist the urge to burn?

She heard well what was going on around her, and she remembered why it was she’d come to Dominion Hecate in the first place, who’d she come with. The textiles, Momchil, Amalia . . . here for her mother. Her family was still there, and she still had something to do on that hot day, she had been sent to do something simple and had wound up getting caught in a battle with a monster like her sister fought. Mom. . . . I said I’d get your bolts of cloth. Nicoletta reminded herself, her eyes shutting as her small body began to shake from the sense of her powers beginning to overwhelm her. The blonde stood where she had stopped after the battle had abruptly ended, her head cast down toward the ground, her arms hanging limp at her sides, the gun still in her hand. While her shoulder ached in pain, Nicoletta herself had begun trying to stave off the heat that was coming from her bones.

At this rate, she was going to be consumed.

"Well, your textiles are waiting for you and your siblings on the counter of the shop. I advise you to get them quickly before the cops fill the streets, armed with their papers and pens." she heard the shopkeeper speaking to her, but . . . it sounded muffled, completely so. The sounds of Portum Animas were dull in her ears. So, though it seemed rude indeed, the teenager gave no response to the man’s words, simply she stood there as before.

I’m losing the battle . . . the fire is going to win, isn’t it? she questioned herself, body beginning to quiver as her heart sped up in her chest. A nervous gulp came from the girl as in her moment of panic, she found the grip upon her revolver loosening to the point that she let it go, the thing clattering to the pavement below. If I let go now, I’ll end up following in Aylin’s footsteps, I’ll be detained, and forced away from everyone.

Nicoletta didn’t want to have to let go of herself, she wanted to keep a hold on this, of herself and her power, she didn’t want to be shown as a Gifted. But, she wasn’t even sure if she could keep on going as this felt, her body was beginning to ache so much from it. . . . The heat was beginning to consume her from the inside out, her bones felt as if they were on fire, her skin and muscles felt as if they were melting. Tears began to run down the girl’s face as she continued her inner struggle to keep her grip. But, without meaning to, words slipped from her lips as she found for control over her own body, “C-Can’t . . . I can’t keep this up. . . .”

Without warning, she dropped to her knees and her body lolled to the side hitting the hot pavement with a thud. No, Nicoletta was not yet unconscious, but she couldn’t keep standing and holding it at bay. “Go-going to lose it.” She mumbled, voice wavering as her form suddenly tensed up, and her eyes clenched shut. And . . . just as it felt as if she were going to go up in flames and consume everything around her with her fire, incinerate and burn so much, something broke her of those terrible feelings and thoughts.

A voice called from nearby, a voice she knew so well, “Nicoletta!!” Even if she did at times pretend to be annoyed by the owner of that voice, at that moment, the blonde girl could not have been happier to hear it.

Her body felt like it had gone numb for a moment, as she struggled to move her head to look in the direction of the voice who’d called for her. Tears still came from her eyes while the throbbing resumed, yet a weak smile worked over her face as a name came from her lips, “V-Vincente. . . .”

Into view, a sword-toting young blonde man came into view, sharing the same grey eyes as Nicoletta, a look of worry etched upon his face. Nicoletta looked at him, happy to see her brother then. “Nicoletta, what happened to you?!” he cried out, running over to her collapsed form, kneeling down.

“Al-almost lost it,” she told him, her voice soft. “But, I-I think I have control over it now.”

A look of concern overtook Vincente’s face, “You don’t much look like you have control over it sis. . . .”

Nicoletta shook her head, “I think I’ll be all right, it was just an aftereffect of fighting . . . the battle’s over now, and there are more important things to worry about than me,” the girl weakly moved herself up and pointed over to where she’d last seen Alexi with his injuries, “Al-Alexi’s gotten a nasty wound from all this, he needs medical attention. . . . Then, there’s Momchil and Amalia too, they’re still in the shop, waiting to gather the textiles for mom.”

“Nicoletta, the textile bolts don’t matter right now, mom might not thrilled if she doesn’t get them today, but she’ll understand that your health, as well as Alexi’s, comes first. Same for the twins.” Without giving his sister a chance to respond, Vincente looked around and spotted the shopkeeper who looked a bit like himself, of course, while Vincente had much the same thought about that as his sister, unlike her, he didn’t suddenly go and spout it out. “I’m going to assume you’re the one in charge of the shop our mother’s shipping order got sent to by mistake; I apologize for this, but we’re going to have to leave those with you for the time being, Nicoletta’s not doing so well and her friend is injured.”

The little red devil turned about, that childish face bathed in a calm smile that defied all logic, even as the ground beneath her feet was bathed in the blood she had just shed. However, in an instant, that smile turned to a look of concern, and of fear, for when she turned about, her eyes were met by the crumpled, fallen form of her newfound friend, whose mind she had inadvertently assailed with visions of an eternity of pain no Human being was meant to know.

"Mister Paper?" She asked nervously, approaching him quickly and leaning over him, the gleam in her bright red eyes replaced by the fearful, tentative darkness of worry. "A-are you okay?"

No answer.

"Mister Paper?" She repeated, dread filling her voice as she shook his unconscious form. Had she done this? Deep down, that thought made her feel something - a sensation she could remember from long, long ago, but could never hope to define. Foolish, innocent child, who had cast aside fear and pain along with the fetters of morality that had bound her, becoming the unwitting pawn of a monstrous being of her own creation all to escape the hellish reality that had consumed and nearly extinguished her precious life. The feeling she could not understand was guilt. She, whose hidden rage at being imprisoned had driven her to kill countless innocents as well as those innumerable tormentors who had plagued her every waking hour, yet could somehow feel remorse for the pain she had accidentally brought upon one being such as herself - the first entity she had dared call a "friend."

But even she, whose mind had been twisted and warped by endless suffering, could yet realize one thing: Rei needed help, and, while she herself could not give it to him, there were other people who could. And so, mustering her resolve, Marisenne determinedly took her new friend's limp wrists in her hands, and, fighting through the sorrow she felt at the anguish she must have caused him, desperately began to pull. He was bigger than her, and her childish body could not soon muster the strength to move him. Despite this realization, however, she refused to accept such a fact, and continued to pull with all her might, desperately trying to drag her friend to get help until she was too exhausted to continue pulling. Over the course of her efforts, she had barely moved him more than a few inches.

Then there was no escaping it. To get him to help, she would have to use her powers, which meant someone was sure to see her once she left the alley, which in turn meant that the bad men following her would realize where she was. But this was the only option left to her. She had to save her new friend. And so, she knelt beside the blind magus, wrapping her tiny arms around Rei as best she could and supplementing her grip by painfully generating crystals to fasten the boy to herself. Then, she rose, forcing out a burst of energy to pick her up off the ground and lift her into the air. Multicolored light danced off of her, tiny, gleaming particles spiraling out around her like a glistening pair of seraphic wings. Then, with a single flap, she surged her power and launched herself upward, clumsily shooting off like a rocket and into the air.

Now she just had to find someone who could help Rei.

Syd Lastern

After Syd had made his comment about Xibalba, he nearly made it back into his store until the breeze hit his wound. While he had an intolerance to pain, he was thankful that it wasn't to temperature, so his eyes quickly scanned his bloodied left arm. As he had noticed before, one of his better shirts was now cut and the sleeve was barely clinging to his arm while the blood slowly fell to the ground off of his fingertips. His head than swiveled around, for he realized that he had forgotten to get his jacket. When he found it - it wasn't that far from the Hunter - and sighed as he turned his entire body to face his jacket. However, when he strove for his beloved piece of clothing, he noticed the girl Nicoletta out of the corner of his eye: she seemed to be struggling with something, and he nearly dismissed her when Syd heard the solemn clang of an all too familiar sound.

A gun - nay, a revolver, clanging off of the tired, beaten ground.

His head instantly turned to her, and even though he was just a few steps from his jacket, Syd stopped in his tracks to examine the young girl. He hated the sound - not only did it remind him of a past that he didn't want to remember, but it was a constant throughout his lifestyle. So many times had he heard somebody's gun fall to the ground, it was almost aggravating. Besides, it wasn't good for the shiny revolver that she owned. Syd's deep, dull blue eyes shifted from the golden gun to Nicoletta once more, noticing that she seemed to be having a massive breakdown of her nervous system, even her motor functions. As tears began to fall to her face, something that gave Syd a little startle, he barely made out some of the words she mumbled:

"Can't... I can't" That was all Syd could make out until she fell to the ground. Syd's eyes widened slightly, but he made no move to help her, nor call for help. He simply watched her in a dull trance: as if he was in shock. It felt all too familiar to him, but his flashbacks were put on hold by just the oddness of the situation: Nicoletta, a girl that was strong enough to challenge a Hunter, had mysteriously fallen to the ground in some form of comatose. Syd's brain couldn't comprehend what was going on with her, she just seemed to be burning up suddenly. It wasn't until a young man came running and yelling that he seemed to snap out of his little trance. Syd's face instantly changed, almost like a two - faced demon did, from his actually emotional expression to his originally dull and monotone face. While the man - Syd assumed him to be the brother Vincente that resembled him, for it was quite shocking how similar they looked - attended to his sister, Syd walked over to his jacket and put it on slowly, only to stop at his left arm. He sighed, not wanting to get it bloody, when he felt somebody tap his shoulder. To his shock he saw Azi and Teddy, with Teddy holding a first aid kit. Syd nodded his thanks and bandaged himself up quickly. When he was sure the blood had stopped, he placed his left hand inside his jacket.

When Syd finally was about to walk away, the brother called Vincente's voice ran over to him, to which all three of the Deck turned to the man. “I’m going to assume you’re the one in charge of the shop our mother’s shipping order got sent to by mistake; I apologize for this, but we’re going to have to leave those with you for the time being, Nicoletta’s not doing so well and her friend is injured.” Syd nodded, understanding the idea that the man had tried to instill, but not really agreeing with the idea. He didn't like the idea of somebody else's goods simply relaxing in his store and taking up space. No that wouldn't do. Instead, Syd thought of an idea, and as much as he hated to do so, it looked like he was going to do something for free.

"While I understand your reasoning, I have a counter proposal. For assisting in the take down of the Hunter," Syd nearly grinded his teeth when Azi started snickering. "My employees and myself will carry your textiles for you. I do not need them sitting in my shop and taking up space, so getting them out of my shop is a benefit to myself as well." Syd said in his normal tenor voice, foregoing the monotone that he used around strangers and unlikables. This Vincente and his family were quite intriguing to say the least. He nodded his head, and Teddy walked back into the shop, while Azi turned to Syd and muttered a quick.

"I know you love to show off your stuff kid, but I thought you kept your bullets private..." Azi winked at him and then over at Vincente and his sister before lighting up a cigarette and walking over to the store. Syd looked down and swore quietly: His necklace of bullet casings must have slipped out during the fight, for they were now dangling from his neck in plain sight for anybody looking at him to see. Not really caring by this point, he grabbed it slowly and nonchalantly put the necklace behind his shirt once more. By then, Ted had come out with all of the textiles in his hands, with one for Syd to carry as well. He wasn't much of a lifter, but he needed to at least look like he was going for a purpose.

Alex had fallen into a state of sleep momentarily after passing out. At first, he could see a face. A strange face. But he couldn't quite make it out. Also, his head hurt a lot. His mind also seemed a bit...blurry...or clouded.

Heal. Health. Blood. Wind. Nicole. Blurry. Family. Blurry. Street. Blurry. Blurry. Textiles. Explosion.

Alexi woke back up. Alex tried to get up, but at this point, the adrenaline was gone, the pain was kicking in, and he had a good amount of pain. Alex then noted "May I suggest we get to someplace with proper healing supplies......just a thought....". Alexi then coughed up a hacked cough, and Tammy tried to help him up. Thats when Alex added "I think....there is a place close by..."

Alexi then started to get a headache. Tammy took off his sweatshirt and let Alexi use it as a sort of bandage kind of. Alexi then started to fall over, but Tammy caught him. Alexi noted "Ill be fine, im alright", which was blatenly obvious that it was a lie. Although, he was actually much better then everyone thought and then how he looked.

Just then, Alexi became aware of what everyone else was saying and doing, including the necklace of bullet casings, although he didn't really register that as strange or anything important. Thats when Alexi also was about to say something, but then decided against it, instead saying "Tammy, I think Nicole needs your help more....". Alexi was fairly clueless about how bad his own injuries were, so he really had no idea if she was more wounded then him or not.

The House of Cards

The House of Cards by RolePlayGateway

A rather routine looking shop, sitting on the edges of Dominion Hecate, it blends in rather well due to being a magic shop, but more might lay within it than meets the eye.

Cathedral Square

Cathedral Square by RolePlayGateway

A district located within Portum Animas that is entirely dedicated to the workings of the dominating church, this particular area is strewn over with religious symbols, icons and is considered to be a holy sanctuary of sorts. . . .

The House of Cards

The House of Cards by RolePlayGateway

A rather routine looking shop, sitting on the edges of Dominion Hecate, it blends in rather well due to being a magic shop, but more might lay within it than meets the eye.

Cathedral Square

Cathedral Square by RolePlayGateway

A district located within Portum Animas that is entirely dedicated to the workings of the dominating church, this particular area is strewn over with religious symbols, icons and is considered to be a holy sanctuary of sorts. . . .

The Store of Knowledge

The Store of Knowledge by RolePlayGateway

A bookstore dedicated to the high pursuit of knowledge, if one is looking for information regarding a sparsely covered subject, then this place just might have the answers.

Manus Luna

Manus Luna by Jakuri-chan

The last place in which life persists, a small floating landmass full of strange technology and culture. . . .

Portum Animas

Portum Animas by RolePlayGateway

A city of advanced technology upon Manus Luna, the only true metropolis left in the world.

Auallonia

Auallonia by RolePlayGateway

The very heart of Portum Animas.

Xibalba

Xibalba by RolePlayGateway

'Place of Fear' -- a section of the city which lays within Auallonia, it is not the most savory of places.

Dominion Hecate

Dominion Hecate by RolePlayGateway

This is the 'black magic' district of the city; located within the bounds of Xibalba, this place seems anything but friendly, and for good reason. If you're looking for a way to hex someone, or to buy 'potions,' this is the place to go.

Highrise

Highrise by RolePlayGateway

Auallonia's residential area, hosting the homes of the city's wealthier citizens.

Finitor

Finitor by RolePlayGateway

Portum Animas' certified shopping district.

Eden

Eden by RolePlayGateway

The large 'park' area located upon the edges of Portum Animas.

The Yggdrasil Forest
