Male
Nickname(s)/Alias(es):
Rei / The Crimson Rhapsody / The Bloody Virtuoso / Ray-ray (as called by his younger sister.)
Age:
Although he looks young, due to his size and frailness Rei is actually eighteen years of age.
Love Interest:
Not any at the moment.
Appearance:
Rei's expression is always blank, his eyes are unreadable, not only as a result for his blindness, but also as a result of his traumatizing childhood. Rei is always seemed as passive and emotionless, he was never once seen as happy in public. He has a frail and short demeanor, giving him the illusion of a young child when sitting down. But when he stands up, he looks more skinny, rather than young and small.
Preferred Clothing:
He has the same black windbreaker and black pants, even with black sneakers. He keeps his hood on, not bothering to wear sunglasses, even though he's blind. Though at first it looks like there are white streaks on He always has a stack of small white papers stuck around his waist that gives off the illusion of a belt. There are about 350 small sheets all over his body, each sheet the size of thin playing cards. Rei has been seen, though, coming out of popular cafÊs and pubs while wearing a bow tie, and a white button up shirt.
Height:
5'6"
Weight:
134 lbs
Hair Color:
White
Eye Color:
Grayish Silver
Personality:
Formerly, Rei's former personality was purely that of a kind person, and cheerful. That persona was thrown away for one that was much more suitable to what happened to himself when he was a child. Now Rei possesses the personality of a doll, more or less. He bears no signs of emotion, his eyes hidden below the hood of his windbreaker. The air around Rei is always very tense, people are usually afraid to approach him. There were few people who walked towards Rei in order to greet him. There were even fewer who walked away unscathed.
Rei isn't a people person. He is very skeptic about people, and he's also even more skeptic about trust. If Rei knows that a person is lying to them, he'll immediately make them regret it. Whenever Rei DOES trust someone, there's barely any change, the one that's worth mentioning is that he becomes a bit more talkative. The most observant of people will notice a few flashes of emotion that cross his expression. But other than that, the main difference is that fact that Rei won't have to kill you.
Oddities:
Rei is blind, though this does not stop him from singing, playing instruments, or origami. Rei is able to make simple origami sculptures within seconds, just by using his manipulation over paper, touch, and sheer skill. He always has a stack of small white papers stuck around his waist that gives off the illusion of a belt. There are about 350 small sheets, each sheet the size of thin playing cards.

Paper. Yes. Paper. Sometimes cards.

The power to manipulate paper at will, controlling its texture to make it as sharp, smooth, durable, or abrasive as the user desires.
-Telekinesis-
The power to move and levitate objects using your mental power.
Telepathy/Empathy-
The ability to read the minds of another, to an extent, to the point where you can also feel the other person's full emotions.
Abilities: .
-Papyrokinesis-
Rei is able to manipulate paper at will, this is his main strength, as it goes hand in hand with his secondary ability. Rei can manipulate paper, being able to make it denser and sharper, being able to throw it as a sharpened projectile. These projectiles are limited to the sharpness of sharp steel, and cannot fully go through steel, and occasional stone objects.
He can also make the paper adhesive, making them to be able to stick to each other, this can be used to make easy towers and walls of paper.
Along with Rei's molecular manipulation and the use of his adhesion technique, Rei is able to make thick and effective shields. The effectiveness of his shield depends on how many attacks he's blocked, after all, it's still paper. Continuous machine gun fire can rip the shield within thirty seconds. With these two techniques, Rei can also make makeshift weapons, such as swords, knives, and even spears.
The main weakness with this ability, is that he can easily be shut down if his paper is burnt.
-Telekinesis-
Rei can manipulate objects with his mind, able to move objects from one place to another, or being able to elevate these objects from the ground. Although when it comes to objects, even a small pebble, Rei is unable to levitate more than a couple of inches to the ground, but when it comes to paper, Rei can move it with ease, even able to fold the paper with his mind. Rei can launch his weaponized paper with speed equivalent to a fast bow and arrow. Rei is able to send barrages of sharpened paper from a range, being able to cute down enemies effectively. Though, Rei cannot affect the sharpness or durability of paper unless he touches it himself, he cannot manipulate the paper's quality from a distance with his telekinesis, other than folding it. Combined with his telekinesis, and papyrokinesis, Rei has the ability to make large angelic paper wings for his back, and is able to move the the wings with his telekinetic powers, having him be able to fly for a short time and distance. This also serves as a parachute.
-Telepathy/Empathy-
This ability serves as Rei's own eyes. Without this, he would be totally blind, but with it, he can see what other people, animals, insects, and other organisms see and form an accurate perception of people, insects, and animals in a about a 15 meter radius around him. Rei cannot stop reading minds, but he cannot delve into the minds of people, only able to see what they're currently thinking and seeing at the moment. Rei's telepathy also has an empathy effect. Rei can feel emotion at a slightly longer range, than telepathy, and this mentally hurts him more than physical pain, some times.
Personal History: Three paragraphs at least.
The Von Grenadine family. A family dedicated towards the cause of helping others. One of these members took this cause with the utmost seriousness, and dedication, that it rivaled that of the rest of his family. This man was named Alexander, and he was known as a dedicated life saver. He was known for his able work on the field of medication. It was also known that he had a wonderful wife, whom he has met through his field of medication, and had two wonderful children. It was known that he was a hero. At least, that's what Rei has heard, until the day everything twisted into a nightmare.
Rei's life continues on as one full of conditioned tragedy, hopelessness, and lost dreams. He was born blind, the first thing he's ever felt, wasn't the cold air of the hospital wing, it wasn't the sensation of sound going into his ear, nor it was the sensation of smell going into his little nostrils. The first thing that he felt was pain, and the second feeling he's felt was death. Rei's empathetic powers were potent at birth, for he was able to feel his mother's pain and pleading last breaths. He remembered this pain, but what he remembered also, the feeling of bliss, and relief...then nothing. This flux of emotion was forever burnt into his memory and his heart. Rei was raised by his father until his sister reached seven years of age and his older sister Maria, albeit as Rei became older, he was much taller than her and acted more like a big brother than a little one. Rei was unable to see for himself when he was young, so his sister helped him with everything in his life. She taught Rei the alphabet, and how to read. She taught him how to play instruments, and sang along with him as they both played on the piano. She most importantly taught him the most important thing was how to do origami, an art that he loved, because he can actually imagine what he created. His father, also made him happy. Though he wasn't able to be with Rei as much as his sister because he was either out, or in the basement where he did not allow his children to enter, Rei still idolized his father. He always loved hearing his father's stories of life saving and his mother. But soon enough the stories stopped when Rei was ten, and when his sister was thirteen. Rei and Maria were pretty much living alone, other than the occasional hellos of his father when he comes home late.
As Rei started to grow up, he started to feel odd phenomenons. At night he experienced horrid nightmares. He dreamt that he was a woman, a different woman every night. He saw a masked man slowly cut into that woman's abdomen, ripping each organ out, hearing the screams come out of her throat, even feeling her pain. Over time, for three years, from the age of thirteen to sixteen, these dreams started to become more vivid, to the point where it felt like it was real. He lived with these dreams, not telling or worrying his sister about his dilemma. He just lived along with her, hiding his pain. Though during one night, he couldn't bear it, this time he dreamt it was his sister. He saw that the man was now inserting the knife into her eyes. His sister screamed his eyes wide as he woke up, gripping the sheets. He couldn't help him from running up to his sister's room, shaking and his heart lurching as she wasn't there. He felt his way around the house, the feeling of his dreams still burning within him. He made his way to his father's basement, he noticed that the door was open. He walked into the basement, a familiar surge of pain and fear. It was the same kind of sensation he felt within his dreams...only he was awake. But also...there was something...something evil, crazed insanity that he felt. He noticed a presence that looked from him, other than the familiar one moaning and sobbing on the table. His father was that presence. He didn't hear him speak, or need to speak. He felt it. Everyone one of them. Their pain in his dreams, now his sister's pain. His father stared at him with this crazed look, as he slowly whispered.
"She didn't...have her eyes...she didn't...have her eyes...but you....you have her mother's eyes."
He could tell from his father's point of view in his head, that he was coming towards him. He couldn't understand how, but he was able to tell that he was holding a knife running towards him shifting. This was not the hero that his father described himself as. This was not the fatherly figure he once saw. Those didn't exist. He stood there in disbelief....he wanted it to go away, for everything to go away. He closed his eyes walking backwards, his back reaching a shelf. He could feel his own hands gliding cross paper, gripping it tightly out of sheer comfort. He knew his father raised the knife...but suddenly in a flurry of white. This time he felt something familiar....the cries of pain, and the sudden relief....then silence. He didn't see the exact image of his father mutilated into an unrecognizable pulp, but he felt that sudden peaceful bliss. That bliss...he seemed...he seemed to crave it... like father...like son...?
He walked towards his sister, able to feel her pain and sightlessness. She heard her pleading, and sobs, wishing to die. Rei had a piece of paper on his hand, he rolled the paper into a thin needle, pricking his own finger with it, wincing slightly. He looked down at his sister on the sly metal table, not noticing the piles of organs and bodies all around everywhere else in the room. He slowly put the needlelike piece of paper by her neck. As he sliced slowly, he felt the surge of pain, hearing a slight choking noise. Then...then that wonderful bliss. Pure Euphoria. Blind Euphoria...then emptiness. His lips salivate. After all this he understood. His father was no longer the hero he was without his wife. And now he wished to bring her back, piecing her with each organ...each piece of skin...even eyes. He knows now. There are no heroes. Only those who are able to kill another. His father was strong, able to shake off the 'hero' shackles, in order to take the life of many. And now, especially with an understanding of his power, Rei was able to shake off this poor facade as well. Like father like son?
No. He was to be a better killer than his old man.
