Ayumi has a skinny and somewhat angular structure, yet on contrast she has long, thick hair that falls to her hips in slight curls. Her brown eyes always seem to reflect her feelings, no matter how hard she tries to hide them. She has sharp, thin eyebrows and somewhat thick eyelashes.
Ayumi isn't one for style, really. She mainly wears casual clothing besides her school uniform. Ayumi falls victim to headaches and nervous breakdowns.

Ayumi is by far the most fierce and competitive of the Sohma's. She never gets into a fight she can't win. Very independent, Hana doesn't like to ask for help, even if she is straining herself. She just can bring herself to At times, Ayumi hardly seems female, as she does take on a man's demeanor and 'strong' attitude. She has an unsatisfiable hunger for knowledge. Her curiousity often leads her into an arguement, because of her stubborn personality. Pride is certainly her worst weakness. While there is no doubt she is generous and sometimes altruistic, these traits are generally expressed in a theatrical manner. She has a need to play the hero in a battle, the good person. There is not much to say about Ayumi's past. She was abandoned the minute she was born. Found on the doorstep of the Sohma residence. She gained her strong rebellious nature from her loneliness. She had never known her parents. No one, no matter whom she asked, had answered. She then gained her strong sense of independence. By elementary school, Hana had already been in countless fights, she is still involved in fights to this day. Unlike the other Sohma's Ayumi hasn't learned the discipline from the Head and continues to go against rules.
