*Appearance Description: Sokichi is fairly tall (I think) for a boy his age. He has British heritage from his mother's side, explaining his slightly brownish hair. Though appearing to be somewhat tall and lanky, he is quite athletic to a degree. He can also fend for himself in a fight, but he usually lacks in stamina. Sokichi is a notably good runner. His eyes are brown, but they turn purple when he suddenly becomes faster and stronger for a few seconds

*Personality: Sokichi is friendly, deductive, and cunning. He is somewhat Obsessive Compulsive, and is able to deduce things through quick observations. He enjoys detective stories, the first being Sherlock Holmes which his grandfather introduced to him, making him quite literate. Sokichi is empathetic and understands people immediately. He is a bit hasty.

Behind Sokichi's usually calm facade and his relentless urge to bring order and justice for the good is a nervous and shy person who would rather stay in the background and watch the world move. His parents raised him to be humble like them, and he doesn't brag or even talk about his family's wealth with other people, as he sees such activities as a waste of time. He is also very easy to satisfy and he appreciates the simple things in life. He is, however, quite attached to his fedora, and seems to wear it with his uniform.

Sokichi is also shown to be extremely loyal to his friends and family, though he becomes hostile when betrayed. This side of him is yet to be seen and is somewhat feared by his entire family, especially by Sokichi himself. Despite this, as soon as Sokichi is your friend, you can expect everything from a shoulder to cry on to the keeper of your darkest secrets, though this usually comes with a price: you HAVE to help Sokichi whenever there is a "case" and he's on it. After all, every Sherlock Holmes needs a John Watson.

*Story: Sokichi is the only son of his parents, whose love story would sound like a stereotypical "rich-girl-falls-for-poorer-guy" if it wasn't for the fact that both of them were vastly wealthy middle-children. The company of the family of Sokichi's father was a robotics company, and is one of the biggest names in the industry. Sokichi's father mainly focused on developing weapons and also prosthetics to improve physical performance. Sokichi's mother, on the other hand, was a major scientist in a team that genetically engineered animals and plants. The two scientists met at a convention and a nerdy love story began.

Eventually, the lovers' families started a blooming friendship and had many joint projects between their own companies. One of these projects was led by Sokichi's parents, and would (admittedly) sound familiar for any tokusatsu fan. The project was a top-secret project that the families thought of after hearing news of a possible war. After a few rounds of tequila, the eldest children of the families thought of making science-fiction into reality: bio-weapons. The main idea was simple: make a few prototypes, add weapons to them, make them controllable, keep them in stasis until the rumors become facts, and then they put up prices. It was risky, yes, and it turned out to be the absolutely worst decision the two families have made. The prototypes proved themselves uncontrollable, and they were forcefully exterminated. Even after finding out that one of the scientists was a mole from the CIA, Sokichi's parents didn't know what to do. Their troubles were also added after news that Sokichi's father was sterile due to damage to his testicles when he tried to stop one of the prototypes (which happened to have spikes on its body [specifically its feet]). Every attempt to repair the essential reproductive organ failed. Left with a big, gaping hole in their hearts (and, in Sokichi's father's case, a testicle), the couple decided to make one last prototype: a son.

Not knowing of his sad (yet somewhat comical) origin, Sokichi lived a surprisingly normal life for a rich person. The normality reduced when Sokichi was given a sealed case by his grandfather. The case itself is probably one of the greatest weapons his family has ever made. It was rather absurd that he swore he saw it in a TV show. The case is the second prototype of a portable body armor that enhances the wearer's physical capabilities. He was also given the honor of naming the armor, which he dubbed "Black Joker". He rarely uses it, but when he does, evil regrets what it has done!

Oh, and, if I forgot to mention, he regrets using it too. Sometimes. Maybe all the time. :|

Crush(es):I....I don't have any of those! (blushes)(again, *cough*)
Club(s):
  • Photography Club
  • School Newsletter
  • Martial Arts Club
Secrets:
  • Black Joker is probably one of his darkest secrets. He keeps this secret very well.
  • HE LOVES KANADE AYA (Don't let him know I told you that)!!! This is probably his worst kept secret.
Extra:
  • Sokichi dreams of becoming a detective.
  • Sokichi is also a fan of Shotaro Ishinomori's works, mainly Kamen Rider. His favorite installments in the Kamen Rider franchise are Kamen Rider W andKamen Rider OOO.
  • Sokichi is a member of the Martial Arts club, but his fighting style isn't as good as that of the others.
  • He likes using MMD for making videos.
  • Sokichi brings with him the Black Joker armor wherever he goes. He can put it on real quick (like, 1.7 milliseconds quick).
  • Sokichi likes video games, usually classics like "The Legend of Zelda" and "Final Fantasy". He also plays fighting games.
  • Though he is actually smart enough to solve mysteries and puzzles, he isn't considered a nerd.
  • For a genetically-engineered bio-weapon, he can't swim very well.
Pets: A caramel-brown dog named Jake, who is named after this Jake.
Trivia:
  • Sokichi is entirely based on multiple Kamen Rider concepts.
    • His name is derived from two characters from Kamen Rider W (namely Sokichi Narumi (Kamen Rider Skull) and Shotaro Hidari (Kamen RiderW/Kamen Rider Joker))
    • Like his namesake(s), he is a detective and wears a fedora hat.
    • Like most of the original Kamen Riders, he is a cyborg-mutant.

Yuki Hayashi

Yuki sat up in her bed, looking around her room sleepily. She knew she had to get up. It was her first day of high school, and she certainly didn't want to be late. However, she was slightly afraid. Being in a new school, without her group of friends- well, the very first friends she's had in a while, would all be going to different high schools. Yuki rolled over and sighed, stuffing her head underneath her pillow. Yuki quickly shot up and slapped her cheeks.
No falling back asleep! You will go to Fukushima High School, and you will like it!
She shouted encouragingly to herself before nodding. She turned her head to see her father standing at the door way. "I see you've already woken up?" Yuki chuckled nervously and scratched the back of her head.
Yep! I really don't want to be late...
Her father left her room with a nod and turned her head towards a picture frame near her bed and she smiled. It was a picture of her mother while she was pregnant and a picture of her father as well. I hope you're watching, mom. Today's my first day of high school! Yuki flipped off her sheets and ran into the hallway.

After having a very quick shower, Yuki ran downstairs with a towel in her hair and around her body. She checked to make sure her dad wasn't in the dining room before she closed her notebook and put it in her school bag. "I'm making breakfast, want some?" Yuki blushed when she seen her father walking out of the kitchen, holding a spatula and wearing his dorky apron.
Dad! I'm practically naked, go back in the kitchen!
Even if it was her father, Yuki was very self-conscious about her body. It was far more developed than any girl her age, and this embarrassed her greatly. He held his hands up in defense and walked back inside the kitchen. Yuki grabbed her bag and ran for the entrance, placing the bag right beside the door. Yuki ran back upstairs and into her room, quickly shutting the door behind her. She looked at herself in her body mirror.
How should I wear my hair for the first day?
Yuki thought about different hairstyles in her head and she shrugged the thought away.
I'll worry about that later.

Speaking to herself was like a bad habit that Yuki couldn't really get rid of. She quickly dried off the rest of her body and put on her undergarments then put on her sailor uniform. The shape of her uniform was a short skirt with a short sleeved top and she added her thigh high white socks to the mix. Yuki really wasn't a fan of blow drying her hair, as it was very unhealthy for it, but she wanted to get to school early so she quickly blow dried the remaining wet spots of her hair. She brushed it out and looked at the picture frame of her mother again. Her mother's hair was very long and beautiful, and it wasn't really done in any special hairstyle. Yuki decided to let her hair down, just like her mother's in the picture, even if her hair wasn't as long and beautiful as her deceased mother.

Yuki skipped down the stairs and tripped at the second last step, almost falling flat on her butt before catching her balance. Her father chuckled and she blushed. "That was a close one." Yuki chuckled back and skipped into the dining room. There was just eggs and toast on a plate, and some hot ginger tea on the side. Yuki didn't really fancy ginger tea, but she also requested her dad make that for her, just in case her stomach began hurting later on in the day. Yuki grabbed her egg with her fingers and placed it on top of her toast. She ate it very quickly and slurped down her luke warm tea, before running upstairs the floss and brush her teeth.

I'm off now, dad! Love you!
Yuki shouted before running out the door. She walked down the street, and took in the fresh air. It was a beautiful day, she could tell already. After about 10 minutes of walking, Yuki finally made it to the school. She was so nervous! Freshman's were meeting up with their old friends or making new ones, and there were club stands set up everywhere for anyone who wanted to join. She was told that there wasn't going to be any classes until after lunch. Yuki sighed and awkwardly walked towards a tree and sat under it. Well, I'm off to a bad start.

Akane Yamada

Akane was awoken by her two idiots brothers, and starting at that exact moment, she knew this wouldn't be a good day. Akane punched both of her older, but much more immature, brothers right on the head before walking out of her room. Akane began stripping as she was marching down the hallways, and the servants and maids looked away with a blush. Akane didn't really care. She just wanted to get this "school" thing over with. By the time she was in the bathroom, she was only in her undergarments and she stripped herself of those too before hopping in the shower.

Akane wrapped a clean towel around herself before marching back into her room. She quickly threw on on her uniform. Her style that she chose was a short sleeve and a short skirt. She wanted a short sleeve so that she could just roll the sleeves up, making them look similar to a tank top. Akane slid on some shin high socks before walking out of her bedroom, her hair still soaking wet. The maids insisted that she went back inside her room, so they could at least get her hair done nicely, but she only chose to brush it out. Akane went downstairs and ate a breakfast fit for a king. She didn't mind eating commoner's food, but she loved the "rich people food". Akane was greeted with a bowl of rice, fillet of grilled salted salmon with the skin still intact, a side of radish pickles, two sour plums, a bowl of miso soup, a side of natto and several sheets of seasoned seaweed. Akane's mouth drooled as she practically inhaled her food. Her two middle brothers were 18 and 19 years old, her younger sister was 9 and her eldest brother was 21, however he was away learning about business. Since his father didn't become the next in line for the family business, he volunteered. Akane was slightly disappointed that her older brother couldn't see her leave for her first day of school, but she quickly shrugged it off.

Since her family insisted that she gets a ride in a limo on her first day of school, so she doesn't get lost, Akane decided that she would follow their rules. Truth was, she didn't exactly want to get lost either. When she got out of the limo, many students were staring and whispering. Akane just rolled her eyes and kept walking with her head down. Damn, this is really embarrassing... Akane thought to herself and walked towards a bench, flopping right down on top of it. she didn't feel like socializing right now. She was just annoyed and mad.

Ren Fontaine

Ren sat up immediately when he heard his alarm going off. He scratched his head and ran his hand through his black hair, moving his bangs out of the way, slightly helping him see better. Ren threw the covers off of his body and walked outside into his large hallway. There were maids that blushed and bowed down. This wasn't anything new. Every time they seen him shirtless, they'd get all giggly and annoying.
Good morning to you too. Could you please get some breakfast ready?
They nodded and quickly scurried off giggling and whispering. Ren back into his room and through the doors in his room that connected to his own large bathroom. He stripped himself of his half-nakedness and got in the shower.

OOC: Oh my god, this is taking really long. I'm just going to skip ahead.

Ren was on his way to school, sitting in the back of his limo. He looked out the window the whole ride there until he finally seen his school. He was there before almost anybody else, so he could set up a stand for his club. He didn't like standing behind a table, desperately shouting out to people to join like a pathetic puppy, but it's kind of his job as a team leader. Well, it would be, but he got his more charismatic team members to do that part. After getting out of his limo, he heard his chauffeur call out to him one last time, but Ren got to it first.
Yes, I'm sure that I don't need help setting up a table, thanks.
He smiled back at the old man driving the limo. No matter how persistent his servants were, he still couldn't bring himself to treat them like shit. This specific man has been Ren's personal chauffeur for a little over 15 years. Ren knew his servants cared about him, so he cared about them too.

After he and his team members finally got the table set up, some people started coming to school and he sat back in his chair, put his feet up on the table and sighed when he noticed some girls eying him flirtatiously.
Just one more year, that's all.
His team members around him chuckled and then started calling people out.

Sokichi Hidari

Sokichi suddenly woke up from a very strange dream he'd rather not discuss. Darn, I've gotta stop dreaming weird stuff. he told himself as he got up from bed and started putting on his regular attire (a dress shirt, a pair slacks, a necktie, a waistcoat and most importantly, a fedora hat). He headed to the dining room of his home. His parents, you see, are simple folk despite their economic standing. Instead of living in a large mansion, Sokichi and his parents live in a fairly large duplex with their servants and guards.

Anyway, fast-forward! Sokichi hurriedly wore his uniform and ran into his parents' car. "Are you nervous, sweetie?" Sokichi heard his mother ask him while on the way. "No...not really, Okāsan...." was his reply. He saw his father smirk in disbelief, "Are you still going to try to ask that girl out? You do know that you're not that hot in those kinds of things..." Sokichi blushed deep red in an instant, "I got this close, Otōsan! THIS CLOSE! If only she was actually liste-"

"Sokichi, what did I tell you about raising your voice on people older than you?" Sokichi's mother interrupted. Sokichi sighed, "It is very rude, even if I had a point." "Good. Sokichi's father said, "Now get your things, we're almost there..."
Sokichi stepped off the car with his school bag and his camera bag. He waved goodbye to his parents and gawked at the large crowd at the school. Instead of probably waiting for it to dissolve, Sokichi decided to wade into the crowd.

"I have a really bad feeling about this coming school year..." he thought to himself.

Takuto Matsunagi

Takuto was having the time of his life. There he was, manning his club's booth and people were there, so many people...one big audience. "Perfection....pure perfection...." he told himself with a wide grin. He placed his headset on and sat in front of the switchboard. Yep, he was doing a live broadcast for the freshman orientation. It was a good idea, and apparently the only idea his "creative club members" could work on. Nonetheless, Takuto was feeling his best, proudest, and loudest. On the count of a club member, he was "on air."

"Welcome welcome WELCOME FRRRRRESHMEN, TO FUKUSHIMA HIGH SCHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!" he said without pausing or even shifting his attention. He is in the zone. "This is me, D.J. MATSUNAGI-SAMA, the official club leader of Fukushima High's broadcasting club! We give you the best AND ONLY the best news faster than you can say...(um...wait, how do you pronounce this word, again? 'Super-califragilistic-expialidocious', right? Really? Oooookay.) SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICEXPIALIDOCIOUS! Go ask the upper classmen about it. Come on, people... (presses "cybernetic echo" effect button) ...tell me I'm lying!"

Fuuko awoke to Dogmeat jumping on her bed with Gandalf watching. She shoved the 3 foot dog off of her person and sat up, yawning. Dogmeat barked loudly, tail wagging. Fuwa could only toss her pillow at him and stand up. "Yeah, yeah, yeah. I got it, you overgrown mutt. Go get my bag." She stumbled around her room, slowly and sleepily putting her uniform. The alien merely huffed and trotted out of the room, the other dog following behind.

"Ugh, school... Why do I have to go back there again..?" She tied her hairbow into her hair, grumbling under her breath. Not even a week ago, she had been so sick she could barely move around. Dogmeat, the sweetheart, took care of her. She sighed and looked at her wrist. The hospital band was still on there, innocently. She quickly took scissors and cut the thing off, throwing it onto the floor. She hoped that she'd never see that place again for a while.

Walking into the kitchen, she found Dogmeat sitting by the door with her bag in his mouth. She smiled and pet him on the head and picked up Gandalf. "I love you two." She grinned and began to fix a small breakfast, still holding Gandalf. Orange juice and a plate of eggs. Songbird, who was still sleeping was awoken by Dogmeat barking at Fuwa to move it. She waved him off and placed Gandalf on the floor. Placing her dirtied dishes into the sink, she placed Songbird into her skirt pocket and took her bag from Dogmeat. "See ya when I get home!"

She started towards the school, checking her bag for everything. Pencils, paper and her trusty camera. She pulled the battered looking device out and hung it around her neck. There, she was ready to face the world. She slipped into the school, manuvering through the crowds like a seasoned pro, not letting anyone bump her or even touch her. She spotted Hidari-san but was too far to drag him behind her.

She eventually found the photography club table and sat down. A couple other memebers were passing out flyers and taking pictures with people. Fuwa set her own camera on the table and began to find the perfect shot to begin the school year with. She scoped out new faces. "Looks like this year is gonna be fun, eh Songbird?" The hummingbird peeked out her pocket and looked around with her.

Sokichi Hidari

After what seemed to be hours of wading in the crowd of students, Sokichi finally reached the photography club booth. He decided to man the booth, and dumped his things near the first unoccupied chair he saw. As soon as he sat on the chair, he noticed Fuuko taking pictures. It wasn't awkward or anything, it was just that he swore he saw her in the crowd some dozen of people before him. He decided to shed the idea off and bring out his own camera.

After a few frames (mostly birds, students chatting, and that Matsunaga person interviewing some poor freshman), his lens just had to point at the most "promising" subject. "C-Come on...why does this keep happening?!" Sokichi thought out loud, but in a whisper. Unfortunately, any unlucky person who was near him would hear it, most likely Fuuko. If anyone cared to turn to where Sokichi's camera was pointed at, it was the swimming club booth. There were three figures Sokichi could recognize, and one was Kanade Aya. "Okay...Sokichi, remember, do not try to join. Don't go there now. Stay calm...and just sit and don't look at her..." Sokichi thought to himself in a desperate attempt to calm down. There were two problems to that: 1)he was blushing deep red and 2)he was so nervous that he was shaking. Sokichi decided to put down his camera and just write notes in his little tickler that he always brings with him. It did reduce the blushing, and hopefully he wasn't noticed...

Takuto Matsunagi

After letting some freshman out of the booth, Takuto decided to take a break for a while to discuss with some of his club members. "Seriously...interview a FRESHMAN? Can't you think of something more creative, like what you say you do? Takuto decided that that was enough for a break, and got back to the switchboard. "I need more intelligent people in this stupid club..." he muttered, though he was on air when he did. He didn't care, it happened most of the time.

Ren Fontaine

Ren sighed. He expected Kyouya to ask him this sooner or later.
Well, first off, I knew you would've gotten upset and tried coming with me or something like that and I just didn't have enough time to call you. I would've texted you, but my phone wasn't working all the way over there.
Ren rolled his eyes with a smile when Kyouya blew a kiss at the girl.

Ren smirked when a girl, who appeared to be Aya Kanade and she was dragging the other girl, Rin Orihara behind her. This should be interesting... Ren took his feet off the table and leaned in, resting his face in his hands.
Yes, a few freshman have come by and taken a flyer or signed the paper.
Ren smirked and looked at Rin. He decided to just ignore her comment, though he understood why she was doing it. She just really wanted Kyouya's attention. A group of freshman came up and signed the papers, took a flyer then left chattering about useless things. Ren sighed. Was this really the place he wanted to be today? Nope, not really.

Geez, why did everyone have to come here and attract so much unwanted attention? First, Rin was using her "womanly charm" to gather poor little freshmen boys, and he could clearly see Sokichi Hidari from a distance. He was all red and it seemed he was... talking to himself? That or he was talk to Fuuko Yukimara, but he kept glancing at Aya. Ren heard music playing at the music club booth and he looked up at Kyouya.
As much I enjoy having you here, don't you think your club needs your charm that-a-way?
Ren pointed in the direction of the club.

Akane Yamada

Akane was so bored. There were people rushing around everywhere, doing things that she was most likely not interested in. She looked beside her, and there was an interesting looking person on the other end of the bench. He had green hair and his eyes were pink. He also had long arms... like really long arms. Akane shrugged and scooted over next to him.
Hey, are there classes today? Also, do you have some gum?
Akane asked with a curious, yet serious expression on her face.

OOC: In case you were wondering, there actually aren't classes until after lunch. For today.

Aya glances over at Rin when the darker haired girl comments that no one would be able to resist Ren without a shirt. She raises an eyebrow at the girl's flirting, but continues to have a rather cheery expression on her face. After all, Rin does have the tendency to flirt quite excessive, known for being forward- rarely do people take her seriously because of this, perhaps for the best. Besides, Aya knows that she is likely just trying to grab Nakazuki-san's attention, not an uncommon venture for the girl. While Rin begins writing in her notebook, Aya herself looks over the sign up sheet for the club, glad to see that lots of freshmen are apparently interested in joining their team. Hopefully they will be good, or willing to put in the effort to improve. She hates the idea of any of them being the sort who complain about never winning, despite never trying. Hopefully no such people will join the team this year, but if they do, she'll manage to deal with it. Well, maybe not. She's never been known for her ability to hide her opinions, after all, a very blunt individual.

Aya looks up at Ren and Rin, only to see that Ren seems to be looking off in the distance. Following his line of sight, she sees the photography club booth, manned by two people at the moment. When one of them glances towards the swimming club booth, she recognizes him to have been in her class last year. Smiling, the young woman raises her hand and waves at him. She is then distracted by her own thoughts, though, remembering that she must ask the other second years what class they are in this year. Well, only Rin, as Ren and Nakazuki-San are both third years. She opens her mouth to speak, but the words mumbled over the intercom stop her, turning her words into a soft chuckle at Matsunagi-san having his words broadcasted. They so often are, though, and he never seems to care. What he says can occasionally be rude, though, and for that reason she isn't very close with him, contrary to the tendency of the more popular group to gravitate towards the members of the broadcasting club.

Back to the matter at hand, Aya turns to to Rin, "So, are you in class A- okay." She watches, unheard, as Rin makes her way over to the broadcasting club. "I'll find out later," she adds, looking briefly irritated before smiling once more and picking up a few of the swimming club flyers.

"Here, I'll help you pass out flyers," she offers, looking at one of them- they seem to be recycled from last year, not that she minds.

Sokichi Hidari

"She...she waved at me...<3" Sokichi thought to himself as he saw Aya wave at him. Out of courtesy and a sudden surge of energy, Sokichi excitedly waved back. After that he hid his face with his folder so no one could see his blushing face smiling. He also had to stop himself from giggling audibly enough for people to hear him. He took a few breathing exercises and tried to rock himself to calm down. He nearly fell off his chair, but he was able to hold onto the booth.

Aya takes Sokichi waving back at her as an opportunity to try and recruit him to the swimming team- if memory serves her, he's friendly enough, and hopefully the sort to be willing to put effort in towards things. Besides, even if he doesn't want to join, perhaps she can convince him to leave a few Swim Team flyers on the Photography Club's table. It would be rather helpful, though of course it seems as though the Swim Team has plenty of people signing up already. Not everyone who signs up is actually going to show up, and thus she wants to try and get as many people to sign up as she possibly can. When she nears, the young woman can hear a faint giggling sound, and for a moment stops to look around, trying to find the source of the soft laughter. She soon finds that it is actually coming from Sokichi, whose face is somewhat hidden behind a folder.

Now motivated more by curiosity than a desire to recruit more members, she stops in front of the photography booth and smiles. "Funny joke? Can I hear it?" she asks, genuinely wanting to hear the joke that she assumes must have been told. She has a rather terrible sense of humor, laughing at the corniest and most cliche of jokes, and so tends to laugh at the sorts that other people only kind of spare a smile for. On the other hand, jokes that make others' stomachs hurt only prompt a slight chuckle or smile from the girl. Returning to the subject at hand, she looks at both Fuuko and Sokichi, holding out a flyer to each of them.

"Hi. I'm Kanade Aya- I think we're all in the same year? Would either of you like to join the swimming team? It's lots of fun, and hard workers are welcome," she goes on to say, still holding the flyers out to both of the photography club members. "You can call me Aya-chan, by the way," Aya adds.

"You guys are the photography club, right? That sounds fun," she says cheerfully, before realizing that she hasn't gotten allowed them to get in a word in edgewise. Upon this realization, she falls silent, but her expression remains as bright as ever as she awaits their responses, whatever they may be.

Sokichi Hidari

"Funny joke? Can I hear it?" Sokichi looked up and say Aya smiling at him. He blushed a little and tried to hide it with the folder, but he placed it down as soon as he felt something collide with it.

"Hi. I'm Kanade Aya- I think we're all in the same year? Would either of you like to join the swimming team? It's lots of fun, and hard workers are welcome. You can call me Aya-chan, by the way. " Aya said as she held out fliers for him and Fuuko. He took one and looked into it.

The Swimming Team. His greatest disability and the girl of his dreams is part of it. He couldn't swim. No one (*cough*) knew why, but Sokichi placed most of the blame on genetics (*double cough*). The last time he was in a swimming pool was...let's just say embarrassing. It was also during that moment when he discovered that he can scream like a girl. "Lots of fun" indeed.

"Dang it...I can't swim, but I can't say no to her either...." Sokichi thought to himself and swore in his thoughts. It took some time before his mind registered that Aya was talking to him. "You guys are the photography club, right? That sounds fun." he heard her say.

"Yeah, it...kinda is..." Sokichi replied, "We're a bit low on members, but apparently we've got enough people to supply the newsletter with pictures. Aside from that, we just take photos for fun."

"Alright, Sokichi, calm down. Don't ruin it for yourself. Just stay calm..." Sokichi kept thinking to himself. He was blushing a little, but it didn't seem to matter. He just decided to enjoy the interaction with Aya-chan ("I...I can call her that! <3" he thought).

"Uh...Aya-chan..." Sokichi stuttered, still blushing a little, "I...I g-guess I c-could t-t-try..Oh, wh-when are the try-outs?" "Dang it, Sokichi, get your mind straight!" Sokichi thought to himself after a mental slap, "You can't swim! Ugh, why are you even doing this you stupid piece of-"

Fuuko was messing with her camera's settings when Hidari-san finally made it to the table. She nodded at him in greeting as silence envoloped the two until Hidari-san muttered something under his breath. She looked at him curiously, as did Songbird but waved it off as him being, well, him.

"Hi. I'm Kanade Aya- I think we're all in the same year? Would either of you like to join the swimming team? It's lots of fun, and hard workers are welcome. You can call me Aya-chan, by the way. "

Kanade Aya walked over and held out flyers. She didn't mind the girl at all. In fact, Fuwa kind of envied her a bit. She took the one for her and looked at it. Swimming team? She could swim but her lungs made it hard. She looked at Hidari-san who was freaking out in her eyes. She looked at the two other people around her and made the connection. "So he likes her huh?" Mentally, she grinned at the thought. Oh, how she'd tease him about it later...

"You guys are the photography club, right? That sounds fun."

"Yeah, it...kinda is..." Hidari-san replied, "We're a bit low on members, but apparently we've got enough people to supply the newsletter with pictures. Aside from that, we just take photos for fun."

She shrugged at Aya-chan. "It's pretty fun at times..." She agreed quietly. She looked back down at the flyer. Maybe, she could just try out. That wouldn't hurt, right? She thought on it. Surely, she could at least attempt to swim... Maybe not, she really doesn't want to pass out in front of people.

"Uh...Aya-chan..." Hidari-san stuttered, still blushing a little, "I...I g-guess I c-could t-t-try..Oh, wh-when are the try-outs?"

"I'll sit this one out. But thank you for the invite. Maybe I'll get some good pictures there, if I can still come watch." She handed the flyer back out to the girl. She made a safe decision, a good one. But she still felt like it was the wrong one.

Kei looks pleasantly surprised to see that Nagato, rather than growing angrier, simply walks over to the girl and sits down beside her under the tree. Character development if I've ever seen it, he muses with raised eyebrows, deciding to stop watching now, as he otherwise runs the risk of looking just a tad bit strange. Clear in his decision, the brown-eyed young man continues on, searching for a friendly, not just familiar, face with whom he can chat whilst waiting for lunch time- already, he's feeling rather hungry, to be honest, but he ignores it somewhat in favor of his search. Takuto Matsunaga is in his year, but appears to be currently occupied with Rin Orihara, one of the more well-known faces on campus. Well known for her looks and forwardness, mostly, but not typically deemed unlikable. Deciding that three is the perfect number of people in a conversation, he makes his way towards his classmate and underclassman with a lopsided grin.

"Hey there, Matsunagi-san, Orihara-san," he says whilst approaching them, expression amused, as it perpetually is, though this time because he could hear Takuto praising Rin from several meters away. No one can ever accuse Takuto of not speaking up, that much is definitely true- his voice tends to magnify, this perhaps being why he's president of the Broadcasting Club.

"Having fun messing around with the system, Orihara-san? From what I heard from a few miles away, you're joining Matsunagi-san's club, eh? Good luck dealing with him," he jests, clearly not meaning any harm, though some people do think of Takuto as having enough personality to be difficult keeping track of. Kei likes that about him- he's loud and energetic, things that Kei always has favored in a person, as it is. Besides, the two are in the same year, so he's seen Takuto plenty enough to get some hint at his personality, probably.

Of course, Kei does pride himself on being rather good at reading people, something probably developed over a recent history of perfecting the art of molding. If need be, he can become someone completely different than who he is- perhaps he doesn't do it as often as he had when younger, but the insecurity that fuels the ability remains strong enough for him to continue to be capable of the feat. Part of the skill is being able to get a good idea of a person's personality from even a tiny glimpse.

As both of the club members affirm her statement that the Photography club must be fun, Aya finds herself smiling again. She's always been good with situations like these, even if she also tends to move out of smalltalk very quickly. Most people will agree that the girl has a lot to say, but at least she's not going to trap someone with talk of the weather for half an hour. A tendency to ignore awkwardness to the best of her abilities also allows the girl to bypass the tense silence that might normally follow someone saying something overly strange- shes' quite fond of the strange, anyway. Well, people who say strange things, or have quirky personalities, anyway. She finds it interesting, and always seems willing to pester such people into some form of friendship.

"Right, I've seen the pictures in the newsletter- they're pretty cool. There was one of a few people eating lunch that I liked last year," she recalls, the picture actually having been of some people in her class last year, though she hadn't been part of the group photographed. The energy expressed by the photo made her smile, and she had actually kept the article it was paired with by her bed to look at for a while. As far as artistic skill goes, Aya has little to none, but she still likes to look at the works of others.

When Sokichi says that he is willing to try out for the team, Aya lights up once more, "Awesome! Our try out date should be on the flyer," she tells him, because the flyer also has the time, which she isn't completely sure of. Having gained at least one possible team member, Aya begins to turn towards Fuuko for her response. Unfortunately, it is a polite decline, as Fuuko would apparently rather not try for the team.

"Oh, well, that's fine- maybe next year?" she adds optimistically, though she doesn't know how likely it is that Fuuko will try out next year if she isn't doing so this year.

Sokichi Hidari

"Right, I've seen the pictures in the newsletter- they're pretty cool. There was one of a few people eating lunch that I liked last year." "Hmm...that was Fuuko-chan's photo." Sokichi thought. He likes that photo, but he wanted himself to shine too. Though Fuuko seemed to be more seasoned and experienced in that kind of photography, Sokichi was more on photojournalism, and a little bit of studio photography.

"Awesome! Our try out date should be on the flier." was Aya's reply to him going to the tryouts. He checked the date on the flier, gulped, and decided to tuck the piece of paper away for a while. He needed some time to prepare himself.

"I'll...be there." Sokichi replied at Aya, and tried to force a small smile. Swimming. The word itself made his shudder.

Takuto Matsunagi

"Hey there, Matsunagi-san, Orihara-san." Takuto turned and saw Kei near the booth. "Having fun messing around with the system, Orihara-san? From what I heard from a few miles away, you're joining Matsunagi-san's club, eh? Good luck dealing with him."

Takuto leaned a bit closer and he sat at the edge of his seat. "Hey, watch it Takamaru-san! I think she can take the heat!" Takuto replied with a chuckle.

"I'm sure we'll get along fine, I like him already." Rin said honestly, then blushed. Takuto's usually energetic expression changed into a bewildered one. Very few people seemed to actually "like" him, and he was surprised that Rin became one of them in a span of a few minutes. Kei, too, is one of them, though Takuto is yet to discover this. "You two are friends?" Takuto heard Rin say. He immediately reverted back to his usual expression.

"Well...not really, but I think we are..." Takuto replied, scratching his head in apparent confusion. Though he is good with socializing, Takuto never considered anyone as a "real" friend, and thus he finds the concept of friendship difficult.

"Awesome as Hecky," Aya says when Sokichi confirms that he will be there for the tryouts. She sticks both thumbs up, though it looks slightly awkward because a small pile of flyers is still being held by her right hand, and flops over her arm when she shifts it to free up her thumbs for the encouraging gesture. Naturally, Aya doesn't really think much of it, though she does eventually return to holding them normally, smile not fading. If there were some sort of contest for how long one could genuinely smile, she'd at least be second runner up or something along those lines. As it stands, now such contest seems to exist. So, she'll just have to make do with the swim team, and later in the year, trying to propel her class to success during the school festival.

"Alright, it's been nice talking to you! See you at tryouts," she tells him, planning to go and pass out more swim team flyers- Aya is nothing if not an active participant in things such as these, and doesn't want to miss any chance to get lots of cute little freshmen on the swim team. Besides, there may be some undiscovered gem, who won't join the team unless someone passes a flyer to them. That's her thought process, anyway, though it may not be particularly true to reality. With her parting remarks, Aya walks away and straight into a bundle of first years, who don't see her coming and jump three feet in the air when she suddenly speaks up just behind them. A few minutes later, however, she has convinced them to at least take flyers, and knows all of their names. Aya has always been rather good with faces and names, or so she likes to think.

After that group of freshmen, she decides to go check back at the table once more, where Ren continues to man the station, albeit somewhat reluctantly. "Increased our freshmen count yet, Mr. Captain? Wouldn't want the club to run dry once all of the seniors graduate, right?" this may be a legitimate concern, as she had heard from last year's seniors that the club, until the last few years, had often been struggling to gain enough members for a half-decent team.

Kei raises an eyebrow at Takuto skeptically- he doubts that very many people can keep up with the young man's pace, which at times can strike Kei as almost frantic. Then again, he himself is a lot slower paced, far more relaxed in nature that is, and therefore likely has a somewhat skewed perspective. "Don't burn her out, man," Kei responds with a good-natured tone, mostly just joking, though the warning does hold true to his concept of Takuto as fast-paced and unlikely to be able to really connect with people enough for them not to end up just being dragged along for the ride. The two aren't exactly friends, he knows, and because of this Kei is able to observe that, in complete honesty, Takuto doesn't really appear to have friends. Not close ones, anyway. He finds the way that Rin blushes kind of amusing, because the reason for it is somewhat, to him, transparent.

When she asks if he and Takuto are friends, Kei shrugs, because it isn't really the case. Kei is the sort who talks to lots of different people, but that doesn't mean he's friends with everyone whom he greets in the morning. He side glances at Takuto, who tries to formulate an answer, but comes across as very uncertain. "You hurt me, Matsunagi-san," Kei says, clutching his chest and rolling his eyes up dramatically. The fact that he calls Takuto 'Matsunagi-san' should be some indicator that they aren't particularly close. Rin then suggests that, being in the same year, they must have hung out before at some point.

"Well, yeah, I suppose so. We've been classmates before, but that's probably about it," Kei adds another shrug as he says this, with his palms raised towards the sky in a "beats me" kind of gesture.

"Speaking of- what class are you in this year, Matsunagi-san? I'm in 3A."

She sticks both thumbs up, though it looks slightly awkward because a small pile of flyers is still being held by her right hand, and flops over her arm when she shifts it to free up her thumbs for the encouraging gesture. Sokichi returned the gesture with a tip of his hat and his own thumbs up, which he does with a hand-horns and a slight tilt of the hand. It was his signature style, and he was seemingly the only one who uses it.

"Alright, it's been nice talking to you! See you at tryouts," she tells Sokichi before leaving. He tried to reach his hand to wave, but she was busy with some freshmen and can't see him. Sighing, he decided to forget about it and just leaned on his chair. In some time, he will swim. Whoop-de-doo.

He turned and saw Fuuko. Sokichi hoped she didn't notice anything...strange.

Takuto Matsunagi

Takuto looked around and saw that Rin went off to some other stuff of hers. She belongs to another club... he thought to himself, though he doesn't see the significance. Whatever the reason, Rin seemed to leave him to talk with Kei by himself. He decided to suck it up.

"Speaking of- what class are you in this year, Matsunagi-san? I'm in 3A." Takuto heard Kei say (it rhymes! :O). "I'm...also in 3A!" is what Takuto managed to bring himself to say, "I guess we're classmates again, eh? It'll be fun."

Paiyaku's father drove off to work after dropping Paiyaku off. He looked up at the towering structure of the school before sighing and walking quietly towards his class. He eyed the people in the halls as he passed them. When he found his homeroom door he stood quietly, unsure if he should go in yet. Paiyaku watched the people nearby and listened to their conversations. Every so often he would check the door to see if anyone had gone inside yet. He finally sat down and studied the marks on the floor.

"Are you excited for your first day?" Paiyaku's father asked while watching the car in front of him.

"I guess." Paiyaku sighed.

"I guess? When I was your age I couldn't wait to go to school."

"Didn't you drop out?"

"Of course not!"

"Oh..."

The ride couldn't be long enough. Paiyaku wanted to go see his mother, but his father restricted his visits.

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah, Dad. Just tired."

"I know you're worried about Mom, but you really need to focus on school."

"I shouldn't go see her?"

"I didn't say that, but you spent all day Saturday in her room, the hospital had to call me to get you to go home."

"I miss her."

"I miss her too and I go see her as often as I can, but I gotta take care of you and keep a roof over our head. I'm saving up so when she recovers we'll all go on a trip."

Paiyaku said nothing the rest of the ride and just studied the Tokyo skyline. He would be at school soon, the obstacle he had to overcome so he could go to the hospital. He promised himself he'd go see her every day. Even if his father was too busy to do it, there would always be one of them by her side.

"Well here we are!" His father said as he slowed the car to a stop at the drop off area.

"Have a good day!" He called as Paiyaku closed the door behind him.

"Right, I've seen the pictures in the newsletter- they're pretty cool. There was one of a few people eating lunch that I liked last year,"

"My picture?" Fuuko wondered, tapping her camera in thought. She just snapped that one out of boredom, it wasn't even one of her best works! She chewed on her bottom lip, thinking. Even with the honest expressions of the people, how could that be a good picture? She wondered this while Hidari-san pledged himself to go to try-outs, even though she swore she saw him pale and look very nervous. "Can he even-Ooh..." Hidari-san, in all his infinite coolness, couldn't swim. That's definitely something she didn't expect.

As Aya left the table, Fuuko noticed Hidari-san looking at her. "Oh trust me, I noticed you little problem..." She merely let her lips quirk upward slightly, in an almost-smile. "So, Hi-Da-ri-Saan~" She began, resting an elbow on the table to look at him better. "It seems like, at least to me, that you like Aya-san very, very much. So much that you are going to try to swim." She stood up and picked up her bag. "You shouldn't hide your feelings. It never ends well in animes after all. Later. I'll see you in class." She walked out from behind the table and looked at Hidari-san one last time. "And I guess I can give you some tips or something, but you'd owe me." She let her almost-smile turn into a smirk before her face was blank again. She slung her bag over her shoulder and walked off, her camera around her neck.

As she walked by a First Year class, she noticed a young boy just sitting there, alone. So much like herself. She watched him for a bit before walking over and tapping gently on his desk to get his attention. When he did look at her, she felt her demeanor soften a bit. The kid was way too cute looking for his own good. "Hey, are you interested in joining the Computer club? We need new members and you seem like the person that's into tech. Or maybe I'm just reading too far into this..." She laid a flyer on his desk, one she always kept on hand. She stood around, waiting for an answer. The more she waited, the more akward she felt.

When he saw who was talking he blushed when he realized it was a girl and could only find the courage to say, "yes, I'd like to join."

He looked the flier over before smiling at Fuuko and asking, "what happens at the club?"

Feeling more confident he added, "I built my own computer."

Oh that was stupid!He thought.
Why are you bragging? She obviously knows or else she wouldn't have read you as being into computers. Just try not to say anything else that will give her a reason to make fun of you. His thoughts raged as he beat himself up for bragging.

Paiyaku resumed smiling and said, " not that I'm bragging of course."

Sokichi Hidari

"Oh trust me, I noticed you little problem..." Sokichi heard Fuuko tell him with a small smile. Oh, shoot he thought. "So, Hi-Da-ri-Saan~It seems like, at least to me, that you like Aya-san very, very much. So much that you are going to try to swim." She stood up and picked up her bag. "You shouldn't hide your feelings. It never ends well in animes after all. Later. I'll see you in class." She walked out from behind the table and looked at Sokichi. "And I guess I can give you some tips or something, but you'd owe me."

Sokichi waited until Fuuko was far from him. When she was far enough, he sunk his head upon his palms. "DANG IT!!!" he mentally yelled at himself, and let it out as a whisper. The sheer thought of confessing his love for Aya was dreadful, but the fact that Fuuko "read" it from him was quite devastating. He then spent some time wondering if he was too obvious.
