I was sitting on the rocky cliff of our fair isle, Samayon. It was my favorite place in the whole wide world. I had always come to this spot, the spot where dreams came true, and where I could see the ships come in. I would sit here for hours at a time, thinking what it would be like to jump off this cliff, and just fly away. Maybe become a pirate and discover new isles, stealing from the rich, to give to the poor...

I hit my staff on the ground with each step. I figured there had to be someplace souls are bound to on this island. And that wasn't the sort of question I should ask anyone. But, seeing as I was walking around with a deceased head on a stick, I didn't think it would be too hard for people to take a guess what I would be doing at such a place. As long as they didn't guess why. I had my sincerest doubts that I would find such a place. So I kept trudging along, looking for such an oasis of the only company I enjoy.

As I stood up and stretched, my bones cracked into place. Well I suppose, I best get back to the stupid castle. I hate it... "there! I'd almost rather be locked up in the dungeon then be queen! Queens have rules, you have to sit demurely, not the comfortable way, the way men sit. I have to stand when ever someone bows to me. But the worst are the dresses! They are uncomfortable, and itchy, and weigh more then a full grown ox! It is just stupid!"

Mervin stopped walking and looked up to the castle. He shielded his eyes from the sun as he examined the high walls when there was a noise behind him. He turned to see what it was and found that someone had decided to walk around smacking the bottom of their staff on the ground.(By whom I mean the necromancer person...) "Slow down there sparky. Where'd you get those robes? Wannabe wizards?" Mervin talked in a sarcastic tone, and once again had to look up to see the face of who he was talking to. "Maybe Magic Bargains?" The cat like creature turned his head until his neck made a 'cracking' noise, and then turned it the other way. "Nice day to hop on over to Magic Castle, maybe their dragon'll burn the prices down!"

Is that a cat? Python stopped and looked at the little furry creature on the ground. Whoever made this must've wanted to bring great annoyance to a lot of people. "I don't have time for the likes of you, but If you do decide to keep talking like that, I'm going to end up a very lucky person. Four cats' paws, and a nice meal. You're big mouth must be able to feed a whole family." Or, I could try and bound him to eternal life...for a few minutes. He flipped his staff upside down and pressed it on the ground, grass turning brown around the skull. Hopefully a blunt impact over his head is enough to kill it because I have no plan other than that. Maybe this dead grass would scare it. He glared emotionless at the cat and hoped his bluff would work.

Mervin looked down at the brown grass. He kept a strait face to the person's reply to his comments. "You don't scare me." He took a step back and turned his head to gaze back up at the castle, then looked back. "No one is lucky facing this." Mervin stretched his hands/paws(things?) and showed his claws. Maybe they were small, and maybe no one ever died from a paper cut, but it was still annoying as could be. "Wait... scratch that... Oh man that sucked! I am so terrible at tough guy lines!" Mervin turned around and, with his claws back in place, put his face in his hands. Stupid stupid stupid... He muttered to himself.

Okay, maybe hitting it over the head will work... Python lifted up his staff and flipped it back right side up. He pulled it back a bit and pushed the bottom forward, tapping his back. "Are cats supposed to be tough? Last time I checked they were docile house pets kept for killing the common household pests. Or to keep old ladies company. Or to be a witch's assistant. You're not too different from most cats I meet...except you can talk obviously. And if any other cat heard what I just said they would've attached themselves to my head and begun to swipe their claws across my face." If that doesn't cheer him up I tried.

Shuuya sat on the chimney of an old house. Some distance away he could see the large walls of the foreboding castle. It always gave him an unwelcomed feeling of fear. He was dressed neatly in his white button up shirt and black slacks. His black tie and matching hair blew in the wind as the sun's glow cast his eery shadow across the street before him. He held a bright white flute, similar in color to the snow. He played gently, the serene melody filled the air and traveled throughout the area.

His flute was one of the few activities Shuuya enjoyed, mostly because he really couldn't remember much about his past. The sun's rays warmed the air, and every now and then a cloud would block it out for a moment, but it would pass and he would return to sitting in the sun. His song was quick and light, piercing the air with a feeling of odd happiness. When he had finished his song, his eyes opened slowly. They glowed in an odd purple color. His face went from happy to completely bored once again. This was his normal expression. A bored look that seemed like he couldn't be bothered to do anything. However, this is only due to his being alone. He fears others, for reasons he really doesn't understand, so he's always avoided them. Looking up at the castle a distance away, he knew that this place was bustling with the people who lived under the queen, and an area he disliked very much.

"Today's just another... tiresome day..." He muttered, standing up. He adjusted his tie in annoyance. Irritating thing... He thought, placing his flute in his pocket.

"Oh, I'll show you docile!" Mervin spun around quickly and faced Python, who appeared to still be talking. He crouched and then jumped up, hissing, trying to attach himself to Python's head so he could scratch it several million times. He knew that he was more likely to just get hit over the head by the man's big club, but oh well. If the man did try to hit him, Mervin could try to dodge, and scratch. "I'm not so docile now, am I?"

Oh, I've done it now haven't I? I angered a cat. Of all things a cat. Instinctively, Python swings around his staff and hopes to at least knock the cat to the side, or at least change it's area of impact. This has happened too many times with too many animals. I need to take a vacation... Maybe this one is somewhat smarter than usual. Might be useful in the long run. A guide to the island perhaps? That is, if I don't get an artery ripped apart...

I looked over to the old house. It wasen't close enough to walk to in a dress, but to close to ride in a carriage. 'Maybe I should just take a horse and go there alone...' Many people at the castle said it was haunted, or over run with all sort of, as the ladies in waiting said, nasty little beasts. (Mainly mice, rats, and at rare times, even snakes!) I didn't now why they were so afraid of snakes and rats. I like them! Snakes are my favorite. 'Why not! I'm going there. Tonight!" I walked a bit faster to the castle. Thats when I saw a man, who had a walking stick that had what looked like a scull on it. I shouted at him. "Is that a scull? Can I touch it?"

Shuuya lept from his position on the roof, landing in the street easily. He stands up, and adjusts his tie once more. His dull expression remains unchanged as he walks down the quiet streets. He purposely avoids large crowds, hoping instead to find the old merchant he had bought his flute from.

It was an odd flute, no matter how you look at it. Made in the shape of bone, and pure white in color. He had happened across it from an old man, that he remembered. The old man was just a traveling merchant but it struck an odd sense of familiarity within Shuuya. He knew he had to buy it immediately after seeing it.

Anyways, at the time the lanky guy was walking towards the castle. There would be more and more people as he got closer, which made him nervous, but he would also see the various merchants and shops when he got closer. He ran a hand through his messy black hair once more. This wind's irritating me... He thought. His formal atire couldn't really be explained. From the point of his lost memories to this time, he had worn clothes like this. He was hoping that wearing what he must have worn when he lost his memories would bring a little of his memories back, but it had proved useless to this point.

"Hm...?" He looked up, the merchants were appearing closer and closer. Various knick-knacks, weapons, and the like were set up in small tents, and behind those sat larger shops which sold a variety of things.

(wow, two people in passed tense, two in 1st person, and one that switches between passed and present. What a neat little group...)
Mervin hit the floor with an 'umph,' but didn't stop there. The force of his impact caused him to bounce back up slightly and roll over. He groaned and clenched his eyes closed. "Ow..." One of Mervin's hands slowly reached up to the left side of his head were he had been hit, the other lay across his stomach. "...that... that hurt..." Had he been able to, Mervin would have cursed very loudly, but he couldn't. His head hurt to much. "... a lot..."
After a minute or so, Mervin opened his eyes. For a second he thought he might have been going blind. The man who hit him was a colorful blob standing nearby. "Real... docile... now..." He said slowly, with a very small chuckle.

Seeing the little creature become a little more manageable, Python grinned just a little. Satisfied that he was able to almost knock out a cat, he turned to see who the voice coming from behind him belonged to. Oh, no...why is it that I stick out so much and draw attention to myself? "While you can, I suggest you don't because touching the skull can cause immediate agonizing pain and possibly death, but definitely an amputation in the contacted limb." Yeah, right. This thing hasn't killed anyone since it was first made, and the creator died of a disease that the skull's owner had contracted... A bluff, but one he hoped that would work well enough to keep yet another person away from his personal space.

By this time, Shuuya was busy looking for the old merchant he had met so long ago... but to no avail. In the end he only found a few merchants that sold musical instruments, but none were the one he was looking for. So, instead he continued onwards. This time it was just pointless wandering. A few people eyed him for his formal clothes and lanky figure. How irritating... People are looking at me... This caused him to grow nervous once more. He really didn't like crowds, so he was happy that the people seemed to disperse as he got closer and closer to the castle.

While he was walking he saw something that resembled a guy beating a cat with a wooden staff. He dismissed this, passing by them silently as he walks over to one of the stores close by to the castle. He jumps up, landing on the roof with ease. He sits down, and looks over the building to the street. It's a good place to be if he wanted to avoid others, while still being able to see other people. He took out his flute once more, staring at it as he wondered what had happened to the old merchant.

"Man..." He sighed, looking up at the man with the wooden staff again. This time, a royally dressed young lady was questioning him about the staff. Shuuya couldn't hear their talking from here, but he didn't mind. He held the flute up to his lips and began playing a soft melody, that echoed through the area. It was calm and relaxed, in a way that matched his appearance nicely.

"I find that hard to believe. Besides the best healers are all at my castle." I hated using the 'Queen' exuse, but that scull was facinating. "Wait, what happened to Mervin? If you hurt him I will find five thousand reason to kill....." I couldn't help it! I giggled." Ok, I wouldn't kill you. But whats with the scull? Are you a necromancer? I've always thought it would be amazing to be able to raise the dead!" By then I had picked Mervin up, and cuddled with him. The whole time I had been chating to him, there was some beautiful music being played. I looked around trying to find where it was coming from. Thats when I saw a well dressed man on the roof of one of the buildings. "You know thats the oldest building in the castle walls, right? It could fall down any minute. You play that flute beautifly. Can you teach me? I'll pay you better then any other person in the land."

Wait a minute...her castle? Python knew that letting too much information out now would be very detrimental. He would have to play it smart and clever. "It's an heirloom. I am not a necromancer. And that is completely impossible..." ...for me. He followed her gaze when it shifted to someone playing a flute on a roof. While the music seemed pleasing to others, it was oddly annoying to him. Then his suspicions were proved true. Pay more than anybody else, eh? He began formulating ideas in his head to, hopefully, easily get out of this situation, and possibly gain a guide and some loot as well.

"Well, back to our conversation. To bad your not a necromancer... I would pay well to have a friend of mine... what... necromanced? Raising the dead is such an amazing power. Some would kill for it..." I was playing him. He thought I would pay well, and all men love money. The part of a friend was a complete falsehood. But if he could teach me how to be one... I wouldn't have to be Queen. I could raise my father from the dead, and then leave. Maybe even go to the fabled Full Moon Isle...

Jackpot! Those words were music to his ears. Forget the cat. I have royalty to guide me around here. Risky indeed but my best chance nonetheless. "Hold on a second. Maybe I do dabble in necromancy, just a bit." He couldn't help but have a smug look on his face. Maybe I can't raise someone as they once were right now, but maybe with a little something more... I can help her, and she can help me. But it won't be exactly as I planned, which will work out perfectly! I might be able to blackmail royalty! "I am at your service. Now where is your friend?" I'm not dealing with another animal, so hopefully she means human remains...

Shuuya blinks. The royally dressed young lady had just asked him a question. He stops playing the flute and jumps off the roof, flipping before landing in front of the others. He adjusts his tie, his bored expression had returned. "I apprerciate your kindness, Miss... but I'm not exactly one to teach..." He eyes the staff carrying guy closely. It appeared that he was a mage of some sorts. Well now... That's fairly interesting.. He thought. He rubbed the back of his head.

"However... you people... wouldn't know about this..." He draws a blank on the name, and resorts to just waving his hand about in the air. "...place, do you...? I'm... how to put it, 'looking' for something..." He continued. I couldn't possibly tell them I have no memories past a few days ago, but maybe they can tell me a bit about this place... I have a feeling it may prove useful...Not to mention... He looks at the mage again, but only for an instant in order to avoid the two catching on. This person... may know of something that could help me...

Shuuya blinks, sighing a bit. This wasn't exactly what he was expecting, but he guessed it would be alright. "Um... Well I want to know about..." He paused in thought. Now what do I say? Darn it... This is so irritating... I can't just randomly ask about this place over and over. If I do that, even if I do learn something from it, it will take far too long and by then I'll probably be a nuisance to the Queen here.. He adjusts his tie in annoyance.

"About myself." He sighed, deciding he may as well tell her the truth. It's no use trying to hide what it is that's wrong with him. If the young lady was willing to help a person like him, he may as well be honest with her. "I want to know about myself." He repeated in order to say it in one breathe, instead of pausing. His dull eyes stared at the Queen. "You see... I've lost all of my memories... and I can't remember much of anything...."

Had Mervin not been suffering from such a terrible headache, he probably would have rejected to the lady cudling him or ask why she knew his name. "Wha... wh-... what...?" The catlike being started to pur. To pur! What a ridiculas thing to do!

After another few minutes he realized he was doing this and stopped. Mervin looked and the royaly dressed lady holding him and couldn't decide wether to grimace or smile, so he did neither. Mervin instead closed his eyes and dosed off into dreamland.

The risk is that your brain may, ummmmm, explode... So we will do it the manual way! First, what can you remember? A name, a person, or a house.
