When Allison Ervine was seventeen, her boyfriend of four months, Joshua, impregnated her. They were both only juniors in high school, and did not have the time or money to raise a child. Allison was college-bound, and Joshua was... not. Nor would he stick around to help raise a baby. They made the wise but painful decision to give the baby up for adoption.

A young couple who were unable to have children adopted the baby boy, who Allison has started calling Tommy, a month after he was born. It was very difficult for Allison to give him up, but her parents said there wasn't a choice anymore. The couple, Maya and Paul Ravens, changed his name to Emery.

Paul was diagnosed with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder when Emery was two years old. Paul continuously had thoughts of killing his son and parents, which is classified under the intrusive thoughts type of OCD. Instead of seeking further help for his disorder, he left his family. He never told anyone where he was going or what he was planning to do. Emery doesn't even remember the man. Paul has never contacted Maya or his other relatives.

Emery was an average child. He got okay grades, usually B's. He was an alright athlete, playing baseball until eighth grade, then joining the football team his freshman year. The one thing he always loved was math. He always knew that he wanted to go to college for something mathematics related. After scoring high on his SAT, he applied and was accepted to two schools, Cleveland State University and Fulton University. He originally wanted to attend Cleveland State University, but Maya wanted him to go to Fulton, so he decided it was a good choice for him to go there instead.

He doesn't like to make people feel bad. He's a people-pleaser, you could say. Emery's also very ambitious and hard working. He wants everything to be right. He wasn't great in school until his sophomore year in high school. But now he is more intelligent and more willing to try to get good grades.

Emery is very stubborn, though. He wants to do what he wants to do, when he wants to do it. This is why he had a hard time in school until he was 15. He's very firm in his beliefs. Thoughts on Greek Life: "I never thought I'd be a part of Greek life. It actually sort of scared me when I was a freshman. The idea of rushing was horrifying. I thought no one would like me, and I wouldn't like any of the other rushers. But when I met the guys from Kappa Alpha, it made me realize that they aren't all like the frat boys you see on TV. Kappa is definitely the perfect fraternity for me. Almost every member has been highly intelligent, and they have all been good, determined people. I also never expected to become president. I love having all these younger guys around all the time. It's nice to be looked up to.

Plans for after college: "I've actually got a job set up for myself. My grandfather knows a guy who owns a computer repair business, and I'll be accounting there for a while until I can find a... better job. I want to make money. I want to give back to my mom for everything she's helped me do. Hopefully I'll find a career as a financial analyst somewhere."

The campus was alive with excitement, anxiety, nerves, and anticipation. A new school year had begun the second students began moving back onto campus, but now, it finally seemed to hit them. For some, it was their final year at the beloved Fulton University, one of the top universities in the country. For others, it was their first year. Either way, there was a sort of buzz all around campus, a tingle each and every student felt as they greeted this year of opportunities and adventure. And what better way to start it all off than with the one thing on everybody's mind - Rush Week. Granted, these would only be the preliminary rounds, but who knows what could happen on the very first day...

As the track slowly moved to its conclusion and after receiving a nod from one of her favorite radio partners, Naomi officially turned the dial for the sound down, speaking into her microphone clearly with her ever present and rich British lilt. "That was 2 On by Tinashe, the best song of Summer 2014. You heard it here at Fulton U Hot 103.4." Ronnie, or Ronald when he was in their political science class with Dr. Skarsgaard who truly did not care for pleasantries or students, much less, grinned at her making a face at him for pressing one of the controls, which caused a squelching sound appear just after she finished her sentence. He played too much sometimes and she had half the mind to reach over the table of controls that separated them just to swat him on the head, but opted against it. She had to go soon anyway. She rolled her eyes at him before continuing, "This is your girl Nomi, NomiIzMe, and I'm about to turn everything over to my co-host, RonnieB. Don't get forget to holla at your girl at the beautiful Zeta Nu Delta House stand at the 2014 Fulton University Activities Fair. Hope to see you all there." With a mock salute and her favorite mix of India Arie and a beat from DJ Mustard, Naomi spelled her own exit and turned everything over to Ronnie, nodding to him as she set down her headset before exiting the large recording area.

Once outside in the busy hallway, she hoisted her bag over her shoulder and made her way through the crowd, the gold of her Zeta Nu Delta custom-made bracelet catching a glint from the sun, which peeked in through the barely closed blinds of one of the hallway windows. Smirking to herself as she saw a few noticeable freshmen males whispering to themselves and glancing over at her, she twirled a few strands of hair with her pointer finger, shooting them a sultry grin accompanied by a wink before turning the corner. The move was harmless and judging by an exclamation followed by a quiet roar of excitement from where they had, it had the desired effect. She didn't mess around with freshmen guys and never would, but it definitely was fun toying with them. Not that she would ever lead them on or anything of that nature, but flirting was harmless. Besides, she wouldn't be a true Zeta if she didn't have a bit of a flirt in her. A more genuine smile flitted across her face at the thought of her girls and without hesitation, Naomi whipped out her phone to text them just as she pulled into one of the many bathrooms on the first floor to simply check on her image.

To: Zoey, Amelia, Sierra
Omw 2 the booth. 1 of u better b there

Naomi wasn't particularly worried about any of the girls showing up late, she decided, as the text was sent. She had already specified that one of the other sophomores would set up with some of the baked goods Naomi had made the night before. She slid her phone into her back pocket before primping her hair. She had chosen one of her more fun outfits for the day. It was eye-catching enough to remind everyone that she was a fashionable woman, but simple enough to not do too much in. Naomi could be a lot of things, but she wasn't that much of a show-off. Besides, that tomboyish edge was her thing and she always had to make sure it was on point. After reapplying the natural-looking shade of pink lip gloss on her lips and that her hair was still on point, she gave herself one more appraisal before leaving the bathroom and heading out to one of the larger grassy areas of Fulton University, where the Activities Fair was to take place. Every year, the location changed and she actually preferred the area they chose for this year. It was spacious and open, and left room for some of the campus' more physically active organizations to show off. It was like a tame Zeta/Sigma party, except without the booze and heavy grinding. Just a paid DJ and everyone weaning out their favorites.

Once outside, it didn't take her long to get to her booth, which was closer to the Sigma table. She frowned a bit when she didn't see Miles yet and decided to find her favorite Sigma, setting her bag down beside her chosen chair and taking a seat. Folding one smooth leg over the other, she grinned at the Zeta who had watched the table in her absence before pulling out her phone to text Miles and her other best friend.

To: Miles
Slacking on your pres duties?

To: Sam
U better not b sleep

Emery loves mornings. Always has, even when he was a little kid. There's just something about being able to watch the sun rise, all orange and bright up there. And going back to college didn't change this addiction whatsoever. He was up at five thirty this morning, ready to start an exciting rush week - and his first week as president of Kappa Alpha. Right after he woke up, he made himself a heaping plate of chocolate protein pancakes, watched the sun come up on his balcony, and hopped in the shower. He didn't want to take too long, because there were still preparations that needed to happen for the fair today. He got dressed, did his hair, and was completely ready by six thirty. No one else seemed to be awake yet, but that wouldn't last much longer on his watch.

"Rise and shine, boys!" Emery yelled into the telephone that controlled the loud speaker in the frat house. It was installed by last year's president, Ravi Cheever. It projected whatever was said into the telephone (located in the president's bedroom) to all the boys' rooms, the kitchen, and the living room. It was super helpful when everyone was asleep, because it always sounded louder than the person talking actual was. "Everyone's gotta be at the stand in one hour. No slackers today, fellas. And I need five guys to help carry tables and food."

The Kappa boys were usually very helpful when it came to this kind of thing. There was quite a lot to be carried to the fair. Luckily, the Kappa house is closest to that area of campus, only about a five minute walk. Emery and his brothers carried two tables, a grill, and five coolers of food and beverages. On the menu today was seafood: shrimp, lobster, crab, etc. Lee, a junior Kappa, had an uncle who was a fisherman off the coast of Connecticut. So, all the meat was free. They also had close to three hundred cans of pop, five dozen red velvet brownies made by Emery himself, and a cooler of virgin Bloody Marys for all the incoming freshmen, and whoever else stopped by the table.

When everything was situated, a bit of stress was taken off of Emery's shoulders. Posters were hung, the grills were lit, and music was playing in the background. The Kappa table was set up right next to the Alphas. Not exactly Emery's first choice spot, but it was better than being by the Betas. He would rather be stationed next to the Thetas, that's for sure. He put Lee on grilling duty, and decided to wander around the tables to check out all the other houses' progress.

He stopped at the Alpha stand first, since it was the closest. Elysia and some of the other girls were sitting around their booth, looking dapper as ever in their usual green and pink get-ups. He didn't want to admit it, but the display, and the girls themselves, looked good. He knew talking to Elysia would be weird, considering their rocky past, but he hadn't seen her at all in the past couple of months since school got out. So he decided to strike up a conversation, not knowing where it would go. "Your booth looks nice. Got any food I can try while my boys are grilling up ours? I don't usually settle for second best, but I guess I'll have to this time," he teased. He knew that they weren't close anymore, but Elysia could take a joke better than some people.

Elysia showed no signs of being impressed as Naomi's table filled with more food than just baked goods, her brow lifting as if to say Is that all you've got? She had a brief interaction with Antonio, posing in a silly manner before turning to see that more tables had arrived. The Alpha girls moved quick, showing that one could be graceful and swift in heels of all kinds, and began to set them up as well. Plates of silver were set down with glass covers, an array of food underneath. Elysia grabbed her clipboard and pen, walking slowly as she began to check everything off.

After she checked everything from the list and thanked the boys she had enlisted for help before signing for the sushi she ordered. Her gaze fell to Naomi again and she gave a polite smile. ”Yaye tanka nains yaye tiyatakiya, Naomi.” Again, she spoke in one of her Native tongues, shrugging a bit. β€œGo big or go home. You didn't really think this was all we brought, did you?” She motioned to the first table that had been placed with the large cake, cake pop assortment, and the vegetable tray. This was her last year at Fulton and she was definitely going to go out with a bang in true-blue Elysia Hanta style.

She observed the tables around her and gave an appreciative nod at the variety that was sure to fill up anyone who stopped by. The Betas had their barbecues going, though she wasn't going to eat anything that Jack didn't cook. She knew already that the meat was organic because she told Jack last week that she was going to stop by their booth for some food since Alphas weren't bringing meat that wasn't on a small sandwich. The Zetas, in true Zeta fashion, had food that was showed that they were the house of parties, having things that looked like appetizers from TGI Fridays along with some baked goods and a really delicious looking cheesecake.

Alphas, however, had set up their tables so that it looked more like they were hosting one of their soirees and were expecting to feed a mob all on their own, boasting a huge natural and organic selection. Elysia planned on divvying up the leftovers to take back to the Alpha house and using the other half to take down to the Curly's House of Style -- She had called the soup kitchen yesterday and promised to bring them a decent amount of leftovers, planning to take some from the Betas as well. She wasn't a total selfish bitch. She had some compassion buried beneath her shallow surface and she enjoyed her community service.

She looked over her own table again before biting the inside of her cheeks and setting down her clipboard. Everything looked really delicious and she was dying to have a bite. She did her best to limit her sweets, having struggled with her eating habits as a child; Her mother often pushed her too hard and drove young Elysia into chowing down on comfort foods. Isi once pulled a "Miss Trunchbull" and forced Elysia to eat an entire chocolate cake that made her so sick that she couldn't even look at sweets for two years without thinking about it and vomiting. Those were secrets that she had only ever told Jack, Karma, and Emery. She had found it strange that she'd told Emery more than a few secrets about her childhood. It wasn't that she didn't think of him as close, because she did consider him a close friend, though she'd been distant the past few months. But she just thought it was weird to think back to how she'd lay back and talk about her life with him after sex.

Discarding such terribly distracting thoughts, she reached out and plucked up one of the tiny brownies, all but losing herself in the taste of the cream cheese icing that was swirled on top. She closed her eyes and sighed happily before turning around and coming face to face with Emery. The shock caused her to gasp, inhaling not fully chewed bits of brownie. She choked a bit before grabbing a lemonade, downing it in a single gulp. She gasped for air, flushing with embarrassment. Her face was now pink enough to nearly match her jacket. β€œDon't sneak up on me like that!” She didn't mean to yell at him and shame immediately took the place of embarrassment. β€œSorry, Em.” She gave an apologetic smile before motioning to the three tables.

β€œWell, we've got our signature Alpha cake, cake pops, Amodini's pita chips, cranberry apple pecan feta dip, seasonal fruit tray, shrimp tray, cocktail sauce, garlic knots, marinara sauce, cheese platter, chocolatines, dipped strawberries, mini eclairs, sushi assortment, tea cookies, sweet tea, lemonade, sandwich samplers, assorted cookies – some of them are dipped in white and dark chocolate and drizzled, and cream cheese icing topped brownies. Pick your poison.” She did her best to remain nonchalant in his presence, but she couldn't stop herself from speaking rapidly and fiddling with her earrings, a clear sign of Elysia anxiety. She was never this nervous around Emery, or anyone. Since freshman year and up until the past few months, the only tension there was between them was of the sexual sort. There were times when she didn't know what to say to him or how to act, but it had never been this bad. She felt like she didn't know how to interact with him now. How did one casually hang out with someone they used to sleep with on a near daily basis? Especially when that someone was friends with your girlfriend who didn't know about the aforementioned activities.

She must look strange, behaving so. As far as the other Alphas knew, she was just pissed off because Natalie's fingers had gotten sticky again. She was sure Emery knew differently. She moved a bit closer, angling her body towards him and away from others as she lowered her voice and made eye contact. She tried not to get lost in his scent, grinding her teeth for a moment as she composed herself, her knuckles now cracking. β€œI'm sorry about... Being distant. This isn't really a situation I know how to handle. It's not like there's a handbook...” For once in her life, there was a pleading for forgiveness, genuine pleading, in her tone and her eyes. She'd known Emery longer than she'd known Emerson, even if only by a week or two, and she didn't want him to be mad at her. Even if she knew he had every right to be. Nor did she fancy having him think that she was just using him for sex. Because it was about as far from the truth as it got.

β€œWe could hang out later... If you want.” She knew now might not be the best time or place for begging for forgiveness, though she'd never admit that she was begging. She wasn't that humble. However, she really did want to hang out with him later and make an attempt at acting normal around him. And not normal as in... Well, not their normal, post Elyson ship normal. But normal... Normal, as in "just friends" normal. No matter how much she was thinking about dragging him to a car right now. She chastised herself for the thoughts and scrunched up her nose in frustration. Avoiding him had been a bit easier, but she didn't plan on taking the easy way and losing him as a friend. She didn't know why it meant so much to her. Or maybe she did and she wouldn't admit it. Either way, she had to clear things up now so she'd know whether or not it was safe to hang around him at the jamboree.

"Poppy. Pops... Poppy! The Southern girl jumped up from the island in the kitchen as she looked around for who had woken her up. And there she saw a junior Theta named Giselle who was also kind of her best friend. "Wha-- What? What time is it?! Did we miss the fair--.." Poppy asked as she got up from the stool and looked up at her friend who just shook her head. "Nope, you're good. You just need to get all this stuff to the table, pep-talk the girls, and get your cute little butt down there." Giselle said as she nudged her friend with her hip playfully. Poppy just giggled as one by one the girls started to shuffle down stairs. She cleared her throat as she turned towards them. "Alright, guys this is it. The first impression that we'll make on the rushers. We have to make sure everything goes off without a hitch. Just be yourselves, have fun, and make sure you make Theta Chi proud." She told them as she handed two baskets filled with little baked goods with little Theta Chi stickers on them to her 'second-in-command', Gigi who just stood behind her making sure everyone was paying attention to the new President. "Other than that, I'm gonna go head down to the booth. So, just get all gussied up and I'll see ya'll down there in... An hour or so?" She turned back to Giselle. "Think that's enough time?" Giselle nodded as Poppy smiled towards her sisters. "Alright, I already know this is going to be a great year for Theta, guys! I can feel it."

"Alright, alright, that's enough motivation. Lets get down there to see if your little boyfriend's down there yet." Poppy blushed as she heard a few of the girls 'oooh' and she tossed her purse in one of the two baskets she was holding as she shook her head. "Not my boyfriend, don't listen to her." Giselle just chuckled as the two headed to the door with four other girls right behind them holding the table and various posters and items like buttons and little trinkets for the rushers to take with them so they don't forget Theta Chi. As they made there way to the area, Poppy put on a smile as she passed several people. Poppy was easily that girl that everyone, maybe wasn't friends with but, by no means hated. She was too nice. Hell, you could think you didn't like her but, before you knew it she would suck you into liking her one way or another whether she meant to do it or not... No one really knew if she meant to. She put the baskets down as she straightened out her skirt before smiling as they girls put the table and things down. "Thanks guys. I think Giselle and I can handle the table for a bit. If ya'll would like to you know, go look around see what tickles your fancy, by all means go ahead." She told the junior girls as they thanked her and walked off to see what they might want to do. She turned towards her side to see that she was set up right next to the Betas, which was of course not her first choice but, at least she was next to Jack-Jack and she could finally ask him about her little request to 'un... Perfect her...? If that was the right term for it.

Poppy scurried to a sophomore Kappa named Daniel and a junior named James as she tapped their shoulders with a smile. "Hi, um can you help us with the table? Please." She quickly turned her blue eyes towards the ground. James chuckled at her adorableness before looking at Daniel. "'Course Pops." She smiled before hugging the two of them."Thanks guys! I would have asked Emery but he seems a bit fill with flirting with Alphas." She chuckled as she walked to her table and saw Giselle already doing what she does; bullshit. She could make a mermaid buy water if she really wanted to. She was standing talking to these three bright eyed girls as they did nothing more than listen to the young junior Theta. Poppy put her hand on Giselle's shoulder as she brought herself into the conversation. "Hi, I'm Poppy, I'm the president of Theta Chi." Their smiles got even bigger as they looked towards her. "Hi." They said in unison as Giselle chuckled. Poppy nudged her before turning back towards the girls. "Well, I can tell you guess are just what Theta desires in young woman. So, please help yourself in any of.. our little goodies..." She said as she turned to see the whole table put up along with light blue and gold Theta Chi tablecloth that they used for events. With the goods right next to their two chairs and the cooler with Theta's name on it places right next to Poppy's chair, right where people could see it. "Guys, I said just the table. You did not need to do everything."

"We know." Daniel said as he grabbed the posters and stands. "Poppy moved out of the way as she offered the two young guys a hug and a kiss on the cheek. [color=#00C5CD]Ya'll are too sweet. Thank you so much." She told them before letting them go. "No worries, Poppy. If you need anything else just let me know." Daniel said as he smiled towards Poppy which only made her blush even more. "Later."

"Bye guys, and thanks again." She said as she waved them off and looked back towards Giselle and the three girls; one who was reading the light blue paper while the other two grabbed themselves a blondie and a drink out of the cooler which also had little Theta Chi stickers on them. "We're going to keep looking around but, we are definitely going to rush this year! Bye Poppy." On of the girls said as the three walked away. "It was so nice meeting ya'll and your names are so I can remember you...?" She said as she hugged each one of them.

"Melody."

"Piper."

"Daisy."

"Alright guys, it was so nice meeting you. If ya'll come up with anymore questions, just come back and let us know. We'll be here." The girls nodded before walking past their table. Giselle got off her phone as the two girls leaned softly to hear what the three girls were talking about. They talked about the information they just received but, what made them both smile is when they heard the small Indian looking girl, Piper say "I know! She's so sweet."

"Yes!"

"Yes!" The two girls said in unison with one another as they high fived. The Theta's last year had a running joke; they knew when someone would pledge Theta whenever they brought up Poppy and how sweet she was. That meant they had a chance of getting them to pledge. Poppy had just found out about the joke and didn't really think anything of it. Since no one was really to the area just yet, Poppy looked at the other houses as she smiled to Naomi and then Jack and then Naomi again as she raised her eyebrows and chuckled before turning to see the other Presidents. She smiled towards all of them before turning to Giselle who started playing music from one of her several playlists that started playing Dancing on My Own by Robyn. Poppy could feel her hand hand shaking as she reached for her Theta Chi jacket that all girls received when they were inducted into the house. She slid it on as she looked towards Giselle. "Why are you lookin' at me like that?"

"You take your medicine, the shaking's getting more noticeable." Poppy just let out a sharp sigh before shaking her head as Giselle looked blankly at her. "I'll take it later, it's in my bag. I'll just take it in an hour or so." Giselle just shook her head with a smirk as she turned the serious conversation into a sarcastic one. "Andrew's not going to be pleased with this." Poppy rolled her eyes with the same bright smile on her face just in case anyone came up to their booth.

Emerson Kim is typically the reliable, hardworking one who pushes others to remember deadlines, event times, etc. If a tournament is at 8am she's there by 6:30am. This is why it makes it so strange that the young woman is asleep in her bed, her alarm clock rattling on unnoticed, while most of the other Alphas are at the fair already recruiting future pledges. It can be attributed to the fact that the young woman returned from a Lincoln Douglass-Only tournament late last night, thanks to the poorly thought out decision to get late night dinner with people afterwards. She had, certainly uncharacteristically, fallen asleep in her debate attire which consists of a now wrinkled blouse, a black blazer and black dress pants. Only her heels and socks had been taken off, and now rest in the opened drawer of her bedside table. At least no one had been woken up by her late night entrance, or so the young woman hopes. If they had, the sophomores might assume she was returning from a party, and the others would know Emerson had been away on business. Her business, anyway. Proof of that business, a silver medal hanging off of her lamp, dims the light coming off of the lamp that was never turned off.

Eventually, however, one day must turn to another, and Emerson finally opens her eyes. Not expecting to have slept in, she at first rolls over to shut off the alarm slowly, but upon seeing the time everything suddenly kicks into a higher speed. She slams the button and jumps out of bed, muttering more than a few profanities underneath her breath as she quickly jumps into the shower. On a time crunch, the already brief period of time she spends is shortened with the speed of urgency, and soon she is out and brushing her teeth. Every now and then she glances over towards the clock and berates herself for such carelessness. Just as Emerson is not one to take it easy on others, she is hard pressed to give herself a break. I was supposed to be there half an hour ago, she presses the issue. Realizing she doesn't really have time to dry her hair, Emerson twist's it into a bun that is messy, but somehow suits her" perhaps because she so often wears that messy bun. It typically is trademark of her while working on a case, and gives the impression of a businesswoman halfway through the workday: someone with more important things to worry about than immaculate hair.

She dresses, vaguely remembering the color scheme and directions Elysia had begun planning for the house, and walking down begins to wonder how everyone could have left without her realizing it. Maybe Elysia knew she had stayed out late working and told people to let the girl sleep in, god knows Em rarely does, or perhaps they had all thought she left early for a morning jog, as is her normal routine. Either way, the house is rather silent. Emerson pulls out her phone and sends Elysia a text, swearing again under her breath for her own foolishness as she grabs a ginger ale out of the house fridge and leaves the house.

To Elysia
Sorry, Slept in. Be there in a few.

Her message is brief and to the point, but such is Emerson. She prefers talking to people rather than texting, though in this situation knows Elysia is probably making conversation with someone else. Her text does not question why no one woke her up because they shouldn't have had to: and Em takes responsibility for her own mistakes, if nothing else. As she walks Em rolls up the sleeves of her lightweight blazer, which even in its thinness is warm for the summer heat. She considers taking it off, but resolves to consult Elysia when she arrives. An alpha in all other respects, Emerson is certainly one of the less well versed of the Alphas regarding fashion. She can pull of any sort of business wear perfectly, but beyond that the girl tends to need pointers in order to be more Alpha. Three years in the house have given her better intuition for it, at least.

Luckily Emerson is known for her brisk pace, and the gathering was not far away. She spots Elysia talking to Emery and walks up to them, making it a trio of E names. "Didn't hear my alarm-- imagine the rest of the house did though, sorry about that." She acknowledges Emery with a smile and a nod, as she leans slightly against Elysia for a moment before straightening. "Good morning, also. Any good prospects for Alphas and Kappas?"

It took a split second for Grace to go from being comfortably lost in dreamland to being thrust into a panic-struck reality. Not only was she severely late, but she was severely late on the first day of rush week, which meant that she was seriously screwed. Elysia had a strict schedule for the girls on days like today, where they were supposed to wake up before the sun rose to start prepping. Even being a mere five minutes late would piss Elysia off, so five hours late was simply unspeakable.

"She's going to kill me," Grace muttered a couple of times as she frantically searched his bedroom for the clothes she had worn the previous night. She was sure that the Alpha house would be empty by the time she got there, which meant that luckily, no one would catch her making her walk of shame. Still, she probably would have preferred some of them still being there. At least that would mean that she wasn't running this behind schedule, but as she caught sight of a clock again, she knew she wasn't going to be that lucky. She quickly located the shorts she had came over in last night, but whatever shirt she was wearing must have been tossed somewhere unknown as they undressed each other. There was no time to search for it and after only a few seconds worth of an attempt to locate it, she gave up and grabbed a Fulton University t-shirt from his closet. It was large enough on her frame to show that it probably belonged to a guy, but common enough on campus that there was no way it could be traced back to Kyle.

His suggestion that she leave through the window to avoid bumping into any guys quickly brought a scowl to her face. Still, she knew that it was the best - no, the only - option that she had, and she had done it enough times last semester to do it stealthily. "You're lucky that you're good in bed," she warned him, as if to suggest that it was the only reason she would put up with such treatment. In a way, it was. She wasn't going to climb out of a Sigma window for just anyone and if it wasn't for their sexual connection, they probably never would have formed any sort of friendship.

She remained in his bedroom for only a few moments after he left. She did what she could to manage to make herself look decent for the short walk to the Alpha house, and then did as directed, and slid out of his bedroom window. Almost ten minutes later, she was stepping into the Alpha house and just as she expected, it was silent. There was no time to waste, and Grace knew that. She ran upstairs and into a bathroom where she took one of the quickest showers to date. It was disrespectful to show up to the event late, but she figured that it would be even worse to show up late and disgusting looking. So, after stepping out of the shower, she blow-dried her hair, did her makeup and quickly put together an outfit to fit the Alpha colors. She was definitely late, but she tried to reassure herself that at least she looked good.

Instead of bringing a large bag, she decided on a small rose clutch that she had bought over the summer in Paris. All that she planned on keeping in it was her phone, but as she hurried out of the house, she kept it in her hand rather than in the bag. As she should have expected, she had a ton of texts from Delilah and some of the other younger Alphas asking where she was throughout the morning hours. There was also a recent one from Zoey, that Grace didn't have time to answer in the moment. She had left her phone at the house on purpose last night, but she had expected to be back by one or two in the morning, not eleven-thirty. Unfortunately for her, she had been a few minutes behind Emerson and didn't know that the senior was running late too. It would've worked to her advantage to know that she wasn't the only one showing up significantly later than expected, but even if she had that on her side, of course Elysia would favor Emerson. Not only were they best friends, but girlfriends.

It wasn't difficult to find the Alpha booth. It was the nicest and most orderly one on the lawn. Everything looked perfect and Grace expected no less from Elysia. However, she was much less focused on the decorum than she was on Elysia, who was talking with Emerson and Emery. Grace did a good job at acting calm as she approached the table, but she definitely knew that even if Elysia didn't make a big deal about it here in public, that she would pay for her absence later on. However, she saw the three being engrossed in conversation as a perfect opportunity to avoid the situation for now.

Instead of interrupting them, she slipped past the trip and found Delilah a few feet away, handing out pamphlets to passing girls. "You look cute. I told you those heels would fit you," she commented with a soft smile. Grace definitely wasn't a fabulous role model in many ways, but she really did care for Delilah. She still struggled to put the big sister role ahead of her own needs - like sneaking off to be with Kyle - but she did genuinely want Delilah to feel like she could come to her for anything.

Delilah couldn't have been any more excited for today. A year ago, she was embarking on the best journey of her life and now she got to be on the other side of that. Not only would she spending the day with her favorite people who she was just getting reacquainted with after a few months separation, but she would also be meeting new girls who would soon become her sisters. She couldn't hide her enthusiasm for the events of the week and it was obvious today, as she had been one of the first ones awake.

Like every morning, she started her day with a short jog around campus. This was followed by a quick shower, which emphasized how lucky she was to be an early riser, since the early morning hours were one of the few times when the bathrooms were actually unoccupied. She brushed her hair out but decided to let it air dry into its natural soft waves, and put on an outfit that Grace had pre-approved the night before. Although Delilah didn't expect Grace to be as anxious for the day's events as she was, she was surprised when she knocked on the girl's bedroom door and didn't get an answer. When she finally, and somewhat reluctantly opened the door and peered into the room, she was puzzled to find the bed made and seemingly untouched from the day before. If Grace had somehow woken up and gotten ready while Delilah was out on her jog or in the shower, it was certainly out of character for her, but the idea of her just never coming home last night didn't even cross her might. Maybe it was the naivety of her mindset that made it seem like an impossible scenario, or more likely, the fact that she couldn't imagine anyone having the guts to do that on a day like today. Besides, most of the time when Grace was doing something she knew was wrong, she would at least give Delilah a head's up and ask her to cover for her if Elysia or someone questioned her whereabouts.

A bout of text messages went unanswered, which worried Delilah, but she hoped that maybe Elysia had sent Grace to pick something up off campus and that everything was fine. She tried not to worry and focused on her role in the events. By six o'clock, she and many of the other sophomores were already making their way to the campus green where the Activities Fair was being held. Their hard work paid off, because hours later as the other organizations started to set up, it seemed obvious to her that the Alpha section was the most well-presented. No matter how much blood, sweat and tears went into it, she was proud to be an Alpha.

When she spotted Elysia for the first time all morning, her excitement only heightened. She simply adored the president and that was no secret to anyone else in the fraternity. Delilah was something of a teacher's pet when it came to Elysia, but she worked hard to keep it toned down to a point where she wouldn't be annoying. She wanted it to be known that she would be willing to help out in any way that she could without being overbearing. Especially when Grace was missing, Elysia was the first person she turned to for advice or even just company. This morning, she knew that Sia had more important things to do than to chat with her though, so she continued to help with the finishing touches on their tables.

She had almost lost hope for Grace showing up entirely, when the brunette seemingly appeared out of nowhere. Delilah discreetly watched as she glided past Elysia, Emerson and Emery without a word of acknowledgment to Elysia. Even from feet away, she sensed a bit of tension there, but she tried to hope that her Big was just keeping to herself because Elysia knew where she was, and she had no need to explain herself. Although she was nervous, the smile that appeared on her face when Grace approached her was genuine, as was the blush that followed the compliment of her outfit. "Thanks!" she beamed. "My heels are probably going to kill me for it tonight, but I think it's worth it for now," she giggled, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. She wasn't sure if she should comment on Grace's absences and went back and forth on it for a moment before deciding to hint at it. "I was texting you all morning! Did your phone die or something? The girls and I were getting worried."

Andrew was already awake when he Emery used the intercom to wake everyone up. He was always a heavy sleeper but since he went to bed at a fairly early hour the previous night, he had no problem waking up at seven this morning. In an effort to get back into his school-year routine, he started his day off with a freshly brewed cup of black coffee and stopped by the campus cafe for a chocolate chip muffin. Upon his return to the Kappa house, he took a brisk cold shower and dressed in a simple navy polo, khaki shorts and Sperry boat shoes. Although he wasn't into dressing flashy for such a casual event, he also didn't want to look like he was ready to head to the beach. The Kappa Alpha house may not have been as image-obsessed as the Beta fraternity, but they had pride in the way they presented themselves too.

When it was time to start setting up their booth, Andrew chose to help carry the drink coolers. His parents had sponsored the beverages, which even he was surprised about. The relationship he had with them was nearly nonexistent. When he returned home from school breaks, he was essentially ignored by the pair and just as he was during the school year, by his sister Grace as well. This summer had been slightly different though, since his parents were nearly convinced that Poppy was his girlfriend, which meant that he had finally "gotten past his gay phase" and was going to settle down with a pretty, smart girl. He didn't bother correcting them, because he honestly appreciated being treated decently for once. Plus, his parents spent most of the summer travelling so he didn't even bump into them at their Hamptons summer home more than a couple of times over the two months. They had already given him the money for the Activities Fair event by the time that Grace informed them that Poppy was nothing more than a friend to him, and their relationship fell back to being rocky at best.

As students began to populate the courtyard, Andrew assumed that it was probably nearing 11:30. Emery headed off to check out the neighboring stations so Andrew took a seat in front of their table and greeted any passerby's. He was enjoying getting to know some of the freshman but was also anxious to reunite with some friends too. After finishing a conversation with a freshman, he stood up and nodded to Marcus, the Kappa standing closest to him. "I'm going to go check everything out. Be back in a little," he explained before heading off. Their booth was situated next to the Alpha's. Although he hadn't had a chance to talk to Elysia since returning to Fulton, he saw conversing with Emery and Emerson and just gave a passing wave as he headed past them. He continued past the Beta booth and then stopped in front of the Theta Chi section. He caught a glimpse of his sister hurrying past him, but as if they were strangers, neither acknowledged the other. It still brought a knot to his stomach but he was used to the way they interacted by now. He didn't expect anything more from her.

When he stepped closer to the Theta booth, he found Poppy chatting with Naomi and a boy who he assumed to be a freshman. "Good morning, sunshine," he smiled at Poppy as he stepped past Naomi and the boy and towards Poppy. He greeted Lianne and Giselle before turning back to Poppy and nudging her shoulder. "Who's the boy?" he quietly inquired. Although he had missed whatever Alexandri had said to Naomi, he could tell that something was going on between the two. Why would he be standing a Theta booth without good reason, anyway?

Longboard

Grunting because the light from the window successfully made it passed her dark magenta curtains, Amelia awoke to the familiar sound of her phone vibrating on a hard surface. Tossing herself over Amelia slowly ran her fingers through her velvet red hair, her eyes closed still basking in the comfort of her bed. "Mmm." after a few minutes of enjoying the plushness of her bed the dancer stretched out and yawned. The covers were halfway falling off the bed exposing her barely clothed body. All she wore to bed, all she ever wore to bed was either a tank top or T-shirt accompanied by underwear and last night was no exception, her sleeping attire consisted of a grey Harry Potter tank top that had the deathly hallows on it along with a pair of rather sexy looking panties.

Lazily stretching out her arm Amy managed to snatch her phone up without knocking it down since she was to lazy to turn her whole body leading to her not looking where her hand was searching. Upon unlocking it she was greeted with a rather cute picture of her brother holding his new King Corso pup. At the bottom of the picture text was a message.

From: Hyung
μ–Έλ‹ˆ μ•Ό ! λ‚˜λŠ” λ§ˆμΉ¨λ‚΄ κ·Έμ—κ²Œ 이름을 ν•¨κ»˜ν–ˆλ‹€ . 그것은 마끼 의 .
(Hey unnie! I finally came up with a name for him. It's Makki.)

Amelia smiled at the text from her brother, Makii was a cute name it meant the youngest one and Makii was the youngest pup out of his litter.

To: Hyung
이 ν˜•μ€ κ·Έ κ·€μ—¬μš΄ μ΄λ¦„μž…λ‹ˆλ‹€! λ‚œ 당신이 주어진 λ‹Ήμ‹ μ˜ μ• μ™„ 동물 같은 κ·€μ—¬μš΄ μ΄λ¦„μžˆλŠ” 쀄 λͺ°λžμ–΄! λ‘€
(Hyung, that's a cute name! I didn't know you were capable of given your pet such a cute name! Lol)

With that sent the dancer sat up in bed and yawned once more before getting her pretty butt out of bed. She shuffled her feet to the bathroom and went through her daily morning routine. Once finished she looked at the time as it read 9:00am. With a big smile on her face and the towel still wrapped around her from her shower, Amelia all but jumped into her outfit, grabbed her long board and was out of her room. She greeted her other sorority sister with her little regular spin and a snap of the fingers, they giggled though as they always do when she did that and the bright smile on Amy's face was all the same, bright and energetic. Amelia thought that she'd go down to the schools dance studio and get a warm up this morning before the events started and when she was this hyped up there was no stopping her. Even her sorority sister knew when she was in good mood and that little spin was what proved them right.

Placing her board on the ground, the dancer flipped through her phones playlist for a second before selecting a song, her favorite song she'd play when she was really excited or just feeling really good. She couldn't wait for the events to start and to recruit new people, plus she was all about making new friends. Getting onto her board, Amy kicked off and smoothly skated down the cement path. She had to restrain herself from dancing to the song, her legs anyway because from the torso up she was going at it.

"I don't wanna be without you girl! Got me slowly dying. Where did we go wrong my girl? Why can't we keep on trying? I don't wanna be without you girl! I gave my heart to you. Going outta my mind, cause I love you, I need you girl!" she sung the lines and backups, she sang absolutely everything.

The dancer skated, no cruised smoothly to the dance studio just singing and dancing with such passion yet fun. Once there she picked up her board and entered the building, finding it busy she frowned a bit but it faded fast. She wanted to share her excitement with someone so secretly she was hoping someone was here so she could dance with. Amelia spent no time plugging in her ipod and setting her things down but as soon as she did the dancer heard people outside the studio. The door opened and three of her dance partners walked through. This is a fracking miracle! she thought as she ran over to them practically tackling the first girl that walked in, Jessica. The names of the others were Minah and Alex but everyone called her Mini. These three were Amelia's best girls she has ever worked with and good friends.

"Hey guys I missed you, wanna dance!?" Amy was speaking fast like she did when she got too excited and her Korean accent was present, it always was when she talked really fast like that. They all agreed and laughed, Jessica patting Amy playfully on the head telling her how cute she got when she got all excited like that. Amy smiled much like a child would, with a bright smile and pecked the girls cheek. " Now let's get to work then!" shouted out Minah who looked just as energetic as Amy now. With a nod Amy got into position with the other girls, the music began to play and they began to dance.

The dancing just stopped after practicing it more than 10 times. They finally got it down and Amy laid on the floor a bit exhausted but still ready to do more. She had all but lost track of time and when the clock read 10:30 Amy decided to wrap up the practice there. The dancer had gotten good exorcise out of that was ready to take a quick shower and head down to the booth with her other sorority sisters. After bidding her girls goodbye she cruised back to the sorority house, took a shower and ate something. Sometimes Amelia had this habit where she wouldn't eat in the morning, it's not that she was starving herself it was more like she would forget because she would't feel really hungry. While getting dressed she ate a granola bar at the same time and when she needed both hands she would bite the granola bar and hold it there.

After she successfully got dressed and devoured that granola bar Amy packed her backpack with a variety of snacks. Opening her dresser she pulled out her feather bracelet and slipped it on then grabbed her beach ankle bracelet and put that on too. As she was checking herself out in the mirror her phone vibrated in her pocket and she took it out unlocking it and checking the message.

From: Naomi
Omw 2 the booth. 1 of u better b there

With a smile Amelia began to write back. Her fingers moved swiftly over the letters and in 10 seconds her message was done and sent.

To: Naomi
Aye, aye captain! On my way!

Grabbing her board, Amy was out the door again but this time she wasn't wearing any shoes, instead her shoes were in her backpack along with her socks. She thought that she'd go with no shoes on something she loved to do. Instantly when she got outside the campus was crawling with students, it was funny how a measly two hours can change everything. Amelia thought it wise to play her song before she began to ride because she wasn't about to flip through her phone and navigate through all these people, she was sure to fall. Once her song was played on loop the girl began her little trip down to the booth. Her feet were steady on the board but above her hips were a whole different story. She was working her body to the song and that half tank top and short shorts made it hard for boys to pay attention to where they were walking. Upon passing a group of boys she winked at them then sent one of her charming but sexy smiles towards them. Even though she was gay that didn't stop her from flirting with both genders especially the boys. The two girls that were staring at her though rather intensely from a booth, the Alpha Theta Pi's booth to be exact were greeted with a kiss blown to them.

They were dressed to impress of course, like always a rather good quality of theirs. In fact Amelia stopped in front of the two, they were girls she hung out at parties before maybe made out with once or twice. She wrapped her arm around the shorter one.

"Why hello there."

Her conversation with the girls was short, sweet and flirty. They told her to try one of their brownies and she humbly took it whispering a thanks to the girls ear that made her shiver. Satisfied with her teasing the asian took a bite out of the brownie and smiled that oh so vibrant childish smile of hers. "Damn, these are pretty good. Thanks for the sweets hun." and with that she crossed the concrete path to the Zeta's booth on her board but not without tipping her hat to Elysia with her friends right beside her. " Damn good job on the brownies, beautiful." her praise was joined by a smirk, a rather seductive one even though she didn't mean for it to come out like that. Maybe it was directed to Emerson? Whatever it didn't matter now, what is done is done and now she has a brownie so she was happy but when she saw the Zeta's booth her heart skipped a beat. Look at all this food and sweets.

Setting her board behind the booth, on the grassy part Amy walked up to Zoey and smiled. "Morning!" she said with a smile as she reached passed Zoey to grab a cupcake and began licking some of the frosting off of it. "Mmm, so whats up Zoe?"

Grace knew that she was going to have to explain herself at some point, and doing so to Delilah was definitely going to be easier than to Elysia. "Oh, don't worry about it. I was up late talking to my parents on the phone and I didn't want to keep anyone up, so I just stayed with Zoey." It seemed like a decent excuse. Only a few people knew of the Drexler family tension involving Andrew, but Delilah was one of them. Although Grace knew that Elysia was close enough with Andrew to actually have the guts to ask him herself if Grace was lying, Delilah wasn't, and the excuse would at least suffice for now.

She looked back towards Elysia, still contemplating whether it would be less painful to just confront the situation now, or let Elysia do it when she wanted to. She decided to put it off for at least a little while longer. Even though she hadn't been acknowledged scooting past the three, she was sure that Elysia had seen her and it seemed better to at least wait until she finished speaking with Emerson and Emery to explain herself. "Why? Is she pissed?" she asked in a purposely calm and careless tone, but obviously referring to Elysia. Grace was good at acting like she didn't care because when it came to confrontations with most people, she really didn't care. She was used to being catty and viscous and rarely feared having to explain herself to anyone but Elysia was certainly one of the people who didn't fall into that category. She was quite possibly the only person that Grace knew her place around, actually.

Her eyes wandered to the booth on the opposite side of the way from them, where she heard loud music playing. She grimaced at the sight of Amelia Park, one of the Zeta sophomores, attempting to coax Zoey into dancing with her. That girl is beyond tacky, she thought, shaking her head in disgust as the girl basically begged for attention by making such a scene. When Naomi joined in and pulled others in with her, it only became more of an eyesore. Typical Zetas. I don't know how the hell Zoey deals with being around that trash all day. Had she caught some of the other Alphas allowing her to hang all over them moments earlier, she certainly would have shut that down. It had nothing to do with homophobia (although some might argue that Grace's relationship with Andrew at least borderlined it) as much as it did with the PDA being a poor representation of the Alpha house.

Zoey was full of giggles at the sight of Amy and Naomi up there dancing but not because they were making fools out of themselves. The pair were talented enough that they didn't look as silly as some of the others that came up to dance with them, but it was still an entertaining sight. She was still laughing when Amelia pointed towards her and directed her to come dance with them. Although Zoey was usually the first person dancing at parties, her one Jello shot had done virtually nothing to get her intoxicated. She wasn't self-conscious to the point where she would care if people saw her dancing, but she was still more ready to crawl into bed than to let loose.

Her attention shifted from the scene in front of her back towards the Sigma booth. As she had left Sam minutes before, she passed Kyle and a freshman that Zoey had met briefly a few days earlier. The way that she was clinging to the Sigma hadn't sat well with her, for no good reason at all, and Zoey knew that. She had hooked up with Kyle years ago and once she started dating Sam, they left any sexual feelings they had for each other in the past. Kyle had probably hooked up with numerous girls since then and it had never bothered her, so why was it now? She forced the thoughts out of her mind and tried to justify them as a result of just being annoyed with Sam this morning.

As she focused on the Zetas who were now finishing up, her smile returned. Amelia dramatically collapsed under a nearby tree, probably appreciating the bit of heat relief that the shade offered and Naomi went straight from the Jello shots. She happened to choose one that Zoey had splashed with vodka and quickly noticed. "I have no idea what you're talking about!" she replied, although her grin spoke otherwise. "Did you see Emery while you were out earlier? I need to ask him about our work schedule this week," she asked, mostly out of boredom. She tilted her head back as Amelia jumped up and headed towards the Theta booth, before returning her head back towards Naomi. It's so hot today. I say we squeeze 'hour at the beach' onto our list of Zeta duties for today," she suggested with a smile. Naomi was President, which meant that a lot of the responsibility for Zeta events fell on her shoulders, but as her best friend and a senior Zeta, Zoey knew she had to be involved as much as needed too. Being a Zeta meant that fun and sorority responsibilities almost always overlapped though, which was definitely helpful in that.

Naomi grinned back at Zoey, shaking her head with amusement. While anyone else would have been upset since the Jell-O-shots were supposed to be minor-friendly for the sake of the school, leave it to Zoey to just say, "fuck it." And Naomi, despite how moral or how much of a good girl she could be, just loved being bad and could only be grateful. "Have I told you much I love you lately?" She exclaimed, waving to a few freshmen from orientation week. Her eyes fell on Karma and Kyle, who weren't that far away and Naomi quirked an eyebrow. She glanced from Karma to Kyle, and then back to Karma again with a questioning smirk. She even almost missed Zoey's questions with her curiosity, but glanced back to her best friend once it clicked in her head.

"Actually, that sounds like a great idea. We have an hour before the jamboree and no one's doing anything. I'll put it in a mass text," she said and pulled out her phone before considering. As much as she knew that some of her friends hung out with people she didn't really talk to, why not invite everyone she liked? Everyone could chill out and if they didn't like each other, they could always just not show up. It wasn't going to kill her. Besides, it was hot and she wanted the col water of the ocean on her skin. Not to mention to wear the new bikini she had bought with her mother's new boytoy's money. "Emery? Hmm...I think he was at the Alpha table, not really sure." The placement this year definitely put certain houses by people they normally wouldn't be associated with. Maybe it was the school's new way of creating relationships, she surmised while typing out her message, hoping she didn't forget anyone.

To: Bennett, Sam, Miles, Sierra, Amy, Poppy, Giselle, Daniel, Emery
Idk what y'all plan 2 do, but Zetas r hittin up da beach b4 da jamboree. Any1's invited.

Biting her lower lip softly, Naomi glanced over at the Beta table before shaking her head. She really needed to stop doing this. She was making herself obvious the more she looked in his direction. However, she also couldn't help it and decided to interact with people as a distraction, but not before sending one more text.

To: Jack
Didn't think I'd invite ur guys 2 da beach w/out u. Didn't want u 2 be lonely, Reynolds. Don't ever say I didn't do anything 4 u

Her first target was Karma, who hadn't drifted off yet and who Naomi was more than happy to greet. Side-stepping a few people who were in line for either Beta or Zeta foods, Naomi made her way to the blonde, smiling widely. "Hey, gorgeous. You look great!" She exclaimed and nodded to Kyle with the smile still present. "Hey, Kyle." Naomi turned back to Karma then. "See any booths you liked yet? Ooh, and what are you both doing after this? The Zetas and a few other people are hitting up the beach before the jamboree." She stated, including Kyle in the end. After all, who the hell didn't like the beach?

"Don't sneak up on me like that!" Elysia said when Emery frightened her. He laughed a little under his breath and backed away, hands in the air in mock fear. "Woah there tiger, bring it down a little," he replied. Of course Emery knew that is was awkward between the two of them. But he wanted things to be as normal as they could. He had always been pretty good at easing tension, and this wasn't going to be different on his watch. "Sorry, Em." Emery nodded to her, and the Alpha began to list of all the treats they were giving away. Everything looked good, and that was most likely all Elysia's doing. She used to cook for Emery back when they were a "thing", but it'd been awhile. If there was one thing he missed the most about her, it was her cooking. She had natural talent in that category.

"I'll take a strawberry. This all looks great. Props to you and your girls." There was a two-second awkward silence. He could tell she was jittery, not her usual self. Whether it was all the activities happening around them, or just talking to Emery himself, it didn't really matter. "Long time, no see. No texts, no calls. What's up?"

"I'm sorry about... Being distant. This isn't really a situation I know how to handle. It's not like there's a handbook..." Elysia said. Emery wasn't totally serious, but sometimes when he was joking, people didn't take it like a joke. He had a hard time being sarcastic, and he guessed that it was one of those times. "Listen, Lys. I'm not actually mad at you. I just thought we would have more communication, for lack of a better term, over summer break. But maybe next time." He was about to walk away when she said, "We could hang out later... If you want."

He nodded. "Sure. Let's hang out. Catch me before the party tonight and we'll chill." He turned and walked back toward his own booth. It was obvious that there was nothing between Emery and Elysia anymore. She had a girlfriend, and, frankly, he just couldn't see them being together as a couple anymore. Nothing would happen if they hung out for a few hours. He ran into Andrew on the way back to the Kappa booth. "Hey man. How are things going?"

Poppy and Giselle's relationship always entertained Andrew. He got a kick out of how intuitive Giselle could be to Poppy's needs and how she was the only one out of the three who wanted to admit that there was more to his relationship with Poppy than just "best friends". Being used to it didn't stop him from taking on a slight blush too, when the brunette referred to Poppy as his girlfriend though. Her ability to call people out and embarrass them seemed to rival Alpha level, not the typical innocent and harmless image that Theta's typically got. Even though it was often directed at his situation with Poppy, he appreciated her wit.

"That girl is going to turn your house upside down next year," he joked once he and Poppy had left the Theta booth. His eyes lingered on her face for a few seconds, before being quickly redirected when he almost bumped right into a group of freshman girls walking away from the Alpha booth with decadent looking deserts in hand. If Elysia's table was anything like it had been last year, Andrew was sure she was going to have the same over the top cake she had displayed the year before. He had managed to snag a slice from one of the senior Kappa's who was friends with the Alpha president and even now, a year later, he still couldn't forget how delicious the cake had been. His sweet tooth wanted him to check out the table for himself but knowing Grace was there was enough for him to want to steer clear. He didn't need to deal with awkward and unnecessary tension this early in the day, and besides, the Alpha booth was her home turf. It didn't seem necessary to go looking for trouble, even if he did want to see Elysia anyway.

"I'm not in the seafood mood, so I'm going to see if I can grab a burger from the Betas. Now, we can get you something from their booth, or we can get something from mine, but either way, you're eating something." Again, he did his best to sound serious, but it was hard with such a beautiful girl standing next to him. As they approached a larger crowd in front of the Alpha booth, he instinctively took her hand in his so they couldn't be separated while moving through the mass of people. When Emery appeared on the other side of the group, he didn't think enough to let go of her hand as his thoughts shifted to the Kappa booth. "Hey man, things should be good back at the booth. Arty's got the whole Kappa spiel down pat and the others were grilling and handing out fliers when I left." The Kappa table was only a few feet away now, and luckily, everything did look to be pretty calm. "Little Miss Sunshine here needs to eat something, but I'll be over in a few to help out," he offered, playfully nudging Pop, although he knew that there was no dire need for him over there. The Kappa guys were always responsible and diligent when it came to events like this and Andrew was sure that even the sophomores alone could handle the day. However, Andrew was interested in meeting the freshman potentials too. He would be spending the next two years with whoever decide to pledge Alpha, afterall.

Antonio was busy inspecting his camera and taking a few random photographs when he heard Jack call for him. There was no hesitance, not even a tiny bit, as he snapped to attention. His head came up and he immediately jogged over, giving and up-nod in a silent What's up as he looked around, snapping a few more pictures. A smile came across his face at Jack's request and that smile soon became a smirk. β€œYou got it, SeΓ±or Presidente,” he laughed. He wasn't really surprised that Jack had asked for Grace, but Antonio had noticed that she and Emerson were the only ones missing from the earlier photograph. Still, being sent to go talk to Elysia gave him a chance to flirt with her and the other girls from Alpha as well as gorge on the sweets that were brought. He turned away from Jack and was headed right back to the Alpha booth, overhearing the older guy call for a few of their brothers to enter the trade-off.

He saw that Emerson had joined Elysia and Emery was part of the group as well. He rolled his eyes at the sight of Emerson, knowing that a glare was on its way. No fucks were given as he interrupted, not bothering to apologize either. β€œHey, Sia! Jack wants Grace, Natalie, and Julie over at the booth. He's sending Hunter, Bas, Dan, and Charlie.” He went silent a moment as Emery was the first to leave, looking between he and Elysia before shaking his head and smiling at Elysia. She snapped back to attention and smiled as she noticed Emerson and Antonio had joined after Emery had taken his strawberry and left, confirming that he'd enjoy hanging out later. This made her smile and nod before turning her attention back to Antonio and Emerson.

She took a few moments to register everything, noticing that Grace had arrived. Finally. Seeing Grace reminded her that Antonio had asked something, causing her to shake her head, a habit she hard formed while bringing herself down from her thoughts. β€œNo. Grace and Natalie are... Grounded. Julie can go. Also, take Diana, and Jemma and Cassidy.” She spoke loudly so that the other Alphas could hear her, motioning for the mentioned girls at the same time.

ImageThey all put on smiles and headed towards the Beta booth, immediately putting on their game faces by flirting with every male that came by, whether they were rushers or current members. Elysia immediately shooed Antonio away and pulled out her phone, texting back to Karma while she spoke to Emerson, ignoring her girlfriend's text since she was already right there. β€œYeah, Karmilla has entranced a few for us,” she said as she nodded towards the junior who was speaking excitedly to four girls that crowded around her with bright eyes and big smiles. Elysia gave a soft smile, kissing Emerson on her cheek.

β€œYou had a big debate last night – Don't worry about it.” She turned and spotted Alexandri speaking to Naomi, her brow lifting some. As he apologized to her, Elysia could only smirk before putting two fingers into her mouth, issuing a high pitched whistle and pointing at Jack, motioning for him to come over and then to Karma. She issued Amelia a wink and a smirk at the compliment of the food before continuing over to the front of the booth, scanning the crowd of girls that were coming over. The cake had already been cut into and the cake pops were nearly gone. Antonio had busied himself with taking photographs.

β€œPrecioso! Now, big smiles... Say Alpha!,” he encouraged as the Alphas and rushers smushed together happily for a photograph, giggles bubbling up from them. Once the photo had been taken, he checked out the image before his vision went dark. His lips twitched into a smile as one voice rose above the others. Gripping the camera, he maneuvered himself so that he was behind Paige now, wrapping an arm around her waist with a laugh. β€œBuenas tardes, mi belleza,” he purred in her ear with a thick accent. He chuckled softly and kissed the side of her head firmly before releasing her. β€œYou know, you could get in trouble talking to me in public like this,” he teased, his fingers digging gently into her ribs as he tickled her.

Elysia rolled her eyes softly at the encounter before her gaze fell upon Amelia and her dancing. She was more than familiar with the choreography, the sight of it causing her to smile some as she stood with arms crossed. The attention the young dancer gave her elicited a blown kiss before she turned to get down to business. β€œNatalie and Grace, you two are on refreshments duty – Offer something to everyone. If they have questions about the chapter, send them to Delilah, Emerson, or literally anyone else.”

Her words caused the other girls to stop a moment. There was no malice or even a hint of anger in her voice but most of them had been around long enough to tell when she was displeased with someone. She ignored them and made a shooing motion with her hands before addressing the others. β€œThis is my last year and I intend to leave you guys with the very best. We've seen a lot of potentials so far but we can always do better. We've got some Betas coming over to draw some eyes, so you know what to do.” She ushered everyone back into action, putting on a smile as she waited for Jack, linking arms with Emerson. β€œIt's our last year – Let's make it the best.”

Poppy handed a paper to a tall girl, almost as tall as her who had asked for one. She smiled and pointed her towards the booth before turning back to Andy as he spoke. "That girl is going to turn your house upside down next year," She nudged him softly as she chuckled and shook her head. "Stop, she'll learn to reign it back a bit. She's just a little... straightforward. But, I know she'll make a perfect president. I mean, she's everything a president should be; smart, caring, popular, loyal, and her being one of the most gorgeous girls on campus doesn't hurt either." She joked before continuing. "And, if she goes to far, at least you'll be here." Seeing the gaggle of girls walking from the opposite direction, Poppy grabbed on the Andy's arm and pulled him out of the way before he ran into them. She let go of his arm before speaking. "Now Andrew, I don't know how many times I've told ya this. But, pay attention." She poked his forehead before laughing.

"I'm not in the seafood mood, so I'm going to see if I can grab a burger from the Betas. Now, we can get you something from their booth, or we can get something from mine, but either way, you're eating something." She sighed before she looked to the sky and groaned. "I told you, I'm fine. Now stop mothering me, that Ellie's job." She smirked as the walked towards the large crowd in front of the Alpha table. And all of a sudden, she looked back towards the Theta to see it busy but, not as busy as the Alphas or Zetas. People always told her she should stop comparing herself and her house to the others but, she couldn't help it. She was the President this year and if they don't make a record number of pledges like she planned, she was going to feel awful about it. And then there was the thought that maybe, the president from last year, Finn made a mistake leaving Theta Chi into the hands of Poppy and should have given it to Poppy's roommate and fellow senior, Emilia. She was popular and sweet, funny and beautiful and well, most of the things Poppy thought she, herself lacked in. Emmy had. No matter how many times people thought she was crazy, the doubt was always there. But, for the moment all those thoughts went away when she looked away from the Thetas' table and looked down Andrew intertwining his hand with hers.

She bit back a smile and tried her best to hide the blush forming on her face. And it didn't help that they were getting pushed closer and closer to one another from people bumping into them as they walked through the crowd. When they finally made it to the other side of the group, Poppy took a deep breath before breathing out. "God, I hate crowds." She stated before clearing her throat and looked back towards Andy who had stopped walking when he saw Emery. She offered him a smile as she just listened to Andy talk to him about their table. Poppy felt her phone vibrate in the pocket of her Theta jacket before raising an eyebrow. She put the fliers in her bag as she reached into her pocket to see a text from Naomi. She smiled as she opened it and text her right back.

To : Naomi

Count me and Ellie in! :)

Poppy sent the message before slipping her phone back in her pocket and grabbing the fliers back out of her bag. Right when she zipped her bag back up, she heard Andy's nickname for her and looked back towards her best friend and other close friend. "Little Miss Sunshine here needs to eat something, but I'll be over in a few to help out," She just smirked as he nudged her, before rolling her eyes and shaking her head. "Whatever, I don't need to eat anything. You're just making me." She corrected him. "But, I'm kind of in the mood for some seafood and then I'm going head back to the Thetas, okay? But, meet me after the fair because you're going to the beach with me and the Thetas before the jamboree." She poked him in the chest with a smile on her face as she looked up at him before letting go of his hand and walking towards the Kappa table where Arty was smiling over at the pair. Oh, here we go."

She watched as Popdrew walked off with one another before turning towards Kellin who had started talking to her. "Thanks Giselle, I really don't get how you do all this hair stuff. I can dye it, wash it and brush it that's about it," She tilted her head with a cocky smile on her face before speaking. "What can I say. I'm gifted in more ways than one." Giselle lost her smile for a second as Amelia walked up to the table and crouched down next to Kellin but, the second she saw the Asian girl kiss the Theta she just smirked before seeing Paige come over. Late, of course. Giselle was the one that hated tardiness, not Poppy. The whole, be there by a certain time or else, was all her. Poppy was too free wheeling, hell she was on the verge of being a pushover and Ellie would be damned before letting anyone push her best friend, the girl who was pretty much her sister around.

"Pops is going to kill me if she finds out how late I was. But I totally slept in, I swear. How are things going?" Giselle scoffed as she shook her head softly before looking over to Paige aka Poppy's little 'prodigy'. Even though, Giselle knew no one would ever take her place in Poppy's heart, she hated that she was getting so damn close to Paige. Stating how she was already 'President material'. "Oh please, I set the time to be here. Not Pops and even if she did set it, she's as vicious and mean as a... I don't know, a poodle. She wouldn't do anything."

She turned her attention towards a group of girls who had just walked up. "Hello. What can I help you lovely ladies with?" She saw the leading one lose her smiling as she started to stutter. "Wa--Wait, this is the Theta Chi table, r-right? You're a Theta?" Giselle slowly nodded as she tried hard not to roll her eyes towards the group, she promised Poppy she would work on her bitchiness and do whatever it took to hide it away whenever she was around pledges. Right when she answer, she let one ear go into Kellin and Paige conversation only to hear that Paige was going to leave to go see her little boytoy/boyfriend/whatever the hell he was to her, Tony. She smirked like the Chesire Cat before answering the girls in front of her.

"Yea...? I'm a Theta." She turned her eyes towards the others in her group of five who all seemed pretty surprised. She was used to it, to be honest most people thought that because she looked like... well, a bitch that she was a--.. "I could have swore you were one of those Alphas over there!" Oh, there was the comment that automatically made Giselle stop caring about anything the blonde said until she walked away. She hated when people said that because to her, it seemed like they were calling her a manipulative, conniving, pampered bitch. Which, in all honesty she was but she didn't need people pointing that out especially people who had no idea what she was like. "Well, I'm not. So, do you have any questions about Theta Chi or were you just looking around?" The blonde and her little followers just shook the head as they started looking at the fliers about Theta. "Well, alright then. If you get any questions, let me know. Help yourself to anything on the table or in the cooler." The girls thanked her as she fixed the goods in the basket before removing a now empty on from the table and put it with the other five filled ones she put under the table to keep them out of the Miami sun.

As Poppy walked over to the table, Marcus couldn't help but get a smirk on his face. She didn't even get the chance to defend herself on the whole, holding Andrew's hand before her friend asked about it. "Is Popdrew finally a thing?" Poppy rolled her eyes. "Popdrew is the best thing you guys could come up with? Really? And, we're just friends." Marcus looked at her blankly as she reached for a drink and tried to undo the cap. "What?" Marcus just shook his head as he grabbed the bottle and undid the tight top for her before handing back to her. "Maybe if you didn't have a weird name like Poppy. And, Friends don't go home to meet the parents."

"First off, my name is not that weird. And two, I didn't go home to meet his parents, we wanted to travel and I've never been to New York. Plus, it was the only place I could really afford to go right now." She shrugged as her close friend looked at her. "Poppy, you like him. He likes you, and he wasn't just holding your hand. Your hands were like intertwined with each others." He pointed out as he intertwined both of his hands to show how the pair looked when they were holding hands. "He just didn't want to lose a hold of me. Now, can you get me something to eat or do I have to go to the Betas?" Marcus rolled his eyes as he told one of the guys, Samuel to grill up some shrimp. "Thank you." Poppy said with a smug smile only to receive a napkin to the face from Marcus. "That, by the way is the cutest thing I have ever heard."

"Thank you...?" Poppy asked with a raised eyebrow as she sipped her Diet Coke. "No not the thank you, the whole 'He just didn't want to lose a hold of me.' That's what was cute. And, you know you liked holding his hand, face it." Marcus mused with a smirk only to finally get a true smile on Poppy's babydoll face. "See, there's the embarrassed smile I love seeing." She quickly lost it as she moved out of the way of the crowd and at the right end of the table to wait for her food. Poppy watched Marcus' hazel eyes go from her to Andrew to Emery all before going back to Poppy. Poppy hit his arm before mouthing the word 'stop', just in case Emery and Andrew thought that the pair were talking about the two of them. Which of course, they were but they didn't need to know that. If there were two people who loved to mess with Poppy about her 'more than just a crush' crush on Andy it was Marcus and Giselle. The two that, no matter what found out everything when it came to their sweet little Southern Belle. "Here you go, man." Samuel said as he looked towards Poppy and smiled before winking and going back to the grill. "And, here you are Sunshine. Grilled shrimp, just like you like it." Marcus said in his best Southern accent, trying to hide his somewhat, surfer sounding one. Poppy grabbed the plate as she smiled. "Thank you, my dear sir. And by the way, hon. Your accent? Needs a loottt of work." As she began to walk away from the Kappa table.

"Wow, that's a bullshit tip for a meal. Can't I get a hug or something." Marcus asked with a smirk as he stepped out from behind the table as Poppy turned back around and walked over to give him a hug. He squatted down a bit and pointed to his cheek. The blonde groaned in fake annoyance before kissing his cheek softly and nudging his arm to get out of his grip. "There, now stop complaining Marcus. And get back to work, youngin." Poppy said as she walked backwards still looking towards her friend. Marcus just chuckled as he looked at the people coming to their table, as if she wasn't even talking. But, there was a smartass smile on his face as he listened to her. Okay, Pops. Love you too." Marcus said as he looked towards her before turning back to the group to hand them their food. Out of the corner eye he saw Poppy looking towards Andrew before looking back at the ground and he couldn't help but shake his head and let out a short chuckle.
