Eventually, the group catches up to Jagger and Peacock...who are both restrained in the air by magic gold shackles!

"Rrgghhh...! What is this?!" Jagger exclaimed, trying to wriggle free (to no avail).

"They're completely restrained!" Twilight said in shock. "But what could have - ?"

"I-I got an idea...!" Zenmei said, pointing to the most probable source.

Floating high in the air is an eight-foot-tall armored horse of gold, with narrow blade-like legs. Its wings spread far apart, their ethereal energy scattering.

Peacock was alert to Dr. Y readying his gun. "Wait, don't - !"

Before she could warn the man, the horse creature cast a glow from its blue eyes, locking up the trigger.

"...That's what it did to me..."

"I...I have no idea what it is...!" Zenmei replied to Heavy. "But it sure looks powerful...!"

Dr. Y opens fire on the horse... or would, if anything but "click" came out of the shotgun.

"What the-" asked Dr. Y.

The doctor's shotgun is enchanted so that it never runs out of ammo... but other than that it's a normal shotgun, and it still needs to not be jammed to fire.

"Great," said Dr. Y, tossing the shotgun to the ground. "So much for the easy way."

By the guardian's eye glow, Steve's bazooka also locks up, as does Heavy's gun.

"Foolish nag of gaudy plating!" Fawful shouts. "Prepare to be peppered with my laser paprika of DOOM!" But of course, his phaser also locks up.

"One more...!" Zenmei charges with Rekinen in hand...but instead gets held back by some mysterious force. In fact, all eleven are lifted into the air by the guardian's magic, restricted in place.

Reckless. You will not claim the key I hold with this behavior.

"Y-You got it all wrong...!" Jagger struggled to say. "We were brought here by those keys - "

And you are wasting my time.

"Then what is it...that you want...?!" Twilight retorted.

Spreading his wings, the guardian cast out a pulse that flung everyone back and down onto the ground.

Think on that yourself. I, Ortus of the Order, will decide if you should return to the planet.

With that, the guardian Ortus vanished into thin air.

"Great...that Ortus is sending us on a wild goose chase..." Zenmei groaned, pulling his (literally) broken left arm together.

High above Galinia, a silver streak soars through the vacuum of space. But this is no shooting star, nor any similar phenomenon: this is the Silver Surfer!

Norrin Radd considers the whispers he had been hearing, even out in the farthest reaches of space. Events were apparently transpiring on Unitas, events that could have catastrophic results for the entire universe. Curious, he had decided to return to this world, to see what was occurring--and if he could help to stop it in any way. It seems that evil would never let go of its grip upon this beautiful world...

And that's when the Surfer notices a golden figure on Galinia's surface. Curious, he flies down towards the figure.
