He has brown eyes and dark hair and is built for combat, but he also bears the appearance of being well-fed and little sign of sickness or injury. In short, he looks like a serious young noble.

Lelinus is skilled with a longsword and shield and is able to ride well and lead his soldiers in battle, but he is most talented outside of battle. He has a keen mind for strategy, politics, and diplomacy and is good at arranging instances of espionage, sabotage, blackmail, and even assassination. His voice is strong at Court and he knows how to phrase an issue in many ways and find common cause with potential allies.

Personality:
Lelinus can be stubborn, cynical, and somewhat cold at times, but he is also loyal to those he calls friend, his people, and does not shirk his duty. He believes that he is usually right about just about everything. He does not look down on the peasants he rules, but he expects them to obey him. He is schooled in court and politics and rather enjoys them, though he is not interested in them beyond securing his goals and protecting Renova. He may be knowledgeable in gossip, but he doesn't enjoy it.
Lelinus knows that he is good-looking and at times, he uses it to his advantage, but truthfully, he is not interested in most of the women who flirt with him. Despite being somewhat gloomy and cynical, he desires true love, the type that is only told of in song. He is also somewhat sarcastic and darkly humorous and, though versed in court etiquette, he will ignore it if he can.
Religion:
He is devout in his own way and attends religious services weekly and prays at least once a day. This is not to say he defers to clerics or monks. He prefers to make his own decisions and judgments. He is not cruel and can be merciful, but he won't spare someone he deems irredeemable or a threat to a large amount of people. As for some morally questionable actions he must take, he reasons that God understands.

History:
Lelinus grew up as the younger son of the Duke of Westmarch, one of the few Dukes in the Kingdom of Renova and one of the most powerful. He had grown up always expecting to inherit the lesser share of his father's wealth and estate, but he bore no grudge. He and his brother were not too close, but he loved him. Lelinus was more bookish and politically savvy than his outgoing older brother, but he was no slouch when it came to the sword either, though he clearly wasn't as talented as his brother. From a young age, he had only one close friend: the Northerner Rivera Talmir. They did everything together and it was a mark of his father's open-mindedness that he allowed his son to be close to a commoner, though things may have been different if he was the heir. It was at Lelinus' request that he took on Rivera as a Page, later to become a Squire and then a Knight.
It was also Rivera that comforted him when the plague took his mother and older brother in one fell swoop and helped him shoulder the responsibility that was once his brother's and he made sure to take time from his training and studying to see his father make her one of his knights. It was also from her that he learned to refine his fighting skills and when his father passed away two years ago, she remained his personal bodyguard, friend, and adviser. As Duke of Westmarch, he saw to the betterment of his land and his people when he was not required to attend Court in Aurora. Now, with the King dead, he travels to the Witan, many possibilities in mind but with one thing certain: he will do his duty.
