There was no surprise from anyone when Henry was placed in Strix. He’d always been a boy who devoured books, wanted to learn how everything worked and saw a place for logic in everything. Not to say that he’s a bookworm and dull as dishwater, as a matter of fact Henry prefers to use his natural deductive powers and wit for fun ends. Whether it means extra house point, extra dessert or no detention, Henry is very committed to making sure that his stay at school is the best possible and if he can impress a few people while he's at it. Even better. If he couldn’t be at home doing as he pleased he might as well be here doing as he pleased.
Henry usually has two cents to add to every conversation although he occasionally plays his cards close to his vest. He makes friends easily but close friends are another matter, it takes someone special to worm their way into Henry’s heart. As for romance, Henry can only shake his head and smile. A gentleman never tells.
Henry’s story is pretty cut and dried. He was born to a wizard father and a muggle mother who are still quite happily married. Henry’s mother always found his father’s world and abilities to be fascinating, it was something that brought them together, not apart. Considering what a happy family he’s from it comes as no surprise that he’s the youngest of four. Being the only boy and surrounded by sisters who all came into their magical gifts before he did made for quite a trying childhood, at least until the last one was sent off to school.
Henry was able to breathe a bit before he followed in their footsteps to Gaol, although his father always believed in a high pressure environment to foster success. It was a family tradition, at least as far as his father knew that they’d always been sorted into Aquila, just like all of his sisters were. Poor Henry, not only was it his first year away from home but he also had the expectations of his sisters to live up to. Of course Henry’s family was well aware that the prospect of him being sorted into Aquila was slim; they could only hope that Ursa wouldn’t be in his future. It might be old school but his wizarding side of the family still kept ties with old rivalries that meant nothing to him. When he was placed in Strix, his family breathed a sigh of relief. As did Henry for now he might actually gain some peace of mind. Henry was sure that he’d finally found people who would finally get him. That was six years ago and Henry has never regretted it.
