Thomas Greene

The speed demon that got more then he bargained for

0 · 268 views · located in New York City

a character in “Gen Super”, as played by That Ginger Guy

Description

Name: Thomas Greene

Powers: Monster Physiology: The ability to take on the form and/or abilities of a beast.
Electrical Exoskeleton: Ability to take electrical energy and form it around your body or another object, in order to shield or enhance abilities such as strength or speed

Age: 25

Bio: Thomas always craved speed. Cars, motorcycles, boats, whatever it was he could get his hands on. He was raised in a racing family and started at a young age. Once the flares hit everything changed. St first the changes were small, first was the speed. He could move faster then any car could, until he looked down. He was horrified by what he saw. His legs were no longer his own, they looked as if they had been replaced by some sort of serpent. That and the electricity he saw arcing off himself was enough to put him into a panic. As time passed he learned of what had happened, and the abilities he gained from it. After a year or so he became able to fully transform. In this monster form he could perform feats no one else could imagine. His reaction time was insane, along with the strength this new body gave him. He discovered he could channel electricity into his body and enhance his abilities even further.

Appearance: The difference between real Thomas and his monster form is unrecognizable. As a person hes about as fashionable as a Jackson Pollock painting. He just grabs whatever and it works.

Thomas’ monster form is nothing from this earth. He resembles some sort of serpent. The electricity he gathers seems to make his core glow brighter as he gains more speed.

Thomas let out a long sigh. He was hanging with his friends around a bench on the sidewalk. They just got done messing around racing each other down the block. Of course Thomas won but only by a small margin, not a good idea to use his powers in public.

"Guys I'm beat, lets go get some grub." Thomas suggested to his small band of merry men.

"Sorry broski but I'm all out of dough" piped up one of the guys.

"Same here" echoed the rest of the guys.

"Man i ain't gonna spot y'all again, looks like you fools are going hungry" Thomas waved over his shoulder as he sauntered across the street to the nearest diner. He wasn't one to wait when food was involved.

As Thomas walked in the diner a kaleidoscope of people peppered the seats. A rough looking dude in a tweed suit. Tweed? 'Man,' thought Thomas 'I thought I was the most fashionably challenged person around.' near the back some kid was staring intently at a laptop but not moving his hands. 'Whelp then there's that guy.' Everywhere had a That Guy. Thomas chuckled to himself as he plopped down in a seat, not bothering to wait for the hostess. A young lady brought him a menu eventually, without looking at it he ordered a bacon burger and a bowl of chili. Thomas glanced outside the window to pass the time while he waited. Ever since his change the world seemed to be in slow motion, nothing had the speed appeal to it anymore. He liked the city because of how much everyone was in a hurry. Now they just seemed like ants running around to him.

He glanced towards the door as he heard it open. He watched the guy who entered walk to a booth and sit down, taking a mental note of his appearance. He looked interesting. Strife catalogued the man's appearance so he could use it at a later date.

The waitress arrived with a large tray of his food and began setting items in front of him. Strife asked her if she could recommend any places nearby worth visiting, and used one of the crayons to write down the few suggestions she gave. She was kind of cute, now he took a moment to look at her. He decided to use her appearance for a bit once he found someplace to shift. She left, and he began tearing into one of his six cheeseburgers.

Maybe he should ask the nerd for the time... It occured to him he hadn't checked a clock in several days. Maybe ask if he could borrow the laptop for a bit? What were some good excuses... Well, he figured he did look a bit like a college professor in his tweed suit. Maybe he could get away with saying he needed to check if his 'students' had sent him any emails? Yes, maybe he'd say his own computer was broken, and maybe you could recommend one? That seemed believable. He shot a look around the room, then waved to get the boy's attention.

"Uhm." His voice wasn't particularly strong. When was the last time he'd spoken to someone? He cleared his throat and tried again. "Excuse me," he called. His voice was still a little hoarse, but at least he'd formed words. "Excuse me, young man?"

Strife went to stand, then faltered, unsure if he should approach the boy with the computer. Realizing he would look silly talking across the diner from his half-seated position, he stood fully and walked over.

"I was just wondering if you'd be okay with me borrowing your computer for a moment," he said. "My own computer broke a short time ago, and I was worried a few of my students might have sent me emails that I haven't recieved, since my... well, computer broke."

Yes, perfectly convincing, Strife thought. It wasn't as if this guy could detect lies or anything. He glanced back at his seat to make sure no one had taken his food. No one had.

"I'd be perfectly willing to compensate," he continued, placing his left hand in his pocket.

A library? He supposed that could do. But wait, didn't those usually require library cards? Which means he'd need to give a name and address, right? In all honesty he didn't really know how libraries work. That sounded about right, though. Nah, better to use the kid's.

"Ah. I'll check them there then, but for now I'd just like to see if there are any," he replied. "Not much point in going over there if I don't need it, right?" H gave a small chuckle, which he hoped sounded trustworthy. "I am still willing to reimburse you, if you like."
