Kurai Mamoru

"I am Kurai Mamoru, your warden, your enemy, your worst nightmare; from the beginning of your sentence until the end of time."

0 · 442 views · located in Inlight City

a character in “Genesis: The Secret Annihilation Team”, as played by RebornAncient12

Description

Name - Kurai Mamoru

Age - 38

Gender - Male

Personality - Kurai is cold, cruel, and habitually sadistic; he ensures the prisoners taste fear every second of their lives. He is a silent hunter and an even deadlier sentry.

Appearance-Kurai is a towering person with bullet-proof armor and high-tech goggles. Almost every inch of the armor contains a weapon. Kurai has brown eyes and brown hair, allowing him to blend in with ordinary civilians.

Kurai in his armor. He is rarely seen without it.

Side- Genesis

Rank - Guard

Abilities -Kurai is a weapons master by nature, and has two powers. One of them is making a person tell the truth even with the simplest touch. His other power allows him and anyone else of his choosing to see into the mind of a target, torturing the said target in the process. He can perfom this ability to a minimum mind reading, which doesn't harm the target.

Weapon(s) of choice - Kurai uses any weapon at his disposal, usually guns, boomerangs, brass knuckles, and a shock-gun. One member of the Genesis comments that his armory and abilities make him more like an Attacker than a Guard.

Silence. This is a rare phenomena that occurs within the Prison of the Genesis Headquarters. No one understands how or why this happens, but they are happy when it does, for it marks that no one has thought to escape from it. Until now.

Quietly yet quickly, the prisoner strides out of his cell. Even a single sound will wake a nearby prisoner, and an alarm. But he managed to go far enough to see the exit. He could feel excitement, the taste of freedom seduced him to walk further. His hand nearly touched the door...nearly.

A shot rang out. All of the prisoners woke up to the sound of a crying man. Few were unfortunate enough to see the source of the sound.

The prisoner felt down on his knees and clutched his hand between his thighs. Drips of blood were on the floor. Out of the shadows, a tall, armored being walked to its victim and held him by the neck. This is the person all prisoners know and fear; Kurai Mamoru.

"Next time," Kurai snarled to the prisoner, "I won't miss."

He grabbed the prisoner's arm and dragged him all the way to his cell. All the prisoner could do was scream. He struggled, wrestled with the absence of hope to escape. Like the thousands before him, the prisoner was tossed into his cell and locked in it. There was no escape. There is no escape. There is nothing, but fear.

Ameriia woke hearing gunshots, she wasn't sure how many, but she knew that it was bad. Not once did she remember why she woke up in an alley, though she did know she made herself invisible to the untrained eye with her wind, yet she ran into the prison spear in hand and looked at Tatsuya and Kurai seeing a prisoner, "I-is everything okay?" she asked in a hesitant and still shy tone before noticing everything was fine to say the least as she scanned around using her natural photographic memory to rapidly scan the area's details and how the prisoner got out before he was shot, from what she heard was once before she sighed, 'Another tried to escape and as usual, Kurai shot him... Great' she thought before just standing with her spear ready for anything.

Kurai looked at the two people who stood before him and turned his glance to the prisoners. Immediately, they diverted their eyes and minded their own business, knowing the punishment should they do otherwise.

"They have been very...active lately." Kurai grumbled to his companions, but the prisoners flinched upon hearing his voice. It was grave, serious, and haunting with a dash of anger, but there was something else in his voice that made the prisoners fear him. Many things about him are frightening, too much for a prisoner to make a list.

"Do you have a problem with my methods, Miss Minat?" Kurai asked. From his mask, his eyes glowed blood red, completely different from his normal, brown eyes. Months passed since the last time he took off his mask, and since then, he decided to not take it off.

As Paper-Head walked in, with his cornetto now fully consumed though with plenty of evidence of messy drops, splashes and splats of mint chocolate ice cream on his suit, mingling with the earlier curry stains, he entered the prison of the Genesis base, strolling over towards Kurai and Ameriia nonchalantly, seeming somewhat oblivious to the fearful cries of the prisoners and also remained indifferent as Tatsuya left.
"Hello you two, noisy again are they? I think we should get these walls soundproofed, less nuisance then.", the man in his stained suit asked as directed a thumb towards the holding cells before continuing; "By the sounds of things, unless you were torturing again Kurai, it seemed a few were trying to make a runner again, very irritating indeed.", though he seemed quite far from feeling irritated, and gave a casual shrug.
"Anyways, how's tricks? Busy day for either of you? Only had some curry and a bit of cornetto earlier is all. Anyways don't suppose there was any corpses involved for me to rid of? Been a while since I opened a portal to Nynlle. ", Paper-Head then babbled conversationally, deciding to wonder off an lean against one of the cells before peering over at the prisoner staying very still inside and muttered glumly; "Tatsuya's been paralyzing people again then." before sighing in disappointment.

It annoyed Quentin sometimes when they decided to capture criminals instead of execute them, not that he wanted them to be punished for their crimes, oh no, but simply it meant he had little work to do. He not only thoroughly enjoyed removing bodies from potential crime scenes from his teammates acts of retribution, but using his own dimension abillity as well, finding both to be immensely satisfying, and probably the only reason why he even stays with the group, having no real connection with the thirst for justice by most.

Ameriia looked at Tatsuya before speaking, "I'm sorry. I haven't seen anything lately..." she said timidly before looking over at Kurai's direction before next responding to him, "N-no no!" she said in a panicked tone, they were her teammates, she was still shy and timid towards them because of her personality, and almost jumped as Quinten came by with a barrage of comments and questions before she began walking out, "I-... Guess I'll... Get to work..." she said in a choppy and still rather intimidated type of speech as she walked out covering her spear in her winds and walking into the street, the sun beaming out on her face as she began to patrol.

--Later after walking about for twenty or thirty minutes Ameriia sighed, being lost in thought as she walked scanning the people around her as she did her job in somewhat secrecy, until, she noticed a suspicious man dart into the alley before she followed out of curiosity, springing a trap of a bunch of criminals now surrounding her as she radioed her allies, since she wasn't able to handle the about fifteen men surrounding her,

"Eh-... Uh... We might have a problem... I need an attacker's support here ASAP." she said quietly and timidly before sending her Coordinates to the rest of the team in hopes she can get some help before drawing her still hidden spear for a fight.

Kurai watched as Ameriia ran off. She reminded him of his old self, the side of him that disappeared after a certain tragedy. He really doesn't want to talk about it, or even think of it. He was thankful when "Paper-head" graciously gave his usual comments. Paper-head was the perfect person to be with if he wants to get his mind off things.

"One of the prisoners did try to make a run for it..." Kurai replied, "...and failed."

Kurai snarled off Paper-head's comment on sound-proofing the prison. If any loud, dangerous and threatening event happened in the prison, he would definitely need back-up.

Upon hearing his comment on Tatsuya, Kurai laughed a little, "Maybe he should have my job..."

Paper-Head shrugged at Kurai's comment about Tatsuya and replied; "Guess so, though I bet that impatient fella would hate it and run off to beat something up. We really should look for counseling for him, he really has been rather moody lately."
He stretched for a few moments and yawned sheepishly, standing up straight from the cell he was leaning on, and simply gazed around the holding cells for a few moments as he subbed at the food stains on his suit. He was then startled at the sudden announcement through the bases speakers by Ameriia, that she was currently surrounded by a number of thugs in an alleyway and would need some amount of back up, which seemed to brighten the man up somewhat.

"Seems like our hot-headed attacker will be venting his issues soon anyhow." , he said grinning under his bag as slowly made his way towards the prison exit, calling behind him to Kurai; "I might as well get ready to move, always plenty of fresh corpses when he decides to make his move. Keeps me busy, though I do enjoy my job. Certainly not much of a test for my powers but eh, there's rarely a chance for it to be frank. Anyhow, see you soon enough Kurai, keep up all the good work my go-GAMBLING POTATO JUGGLER SERENITY-od man, as do I."
He then proceeded to open a portal of his to the personal dimension known as Nynlle, his glorified storage house, and retrieve a blue, well kept mountain bike. He then follow suit in sitting atop it, and proceeding to pedal away casually down the hallway, mumbling to himself; "I wish they gave me something faster to travel atop, mountain bikes aren't exactly a bugatti veyron now are they?", taking out his own communicator as he began heading to the bases exit and spoke as he began radioing Ameriia; "Well chaps, how goes the slaughter of criminal scum? Any volunteers to visit Nynlle yet on a permanent basis?"

Kurai sighed as Paper-head biked off to where Ameriia and Tatsuya were. Many a time when he missed some action because of his current job, but he didn't complain. He didn't complain when he had to work 24/7 because (apparently) the other guards were actually spies and inside-men. The small, dark room known as "the Prison" seemed to be Kurai's whole world now.

As he does everyday, Kurai walked past the many rows of prison cells, checking if the prisoners are still there and if anything "out of the ordinary" was going on. It is during these times that he usually gets to bust a secret Sergan operation, after "very thorough interrogation" of a prisoner, who would usually lead the escape. Nothing seemed to happen. It was normal. Normal is good. Good means that he gets to stay there until he receives orders.

This is why Kurai hates his current job. Too much time of idleness, a lot of time to sit down and think, more than enough time to remember...

No. He shouldn't remember it. He decided that all he could do was hope that his teammates would survive and get back alive.
