β—’LIKES
✦ Singing - She sings all the time. Students can most of the time hear her faint singing in the corridors.
✧ Outside - Even though she can't go outside, she still enjoys the view from the windows.
✦ Music - Her favorite instrument to hear music from is a piano; she thinks it's beautiful. If somebody is playing an instrument at some point, she'll make up words to the song and sing along.
✧ Dawn - She loves to watch the sunrise, and the feeling of the pleasant breeze that often blows through in the early hours of morning.
✦ Books - Even though she can't read one herself, she'll often look over a student's shoulder in order to read.

β—’DISLIKES
✦ Getting Seen - She prefers not being seen by the students; she's quite shy.
✧ Loud Noises - Loud noises annoy her.
✦ Blood - She absolutely despises the sight of blood. It reminds her of her death.
✧ Insects - Although they can't hurt her, she's disgusted and afraid of bugs.

β—’STRENGTHS
✦ Polite - She's polite no matter what.

β—’WEAKNESSES
✦ Shy - She's an introvert.
✧ Not Scary - She simply attracts people with her calm aura, way more than she wants.

β—’FEARS
✦ Bugs - It's a silly fear, really.
✧ Moving On - She's afraid of what'll happen to her if she does.
✦ Getting Seen - She's shy, remember? She doesn't really like encountering people.

"Sanity is only temporary; we'll lose ourselves at some point in life."-

β—’HISTORY
Chiyo was born to a traditional family. They owned the Inoue shrine, and valued their outdated ways. She was raised as a kind young lady, and wasn't one to simply disobey her seniors. Chiyo's family valued her, and used her as a good insight of their shrine's reputation. Chiyo really hadn't minded at all, for she wanted her family to be happy. Though, whenever she did something wrong, she'd get punished. She never understood why they'd do that. She never really found out either.

The first time she ever went to school was junior high. Before that, she had been home schooled by her parents. Kids in the school mostly took advantage of her innocent personality and got her in trouble a lot. They'd simply pick a fight with her, inflict some kind of damage on themselves (usually tripping because of her swift dodges to their attacks), and tell the authorities that she started the whole thing. Her family was very disappointed in her actions, and decided to send her away. Where she was sent was Castle Academy. School for delinquents and students who couldn't stay at one school. This certainly wasn't a place for Chiyo; for she had done nothing wrong. She was simply accused by her peers to make it seem like she fought many people, and hurt them in some way.

Nobody really ever minded her the time at the academy. She was invisible; a ghost to the others' eyes. She couldn't deny that she felt alone, though she hid and endured it quite well. She was only going to spend a few months in there since the "fights" weren't severe, but a week before she'd leave, something horrible occurred. A student had finally snapped, and went on a rampage. Nobody was hurt and got out safely, all except for Chiyo. The student murdered her in cold blood, cutting all her limbs and her head off. She has the scars to prove it. When she awoke as an official ghost, she now knew reality, and she doesn't want reckless teenagers interrupting her peace, no matter how kind she may be.

***************************************************

A crowd of new students are gathered in the main building of the boarding school called Castle Academy. Regardless of their reasons for being hereβ€”be it their parents sent them here to this school for superficial reasons, or if maybe they actually cared, one thing is for sureβ€”every single one of them has done something worthy of being sent here. Some students have parents with them, wishing them well and sending them off. Others have no parents present. A faculty member stands in front of the crowd, explaining the rules of the school (curfew is 8 on school days, lights out at 9, no sneaking out in a blizzard, no running in the halls, etc etc) to the presumed rowdy delinquents. The students will step up one by one afterwards to one of many tables set up in the citadel to gather their informationβ€”class schedules, room assignments, roommates, things like that. After they've gathered these, they'll be off to their own devices before lights out in nine hours.

The school is peaceful in some regards, but the spirits are stirring. Somewhere in the castle, they are speaking . . .

Nova stares at the piece of paper in his hand, surveying it from top to bottom, once more, then twice again. Lights out at nine...? Jeez... that's so damn early. What are we, kindergarteners? He rubs the his shoulder, through the knitted fabric of his sweater with sleeves too long, and looks around sheepishly. One wouldn't be able to tell that this is the young man who was kicked out of three schools for being a smart-ass (though, the kid looks like a NEET, so let's face itβ€”everyone could tell he probably never showed up to class.) just by looking at him. The raven pushes up his glasses and sinks his head slightly into his sweater. There's got to be some kinda mistake. I mean, I'm not really a delinquent or anything! Nothing like these guys... I don't commit crimes or... or you know, anything! I just mouthed off to some teachers, and my shitty parents sent me here for it. Somewhere near him, he hears two students he presumes to be old residents of this lousy school say something about how the "ghosts" must be "angry", and at this, Nova shivers. Ghosts...? He can't deal with those.

Nova groans and flops onto a big, comfortable chair miserably. There's absolutely no way he's going to move from this chair now that he's decided to succumb to self-loathing and, as a new addition to his awful feelings, fear. He looks down at the paper he received from one of the tables and skims through it again. At the very end of it, there's something he's appeared to have somehow missed the first dozen times he's read it to himself:

❛For as long as the blizzard starting either tonight or tomorrow lasts, there will be no exiting the school unless it's an emergency. The gymnasium will be used for P.E. instead of the open fields. Sneaking out will not be tolerated. Thank you for your cooperation, and we look forward to working with you to become better! ❜

Nova crumples up the paper and tosses it into the fireplace, leaning his head on his palm. It's going to be a long few fucking years.

The darkest room during the day happens to be club room 2A, which hasn't been home to a club for quite some years now. There are cobwebs forming in the corners, even, and Bertholdt does not mind them that much. Being a connoisseur of scary things in his living years, he's quite fond of them. A long legged spider drops from one of the webs on its own thread, weaving as it goes, and the white-haired ghost watches it from his spot in the air, looking as though he's laying on a table on his back. During the day, ghosts can't do much, unless students were to wander into the darker, dingier parts of the schoolβ€”the parts that are not quite off-limits, but where nobody dares to venture alone.

Bertholdt sighs and lets himself fall to the ground, though he does not make a soundβ€”ghosts, after all, do not thump, as they aren't making physical contact with this world. Despite their abilities to make themselves tangible in this world, their movements and footsteps will not make any noise. Noise is depended on by other tangible objects, like glass plates or bells or wind chimes. Ugh, those last two seem awfully boring. I like plates myself. My shadows can throw them for me~ β™ͺ

Rolling himself onto his stomach from the floor, he presses his cheek to the wooden floor, as though he's trying to listen for anything downstairsβ€”any movement of new or old students, most likely. When he comes up with naught, he sighs and soundlessly taps his nails against the ground, looking around the empty abandoned club room.

❝Oi, Chiyo-chan, are you in here? Can you sing me a song? I'm bored out of my damned mind, and I need something to, uh, lift my spirits. Ufufu...❞

Kisa's voice rouses him a bit. The tall ghost adjusts himself to sit upright, craning his head toward her. The action is a bit unsettling, as he's tilting his head pretty far backwards, but it isn't an unusual gesture for the man. His lips curl into a smile. ❝Nn? Why, I'm listening for new kids, of course! I can't really hear much, but I did hear some other kids talking about us ghosts. Were your ears burning, Kisa-chan?❞ Bertholdt hums cheerfully, standing up and dusting the (imaginary, as it seems like this is a habit Bertholdt has not shaken from life) before he turns to look at Kisaβ€”the normal way, instead of looking over his shoulder at her. Indeed, they had known each other, albeit casually, from when they were alive. From the looks of it, Kisa seems like such a sweet girl, it's no wonder they hadn't really become acquainted with each other, but he did enjoy the times they did stop and chat. Bertholdt slides a hand into his pocket and examines his nails with his other hand, looking bored. ❝I think Chiyo-chan's kinda cross with me. I scared some second-years that stayed home over the break last night when she was around, so maybe that's it. I'm hopin' she'll come around soon and sing me a sweet little song.❞ He straightens up to look at Kisa, aware of the approaching footsteps he hears in the hallway. There's only one person he can imagine who would willingly step foot in this corridor without any prompting, like a dare or some luring from the ghosts themselves. Even then, nobody dares anybody to venture down a dark corridor surrounded by abandoned classrooms in the middle of the day. He glances over to a window to see long, green hair. He slides his other hand in his pocket.

❝Saaay, Kisa-chan. What got you in here in the first place, anyways? Not sure if I ever knew. Me? I was always doing bad stuff. Bipolar disorder's a hell of a thingβ€”makes you do all kinds of reckless shit, you know?❞ He waves a hand in the air, speaking as if it were nothingβ€”as if it wasn't the reason he was a ghost in the first place. ❝You, though. You look like a good girl, and I've got an awfully big weak spot for those.❞ He places a hand over his unbeating heart, a smile on his face.

Nova, having had his fill of his nervous episode after overhearing a conversation between two older students, stares down at his hands. Oh, God. What's he going to do for the next... how many years? Two? Three, if he gets held back? A different sense of panic rises within him now. He could be stuck here forever if he doesn't get it together. The rules to this place sound strict as hell, and he wasn't even listening to half of them. The borderline NEET hangs his head, sighing a long sigh. He really screwed himself over by ditching class all the time and mouthing off, huh? He doesn't even know where he finds the courage to do that to teachers, either. It must be his lack of people skills from not going out so much.

Maybe he could remedy that. Just maybe.

He looks over to the first person he can settle his eyes on, and it happens to be two peopleβ€”one white-haired boy (oh God, is he a ghost? no, Nova, that's sillyβ€”ghosts don't come out during the day!) laying on the couch, being roused from an attempted nap by an eccentric-looking lavender-haired girl (oh, she has to be a ghost. wait, we've already been over this.). Well, the two of them seem busy, so he'll find someone else to attempt at socializing with. His tired gaze moves again, and this time, his eyes settle on an elegant looking boy in a corner. Kind of like one of those stereotypically rich boys you'd see in a manga. That thought intrigues him, and with it, Nova stands and straightens out his sweater. He rolls his shoulders and cracks his neck before he walks himself over to Michiβ€”

...β€”and happens to fall face first in front of the boy's feet.

It appeared he had misjudged the height of a wrinkle in one of the floor rugsβ€”such tacky rugs they are, at that!β€”and fell right on his face. Mortified, Nova decides to curl in on himself. He doesn't seem to care if this makes him look even stranger; he feels safer this way.

One would absolutely, positively not believe that such a horrendously pathetic boy belongs at this school.

Kisa Amoruso
Kiyoko raises a playful eyebrow at his awkward position and floated around him in circles, occasionally setting her foot down on the floor only to boost herself back up into the air.
Hmm... Burning? I wouldn't call it that, more... Tingling.
she replied and followed with a girlish giggle when he mentioned Inoue.
Don't worry, I doubt she'll stay that way for long. She's quite sweet.
The distant sound of footsteps made Kisa drop down slowly from her floating session curiously and she tilted her head curiously at the door. Normally the little ones are scared of this hallway... she thought to herself.

Her attention was soon grabbed by Bertholdt again and she listened to his words quietly.
That sounds like it must've been hard to deal with...
Kisa knew how Bertholdt died and had a feeling that being bipolar played a part in his early death. She bit her lip shyly before she began to speak about herself, something she wasn't huge on doing.
I was a "good girl" for the majority of my lifetime, but after being neglected so much by mom and dad, I started doing a lot of... Things.
she explained vaguely and scratched her cheek slowly with a friendly grin.
They couldn't handle me being disobedient so they sent me here.
she finished before hearing a knock.

Ooh, now who could that be?
Kiyoko gasped playfully and walked towards the door, sticking her face through the door playfully, meeting long green hair, green eyes and pale skin. She studied his face and rubbed her chin, recognizing the student from a few years before. She had seen him in this part of the school before quite a few times but always avoided him, his lack of fear of the ghosts intimidating her. Kiyoko slowly sunk back in the classroom and took a few steps backwards.
Green hair.
Was all she said as she looked back at Bertholdt, waiting for him to make the decision of inviting the teen in or not.
