Introduction

ImageThis is a story about twelve young adults that found themselves at the doors of strange school, owned by and even stranger man. Each with a card and a dorm key. All they know is that each and every one of them is exceptionally talented. What each was gifted in was a mystery, hell, the entire thing was a bit of a mystery. Other than the promise of opportunities people only dream of, a chance to make their own futures. The headmaster promised each and every one of them the chance to shape their own destinies. There had to be a catch though. Most every teen was thinking the same thing. "This seems too good to be true." That's the real question now, isn't it?

And to think for them, it all started with a letter~

The had started like any other day. Wake up, get dressed, and make breakfast. Nothing out of the ordinary. Or at least thats how it would have been if not for the letter that had arrived the previous morning. You had stayed up all night with the letter and the contents of the envelope it came in spread out before you on your bed. The letter, a key, a tarot card, a single plane ticket, and a photograph of a very expensive looking mansion. It all came in the mail with no return address, or any definite information as to where it could have came from. The letter stated as follows.

    Dear Student,

If you are reading this, then you have been selected from dozens and dozens of candidates for a very rare and highly sought after opportunity. I have chosen you to come and join my school. The program itself is publicly know by the name of "Gifted Academy". You have no doubt heard of the stories, how many students have failed to ever graduate, the small number of students allowed to enroll, and how rich and famous those who do graduate become. I am the headmaster of that very school. But don't get the wrong idea, this is no conventional school. The title of headmaster is more a formality if anything else.

Right now you may be wondering "Why choose me?". Well that answer is quite simple actually. It ties to every student I ever have and will accept to my academy. You are gifted. A genius at what you do, with a level of raw talent that many can only ever dream of having. Talent and gifts are only good for so much time though, without drive, those who have such gifts will inevitably find themselves at the doors of failure. What I offer you is a life line of sorts. Through experience I have become quite a successful man. But not without my fair share of troubles and problems I assure you. I could have only wished for the opportunity that I now present to you. To be guided, help develop your skills, learn and think openly. What I offer is a chance for you to be able to achieve success.

You have two options. Take the items that came in the envelope, and wait 24 hours. A man in a limo will arrive at your door step. He will take you to the airport where you will use the ticket to come here to my academy. Or, hand over the letter and other items to the man when he makes his appearance, and deny the invitation. Whatever you decide, it is all your choice. You are not being forced or pressured in any way. If you choose to come then I cannot wait for your arrival. If not then I apologize for any time this may have taken up.

    Sincerely
    Anderson Montgomery March

"You were concerned. How very sweet of you Signora Hisakawa. I am truly touched, and well it's simple reall-", Sherry was about to correct his assumption but the person on the other side of the door seemed to beat her to it. Considering she had seen Samuel just down the hall a little while earlier and the fact that he not only displayed curiosity in her case and a sort of hospitality for interesting boy across from her, it would most likely be his dark head popping round the door.

She was right, She couldn't help the small smile that lit her face as her observations were validated by the tell-tale sigh of agitation entering Mr. Sins posture, and turned her head to look at Samuel, her hands placed delicately across her knees where she had seated herself upon the floor and watched their interaction with open curiosity.

Mr. Sin placed a somewhat convincing smile on his face before greeting the other boy, if it weren't his words and positioning in front of the door she might of even believed the smile herself, but she had not spent hours watching to be so easily fooled.

Samuels response made her want to begin clapping, she could already get a feel for what would happen between the two boys and was already feeling ahead of their personalities and conversation styles. Each boy loved to put on faces for others and yet that only made her want to know more. Again, she read through the 'honest' apology the boy attempted to portray and found herself desperate to inquire why he was disguising his opinions. It wasn't in an attempt to avoid hurting Mr. Sins feelings and so there must of been another reason... One of those human things...

She startled slightly as Samuel turned to address her, lost in her musing of her observations and forgetting that she was actually present in the room and not a simple third person spectator. Immediately she rose, it had been drummed into her so many times as a child she barely noticed she had bowed her head slightly towards the two boys.

"I apologise for not introducing myself Mr. Samuel, My name is Sherry Hisakawa. I am unfortunately unaware of your own surname and am not able to address you appropriately.", she paused before tilting her head ever so slightly before asking a question, "It is clear you hold no warm for each other Mr. Sin and Mr. Samuel and yet you willingly enter each other company. I was under the knowledge that when one held a distaste for another, they would avoid each other?", she finished, blinking up at them.

~Samuel J. Livingston~

On the outside, Samuel kept his composure. On the inside, however, Samuel legitimately felt like he had gone pale. What the hell?! I've clearly underestimated her capabilities by a longshot. However... Samuel studied her body language and her expression; she was expecting an answer, although her large eyes were incredibly dull and emotionless.

...She's extremely blunt and inconsiderate of morals, but she doesn't look like the immoral type. I'd say that she has simply had so little interaction outside of her little bubble that she doesn't know how to act like the average person when communicating with others.

Yes. That was it, Samuel thought to himself. After cleaning up his mental composure, he responded to Sherry.

"It's Livingston; and it's nice to meet you, Sherry. As for that question..." Samuel drew a blank, and he suddenly started to panic again.

I can't think of a reply at all, she's almost completely disabled me with a single question!

After a moment, Samuel was able to come up with a viable reply to Sherry's question. Viable to the average person, but to Sherry...?

"Well, some people just don't work like that. It seems as though The Devil and I fit into that category of people who have other means of..." He glanced over at the Italian boy with piercing brown eyes. "...Ridding the distaste from relationships they have with other people."

Samuel topped it all off with a slight grin in Sherry's direction.

Cassandra had followed Nate somewhat fuzzily through the maze-like interior of the mansion, not really focused on where exactly they were heading but after a little while the route had started to seem familiar to her. Her view of the world was a little unsure as she felt the alcohol sloshing around her head, making her think she’d maybe been a little rash in finishing the bottle. She was giving her head gentle shakes while half muttering under her breath, even knowing it was barely making a difference. She was so caught up trying to clear her thoughts that she walked straight into Nate as he greeted someone ahead of them. Peeking weirdly around him Cassie stared at a weirdly orange blur for a few moments before clearing to reveal the girl who’d been sat on Nate’s right when they’d been seated.

“Um… Er Hey.” She mumbled, half raising her hand to wave before realising she was still carrying the empty bottle and the sight of it caused her to jerk slightly. A soft hick of air escaped her lips causing her to blush slightly before continuing. “Your name was, Chess?” She asked a little unsure, her voice a little unsteady as she battled between sobriety and drunkenness.

Before Nathan could even think of a response, he let out a yelp as he was shoved forwards a few inches. Looking back, he saw Cassandra awkwardly giving a greeting with the hand which held that wine bottle. Oh, geez, she must be drunk, huh...uh...should I steady her? No, wait, she might consider that rude or something...but what if she ends up crashing into something again? Uh, uh, uh, crap, uh...

"Uh, y-yeah, that's right...t-this is Chess," he stuttered, trying to get his bearings straight again. Man, why do I panic so goddamn easily...? "And, uh, yeah...y-you can come with us, Chess. Even though...you'd think we'd have found it by now, heh..."

Looking around, he tried to remember which way they had been going before meeting Chess. Wait, but that was the way from which she came, and she couldn't find it either...maybe it'd be that way, then? "Hm...maybe we should try this way?" Nathan suggested, pointing in the direction Chess had originally been walking towards. "I don't think we passed that one earlier, after all..."

He started to walk in the indicated direction, but paused briefly to consider something. Finally, he let out a sigh, mentally steeled himself for any possible tongue-lashing he'd receive, and took Cassandra's hand in his own. Then he started pulling her along, trying not to be too forceful. With the artist being somewhat drunk, it was probably a good idea to guide her.

"Okay then...come on, Chess," Nathan called, actually turning back to make sure she was coming along this time. As he kept walking, he wondered if he should try talking with either girl some more...but couldn't even think of a single thing to talk about.

It wasn't enough that Hakon was frightened of such a small puppy, but the extent of his fear was making him panic and go on a mental auto pilot and not even notice running over in his haste to run and hide from the demon subject of his fears. Now he was curled up in a cabinet, audibly shivering and his head buried in his knees, chanting a quiet phrase to try and calm himself down. Hakon was not used to having his fears shoved right into his face like that. No doubt that he couldn't show his face in front of the others now that he was actually thinking. Albeit, still rather frightened of the notion of beast may have followed him.

"Is it gone?" The green asked through the cabinet door, now the sound of him munching on the last pieces of meat before the the cabinet door opened a tiny bit for him to peek out of it. He could see some of the cooking staff still around as if either ignoring them or just didn't seem to notice anything amiss. "Zat zing is gone now, ja?" soon his claws hand laid itself on the floor below before the rest of him slipped out of the small space. As smooth as a feline coming out of a hiding spot, he soon started to crawl around his white haired friend with more ease that should be allowed for a human walking on all fours, not just his hands and knees. "Es tut mir leid.* I don't like dogs fery much I hafe a..uh...Scheiße* vas zee vord?" he plopped down on his side, purring in thought as he tried to remember what word he was looking for, though seemingly comfortable with is surroundings enough to basically be the resident cat of the mansion now.

Chess lifted her hand to wave in greeting at the other girl, giving a bit of a shy shake of her palm more than anything. She narrowed her eyes at the bottle in Cassandra's grip, wondering how the other female had managed to get alcohol on the campus. Of course Chess should have suspected something like this would happen sooner or later, teenagers were teenagers after all and they were naive. To get drunk on the first day though? They had hardly been here for three hours and already Chess had seen fights break out, students running off together, and now a girl drunk off her rocker. The smaller girl shook her head and sighed, wondering what society had come to but made no mention or indication that she had noticed the empty alcohol container.

Instead Chess followed Nathan, going down the direction he had pointed to. "This place is a lot bigger than the building lets on," Chess mentioned casually, walking with her hands swinging at her sides. If only Chess had paid more attention upon arrival, then maybe she would know where to find one of those butlers that could lead them to their rooms.

The path took them down a long hallway, Chess continued to run her fingers along the wall, wondering how they were ever supposed to find anything here. Maybe they should have started this off by giving them all a tour, that way tomorrow they would know where to go for classes. At this point it seemed as though none of them would show up for anything, seeing as how no one knew where anything was. Or maybe a few students did know? After the display Chess had seen in the dining hall though she hardly doubted anyone was willing to help one another. Another sigh escaped her, this was going to be a lot harder than she had anticipated.

Samuel was a very obnoxious man. Bel would never quite understand it. Samuel attempted to get past him into the room but Bel stood firm.

"Ah so you came to rid distasteful things from relationships? I see." Stepping back a bit but keeping Samuel out as he spoke with Sherry. However Samuel had made himself an enemy. One he would regret underestimating. Smiling sweetly as he could muster, an almost disturbing smile. His eyes opened only halfway open, the red of his eyes glowing with a burning hatred. It was as if Bel had channeled the Devil himself. His voice became softer, yet somehow more threatening as his accent became quite heavy.

"If you are so very keen on ridding distasteful things from our relationship Signore Livingston. . . I suggest you start by ridding yourself from my sight." With that Bel gave him a glare that would send chills before slamming the door in his face. Turning back to Sherry looking down at her, his glare still present, his voice still threatening yet now it was lighter, almost sing-songy.

"I apologize for my behavior. Signora, however it would seem to me you have a severe lack of manners. Here I was thinking you were concerned. You wanted to see inside who I am, see what makes me what I am. Too bad so sad Bella. You have irritated me, your rudeness has become your downfall. I admit though, I am having a rather bad day. . . I suggest you leave Signora Hisakawa." At the end of his small speech Bel folded his slender hands in front of him and tilted his head smiling. It was the sort of smile one would expect from some sort of lunatic, ready to strike.

"I am truly sorry Signora, but I don't have time nor do I have patience any long to be underestimated or toyed with. I am not some puppet you can make dance. Nor are you, I'm sure you understand. . . Now please, if you don't leave something. . . Unnecessary might occur. You don't want that do you? I know I don't. . ." Bel knelt down and placed a hand on her shoulder firmly, his mouth opening in a smile. He whispered in a voice impossible to put into words.

"Besides. . . The answers you seek from me, you really would be better off not knowing Signora."

~Samuel J. Livingston~

Samuel was unfazed by the sourness in The Devil's words, as well as the hatred that blatantly emitted from the Italian's eyes. He knew that the kid would fight back; it was simply second nature for a person such as him. He was slightly irritated, but he tried to stay on the positive side of things.

Before he could respond, though, the Italian boy finished off a pretty nasty insult, gave Samuel a glare, and slammed the door in his face. Well, that was rude ... it can't be helped, though.

Finding nothing better to do, he started walking away back towards his own room before realizing that he had completely failed at what he wanted to do. However, Sherry's rude comment will probably get her thrown out as well. If that's the case, then I haven't completely failed yet.

Halfway between The Devil's room and his own, he leaned up against a wall, crossing his arms and planting one foot square on the wall, while the other was flat on the ground with his entire leg extended. Samuel closed his eyes, waiting for when the girl left the room.

As the wandered through the halls Cassandra heard the other girl comment about the endless nature of the building and nodded her agreement. Though the sudden movement of her head seemed rather ill advised given the surge of dizziness it caused, even if much reduced from what it had been a little earlier.

“So far formal schooling has been less than appealing, would either of you agree?” Her voice had regained its more lyrical tone, even though it was slightly tinged with her diminishing intoxication. “I wonder if this is similar elsewhere? I have so little, I believe the word is ‘understanding’? No, experience perhaps? School is rather unknown for me.”

She smiled from the red haired girl back to the awkward boy and shrugged as if to back up her statements, her overall bearing having settled back into being somewhat sheepish though her cheeks were still quite flushed and her breath rather alchoholic.

Guessing which direction to travel in next was really getting old, and Nathan's legs were actually starting to hurt a little from all the walking. "Ugh...yeah, if you ask me, this place is WAY too big," the boy agreed, glancing around an intersection of hallways before deciding to move left. "They could have at least given us a map, though..."

At the very least, the fact that Cassandra wasn't flipping out from getting dragged along--especially by quite possibly the most socially awkward boy in all of existence--was a good sign. Instead, even in her drunk state, she just kept talking as if things were normal, only slightly slurring her words.

"Well...what they've got going here is definitely is different from what I had in America, I can say that much," Nathan replied, looking around another corner and banking right this time. "Over there, the teachers actually are decent enough to meet their students in person. And it's a lot noisier." He paused for far too long before adding, "And, uh, I think saying 'understanding' in this context does make sense...I think." Great. Yay for redundancy.

Presently, they reached a flight of stairs. Hm...I dunno why, but I have a feeling that the place we're looking for is up there... But as Nathan gazed up at it, he thought of something that made him even more worried. Crap, will Cassandra trip over the stairs? Oh, geez, um, uh, um, um...should I carry her, maybe? N-no, that's way worse than just pulling her along! I shouldn't...oh, screw it, I've already done at least five stupid things within one night anyway.

His face flushed, Nathan released Cassandra's hands...before bending down, putting his hands around her waist (while she was behind him), and lifting her up onto his back. And almost immediately, he started to topple over. "Whoa! Ah! Oh, crap--" Somehow, he ended up with his face planted against the railing on the side of the staircase...but still on his feet.

...I don't even know what I'm doing anymore... Letting out a long sigh, half of relief and half of exasperation, Nathan pulled himself away from the railing and slowly started to ascend the stairs. "...this is already way more close body contact than I'm comfortable with..." he muttered. By the time they reached the top of the stairs, Nathan was exhausted--and yes, he wished he even lifted. But as he struggled to move around the next corner, he noticed something strange about this hallway...

Slowly straightening up his body to let Cassandra stand on her own (but still keeping her hand in his own), he approached one of the doors and frowned. There seemed to be some kind of image drawn upon it--an image of a boy in flowering robes, with a bag tied to a staff which was held over his right shoulder, and a flower in his left hand. He was standing upon a rocky cliff, with the ocean spraying up below him, and a very tiny...dog?...rearing up next to him. At the bottom was written the words, "THE FOOL."

"This looks oddly familiar...no, wait..." Quickly searching his pockets, Nathan found what he was looking for in the left pocket of his pants. Taking out the Moon card, he held it up in front of the door. Yes, the styles seemed to be the same. Then, that probably meant...

Looking around, he saw that the other doors in the hallways were marked similarly. Soon enough, he saw a door with the same image as the Moon, at the far end of the hallway. "Could these be...our rooms?" Nathan wondered, taking out the key which he had received. Raising it to the lock on the Moon door, he pushed it in and turned it counterclockwise. It worked perfectly, and he pushed the door open.

"Well...looks like we found my room, at least," Nathan murmured, turning around to face the girls. "Hey...you guys know which of these--" he held up the Moon card for them to see. "--you have, right?"

Sherry watched the reaction to her question, taking in as much information as possible as Samuel attempted to answer her, though from the look of his skin tone and eyes she could make out minor inner terminal and possibly shock but at what she was not sure, picking up on those type of emotions could be quite tricky, however whatever he was experiencing did not seem to hinder his response as his composure he seemed so proud of returned before he began speaking.

His answers were riddled with pauses, the reason for which she found herself curious about. Surprisingly the two young men had managed to catch her interest repeatably with their interaction, behaviour and inner terminal.

"Well, some people just don't work like that. It seems as though The Devil and I fit into that category of people who have other means of... Ridding the distaste from relationships they have with other people.", Sherry listened carefully but found herself vaguely disappointed because it would seem that the boy was not telling the truth, especially considering Mr Sins immediate response following Mr. Livingston answer.

They were not ridding their distaste for each other, and in fact seemed to be doing the exact opposite if the way Mr. Sin blocked Mr. Livingston's entrance into the room along with his comment, the glare and the sudden slamming of the door in the other man's face. The noise made Sherry jump as her view of Mr. Livingston was cut off and she was forced to turn her gaze to the burning hatred of the Italian.

'Interesting, it would appear I have upset him. Not particularly surprising', she thought to herself as he began his little rant. It was not anything new and she found herself bored listening to the same thing everyone always criticised her of, if it had been anything besides her manners then she might of decided to pay attention... or at least put more effort into remembering what her senses inevitably picked up, turning her head to look out the window as his words went in one ear and out the other.

Once he had finally quietened down, she turned her cold gaze back to watch him for a moment. "Are you quite finished Mr. Sin? I am fully aware of my blunt questions, however it is not my problem if you take offence.", she sighed once more, the disappointment seeping through her as she made her way towards the door.

So Predictable.

"Threats bore me Mr. Sin, I request you refrain from them in the future and think of a less predictable way of intimidation. I still find myself curious about your previous problems, however I can see that trying to get the answers I desire from you would prove tedious and particularly unpleasant.", Moving towards the closed door, she glanced back over her shoulder one last time at the other, "Goodnight Mr. Sin.", with that Sherry opened the door and walked out into the corridor.

Walking down the corridor, she couldn't help but raise her eyebrow slightly when she caught sight of Mr. Livingston leaning against the wall. Approaching him, she stood just in front of him and looked up at his closed eyes, blinking twice at his cool demeanour before opening her mouth.

"What is it you require from me Mr. Livingston? Try as I might, I am unable to figure out what it is you desire from me.", she paused briefly and thought back to the lecture she was given less then a few seconds ago and quickly tacked on a forced smile, "If I may be so rude.".

Her eyes filled with mirth for a second as she thought of what her nanny would say had she just heard her, then it was gone and she was watching the boy with her piercing gaze once more.

~Samuel J. Livingston~

Samuel heard the door open and close again, which was quickly followed by footsteps headed in his direction. He felt as though he wanted to laugh out loud in triumph, but he remained calm. In his mind, time felt as though it had slowed tenfold; he could imagine the gears turning extremely slowly in a clock he had put together in his thoughts. Every second was crucial.

He knew based on the tone of the taps that the shoes made every time they contacted the floor, as well as the pacing of said shoes, that it was Sherry approaching him. Samuel had succeeded after all, despite the encounter with The Devil.

"What is it you require from me Mr. Livingston? Try as I might, I am unable to figure out what it is you desire from me."

She paused. It was even better for Samuel that she didn't understand his motives.

"If I may be so rude."

He slowly opened his eyes. The petite girl was looking up at him with a forced smile. After a moment, he gave off a friendly expression and spoke.

"It's okay, you're not being rude. I've actually wanted to speak with you ever since we met in the dining hall. It was a bit disappointing that you didn't acknowledge me there, but it's okay; you don't have to apologize."

Samuel stood up straight, putting his hands into his jacket pockets, keeping his gaze locked onto Sherry's eyes before continuing.

"I've noticed many oddities about this place, which is making me think that there is an ulterior motive for us coming in the first place.

"There are multiple reasons as to why I think that this place has more to it than it lets on. The first is the abundance of cameras. I counted four coming from the front entrance of the building to the dining hall. Considering the size of the building, I'd estimate that about 25 to 30 cameras are littered throughout the campus.

"The second is the fact that there is nothing nowhere commemorating or acknowledging past students that have attended this place. No signs, no pictures, no words describing the past classes. This is the 'shakiest' out of all of my reasons, since I simply haven't seen the entire campus yet.

"The third and final reason, and the strongest out of them all, is the fact that we have these."
Samuel held up his Tarot card, Strength, with his index and middle fingers clamping the card at the bottom and to the center, keeping it positioned in the air.

"Unless the person or thing who assigned the Tarot cards had the most perfect day of their life at the time, there's no way they'd be able to know unless they had prior knowledge of our personalities and capabilities.

"Why did I tell you all of this? It's because I think you and I can team up and get to the bottom of this mystery. So what do you say?"

They were walking in a group now, the three of them. All was quiet at first, then Nathan felt it necessary to make conversation. Chess was perfectly alright with the silence, she found that at times silence was appropriate. Obviously not everyone felt the same way, but then again Chess was very odd. "They could have done a lot of things differently." Chess agreed, wishing that the school would have taken a different approach to the introduction. It was nice of them to do that whole video thing and all but what they really needed were maps or at the very least signs to point them in the right direction. Even the worst of schools had some sort of directory in the front or a staff member that could help a lost student locate a classroom.

"So you've never gone to school?" Chess turned to Cassandra, eyeing the older girl curiously. She knew that there were unfortunate circumstances where children did not have the opportunity to attend school. However, how did one get into a high school if they had no formal primary school education? "Were you perhaps, home schooled?" Chess asked, then quickly added, "You don't have to answer if you don't want to. I'm just curious." Chess herself had a rather unorthodox schooling due to the fact that she had quite often been sick and had attended school via Skype or would simply go to the little school room in the hospital rather than tune into her classroom.

It was then that they arrived at the dorms. Chess pulled out the card from her bag, The Empress, it read with a sort of impressionist take on an Empress. She held the card up to a door with a matching title and heard the lock click. Oh, so this must be her room then. Chess pushed the door open and glanced inside; her bags were there, waiting beside the bed. It was quite a spacious place and Chess could tell that once she unpacked and hung all of her pictures up she was going to like it. For now though it felt a bit lonely.

Within your next posts please finish up whatever you're doing currently so that we may time-skip to the first day of class. Classes begin at 8AM and everyone has the same schedule, which basically looks like a regular school schedule. Maths, English, Chemistry, what have you. Nothing out of the ordinary, for this unordinary school.

What the students are unaware of, though, is when they get to this first class of the day, they're being tested. It's a simple test, really. Just seeing how they all behave in a 'controlled' environment, one where they can't just get up and walk away. It's homeroom, let's get a little rowdy, shall we?

On a completely unrelated subject, you swear when you headed up to the dorms last night that you went up two flights of stairs and made a few lefts and a right.. but this morning when you headed to the dining hall for breakfast, it was only one flight and two lefts... Perhaps you were just so tired you misremember?

Tristen had followed his partners "instructions" the majority of the week and had steered clear of him. Instead he occupied himself with books and some online courses he had been taking over the summer. Occasionally Louella would invite him to come join she and Astapora on some adventure or another, and once or twice he had gone, but his white haired twin had complained so much about him being a bore that he didn't bother going again. Green wasn't bad though, the little that he learned about her intrigued him greatly, and she was pretty easy on the eyes. He fortunately had not seen that Samuel thing around at all, but that was likely because Tristen hardly left his room.

He's relatively intrigued by the prospect of classes at the academy, until he gets his schedule. It looks like any other school schedule would, there was no special classes for them, nothing. And if Tristen knew anything about school, it was that class time was just social time. That was the whole reason he took classes online, that and most teachers couldn't keep up with the speed of which he learned. A perk of never forgetting anything, he supposes.

They're supposed to be in the classroom for eight, which is the beginning of study hall, a class most kids would have considered optional really. He wouldn't be surprised if half the kids weren't there, and pretty much counts on his sister and Green being part of that half. Louella wasn't a fan of early mornings. While Tristen wasn't either, his body always woke him up bright and early, mental alarm clocks and whatnot. It was annoying, yes, but it got him to class on time.

His outfit is practically identical to the one he wore on the first day, white button up and black dress pants, but there's small differences, none that really matter. It just makes the point that his closet doesn't vary very much, it's mostly business casual, as is the person in the clothes. He gets to class early but not early enough that he's the first person there, enough time to find a good seat but not so much that he would grow horribly bored by the time 'class' started. He drops his bag down on a seat in the back left of the room, nearer the middle than the corner, and pulls out his phone.

Louella loved her partner. Astapora was blunt, and a little terrifying at times, but she was insanely fun to be around. And possibly insane, which is absolutely fine too- she made no claims to normality herself. Asta had taken to calling her Einhorn, which was fine and all but she didn't understand it at first. It took two or three days for her to finally ask, but upon learning it simply meant, in essence, unicorn, she couldn't be more pleased with the name. They did explore the school quite a bit, making sure to steer clear of the little dog they had seen at dinner the first night. Louella learned rather quickly about Asta's fear of dogs, even if she didn't know why she was scared, she knew it was pretty serious, so she kept a lookout for the little thing. Even if she herself loved them, her friend was obviously more important.

The night before the first day of classes they stayed up so late that they both ended up passing out still in Asta's room. Which means that she woke up at seven forty five, pulled the fur blanket back up over her head, and then promptly remembered they had class. A quiet string of very unladylike words came flying out of her mouth as she stood and started trying to wake Asta up, only waiting until the other girl opened her eyes before she had taken off out of the room to head back to her own and get dressed.

Fortunately she'd had her outfit picked out for days now. Soon she returned back to Asta to drag the girl downstairs with her, or was it upstairs now?, and miraculously they made it to class with a few minutes to spare. Lou wasted no time in picking out her brother and making a beeline for him, tossing her new friend in the seat next to her twin and plopping herself down in the seat in front of Asta. "Brother, I trust you remember Astapora? Considering the way you could hardly take your eyes off her before, I'm gonna say the answer is yes." Her brother looked less than pleased with her, but she could care less. "Yes, I do recall her, Louella. It's quite nice to see you again Astapora." Lou made a face at her brother, who was unfairly good at playing nice, and though he'll deny it she's positive he made a face back before plastering that charming grin on his face. "I wonder when those two boys that made the scene at dinner will get here... The one with the white hair was quite cute!" Louella goes on to say to Asta, a little too loudly.

Sherry listened quietly as Mr. Livingston explained his conspiracy theories. Though it would appear he had made adequate observations of his surroundings, he had obviously chosen to look for something instead of keeping an impartial view, however she was not one to insult his methods.

"Mr. Livingston I would appear to me that though you have made accurate observations of this academy, you seemed to have lacked evidence for your suspicions.", Sherry cleared her throat slightly, shifting her weight and turned her gaze to one of the cameras situated at the end of the hall. It appeared to lack any form of microphone which would suggest why Mr. Livingston had been comfortable to discuss his theories with her in the open instead of in private.

"These oddities, as you so eloquently put it, might prove to be quite reasonable if one was to look without bias. Your first observation about the cameras is to be expected, there are an abundance of them. However, there are also an abundance of students who preformed badly in their psych evaluation. Though all students here show an incredible skill in a particular area, many are unstable or bordering on mental breakdown and therefore must be constantly observed, or else this school would not of been allowed to exist by law."

"Your second claim, as you said is weak, however if you assumption is correct it could also be safe to assume that there is no such ritual of past commemoration practised at this school possibly due to the students standings, requests or possible futures. Do not base your assumptions of this school on those you past attended, for they are clearly different and therefore will most likely preform differently."

"And finally, as you stated, these,", Sherry pulled out her own tarot of the star, sparing it a slight glance before placing it away, "are not perfectly assigned. There is irony of course, however I can tell you that the Tarot card of the star is to represent a joining of spiritual essence and the earth, if this were a perfect representation of me, then I would of had to have been a individual who had a firm standing in the real world with others and a heightened sense of anothers emotions, However, as you would agree, I am not this person."

"Considering the abilities of the students surrounding you and the obvious success of this man we call headmaster, it is clear he would also demonstrate extreme skills in certain areas.", raising her eyebrows at the boy, she turned and began to walk down the hall at an even pace, pausing however once she was only 10 feet away, "I find you interesting Mr. Livingston. However, I also believe you hold motivations that will cause you trouble one day, and until you are able to provide me sufficient evidence, one based on fact rather then belief, I am not interested in working with you. If you should decide to discuss with me further, you will find me either in my room, the library or the schools laboratories."

"Goodnight Mr. Livingston."

Sherry turned back and continued her way down the corridor to her room. The day had drawn to a close, and class would begin soon.

The arrival week had passed fairly quickly for the Green, spending most of that time exploring the island and manor with his new partner in mischief, he had grown very friendly with her over this time as she didn't seem to mind most of his habits for the most part. In his mind, he had tagged her as 'einhorn' or unicorn as a small nickname, another thing she didn't mind. He was just happy to have made a friend for once without the threat of being made fun of behind his back.

The night before classes were to start, they had stayed up in his room for a good chunk of the night ignoring the fact that they had classes and talked about their lives back home. Well, the green talked about some of what his home was like. He didn't feel like having her faun over his real family name. As much fun as he was having with this little white haired girl, he couldn't help but notice that his room was much larger than he assumed the manor should allow, even his bed that was more like a high set den that he needed to climb up to in a hole made into the corner of his room. Something that this mansion's architecture shouldn't have allowed. The room itself felt like a large luxury condo with the feel of a cabin in the woods and the bathroom was now his favorite room ever as the bathtub itself was built into the floor and was large enough to swim in. A gift from the gods he had said it was as he nearly fainted from the sight of it.

However, the morning of the start of classes had the green...less than excited. The shaking of his white haired companion woke him a tad later than she had hope and much too early for his tastes. Granted it was only an hour time difference from his home so he assumed everyone else's jet lag would have either been worse or passed by now. A known fact of Hakon was that he was very...unwelcoming in the early mornings. While Louella seemed very chipper and excited in the mornings as well as being prepared; Asta was sluggish and normally winged it when it came to clothing. Dragging himself out of his room in a long natural brown skirt with a few fur tails hanging off of his waist and a game of thrones t-shirt along with a set of green cuffs and collars with blue gemstones in them. As much as she didn't care that the shirt clashed with the skirt, let himself be dragged to class as he growled and groaned the entire way, his bag lazily slung over his shoulder, tumbler of tea being sipped upon and looking like he had just crawled out of bed on account of not bothering to brush his hair. With it as unkept as it looked, he looked slightly feral.

Asta let herself be plopped into the chair next to her einhorn's brother, a male she had met a few times but never got a bead on him. For atleast the second time in a two week period, she ignored his greeting and sniffed at him and pawed at him like a cat that was unfamiliar with him. "Grene." he simply said as he continued to sip on his tumbler mug as he listened to Lou wonder if the white haired boy was comming. A slight shiver went down his spine and a small hiss that had him bare his fangs slightly. "He gifes me a bad fibe, Einhorn. I vouldn't shpeak of zee Teufel or he vill kome sis vay. And I don't vant to deal viz zee oza one ezar. he murmured through his tea as he tapped on the desk with his claws. Then again at this hour, his capacity to be sociable was limited to say the very least.

~Samuel J. Livingston~

He couldn't believe Sherry's prowess; one by one, she had obliterated everything odd he had noticed. Then again, those reasons were exactly what she had labeled them in the beginning of her explanation; suspicions. Samuel himself didn't know enough about the school and it's secrets. However, he knew for a solid, absolute fact that his suspicions were correct in that there were ulterior motives for these teenagers from all around the world to meet up and do normal "core" studies. Those three words simply didn't seem to fit with the atmosphere of the school. He also felt correct that the headmaster had known about everyone attending long before the letters were sent to all of them.

Nevertheless, Samuel was unable to act on mere suspicions. He had to have solid evidence of paranormal or supernatural occurrences. And that meant waiting it out until something popped up.

He walked back to his own dorm. Although he was pretty tired from the events of the day, not to mention the large amount of jet lag weighing him down, he had already started thinking about how to come back and inch in closer to Sherry Hisakawa.

--------------------THROUGHOUT THE WEEK--------------------

Samuel lazily opened his eyes, rubbing the drowsiness out of his eyes with closed fists. He sat up first, allowing his mind to wake up for a minute before doing the same routine he did at home; go to the restroom, get dressed, clean himself up. He also ate a quick snack from the miniature fridge he had discovered from the night before.

He was in the middle of biting his snack, which was a cinnamon bun, when he suddenly froze. Shit, I completely forgot about that stupid partner system the headmaster had talked about... However, Samuel didn't forget about who his partner was; Hanako Asato, another petite girl that he had only glanced at in the dining hall last night. He didn't know her capabilities, which made him slightly curious.

Finally, he had gotten his schedule. He figured that he should simply keep an eye out for suspicious occurrences and be more reserved; based on the looks that people had given him, they didn't like him in his loudmouth, confident persona that he mostly used. Perhaps he would be able to even make an acquaintance or two in the week.

Most of the week flew by extremely fast, even for someone like Samuel. He made no contact with Hanako Asato, nor did he honestly care; he had only seen The Devil a couple times, but neither of them had interacted with each other. The biggest disappointment was not being able to even see Sherry at all. Not once. But it wasn't like it was the end of the world if he didn't reach back to her immediately; he could wait it out.

On the last day of the week, though, he had finally been able to get back in touch with Chess Belle, the same girl from the dining hall.

- Sherry Hisakawa -

The week had passed like every other in her life, except this time it was spent in a new location though this hardly changed much. Sherry had spent the first 2 days of her stay at the academy looking around the school and best configuring herself to its layout, though every now and then she would notice pactuliar changes which she could not of mistaken but that was the only probable explanation for said changes.

She limited her interaction with others over that week, preferring spending time alone with the academy's large literary selection as well as investigation the composition of chemicals made in ionised conditions, along with multiple other scientific queries which would plague her mind late at night. So much so, that she rarely got any sleep at all.
She did not see Mr. Livingston again that week, and only glimpsed other students in passing, though she failed to call upon her supposed partner for the week Mr. Inokire and felt, what her nanny would of been pleased to announce, was a vague sense of guilt though she quickly rid it from her mind.

Upon recieving her schedule for the first day of lessons, Sherry quickly noted that study hall, a curious first chose however she could imagine the period being used more as orriontation, if nothing else. It would surprise her if many attended but then considering the students who attended the academy she could not make this assumption just yet.

Deciding it was time to test her theory, she pulled on her School Unifom, of which she had 7 identical copied neatly lining the wardrobe. It was not particularly eye catching and most would consider her dull for choosing the same outfit every day despite uniform not being a requirement. Grabbing up her bag which contained a ideapad laptop and some light reading (Philosophical history of mathematics and applicational science), she popped her thick rimmed glasses on and her her lab coat, one she was often never without before making her way down the hall and to the room of her first period.

Upon entering she found herself face with three other students, a petite girl with Snow White hair, a boy with light brown hair and another boy with long green hair. The young girl and boy shared similar facial structure so were closely related, most like siblings, while the young genderfluid male, obvious by his chose in appearance and the way he was holding himself, shared a close bond to the Young girl. Sherry had not bothered with names when she had arrived at the dinning hall and now found herself regretting her decision, leaving only one solution. Interaction.

"Good afternoon, my name is Lady Sherry Hisakawa. I did not designate myself the task of taking in your names at the dinner last week and was wondering what they were?", she asked while standing in front of the small group of three. She had already sighted the seat nearest the window at the back of the room as her own, it would allow her to avoid the teachers queries so that she could continue with her own personal study rather then have to suffer repition of the professes words. However, maybe she would be lucky and this school would prove more proficient in hiring.

As little social interaction hakon has had with people in real life, he wasn't one to instantly shoot down someone who was only asking for a name in a polite manner. A tad robotic, but still had no harmful intention that he could really sense. As a matter of fact, the only time he remembered seeing her was at the arrival dinner and that was before he stuffed his face full of food due to hunger.

The green tilted his head to the side at her and like a cat meeting a person for the first time, started leaning his face toward her and seemed to be sniffing at her. Small chirping noises and purring were audible from him as he 'examined' the girl before leaning back and tilting his head again. "Angenehm.* I am called Astapora, but Asta is vine." he said, unsure if what he was saying was correct English to begin with. He smiled nervously, fangs in full view before going back to sipping his tea nervously and tapping the tune of 'I write sins not tragedies' with his claws on the desk. Hoping that there would be some kind of distraction soon.

Screams erupted from the courtyard of the gigantic mansion. If one got close to the origin of the terrified, pained shrieking, they would see a boy in a leopard hat, cradling a tiny girl with auburn pigtails.

Even though they were the sources of the noise, the girl had her hands over her ears, shrieking incomprehensibly. Her eyes were wide and staring up at the sky, which had decided to be cruel and shine with the clearest blue it ever had been. For his part, the boy was asking desperately what the matter was, unable to figure out the problem himself. A look of utter panic was frozen on his face, and tears were appearing in his eyes.

"...Chess...C-Chess...!" he wailed, completely overwhelmed. "Please...j-just tell me you're okay...c-can you hear me? It's Nathan! A-answer me, please!"

"...you're so immature, Nathan!"
"You really don't know how to treat girls...at all, do you?"
"We got called out for
your mistake...again. Get it right, moron!"
"Wait up, asshole! What are you rushing ahead for...?!"
"Evidently, you don't spend any time...or effort."
"It's all your fault, you...Look what your selfishness caused this time...!"

------------------------------------------------

August 10th, 2015
Petalida, Greek Islet

Slowly, as though he wasn't even sure he was all there, Nathan opened his eyes. The plain white ceiling of his room in the Gifted Academy was there to greet him, rather than an inconsiderately bright and clear sky, and the curtains were drawn, dimming the room.

The blanket was down to his waist and crumpled in several places. Pain and fatigue was all over his body like an animal. It was worst in his throat, which felt like a hedgehog had crawled through it. Evidently, he hadn't slept well last night at all.

Was it seriously just yesterday...? Nathan thought solemnly, staring up at the ceiling without moving. It already feels like years since...Chess.......left. The waterworks immediately sprange to life, and tears started to flow from the corners of his eyes. Despite getting incredibly sad many times before, he had very rarely cried, but now...

He could still remember it, even now...how he and Chess had been walking and chatting that afternoon. He had decided he should get some fresh air, since cooping yourself up in your room and playing video games the whole time wasn't very pleasant--especially if you kept thinking about all the bad qualities of yourself. It had been a very beautiful day out; the air was warm, and a gentle breeze flew through the air. Many flowers, of varying colors and shapes, bloomed around them as they walked through the courtyard. But then...

Clenching his teeth, Nathan couldn't help letting out an unusually loud sob. He didn't even care if it was "wimpy" or "childish" anymore; he just couldn't contain himself. Even though his mind tried to replay the entire scene, he managed to skip that particular part of his memory.

After a few minutes of that terrifying sight, Chess fainted, and Nathan desperately searched out people to help her. He didn't even know if she was breathing that whole time. He even tried CPR, not even caring how horrendous he was at it, but he had no idea if it helped. At last, he ran into a butler, who took Chess away and told Nathan she would be fine. But Nathan was not allowed to follow, and was left in a frightened, despairing state as he waited for news.

Late that evening, when Nathan was sitting outside of the entrance where Chess had handed him that water bottle, another servant arrived and quietly told him what had happened. She had suffered a sensory overload from entering the courtyard, but they had managed to get her to a hospital on the mainland in time to save her. However, no one knew when...or if...she would be back...

That means...it's all my fault...

The sound of knuckles on the door pierced the silence. "Mr. Alshane." It was a maid's voice. Great. "You are late for class. Please come down as soon as possible." After that, he heard the maid's footsteps as she strode briskly away from his room.

Oh, right...class starts today... Gingerly yet sluggishly, Nathan lifted himself out of bed, raising a hand to weakly wipe away the tears. As he shifted his weight off the bed and onto his feet, he almost immediately staggered to the ground. However, he managed to catch himself on the bed, and support himself enough to stand. It felt like he had no energy to do anything now, and was left with nothing but the feelings of worthlessness he had been carrying for years.

Picking up the same outfit which he had worn on the first day, he pulled on the shit, jacket and pants clumsily, leaving many wrinkles in each component of his ensemble. The full-body mirror on the wall showed that his hair was an utter mess, and even his leopard hat didn't manage to completely conceal it. Dark rings surrounded his eyes, and he looked as though he had aged quite a few years since last observing his reflection. And on top of it all, I have to deal with the other students...I don't think I can even manage a smile today... Rubbing his eyes, he tried his best to put on that "friendly expression," but it looked so hollow that he felt like crying all over again.

Walking on trembling legs across the room, he picked up a backpack and slung it over one shoulder, not bothering to check its contents. It felt like it weighed tons anyway. Stumbling to the door, he pulled it open and stepped out, closing the door behind him. He completely forgot to lock it.

But as he shuffled through the hallways, his throat felt as though it had been pierced by a knife. Instantly, Nathan buckled and let out several coughs, wincing. Looking down at the hand with which he had covered his mouth, he saw with relief that there was no blood or other residue on it. That was a good sign...for the moment, at least. I just hope...I can make it through the day...

By some dumb luck, he found the classroom where Study Hall was taking place soon afterward. Pushing the door open, he tried not to look too upset or tired as he made his way inside. Unfortunately, his condition wasn't getting any better. Spots appeared in his vision at times, and he even thought it completely blurred at various points. With his head pounding, Nathan finally couldn't keep the act any longer and stumbled to what he thought was an open desk, and bent down to sit...but in his daze, he had completely failed to realize that there was a certain girl with pale violet hair sitting in that chair.

The next moment, Nathan rebounded off of something and crashed to the floor, and combined with the headache, his entire perception swirled into chaos. There was nothing he could do but lie there, groaning weakly...

If it wasn't for the lack of activity and Hakon's own slight awareness of the room he was in, he wouldn't have noticed so the fallen leopard headed male that was walking toward Lou looking more like a sleep deprived zombie than an actual human being. He nearly bounded out of his chair and onto the desk beside him out of surprise, but instead bounded onto the floor on all fours next to the Leopard capped boy.

The green made that familiar, curious chirping noise again as he pawed like a curious lion cub at the groaning male on the floor in hopes for some sort of response. "Sie bitte.* You know it ist not gut to sleep on zee floor vithout proper pillows und varmth." he said, now starting to shake the boy and roll him over onto his back. He made a meowing like noise as he started to pace around him, never leaving his four legged mode of locomotion. Every now and again, he would poke a claw at him on his arm, side or what ever was in reach, hoping to get some sort of response out of him.

*Sie bitte. = Excuse me.

By creating Collectibles, you can reward your players with unique items that accentuate their character sheets.

Once an Item has been created, it can be spawned in the IC using /spawn Item Name (case-sensitive, as usual) — this can be followed with /take Item Name to retrieve the item into the current character's inventory.

Mobs
