Image✖ Full Name ✖
Belphagor Rhys Sin

✖ Nicknames ✖
Bel||This is what most people will just call him. As the uneducated members of society have issues pronouncing his full name.
Devil's Advocate||Some refer to him as this as he tends to manipulate and twist things. Some skip the advocate all together and call him The Devil himself. The anti-Christ, the human manifestation of the dark lord himself.
Rhys||His closer companions can call him by his middle name, it is not his birth title, however someone very dear to him gave it to him. He felt it to be fitting and as such he kept it. In fact, he will often be heard, his voice in a soft falsetto, speaking to himself. "Rhys, my silvery angel. You're my good boy."
✖ Age ✖
17

✖ Gender ✖
Male

✖ Sign ✖

_October 28th- birthday

✖ Role ✖

"No one interests me. I highly doubt it will happen but, stranger things have happened."

✖ Alignment✖
Chaotic Evil

✖ Face Claim ✖

✖ General Appearance ✖
Bel is tall and bony, scrawny all over, almost skeletal. He tends to wear a dark smile, as if he knows something bad is about to happen, as if he will be the one to cause it. He wears extravagant, flowing, clothing. Which always appears to be very expensive and perhaps pointless to most people. His hair is worn down, although sometimes he will tie it back, the silvery strands giving him a haunting appearance. His tired eyes are a deep red, like freshly spilled blood. They are droopy, like a dog, with the fierce intensity of a wolf on the hunt. This being said, he still gives off an air of youth, as if time has stopped for him.

✖ Noticeable Features ✖
He sticks out because of his stark contrasting colors, white hair, pale skin, and bloody eyes. Most people notice him right away. It doesn't help much that he always has his doll with him, a small blue doll with auburn hair and stitched features. He calls her "Ai."

✖ Gift ✖
Bel has been granted the gift of Persuasion, he can convince just about anyone to do just about anything he wishes. Perhaps it's the heart-shattering sorrow within him, or maybe it's the underlying insanity that motivates others to obey. Whatever the cause, it serves him quite well. Or at least, he believes it to.

✖ Hobbies|Habits ✖
。Biting his lip|"It's a nasty habit I seemed to have picked up, I bite my lip for numerous reasons, pleasure and pain are the main reasons however."Bel started biting himself to hide his voice, or to subdue other pains within him. He felt as if he could punish himself by biting himself, on occasion he drew blood. Now it's a turn on if others bite him, but he views it as punishment as well. Biting is a bit of a comfort for him now.
。Poetry|"Most of my poems are private, just silly things that I like to write."He began writing poetry to vent, after that he realized that writing poems helped him to distance himself from his troubles which is exactly what he wanted.
。Talks to himself|"In my defense, I'm speaking to Ai."He will change how his voice sounds and talk to himself, speaking as "Ai" his doll that was gifted to him as a child. Only since the incident has Ai spoke however. Bel has full conversations with Ai, she helps him to remain calm and she keeps him happy.
。Takes things|"I have a strange habit. . ."He is a kleptomaniac, he sees something he wants? He takes it. No matter what it is or what the consequences are for taking it. He tends to hoard it all, never getting rid of a thing. As a result, he will have rooms full of trinkets and such on display from all of his ventures. Now, he doesn't pile things carelessly, never piling, always displaying carefully. As if each and everything he took was the crown jewels.

✖ Personality ✖
Controlled☆Malicious☆Suave☆Finicky

Controlled||Bel is controlled, yes he has scary thoughts and urges to harm things, but his intellect reins him in and controls him. He has excellent control of his words and actions alike. He has studied people and people's reactions, and he mimics them depending on the situation. He has gotten quite good at fooling people and hiding his true emotions. Bel moves as if every tiny movement was planned out to the smallest detail. Malicious||Although he does control himself, his words and actions can sometimes come across as malicious, cruel or snide. He can show malice, intentionally harmful actions and, spiteful words. He especially harms himself in this way, but sometimes he will lash out and take his rage out on an innocent. Suave||All the studying of human emotion and language has made him into a very charming and smooth person to contend with. He seems to know precisely what to say, when to say it and even how to say it. He comes across as very likable when he wants to. Finicky||In all he does, he is very picky and tends to change his mind an awful lot. Whether it be food or people Bel is always very careful in what he picks and he's also very opinionated in the matter. He will argue and fight for his choice and once he gets it, he will probably want something else.

Like fire upon blood,
woe is dim-lit,
creeping over the horizon
of our turbulent sleep.

Hospital Mental Evaluation
Mr. Sin should not be allowed back into society. From what we have gathered about Mr. Sin, he is a sociopath and he has no regard for others feelings. Nor will he acknowledge any feelings or morals within him. He has shown us that after he harms someone physically or mentally he feels no remorse, or at least none that we can see or even detect using heart-rate monitors.
We repeat that Mr. Sin is NOT ready to re-enter society.

A computer monitor sits at the head of the table,
the screen black other than a thin white line
running horizontally across it. The line shakes
when the robotic voice sounds, a visual
representation of the 'voice'.

"Greetings, students. I am SW2K74, and I am your headmaster.
I know what you all must be thinking, how is a computer going to teach us anything?
I also know there's a few of you thinking about the amount of things you can
get away with, not having to worry about the headmaster rounding the corner.
For the latter, I should warn you there's cameras in nearly every room. Sorry kids.
As for the other, you shall find that out soon enough.
For now, I leave you with a list, and a banquet prepared by the finest chefs I could find.
Sleep well tonight little birds, for tonight is just the beginning.

The white line fades and up appears the list.

Tristen has always hated boats, Louella loves them. Coordinating vacations in the past had always been made difficult by this; take the jet for Tristen, or the yacht for Lou? This time they weren't given a choice, they couldn't fly to the islet, it was barely large enough to house the Gifted Mansion (not really, but it definitely didn't have a landing strip). Tristen's driver drove them from France to Pireas, and then they hopped on a boat using the two tickets that had been included in their invitation to the Academy. Tris hadn't been overly fond of the idea of going, he was well aware he was better than everyone else, he didn't know why going to some school in the middle of the Aegean Sea was going to make any difference. Lou, on the other hand, was thrilled at the prospect of getting away from the boarding school they'd been thus far attending, and as she wasn't permitted to go unless Tristen did as well... Well, that happened. So the six-hour boat ride was admittedly less than pleasant for him.

Their bags were taken at the door, presumably as everyone elses were, and brought up to their rooms. They were required to show their cards, in which Lou held up their joint card, The Lovers, and Tris made a comment in French under his breath about how they better not have to share a room. They were each given their respective keys then, and led off to another room. Odd as it was, they weren't permitted to go up to their dorms yet, and were instead instructed to take a seat at the long table in the dining hall and await further instructions. They both noticed the computer screen rather quickly, but when they turned around to ask about it, the maid was gone.

They sat across from each other, not too far from the head of the table, as per the name cards on their plates request. There were twelve chairs in all, not including the space the monitor was occupying at the head. Tristen silently examines everyone who walks through the door, all while maintaining a boring conversation with an excited Louella to mask the fact he was judging everyone. Though he was finally freed from her grasp when a green-haired girl took the seat next to his sister, and she began shyly introducing herself to the green.

Come time everyone had shuffled in and taken their seats, the lights dimmed and the voice spoke, and finally list showed up on the screen and the lights went back to full brightness in the room, Tristen is fairly positive he made a mistake in letting his sister convince him into coming here. Lou turned to her new green haired friend excitedly, while Tris let his gaze roam to the guy next to him. "Rook, I presume?"

Just in time for the waiters to come bustling in, carrying their feast.

[OOC: Just to make things easier, let's assume these name cards has all 'pairings' sitting next to each other, ^^.]

_________________________
If the green had known that he had to take a boat to this gods forsaken mansion, he would have become a hermit for the rest of his like. Yes. He. Or at least that was what he was for today. Hakon felt male for the day, but perfectly fine with the effeminate attire he was wearing. From the northern cost of Germany to a little islet in the middle of the Aegean sea cause a bit of an issue. The train ride from Gützkow to Athens, Greece was fine and all. In fact he enjoyed having a private cabin to himself and mostly lounged through the trek. It was the six hour boat ride to Petalida that made him want to die. The green was never good with boats, preferring to have both feet or hands and feet planted on solid ground. The disconnect between what he was seeing and feeling made him feel like he wanted to keel over the side of the boat the entire six hours. Needless to say that the green was never getting on a boat again so long as he could help it.

Once on land, and taking a bit of time to get reaquited with his limbs against solid ground, he showed his card tot he person taking his bags and was given the key to his room. The green found it odd that he wasn't allow to go to their rooms yet, in all honestly he was quite miffed about it for he wanted to sleep of the rest of the sea sickness he was still feeling; but the words 'dinning hall' struck a cord with the male as the thought of food being stuffed into his face made him all too happy to do as they said. However, he did note in the back of his mind how sad for him to be so easily manipulated by food of any kind after not eating for a couple hours. Something he had to work on.

Once settled into his seat, the green started to fiddle with the card that had sat on the plate denoting his place at the table. His claws making slight scratching noises on the textured paper. It read his full name, but most of the time he only gave out what ever name he felt like using for the time being and frankly it made it less confusing for anyone he would happen to get close to.

If he got close to anyone.

He chirped as he noticed the lavender haired girl attempting to get his attention and introduce herself. Hakon didn't say much, only tilting his head to the side in confusion and leaning close to her as if to sniff her before the computerized voice and dimming lights caught his attention again with a similar chirp and purring noise. Once the lights were back on, and the relief of whoever made the list to give his preferred name he turned back to the lavender girl who was now even more excited. He could almost feel it radiated off of her. "*Es ist a pleasure to meet you *Einhorn. Really! I am not zat exciting! Uh...Zat is iv it ist me zat you are excited about." he said, shyly. He gave her a nervous smile and clasped his hands together, showing the fangs that had only been put in a month ago, but looked as natural as if they had grown with him. Before he could even say anything further upon realizing that he didn't call her by name, but by imminent mental association the smell of food moved his head as the feast was arriving. The lioness was hungry from his travels and a very loud, very audible mix of a low growl and purring could be heard from the green as he watched the food being set down. Shifting his collar in impatience, a green one with blue sapphire studs and black ring in the front; a similar design to the cuffs on his wrists aside from them not having the ring on them, he tapped his two index fingers together as we watched them handle the food. A way to a lion's trust was his stomach at this moment, and his was going to make it evident was his trust was very much earned at this point.
*Es ist - 'It is'
*Einhorn - Unicorn lit. "one horn"

Petalida, Greek Islet

Standing in front of the door to the mansion, with a blue case hanging on a strap from his shoulder and a black suitcase sitting directly to his right, Nathan Alshane found he had to convince himself that yes, this wasn't a bizarre dream.

The flight from America to Greece had been dreadfully long and unusually turbulent, and he had been more than happy to step the plane. The boat ride from there to Petalida wasn't exactly fun, either, but he had enough battery life on his 3DS to survive the trip. And now, under a fading blue evening sky, here he was, standing in front of the "Gifted Academy"...

Still, the letter they sent me was so strange... Reaching into his pocket, Nathan took something out and held it up in front of the door, as if to obscure it from his vision. It was a card, depicting two wolves staring upward at the moon, which was making an unpleasant expression. Behind them, a scorpion crawled out of a puddle of water. At the top was marked "XVIII", and at the bottom, "THE MOON."

This strange card had been mailed to him, along with the letter saying he was invited here. Without really understanding anything, Nathan decided on a whim to attend this Academy, thinking he'd be better off here than in his hometown. Of course, anything's better than having to deal with...

"Is something wrong the matter, sir?"

With a startled yelp, Nathan jumped backwards before finding a butler standing there, looking at him with a slightly amused expression. "Huh? Oh...no, just, uh...s-spaced out for a bit," he quickly replied, moving to put his card back into his pocket.

The butler raised a hand in a "halt" gesture. "Don't put that away just yet, sir. If you would be so kind to show it to me first?" A bit more confused, Nathan held it out for the butler to see. "Ah, the Moon. Then, you must be...Mr. Nathan Alshane. Am I correct?"

"...yeah, it's me," Nathan replied. For some reason, it felt hard to answer any questions properly without stuttering. Man, this is not off to a good start... "Um...so what am I supposed to do?"

The butler raised his all-controlling hand again, and a maid walked over to meet them, looking as though she'd rather do something else. "She will escort you to the dining hall. You may leave your bags here; we shall take them to your new room for you."

"Wait...d-don't I get to see my new room?" Nathan asked, feeling a bit worried about this. "I mean, what if I can't find it later?"

"Oh, I'm sure you'll be able to find it easily," the butler chuckled. "Ah, that's right...here. This should be your key..." Nathan wasn't sure from where he pulled it, but he now saw a silver-colored key being held out in front of him.

Slowly taking the key and putting it into his jacket pocket, Nathan started to follow after the maid to the dining hall. He was already starting to prepare himself, thinking about how to go about introductions. I've got to think of something good real quick... At that point, he passed a very reflective vase, and looked at his own face in it. "And I see in my reflection that I have the dumbest hat ever," he muttered to himself, trying to force a smile on his face with the self-insult. "Yes!"

Nonetheless, as he was guided into the dining hall, he just couldn't feel any hint of happiness. The maid showed him where he was to sit at the long table--there was a card with his name on the plate--and Nathan pulled the chair away from the table and immediately threw himself into it in a slouching position, feeling immensely depressed from his attempts to cheer himself up.

His eyes snapped upwards again when the lights dimmed, to see the screen at the end of the table which began speaking to them in a digitized voice. What the hell is this...? Is the headmaster really fond of making jokes or something? I mean, come on, "SW2K74"...you gave us your name in the invitation you sent to us. What, are you trying to say you're actually some kind of secret agent or something?

Still, it was ever so slightly unsettling to be greeted by this rather than a real person. It was good that the food was brought out as soon as it finished speaking, because Nathan didn't want to devote any more thought to it. Just as he straightened up and reached out to snag some food with his fork, however, his eyes landed on the screen again. For some reason, a number of letters had appeared on the screen. His name was written up there, on the second line, right next to another one: Chess Belle.

Huh...? What's that about? he wondered, silently taking the chicken leg he was aiming for. Whatever...I guess I'll just enjoy the food for now.

"To say goodbye is to die a little." At least, that's how the saying goes. However, such was not true for one Rook Justitia. His decision to attend the Gifted Academy had not be his own, but rather his parents. They saw a chance to be rid of him and they took it without hesitation. The only member of his family reluctant about his departure was his younger sister, the pride of the family. He bore no animosity towards her, though he couldn't say he did not envy her. Even so, he did as was told and packed his things, including his sister's guitar which she had forced upon him despite his meager amount of practice.

Now, had he known about the distance he would be travelling, the lengths he would go, in order to attend this school, he may very well have put up more of a fight against his parents. First there was the plane ride from Tokyo, Japan over to the Athens International Airport. From there he had to take a taxi over to the port where he was boarded onto a ferry to the island where the Academy was situated; the middle of the Aegean Sea. The flight itself wasn't so bad. There was on-board wifi so his laptop could easily connect to the internet, allowing him to browse some pages. The cab ride was not to bad either. It was a quick ride, after all. However, the ferry ride was absolute terror. A boat ride into the middle of the sea with someone who was hydrophobic was not something that was a happy thought. Rook spent most of his time in his cabin, though that did not do much to relieve him of the boat's swaying.

Upon his arrival on the quaint island where the academy was built, he knew then of the absolute glory that was dirt. At his arrival to the doors of the academy, Rook came to a butler standing by the door. "Good evening, sir. Might I ask for your letter to confirm that you are indeed a student of the academy?" the butler had said. Rook didn't reply with words, but simply handed over the letter. The butler sifted through the letter, pulling out Rook's tarot card. It was a simple design of an old man with a staff holding up a lantern. Along the top were the words "The Hermit" along with the roman numerals for nine. The butler returned the items to Rook before gesturing over a maid. "Welcome to the academy, Mr. Justitia. Please leave your bags here and they will be delivered to your room and she will escort you to the dining room."

Rook felt quite uncomfortable with the idea of leaving his bags behind with the unknown man, especially since a plethora of it was equipment for his computer. Nonetheless, he did what he was told and left his bags at the doorstep and followed the maid towards the dining hall. "Not bad..." Rook muttered to himself, scanning the detail of the halls. Definite didn't shirk any work here.

Soon enough, he had entered the dining room, the maid seemingly vanished after showing him to his seat. His seat was beside a male who, to put it simply, felt like a threat. Of course, that could very well just be the result of Rook's lack of social contact. The lights dimmed and the screen towards the end of the room lit up and began its dialogue. "Not bad with the programming, I would say..." Rook mumbled under his breath. He didn't understand the whole alpha numeric name that was stated, but he figured it was probably just a model serial number.

Of course, it the first thing that struck him as a nuisance came after. The list showing pairs. Rook, the hermit that he is, was already against it. That being said, the message did say that they didn't necessarily have to spend time together.

"Rook, I presume?"

From the corner of his eye, Rook glanced towards the source of the voice. It was the slightly menacing male sitting beside him and he was watching him. Shifting uncomfortably in his seat, Rook glanced over at the other male's nameplate and, sure enough, that was his supposed pair. With a slight scowl on his face, Rook reached over and grabbed a pitcher from the table which was slowly being adorned with food and poured himself a glass of white milk. "Yeah. That's right." Rook replied, taking a sip from his glass of milk. "Look, I'm not gonna pretend that I fathom the idea of being all buddy-buddy with you so, if you would be ever so considerate, can you not stare at me with those beady eyes of yours?" Rook continued to take small sips from his glass while pulling out his phone, hoping that was enough to stop that conversation in it's tracks. Dealing with people first thing after dealing with the water was just too much for his body to handle.

Chess sat with her eyes closed, the sound of the ocean lapping against the sides of the boat causing little birds to dance in her vision and the taste of freshly squeezed lemons to slither across her tongue. To most people the ocean would taste like salt and sea air, maybe even sunscreen, but to Chess her palette was a little well... More unique. It wasn't an insult, it's just that most people nerves were not crossed wired. Most people could not see sounds and taste them as well, they would never know the joys of a rich coffee voice or how relaxing the color purple was. The horn on the water taxi began to beep and Chess jumped, nearly bumping her head on the roof. "Alright little lass, we're here." He said as he pulled into the dock and opened the door. Chess jumped out, grabbing her bags and thanking the driver.

The journey from London had been long and arduous and Chess was a bit late because the lift in her house had broken so she had a bit of trouble getting her bags down the stairs. Just as the female shouldered her bag with her art supplies a man and woman came to greet her, both dressed to the nines in old fashioned maid and butler attire. How amusing! Chess could only assume they were employees of the gifted program. What else would they be doing on an islet of the shores of Greece?

"Good afternoon Ms. Belle," Chess was in awe. How they they know it was her? Was she the last to arrive? "Might I see your card please?"

"Oh! Yes of course!" She placed her bag on the ground, rifling through the mess for a few seconds before withdrawing her hand and revealing the Empress card. The two nodded to teach other and the butler placed something on Chess's bags before asking the maid to lead Miss Belle to the dining hall. Chess followed eagerly, her eyes wide in awe of the place. She had been in castles before, Chess was often invited to have audiences with the Queen after her lung transplant because the story had made it's way around London, all the way to her cousins in Devon shire.

Chess was ushered inside what she assumed to be the dining hall. There was a long, rectangular table with twelve seats and place cards in front. Most everyone was there, with but a few seats left to be filled. The maid showed Chess to her plate, pulling out the chair and allowing Chess to sit down before pushing it back in. "Thank you," Chess said and nodded her head in appreciation. The woman merely backed away, leaving the dining room. Chess hung her bag on the back of the chair, turning over the place card in her hands to see the word Empress printed underneath. What did it mean? Chess wondered when the lights suddenly dimmed and a presentation was given. When the lights came back on, illuminating the hall once more, Chess noticed platters of food spread across the table.

Her stomach growled, she had skipped breakfast in order to catch the train to the airport after the whole broken lift fiasco and reached for the platter closest to her, suddenly feeling self conscious and only taking a little bit rather than what she really wanted. "Don't be a piggy Chess, you've only just gotten here." The girl murmured as she picked up her fork and dug in. How rude! Chess hadn't even introduced herself to the students sitting nearest her! She chewed quickly, swallowing just as fast and wiping her mouth on her napkin. The boy beside her didn't seem interested in making conversation, rather he was busy stuffing his mouth with a meat stick as big as his head. "How do you do?" Chess asked anyways, figuring a good first impression was the way to go.

"So, here I am." Hanako said out loud, looking upon the island in front of her. It was very beautiful, and also well kept. Hanako really liked that. As she walked down the path to the school, she tripped, and scraped her knee, her book that she had in her hand, and her suit case flying out in front of her. "Geez.." Hanako mumbled, getting up and grabbing her book and suitcase.

She looked at her knee. Every time she fell and hurt herself she wondered what is was like to feel hurt. Hanako shook that thought away and got up. The journey from here to Japan was tiring for her, and not to mention she almost never travels. She got here by boat, and just figured out she can get a little sea sick.

As soon as she got up, these people with fancy suits on came rushing to her. Hanako believed they were butlers? They took her stuff, and quietly started guiding her to her room. "Here we are M'lady." He said, smiling. "I just need to see your letter from the headmaster to let you in." He asked, and Hanako took out her letter from the back of her pocket and handed it to him. The Bulter carefully looked t it, while the others unpacked Hanakos belongings in the room.

"You may go in." He said, and Hanako nodded, walking into her room. It was very, VERY nice. There was a card beside a computer that had just talked to her. She looked at the card. 'The Fool', why'd she hae to bring that around with her? That'd kinda embarrassing. "Oh well." Hanako mumbled and took it.

After Hanako got out of the shower she got changed in a beautiful lacy dress. Hanako was in awe of this whole experience, and it was just the first day here. She did her hair into a nice up do, and put a tad bit of lip gloss on and smiled. "Time to go~!" Hanako chimed, walking out the room, and putting some shoes on. She started to walk to the dining room.

Hanako was overly surprised when she got there. Everything here was just so beautiful. Hanako saw her name place, and went to go sit there. 'The Fool', there it was again. She really hated that name, it made her sound like something shes not. She looked at the card beside her, 'Samuel'. She wondered who that was, the name sounded like a guys name. She looked at the food in front of her, she was kind of hungry.

She grabbed some bread buttered it, taking a big bite out of it. It tasted amazing, since she hasn't ate in forever. She poured some more things onto her plate, and tried a slimy looking thing. She made a face as soon as it touched her tongue. "It's snail, a delicacy around the world." A maid behind her said, and she nodded, swallowing the gross thing. She shivered and kept eating, waiting for the others to come.

Belphagor adjusted the top-hat he had on, it had been on straight. How silly. It was now at a jaunty angle, this was preferable. He scanned the streets before him, then sighing e looked on his shoulder to see his doll.

"Ai?" He asked softly.

"Yes Rhys?" A falsetto voice answered.

"Where am I?"

"On an island. Headed to your new school Rhys." Bel nodded and looked up ahead to see a building, some servants came rushing out to him, squawking like peacocks, no. Like chickens at the slaughter house. They mentioned something or rather about a card, and some letter. Bel simply showed them his letter and pressed past the three loud servants. They managed to catch up to him however, and proceeded to lead him up some stairs to a room.

"We have taken the liberty of putting all your belongings in here Mr. . . S-Sin is it?"

"Sì" Narrowing his eyes at the butler Bel quickly smiled at him. "Grazie." Looking at the bedside table he saw a card. The Devil. A pang shot through him. Almost of sadness. He pushed it aside and noticed the butlers were telling him that he needed to go eat with the others.

Others?

Bel made his way down into the grand area where everyone else, well everyone who was there, was eating. Glancing about he realized he was supposed to be seated by someone called Valentine? Yeah, Cassandra Valentine. Striding confidently, Ai on his shoulder he sat down at the place marked with his name. Looking to the seat next to him he thought briefly about what sort of woman this Cassandra Valentine would be. More importantly he wondered what the rest of the "Others" were like.

Glaring down at his plate Bel began to eat, his blood-red eyes scanning and judging everyone he could fixate them on. I'll need to gather intel on my fellows, maybe smooth-talking will work with this crowd.

The Island was beautiful, and the school even more so. Sherry stood alone before the impressive building, eyes blinking up into the midday sun as she soaked in and disregarded the information her hyperactive senses were delivering to her brain. Two bags sat at her feet where her families servants had left them before re boarding the ship she had arrived on and leaving.

Without bothering to pick them up, she could already tell that the building had servants who would do the job for her, taking her bags to her room without prompting, she began to walk down the path and towards the building. Any second now a butler or maid would appear to lead her to where she was expected, and if by magic, Sherry's ears picked up another pair soft footsteps of a young women (probably in her early 20s, wearing a multilayer skirt which was causing the slight swishing sound of fabric) swiftly approaching her.

Turning her head back over her shoulder, she offered a brief nod of acknowledgement to the maid, who smiled back in return. Once she came level to Sherry, she began to speak.

Good day Lady Sherry Hisakawa. I assume you're journey was pleasant?, she offered, drawing Sherry's piercing gaze to her face once more. The mask she wore was perfectly constructed, and not many would of been able to pick up on the slight tick above her eyebrows which would indicate the women's irritation at her... job presumably, or the perspiration gathering above her lip suggesting she had been outside in the heat most of the day, possibly guiding the other students.

"Quite. I presume I am one of the last few to arrive? Considering you appear to have already led quite a few of the other students down this path today and your desire for the day to end.", she responded in a monotone voice as she returned her eyes back to the path ahead.

There were other students, and considering the headteachers tone in the letter it would be safe to assume that he would like all the students to meet and interact, most likely location for this would be a dining room considering the time of day and social standing of the head.

"Correct milady, though there are still 4 more students to arrive. Please follow me to the dining room where you may become acquainted with your peers.", the maid offered in a polite and measured tone (Suggesting she had not cared for Sherry comments) before taking the lead. They continued for some time in silence, before approaching a large door, the dulled sound of cutlery on china and murmur of conversation telling Sherry's they had reached their destination. "Your bags have been taken to your room, have a nice evening milady.", the maid offered with a slight curtsey before moving away done the hallway and leaving Sherry alone.

Upon pushing the door open, she found herself looking at a long table with 12 sitting places set, and already 7 of these seats had been occupied. Each place was marked with a name, indicating who sat where. Moving towards her seat she spared little attention to the people occupying the room, already pretty aware of their life story without having to look.

Taking her seat, she turned her attention to her card, paused and blinked. The Star could be considered an ironic title to give the girl, not only where stars know to be used in the art of fortune telling but also existed above the world where they were able to observe the happening of humans with a objective view, however this irony was lost on the girl and she soon turned her attention to the card at the place next to her, absent for now, The Hierophant was the title above the boys name. Sherry quirked her eyebrow curiously before picking up the outer most fork and beginning her meal.

I don't even know which Greek Islet we're on anymore, but whatever, I'll still say it's Petalida because laziness.

Slouched in his chair and wearing incredibly dull shades of white, gray, black, and brown, Nathan realized every part of his appearance probably clashed horribly with his surroundings. But, well, that wasn't exactly something that could be helped anymore, was it?

Without looking at anyone else, he reached for another dish. That was the scary part, honestly--whenever he looked into other peoples' eyes, it always felt like they had bad intentions. At best, it seemed they wanted him to stop talking about them; at worst, they looked like they wanted to murder him. And that was only one feeling he got from talking with other people...

Abruptly, someone sitting to his left spoke up in a British accent, trying to strike up conversation with him. Oh, no. Nathan's body immediately froze up, still with food snagged on a fork and hovering a few inches from his plate. Crap, crap, crap, crap, crap, crap, crap, crap, what do I say to her, what do I say to her, what do I say to her...dammit, Nathan, think of something, think of something, come on, she's just being nice, this isn't hard!

He was very, VERY glad he had arranged his hair to hang over his left eye, thinking she wouldn't be able to tell what thoughts were going through his mind. Yeah..I'll try to act like a nice guy. She'll like that, right?...even though I'm probably not actually that nice anyway.

Resuming his hand motion and bringing the food to his plate, Nathan turned to look at her with a very small smile, hoping no part of his expression looked fake. "Oh, I'm, uh...I'm doing fine. How about you...?" Good work, you've already started stammering. Way to mess up within your first sentence, idiot.

The girl who had his attention right now was a bit shorter than Nathan himself, possessing auburn hair that was arranged in two pigtails which hung behind her head, reaching her shoulders. Then his eyes landed on the name card...Chess Belle. Wait, their names had appeared together on that screen after the "headmaster" was finished talking...

"Oh...so you're Chess, huh?" he asked, taking his own name card which had been on his plate and placing on the table so she could see. "I'm Nathan. Dunno how much you'll like being around me, but I'll try to act respawnsible."

Only after the words left his mouth did he consider the fact that making puns was probably not the best idea when trying to make new friends.

~Samuel J. Livingston~

August 1st, 2015

Samuel, having flown all the way from Holliday, Utah, to whatever Greek inslet that he was plopped down on, had caught a bit of jet lag, and his left ear felt as if it was half-deaf from the constant changes in air pressure. He attempted to clear it out by yawning, but to no avail.

He had only been standing in front of that mansion for a little over a minute, with his single orange duffel bag hanging from his shoulder by a wide, yet thin black strap, and yet his mind was already in motion. He noted the camera that was staring at him, and he faked what would seem to be a genuine smile and wave.

Although Samuel knew that there would be way more than one camera, it only sent a twitch of irritation through him. He muttered under his breath, "Now why would they need cameras for a school dedicated to the gifted..." He had only just finished his statement when he realized why, although he decided to not let it linger any longer, and pushed it to the back of his mind.

After taking in the sights, Samuel finally stepped forward and up to the main doors. Before he came to a total stop, he heard footsteps coming from behind him. He put on a friendly persona before turning around and smiling warmly to what appeared to be a butler.

"I can bring your belongings to your room. Your card and letter, please?" the butler asked.

In a flash, Samuel remembered the letter, as well as the card that came with it. "Sure, here you go."

"Please, make your way to the dining hall so that you may join the others."

"Uh, okay then." Samuel hoisted the duffel bag off of his shoulder and into the butler's waiting hands, walking past him and pulling the large doors open. He stepped inside, gazing around the entry room in mild awe. After a moment or two, he decided to finally make his way to the dining hall, noting every hall and room he came across. The layout was imperative to know, even if a little bit. If something interesting occurred and he was forced to book it, he'd be able to navigate throughout this foreign location.

At last, he came upon the dining hall, where most of the other gifted individuals were already seated. He found the plate with the card standing atop it saying "Samuel Livingston". He took his seat, with a petite girl with straight black hair sitting to his right, while another girl with blonde/orange hair who seemed like a bit of an airhead sat happily to his left.

The lights suddenly dimmed, and the monitor at the end of the table started speaking in a robotic voice. He really didn't pay attention; instead, he studied the appearance of the girls to his immediate flanks. He soon figured out that he'd have a mental and psychological rival unlike anything he'd ever seen before.

An airhead, that's how others always perceived her. Chess wasn't sure if it was due to her small size or bright smile, but she was always being underestimated. How she loved to surprise others with her knowledge! Chess could see that even now, despite the fact that she had proved herself and gotten into what was supposed to be one of the best schools in the world they were most probably doubting her presence. Chess never belonged anywhere, she never fit in and she wasn't sure why. The girl always did her best, but in the end she almost always stuck out like a sore thumb.

"Nathan, it's a pleasure to meet you." Chess smiled despite the bad pun, she could tell he was nervous and decided that she would simply put his worries at ease by giving him the pleasant expression she most always wore. His voice tasted gray, like a cloudy sky. "Despite what you might be thinking I'm not named for the game, rather I'm named for my great grandmother Charlesse . Chess was what her friends called her so my parents thought it would be cute to name me the same thing." It was a lie. Chess was actually named for the classic black and white checkered board game but others normally found this so odd that she had decided to revamp her naming story to something a bit more classical.

After all, Chess was such an uncommon name, especially for a girl and the fact that Chess could not actually play chess did not help her case any. The girl turned to her plate and took a bite, chewing slowly in order to savor the flavour of her food and maybe in order to avoid more conversation. She could tell that Nathan was not used to speaking to people, the exact opposite of her. While Chess had been at first rejected by her classmates, she had eventually been accepted by them and opened up to become the bubbly, loving girl she is today.

Chess realized there was another boy on her other side. Unlike Nathan though, he was tall and a bit... Scary looking. Chess did not enjoy the looks he was giving her, as though he were sizing up a meal and she swallowed hard, nearly choking on her bite of buttered bread. "How do you do?" There was no point in avoiding conversation as eventually she would have to speak to him. "My name is Chess, who might you be?" The girl inquired with a warm smile.

The journey down to Greece had certainly been rather strange for Cassandra, a sensations she couldn’t quite attune to though the confinement hadn’t particularly sat well with her after a while she’d managed. Now she leaned over the bars at the front of a boat as it pulled into the island dock in the shadow of a mansion, the novelty of surging across the water, her hair caught in the wind had brought a smile to her lips. And somehow not sent her blue baker boy hat flying across the deck.
Casting a quick glance up at the mansion she bent down and picked up her luggage; which consisted of a large square wooden box and a suitcase in addition to her backpack before descending onto solid ground once more. The case squeaked alongside her, it’s wheels a little stiff as she made her way towards the building itself, after a little while she twisted her arm slightly and hefted the wooden box over her shoulder to try and ease the pain of its weight.

Glancing over her shoulder she could see that the sun was beginning its slow decline towards the horizon, still a few hours away but the ripples of colour brought a smile to her lips. Turning back towards the steps at the sound of footsteps she was greeted by a couple of well-dressed people who looked to be servants up at the mansion; with this theory being cemented by their offers to take her belongings up to her room. She handed the suitcase over without much hesitation but kept her backpack and seemed unwilling to relinquish her box as they continued towards the open doors leading into the building. Relenting somewhat she unslung her backpack, unlocked and unzipped it so she could pull out her sketchbook, inside which was her Tarot card which she flashed them. Dropping the book and making sure the backpack was secure once again she put it back over her shoulder before lifting and gingerly passing over the box, making sure to memorise the man’s face should anything befoul it.

Watching her prized possessions vanish up a nearby stairway for a moment she almost failed to heed to gentle direction of an older man with a welcoming expression who led her towards a pair of double doors that appeared to open onto a dining hall already filled with a gaggle of others who she could only assume to be students. All the seats looked to be filled at first glance save one which the older gentleman who led her to the room points out to her and her initial assessment causes her to pull her hat down over her face a little in embarrassment as the realisation overcomes her that she was the last to arrive. Her turquoise headphones still dangled around her neck, and she resisted the urge to withdraw completely into the visual world of her art with music to blot out the audible world.

As she reached the empty chair she pulled off her leather jacket, slings her backpack under the table and quickly hiks her tattered blue jeans up a little and smoothing down her shirt before sitting down as she was certain they’d slipped down walking up the steps and settling in next to an odd boy on her left wearing a top hat. She glances over the name card in front of him. Belphagor Sin. Not the strangest, but certainly a contender. Her head tilted as she examines his features the way only an artist can. She smiles, leans forward to rest her elbows on the table before speaking.

“So, what’s your favourite sin then Mr Belphagor?”

As she finished her question she lowers her right arm flat onto the table with the palm open in one half of a handshake.

Glancing about the room Bel noticed a woman approaching him. She seemed to be some sort of artist, she seemed nice enough he supposed, yet something about her rubbed him the wrong way almost instantaneously. It was as if the sun had come out. My God did Bel hate the sun.

“So, what’s your favorite sin then Mr Belphagor?” Bel managed a smile, the sort of smile one makes when they taste something completely and utterly foul but don't wish to be rude.

"Ah, a comedian. How quaint." Ai almost chimed in to say "Murder" but Bel shushed the small doll sitting in his hands. Softy he spoke to the cloth toy. "Manners my love." Adjusting his necktie Bel turned on his charm and took her hand firmly, lifting it up to his lips gently kissing it. His crimson eyes never once leaving hers.

"My last name is truly unfortunate, I've thought of changing it to something lovely. Perhaps Valentine? Then again, my name is a legacy." Setting her hand down and placing Ai down lightly, he returned to make eye-contact with the woman.

"Cassandra. Incantevole.*" Bel smiled warmly, an expression he has mastered the fake for. He wondered what she thought of him, he was an odd sight to be sure. If he were to be honest with himself, the girl was quite lovely. There was no denying he found her a nice thing to look at.

"What silly card did you receive? I got The Devil. How childish, giving out tarot cards as invites." He managed a soft laugh as he maintained his unblinking visage of her eyes.

"Your eyes are magnificent." Bel stated as seriously as he could with a touch of longing. He found women enjoy being sought after. Better intel could be gathered if he gained her trust after all.

The sound of her voice caught the boy’s attention resulting in a a somewhat patronising retort to her words that almost caused her to withdraw instantly; his smile did not help matters with the way it failed to reach his eyes, making her wonder if it was truly seemed real. However when he lifted up a small doll she’d managed to miss hiding in his hands and whispered softly to it she reined in her impulses to flee as her interest was piqued. She had to supress a shudder when he took hold of her hand and kissed it in greeting, her sapphire orbs feeling trapped in the gaze of his literal sanguine eyes. Slipping her fingers out of his grasp while he continued in what she hoped didn’t reveal how his lips on her flesh had bothered her, yet despite that she couldn’t help but chuckle humourlessly at his suggestion of taking her name.

His last comment left her unsure for a moment, her so mentioned eyes searching his face for any similarity to the smile that had heralded the start of his words but instead had found honesty.

“Monsieur Diable, I have myself the honour of being the Chariot of our little gathering. And childish or no, the artwork is archaic.” As she spoke her French accent became more pronounced, adding a lyrical nature to her voice. “A legacy I can well imagine your name to be, but alas I have no such pedigree I’m afraid.”

She paused for a moment before finally responding to his comment about her eyes, still wary at least internally about his words. “It is my eye for detail that outshine is my true legacy, not my family nor my name nor even my magnificent eyes. But merci beaucoup.” Her tone continues from before but she places a hard emphasis on the complement she refuses to accept.

Fine, peer pressure wins. MILOS, Greek Islet

Surprisingly, Chess responded very well to Nathan, still smiling broadly. She didn't react negatively to the pun he slipped in out of habit, either. "Oh, is that so? Well, your parents had good tastes; your name rings quite nicely in the ears," Nathan remarked, not sure if he was trying to act cool or just being a loser again. Whatever. The point was, she didn't seem to mind him being around...that was the important thing. Yay, I can feel like I'm cool enough to have friends!

That self-insulting thought immediately grasped his feelings of happiness and yanked them back down to depressing territory. Don't forget, you're going to be here for a long time. You'd better figure out how to actually make her happy.

Though a loser like you can't figure that out about anyone, right?

Trying to force his smile back on his face, Nathan looked up to speak to Chess again--only to find she was talking with someone else, a taller boy with black hair. Oh... Slowly, Nathan turned away, telling himself Chess just was looking for friends or something. Another corner of his mind, however, was already trying to tell him that she had already lost interest in Nathan...

No, can't think like that...Chess doesn't seem like that kind of girl. Yeah...she's just getting the people around her to like her. I should follow suit...it's probably best to practice by talking to the person on my other side. Just gotta act like I'm nice, like I'm cool...like I don't have any flaws whatsoever.

Quickly, Nathan turned to his other side, only to be treated to something...rather disturbing. A girl with short, brown hair and turquoise headphones around her neck (and quite a nice body, but he'd probably get slapped to the moon if he ever made any sign of having noticed that) was sitting there, with a visibly uncomfortable look. The boy sitting next to her, with white hair, was kissing her hand, and...trying to whisper seductive words art her or something. Very out of Nathan's expertise.

Watching the girl withdraw her hand and retort in a melodic accent he was unfamiliar with, still looking clearly unhappy, Nathan wondered if he should speak up. It looks like I ended up eavesdropping on something bad...uh oh... Should he deliberately "steal her attention" so she wouldn't have to pay attention to that white-haired creeper? Or would he make things worse?

I can't do that, she'll probably think I'm just as bad as him... Nathan's mind assaulted itself relentlessly, demanding that he take action immediately--which outcome he chose didn't matter, as long as he moved quickly. No...I'm too awkward for her; she'll think I'm even worse... At the same time, his hair couldn't hide his expression from their view, so doing nothing would probably make him look just as bad.

Okay, fine... Mustering all the courage he could, Nathan cleared his throat. Then, hoping he wouldn't stammer too much, he addressed the girl. "Um, h-hey! Is something wrong? Y-you haven't taken any food, you know..."

It was an utterly pathetic way to start a conversation, but there was no helping that.

"Samuel, it tastes like Swiss cheese topped with strawberries." what a quaint American name with the perfect balance of sweet and savory. Chess smiled, "I'm from London," she replied as though it weren't obvious from her accent. "I'll keep that in mind thank you." He turned away then, to the girl on his other side who was sitting quietly minding her own business. Chess turned back to Nathan whom she had so rudely turned away from. Mrs. Belle would certainly be appalled at the display Chess had been putting on so far. Ignoring her peers, turning from one conversation to the other, stuffing herself with food. Although she had to admit it was some of the tastiest and exotic food Chess had ever tasted, the flavors dancing across her tongue in a harmony that made stars pop in her vision.

It reminded Chess of a day in school when her schoolmates had gathered around her and demanded she tried different foods blind folded, wanting to know what color and shape each one was. Chess had been terribly shy before and so the sudden bombardment of attention was awfully confusing and made her want to run away and cry, but it had also been one of the best day's of her life. It was the time when Chess's classmates finally accepted her and no longer shamed her for being different from them. Just because she had a bad pair of lungs.

Chess heard the conversation Nathan was attempting to strike up with the people beside him. His words were like bad violin strokes, squeaky and sour. It was obvious by the taste that he was quite nervous and so Chess leaned over to see if she could possibly help him avoid an embarrassing situation. "You should try whatever that is," Chess gestured with her fork. "It has a very delightful flavor and the-" she stopped herself, if she began to babble about the harmonious colors they would no doubt believe her to be crazy and avoid her. "The texture is exquisite," Chess finished.

"Ah Mr. Belphagor is it? I noticed you happened to use Italian. Da dove provengono da? If you don't mind my asking." She had noticed his name on the card on the table in front of him. French and Italian were thankfully two languages Chess could confidently say she had under her belt. Her mother was from Paris and the two would frequent the woman's old home quite often, taking weekend holidays in order to explore the past.

Da dove provengono da? = Where do you hail from?

Crinkling his brow slightly Bel wondered if the woman found him unnerving. Many people did sadly. The even more tragic event was she had politely refused his compliment. Odd. Don't women like compliments? Frowning his train of thought was interrupted by Cassandra's voice yet again.

“Monsieur Diable, I have myself the honour of being the Chariot of our little gathering. And childish or no, the artwork is archaic." Bel nodded in agreement.
“A legacy I can well imagine your name to be, but alas I have no such pedigree I’m afraid. Her French flowing accent was beautiful. It also complimented his Italian accent quite well.

"Ah, the Chariot. Lovely. Eye for detail you say?" Bel asked resting his head on his palm, his gaze locked onto her eyes, he felt as though his unwavering gaze might frighten her, but then again he thought maybe she appreciated his interest.
She would be a good ally to have in his deck. A good ally indeed.
"So, an artist are you dear?" Bel said slowly taking a sip from his drink and observing the woman's body language. He thought about attempting another contact, however he could tell the last one wasn't received well.

~Samuel J. Livingston~

Seeing that the petite girl sitting silently next to Samuel had not acknowledged him at all, he directed his attention to something a bit more interesting that was occurring at the table; a European male who sounded like an Italian with white hair trying to seduce another European female with a French accent. He was interested in seeing the reactions of both parties when one of them communicated with the other.

He was even more interested in intervening and making things exciting.

Having no feeling of embarrassment, Samuel stood up out of his chair and stretched, slightly arching the center of his spinal cord forward and bringing his arms back vertically behind his head, making them reach as high as he could before straightening and placing his hands into his jacket pockets. He could feel the knife that he always carried with him; the patterned black rubber grip with a bumpy backside and indents where the index, middle, and ring fingers rested for better control, the black, hard plastic ring that the pinky went into, and the sheath, which was also black and made of hard-plastic. He then gazed at both the French woman and the Italian man.

The instant he locked his eyes onto the Italian's body, Samuel immediately had a distaste for him. He had disliked the "art" of seduction for as long he could remember. When he was facing off against someone, Samuel liked for them to not use cheap tricks and strategies that would give him a disadvantage; he enjoyed watching his adversary the entire time he tormented them.

Samuel finally spoke up. "Hey, Italian, what do you think you're doing? If you were any smarter, you'd notice that she doesn't feel comforted by you. Look at her eyes and body. She looks like she's about to bolt out of the room out of pure fear because of what you're doing."

He paused before resuming, staring directly into his eyes when he caught the creep's attention, "I don't like when people like you try to hit on women, although it seems you don't have enough self-respect to resist doing that."

Inside, Samuel was smiling ear-to-ear with eyes wide, anxious of what the creepy Italian guy's move was going to be next. He couldn't wait.

Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni
The Devil pulls the strings which make us dance;
We find delight in the most loathsome things;
Some furtherance of Hell each new day brings,
And yet we feel no horror in that rank advance.

Belphagor was enjoying making the woman before him squirm involuntarily with his gaze. Yes, he had very easily realized she was disturbed by everything about him. Although it didn't stop him, as from experience he knew people would get used to his ways, they may even grow to long for his odd way of dealing with things. Many others did. Managing a soft laugh Bel covered his face with his hand as he shook from the quiet laughter. He could feel Ai's sewn on eyes judging him for treating this woman as such. Holding the doll up to his eyes Bel tilted his head and spoke in falsetto.

"I think you should apologize Rhys." Bel closed his mouth and nodded, like a defeated child.
"You've frightened her, go on." Taking a deep breath he set Ai onto his shoulder and ran his long fingers through the doll's worn yellow "hair." The doll looked as if sheer luck and willpower was the only thing holding it together. It was so faded and worn, the hair was falling out, one of the button eyes was very loose, and the mouth was almost completely gone.

Facing Cassandra, Bel took a deep breath, his crimson eyes twitching from side-to-side, he bit his lower lip. His hair falling over his face, but his eyes seemed to glow right through the white sheet of hair. He was hunched over kind of oddly, it was obvious something was wrong with him. Looking into her eyes again, the doll on his shoulder, something in his demeanor had changed. He seemed truly apologetic, maybe even depressed. His voice was a slithery whisper, his Italian accent thicker than before. Almost as if he had been suppressing it.

"Terribilmente spiacente*. . . Can you please forgive any actions that may have unnerved you?" Bel for the first time refused to look into her eyes, he knew how they would look. Judgmental.

She is judging you.

Before he could gather himself he was interrupted by a voice. It was foreign to both Bel and Ai. It came from across the way a bit, rather loudly. It seemed to berate Bel for using the art of "seduction" as it were. This man maybe wanted Bel to retreat, well honestly he wasn't sure what the man wanted. This was however exactly what the doctor ordered. Rising slowly, with subtle jerking movements as if he was a marionette on tangled strings. He smiled a sickening smile, the sort where you wonder if the Devil himself is truly among us. A smile that would send chills down a trained Marine's spine.

Excusing himself from the conversation with Cassandra, he strode over. Ai riding on his shoulder. He stood like a visage of the Grim Reaper, tall and slender before the man. His smile not wavering once. His presence changed drastically once he dropped the smile. A look of irritation, yet also of boredom flickered darkly across the boney figure's face.

"I don't believe we had been introduced. Nor, had we engaged in any sort of conversation. I'm afraid you've destroyed my chat with Signora Valentine, on top of that, my appetite is utterly spoiled."

~Samuel J. Livingston~

Samuel said nothing as he watched the Italian jerk up to his feet and smile maniacally. He was virtually unfazed, though; he knew that a creep like this would be erecting at least a few haunting images here and there. In fact, as the man strode over, Samuel donned a genuine grin. He was slightly perplexed, however, at the doll mounted onto the guy's shoulder, but it seemed like it had nothing to do with the current situation, so he paid no attention to it.

He listened to the man berate him for interrupting his chat with the French woman and for spoiling his appetite. His grin only turned more smug as the Italian completed his sentence.

It was a bold move on his part, sending the King advancing on the psychological game of chess that Samuel was playing with him, but he saw the kinks in the attack and dove right in.

Smiling even more, he pushed back, "The name's Samuel. I assume you're not familiar with the American accent, because that's exactly what my voice contains. I believe we have never spoken before because you've been trying to place that French girl over there-" he pointed at the girl the man had just spoken to- "under your control. You've been assigned the "The Devil" Tarot card, but even an ape can figure out that fact."

Samuel leaned in close to The Devil, his own eyes mere inches away from him. His voice was a mere whisper. "I can guess that you've been waiting for someone to swoop in and save the girl, and I proudly recommend shutting your childish mouth up. It's a shame that you're using your God-forsaken gift right out of the gate like this. I can tell you're a master at using it, which means that you've used it to torment countless other people to bring them under your control. You may think you're the stronger man here, but keep in mind that I sit on the throne, and me alone. Any attempts that you do to try to take it away from me will be obliterated. Because you see, you've started a fight that you'll never be able to escape from. No one can beat me at the art of deduction. No one."

Samuel leaned away from The Devil, returning to his original position. He shifted his gaze to the woman who was being fought over and read her expression. After a moment, he noticed that all of the other kids had looked up from what they were doing to watch the action. Perfect, he thought, smiling to himself mentally.
