Name: Nai Valentine
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Personality: Nai looks at the world as though nothing can go wrong. She is always happy and excited, commonly rushing into things. Nothing bad will ever happen. She ignores problems as though they donāt really exist. She tries to think of the world as being one happy place with sunshine and rainbows. She never talks about her grim past because there is no need to. She treats her life like a game, often insisting that she try things that are insanely dangerous. She doesnāt care if she gets hurt, it wonāt be real anyway. She sometimes acts as though she has lost her mind, running around and being generally insane. She is often describe as a laughy person, though why is unknown by some. It has been noticed that Nai doesnāt really laugh. The truth behind this is she has a poor sense of humor, taking jokes badly all the time. She hates to be teased or picked on, but she tries to cover that up. When she sees something that should make her sad, she does the only thing that she can to make it better for herself, laugh. She laughs at funerals, deaths, when her closest friend injures themselves. Why make yourself upset over nothing. She laughs to cover up how she really feels. This often makes people think that she is sadistic beyond belief. To laugh at others pain is freaky after all.
Behind the mask of happiness lies a girl in a cage. She canāt escape from her own guilt, something she was long forgiven for. She will bust out in tears at random points, whine. She needs someone to lean on, but canāt seem to find the right person. When things start truly bring up memories, or when thereās a big fire, this side of her will emerge. A weak child who just needs to be sheltered. She hates to be weak, which is why she tries so hard to cover up. Maybe it would be best if she didnāt though. Her therapist told her that if she would forgive herself, everything would go back to normal. She just replied there would be no normal without the other two members of her family.
As far as how Nai treats people, it all depends on how well you know her. If youāre a stranger, she may try to hide who she is a little from you. If you are an acquaintance, sheāll be her normal self. If youāre a friend, sheāll be a little crazier. If she trusts you with all her heart, she will be her true self. She has never really grown to trust anyone to the point of telling them about her past, except her therapist of course, but that was not a choice.

Biography: Naiās life was pretty normal when she was a child. She was born in Devon, England and lived there with her parents. She was the basic little kid, always wanting to do what she wanted. At the age of 10, she had to move. As she grew into her teenage years, she began to become a fan of something the Japanese people had written called āmanga.ā This āmangaā became her source of entertainment, and she would go to book stores, laying in the floor, and just read it. She became known as a ānerdā or a āfreakā at school, but luckily, she managed to fit in with other nerds and freaks. She lived the life of a normal teenager. Nothing seemed like a real problem that is until she hit 15.
One day, Nai went out shopping with her older sister, who had returned from college in order to help out with the family business over her break. Naiās dad ran a book store after all, and that is how Nai found her love in the first place. She and her older sister had picked up several things, but the main thing was a lighter. When they returned home, they lit the candles in their house and had dinner like usual. After dinner, it was Naiās job to blow out the candles before she went to sleep, seeing that she was a teenager and her parents knew she wouldnāt go to bed when they did. After everyone was asleep, Nai was up. She stayed awake for a long time, until she crashed playing on her computer. She awoke later that night to the smell of smoke. She had forgotten to blow out the candles, and now, her house was ablaze. She managed to get out of her room and tried to rush to the aid of her sister. When she got there, she saw that her door was up in flames. She attempted to open the burning door, only to burn her arm extensively. She tried to ram the door only to burn her entire shoulder. It was already too late. She left the burning inferno that was her house and ran outside. Her arm, neck, and hand had been burnt, but that didnāt seem to matter, her family was in there. Had any of them made it out?
Later in that week she found that her father had indeed made it out of the house. Unfortunately, her mother and sister hadnāt. She had made it out with several injures, her father was just fine. She tried to go on living her life like normal, but she could never get the feeling of guilt out of her head. It was her forgetfulness that started the fire. Could her father ever forgive her for that? She had to get therapy. When she was going off to college, everything seemed like it could be a fresh new start. Deep in her heart, she would never forgive herself, but why show it. She locked every last memory away and replaced it with happiness. After all, no one wants to see someone cry.
