Revan Thanatos

God of Punishment, Vengeance, Justice, Fear

0 · 1,819 views · located in Lorgaine

a character in “Gods in a New Age”, as played by Bromander Shepard

Description

Name: Revan Thanatos
Title/s: The Vengeful One, The Night Hunter, The Shadow of Justice
Creed: "There is no price too great for the obliteration of injustice, all those who seek to stand in my path will be swiftly cut down."
Gender: Male
Alignment: Lawful Neutral
Elder/New God: Revan is an Elder God, one of the first to open his immortal eyes on the world of Lorgaine. In those times things were simpler. With the advent of intelligent life he has been cast in an unending battle against the cruelty of the unjust.
Portfolios Governed: Punishment, Vengeance, Justice, Fear
Physical Description: Revan is often depicted as as a human male, somewhat aged yet still well within his prime physically. His eyes tend to glow a spectral green as the tattoo of a dragon on his arm glows with the same eerie hue. He is usually seen dark, light weight armor covered by a black cloak.

Image

When not in his true form Revan often takes the shape of a Bat, A Black Dragon, and a Black Wolf all with those iconic gleaming green eyes.

Realm/Home: Revan dwells in an astral plane with no name. There is only one way to enter his realm and that is through a pit of such darkness and despair none dare to enter it. This is of Revan's design to ensure only those of the truest resolve ever find the entrance to his realm. To venture through the pit is to find fear itself. An individuals greatest nightmares will be made real to them as the venture forth in the darkness. These spectral visions are no mere illusions however and you will be forced to fight against what you fear most if you seek to proceed. If you are victorious you will face the second trial. A chasm so deep the bottom cannot be seen. Along the walls are foot and hand holds only inches in length and width. The crevice must be traversed along the sides of the wall at your own peril. Those who think to outsmart the God of Vengeance by flying over or using magic to transport you to the other side will be rewarded by a dark hand that reaches up out of the depths of the chasm to pull you down into the darkness, a punishment for your hubris. If you survive the climb you will then find a massive iron door with depictions of bats emblazoned across it. You will be left to wait in the darkness until a beautiful woman will step out of the shadow. She will tempt with sight and sound before laying before you all the deeds of your life. If you have lived your life justly she will open the door for you, if you have not she will end your life at the edge of her sword. Should you pass all three trials you will finally be allowed admittance into Nemesis.

Image

Nemesis is the home of Revan, a realm of ice and snow that appears to be atop an otherworldly mountain. Within the structure itself it is warm and lit sparingly. This is the only place where Revan will rest, where he will finally let down his guard and enjoy the victories he's won against injustice. Usually however he spends his time here observing his agents on Lorgaine as they train or seek to strike at the heart of criminality.

Symbol:

Image

A Bat has become the symbol Revan is known by all across Lorgaine. His agents where some depiction of a bat on their person at all times, many even have tattoos of the winged night creature on their body.

"A creature of the night...fitting."

Personality: Revan is driven, unrelenting, cold, calculating and violent. He is willing to sacrifice anything in his pursuit of justice. If it means the salvation of the just he will pay any price. He is not a defender of the weak but an avenger of them. He is not there to protect the crying children, he is there to slit the throat of the one making them cry. If given the choice to allow an innocent to die or slay a killer he will choose taking the life of the killer hands down every time. He would feel that that sacrifice is well worth it. He would go so far as to even stab through the hostage to reach his target. To Revan the ends always justify the means.

"Judge me not on my methods but by what I seek to achieve..."

View of Mortals: Weak, cowardly, corruptible, greedy, unfit for the favor they are granted. All these things are ways in which Revan would describe mortals. Revan spends his days battling against the worst of their kind. The killers and thieves, rapists and psychos and everything in between. Despite their massive flaws Revan sees the value in the ones who think like he does. Champions to fight injustice are made through great loss and can be invaluable in the fight against injustice.

"Granting free will to mortals was a mistake."

List any Mortal Creations/Organizations:

The Children of The Bat are a group of highly trained assassins who serve Revan. They move through the darkness seeking out the criminals of Lorgaine in order to slide their knives between the ribs of the corrupt.

The Hall of Immortals, the ancient meeting place of the Gods. The ivory corridors and pristine pillars of it's ethereal construction were hauntingly empty as it awaited the first to arrive for the time had come. One thousand years had past since the last meeting of the gods and much had changed on Lorgaine. The mortals had spread to nearly every corner of the globe. The influence of their creators and patrons touching all with their blessings or damnation. The mortals themselves had evolved, changed, become wiser, more powerful and more intelligent. With their growth in intelligence and ambition a swell of innovation swept across the land. Massive steam ships now traversed the endless seas. Lightning rails connected all points of Lorgaine so one could board passage in the west and be in the east in a matter of days through a mixture of magic and technology. Over the ages the weapons of war have become more sophisticated. Muskets, clockwork rifles, cannons and explosives were fast becoming staples in the theater of war. Despite these innovations swords, shields and spears remained tried and true companions for the warrior as magic ever was the great equalizer.

The orcs continued their campaign of chaos and destruction. The elves incessantly preached the ways of light and order. The humans raced about seeking their fame, fortune and glory. Yet all could feel the power on the wind. The surge of immortal magic on the move. The gods were convening as they have done since Lorgaine's creation. Over a massive human city, made of stone it's populace looked up in fright at a enormous cloud of black wings flapping on the winds. The cloud of bats raced across the skies, looming over everything beneath it forebodingly yet much to the mortals relief it was gone as quickly as it had come. The being that gave shape to the cloud found it useful to take routes like this over large populaces for a specific reason. To let them know he was there, to let them know he was always watching.

The magnificent archway of The Hall of Immortals was quickly filled with the screeches and fluttering of hundreds upon hundreds of bats. Torches magically took light shedding warmth and radiance along the halls. Tapestry depicting the feats of the gods through the ages lined the walls. Rich, ornate furniture dotted the room as place settings of the finest foods and drinks magically formed in response to the coming of a guest. The Hall acted on it's own as always, a magic older than even the gods. The cloud of bats swirled into the main room and focused on the ground near the center of the room. The swirling cyclone of bats began to take shape and from the shifting mass of darkness a man stepped forth. Eyes wreathed in green light, terrifyingly magnificent black armor strapped to his well muscled body, a haunting black cloak covered The Vengeful One. The bats dissipated as Revan Thanatos took full form and glanced around the room. He breathed deep the familiar sweet scent of the Hall of Immortals and wrinkled his nose. It irritated him as it had every thousand years. He tensed his jaw as he reached out to take a goblet of goddly red wine and put the drought to his lips. The finest wine in creation, the likes of which mortals could not even imagine. Revan's gaze fell on the door as he casually sipped on his wine. He made his way to stand in one of the few dark corners and lean against the wall as he began to wonder.

"So... Who will be the first to arrive?"

Two kids layed on their backs with their arms crossed behind their heads and their palms acting as pillows fo their heads. The tall grass that surrounded them danced as their joyful giggles seemed to call the racing wind to dart through each individual blade of the field. They extended their arms up to the heavens and told one another what they thought each fluffy cloud that traversed the sky looked like.

"Oh what about...that one?!", the boy asked in hushed excitement to his sister next to him. His sister followed his finger to the specific cloud and examined it briefly before she exclaimed.

"That looks like a lady on a horse drawn chariot!.".

Her brother examined it further and after a bit he agreed and added.

"It even looks like it's moving!".

Their expected laughtet was halted however when they both saw this cloud chariot dart across the sky. It moved at such speed that if they had blinked, they would have missed it! Both of them turned to one another with eyes wide open and then they too darted towards their home just a little ways beyond the field of tall grass. Their faint and fading cries for their parents did not hide their awe stricken state nor their eagerness to tell them of what they had just seen.

Athena reached the hall in a flash. The golden chariot and the fine steed she used to get there all changed to a far more radiant gold then it seemed to split into numerous little ladies who all flew away in different directions. Athena waved a goodbye to her servants, the Valkyries, and pushed the ever ancient ,but never aging , doors of the Immortal Hall open. A loud choir of herald trumpets played a short but truimphant fanfare to announce the arrival of the War Goddess to any who might recede within as the tapestry changed to now depict the deeds of Athena.

"Hello!?", The Goddess called out as she sauntered her way to the center of the room. Nothing. Athena shrugged and placed her sword and helmet on the cushioned chair she claimed for her own. She then turned to the edible items on the table.

"Remember Athena... Leave some for the others...". She told herself as she proceeded to inspect the food, the items that past her thorough inspection advanced to her plate (which was her shield) , oblivious to the fact that she was not alone.

Another millennia . . . It damn well wasn't long enough!

Why couldn't it be ten millennium’s or a hundred? Thought Corallium in irritation as she sauntered down the large arched stone corridor of The Hall of Immortals, the blazing scones on the wall lighting her way. They were already lit, so some people must already be here.

Perfect! Not!

She continued down the hall at a leisurely pace, the clicking of her heels bouncing off the baron stone walls, in no rush to see her fellow Immortals. The long throw of her bright red sheer Saree draped over one shoulder trailed on the stone floor behind her like the train of a wedding gown whilst the diamonds that hung along her bare back twinkled in the dim light rivaling constellations in the night sky. She was feeling colorful today, dawning an actual color instead of her usual black.

It did little to brighten Coral mood however. She hated this time honored tradition. Why the devil did she have to be subjected to this pointless ritual. The times were changing. Hell! They were living in an Industrial Era now for the Moderators sake! Why couldn't they just send out a damn news letter or something and just be done with this otiose custom?! It was a waste of her time, that's what it was!

Corallium cared not for their boring discussions and languid speeches about old times and new changes and events that befell in the middle nor did she care to be introduced to the children or worse yet their damn overbearing gushing parents! That saw no fault in their little ones or were blind to the fact that their precious little babies were unruly, ugly little annoying pests!

Argh! The Moderator only knew how long she would be stuck here before she was allowed to take her leave. The thought was cut short as soon as the large arced and beautifully carved double doors that almost reached the gothic ceiling came into sight and opened of their own accord as Corallium came closer.

β€œHere we go again.”

She said to herself in frustration as she strutted into the ornate Hall. Giving little care or notice to the other occupants and majestic surroundings as Coral headed straight for the bountifully set table filled with the finest and most ostentatious foods and cuisine imaginable.

Food fit for The Gods indeed!

However, nowhere near as glamorous for The Goddess of Temptation herself; it impressed her little. Corallium grabbed a beautifully bejeweled golden grail full of red wine and took a sip. She would need a good drink, if she were to make it through this thing without dying of boredom.

Yet, her face contorted, cringing at the bland taste. Coral spat the liquid back into the grail and then threw the contents over her shoulder. Knowing the obnoxious fluid would disappear into thin air before it even hit the ground.

β€œIs this what passes for Godly Mead these day?!” Coral scoffed aloud not caring if anyone was there or not. β€œThis piss water?!”

Placing the empty Grail back onto the table, and not to gently at that. Corallium swirled her fingers over the glass and it slowly began to fill up with a bright green glowing liquid.

Her favorite . . . Absinthe . . . Truly the liquor of the Gods. Corallium took a long sip of the magical brew. The herbal, floral and the slightest bitter taste was cool and refreshing on her tongue.

β€œIf I must suffer this damn affair, they could at least provide half decent refreshments!” Coral complained as she swirled the contents of her drink in the golden cup . . .

And she was early! . . . That was just peachy . . .

It was time. Time to go and meet the rest of the Gods. Not exactly my idea of a wonderful afternoon, but required all the same. I close my tome, one containing recipes and formulas for ancient medicine, and send it fluttering in the large room of one of my workshops. It flaps it's covers like a bird and places itself ever so neatly on the shelf. Right in-between the old book of alchemy I occasionally use and the cookbook used by some famous chef that I procured. I pull on my nicer, loose black silk shirt that is made from the highest quality threads I could find. Yes, I could just alter my current form, godhood and all that, but I just feel so bogged down on this day, like always. The fact that so many other Gods were either completely insane or bloodthirsty, I have no love for seeing any of them more than I have to. I'd go, they'd ask "How many wars have taken place the last thousand years?" and when they get a ridiculous number, they won't try to change a thing. So, I was going just to get it over with. I stand outside the workshop, and gaze into the flowing sapphire space that surrounded The Archives. Such serenity. Perfect for studying or creating new things for the world. I spread my feeble arms, and in a cloud of shimmering mist, I take on the form of an owl. Such a wonderful creature, it is. I fly through the gateway into Lorgaine, emerging from a rocky crevice in a mountain.

As I fly over the land, I look to see what has become of this region. The exit out of my realm changed daily, and I don't usually pass through here. Bustling cities on the river, overflowing with all kinds of technology and advancements. I had to give the mortals credit, they most certainly got things done. Even though some of those things weren't exactly productive, like feuds or wars. I could see all the new vehicles and methods of transport, all of them I've seen, but still remarkable. I had created a chart that dictated where I believed technology would go and how it would change. Large portions ended up wrong, which didn't surprise me. I may be the God of Knowledge, but knowledge is a melting pot. I can stir and sift through it, find bits, and rearrange them to get a better understanding. However, I can't gaze into the pot, and will the bits to show me their place. That isn't my field, and frankly, I'm glad it isn't. My job would be a lot more dull if it was.

I ascend, flying higher and higher above the clouds until I see it. The Hall of Immortals. No progress would be made, we would squabble, and no one would learn. Or maybe we could change and all share ideas to achieve the correct course of action.

I give an amused scoff.

I flap my wings as I land in front of the door. I transform into my original form, and open the doors. As I gaze upon the tapestries in the hall, I'm reminded of what I have accomplished. I have given form and structure to mortal's idle thoughts. Put them into a tangible form. And let them go. It was their business to use the knowledge, I simply organize and keep it. My interests lie in what they will do with it in the future. Aside from the obvious struggles, they could do so much with their minds. Time would tell if they used them to advance or destroy.

I snap my fingers, willing my cane into existence before me. It was an old knotted cedar branch, with a still-burning candle on it's knotted, gnarled head. I grab it, and use it to support myself, walking down the corridor. Finally, I get to the main chamber. Looked like a few were already here. Who happened to be among my least favorites, save for Athena. I do admire her record keeping, but that respect is slight.

Corallium has access to knowledge I would never know, and although I dislike seeing the future, it is a secret all the same. A bitter little circle, that one. The woman was also a being of hedonism. I just drop it there, so I don't get too flustered.

And Revan...that one will be difficult to deal with. His ways of violence sicken me, and usually end with blood spilled everywhere. The Vengeful One surely couldn't think of any other ways to fight injustice.

I take a grail of the purest water there is. Alcohol clouds the mind, a state I have no interest in.

The Goddess of War, triumphant, beautiful, bold and brave strode in as golden trumpets heralded her arrival. The honorable war goddess should be as a friend to Revan, nay she has been for centuries yet with each passing year, each passing season her piety becomes less and less tolerable for the shadowy justice God. He receded into the shadows as his fellow immortal called out to see who else was in attendance. He made not a sound, was completely and utterly silent as he watched her. Her graceful movements full of purpose, she was not and has never been timid. A trait Revan rather admired in her. Her keen eyes had spotted arrows in flight, daggers in assassins hands and now musket balls sailing through the air yet the shadowy mass in the corner of the room was overlooked by the war goddess. His ability to remain out of sight of the most noble of his kind was something he always took solace in. He watched as Athena relented her search for others and instead reached out to the food available to her. A dark smirk etched it's way onto the edge of his mouth just as he heard her mutter a warning to herself to leave some food for the others.

The Temptress came next, Corallium Goddess of Fate. Revan's jaw tensed as his intense green eyes locked onto her as she strode into the room. Indignation pouring off her in waves, she hated these events. From the very first to this one now she toiled during the course of the gathering. She found them dull, tedious and useless. There was a time Revan would have agreed with her, then when he came to suspect his fellow immortals of wrong doing these friendly meetings were the perfect way to glean information over cups of wine and plates of food. A small hand full of deities, new and old had been investigated and punished by Revan Thanatos for their crimes. Acting against another immortal was never a popular option but it had to be done in the past cases, the vote had been unanimous in each case. Yet it was Revan's choice of punishment the garnered the horror of the other gods. Now they reside down below in the afterlife yet they went screaming, He who was Vengeance saw to that.

The last of the early arrivals was the damned scribe, the chronicler of the Gods, Librus. Revan never took a liking to the odd man, he had a way of looking at Revan as if he was studying some relic that made Revan's skin crawl. He grimaced in the darkness but relented to step into the light for the first time. Librus noticed him immediately and locked his intelligent gaze on Revan. The Shadow of Justice chose to ignore him for now and spoke, alerting Athena and Corallium to his presence, no doubt much to their surprise as they must have assumed they were the first to arrive.,

"Noble War Goddess, and Lady Fate... it has been too long. I see you've each already tasted the bounty the Hall offers, I recommend the crimson wine, it has a particularly rich bouquet."

He said in way of greeting as he set his now empty goblet on the table beside Athena. He was well aware his presence often unnerved most, even his fellow immortals. He was also well aware his reputation caused his fellows to look upon him unfavorably. His pension for invasive investigation into their lives searching for any signs of wrong doing granted him a nasty reputation among his fellow gods and goddesses. Fortunately for them he had little reason to investigate his fellows for the last three thousand years, however immortal memories are good and the rarely forget past trespasses. They may hate him for what he's done but he was only doing his duty, what he was made for. Punishing the unjust, as always.

Revan then turned to face Librus, a his gaze like daggers as he stared into those thick spectacles the Archivist wore.

"Librarian, I'm surprised you could pull yourself away from your books quick enough to get here so early. One would think you missed your fellow immortals."

Revan said in an icy greeting to the chronicler of the gods.

β€œNot nearly long enough.” Corallium replied, displeasure lacing her honeyed voice to the warm greeting of Revan Thanatos.

He was here early. Good. She had a bone to pick with him, the sooner she got it over with the quicker her escape from this whole wretched affair!

Coral rarely had to deal with The God of Vengeance, Punishment, Justice and Fear. In fact, she couldn't even think of a time she had uttered a single word to him. He was worth less then a greeting to her. But he might indeed get a sight more then that today.

β€œIn what way do you consider this swamp grim remotely rich?” Coral questioned frostily his second comment regarding the wine as she stirred the Absinthe in her Grail and turned away.

She had no greetings for Athena or no care for her opinion, but she did like to play with Cleric. He was always fun to tease and she needed the entertainment right now.

Corallium knew she set him off balance. It was rather adorable. She could truly say that out of all the idiots here that branded themselves Immortals, Coral disliked Librus the least. She could just about stand him.

"Librarian, I'm surprised you could pull yourself away from your books quick enough to get here so early. One would think you missed your fellow immortals." The God of Vengeance addressed the Librarian coldly.

A wicked smile crept onto Corallium's lips as she circled the Librarian. Slowly . . . Purposefully. It had been a long while that she had delved into his future; a couple of Millennia's at least. It was always rather colorful and interesting. Wonder what we shall find today . . .

Corallium reached out and brushed her delicate fingertips against his clothed back as she continued to move around him. A host of possibilities sped forward in her minds eye, like travelling at a breathtaking speed in one of those new locomotives.

The calculated smile widened as she felt Librus flinch at her touch as she stopped to face the two men. Her grin held in place as she took a sip of the potent green alcohol in her cup.

β€œYou should be nicer to our friend here, my Lord Justice.” Corallium teased Revan Thanatos while her gaze was locked on the Scribe. β€œDo you not see? He holds many of the answers you do not even know you seek.” Coral chuckled softly. β€œAn adventure awaits you Librus, away from the safe bosom of your books . . . But be you brave enough to dare risk it?” She questioned with a playful wink. β€œNot that it matters then again,” She added off handedly with a wave of her wrist β€œwhether you be or not. When the end is set, that path which you refuse to walk along through your own ignorance, Fate forces you to take anyway . . . Be the ends good or bad . . .”

Who besides her knew whether she was telling the truth or not . . .

What devilish fun!

Corallium riddled taking another drawn out sip on the Absinthe . . . Hopefully she would be well in her cups and tipsy enough to not have to endure this whole affair conscious or remotely lucidly, well before it was all underway.

Yet, she would be keeping a very watchful eye of Librus . . .

Indeed . . .

Three cloaked and hooded figures were walking purposefully down the intricately carved and ornate corridor of the Hall of Immortals, its peaceful tranquillity somewhat disturbed by the slightly guttural growl of the right figure. Two pin-pricks of blue light flared from the unfathomable depths of the cowl as it spoke.

"I don't see why I had to come, I'd have rather stayed. There is much to be done."

"Brother, there is always much to be done. There will never come a time when this is not the case. Now be silent." The left figure responded, clearly irritated. Her voice soft and sweet, yet with a strong power behind her words; like a sword wrapped in silk.

"We are here because our presence has been requested and I've decided we should all make an appearance." The middle figure spoke, his majestic voice, usually rather cold and detached now carried with it a hint of discord due to his siblings arguing as it raised a gauntleted hand in the their direction to silence them.

"Very well Kelmor, but I'm still not exactly welcome here. I mean well, none of us is. We make them 'uneasy' do we not?" His head moved slight as he chuckled darkly, his pale features and sharp pearly teeth visible for a moment beneath the hood.

"Menoth, we are welcome because we are kin. The others and ourselves. They may feel a slight... Distance from us because we govern the path between the living and the dead, and knowledge that even we can pass from this existence to nothingness or worse is unsettling, as you say." She paused and turned to look past Kelmor to where her other brother stood, before continuing. "I know you take pleasure in their discomfort as you do from all living creatures but please be civil with them." Her last few words came out as almost a snarl as she spoke. Looking back towards their destination she carefully lowered her hood and shook her head slight to loosen her short hair before straightening the shoulder straps of her armour beneath the cloak, before returning her cool blue eyes to fix hopelessly towards Menoth.

"I yeild, I yield!" he chuckled darkly, taking a few hurried steps further up the corridor, his arms raised with his palms facing outward at head height. "So... Kelmor, who else do you think will make it?" He asked as he too lowered his hood, revealing pale alabaster-esque skin and peircing red eyes which contrasted against his smooth raven black combed hair.

"In all honesty brother? I have no idea. I would suspect that all of us should, since the summons went out to everyone of our kin. And since none them have past our doors since the last conclave was called so there is no reason for them not to attend."

"Unless they'd rather be elsewhere..." He grumbled, as he folded his arms grumpily.

In responce to this Indris rounded on her brother as the corridor filled with a gust of icy wind, accompanied with the howl of damned souls. His hood fell as the wind battered them both, his cold grey eyes locked on his brothers

"Enough Menoth! Quit this incessant whining, we are guests in this hall and I expect a little decorum from you."

Before the darker of the two could respond a hand firmly rested on both his shoulder and that of his sister. They both turned to see that the wind had lowered their elder siblings hood as well as his cold grey eyes stared despondently at the pair of them.

"Still your tempers, please." He said before sweeping past them and laying the fingers of his right hand against the intricately carved doors. "After all, we'll have more cause for discord inside than our own issues." He finished as the doors parted to admit the three into the Hall.

Arabella got off her Pegasus and gave it an apple to nibble on while she was at her meeting. She fixed her hair and neatened out her dress. 'Great. I'm probably the last one...as usual.' She rolled her eyes and sighed. 'I am a very busy person. I'm sure the others will understand.' She wanted to run down the hall but she could never do such a thing in her current attire. She walked in a leisurely and calm pace. Her shoes made clicking noises throughout the long corridors. "Damn it, I hope I remember where this meeting room is. It's been so long since I've been here" She jumped hearing her voice echoing throughout the halls.

Arabella made her way down the long never ending hallway and finally she sighed as she entered the room of the many talented Gods and Goddesses. 'I wonder whom shall I speak with first.' She thought to herself curiously. She bit her lip and walked slowly to her seat where she took her goblet of mead and took tentative sips of it. She coughed a bit at its strong taste almost burning her throat as it went down. Arabella cleared her throat and turned her attention to the other Gods and Goddesses, but didn't quite know how to start a conversation with them so she remained quiet and jsut sipped her mead and nibbled on some grapes as she listened interestedly in on their conversations. Arabella wasn't much of a talker at these types of things. She was more of a business type Goddess, she thought that the matters of the realms were a bit too important to have her time wasted on such gatherings as these. She wasn't being arrogant she just needed to get back out into the land of Lorgaine to make sure everything was running smoothely.

"Revan. I would much rather be among my glorious collection, but I suppose I just had to come here for this little reunion." Librus says in a deeply sarcastic manner. There were very few among the Gods and Goddesses that he actually liked. To him, Revan was little more than a black snake. Once Corallium makes her way towards him, he knows what's about to happen. Once her hand touches his back, it happens.

The cold sweat.

The anxiety.

The tension.

In Librus' line of work, knowledge and the procurement of it had become more than his sphere of influence. He developed a sort of...addiction...to the discovery of new things and the rush it delivered. That lust still existed within him, but it had dulled to nothing as of late. Now that he was in Lady Fate's grasp, he felt it all come back, with a hideous feeling of withdrawal. She gazed into what lies past his mind, past his sight...but he knew not to take what she said at face value. The Temptress would probably get a buzz off of seeing him squirm. But all the same, Corallium knew things Librus didn't.

The anxiety boils away, and Librus composes himself.

"And it's wonderful to see you too, dear Corallium." Another dose of sarcasm, but this one heavily weakened. Librus turns his attention to Athena. She may be a woman of war, but Librus had to admit, she was honorable and vigilant, and fought for the good in all things. This gave his greeting to her a normal tone, no sarcasm or warmth. "I see you're doing well, Athena. I hope your records are well." Librus says with a nod in her direction. In his seat, he takes a piece of bread and begins eating small bites of it.

In all honesty, Librus felt weak and frail here. His form was old and brittle, everyone else so full of life. Well, minus Revan, he was just a bundle of knives and shadow. Librus contemplated taking on his youthful, imposing form. However, he knew it to be considered cowardly to not appear in your true form among the Immortals. Librus' goggles click and turn, adjusting. He pulls a small, aged book from his shirt pocket. It was a manifest of the largest Catalogers library. Librus thumbs through it, silently, awaiting the arrival of his more favored kin.

He stops once Arabella steps in. Now there was a Goddess he actually liked. The embodiment of innocence and compassion. Librus mostly enjoyed the "innocence" part, but the other parts were good as well. She wasn't a war-like person, and that he admired. "Ah, Arabella. How lovely of you to join us." Librus says with a wrinkled smile as he puts the manifest back in his pocket.

Athena was in good spirits when she got to the hall. Why she would have probably even given Corallium a proper, civil welcome had she not done as she always does at these meetings. The Goddess took Revan's advice and willed a goblet full of mead to her. Had she still been in her good temper she would have sampled the wine, savored it and have taken delight in it's divine taste. Instead she downed it in one gulp and sent the goblet back to where it came from, only to have it be replaced with another. Before long Athena had downed about five or so drinks. Luckily she could handle her mead and was still sober. A few more and she stopped then took the time to notice the deities around her.

First up was Revan. She was not fond of him and she did not know why. He was good guy with a very important job that meant he had her respect but she did not like not knowing where he was or what he was doing. His sudden appearance actually made her heart jump but this she did not let show in her outward appearance. The Goddess saw this as weakness and she did not favor the idea of her peers thinking her weak. Then there was the runt of liter, Corallium.

Athena gave an audible sigh of frustration and face palmed at what seemed like Coral's advances on Librus. And surely she wonders why we call her a Temptress... There was a time when Athena did make efforts to be civil with Coral and she even dared to attempt understanding the child. This was all long abandoned, the Goddess of Fate would not be changed by Athena and Athena would not try to.

Librus. He was not a God of War. She would even jest that he was barely a God but skin and bone blessed with great power. Still the fact remained Librus was very useful and respectful and this was why she respected him. His dedication to knowledge had aided her and it had greatly benefited the mortals. Their new assortment of instruments and war machines and the new mixtures they used to cure illnesses were all accomplishments that she appreciated. A good man wounded in battle was not doomed to die because of the advances the mortals had made( Not to mention his Archives possessed a great deal of literature on how to be organized).

"My records are well. If you would like I could send you the works covering how the Musket is slowly changing how battles are fought.". She replied and, having calmed a little, took a small sip from her wine.

Athena saw the approaching Trio and raised her cup to them then nodded. Her opinion on them was rather neutral. Given their fields of Sovereignty, she didn't think it fair to judge their characters. Life, Death, and Rebirth were all a part of a natural cycle that was necessary if Lorgaine was to sustain itself. Because of that Athena helped the best way she could, by not interfering in their work (this is proving to be very difficult as a Goddess of War and Order).

The Goddess of War and Order did not expect a smile to return so quickly to her face but it did and she owed to Arabella. Something about the Goddess of Love never failed to uplift her dampened spirits. Perhaps because it was love that added the finishing touching to all the stories the Lady of War adored and everytime she saw the Goddess of Love she was reminded of these stories.

Athena levitated and pushed her plate/shield out of her way, then did a simple flourish with her hand as she bowed.
"Lady Arabella. If I may, you look lovely as ever.". Athena complimented and returned to her seat. Her smile seemed glued to her face. The Goddess then finally begun to feast and like any warrior worth his platemail, she ate with her hands. In her mind she thought of those yet to arrive and wondered if they were going to make it.

A small town, bustling with life. Humans were everywhere especially the local Tavern, which was where Katergaris decided to stay for a while. He felt like he should be somewhere else but he just couldn't place his finger on it. Katergaris' thoughts were interrupted by a very attractive Human woman who entered the Tavern, she walked over and sat next to him at the bar ordering herself a drink. Katergaris' ever-smiling features turned their attention to her. "May I buy you that drink?" He asked kindly turning to the Barman and saying "Put in on my tab..." The Woman lifted her drink and smiled at the strange man, Katergaris' waved his hand and the drink changed colour slightly. The woman took a sip of the drink and fell to the floor retching and gagging. Katergaris wasn't exactly sure what he did to the drink but it was hilarious. The Trickster God fell to the floor laughing and rolling around, the smell of sewage pouring from the tankard the woman was drinking from.

Karergaris jumped up without warning and walked out of the Tavern. "Thanks Bill..." After the God had left and the Woman had recovered they both looked at eachother. "He doesn't have a tab.....And who's Bill?" The pair looked at eachother fuming. The immature God wandered the town yet again, looking for more trouble to get into. It was then he remembered where he had to be. Oh!...I knew I had to go somewhere today... He thought to himself as he willed his staff into existence, it fell to the ground completely up-right and stayed perfectly straight. The Jester lept on top on it, balancing on the smiling top.

Katergaris began to bounce slowly, the staff lifting with every bounce. The God continued to bounce and all of a sudden he was bouncing into the air using the staff like a pogo stick, the seemingly rigid staff bending in ways un-imaginable to Mortals. He arrived at the Hall of Immortals moments later. He bounced into the door, sliding slowly down it as it opened.

The sound of bells jingling as he walked, brought attention to his arrival. He always loved to make an entrance and he sure did. He entered the Hall by walking on the ceiling, examining all the Gods and he did.

First there was Revan Thanatos, The Jester didn't really mind him all too much but he was just too serious all the time and what was with all the black? It wasn't a funeral, no need to be wearing all the dark colours. The God of Justice was never really any trouble apart from the constant warnings about Katergaris' encounters with Mortals, what did he expect? Katergaris was the Trickster God.

Next there was Athena, yet another serious God, God of War and Order. One thing interested Katergaris about Athena though, that helmet she always wore. He wondered if you could make the plume into a hair-style. It would look pretty cool in his opinion but other then that Katergaris actually quite liked Athena. Infact Katergaris liked all the Gods, they may be a little serious but they were always eager participants in his tricks...Or were they victims? Katergaris shrugged off the thought and continued scanning the crowd.

Corallium drew his attention. She was pretty for sure but Katergaris wasn't exactly sure what she actually 'did', she lived in this big castle somewhere and had servants and stuff but apart from that he wasn't sure. She was the Goddess of Fate and the Temptress, Katergaris was tempted to do many things all the time, like he was right now.

The Jester landed on the table straight in the center, the table shook and the food and drink shuddered. "Hello everyone! It is I! Katergaris! How're my fellow Immortals doing on this wonderful day!?"

Arabella, Katergaris, The Triumvirate and Alahya were next to arrive. Arabella, Katergaris and Alahya were not Revan's favorite individuals. He harbored no ill will to them personally, it was merely that in which they governed that gave him pause. Take Alahya for example. Music and art were little more then distractions, not something a deity should devote themselves too for what power could there truly be in music, what knowledge could one glean from a painting? Katergaris was a Trickster through and through, not evil just devious. Revan saw him as little more than a nuisance at his worst and a joke at best. Despite this Katergaris was quite literally the only creature in existence who could amuse Revan, his eccentric torturing of criminals Revan has brought to him in the past always put a smile on his face. Then there was Arabella. Ideals such as love and beauty were vain wastes of time. Innocence was laughable for it did not exist. Revan Thantos had walked this world since Lorgain began and if there was one thing he's learned it was this, no one is innocent.

There was one new arrival who Revan was quite fond of or rather a group of new comers. The masters of the underworld, lords of the dead and tribunal of souls. Indris, Kelmor and Menoth, one of the select few Revan called friends. The illusive justice god had worked with these three for centuries and they have built quite the rapport. As the god of justice and punishment it was Revan job to act as judge jury and executioner to the all those living, mortal and immortal. The Triumvirate served a similar role to the leagues of the dead. The passed judgment on each and every soul that passed into the afterlife. Before their eyes the whole of someone life was layed bare and the culmination of your sins was set against you. Should you have led a life of wickedness or malcontent you would suffer for all of eternity. Should you have lived your life justly and with honor your immortal soul would be rewarded for all time. Oddly enough the two gods who had sent the most to the realm of the undead was Revan and his noble sister Athena. The golden child had nearly as much blood on her hands as he did yet their fellows rarely seemed to notice the bodies she had put into the ground. One look at Revan however and it was like they were staring at a murderer in the act. The sentiment aggravated him to no end.

The Justice Bringer made his way past his kin, ignoring those he saw as unimportant namely Arabella and Alahya. As he brushed past Katergaris and patted him on the shoulder briefly in greeting as he gave the Trickster a nod. His true attentions were on The Tirumvirate for it was before them that he stopped and gave proper greeting.

"Kelmor, Menoth, Indris. Good to see you three."

The greeting was warm, well as warm as one like Revan can be and earnest. He truly was happy to see the three masters of the dead. Ironically for the judges of the dead they were the only ones who did not judge Revan for his actions, for what he was forced to do. For that and for their understanding justice they were his only true friends. Revan leaned in as he folded his arms over his chest casually and whispered to them with a smirk.

"I wouldn't make it through another of these things without you lot."

Corallim was indignant with annoyance as Revan Thanatos walked away from her without so much as a word. She was sorely tempted to drag him back to her by her elusive powers.

They had a topic Coral was in great need to discuss. Yet, she supposed she could save her scolding words for him for later. It wasn't something she wished to discuss in front of all the other Immortals anyway. Although, this was exactly what these boring meetings were for. Coral did not subscribe to the general status quo. She did as she saw fit.

It would not bode well for him, either way. Her sharp gaze followed his path to The Triumvirate. The Goddess of Fate held somewhat a ungrudging regard for them, they all intertwined with her work. Life, Death, Rebirth. It was all nothing without Destiny leading the way.

Though it appeared to many Corallium did nothing in particular; her powers of cause and effect worked the whole universe unseen. Like the wind blowing a branch on a tree. One could not see the wind traverse but one could feel and see the branch move. She was an integral yet invisible part of the mechanics. Of course, she couldn't help but interfere sometimes, when the spoils of the ends were so delectable . . . But all was meant to be as it was. Or she'd be out of a job.

Sighing, Coral moved towards the table. Revan Thanatos would have to wait. She took a seat at the head of the table next to The Goddess of Love, Beauty & Innocence. Corallium felt Arabella recoil from her presence and move slightly away from her, closer to Athena. Coral knew she unsettled many of her kin. They feared the knowledge she could posses and hold over them with but the merest touch of their Aura.

She was not offended by Arabella's actions, it amused her to say the least.

β€œCome now, Lady Love.” Corallium turned and darkly teased the Goddess of all things good. β€œI know I haven't been innocent for a very long time now, but that was just rude.”

Her attention was diverted when the Jester landed in the center of the table.

"Hello everyone! It is I! Katergaris! How're my fellow Immortals doing on this wonderful day!?" He declared as if he needed an introduction.

There was noway in hell she would be touching a single item of food on that table now.

β€œJester.” Corallium said sultrily as she raised her glass to him in greeting and finished the little Absinthe left in her cup. β€œNow that you are here, at least I shan't die of boredom.”

The room was steadily beginning to fill up now at long last. Time to get this thing on the road . . .

β€œSeeing as most of us have been foolish enough to turn up,” Corallium addressed the whole room in a clear voice as sweet and deadly as Nightshade laced thickly in tedium and sarcasm as she relaxed back in her seat like a Queen on a Throne. β€œWhy don't we get this laborious affair started. After all, some of us have better things to do, like sticking needles in one's eyes.”

She smiled wickedly as the room hushed of all conversation and all eyes fell on her.

β€œOr at least, I hear it is mildly more pleasanter then this whole affair.”

Corallium teased with a flicker of her wrist.

"Let us begin . . ."

Finally, some decent Immortals were arriving. Librus was about to just give up and drink wine, so he wouldn't have to listen to the damned fools sober. Now that Alahya and Katergaris were here, things would look up. Librus very much enjoyed Alahya's works, and how they stimulated the mind to do greater things. It was good to have such a creative force in the world such as she.

"Hello, Alahya. It seems you're doing well. Good to see you." Librus said in warm greeting to her.

Katergaris, on the other hand, was just a Trickster, a master of entertainment at another's expense. Yes, it could get annoying and stupid, but it was entertaining. And to get through this, Librus would need entertainment.

"Jester. I do hope you've come up with new tricks since last time. Wouldn't want this meeting to be boring." He said in another formal greeting.

Librus hadn't noticed the Triumvirate enter the hall, but now that he did he wished he didn't. While he had no qualms with them personally, they were chummy with Revan. Indris and Kalmor were Librus' favorites, but Menoth was awfully dark. He may be the Scribe of the trio, but the darkness was there all the same.

Librus gave in finally and filled his cup with wine. Taking a sip, Librus sank back into his chair and awaited the what was left of the arrivals.

"Thrilled to be here, as usual Revan" His lips were closed and tightened in a thin smile after he spoke. Always one reluctant to leave his abode for anywhere else his tone easily conveyed his discomfort "I was rather pleased with the last soul you banished from the world above, what a devious little whelp he was. I've been having a lot of fun watching his mother give him a-" The rest of the sentence was cut off as Indris broke in, her eyes aflame as she glared towards her sibling.

"I'm sure none of us want to hear what dark delights you've put his quarry through dear brother" Her voice was slightly brittle for a moment with the false sweetness before she turned her attention to Revan, and in her much more normal tone spoke "A pleasure as always Revan, our duties have sometimes brought us together for fleeting moments but it has been too long since we were able to speak, or rather more than a simple greeting. I have a similar situation with Athena but she and her valkaryies are always in such a rush once the wounded have become the fallen."

"My dear sister is correct Revan, neither of us seem to have caught you except in fleeting moments. But then as we are all rather individualists it is expected for us to keep our own council, we however do not have much choice but to work in concert." His low rumbling voice echoing slightly as he directed towards the other two. "But I must say that the long walk mortals take into own judgement is not as feared by many as it once was, our priesthood appear to be continuing to serve their purpose well, and many lost souls who have taken the route of 'Undeath' rather than be part of the wheel." he paused for a moment as if the word sickened him.

"The suffering of the damned is my choice brother, as are my methods of enacting such." Menoth cut in, his irritation at being stuck here growing with every passing moment. "Coral is right, sticking a knife into the eye would be preferable... I've got a nice couple just perfect for it in fact."

"Yes brother, I'm sure you do." Indris said, her tone slightly dispoindent, after all there was little to be said about her siblings activities, since nothing would bother him for his duty was something he took to heart.

Kelmor shook his head slowly before turning back towards Revan "So what is this about?"

Revan turned to the sound of Corallium's voice as she adressed the group. Her voice coupled with her posture oozed sophistication and superiority. Her eyes drifted around the room like a queen looking at her court. Revan's eyebrow arched in curiousity at what an oddity this was. She was in now way superior to any here, nay they were all technically equals yet there she was, lording over them all confidently. Such sellf assurance was admirable. Kelmor echoed Lady Fate's desire to get the days events under way and Revan was inclined to agree.

"This is about what it has always been about dearest Kelmor, Lorgaine."

Revan said speaking up, adressing all in attendance. His eyes targeted Corallium for the most fleeting of moments as if to show her she was not the only one who could lord over the sheep.

"We as it's lords and masters are tasked with spreading our influence across the whole of creation and all those who live within it. This meeting is in the hopes to keep each and every one of us working closely together for the good of all. All has it's place here. Love and War, Chaos and Order, Fate and the Death of all things."

His words hung heavy in the air with commanding authority and presence. Revan's glowing emerald eyes fell on each deity in the hall for the birefest of moments before he continued.

"So I open the floor to you all. Are there any issues to be presented to the group of us? Any concerns to be addressed? Now is the time to do so..."

Arabella took of the mead and finally couldn't take the taste anymore. She waved her hand over the goblet and soon the liquid turned into water and she smiled to herself. 'Innocence...such a bother sometimes.' She thought to herself with a sigh. 'Can't even enjoy a small cup of mead without gagging.' She listened to everyone chatter away and returned many complimetns to everyone and gave them smiles. She liked generally all of the gods and goddesses there were just select few that she sometimes had a problem with. Many of the mischievous gods and goddesses made her tasks quite unbearable at times, the wars, famines, and deaths were her biggest problems. She hated it when one of the Immortals decided to fool around or mess with her balance of the beauty she bestowed upon nature or the elves. She was very protective of her dear beloved followers as the more they prayed to her for help or guidance the more power she felt and recieved.

Arabella's eyes turned into a dark, deep, black as they burned with anger feeling and hate the more and more she thought of the intentions of the other Immortals. She closed her eyes as her hands turned into fists and she took a deep breath calming herself. She exhaled slowly and when she opened her eyes they were back to their normal unnatural bright glowing blue color. She turned her attention to Revan and tried to get her mind off of everything. She looked int his eyes and always had admired how the seemed to glow with the brilliant green shade. She smiled to herself thinking, 'Only time when my eyes change to that color is when I'm ill or weak.' She mentally laughed to herself and she shook her head softly and refocused herself on the matters that she wanted to address to her peers.

Arabella raised her hand and then took it down, to let the others know she was about to speak. "I have no issues that need to be further investigated. However, I would like to make the matter clear that I do not condone the pillaging of the lands that the Orcish people have seemed to take part in." She closed her eyes maintaining her sanity, her eyes turned a dark orange tone as she continued trying to keep the annoyance out of her voice. "They marauded one of my temples and tortured to death some of my dear elvish priests. Now I normally would let this kind of unfortunate event pass but it has happened to 4 other of my temples in the eastern region of Lorgaine. Now I'd like to try and see that issue may be lessened to an extent to where only a few of my temples are still standing. Or I may start to stop blessing some of the Orc's with my gifts and let their population dwindle." Finished feeling a bit unsettled with so many eyes upon her as her own shifted into a light shade of pink as she took a sip of her goblet of pure water, feeling a bit shy now. "Now I'm not sure if it is in anyones power to help stop this, but if so, I'd something done, about it, please." She finished and folded her fingers together in her lap and sat in her chair straighter with a small smile spread upon her flawless face.

Alahya smiles to Librus, filling her own glass with a sweet, purple liquid - She did quite enjoy wine but if she were perfectly honest Cider was her favourite although she daren't say it here.

"Librus, it has been too long. How are you?" She asks, smiling.
Alahya has always had a soft spot for the wise 'Librarian' as some called called him, he was - obviously - very clever but not only in his knowledgeable ways, he was very wise, 'all-knowing' she had heard one or two times.

A small shiver runs over her spine when she notices the group of people they call 'The Triumvirate' she had no real qualms with either of the three but she didn't exactly enjoy what they did.

She swiftly moves on from the three, eyeing 'The Temptress' Corallium, she acted like the leader - The one in charge when really they were all equals yet no one said as such, instead all eyes were on her and what she was to say.

It is then that Revan talks, ah, Revan he always came to her as quite violent and cold of course, that was what his 'job' needed him to be but he just came across as very arrogant - To Alahya anyway.

Librus nods to Alahya. "I'm well, dear. We really must catch up later." He says with a smile before turning to address the room as well. "I must say as well, the wars and violence that arises from the Orcs is causing problems for my researchers. Many parties have been slain due to the Orcs' onslaught. One entire library has also been razed, but the Catalogers were able to save most of the volumes. A lot of mortals live in fear, and this is impeding their studies." Librus says, loud enough for the other Immortals to hear, but just so. This subject made his blood boil and turn, but it needed discussing. His followers' progress with building more libraries is being halted by the increasing attacks, and Librus wanted to ensure their safety.

However, he also knew that the Orcs were part of the balance of Lorgaine. Their rampages were necessary. This angers Librus, but he keeps it under wraps. There was a solution, but it entailed arming the Humans and Elves to the teeth, making them no better than Orcs. Librus takes a swig of water and a bit of apple, which was wonderfully sweet, and awaits the ideas of the other Immortals. No doubt suggestions of weapons and armies would appear.

Athena did not want the meeting to commence. Least not yet. She had been meaning to ask Alahya about some songs sung by the minstrels and the latest poetry on the valiant acts of the Knights of Santiago. Not to mention, with her good spirits, she wouldn't mind hearing a couple of the Jester's jokes. No need for things to become so serious so soon right? Alas it seemed things were not meant to go as Athena wished and rather then fight it, she went with the flow and made sure to pay attention.

While fair Lady Love brought up the Orcs and Librus also stating the problems the damned green skins were giving his lot, Athena closed her eyes to peek on the events down below. She could see the horde march onward and she witnessed them take much delight in sacking any settlements that they came by. It was a sickening sight to behold, the innocence that was being butchered, but Athena saw it all and then let her eyes turn to see what was happening with the humans.

First thing she saw was pitchforks and torches, the arms of an out of control mob. Uniformed soldiers were everywhere with their own weapons. Attempts to calm the crowd civilly, then with threats, and lastly with action. The whole event turned bloody. It seemed the Anarchist God was having his fun turning brother against brother in this kingdom. Athena knew from past experience that when such a thing happened in any nations, the neighbors either got involved or put all their efforts into staying out of it. The Orcish horde may be on the march but they were still some ways away from the human kingdoms and so they would not give them much thought till then. They would be those that would demand the orcs be dealt with now before they were a threat then later when they were knocking on the city gates but these would few. The ears that heard them would be fewer still and those that choose to face the horde would not be sufficient to provide significant relief to the elves. Making things all the more grim, Athena couldn't really do a thing about it.

The Goddess of War had long ago chosen to stay (for the most part) out of mortal affairs. She could have her Valkyries give hand out blessings to aid those courageous individuals brave the horde. Other then that, it was out of her hands. Athena pondered on the matter for a bit. Mmm...If there was a Knight Order or a similar faction, devoted to handle such matters perhaps... Athena ventured on with this idea...her gut telling her to drop it but her warriors heart rather liked it. Then the Goddess romanticized the idea a bit. She envisioned men in armor , on horseback, riding out to thin the green skin Horde. She imagined the minstrels writing epic poems and singing songs of their deeds and of course how grateful the mortals would be of such a group's dedication to protect the innocence.

Her eye's opened up wide and they even seemed to have an added spark.

".Brace yourselves," they seemed to warn, "The Goddess of War has an Idea!".

Athena thought it was nothing short of pure brilliance and had no option but to voice her suggestion, if not to address the matter at hand then to calm her growing excitement.

" Lord Librus, Lady Arabell.", the Goddess of War begun, placing her helmet on her head and stood up to pace the room but never did she not face her peers. "If I could find an individual with exceptional valor and courage, a compassionate soul with sympathy for others and the heart of Lion so he could rally others and lead them true...Then my I and my celestial servants could convince him to create a new Knight Order, or something, with the sole purpose of protecting the innocent from the Orcs.".

Lady Athena remained standing after she finished speaking, no doubt awaiting to hear approval from her peers or just the opposite. It was rather obvious the War Goddess was fond of this idea and like all things that she fancied, she would put up a fight defending it.
