Anguis

Cut off one of its writhing heads and in its place slither two more. Its dripping, flame-like poison defiles the very earth it touches.

Gender: Presumed male

Height: 15'10"

Weight: 49 tons

Hair: N/A

Eyes: Featureless; pure white

Personality

Harsh, rude, tendentious, contemptuous, and often times vitriolic in its actions and mannerisms, this is a truly ill-mannered beast. Each head gets more vicious and noxious in attitude as one moves closer to the center head, the central cranium being the most vile, hateful, destructive one out of the nine it possesses. Some believe it may be tied to the reason Bahamut turned and became evil, but this is greatly doubted and highly unproven with little evidence to reinforce the theory.

It is allied with Bahamut, and acts as the main juggernaut of the armed force, besides Bahamut himself.

History

A rather seclusive creature as it is, the Hydra, Anguis, is not too well known about its life, besides its normal acts of destruction and violence. Such things are known about it for example though:
-"Upon decapitation of one of the various heads, two new heads shall swiftly emerge at the base of the neck from which the original, single head was severed."
-"The poison it secretes and attacks with is extremely vitriolic, and can easily corrode and defile whatever it comes in contact with instantly due to its high concentration of acidic qualities."
-"Its skin is rigid and extremely tough, only the sharpest blades and finest bolts made from certain ores able to pierce this beast's hide."

Besides these and other basic pieces of information from lore and such, or to why it allied itself with Bahamut, no one knows much about the Hydra, and no one dares to try and find out more.

So begins...

Bahamut loosed a rather audible growl, clutching his wing's base where it was injured. His healing process was a painful one, and he had very short patience by now. "Enough!! The fact that you have survived at Mulier's hands is proof enough. Then again, I know how she enjoys to toy with her foes..." The vampire stepped back, giving a sheepish grin. Bahamut spoke up once more. "As I said before, the only reason I am not killing you is because you were brought to me by Kuro..." The dragon waved a claw at the duo, shouting and roaring in his draconic tongue as another bolt of pain swept over him.

Mulier, knowing when to retreat, carefully moved out of the cave, waving for Guy to follow. Once the two were gone, Bahamut gritted his teeth and unwrapped the bandages. The hole was still there; a bit smaller now, but still there. And still bleeding. Bahamut groaned as he conjured up flames in his mouth and forcefully cauterized his own wound. From there, it would have to grow and recover naturally. It would take a few days, maybe near a week. But, he'd be back in the skies in no time. Until then, he'd have his lieutenants take care of things. Turning to the sigil, he tapped it and it activated from the touch of his Mana. Bahamut waited, since he planned to communicate with an old ally on the next move.

...Somewhere in Fishan...

In a deep, dank cavern in the thickest, foggiest, and most noxious swamp in Fishan's land based regions, an old and massive sigil, one as old as some parts of Daughtris itself began to illuminate and swirl. The hum awoke something, lifting its head and looking to the sigil. After focusing its pale, white eyes, it turned and barked at something else in the dark in some old, ancient tongue. Eight other heads slowly began to rise, each one getting thicker and more intimidating the closer they got to the center cranium. After shaking off the centuries of undisturbed rest, Anguis, the mighty Hydra beast of Fishan turned to the Sigil. If it was being contacted, then that only meant one thing: Bahamut had been freed. The war would resume. The destruction could begin again.

"Oh? Worried he might eat your women? You know how he enjoys the taste of human flesh..." The dragon laughed harshly, deciding to not let Kelovius know about the open communication with Anguis via Sigil. "And if I come to Abarri, what might I expect upon my arrival? Some army to make a pitiful attempt to bring me down? Or will I be welcomed with open arms?" He growled a bit, ignoring the comments off betrayal for now.

Anguis's various heads bickered quietly over leftover scraps and plans for food, but the center cranium listened intently to the conversation. "So, Kelovius has reared back his cocky little head once again?" The center one muttered, the closest two leaning in. "It's about time he showed his face." "That little wyrm looks rather delicious..." The center head snapped at the other two. "Silentium!! Listen!" It hissed quietly, making sure the other heads kept quiet.

"Cheap as ever..." Bahamut muttered as the image disappeared. He wasn't too worried about it, nor should he worry too much about the side effects. Him and Mulier had enough of a grasp on the finer workings of mana that they'd be able to bypass those effects. Guy would be of some concern, and Anguis wouldn't need to worry about the possible effects. The dark dragon turned his head toward the still lit sigil. "You know what to do Anguis. When I give the order, we'll go through. I'm bringing in Mulier and a new recruit. Don't eat him."

...Fishan...

Anguis's collective heads grinned as the conversation they eavesdropped on ended. It would be nice for them to get out of the cave again. The center one listened to what Bahamut said, one of the outermost ones piping up with a cackle. "No guarantees!" They all gave a confirming nod and began their own preparations.

Anguis's heads, after some bickering and such over what to do, finally agreed that now was a better time than ever to get to moving. The center cranium nudged the sigil, and the massive beast seemed to be absorbed into it. Mass amounts of mana could be felt from the area for a short while, and the destination. The Hydra poured out of a sigil that had been moved due to construction and land shifts, Anguis prowling out over a land breaking site in Fishan, much to the shock and horror of the workers there. The sigil had been moved a few miles away from the true destination; the resting place of Gen's Fishan base. "Bah...The mortals threw off our course..." The main head muttered before moving ahead. "The shadowchild will know the wrath of the Hydra..."

ONE OF GEN'S SUCCESSFUL EXPERIMENT:
A LIVING CHIMERA INFUSED WITH DARK ENERGY

The dragon head of the chimera raised in alarm at an unknown hissing sound in the base before the goat and the lion woke up from their sleep. To get a better view, it quickly clawed up on one of the higher hills and saw a hydra with nine heads in the middle of the base, standing on an ancient sigil that was thought to be unusable. The other guards and soldiers in the base quickly noticed the large nine headed creature. It wasn't hard to miss. Knowing not the hydra could speak, they readied themselves for a battle rather than trying to communicate with it.

Not waiting until the hydra attack, the chimera started the battle by lunging at the hydra from the hill. The dragon and the lion readied it's maw to dig in to one of Anguis's neck while the goat started preparing a spell of great sleep spell. It would take some time for the spell to be ready.

Seeing that the chimera had started it's attack, the soldiers and undead sea-men started theirs. The soldiers started to shoot while the sea-men jumped towards the hydra and lunged down their trident.

(I started the battle, the next action from Verum shall be posted in the calculation OOC. When the calculation is done, then it will be posted into the IC along with the damage received)

Irritated, ill-mannered, and hungry, Anguis roared with eight heads, the center most shouting in its ancient tongue, not bothering to translate. Those who understood would be smart to yield. "De via, spumae! Habeo negotii cum Umbra Puer!!" ("Out of the way, scum! I have business with the Shadow Child!!")

Anguis blocked the Chimera's lunge by quickly pushing the creature's body with three of it's heads. It's teeth didn't even get close to the hydra's neck. two of his heads focused it's Ki on it's scales and harden it, stopping the bullets and trident from piercing and injuring them.

The outer four heads lanced out, spraying the corrosive and powerful acid of the Hydra at whatever creatures got close, though the center five prepared for the chimera, ready to lash out and bite down on the beast and rip it apart with jagged teeth and acidic saliva. The chimera didn't match up too well size wise compared to the immense Hydra, and the foot soldiers and seamen were essentially ants. Most of their tools and weapons would be ineffective anyways, but that chimera was still a threat.

To protect itself from Anguis, the dragon head of the chimera breathed black fire on the ground which became a tall wall of fire while the lion head gave out a roar that trembled the earth and sky which was meant to instill fear and push back any hydra head that would manage to pass through it. Anguis's forth head managed to pass through the wall of fire and lion's roar but it's attack were intercepted by some of the soldiers which defended the Chimera with their specially designed and produced hand held shields. The shields was strengthen by the energy of the energy stones that were installed in their shields. Combined with the Ki control of the soldiers, they managed to totally block off any damage done to the Chimera.

Some of the soldiers were blocking themselves from the acid breathe of Anguis but failed to do so. While protecting acid attacks from the front, their backs were left open and were melted by the acid. Screams and yells could be heard from the pain and agony of the soldiers before they died on the cold ground of Fishan leaving only some that remained to fight.

The undead beastmen of the sea evaded the acid spray by jumping with great agility. Some of them weren't fast enough to dodge but they managed to block every acid that was heading for them by rotating their tridents fast around them.

While being defended by the soldiers, the chimera quickly lunged forward through the wall of fire and the dragon head exhaled a burst of flame towards one of the hydra's head, it's paw swinging down to latch itself on the giant snake's neck, and the goat head unleashed it's prepared sleeping spell.

After days of constant struggle and near one-sided battle, Anguis came out on top. Only a few tiny nicks and cuts were seen on the Hydra's body. Corpses of all shapes and sizes were scattered about in the swampy area. Blood overtook brackish water from the sheer amount of bodies, especially from that of the chimera, tricky beast it was. The goat's head was caved in harshly, while the dragon's head was fairly intact. The lion head was gone entirely, having been devoured in part of the fight. Anguis snorted in satisfaction before looking to the base, narrowing all 18 eyes.

With little warning, the six outermost heads began spraying the vitriolic acid onto the sides of the building. One of Gen's lieutenants were among the bodies on the field, but there was still another. A lieutenant and some being named Ora Yue. Both were going to die. The two heads closest to the center kept watch in case of any stragglers, while the centermost head watched intently. The walls began to sizzle and melt, ready to reveal whatever my have been hidden inside.

Gen took the disc. He examined it for a while before throwing it up casually. In mid-air, the disc burned in black fire and disappeared. What looked like he was throwing away the disc was actually him teleporting the disc to his assistant’s office.

“You won’t have to wait long. I shall give my answer within a day” Gen grinned widely

Suddenly, the pocket of Gen’s doctor’s coat beeped. “Oh excuse me” he reached in, took out his cellphone and looked at it. His brows rise and his face started to redden.

“Whaaaat daaaa fuuuuuuu~~!!” He roared

Gesturing his free hand, a holo-screen appeared to his left, right of Gerard. On the screen shows the view from the Chimera’s dragon head. The image was a large hydra, spraying vitriolic acid to his building in the Fishan base. When the building’s walls melt, it revealed plenty of glass cylinder tubes. Some of it was filled with creatures of many kinds, unconscious.

At this time, the scientist had to ignore Gerards. Gen quickly swung both his hand and holo-keys appeared in front of him. With his experience of handling the holo-keys, he quickly moved his arm, hands, and fingers, attempting to transfer the creatures filled cylinder tubes to his base using the backup energy supply as the main energy supply has been severed in the fight between the chimera and the hydra. He couldn’t transfer them all at once seeing that the energy is insufficient.

One by one, the cylinder tubes started to sink in to the ground, in front of the hydra, transported to the other nearest base in Fishan by teleportation method. It would take a miracle to save every one of the cylinder tubes but it was better than nothing.

Gerard looked at the tubes and cylinders as well as looking at the display of the hydra and chimera.

"Golems!" he said abruptly. "Do you have any defense against that acid or anyway that can assist with the storing and guarding of those tubes?"

Gerard turned clicked on a button and looked to Gen.
"Would you care for assistance, partner?" Gerard said letting the man know the cost his help. Within a few minutes a figure came out from the elevator. It was the courier that Gerard had had his way with earlier. She carried a bag as well as a duffel pack with Gerard's trademark staves sticking out.

The lead golem looked forward to the ensuing destruction, turning back to its current master while the other two looked onward to the hydra's actions. "While we are able to safely ensure guarding of the cylinders can be done, we may only last out against that acid with a mana shield for a brief moment of time. Once it comes into contact with our metal bodies, we only would delay the inevitable."

It seemed Gen was quite panicked, and Gerard and the woman were rushing around to try and gather things together to assist the child of Venash.

Anguis continued to wreak his havoc and destruction on the Fishan base, clawing and spitting acid as he went. Anything that was not in the tubes would be dead by now. The beast only gave pause as it looked to the base of the large building. Given the extremely loose and wet soil, there was no possibility of any sort of underground structure, such as a room. It would have to be on a solid base. "The shadow-child shall know the wrath of the Hydra..." The center head spoke, the lower heads tearing away at lower portions of the structure before returning to the others. Then, Anguis executed his plan to topple the building completely.

Rearing back, Anguis brought his claws and immense girth onto the side of Gen's base. The Hydra planned to drop the building entirely, and if he could not make it tumble like a tree, then he would tear it asunder. Pieces of fused metal, stone, and whatever else the base consisted of broke off and fell into the lagoon of brackish blood. Hissing, harsh roars escaped each of the Hydra's heads, one after the other, almost in response to the groaning and screeching of the building's metal supports.
