a character in “Gods of Elements: Sylph's kiss”, as played by Verum Umbra

Description

Image

Name: Bahamut

Age: Unknown; theorized to be anywhere from 2,100 to 2,500, and still going stronger than ever.

Gender: Male

Height: (Standing on hind legs) 19'8"

Weight: 2.7 tons

Hair: Has various horns protruding from his head going backward

Eyes: Ivory

Clothes/Armor: Does not wear any clothing; overlapping scales create a rigid sort of natural armor.

Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual

Likes: Being alone, destroying what the denizens of the other countries and regions have worked so hard and long to build and preserve, devouring any sort of meat, his home in various ruins

Dislikes: The gods, people in general, working with others, being challenged, those who try to stop him from doing as he pleases.

Special Skills/Magic Abilities: Being a dragon, he has the ability of flight, is incredibly strong and agile, and breathes the flame known as Dragonfire. Is well versed in the uses of Ki and Mana. Has three different breath attacks: The normal dragonfire, a blue flame which incinerates much faster than normal fire and cannot be extinguished by normal means, and then a sort of acid breath which has extremely corrosive qualities.

Neither an ally of Avory or Venash, but his actions are universally considered evil.

Personality

An ancient and massive dragon, he is in every right an ill-tempered, destructive, and overall malicious entity. While he isn't antisocial, when he doesn't want to talk or have anything to do with someone or something, he'll usually let them know; usually in a manner that can be fatal. He'll only consider working with others when they prove themselves worthy of being with him; however, once they lose their usefulness...

History

Ever since he was born, Bahamut was the epitome of the stereotypical bad dragon; ill-mannered, cruel, and full of malice. He has travelled far and wide? Claiming many homes and mates, growing stronger and wiser with each stop. Currently, he resides in the largest set of ruins in the Bestia region of Daughtris. Not much is known about him, since almost all who have seen him have met a fatal and horrible end. However, his life has been recorded in story books and formal history books. Pieced together excerpts go something like this...

"...A long time ago, longer than you and I have been around, a small dragon was born into the world, and his name was Bahamut. He was a devilish little rascal, always getting into trouble, but he was a curious child, just as you are. Now, Bahamut wanted to learn, even if it meant hurting others, which one should never do. But, learn he did; languages, the landscape, history, and even his own abilities. At a young age, he was learning a great deal, and eventually, after a few hundred years, he had learned everything he needed to know about our country of Daughtris. Eventually, he left Daughtris on a journey to other lands..."

"...Eventually, around 700 years of age, Bahamut returned, but no longer the kindred spirit of a dragon he once was. Now, he held the seed of evil in his heart, and he went seeked to destroy the things that once he held close. First, he rampaged through his very home, Bestia. There were no gods there, and the people's defenses were not enough since his attack came so fast. After a war of a hundred years, Bahamut had earned a name for himself, and turned Bestia into the ruins they are known for today. At first, he lingered in the ruins, cleaning out the lands of anything of worth and that he could eat. For 400 years, he remained in the ruins, until that fateful day..."

"...Bahamut came back from the destroyed lands of Bestia, and soon began attacking our own lands and people! At first, we were unsure of what to do. Bahamut came so fast and fiercely, he caught us off guard. But, with the help of the gods and the goddesses, we were able to fight back! United together, gods and countries, with the Avory royalty at the lead, we fought against Bahamut valiently! However, there were supporters of the evil dragon, and a war soon started, with the dragon leading the offensive. From lands to lands, we fought long and hard, for hundreds of years! Many heroes were made, while noble kings, princes, and warriors made sacrifices. Eventually, we had Bahamut cornered, when..."

"...Soon, the beast lashed out and destroyed the armies with powers we had never seen. The royals, the remainders of the armys, and the gods themselves fought back. If it were not for the gods, Daughtris would've been lost. Bahamut's offense soon turned to defense as the battle soon became one-sided. Driven back to Bestia, the beast retreated, but the goddess of light, Hikari, pursued, knowing that she alone had to be the one to seal the behemoth. In a final battle, her siblings at her side, Hikari was able to deal a massive blow to Bahamut and bring it down, though not kill it. Instead of finishing it off, she built a seal on the islands of Bestia to keep Bahamut in..."

"...Ever since, our lands have been restored, and Bahamut fell into myth once more. No one really knows what happened to him, but we do know this: He is gone, thanks to the gods. Now, be sure to behave, or else Bahamut may come eat you up in your sleep!!"

So begins...

"I assure you lord, I can and will last." Guy said. He reached behind him and gropped a fold in the cloth of his armour for the gem. When he had found it he presented it to the dragon. "I beleive this is proof enough I am cappible in battle." Guy said. Then he put the gem away. "You have also never had a human that has the tongue of a snake before. Or I belive so." Guy said. he bowed again. "I mean no disrespect, just trying to proove myself." Guy said. He smirked. His as he had called it "Snake tongue" coming into play. He was a merchant, he had good, let's say speech skills.

Bahamut snorted more smoke as he narrowed his eyes, focusing on the male. His ivory eyes practically promised death, and they almost had a piercing effect when narrowed and such a way. The dragon waved a claw, unimpressed. "A swift tongue I already have in Mulier and a new lieutenant I have gained, and that stone is worthless to me. I do not hoard riches as my bretheren do." The dragon nodded to Mulier, the temptress vampire stepping forward.

The sound of blades being released from a sheath sang out in the air as blade slid forward from the fingers on Mulier's right arm armor, for all except the thumb. As she took a fighting stance, Bahamut spoke. "You must prove your worth through combat...Fight Mulier. If you can make her yield, then I will keep you as a recruit. Be defeated, and you might remain. The only reason I haven't killed you now is because Kuro brought you to me."

Guy sighed. "as you wish." he said, he was honestly terrified, but he wasn't one to let his emotions get the best of him. He drew his axe. He didn't attack though, he took a deep breath, he once again stored his rage this time deeper than the last time, it seemed that his mind was going into the gem. He felt the conciousness of the monkey creature, seeing it's pain and suffering as it watched it's parents brutally killed by others of it's kind. Guy drew rage from that, once again his form changed, his skin turning pure white, his tattoos red, his armor seemed to shift somewhat as this happened but he paid it no attention. Guy felt his vision sharpen, he felt an adrenaline rush. he looked at the demon woman. "Do your worst m'lady." he said in a once again evil and ancient tone which wasn't his own.

Mulier grinned and slid the blades back and forth along each other, licking her lips sensually before she stepped back , arm brought back in preparation before she cleared her throat. The vampire's pupils went to thin slits as she parted her lips and opened her mouth, an ear-wrenching and extremely powerful sort of screech escaping her throat. It was something akin to a banshee's cry. As she hoped to disorient him and maybe cause some bleeding, she inched forward, ready to put on the pressure.

Bahamut watched lazily. The effects of the blood loss were kicking in. Light-headed, drowzy, lethargy. The dragon yawned lightly, shaking his head a few times to keep awake.

Guy was sort of wierded out by this tactic, but it did make sense. Guy shrugged off the screech and he charged her, he drew back his axe, he put it backwards so he wouldn't kill with the blade, but instead us blunt force to break bones and cause brusing. He swung at her twice, aiming at her right hip th first time attempting to make it near immpossible for her to move with out pain, and secondly at her ribs attampting to brake a few.

While swinging his ax, Guy's head started to feel the effect of Mulier's screech. He started seeing double vision and his hands trembled a little.

Bahamut loosed a rather audible growl, clutching his wing's base where it was injured. His healing process was a painful one, and he had very short patience by now. "Enough!! The fact that you have survived at Mulier's hands is proof enough. Then again, I know how she enjoys to toy with her foes..." The vampire stepped back, giving a sheepish grin. Bahamut spoke up once more. "As I said before, the only reason I am not killing you is because you were brought to me by Kuro..." The dragon waved a claw at the duo, shouting and roaring in his draconic tongue as another bolt of pain swept over him.

Mulier, knowing when to retreat, carefully moved out of the cave, waving for Guy to follow. Once the two were gone, Bahamut gritted his teeth and unwrapped the bandages. The hole was still there; a bit smaller now, but still there. And still bleeding. Bahamut groaned as he conjured up flames in his mouth and forcefully cauterized his own wound. From there, it would have to grow and recover naturally. It would take a few days, maybe near a week. But, he'd be back in the skies in no time. Until then, he'd have his lieutenants take care of things. Turning to the sigil, he tapped it and it activated from the touch of his Mana. Bahamut waited, since he planned to communicate with an old ally on the next move.

...Somewhere in Fishan...

In a deep, dank cavern in the thickest, foggiest, and most noxious swamp in Fishan's land based regions, an old and massive sigil, one as old as some parts of Daughtris itself began to illuminate and swirl. The hum awoke something, lifting its head and looking to the sigil. After focusing its pale, white eyes, it turned and barked at something else in the dark in some old, ancient tongue. Eight other heads slowly began to rise, each one getting thicker and more intimidating the closer they got to the center cranium. After shaking off the centuries of undisturbed rest, Anguis, the mighty Hydra beast of Fishan turned to the Sigil. If it was being contacted, then that only meant one thing: Bahamut had been freed. The war would resume. The destruction could begin again.

"Well, well, well. If it isn't old Bahmy." a voice echoed. Suddenly, right in front of Bahamut, a green, glowing image of a dragons head appeared. It could have been any dragon, but it opened its mouth slightly, exposing two great fangs and a forked tongue, so that Bahamut realised who it was. "So, the rumours are true, you've returned." The dragon smiled "And still as ugly as ever. Go on then, spill the beans, i have three catch up questions, one, what the fuck happened to you? two, do you have an evil plan of revenge and/or world domination and three, do you like my new hologram?"

Bahamut roared in fury, loosing a blue flame at the hologram. Seeing it was simply an illusion, the dark beast narrowed his ivory eyes at the image. "Kelovius...You have a lot of nerve contacting me, traitor." Bahamut snorted smoke at the image, visibly irrated. "And I have indeed returned. And if you know what's good for you, you'd stay in your hole, lest I rip your throat out...Unless you can offer me true assitance. One, I had a run in with Undine and Hikari, two, I plan to destroy Daughtris, and three...You already know my answer..." Bahamut clutched the hole as it pulsated with pain, wincing a bit before speaking a bit. "Besides, you look much like Angius...So, you have no room to speak."

Kelovius smiled "Oh yeah, that little tiff about me giving your location away....yeah, sorry about that. I didn't think they'd lock you away like they did. Besides, you betrayed me plenty of times, and did i reprimand you? No, i found it funny. I'm glad to see that you're still as grumpy as ever, like a hormonal woman. Heck, I've missed you, pal. Things've been really boring without you shouting and swearing 24/7."
He grinned again, but it faded when he saw the dragons wound "Ooohh that looks nasty, those little bitches really screwed you up, huh? Wed have killed em long ago, don't you think? If we had got the chance."
He stiffened at the mentioning of his usefulness "Bahamut, have i ever let you down? The answer, as you know, is yes, but not this time. I've come here to invite you, as guest of honour, to Abarri, i have something.....interesting to show you. Something you'll like very much. When you feel up to it, of course, since at the minute you look like shit, but id love it if you came, preferably without the sweet company of Anguis. The guy gives me the heebie jeebies."

"Oh? Worried he might eat your women? You know how he enjoys the taste of human flesh..." The dragon laughed harshly, deciding to not let Kelovius know about the open communication with Anguis via Sigil. "And if I come to Abarri, what might I expect upon my arrival? Some army to make a pitiful attempt to bring me down? Or will I be welcomed with open arms?" He growled a bit, ignoring the comments off betrayal for now.

Anguis's various heads bickered quietly over leftover scraps and plans for food, but the center cranium listened intently to the conversation. "So, Kelovius has reared back his cocky little head once again?" The center one muttered, the closest two leaning in. "It's about time he showed his face." "That little wyrm looks rather delicious..." The center head snapped at the other two. "Silentium!! Listen!" It hissed quietly, making sure the other heads kept quiet.

"You cant be nice to me for just one second, can you?" Kelovius frowned. "Why the hell would i need an army when we all know that i could take you down myself, with enough luck and effort? I feel.......remorse.....about you being locked away. Not having a business partner to annoy the gods with wasn't much fun. Usually Id laugh at you and feel pretty good about being so clever. But you didn't deserve what they did to you. We're creatures of ancient legend, we're feared and hated, we're regarded as god killers, Bahmy , GOD KILLERS! It was always good the way it was, in the old days, your combative prowess and.... unstable temperament, mixed with my charm, telepathy, wit and considerable good looks, and Anguis the emo tosspot and his heads who he treats like nagging wives. We were a killer team. Don't you remember those good old days, where champions fell before our feet and gods wept at our destruction? Are you just gonna forget them, let them not count just 'cause of one little disagreement? If so, your a bigger moron than you were before. Things were more interesting when we worked together, so why don't you stop being an arse and admit it? The fact is, Bahamut, you have weaknesses, you have flaws, your just too stuck up to see them. If you really want to take the world by storm, You'd stop acting like a 100 years old and come to Abarri. The necromancers? Do you remember them? Turns out they found something. Something big. Something powerful. Something that can kill a god almost instantly. Something DRACONIC. Interested yet? I knew you would be. Now come on, you sexy beast, come to Abarri and we'll get to work, like old times. I even have that special ale you like, you know, that bitter stuff. Ive kept it for you since you were locked away. Itd be a shame for it to go to waste......."

Bahamut was quiet for a moment, but he sighed soon enough. "Fine, but I'm going to be bringing a few guests...Including Anguis. I have prior obligations, but, I think I can set one of my lieutenants up to the task." The dark dragon waved a clawed hand off of the injured wing. The limb quivered a bit as it moved slowly. As it healed, he rehabilitated himself; Bahamut wanted to be ready to go as soon as he fully heals. "Set up a sigil in Abarri in a space for me and Anguis to have room to move in and then send the mana frequency to me. We can take care of the rest." Bahamut moved as if to prepare to end his conversation, but then looked back. "Also, a word to you who enjoys the company of humanoid females...Be cautious of my lieutenant Mulier Tentationis. She a man eater...Literally." The dragon smirked before waving off Kelovius.

"Fine." Kelovius grunted "But you owe me one. I need to conserve power for the....thing I'm doing. Thus ill be using the minimum power level sigil. You may experience sickness, drowsiness, permanent infertility, or the growth of an extra head, but I'm sure it wont happen, and if it does ill pay compensation, namely, a quick bite of venom to put you out of your misery. See you in a tic." then the hologram vanished

Kelovius' mind returned to his body, and he shuddered as he recovered from his previous trancelike state. He levitated his cigar to his lips and clutched it between his teeth. In front of him sat a row of machines, each operated by froglike humanoids.
"Power up Betsy!" he barked, motioning to an old worn sigil near the compounds entrance which was being displayed on a humming monitor.
"Yes, Professor Freedom." croaked an operator, who flicked a switch, which caused the whole room to shudder slightly as the sigil was charged up by the central power crystal on the roof.

"Cheap as ever..." Bahamut muttered as the image disappeared. He wasn't too worried about it, nor should he worry too much about the side effects. Him and Mulier had enough of a grasp on the finer workings of mana that they'd be able to bypass those effects. Guy would be of some concern, and Anguis wouldn't need to worry about the possible effects. The dark dragon turned his head toward the still lit sigil. "You know what to do Anguis. When I give the order, we'll go through. I'm bringing in Mulier and a new recruit. Don't eat him."

...Fishan...

Anguis's collective heads grinned as the conversation they eavesdropped on ended. It would be nice for them to get out of the cave again. The center one listened to what Bahamut said, one of the outermost ones piping up with a cackle. "No guarantees!" They all gave a confirming nod and began their own preparations.

The dragon paused a moment in thought, shifting and reaching down. Bahamut grabbed the bandages and proceeded to rewrap his wing. It'd heal over time, better if the Ubarri could do something to completely heal it immediately. With a tap of the sigil, he contacted Mulier. It would be better to simply walk to where Kelovius was via sigil and get there immediately as opposed to just waiting for his wing to heal.

"Flying? I prefer, well, the sea, I am pretty bad on frirm ground to." He told her. he laughed. "Flying. Raiders don't fly." He said the last sentance dryly and flat. He looked at her hand out stretched to him and he shook his head. 'Not happening.' he thought to himself.

Mulier looked at Guy with a disappointed and almost pouting face. "Awww...You're no fun..." She muttered before working out her own mana and conjured up the spell that was needed. The two would begin to slowly fade before disappearing with a swirl all together. If Guy willingly stuck close, he'd be teleported with Mulier. Otherwise, he'd have to walk back, though they didn't get too far.

Bahamut watched as either one or both being appeared from the sigil, nodding once. The incantation to call up the portal was short, put it would take a while to open, so the dark dragon got straight to it. "Jennu suaco di darastrix cirau, nif sia donoap ekess svaklar si huven ekess gethrisj. Majak ve dastudr ekess move lae si petranas, vur suaco zyak batobot si nomag wiap lae si huven.." After a moment, taking into mind what had been sent via telepathy, which he was not fond of, Bahamut muttered the word "Ubarra" to the sigil, causing it to change color as it began to work its way to opening the portal.

Guy let her work her magic, He didn't usually trust magic, but he... well, had faith that Muillier wasn't doing anything funny. He somewhat trusted her. as they began to fade he noticed that his armor had again shifted and he adjusted it. "Stubborn thing." he said to himself. as they began to rematerialized he heard the ancient dragon Bahumut chanting in some odd, probably dragconic language. after a couple minutes Guy materialized fully and he bowed to Bahumut. "my lord." he said befroe he once again stood up.

Mulier smiled and bowed to Bahamut, the dragon nodding once while it worked the mana. Two dark garbed figures dropped down from the ceiling, facing Mulier, both faced her. They both sported the same wings as Mulier, only a bit smaller. After they stood, they kneeled before her. "We apologize for our tardiness milady. The path had become trecherous due to a storm." The temptress vampire giggled and waved. "It's fine boys, things happen." They both nodded and moved to a sort of attention stance. Mulier leaned over and spoke to Guy. "My personal bodyguards. Mother and father insist I be taken care of...Even though, as you've seen, I can handle myself."

Bahamut put one last charge of mana into the sigil before it sparked, a ring of flaming mana forming and materializing the portal, creating the two-way movement. Often, mana created portals reflected their creators; in this case, this one was near black and had quasi-flames of mana surrounding it. Without pause, the dragon entered, Mulier and her guards moving in aftwerward.
