Thaqotul

"Many seers fear the world will be plunged into shadow, but that could not be further from the truth. No, instead the world will be blinded by the coming light, and the shadows shall become our only salvation."

0 · 234 views · located in Daughtris

a character in “Gods of Elements: Sylph's kiss”, as played by noonshine

Description

Physical Description:

Name: Thaqutol

Race: Dragon (Wingless Wrym)*

Age: No one knows. He is extremely old, as no one in Daughtris who knows of his existence (who are usually extremely old beings themselves) can remember a Daughtris without him

Gender: Male*

Eyes: Sewn shut. He detests the "organic anchors" of vision (eyes) that his creator gave him, so he gouged them out and sees through shadows

Alignment: Neutral (for now)

Religion: He worships M'tun, the devourer, an ancient entity older than Daughtris itself. However, he has made inclinations that he worships other deities unknown to Daughtris, and he himself might actually be older than the devourer!

Place of Birth: Unknown. He may have been born in Ubarri, the homeland of his people, the Blackpyre, or some scholars theorize that he may not be from Daughtris at all!

Occupation: High shaman of the Blackpyre

Personality: Unlike the other Blackpyre, Thaqutol is not blinded by fanaticism and depravity, instead, he is enigmatic and keeps his cards close to his chest. However, he will reveal secrets to those who need them if the need is great. If it is not, he very oft speaks in riddles, allowing (and forcing) those who have sought his advice to work out the answer to the question themselves. He is always looking to the future, never bothering to remember the past or even notice current affairs, as he is constantly haunted by visions of doom and destruction, and he knows that to save themselves as well as the whole of Daughtris, the Blackpyre must embrace change. He is very wise and knowledgeable, and as a result he is revered by his people, who are also secretly scared of him.

Abilities: He can render himself invisible and flicker to another location using the shadows. He can also read minds, and his ability to do so rivals that of Kelovius. He can also see into the future, and the coming future causes him much distress.

So begins...

"Greetings, northman." spoke the beast, in a voice as soft as velvet, which radiated a sinister sense of authority as each word dripped from his lips. "I am Thaqotul, shaman of the Blackpyre. I felt your presence here in Ubarri and sent the scholar Karuune to collect you." he said as he motioned to the wrym who had brought the three here. He then turned back to Guy and narrowed his eyes, and the dark gem the merchant had been carrying levitated towards him, before coming to a halt in mid air. "I believe you have concerns about this artifact, seeing how it is linked directly to your impending destiny, and so i ask you this in kind. What do YOU think it is? What do YOU think lies within it?"

"Greeting wise one." Guy said with a slight bow. He knew that these wyrms thought him to be a god, but the could still kill him with one whip of their great tails. Guy was quite humbled by them. He looked at them and decided to speak, "I have seen a shadow in this gem. He seeks to help me it seems, but I fear it seeks to control me." He concluded. Guy was afraid. First it was the corrupt monkey, then the shadow god, then Bahamut, then Kelvious, now this. Guy had been through a lot in the past few days. Maybe he had bitten off more than he could chew deciding to be a raider.

Guy looked at the wyrms again. "Why am I here? What do you want?" Guy questioned.

Thaqotul smiled. "Northman, it is not just any old shadow that lives within the gem. Within the gem lies the mind of M'tun the devourer, our god. Your armor, on the other hand, is made from the metal from a corrupted ore deposit that we found to contain M'tun's soul, so thus, your armour contains it too. The soul cannot fully function without a mind to guide it, so the armor led the creature that carried the gem to you so that you could slay it. You see, at the beginning of the world, M'tun was a feared being who subjugated the first of dragonkind, and even the gods had trouble dealing with him. We, the Blackpyre, were his followers, and were the first Wyrms, as his infernal power caused us to lose our limbs and wings. However, one amongst us betrayed our god, and allied himself with a force from beyond daughtris that corrupted anything it touched, turning them into mindless beasts of a bluish - grey hue. However, it could not fully corrupt the traitorous Blackpyre, and instead he gained control of it! He became the Echanni, a powerful being that commanded legions of corrupted beasts and thralls with only one desire, to feed. The Echanni led his host against his former God, and managed to corrupt M'tun himself, turning him into yet another thrall and using him as a living conduit to spread his corrupting power further and claim more souls. At the sight of the downfall of our God, I was dismayed, and led mmy poeople underground. Eventually, the Gods defeated The Echanni and put him to death, before sealing what was left of his legions in eggs and cocoons deep underground, uncluding what was left of M'tun. We did not know what to do, as we hid under Ubarri, but our thoughts were distracted when a new race of Wyrms found us. These were taller and resembled the Echanni, we suspect that they were the aftermath of his corruption. Their minds had not left them, however, in fact, they were seemingly superior to most of ours. They took control of us with mind magicks and became a ruling elite, naming themselves the Goldcrest. The years under their control were terrible, but hope still remained. Whilst labouring in the tunnels, i discovered a gem that restored my will to me. When it was restored, i used my mind to connect with the shadowy presence within it and discovered that it contained the mind of M'tun himself! A part of our God had survived! However, i kept the gem and the extent of my free will a secret, playing the fool to the Goldcrest, knowing full well that they'd murder us all and destroy the gem if they found out. I didnt have to keep up the act long, as soon our 'masters' and ourselves went to war against the necromancers of the Ubarri, and during the battle I dropped the gem and it rolled away, and was carried off by wild animals. I was dismayed, but later the Blackpyre had a cause for celebration, as the Goldcrest were eventually wiped out and their hold on us vanished. We fled to our ancient lair once more so that the Ubarri could not find us, going deeper into the tunnels until we discovered the ore deposit I was talking about earlier. We sought to build a mechanical recreation of M'tun, but our plans were interrupted by th Ubarri and their new master, the last of the Goldcrest! You know him as your friend, Kelovius, and he used magic the likes of which we had never seen, manipulating the threads of fate itself to make sure the entrance to our new tunnel never existed in the first place! However, as your friend Janice said, it is entirely possible that miners from the other side of Daughtris spirited the metal away and fashioned it into armour. As for Kelovius, well, we are wary of him, as we just..........know the Goldcrest are connected to the Echanni somehow, and plus the fact that both him and your other friend, the......, you know.... hot tempered dragon, thinks he's a god.......oh what's his name!? Ah, yes, Bahamut, that's it! Yes, Kelovius and Bahamut are both mentioned in a prophecy that fortells the coming of a new Echanni. Whether they will end up trying to prevent his coming or hasten it is not known. For now they could be powerful allies. What we do know, though, is that a new Echanni IS coming, as more and more reports of corrupted dragon hybrids, the result of the Echanii's power coming into contact with humans, rising up from the ground and attacking are becoming more and more frequent. When he does return, he will seek to awaken the 'old' M'tun to spread his corruption globally, and then we shall all be doomed. However, it seems we have a 'new' M'tun to neutralize the waning powers of the 'old', you. If you become what you are destined to be, only you are the one that can defeat your former incarnation. However, as you can tell, the armor and the gem are not fully alligned to a human form, which is why the armor keeps shifting uncontrollably. Soon it will crush you to death, and the only way to prevent that is to allign the gem to you so that its power can keep the armor in check. However, the allignment process might be quite......unsettling, but it is the only way to save you and the rest of Daughtris. Are you ready to embrace your destiny?"

Guy shuddered as Thaqotul spoke. Guy looked at himself with a new awe. "Can you teach me how to do that?" Guy asked. He guessed the answer would be no. It always was, but then again Guy was their god. They had to listen to them, if they could. Guy didn't wish to be terribly cruel. But he would get his way, he was a merchant, he was manipulative.

Guy felt them gem longing to take control of hims and he felt the armor get tighter. Guy didn't try to resist this time he let the armor move how it wished, it didn't just slightly move now that Guy allowed it to move. It fully morphed. Guy felt it get tighter, he still allowed it. When Guy said in his head "Come to me M'tun. Become one with me." Guy felt the gem slightly take over as it became one with him. He felt the gem burn into his skin. It felt like a hot iron siring into his skin.

Guy fell to hi knees as the hot gem went through his chest burning his lungs, he coughed out smoke. He could feel it burning his lungs. Guy felt it travel to his neck slowly, like red hot sand travelling up through his body. In his mind M'tun fought for more control but Guy easily pushed back, until M'tun forced his way into Guys mind. Guy felt him take more control as the gem went into his head.

"I AM THE NEW GOD, NOT YOU!" Guy yelled both out loud and in his mind. M'tun withdrew as the gem went into guy's head.

Guy passed out as his body glowed a menacing shadowy black. Then there was an explosion of light.

Janice gasped at Guy's new form.

"Guy, are you alright?" She queried, helping him up.

"M'tun has returned!" Thaqotul boomed "Rejoice my bretheren, rejoice!"

And the lair was filled with reptillian cries of "rejoice" from the other Blackpyre.

"Lord M'tun." Thaqotul spoke. "The mind and the soul of your previous incarnation have been alligned to you. However, you are still not at full power. The last of your power lies within M'tun's body, which, as we told you, is sealed beneath the earth. When the Echanii returns, you must do battle with the old M'tun and defeat him before he can spread his master's power further. Alas, you are still not powerful enough to defeat him, for he is riddled with the Echanii's power, which has formed an almost inpenetrable shield for him. There is, however, one artifact that can pierce through the Echanii's power and thus weaken the old M'tun. It is called the Prism of Palovala. You see, in the early days of man, when the Echanii's army was still at large, there was an artist named Palovala whose artwork was so pure and beautiful that it attracted the attention of the godess Hikari. They began to talk and became close friends, but soon they fell in love. However, soon they realised it would never work out, what with the war with the Echanii and Hikari's duty as a goddess, and Palovala's mortal lifespan, so they both formally ended it. Brave Palovala still loved Hikari though, and she loved him still, so he decided to do one last thing for his beloved. He infected himself with the Echanii's power, but used his will, determination and his love for Hikari to keep the curse at bay. He studied its effects, and crafted a prism, that, when the purest of all lights was shone through it, would pierce through the Echanii's power. When he was finished, the curse had almost consumed him, so he hastily called upon his beloved, and bade her to take the prism. It was at that moment that the curse took over poor Palovala, and so Hikari was forced to kill him. Angry at the Echanii, she used the power of the prism to defeat him. Since the Echanii's death, the prism's exact location has remained a mystery, and only Hikari herself knows of its whereabouts. Furthermore, the prism would be useless without that pure light I was telling you about, and to make that, well......you need the gods. Only when the powers of all the gods are focused all at once on the prism will a beam then form and shatter the old M'tun's defences. You must rally all the gods to your cause if you hope to save Daughtris."

"There's a group of heroes searching for the gods too." Janice piped up. "I saw it on the news......Hey, Wait a minute! Are you.......proposing.......an alliance!?"

"I am." Thaqotul replied calmly.

"Well that's......that's.......that's proposterous! As if they'd ally themselves with us!" flustered Janice.

"They wouldn't at first." Thaqotul agreed. "But you will have to convince them that there is a greater threat at large. At present, the group has found a few gods, and are trying to find them to fight against the children of Venash in their petty squabbles over kingdoms and land. You must convince them that the return of Echanii far exceeds any of their wars, which it does, and they will realise that, if they have any sense. However, you three should not go alone on this quest, you should get your dragon friends involved. As we sad, they are powerful allies, and plus we have reason to believe that the angry one is in contact with the god Kuro, whom you need anyway, so that is a bonus."

Thaqotul took a deep breath

"Ok, so here's a runthrough of what you need to do; Step one: Tell your dragon friends about everything and ask the angry one to help you contact Kuro. Step Two: Persuade Kuro to join your cause. Step Three: Intercept Hikari's search party, tell them about the Echanii's return, say that you will help them find the other gods, and also ask Hikari where the prism is, though be careful how you approach this as she's probably really sensitive about it. And finally step five: find the other gods! When the prism is in your possession and the all the gods stand as your allies......well, by that time all will be clear as to what you need to do next. Got all that? Good. This tunnel here will lead you back to Freedom incorporated's entrance."

Guy sighed at everyone, the old M'tun was just a distant whisper in his mind now. He was now at Guy's mercy, and in his control. Guy heard the cheers of the wryms. Guy now saw that they were his creatures. He saw his past lives, his struggles. Guy felt connected to the Wyrms now.

Guy listened to Thaqotul and Janice. "Thank you my humble servants." Guy found himself calling them servant when he meant 'friends'. Guy stood and he felt more legs than usual. He had a scorpion tail on his back now.. Guy shrugged. It would come in handy.

Guy walked towards the exit. "Mulier, come with me. I'll need competent help. Janice you too." Guy said. He then turned to Mulier. "And m'lady, every lord needs a lady..." Guy left the offer open. He didn't need her but he would prefer having her. Guy walked out of the tunnel, it then closed behind him and his party.

[Noonshine, that's a long post which I had ignored for a while X-D I just read it and noticed Hikari and Kuro was mentioned in it? I didn't actually understood all of it but whatever. I'll try rereading it later]

An echo of laughter resonated in the cave where Thaqotul resided once the tunnel shut closed, unheard by Guy and his companions. "I finally found you, Thaqotul" a voice spoke before a dark vortex appeared upon the shaman wyrm "and I heard everything" the vortex turned into a form of a man with six pair of slow flapping black wings "it's been a long time since I've placed my darkness in the little black gem of yours, seeing everything that is happening to it and the ones who carried it. I didn't expect Guy Clansbreath is to be the new M'tun"

"Kuro...." Thaqotul croaked "It's been a while. You are correct of course, Guy is the new M'tun. I saw, deep within the void, of M'tun's reincarnation. It is a joyous occasion for us in two ways. One, the fact that M'tun has returned and two, this new M'tun is a clean slate. The last M'tun was an evil tyrant before the Echanii turned him into his instrument, but this new M'tun could choose to be benevolent, and so, we too, would adopt a benevolent nature, such is the way of our faith. However, that is his choice, and he will only be able to make it when he has his full power. As you may have heard, the last of his power lies within the old M'tun, who was turned into a pylon for the Echanii's holy power. If this pylon reaches full power, then the Echanii's corruption will go global, and we'd all turn into mindless beasts. Even you gods will be affected. You must realize that, despite your own evil nature, that this cannot be allowed to happen. The Echanii is returning, and he will seek to use his M'tun - pylon again. Only the new M'tun can challenge his old self, and even then we'd need to weaken the beast before Guy could land even a single blow. Thats where Palovala's prism comes in. I have sent Guy and his friends to go and look for it, but they also need the power of the Gods to wield it. They need you. They've just left. If you really have any sense in that brain of yours, you'll go up to them and offer your assistance. They won't have gone far. Out of that tunnel."

"evil?" Kuro raised his brows. If he cared, he could explain to the shaman how he is not evil despite the fact that he is called the god of shadows or darkness, but he had not much emotions. He did not care much for anything. After shrugging the thoughts away, he spoke "we'll see. I'll aid him once more if he finds this body of his. But for now, maybe I shall exterminate all of you wyrms" Kuro placed one of his hand forward, collecting dark energy in a sphere of shadow in his palm "are you ready to die?"

"Wait a second." Thaqotul replied calmly. "Let me just check if my life insurance covers malelovent shadow gods. Ill only be a sec, you don't mind, do you?"

And with that he slithered off out of view. The room was silent and the mood was tense. The Blackpyre were fearful of Kuro, knowing what he was capable of, but they were more scared of Thaqotul. Not because he was cruel or had wiped out entire civilisations or anything like that. They weren't scared of what they DID know about him, its what they DIDN'T know about him that frightened them the most, and, to be honest, they barely knew anything about him.

Thaqutol reappeared. It was odd that he hadnt tried to get away, but then again he would never abandon his people.

"Believe it or not," he smiled "it does."

And with that a vial of blue - grey liquid liquid that had been levitating silently behind him as he returned to face Kuro suddenly hovered into view. The Blackpyre let out a sharp breath. They realised what had happened. They'd seen this before, where Thaqotul had suddenly turned the tables in his favour when it seemed that all hope had been lost. He had a habit of doing that. This creature, this mortal, this blind, old, doddering Thaqotul, had outsmarted warlords, demons, dragon kings and gods and had lived to tell the tale. He was a legend in his own right. He was just far less boastful about it, unlike so many other so called legends.

"Now." Thaqotul said softly "I believe they call this in chess a 'Checkmate'? Anyway, this vial is my life insurance. It contains a sample of the Echanii's power. If I drop it, it will turn into a gas and infect us all, well, except it would do, if it werent for one thing. You see, there was one flaw to the Echanii's power. He could assimilate gods and immortal champions, but he could never manage to convert those who possesed a biology like his own. He could NEVER convert his kin, the Blackpyre. Though this doesnt save us from being torn to shreds by the hybrids he does create, it does mean that we are immune to his power, and thus it wouldn't affect us if I were to drop this vial. However, YOU would be affected. You'd lose yourself, your mind, your infamous intelligence and wit, all that you care about. You'd become a slave to the Echanii, nothing more. Imagine that, Kuro, the infamed god of dark, becoming little more than a mindless thrall for some overpowered lizard. Imagine what that'd do to your pride. Not that youd actually have a pride to speak of, of course, as everything you once were would be lost. Furthermore, you'd lose all your power. You'd just become some mindless animal and we'd overwhelm and kill you in seconds. So think about it carefully, oh god of dark. If you attack me or one of my kindred i shall drop the vial and you will be no more. If I were you i'd leave this cave NOW and go and help Guy. But of course i have sense. Whether you do, or whether you shall keep it if you do, remains to be seen."

Out of boredom and not from fear, Kuro retracted his hand, putting out the black fiery shadow sphere, and crossed his arms. One of his legs was put on top of the other’s shin. The god of darkness hovered in an upside down position as if there was no gravity.

“Do you honestly believe that the essence of Echanii will affect me?” he responded with a question “do you think it is that easy?”

Suddenly, Kuro’s body turned to black smoke which swirled and disappeared in an instant. He reappeared a few feet beside Thaqotul, eyes looking down to the floor.

“I dare you to drop it” Kuro muttered while circling the shaman wyrm, arms still crossed “shatter the vial. Let the essence of Echanii be released”

Thaqotul stared into Kuro's eyes. He must be bluffing, he thought, but when he looked into those eyes he ssw nothing. They maintained that stare for a while, until finally Thaqotul spoke.

"Fine," he said, giving in. He let the vial levitate back to where he had found it. If Kuro was speaking the truth, and he could resist the Echanii's power somehow, then he didnt want to waste such a valuable weapon. "Fine," he repeated "Go ahead. Kill me. Kill us all. See if i care. But know this, we are essential for Daughtris' survival, I have forseen it. If you kill us then the Echanii will easily win, and youll be to blame. Oh, and one more thing. If the Echanii wins, the shadows themselves will die. So, go ahead."

The god of darkness wasn't going to let Thaqotul simply keep his power source for blackmail. While the vial containing the Echanii essence hovered back to where Thaqotul intended, a fire black fire suddenly consumed it and disappeared in an instant. Kuro placed his hand in front of him and the same swirling black fire appear on his palm before revealing the vial, now in his hands.

"you've taken too long to answer" Kuro muttered blandly "I've lost my interest in ending you" he paused to examined the vial "maybe some other time"

Once again, the vial was enveloped and swallowed by the fire, leaving Kuro's hands empty.

"all this talk about corruption and the shadows ending, it has arisen something else in my mind" Kuro said touching his chin while looking at Thaqotul. Slowly, he raised his hand forward and pointed at Thaqotul "let see how you deal with my darkness seeping into you"

From where there isn't light shining in the cave, where the shadows were casted behind every obstacles, black smoky chains slowly rose and fling towards every wrym in the cave, especially Thaqotul. It moved swiftly but without a sound, trying to get the wryms while they are unaware, chaining them in a manner which would be uncomfortable but strangely satisfying to some. It will enter every holes in the wryms body. Not to kill them, but to corrupt their body with Kuro's energy. As for Thaqotul: he would get a special hole violated, just for humiliation. Kuro wanted to see whether the wryms could resist his radiation of darkness since they are the descendants of the father of wryms, M'tun. The goddess of the darkness waited to see what happens.

Guy suddenly felt a sudden ringing in his mind. He didn't know what it was but he knew the Wryms were in trouble. Ever since the spirit of the old M'tun shared his memories with Guy, he felt a new love for them. He didn't hate all dragon kind now. Guy didn't know what to do, his children were being hurt in their own sanctuary. Guy imagined what was happening and he saw it. He saw Kuro terrorizing his children. Guy felt some energy seep out of him as he was consumed by flames then resurrected in a gout of fire in Blackpyre.

"Kuro! How dare you terrorize my children as such!? Stop your madness and leave now or feel my wrath!" Guy yelled through the entire Blakpyre. His voice was not his own but a mixture of all the former M'tun's, a deep, intimidating, and demonic voice. Guy stared at Kuro intensely, fire in his eyes he was surrounded but flames, his wings were ablaze and when he swung them open all of Blackpyre was illuminated with flames at certain parts of the cavern. "Your shadows shall not protect you here violator." Guy said in the same ancient voice.

Thaqotul strained against thd dark energy that was invading his body. He was a being of shadow itself, and as such had trained himself to resist such power. Then suddenly an unholy fire exploded into life, and he saw his bretheren speaking, though not with their own voices, but the ancient voice of M'tun. All the Blackpyre were speaking in unison.....all except him. Damn! Now his cover was blown! He began to panic, until he reassesed the situation. The Blackpyre were not themselves, they were M'tun, and after using shadows plucked straight from the void itself to decipher M'tun's current mindset, he realised that the self proclaimed god of destruction wasn't paying him any attention, he was too busy focusing on Kuro. This was Thaqotul's chance. He cast an illusion upon himself to make it look like he was speaking in unison with the other Blackpyre, forging it from shadows that hailed from beyond daughtris so that neither Kuro nor M'tun could see through them. Content with his disguise, he surveyed the cave through the shadows, having no eyes to do so otherwise, and noticed Karuune the scholar was not present. Where was he? Thaqotul was familiar with each and every one of the Blackpyre, to a great degree of depth, and he hadn't percieved Karuune as having left the cavern. No matter, Thaqotul thought, the dear boy wasn't doing any harm. For now he watched Kuro with intent from beneath the illusion, waiting to see what Kuro would say in rettaliation to M'tun's rage.

But to Thaqotul's surprise, no respond was given to all the new M'tun's threat. Kuro wasn't surprised by Guy nor did he even flinched at the sight of them. The fact that the wryms resisted his corruption did amuse the god of darkness slightly, but making use of the shadow realm was a mistake. Forgotten by Thaqotul or just simply not knowing, Kuro controls every element of shadows. He is the god of every darkness. He is the shadow himself. Without even thinking about it, he could see through the shadow illusion that the shaman wrym has created to replace him in the Blackpyre cave. Kuro was no mind reader, but he could see into his own realm, the shadow realm, and saw Thaqotul searching for something, causing the god of darkness to be suspicious.

[Go ahead. Attack the god of shadows. I dare you >:-3. I'm using the battle system and Kuro will have multiply by 5 bonus! Muahahhaha! Am I godmodding?! Yes? I don't care! Muahhaha! ... I think I've gone nuts]

[That wasn't the plan.]

Guy watched Kuro's lack of reaction, he seemed to be more interested in Thaqotal. Guy channeled his new powers of arcane and he focused on the black shadow snare violating his children. Guy felt stronger in Blackpyre, as if there were something powering him. Then he noticed several of the Wyrms letting energy flow into him so he could help them. Guy focused all of his energy on the tendrils and then they were his, they turned to a crimson red and then dropped to the floor and turned to dust.

Guy one again eyed Kuro. "Leave." Guy said calmly walking over to Kuro. He looked at god in the eye and saw no emotion. Guy knew if he was looked in the eyes it would be easy to see his rage and anger. Oddly Guy could now control his anger in this new form, he no longer let the anger control him, but he channeled it into a weapon. His mana.

"you don't seem to know your place" Kuro said directing his words to Guy without even looking at him. Even though Guy hasn't received the whole amount of powers from M'tun old body, somehow, he managed to turn the god of darkness's shadow chains into black dust. A moment later, the black dust rose again and became two creatures of darkness, red eyes, full black armor, and ready to kill, summoned from the depths of the shadow realm. Kuro's darkness that Guy voluntarily swallowed a few days ago suddenly intensified and wrapped itself around the viking's heart and veins, along his blood stream and muscles, inducing excruciating pain.
"you shall think again to be disrespectful to the one that could end you instantly"

[M'kay. To escape from that shadow bind, you will have to do a safe roll]

Guy laughed for a moment until the pain hit. guy knew what this felt like, he had felt the searing pain of red hot chain encasing him before, he had abeen captured in raids before and been tortured. He had a high pain tolerance. Guy then felt things ripping inside of him and he couldn't stand it. he felt to his knees for a moment and gasped, crimson blood dripping from his mouth.

Guy felt more energy as he felt the Wryms pour more energy into him, he could hear a chorus of many of them speaking to him in their draconic tongue. He could understand them telling him to go on. He heard a screech in the background as one of the Wryms volunteered to take his pain for him. Guy felt deeply sorrowful for this brave soul but he thanked him kindly.

Guy got up and he once again glowed red. "You have no servants here to help you." Guy said the Wryms chiming in. Guy drew his ax and as the dark creatures formed Guy readied himself shield up, ax ready to strike. [Wrym taking pain=safe roll, ready=physical buff] Guy waited for the monsters to charge him. He could definitely win with the assistance of his Wryms.

The wrym has taken Guy’s pain away, but not the injury it applied. His heart was still clenched but he didn't feel it. The heart was crushed by the pressure, causing Guy’s blood to halt. But he already died once in Ostwyn. Kuro knows of the fact since he monitored Guy’s movement from the darkness was placed within the Viking. Whether he is able to cheat death once more is still yet to see. Meanwhile, seeing that the Blackpyre wryms are the source of Guy’s power, the shadow knight swung their hand sideways. In mid swing a large black sword, materialized from the shadows, appeared in their hand, striking at multiple wryms at once. The swing was mighty and filled with Ki energy. Silently, Kuro ordered the shadow knights to only use physical attacks since shadow elements are not effective enough to exterminate the wryms that are made of shadow elements themselves.

Whilst Guy was busy battling Kuro's minions, Thaqotul launched himself at Kuro directly. He swung his tail like a club, and each time it hit Kuro it crackled with dark energy. He was using his full power now. This creature, in this world, was regarded as a god, but to Thaqotul he was simply an extremely powerful being. Thaqotul's secret had more or less been exposed when M'tun's 'communion chorus' cantrip hadn't worked on him, and besides, with the Echanii's return getting closer each day, he could ill afford to keep secrets. It was evident now, evident to Kuro, evident to M'tun, evident to his own people, that Thaqotul was not who he said he was, and as he battered at Kuro with a power that didn't even belong in this reality, never mind this world, it was clear that he was much more than a simple shaman. Thaqotul wielded power beyond both Kuro and M'tun, beyond any 'god' of this world, and his true master was more powerful than all of daughtris' gods put together, and then some. Thus, the true nature, though not the motives, of Thaqotul had been revealed. He was not a Blackpyre, he wasn't even from this reality, and he wielded powers beyond any of the gods.

As he thwacked at Kuro, he growled in a voice that was both ancient and alien "Kuro, stop this madness. Do you not remember the scriptures? M'tun and his people are the one shadow in this world that you cannot control, that are not governed by your whimsn There are forces at work here beyond even you and your kin, and I am not just speaking of the Echanii. You cannot prevail in this petty squabble, so LEAVE!"

Attack missed

Although it seemed like he wasn't, he was paying a part of his attention to Thaqotul who was hiding in the shadow realm. No words came out of the god of darkness's mouth nor did he felt any emotions when Thaqotul came out of the shadow realm and attacked him. No respond in form of words was given to Thaqotul's warning and demands for the Kuro to leave. The swinging tail simply passed through his body as if his body was made of out black smoke. But that action had made the god of darkness to change his mind. No chances will be given from here straight on. He was going to kill Thaqotul, the wryms, and Guy along with them. They are all going to die. In a blink of an eye, multiple figure, seven to be exact, with 3 pair of wings rose from the shadow casted by the lights around them. The figure was all Kuro shadow clones, having least power than him but destructive all the same. They all moved in a blur. Two headed for Thaqotul, one from the side and one from above, swinging their sharp wings that could cut through powerful barriers towards the shaman wrym. Two more headed towards Guy, also using the same attacks as they did on Thaqotul. While the other three was aiding the shadow knights in hunting each and every one of the Blackpyre wryms. Kuro himself flew back and made two Brunoma's Dwarven made handguns appeared on his hand. He proceeded to shoot both guns rapidly, One aimed at Guy, and one at Thaqotul. Light elemented bullets were released from the handguns. Especially made to turn a live and well creature made of shadow elements into a lifeless corpse filled with holes.

Guy could hear the Wrym that had taken his pain for him begin to weaken. "My lord, I die. But you are safe." The wrym echoed in Guys head before she fell. Guy felt a hot tear streak down his cheek. Guy watched as Kuro multiplied and sent out his minions.

"Whats wrong Kuro? Too afraid to fight your own battles?" Guy taunted trying to get his attention off of the Wryms. Guy then felt a tingling in his head. He heard a faint whisper. "Guy, listen!" Guy heard.

"Guy you must chant these words to unlock the Blackpyre. It will unleash Blackpyres power. You and the wyrms will be stronger while the Blackpyre is open, but if the blackpyre is destroyed... well don't let that happen. Chat: Hroth kranar jilu franj. chat it three times." The old M'tuns voice sounded in his head. This time it didn't sound demonic and terrible though. It sounded like a father.

Guy felt the voice leave him, as he looked up he didn't see anything different. Time had frozen while M'tun spoke to him. Guy put his ax away and slung his shield on his back. He focused on the chant. "Hroth kranar jilu franj, Hroth kranar jilu franj, Hroth kranar jilu franj!" Guy uttered quickly. The entire Blackpyre began to shake. The walls fell away and revealed what was really here. The walls were really made of some sort of glowing crimson energy. Pure destruction.

Guy then felt in the depths of the Blackpyre more Wryms awaking. He could feel the power coursing through their veins. They were much stronger now. They were blessed with true power, that to destroy. He saw about twenty of the thouisands of Wryms slither from their underground homes. They were encased in a black flames that roared for blood. Thats why this place was called Blackpyre.

The Wryms came to Guy's side ten to his left and to his right. Guy looked at them. They were nearly as big as Thaqotul. Guy felt their minds mend with his and they were one weapon.Guy ran forward charging the Kuro he thought was the true one, his Wyrms behind him. Guy put his hands together and gathered mana, he let the power build and he shot a huge fire ball at that Kuro hoping to incinerate him.

Kuro's attack

It amused Kuro to see what was behind the walls. This must be the famous Blackpyre energy. The energy harvested from the mana released when a creature dies. Kelovius's founding. Or so he thought.

Just like the previous attack from Thaqotul, Guy's fireball passed through the god of darkness. Without waiting, Kuro, his shadow clones, and his shadow knights, started attacking. Three of the shadow clones teleported behind any Blackpyre wryms of their choice and span, swinging their wings like a blade in a wide arc sideways. Three more shadow clones also teleported. One appeared above Guy, swinging his six wings down like multiple katanas. The other two appeared on Guy's sides, swinging their six wings in a wide arc, quick but careful not to hit their ally next to their enemy. There was one shadow clone left. It also teleported, appearing above Thaqotul, swinging its wings down to the wrym shaman. The two shadow knights, swung their great sword sideways in a wide arc to every nearby Blackpyre wryms. Kuro himself spread his arms and wings, hovering back. Surprisingly, six spheres of light appeared around him. Although he was the god of darkness, just like other creatures of Daughtris, he could manipulate the element of light, just not as great as his dark elements. The element of light is just the element needed to exterminate the Blackpyre wyrms. He unleashed the sphere toward every enemies in the cave.

Guy was in fear for his wryms but they told him it would be alright. The fire around them then hardened into black armor. Black plates covered the wryms, they were covered from head to tail tip. The only open spot was their eye slits, yet even then most wyrms could see by sensing vibrations in the air and ground.

Guy called on the Blackpyre enrgy, and somehow as he tried to tap into it with his mind it attacked him and ripped at his memories as if it were alive. It was alive. Once guy saw it had the M'tun memory the Blackpyre stopped. Guy opened his eyes and there were shadow black flames encasing him too. guy could feel the power emanating from them. (Mana use buff)

Guy used this new enegy and engulfed the entire caveren in blazing hot flames. The wryms would be immune to fire, they were dragon kind. Thier hides would protect them as Guy conducted his blaze all around, focussing the hurricane inferno on Kuro. Guy saw the wryms begin trying to slither around the knights and kuro duplicates to squeeze them to death. Guy hoped their armor would hold.
