“There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so,” Spoke Aliza softly underneath her breath as she tightened her small clutch on the crinkled aged book in her hand, Hamlet by William Shakespeare. Looking up, she turned around to look at the silently reading class, noticing that even her English teacher was at her desk paying little attention as she read. Being as hushed as a mouse, she sank out of her chair and grabbed her bag before slipping out. She sat at the desk right beside the door, as she did every other class, as she always had a tendency to just leave unnoticed. Sighing a bit as she walked into the empty and cold looking hall, she slipped the book into her bag. She had read the book many times over the past years, and didn’t feel like she needed to be in the class doing so again. Doing a slight skip down the hall way, she did a small twirl once or twice, before bumping right into a teacher. She knew him, and it was one of those teacher that often yelled at her for her little care and seriousness. “Oh dear! So sorry, sir.” She spoke, her light British accent adding a bit of charisma to her voice as she smiled. “I feel a tad dizzy, so I should really step outside, good day!” She called back to him, as she continued her way out the front doors. Her voice was probably loud enough that it seeped into other classrooms, and she mentally slapped herself for her carelessness.

Letting out a long breath of air as the cool fall air hit her when she stepped outside, she leaned against the cool stone wall of the school. Checking the watch on her wrist, it read one thirty PM on the dot. Dropping her wrist, she closed her eyes letting the cool wind hit her face. She didn’t feel like going back in the school. Her English class was going to be over soon, and the only class she had left was Math. She didn’t really feel like going to that class either. Her mother often got upset at her with that, she had almost perfect test scores and work scores, but her attendance was positively atrocious. She often just shrugged it off.

“I should probably stay here, Mother would get aggravated that I’m home early...” She spoke to herself. “What to do, what to do.” She sighed, looking around the personless, yet tree filled front entrance to the school. Moving away from the wall, she walked around the trees in a maze like pattern, turning and twisting around them boredly. Grabbing onto the tiny trunk of one of the trees, she twisted around it, but lost her footing and fell onto her butt, saying a small “oomph.” Her long blonde hair flew wildly around her face, almost like a lions main. Staying seated on the ground, she smoothed her hair back down, the sleeves of her sweater covering over her hands.

She refused to get up, she just laid down and gazed up at the brilliantly blue sky filled with fluffy clouds. She was a dreamer. It’s what everyone had always told her. As a child she used to come up with the damndness things. Her mother would always tell her everything she said was lies, but her father would always encourage her imagination. God, she missed her father. He had died nearly three years ago, and he was her favorite person on this planet. After he died her mother had given her a white and black jeweled locker with his picture in it, and she hadn’t taken it off since.

Sitting cross-legged on the cold concrete lunch tables in a meditative pose, he watched Aliza flounce out of the school, her petite blonde figure seeming to wander, her face lost in thought.
"Hey Alice! Where you headed?" Though she seemed blissfully unaware of him. As he unfolded his long legs, the soft fabric of his middle eastern "poofy pants" caressing his skin, he followed after her at a leisurely pace, his bottoms swishing like a princesses gown. He followed her onto the grass, which kissed his bare feet and a crooked smirk seemed to light on his face as the blades hooked beneath his toes.
"Aliza Kingsley, skipping class again?" He leaned over her, her blonde hair cascading over the lawn of green. His eyebrows were raised, slightly mocking. Alcinder hadn't been to a single class in a month, though he still hung around the school to meet up with his haunts. Out from a breast pocket in his grey t-shirt he produced a lighter and a joint, which he placed in his mouth and lit, the tiny flame burning the paper and cannabis instantly. He smiled as he inhaled, holding in the smoke as the high hit his brain. He leaned against the knobby tree for support, smiling down at the girl before him once again. "Oh darling, before you know it, you'll end up like me. With your attendance they might kick ya' right out." He sneered down at her, his lips parted in a half smile almost as he laughed lightly to himself, taking another inhale of the joint. Finishing, he stamped it into the grass to extinguish the tiny burning ember. He sunk to his butt beside her and crossed his legs once again, loosing them in the folds of his pants. He himself was lost in thought as he followed her gaze to the sky.

'What if this is all just another crazy dream?'

His patience was running out. He stood there, waiting outside the school, his deadly silver hook hidden like his hands inside of a sweater with sleeves much too long. A tangle of dark hair seemed to rest on his forehead constantly and he blew it out of his face repeatedly, getting frustrated each time it landed right back where it began.
'I can't risk exposing my hands. Not in a school setting' he told himself. The hair could wait. He was watching for his prey. And sure enough, two of them came out. Leaning against the wall he watched Aliza and Alcinder slip off the school grounds and into the tangle of trees. They were painfully close to the rabbit hole he had fallen through not a day before. He remembered the swirl of memories return that had been previously tethered to the label "just a crazy dream." But it wasn't just that simple.

Jonah was a king. Was. Before he left Wonderland years ago after living out an entire life span, maybe 30 years, only to return to the human world and be a solum 6 year old once more. And of course his life here was shattered too, the loss of his family and hand, but he needn't think about the details of that. When he returned to Wonderland only yesterday, Jonah was greeted with surprise, as nearly 100 years in Wonderland had passed since his reign, and of course, he came back as a teenager, not the adult he had left as, with a hook for a hand. Everyone had assumed he had died, and the Kingdom had carried on.

Jonah sighed impatiently. The kingdom would be his once more, in time. Long ago there had been a prophecy of an great force, four humans, who could overtake his dark power. He believed no such thing, but upon his return he had seen it with his own eyes, the signs, and the rumors that the four were to return, that they were stronger than ever, and that was enough to chill him to the bone. And so he watched them now, enjoying their happy human lives, blissfully unaware for now, of how they shaped the future, and how Wonderland was utterly effected by them.

"Some four. They are only children Hook. You have lived Wonderland and you know it better than them. You have the upper hand. You can't kill them here. They just die on Wonderland soil and then you will have nothing to worry about." He breathed it out as the train of thought raced through his mind. He was not going to over think this. As soon as they crossed, he would kill them, case closed.

Peter sat in class, not really concentrating on whatever it was that the teacher was droning on about. Ever since he'd been to Wonderland, all Peter had wanted to do was go back. Qualifications meant nothing to him. Wonderland had turned him into a slacker, much to his parent's dismay. He tuned back in when he heard Aliza's voice in corridor. He began to slip his books back into his messenger bag, keeping one eye on the clock, the slow steady ticking of the clock driving him mad.

Finally the bell rang and Peter leaped to his feet, haphazardly throwing his bag on his shoulder, pulling his gloves from the front pocket. He headed outside, eventually finding Aliza and Alcinder on the grass. Alcinder was smoking something that Peter wasn't altogether sure was legal, but that was Al all over. Sure, Peter liked to have fun and push the boundaries, but he looked like a complete wet blanket compared to Al. Al leaned against a tree, taking another drag on his, well whatever it was because Peter was near certain it wasn't an ordinary cigarette. "Oh darling, before you know it, you'll end up like me. With your attendance they might kick ya' right out."

Peter dropped his bag by his feet, leaning against another tree, "Al, you know it would be a cold day in hell before Alice ends up like you. Besides, Princess Pants, last I checked, you're attendance is much worse than hers." Peter said, a smirk tugging at his mouth, neglecting to mention that he too was planning on skipping his final class of the day.

Alice's eyes lost sight of the blue sky, and focused on Al who appeared seemingly in thing air through her day dream. Sitting up, she put her hands behind her so she stayed up. "I was there for half of it, and that's good enough." She stated with a sly smile. Covering her mouth and letting out a cough as he lit up the joint in his hand, she gave him a very disapproving look. "I've told you this, don't light those up near me." She mumbled a little unhappily from underneath the shield of her hands.

Glancing over her shoulder to the voice that appeared behind, she snorted at Peters comment. "He's right." She said in a slight sing song voice, "Besides, I have perfect test sores even though I miss class." She shrugged, pushing herself up off the dry light green grass. Reaching a hand out, she grabbed Als and forced him up to stand. "Lets get off school property before we get yelled at by someone." She suggested. grabbing peters hand also, she tugged the two of them along for a couple feet before letting go. Turning around to face them, she walked backwards. "By the way Peter, why are you skipping class?" She questioned with a tilt of her head. Letting out a laugh, she opened her mouth to say something more, but tripped and fell. She expected to hit the ground with a thud, but what was odd was that the feeling of falling lasted longer then expected. It almost felt like she was getting sucked in. The feeling didn't really last long, and she did end up hitting the ground, a ground that felt like plush grass. But what happened next was that she didn't stay still, but she had landed on a hill and was now tumbling down it.

She stopped after about a minute, but only after she reached the bottom, and her head smacked a rock pretty hard, causing her to go unconscious for around ten minutes. Waking up, she groaned and put a hand onto her head where it hit the rock, and a splitting headache erupted. As her eye sight began to focus she glanced around her surrounding It took her a second, but then it hit her. "Oh dear..." She mumbled. She had fallen down a hole. Into wonderland.

He smirked at his childhood friend Peter. "Yeah Pete, shouldn't YOU be in class?" Winking he followed after Aliza at her heel, though soon she was falling down into a huge hole in the grass. Alcinder stopped short. "PETER! PETER!" He yelled, frantically waving the other boy over. "Where's Aliza.. She fell and now she's..." He got in his hands and knees "Where the bloody hell does this lead to? The underworld?" The grass and earth beneath his palms gave way and headfirst, Al tumbled down the hole. His hands desperately clawed for something to hold onto as he free fell. Landing roughly he felt himself rolling down solid ground, a hill, before his body was unceremoniously dumped and sprawled across the grass. A few feet away was Aliza.

"Aliza!" He crawled dizzily over to her lump form, his hands repeatedly slapping her cheeks lightly and frantically. "Wake up, wake up... Please be okay... Please.." He felt numb and slightly nascious at the sight of his friend and his brain still wasn't functioning as clearly from the muddled haze of the drugs he had smoked beforehand. He felt anxiety flair up wildly in his chest.

She rose slowly at first, and he gazed down at her, practically on top of her before rolling off. As she took in her surroundings, Alcinder was suddenly aware of where he was and the things around him. He looked back to Aliza.
Her eyes said it all.

"Alice.. This is Wonderland... Isn't it."

Peter stopped dead in his tracks, "Okay, Alice questioning me I get, but you Al? Man I am ashamed of you," He shook his head mockingly, "Besides, I was supposed to have physics last today and I think that kinda explains itself." Physics required a level of concentration Peter wasn't inclined to give that afternoon. It sounded far too much like hard work.

Peter watched, frozen to the spot as Aliza appeared to fall through the ground. Al panicked and Peter suspected that his friend's heightened emotions weren't being helped by whatever drugs he was taking this time. Peter ran the short distance to where Aliza had fallen in time for Al to slide down, the earth falling away in his hands. Peter dived, trying to catch Al's ankles, his fingertips grazing the materials of Al's pants. Peter looked down the hole his friends had just fallen down. He couldn't see the bottom. He hadn't heard his friends hit the bottom, but there were no screams of pain. Peter sat back on the edge of the hole. This all seemed awfully familiar, falling through bottomless holes that just seemed to appear. Then it hit him. It couldn't be... could it? Was it? Peter scrambled to his feet. In for a penny, in for a pound he thought before he jumped down the hole.

Rather than the normal feeling of falling, something Peter was all too familiar with, he felt more like he was floating. Like a feather maybe, drifting slowly downwards until he landed next to Al and Aliza.

"Alice.. This is Wonderland... Isn't it." Al said, a degree of uncertainty laced in his voice.

Peter stood next to his friends, looking out at the landscape before them. He half expected Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum to drop from the sky and start their usual mad rigmarole and arguing. He had missed this place and now that he was back, Peter couldn't help but feel it was all a little anti-climatic. Sure, this was Wonderland, but something didn't seem quite right about it.

"I think it is Al."

As she regained all the focus of her sight, she glanced at both sides of her, and saw Peter and Al. Putting a hand up to her stinging cheek, she glanced over at Al and said "My cheeks aren't drums you know." She huffed a tad, her voice the slightest bit shaky. Standing up, she lost her footing from being the slightest bit dizzy, and half tripped, bumping into Peter. "Oh dear! I'm so sorry!" She said frantically, looking at him with apologetic eyes.

Moving a bit away from the two, she walked around taking in the odd scenery. The sky of course as blue like the real world, but the grass seemed fluffy and dark green, full of life. The trees were tall looming, and vibrant. It really seemed like a fantasy land, that almost seemed a bit ethereal. Spinning around, she even took in the fragrant scent, it smelled different, and it was hard not to notice the almost fruity smell. But through what seemed like a marvelous, happy place, she felt uncomfortable. She hadn't been in Wonderland since she was a young girl, and hadn't left on wonderful terms with some of the people, but then again left in the most fantastic of terms with others. She felt a presence of something dark. And she took not of how she didn't see life anywhere.

Looking at the two, she said "We need to find a way home." A serious tone replacing her usual playful one. She felt her heart breaking by the minute. Not only did she just feel uncomfortable being there, but her mother was alone. Her mother who was now widowed, and kept Alice sheltered under her roof afraid of losing her. Her mother wouldn't have even known at this point Aliza had gone, but when she did find out, her mother would go absolutely mad. She would blame herself for the fact Alice wasn't there, she would kick herself for letting her husband down and not taking care of the single only child they had, the child who had always lived in her day dreams and dreamed of things bigger all the time, frightening her parents that she would be disappointed with the future. Which, wasn't exactly wrong.

Taking in a shaky breath, Alcinder backed off of Aliza. "I was worried okay?" He huffed in a tone that said his regular cockiness and attitude had returned from his brief trip in which fear had conspired. Glancing at Peter and then back to Aliza he stood himself up, the grass almost to his knees. It was soft and fluffy, and he walked slowly, his arms hanging down so his fingers could trail over the tops of the blades. He breathed in the sweet scent of Wonderland.
"But Aliza, can't you see? We are home! My family, they had a house here! We lived her when we were small, remember? And barely any time would pass in the real world" A small voice in his head nagged 'but you were forced out last time Al'
"This place is beautiful!" But all at once the sweet smell was tainted by some kind of rot that cut through the air and Alcinder felt the earth shake with many footprints approaching. He felt the hairs on his neck raise. "Peter, Aliza... We should go to my house. We can hide there.. " there was urgency in his voice, at least until he saw what was approaching them and he fought to keep from laughing.
It was the Red Queens old card army, but the metal square patterning of their uniforms the made it seem like they were moving cards, was long since faded, the metal coroded and pieces were missing. The rotting smell was that of the beasts inside the armour that seemingly were falling appart much like their suits.
"Ha! The Red Queen hasn't even bothered to keep her army in check! They're falling to pieces! Jesus, that's a sure sign that Wonderland is better now. The Red Queen has fallen." Al declared triumphantly. Though the "soldiers" before him were rather grisly and gave him a sickening feeling. He wanted to leave even so.

Jonah followed quickly behind the three, before jumping down the hole he already knew existed. The feeling of flight filled his bones and he landed on the ground, at the top of a hill. He looked down it to see Alcinder on top of Aliza, begging her to awake, and Peter still getting his berings. Running away from them he headed towards the Red Queens castle, only a brisk jog not ten minutes away, to tell her they had arrived. He breathed in as the stench of her knights buffetted him and he quickly ran through her courtyard, twisted roses not cared for in ages over grown, thorns tangling and tripping his feet up, shrubbery once shaped and proud now falling into disparity. His footsteps echoed on the black and white chess board floor, though weeds sprouted up from the cracks and dust dulled the once shiny black and marred the marbled white. The battle that had taken place here where the White Queen had rushed her army in to take hold of the Red Queens castle once more had ended brilliantly, with the White Queen and her army being over taken and killed. Any survivors were quickly murdered. However, the cost to the castle and to her own nights was tremendous. The castle hasn't been fixed up or cleaned since the battle, now that the Red Queen lived in the White Queens castle, and this was just a hang out for her old, rotting knights. Still, she had agreed to meet him here.
"Your majesty?" He called, though his voice echoed off the walls, and all he could here was the clanking of dull metal and scuffling of weary feet.
The castle was empty of its queen who now sat atop a throne of ivory, ruling all of Wonderland.

Peter caught Aliza when she tripped, holding onto her elbows until he was sure she was steady on her feet. Aliza suggested going back home. Peter looked at, taken aback. How could they go back? He could barely remember how they got back home last time.

He looked around them, this was Wonderland, there was no denying that, but he couldn't shake the feeling that something wasn't quite right. Al's voice trailed off and Peter followed his friend's line of sight. "Isn't that just our luck?"

The army of cards went filing past, looking rustier than Peter remembered. The Red Queen had always insisted that her army took pride in their appearance. Their mere presence meant she was still around, "Hate to put a downer on everything, but if the army's doing patrol's, wouldn't that mean the Red Queen's still around?"

He watched the army as they passed, not daring to breath a sigh of relief until the very last card was out of sight. Peter stood back, scratching his head, "Al's right. Let's go to his place and we can think about where we're gonna go from there," he turned to Al, "lead the way."u

Willow sat in the white queen's throne with a sense of triumph and loneliness. She didn't know what exactly to do with herself anymore. Her knights were out of control and the only way she has ever dealt with anything, was to chop off heads. She sighed to herself listening to the sound her breathing bouncing off the empty castle walls. She use to come to the castle so she could bask in the glory of her victory, but now she is only there because she needs some self reassurance. Willow mentally shook herself and stood up pacing the floor. "Rule with an iron fist. That was the only way." She said to herself.
She took a deep breathe, taking in the musk of the abandon castle. She didn't come there to sulk, she was there to think about what was left to do. There has been something bothering her for a while, but she hasn't able to figure it out just yet. Finally getting back on track she was only to be interrupted by a pair of footsteps. "Who dares interrupt me?" She snaps.
Looking over her shoulder she saw a familiar face. Not believing her own eyes she turned all the way around to face her disbelief. Holding her head high with a sinister smile she says "Welcome back to wonderland?"
