Human Appearance:
ImageImage

Vayne, in his human form, has pure, saphire blue eyes and milky, pale skin. His hair is a dark brown and always seems messy and windswept. It's kept short, and his bangs don't quite reach down to his gentle, tired eyes. His facial shape is a step away from heart shaped with a strong, pronounced jawline and rounded chin. Standing at a towering 6'4" and weighting 173 pounds, he is a very tall, but lean man with much more muscle than fat. He has large hands with longer than average fingers. On his back are long scars running from the tops of his shoulderblades to the inward curve of his spine at the small of his back from where his wings were torn from his skin to create his human form, despite how he keeps his wings in his true form. Despite his tall, well postured form, he emits an air of world-weariness, as if the weight of the world is bearing down on his shoulders.

True Appearance:
Image

In his true form, Vayne is encased in heavy, thick armor. It's a heavenly plate, forged by divine powers for the use of angels specifically. From his back bloom two snowy, massive wings (wingspam when fully spread, from tip to tip, is about sixteen and a half feet). The feathers of his wings are the softest of downs, and seem to glow in any source of light. At his side, in a sheath, is a large blade, forged with silver and the same angelic metal his armor is made from, as well as having salt crystals mixed into the metal. Under the armor however, Vayne is more or less the same. His skin is a bit paler and his eyes seem to glow a white-blue, his very being seeming radiant. His height shoots up to a massive 7'0" and an unknown weight, as if to stand for the might of the high heavens.

Likes:
Vayne absolutely loves music. He's talented in playing many kinds of classical, string instruments such as Violin, Piano, and Harp. However, he can hardly play anything else besides those three. Vayne enjoys watching ,being around, and the sound of water. Strangely enough, Vayne also has taken a strange liking to frozen goods such as Ice Cream. He can't explain why, but frozen desserts delight him.

Dislikes:
Vayne greatly dislikes when people assume Angels so nothing except fight for the 'greater good' for the sake of humans. Vayne hates grating, loud noises. The sound of urban traffic gives him a headache and the accompanying scent of urban pollution makes him feel ill. Vayne hates war-thirsty demons, blaming them for causing the war and bloodshed in heaven.

Why you left your realm/Why do you want to be human:
A war is raging in Heaven between those who wish to stay out of the conflicts of the other realms and those who insist on intervening. This has unfortunately caused a civil war between the angels themselves. Having seen enough bloodshed and too heartbroken and tired to kill anymore of his brothers or sisters, he opened a gateway and threw himself to earth.

Personality:
Vayne is a quirky individual, seeming insescure and somewhat paranoid most of the time. He takes most things literally and doesn't quite understand sarcasm. He's mostly a quiet man, preferring with listen with a smile then speak. Highly superstitious, he likes to keep his thoughts to himself, but will usually tell people what's on his mind if they ask once or twice. Not having been to earth in over two thousand years, he seems to often be stuck in a semi-perpetual state of confusion. However, when in conversation, he is a rather friendly - albeit socially awkward - man, who does his best to be personable despite his... social handicaps

History:
Created thousands of years ago to serve as a warrier and protector of heaven, Vayne roamed the divine skies with many other Angels. Watching over various events, he made sure events plotted by fate went as planned, and would correct it if it went awry. If a natural disaster planned by fate didn't occur, Vayne would cause it himself - Even coming down to earth itself if necessary. A loyal servant of the lord, Vayne carried out his duties flawlessly. It went on like this for thousands of years, until there began trouble in paradise. In the haven Vayne called home, Angels began to be struck down on earth. A panic soon began in the divine skies, but they were told to go about their business watching over events on earth. Slowly but surely, events planned by fate failed to occur more and more often, the angels beginning to tire as they endlessly repaired the earth's broken clockwork.

Soon, a messenger came and told of a great war in another realm. Some angels believed that they should intervene in the wars, lest the natural order be destroyed. Others, however, believed that the quarrels of other realms are not of heaven's concern and that all would fix itself and the natural order would perservere. It was clear however that the brothers and sisters of heaven began to split and turn against each other. Before Vayne knew it, he was thrown into a war he wanted no part in. Unsure which side he belonged to, he was ordered to kill his brothers and sisters for a purpose he largely did not understand. Obeying orders his whole life, he wasn't used to resisting command, and slaughtered his kin for A thousand and some hundreds of years, Vayne's soul becoming tired. Finally gathering the courage to disobey from his heartbreak of killing his beloved brothers and sisters, he passed behind the backs of all in heaven. Opening the gateway to earth, he tiredly closed his eyes and threw himself off of heaven, plummeting to earth.

Notes:
Vayne also loves Turtles. Blue turtles, green turtles, all kids of turtles - He just loves them. Vayne misses his brothers and sisters in heaven, and feels the weight of a great regret and guilt from killing so many. On his wrist, asigil is branded into his skin - The mark of an angel.

So begins...

Vayne looked behind him, doubling checking that he wasn't being followed. Not a single soul or angel was in sight. Slowly, he turned to look forward once more, staring into empty air. Where he stood now was what every pious human dreamed of, the radiant gates of heaven. Normally, an angel would be stationed to let in souls that deserved an afterlife in paradise and to give them a warm welcome, but now, the gates simply hung open. Looking down at the dropoff to the mortal realm, he felt sweat bead on his brow. Sapphire eyes narrowed in determination and he grasped the golden chain around his neck which marked him a soldier in the war, tearing it from around his neck with a harsh tug. Throwing the chain onto the ground behind him, he launched himself off of the edge of heaven - Leaving himself to plummet, wings spread wide, to earth, a world he hadn't visited in two thousand years.

The rushing wind was a familiar, comforting sound, soothing him as he began his fall from heaven. Closing his eyes, he assured himself this was the right decision to make. If being a warrior of heaven meant being a slayer of his brothers and sisters, then he would be a mortal. In the back of his mind, he wondered, was the weight of guilt in his heart assisting his quick fall? Suddenly - Resistance. Gasping, Vayne felt himself begin to tumble through the air, the grace of flight leaving him. Panicked, he looked to his wings. They seemed to almost be dissolving, melting away into nothing. The yell of panic he let out was unheard over the sound of harsh gusts of wind. Finding it's way under his helmet, the air snatched his helmet, tearing it from him before it too dissolved. No longer in control of his descent, he flailed wildly, armor and wings disintegrating. Unknown to the mortified Vayne, he was developing a human form to wear among mortals, to walk among them as one of their own. With his armor gone, leaving him in the simple pants that he wore under, the final phase completed itself. With a horrible ripping noise, the remnants of his wings were torn from him, sealing immediately and forming long scars along his back.

Before he had time to register what had happened, he was thrown into a city. Buildings all around him as he continued to fall, rocketing down, still invisible to the humans surrounding him. With a great splash and pillar of water, he plunged into a large pond. After several moments of being a mess of flailing limbs, Vayne pulled himself to the surface. He took a deep gasp of air, not noticing the stares of the people around him. To the humans, he only became visible once he touched part of their world, and now that he choked and floundered in their water, they wouldn't be able to tell the difference between him, and an every day human resident of planet earth.

Managing to drag himself to the edge of the water, he pulled himself up on solid ground. A quick look around allowed him to realize he had crash-landed in, probably, a very large pond in the middle of a park. Breathing heavily to catch his breath, he felt the world around him grow hazy. Slowly, his eyes closed, a line of blood running down his forehead from where he hit the floor of the pond. Moments later, he settled into semi-consciousness, able to speak and hear, but not see or move. For now, he was fine with that.

Noah Lucas Locklear

Sighing, Noah restlessly stared at the ceiling. Trying to take a nap is hard for the Alaskan boy, when you have all those distracting sounds out in the city, and the fact that you've got obnoxious neighbors isn't that enjoyable either. For a quick moment, his eyes slowly shifted to glance through the glass of his window, the sky growing dark. Another nightly stroll in the city shouldn't hurt.
The boy sat up in his bed, stretching and hiding his hands in the sleeves of his baggy sweatshirt. As he brushed a piece of chestnut hair away from his eyes, he shifted his body and hopped off the king-size mattress, slipping on his converse shoes and pulling up his jeans which seemed to slip down slightly.

Noah headed downstairs with hushed footsteps, careful not to wake his mother whom slept soundly on the couch. Sticking his head in the refrigerator, he fished out his banana smoothie in which he failed to finish the previous day and shuddered from the cold feeling. The Alaskan boy sighed, once again, and exited his home, glancing down the street before heading off, one hand in his sweatshirt pocket and the other gripping his smoothie.
As the sky grew darker and deeper, he looked up the twinkling stars with his emerald eyes, thinking for a moment before continuing his walk. Though, as he rounded a corner and saw the familiar pond he walked by during his strolls, he noticed a figure near it. Instantaneously he felt himself tense, and approaching it slowly, it gradually came to view that it was a person.
Setting down his cold treat on one of the benches, he took a mental note that the odd person didn't seem to be moving. Was he asleep? He couldn't be dead, though. Noah could see he was obviously breathing.

Chewing nervously on his sleeves, braces grazing over the material, he watched the person in silence. He was soaked, and, was that blood as well? Getting down on his knees to examine the man thoroughly, he seemed to be older than him. At least in his 20s or early 30s. Wait! Maybe test something..
He cleared his throat and spoke with his oh-so-usual soft spoken voice, somewhat muffled since he was gnawing on the poor material that were his sleeves.

"Are you okay? What happened? Wait, can you hear me?" Being the trusting and naive boy he is, he decided to help him, pulling up his sleeves and scooting towards the pond to cup his hands with water and try to wash the blood off of the man's forehead.

Vayne lay there, still - Not really thinking, just existing for the time being. He had no clue how long he had been there for, it felt like hours. Occasionally, he would hear the footsteps of someone walking past him on the path and he would try to call to them, but each time he was ignored. Slowly, Vayne began to wonder if this was truly the right choice. The people of earth always seemed so caring when he looked down from the heavens, and the souls he had greeted at the gate were always so kind... Was he truly on earth? Left to his thoughts, a heavy feeling began to weigh him down - guilt. Should he truly have left the Garrison? Was it right to come to the human realm? Did they not help him because they could tell he was different? A weakness took over his limbs and the warm liquid on his forehead didn't still and grow cold for quite a while, and by that time, the tips of his fingers and toes had gone numb.

Suddenly, a soft voice spoke to him. If he hadn't been on earth, the softness would have made him think it was a fellow angel. Trying to open to his eyes, he barely succeeded in opening them just the tiniest bit when they closed again.

"Y-Yes... I believe so." he answered the boy in a similarly soft and gentle tone. "I... I leapt from heaven." Naively, he began to explain like he would have two thousand years ago. At that time, they accepted it almost on the dot and rarely asked for proof, and when he gave them proof, they too accepted him as an Angel of the lord. At the time he was in now it would have just sounded like he had jumped off a building or was delirious from the knock on the head. Suddenly, he felt water on his skin and involuntarily flinched. Once the semi-dried blood was mostly cleaned from Vayne's forehead, he attempted to open his eyes again. This time, he managed to open them about halfway and to keep them open, nearly crystalline blue eyes were hazy and were unfocused at first, but soon saw clearly. "You are very kind, different then many of your people. Thank you." This would have been the point he probably would have gotten up if his limbs were ready to move more than an inch.

Noah Lucas Locklear

Brushing his tongue against his braces as he thought, he nodded as the male explained where he was from, trying to force himself to believe it all. Leapt from heaven? Hopefully he isn't too mentally challenged or delirious. Maybe he has schizotypal? Who knows. "Thank you. I appreciate that. I just don't like seeing anyone hurt." Noah explained, chewing on his sleeves nervously once again.

Deciding to introduce himself, he inhaled to speak, and exhaled softly for his own personal comfort. "My name is Noah Locklear. I come from Alaska. What is your name?" He asked. He would pick him up and ask his mother if he could stay the night, but since he's not that buff, one of them might end up getting hurt.

Fiddling with one of his pockets, he pulled out his wallet which had a picture of an Alaskan cod on it, gaze shifting from the male to his wallet. "Are you hungry or thirsty? I'm assuming you can't really move, so, perhaps I could get something for you? I'm sure there's at least a gas station or a couple of nearby stores open." Noah offered, completely forgetting about his unfinished treat and focusing on the limp man.

Though, he flinched when he felt something vibrate in his pocket. Fishing out his phone, he paled when he realized it was his mother, and as he answered it, he pulled the phone away from his ear when she bombarded him with questions. "Where are you? Are you hurt? Did you do your homework? Why aren't you in the house?" "I'm fine. I'm taking my occasional walk. I did do my homework, and I'm not hurt. I just ran into something important, that's all."

He could hear her sigh into the phone, and taking it that she calmed down, he himself sighed. "Fine. Be back soon though." Noah nodded and murmured an "I love you" into the cell phone and soon hung up, cheeks flushing over in embarrassment. "Excuse me. That was my mother. She tends to worry a lot." Noah said with a soft smile, gripping his wallet. "As I said, if you're hungry or thirsty, I don't mind getting you something."

Vayne quietly looked glanced around with his half lidded eyes, looking almost confused at everything around him. Things seemed... different than they were when he was here last. Where were the expansive fields and the horses? The lights were brighter than the were before, and they certainly weren't fueled by fire. As he boy spoke again, his eyes looked to him. "I see... That truly is very kind of you. I pray that to you, the fates are kind." he said with a weak smile.

He seemed attentive as Noah introduced himself, going so far as to nod his head best he could. "It is a pleasure to meet you Noah Locklear of Alaska. I am Vayne Phantas, an Angel of the lord." Slowly, feelings began to return to his fingers and toes, and he wiggled them experimentally. When he asked if he was hungry however, he gave him a confused look. "I do not feel hunger, nor thirst - Angels have no need for food or drink." At the moment, there was a grating, growling sound. Feeling his stomach churn, he made a face of discomfort. "What is that sound?"

Hearing Noah speak to someone else, he glanced over. What was that contraption? Was that a rock he had pressed to his ear? Why was he walking to it? Was it talking back? Managing to cock his head a bit, he bit his lip. Did this rock as mystical qualities of communication, perhaps? Vayne suddenly felt a longing for speaking rock of his own - It was fascinating!

He snapped out of his fascinated trance when Noah spoke to him again. "I see... You speak to your mother through that stone?" he asked. "Curious..." he said, raising his arm off the ground a foot or two as his strength began to slowly return. "Where do you get those stones? Would it be possible for me to obtain one?" Another growl from his stomach seemed to confuse him and he made a face of discontent. "What a curious world this is..."

Kalin was on one of her usual morning runs when she noticed a strange man and a young boy over by the pond. She stopped running and looked over, unsure what to do. She shrugged her shoulders slightly and decided to see what was going on. The man seemed a bit dissheveled, and boy didn't seem like he knew what to do. Kalin walked over timidly and looked at Vayne. At first, she was creeped out, but after looking him over fully, Kalin was at ease. This man didn't strike her as a pervert... maybe he was just lost. Kalin waved a little and said, "Um, hi. I was wondering if you needed any help or anything. You seem to be a bit uh.. frazzled."

Vayne glanced about, confused as another human approached him. He noted that she seemed somewhat unnerved by him and seemed confused. Humans were strange, and he wondered how they truly lived under the heaven he had once called home.

"Hello?" he greeted her, confusedly, one hand moving to grip his stomach, which had began to pain him from hunger. "Please, do not fear me. I am an angel of the lord, i shall not harm you." he said in an attempt to ease her. Reaching up with a weak hand, he tried to brush some strands of hair from his foreheard, but found that they had been glued there by some leftover, dried blood.

As he tried to sit up, he only managed to support himself with one arm before the great soreness in his arms made itself known and he stopped. "Where do your kind take shelter?" he asked. At this point, he was sure he just looked like he had a mental problem or had hit his head a bit too hard, although this was unknownst to him. His dirtied white garments also made him look homeless, if it wasn't for the embroidering around the collar and cuffs of his shirt.

Kalin looked around to find that the boy that had been there earlier seemed to have disappeared. She sat down on her knees and tried to smile, the corners of her mouth turning up the slightest bit. For some reason, Kalin was not afraid of this man, as crazy as he might seem.

"I think you need to see a doctor. Can you stand?" Kalin was still trying to figure out how she was going to get this guy to a hospital. She didn't have a cell phone, and there was no one else in the park who could be of assistance. She sighed and decided she had better go look for help. "Look, wait here while I go find someone. We need to get you to a hospital. You hit your head pretty hard, and we need to get all this blood cleaned up. Here, put your hands in the pond and see if you can wipe some of the blood away." Kalin also picked up her water bottle and sat it next to the strange man. "And if you need a drink of water, I don't mind if you use my water bottle. I don't have any uh... germs or anything." Kalin then walked off, glancing back at the man every so often before heading out towards the street.

Vayne watched as the girl knelt down beside him, a light smile on her face. He was relieved to see that the girl was not frightened of him, and seemed to approach him of her own free will. However, when she suggested that he saw a doctor, he cocked his head. A doctor? Now, why on earth would he need to see a Doctor? He was an Angel of the lord, surely he would recover in minu- Oh. Vayne blinked, quietly descending into metal idleness as he realized it had been hours as his limbs still were weak. But now, why would he need a doctor? Perhaps it was a custom of theirs.

"I believe i may be able to, yes." he said, heavy, weak limbs slowly moving to assist him to a standing position, he got halfway up on his feet before he was forced to sit back down and close his eyes, his hands pressing against his closed lids. So, perhaps the human realm worked differently than the plains of heaven. So after a moment, he simply became still. "Very well," he agreed, looking down into the water. He leaned forward just enough to gather a small mount of water in his cupped hands, splashing it on his face and slowly cleaning the blood off of himself. When she offered him water however, he turned and smiled at her. "I would not wish to deprive you of such a valuable fluid, we angels do not require food or drink." he claimed once more. As ridiculous as it may have seemed, he had been an Angel for three thousand years, and had never eaten or sated his thirst once, for he previously had no hunger nor parched throat. As she walked away, he continued to clean off the blood until it was all gone.

Now, where he he find shelter to live here? Perhaps he would simply ask one of these kindly humans, surely they would offer a messenger of the lord a place to stay?

Kalin walked down the streets until she found a young woman who was waiting for the bus stop. She ran over and tapped her on the shoulder. "Excuse me m'am, but I really need your help. There is an injured man in Mulberry Park over by the pond. He can't stand or walk. Can I please use your phone to call an ambulance?"

Woman: "Oh my goodness! Yes you may! Here!" The woman handed Kalin her phone and Kalin dialed 911. She wasn't sure how badly hurt the man was, so she figured she might as well be extra safe and call an ambulance. After giving the operator the address and telling her of the situation, Kalin handed the phone back to the woman. "Thank you so much!" The woman nodded and looked at Kalin with concern in her eyes. "Are you sure you don't want me to come with you? I would be happy to help in any way I can."

Kalin nodded. "That would be great. Thank you so much." She and the woman headed back to the park together. Kalin was relieved to find Vayne still there, with much of the blood gone and washed away. He didn't look quite as scary as he had before. Kalin went over to Vayne and said, "We have an ambulance coming to pick you up now. I know this must be disorienting after you hit your head so hard, but don't worry. We'll get your injuries taken care of in no time."

Vayne gazed down into the water, looking at his reflection. He cocked his head at himself, realizing it had been quite a while since he had seen himself without his helmet. He would have to get used to seeing himself like that, however, since his armor had been stripped away from him when he had fallen from the graces of god. Momentarily, he wondered if this was truly a good idea, but quickly corrected himself once more. It would be better to live and die as a human than to go on for eternity in heaven after killing his kin or dying at the hands of one he called 'brother' or 'sister'. He shuddered, looking up at the sky before glancing around. Earth looked like a pleasant place really...

Suddenly, the girl approached him again along with another woman. An ambulance? Vayne looked at them, cocking his head. An ambulence? Wasn't that a kind of sound or atmosphere? How could sound be coming for him? What a curious world this was! After a moment, he spoke up.

"What is an Ambulance? Is it not a kind of sound?" he asked, brow furrowed in confusion. Without the blood on his face, Vayne simply looked like a very lost and confused - but handsome - man. The white clothes he wore stuck to his form, wet because of the water he had been using to wash his face. He was extremely slender, with sharp features and long limbs and digits. He had that kind of 'perfect model' type of body. After all, the lord had designed him that way - To be a beautiful humanoid, divine messenger. "What a curious world. Your talking rocks and healing sounds..."

The woman smiled pleasantly and said, "Hello. Are you alright? It seems you hit your head pretty hard. We'll get you to a hospital and you'll be better in no time." Sheila turned to Kalin, her eyebrows furrowed in concern. She lowered her voice as she said to Kalin, "How hard did he hit his head? Are you sure he didn't escape from an.. from an asylum or something?" Kalin just shrugged and shook her head slightly. She turned towards Vayne and sat down in the grass, leaving a wide amount of space in between him and her. Might as well at least try to get this guy's memory back. Maybe he's just forgotten everything...

Her voice was calm but hesitant as she spoke, trying to find the right words. "Look, um, an ambulance is a vehicle, kind of like a car that picks up sick or injured people and takes them to a place called a hospital. At a hospital, people's wounds are treated and healed. They stay there until they get better and can function normally before going home. Uh... yeah. That's what an ambulance is. Erm..." Kalin fidgeted, lacing her fingers together and lightly thumping her tennis shoes on the grass. Sheila was standing by the street, waiting for the sounds of an ambulance.

Vayne continued to look rather puzzled before looking down at his lap, pondering. Wow, things seemed to have changed quite a bit since he last visited. Looking back up at the woman, he offered her a charming smile. "Yes. I'm quite alright. I did not expect the fall from heaven to be so... hard." However, when she suggested that he may be from an asylum, he shook his head. "No, i do not come from such a place. I have fallen from the plains of the lord." he answered with a pleasant, but tired, expression. He was rather sore, and there was a strange hollow feeling in his stomach.

As they began to explain an Ambulance to him, as well as a hospital, he listened closely, as if captivated. Slowly, his head cocked to the side and he would nod, showing his understanding. "I see..." Thankfully, the angel seemed to know what a car was. Sure he was behind on the times by a thousand or two years, but he did check in occasionally to see things, so he did know a thing or two - sort of. Suddenly, there was a tight feeling in his stomach and he groaned, placing his hands against his stomach. Was was that curious feeling. Looking up at Kalin after it passed, he frowned. "Might you know this sensation? It's a tight feeling in the stomach? It's rather terrible. Do all humans feel this?" The sensation returned with another angry growl from his stomach. "Such a terrible thing, i apologize so!"

Kalin couldn't help smiling just a tiny bit at Vayne. He was almost like a child, always curious and always learning. She reached into her pocket and pulled out one of the CLIF snack bars she always made sure to carry with her whenever she went running. "Here. It's blueberry flavored. The pain you're feeling in your stomach means that you need food. You're hungry, and if you eat food it will make the ache go away." Kalin handed the bar to Vayne just as the sound of an ambulance echoed in the distance. Sheila came over and said, "If you weren't able to tell, the ambulance will be here any second." Sheila looked Vayne up and down before asking, "Do you think you can walk? Or do we need to ask the ambulance workers to bring a stretcher?"

Vayne looked at her curiously. "What a sensation?" he said, almost as if he was somewhat panicked at the idea. However, when she offered him a morsel of food, he looked at it curiously. "Blueberry flavored?" he said quietly before looking up at her again. "Ah... This is hunger? But, i have only eaten once before." he said, looking up at her. After a moment though, he looked downwards before his eyes flicked back up again and he took the snack from her. Slowly, he opened it and gave it a curious look. Well, bon appetite. Slowly, he slipped a corner into his mouth and bit off just a tiny corner. Suddenly, his expression was shocked and perplexed. After finishing the bite he had taken. "Does all food taste like this?"

As the woman came back over, he looked over to her while simultaneously shoving more of the CLIF bar into his mouth, apparently enjoying it's foreign taste. As she seemed to examine him with a quick glance, he cocked his head. Unsure, Vayne swallowed his mouthful before slowly beginning to stand again. However, before he managed to stand, there was a pain that shot up his left leg and he dropped back down to sit on the ground, cringing and grasping his left ankle. "I believe i can... But i would need time." he said. Suddenly, he looked up at the woman. "Stretcher? N-No, i do not believe i need to be stretched. I am quite satisfied with my current proportions." he said, looking up at her with a child-like innocence and sincerity.

Sheila's frown only deepened at Vayne's response to her question about the stretcher. She signaled for the men to come with a stretcher before pulling Kalin aside. "Now, I know that we don't know this man very well but- he might have some serious brain damage. We don't know his mental state either, and he seems to be quite confused. I just wanted to warn you to keep your distance."

Kalin only nodded in response. What Sheila was saying could certainly be true, but for some reason Kalin was not afraid. There was a calming innocence about this man; He seemed more like a comic book character who had been brought to life than a man from a mental institution. As the men approached Vayne with the stretcher, Kalin walked back over to him. She scratched her head a little and then crossed her arms. She was feeling restless but tried to keep still as she spoke. "I'm glad you enjoyed the snack bar. Uhm.. different types of food have different tastes. Some tastes you will like and others you wont, but uh, these men are going to help you get into the ambulance. What they're carrying is called a stretcher. It doesn't actually stretch people, but it helps people get to where they need to go if they can't get there on their own." Kalin pointed at Vayne's leg and continued, "Seeing as you can't stand up for very long, I think the using the stretcher would be best."

The men set the stretcher on the ground and one came over to Vayne. "Hello sir. From what we've been told, it seems that it would a good idea to let us carry you to the ambulance. We will bring you no harm." The man spoke to Vayne as if he were speaking to a five-year-old. It was obvious he thought something was wrong with his head.

Seeing the way the ambulance worker spoke to Vayne irritated Kalin just slightly. She began rocking back and forth on her heels, uneasy. The whole situation was a bit disorienting, and if she didn't return home soon her grandmother would be worried. How would I explain this to Nini? She would totally freak... Or maybe not. Helping people is always a good thing to do but- if it were someone who might be mentally unstable then- Ugh, I don't know... Kalin wrestled back in forth with herself before finally deciding to at least go with Vayne to the hospital to make sure he would be okay. She could explain everything later, but she would leave most of the details out.

Vayne looked at Sheila as she explained to the ambulance workers that he may have serious brain damage and his mental stability was questionable and frowned a bit. "I promise you that i am very sound of mind!" he said, almost as if he were begging her rather than correcting her. "Your world is simply very, very confusing to me. I have not touched upon the ground of your world in over two thousand years!" Vayne finally fell silent, looking up at the skies. What if someone there was laughing at him from above, one of his brothers or sisters? What if the conflict resolved and he was here on earth for eternity?

When Kalin spoke, he was pulled form his thoughts and offered her a tiny smile. "Yes, i was wonderful. I greatly enjoyed that morsel!" he said. "But it's very strange... I don't think i have truly eaten before." As she began to explain the stretcher, he listened with his sapphire eyes wide with curiosity. He seemed like a man hungry for knowledge, despite acting very childlike at the moment. It was like being born all over again. "I see." he replied, indicating that he understood. However, as the other man approached him, he smiled.

"Hello, Mr. Reeves." he said, speaking the man's name as if he had known him for a while. "Thank you for postponing going home to your family to drive that... 'ambulance' here and help me. I very much appreciate it, and it's very kind of you." he said, blinking as if he had said something normal, like his name rather than the man's name and story. As the men began to help him up, he winced as he put weight on his leg ankle and his vision swirled the lightest bit. As they helped him onto the stretcher, he insisted on sitting until he finally gave in and did what they told him.

Wow, is that what the clouds looked like to the humans? How lovely. They're fluffy shapes were calming, and changed little as they floated on a breeze across the sky. How delightful, Oh- Now they were gone. As they loaded him into the ambulance and began to cushion his head and check him, he began to grow very uneasy and almost a bit panicked, eyes growing wide as they touched him and muttered to one another.

Kalin relaxed a little after seeing Vayne was cooperating with the ambulance workers. She turned to Sheila. "Thank you so much for your help. I really appreciate it, and I'm sure Vayne does as well. I can take things from here. I'm just going to make sure he makes it to the hospital and gets settled before heading home." Sheila smiled and gave Kalin an awkward hug. It was only awkward because Kalin didn't do anything... she wasn't used to being hugged by other people. "You're welcome. I hope he will be okay. It was nice meeting you. If you need any help, here." Sheila reached into her purse and pulled out a writing pad and pen. She wrote down her phone number and handed it to Kalin. "I don't mind if you give me a call." Kalin thanked Sheila once again and watched as Sheila walked away. What a nice person... I barely know her and she gave me her phone number.

One of the ambulance workers, Mr. Reeves, called over to Kalin. "We're getting ready to leave! Are you coming?" Kalin turned around and ran to Mr. Reeves. "I'm coming.." Mr. Reeves helped Kalin up into the ambulance. One of the first things she noticed was how anxious and unsure Vayne was. Kalin put her hand on Vayne's shoulder for a second before taking it away and saying, "It will be okay. I promise." Her voice was steady and calm as a still river. She didn't smile, but there was warmth in her voice. Kalin herself didn't understand how she could seem to care so much for a man she just met who might (who knows?) be crazy.

Vayne shivered a bit at the cold air in the Ambulance touched his dampened skin. The sensation was unfamiliar to him, since the air of the heavens was always warm, welcoming to those who ascended into it's graces. When Kalin got into the ambulance with him, he began to calm a bit, but still looked distinctly uncomfortable. However, he was assured by Kalinn's presence, which made it a bit less noticable. As one of the medics began to part his hair to reveal a painful looking cut on his scalp. He winced as they pressed a small cloth against it, feeling the burn of the alcohol in it.

Suddenly, Vayne was bombarded with a barrage of questions, as if to test how connected he was to reality still. The usual. Where was he from? How old was he? What was his name? Where were they right now? Of course, he answered honestly; Heaven, 3527 years old, Vayne Phantas, and Earth. After a moment, they began to murmur about him being delusional, Vayne becoming very quiet, almost as if he were hurt - almost. If anything, he felt much more different , very... inhuman. Was he really that much of an oddity here? He didn't like lying, but perhaps he may have to.

Kalin noticed that Vayne was answering the questions as honestly as possible. She cocked her head to the side a little and studied him. Maybe he is delusional... Maybe I'm getting myself way in over my head. I am going to get in so much trouble for this. Kalin looked at her watch. School had already started. Her grandmother was probably worried sick, and her father was going to absolutely blow up at her as soon as he got home tonight. Kalin sighed deeply and her expression faltered just a little. Now she looked merely like a sad, tired, and lonely child. I really am taking a nutjob to a hospital. A guy I've never even met but for some reason feel like I have some connection to. I don't know what to do.

Vayne turned his head to the side, looking away from both the medics and Kalin. While the humans were kind and pleasant enough to help him, why did they think him crazy? Did they no longer place their trust in the heavens and watched over them? He didn't say anything as they continued to ask him questions. What are the names of your parents? Do you have any relatives we can contact? How many brothers and sister do you have? Vayne looked at them with a kind of saddened expression.

"God is my father, and i have no mother. You cannot reach my family except through prayer. I have hundreds of brothers and sister, but most of them perished in the war." Vayne appeared delusional then, yes, but also seemed more like a shellshocked vet of some kind of combat. Each time he opened his mouth, something crazy just spewed out - At least, that's what it seemed to the medics. Looking up, Mr. Reeves spoke to Kalin.

"Do you know anything about this man? Any information would be helpful." he said, glancing towards the front of the ambulance to see the Hospital very quickly approaching, they were be there in mere minutes, at most five.

Kalin shook her head and shrugged her shoulders. "No. I was on one of my usual runs in the park this morning when I noticed him sprawled out over by the pond. I made sure he was not in any immediate danger before going to find some help." Mr. Reeves just nodded. As the ambulance pulled up to the hospital, the men got ready to take Vayne into the hospital. Kalin looked at Vayne with a little pity in her eyes. It must be scary, being alone and not knowing what in the world is going on or what will happen to you. Maybe I should stay. I'm already in enough trouble as it is... "Do you want me to come with you?" Kalin asked Vayne. "I don't mind. I don't really have anywhere else better to be." Her voice dropped a little. "Especially not home..."
