These five words are the most noticeable traits in his personality. He usually keeps to himself and tries to only say things when he needs to. He pretty much reads books most of the time. He is an autodidact of books, so he is able to read books with incredible speed. He doesn't get angry in most situations and even if he is bullied just has them do whatever they want and then he goes on his way. He tries his best to be polite at all times. He forces himself to speak in order to be polite. At the dinner table, is one of the few places that someone will hear him say a word. He is not strong physically, but his mind is definitely one of the strongest around. He probably knows more about some things than a professor at a college. He has a wide array of knowledge on various subjects. Whether it's from Apples to Zebras... He probably knows something interesting about them. He is very strong willed. He will not give in to things like peer pressure and other things he thinks are for the people with a weak mind. He doesn't necessarily think of himself as better than anyone else, he thinks that he can't really judge anyone because he doesn't know their background... but his judging side will get the better of him when he sees someone really dumb. He might be quiet and he might not pay attention to anyone, but he can definitely keep secrets and be trusted to do anything. If you ask him to do something and he thinks that your intentions are okay, he'll do it. If you tell him to keep something private, he'll keep it private.

Jacob was born to to two parents who didn't want to have a child. They agreed to give him up for adoption, but no one would take him in. So, he was sent to an orphanage. As he grew up, no one continued to adopt him, leaving him as a loner in the orphanage. All the other orphanage kids would bully him and he wouldn't fight back, he wouldn't scream, he would just sit there and take the hits. He didn't have any desire to live when he was little because no one wanted him, but the only reason he continued to live on was because of the man in the infirmary that he would visit after being beaten. That nice man would always show care to him and always tell him that no matter what other people said or did to him that he couldn't give up living until it was his time to leave. After spending twelve years in the orphanage, that man that worked in the infirmary raped Jacob while having a gun pointed to his head. When the man had dropped the gun, he picked it up and accidentally fired right into his forehead and blood spilt everywhere. The police left with the body of the man from the orphanage and Jacob was scarred for life. He finally turned to learning to find solace. He then grew into a person that was fascinated with learning, but this came with a price. The price he paid was heavy, because as he learned more and more, his social skills plummeted to a bare minimum. He knew that he is not supposed to judge others and be nice, but that was really it. He pretty much only spoke when spoken to and even then, he might not talk. He just read books all the time. He never attended school, though the orphanage told him that he should.
By the time he was age sixteen, they asked him to move out and find his own place to stay. He realized that he finally had to find work, so he did. He worked at the library and his passion for books only grew. The head librarian told him he could sleep at the library if he liked, and he graciously accepted. He slept there for a few months before he racked up enough money to gain for an apartment that he had paid three months rent in advance. He stayed there and learned until he was eligible for college at the age of sixteen and a half. He didn't want to leave, so he learned all of his subjects by himself in his apartment and learned while he worked at his job as a librarian.
The day he received the invitation to arrive on the show, he thought it was a joke. He didn't think it was real. He didn't really want to do anything else except stay in town and do and do what he usually did. The only thing that convinced him was that it might be a learning experience if he went. So, he did. He made his list of seven things and is ready to live with some people he has never met before, not that he will probably ever talk to them though.
