Yoshiko's mother walked on the road until a car came by and stopped, "You need a ride, Miss?" the man asked. Her mother nodded and got in the car. She told the man where to go and he took her there. She got out of and ran inside.
"Ms. Pheonix." Yoshiko's mother yelled panicked. "Mrs. Pheonix, please. I need your help." she said, seeing the woman in the room. "I just... I just killed my daughter. We had an accident. I had a drink. I'm sorry." she cried. "Please. Make me her." Yoshiko's mom cried more, "Make me Yoshiko."

Patricia stared at the flustered woman in front of her. "Well.. If you've killed someone, I shouldn't really..." She faded off, looking the woman up and down yet again. My god, poor woman.. I have to help her. She walked around the reception desk, putting her arm around the woman. "How could I say no to a woman in such a state as you are? Come on." She escourted the woman to the room with the cylindrical machine in. She pulled up a chair from the area with the desk and sat her down. "I know this might be a little difficult for you to do, but you need to fill out this form. Take as much time as you need." She picked up the pen and clipboard, taking out the previous page and leaving a clean one. "Basically, draw a picture of your daughter and all her characteristicts, then give me the clipboard and I'll sort the rest."

Yoshiko's mother reached into her purse and took out her wallet. She had photos of her daughter in it and she put it on the clipboard. Then she drew a picture from the photos she had of her daughter. It wasn't the best drawing, but she thought with the different photos she had that Ms Pheonix would be able to get it right.
For description, she wrote everything she was sure her daughter knew; friends, school, father, relatives, colors, food, everything including her. The things she made sure to leave out were the accident and the alcohol. She had killed her daughter because of her drinking. It made her so sad.
She handed it to Ms Pheonix, "Here. Tell her she came in here alone and you don't know her mother, please. Here's her father's cell phone number. She had her school uniform in the car, give this to her." the woman cried.

Patricia smiled symathetically, taking back her clipboard. "I'm guessing you want to forget everything, then. I promise with my whole heart, I'll do the very best I can." She put her hand on her shoulder. "Have.. Have you told the father? He might freak out to see his little girl who has died and now she's back.. Maybe you should give him a call." She examined the drawing. It was decent. Decent enough for her to work with, anyway. Her attention turned to the notes. They were pretty detailed, but she didn't except any less from a grieving mother. "When you're sure you want to do this, step into the machine." She powered up the machinery, lights and power ebbing and filling the room gradually.

Yoshiko's mother shook her head. "No, he doesn't know. He can't ever know that she is dead." she hands Ms Pheonix the girl's school uniform and walked into the machine.
She felt nothing painful or unpleasant. When the machine stopped Yoshiko Miura was standing in the machine and her mother was gone.

Yoshiko looked around for a bit confused, "Where am I?" she asked quietly. She looked at herself, "Why don't I have clothes? Where is my mother?" Yoshiko was confused. She remembered she was suppose to go to a dinner after school with her mother. She remembered getting in the car and getting to the dinner. But after that is nothing. "Hello?" she called out from the machine. She looked around and stared at all the dials and knobs wondering where she could be. "Maybe I'm in a hospital or a lab?" she thought as she tried to guess what all the things in there could be, "Is anyone there? Am I okay? Is my mother okay?" she asked. Yoshiko wasn't scared, she was confused. She didn't feel hurt and didn't know why she had no clothes on. She didn't understand where her mother was and how she got into this machine.

She saw the woman, "Hello? Are you a nurse? Are you a doctor or a scientist?" she asked. "Is my mother here?"

Patricia smiled to the girl emerging from the machine. "Hello, Yoshiko." She nodded to her, handing her the clothes. "Your mother has had to go away for a while. Get changed and come on out, you can call your father from the phone in the reception." She walked out of the room and waited by the reception desk, picking up the clipboard before she left. Examining it, she made sure if Yoshiko seemed to be right.

Yoshiko took her clothes watching the woman as she spoke, "Your mother has had to go away for a while. Get changed and come on out, you can call your father from the phone in the reception."
"Went away for a while?" she asked, her face scrunching. "Why would she do that?" she wondered. "My school uniform?" she said looking at her clothes. "Where are my... never mind." she said deciding to ask her questions when she got dressed. Yoshiko put on her school uniform, checked to make sure the sleeves were right, fixed her jacket and pulled up on her socks so that everything looked correct. She probably wasn't going to see any teachers from school here, but she didn't know for sure where she was so better-safe.
She walked to the reception desk and looked around, "It doesn't look like a doctor's office or a science lab." she muttered. "Does my father know mother has gone away?" she asked the woman standing by the phone. It would be okay if the woman said, "Yes," or "I don't know." The only bad answer would be, "No!" because that would mean mother had left her, abandoned her. She loved her mother and didn't want to be one of those families with only one parent.
Yoshiko looked at the small office again. It did look a bit like a doctor's office. Maybe there had been an accident and they didn't want her to know until her father could tell her. But then, why have her call her father. Yoshiko was really confused.

"Well," Patricia started, not particularly knowing how to answer the question. "She was called away by a family friend. Something very bad happened and she needed to support them. That's all she told me. You'd fallen asleep in the car and she asked me to make sure you called your father before you left so he'd know where you are." Smiling to herself, she shook her head playfully. What a good lier I turned out to be."Oh, you're at The Phoenix Company, by the way!" Jumping up with a start, Patricia grabbed some bandages from behind the reception and wrapped them around Yoshiko's right wrist before she could see what was there. Kneeling down to her size, Patricia balanced herself on the girl's shoulders, looking into her eyes. "Now, Yoshiko, listen to me very carefully. Do not take this bandage off. Ever. Promise me?"

Yoshiko listened to the woman tell her what happened to her mother. She was still very confused. "Why would mother leave like that?" she wondered. She nodded at everything Ms. Pheonix said and accepted it. Then the woman got up and wrapped bandages on her wrist. "Now, Yoshiko, listen to me very carefully. Do not take this bandage off. Ever. Promise me?" Ms. Pheonix told her. It sounded very important, maybe she had been injured. She nodded, "I promise."
Yoshiko called father. He seemed confused and very worried. Yoshiko told father she was okay, she didn't think she was hurt, but she had to wear a special bandage. He told her to wait at the Phoenix Company until he got there. Yoshiko promised to wait.
Two hours later father arrived at the company.
"I'm Shinzo Miura." he said hugging his daughter. "Is Yoshiko okay? What did my wife say? Is she okay? Why does she need the bandage?" he was very upset.
"I'm okay father." Yoshiko told him. "Ms. Phoenix is very nice."

Patricia nodded and held her hand for the man to shake, smiling. "Hello, Mr. Miura, I'm Patricia Pheonix. Your wife had to do something very urgently... Well... Maybe you should take Yoshiko outside. I have something I'd like to discuss with you." It's for the best, Patricia.. The man has to know. She told herself over and over again but couldn't seem to convince herself entierly. Realising her smile had faded slightly, she suddenly shot a smile at Yoshiko. "I'm sorry, Yoshiko, can you please go and wait outside? Mr. Miura - can I call you Shinzo? - You should probably come through." She went through to the room with the sofa and kitchen.

Yukiko followed her friends to class.
"This is great!" Yukari says very excited, "i'll help you learn everything about our school."
Hanako holds her hand, "You'll like our school. Except for math. The teacher is boring." she says making ugly faces.
Two teachers walk by and the girls bow, "That's our science teacher and our morals teacher." Hanako says whispering. "They're both good teachers, bur sometimes they're really mean."
"What did the vice-principal mean about an island girl?" Yukiko asks nervous and worried.
"She means people think you're weird." Hanako says without thinking. She giggles, "Sorry. Some island people are weird. You're kind of backward in the way you live. Not you, Yukiko. You don't seem backward. Just some island people are. You're fine. Everyone will like you. Well, maybe not the boys. But who cares?" Hanako says pulling the gitl into the classroom.
The girls get to class and bow to their teacher, "That's Ms Abe."

The girls greet their teacher and she introduces herself to Yukiko. Yukiko tells her teacher she about her aunt, her parents, a family friend Ms. Pheonix and that she's a doctor and shows her teacher her arm, "Dr. Pheonix says I can't take off the bandage." Her teacher nods, smiles and has her sit between Hanako and Yukari.

"Has anyone seen Yoshiko?" the teacher asks

Yoshiko looks at Ms Pheonix and father. Father looks a little angry and Ms Pheonix looks worried. "Yes, you can call me Shinzu." Father says and nods to Yoshiko and she goes outside to wait. It's dark and a little cold. She isn't sure what happened, but she knows it's really bad. "Maybe mom died or is in the hospital." she thinks. She thinks it has to be bad because her mom just left her in the science place. Or her mom isn't alive and she was brought there by an ambulance to save her. She is so confused and sad.

Father follows Ms. Pheonix into the room. Before she can explain Father begins, "What happened to my wife? Is she okay? Was she drinking again? Is Yoshiko all right? Was it alcohol?" Father's questions come quick as he asks quickly. It wouldn't be the first time alcohol was involved. When Yoshiko was ten she drove into a tree while drunk. Yoshiko was hurt but didn't remember the accident. She promised she wouldn't drink and she hadn't. But, tonight she did and Yoshiko died and she is gone, so Yoshiko can be alive.

Patricia swallowed hard. "This is going to sound crazy, Shinzu. Yoshiko was killed in an accident some time ago now. Mrs Miura was hysterical." She started, but unsure how to finish. "Your wife.. um.. your wife has given her life for your daughters. I'm sorry." She was open to many questions, figuring there had to be alot. "This is what The Phoenix Company does. We change people's lives, quite literally."

Yoshiko's father stood wondering what she was talking about. He was sure it wasn't true. People couldn't change into someone else. But, Ms. Pheonix face did not look like she was joking. The whole night was shocking and he was too upset to argue with her or doubt her.
"I see." he said not sure what else to say, "Do you have proof? Like a picture or video?" he wondered. "Do I owe you money?"

Yoshiko watched all the cars on the street and the people walking by. It was dark and the street lights and the car lights made her feel a little dizzy. She was tired, sad, confused and wanted to go home, wanted her mother. She wanted the day to be over.

"I have the clipboard she gave me of Yoshiko." She gestured to the clipboard, still firmly gripped in her hand. Patricia handed it to Yoshiko's father. "It's everything about her, and a drawing. Unfortunatly, if there's anything Mrs. Miura missed, it won't be there because I put everything on that clipboard into the machine and that was it." She looked the man up and down, then sighed. "I've very sorry, Shinzu, but... the real Yoshiko is dead. The Yoshiko outside is your wife with her DNA and appearance modified to the maximum. She doesn't remember anything of how Yoshiko died, having her memory modified to forget as requested."

Father stood gripping the clipboard. The picture was Yoshiko and the information was all about her. If it was a joke it was a really bad one. He wasn't sure he believed her. The girl he saw looked and sounded like Yoshiko. It seemed impossible. He thought about it and decided to himself that the girl outside waiting was probably Yoshiko and that the woman was working with his wife to hide.
He thanked her and went outside to talk to Yoshiko. He crouched down and hugged her. He took her hand, looked at the bandage and came back in without Yoshiko, "Yoshiko says she can't take off the bandage. Is that true? If I leave it on will it get dirty and make her sick?"

Patricia smiled. "No, sir, it's just a precaution. See, I have one too!" She showed her wrist, the bandage starting to slowly lose it's natural white colour. "Hey, Yoshiko, want a..." She slowly kneeled down behind her desk, until she couldn't be seen. "Lolipop?" She jumped back up with a lolipop in her hand. She handed it over to Yoshiko, still grinning with her whole heart. Maybe it'll occupy the poor girl's attention.

((ooc: I like the body switch. But she's at school in morning and I' still night. So I'm going to write for day and then switch)

Yoshiko took the lolipop but didn't eat it. She was too sad. She drove home with Father he said nothing, but he looked at her odd sometimes.
She went to bed and the next day got up. She showered, got dressed for school and was surprised Mother wasn't home. Father was up, but he looked like he hadn't slept all night. When she tried to talk to him all he said was to get her books and he'd drive her to school. Yoshiko grabbed the lolipop from her dresser when she got her books. She ate the lolipop in the car because she was very nervous.
She was late for school and she ran upstairs to class. "Teacher will be so angry." she knew. She ran in the door

"Has anyone seen Yoshiko?" her teacher asks.

"Right here." the girl sitting in Yukiko's desk answered. "Sorry, I'm..." Yoshiko/Yukiko stopped, her eyes big, her face turned red, then pale. "I'm... I'm..." Yoshiko was confused. She looked around at everyone in the classroom. They were all staring at the confused, embarrassed girl. "I'm... I'm sorry. I didn't..."

Her teacher gave her an angry stare as the girls in her class laughed, "Do you think you're funny?" the woman snapped.
"No, Teacher." she said sliding down in her desk.
"You island girls. Maybe you need your hearing checked." Yoshiko nodded. Her teacher made her kneel in the corner by the window with her hands in the air for the rest of homeroom. She stared at the girl who was her the whole time

"Right here." a girl calls out from her seat. Yukiko looks over at the girl sitting in her seat. It's her body, but it's not her. "She isn't sure what to say or do. Yukiko, or is it Yoshiko? She's not sure. She stands nervous trying to think about what to say or do. The girl who is her, or llooks like her is sent to the window to kneel with her hands in the air for being stupid. Yukiko wants to sneak away hoping teacher didn't see her.
"Why are you late, Yoshiko?" her teacher asks.
"Uhhhh...I uh..." she didn't know why she was late. "I uhhhhh..." Yukiko stammered.
"To the window with the new girl." Teacher ordered.
Yukiko sighed, walked over to the window, set her bag down and kneel hands in the air for homeroom. She wanted to say something to the girl that was her, but didn't know what to say.
