"I see." he said not sure what else to say, "Do you have proof? Like a picture or video?" he wondered. "Do I owe you money?"
Yoshiko watched all the cars on the street and the people walking by. It was dark and the street lights and the car lights made her feel a little dizzy. She was tired, sad, confused and wanted to go home, wanted her mother. She wanted the day to be over.
He thanked her and went outside to talk to Yoshiko. He crouched down and hugged her. He took her hand, looked at the bandage and came back in without Yoshiko, "Yoshiko says she can't take off the bandage. Is that true? If I leave it on will it get dirty and make her sick?"
Yoshiko took the lolipop but didn't eat it. She was too sad. She drove home with Father he said nothing, but he looked at her odd sometimes.
She went to bed and the next day got up. She showered, got dressed for school and was surprised Mother wasn't home. Father was up, but he looked like he hadn't slept all night. When she tried to talk to him all he said was to get her books and he'd drive her to school. Yoshiko grabbed the lolipop from her dresser when she got her books. She ate the lolipop in the car because she was very nervous.
She was late for school and she ran upstairs to class. "Teacher will be so angry." she knew. She ran in the door
"Has anyone seen Yoshiko?" her teacher asks.
"Right here." the girl sitting in Yukiko's desk answered. "Sorry, I'm..." Yoshiko/Yukiko stopped, her eyes big, her face turned red, then pale. "I'm... I'm..." Yoshiko was confused. She looked around at everyone in the classroom. They were all staring at the confused, embarrassed girl. "I'm... I'm sorry. I didn't..."
Her teacher gave her an angry stare as the girls in her class laughed, "Do you think you're funny?" the woman snapped.
"No, Teacher." she said sliding down in her desk.
"You island girls. Maybe you need your hearing checked." Yoshiko nodded. Her teacher made her kneel in the corner by the window with her hands in the air for the rest of homeroom. She stared at the girl who was her the whole time
((OOC: this is very funny Boo. I like it.))
"Why are you late, Yoshiko?" her teacher asks.
"Uhhhh...I uh..." she didn't know why she was late. "I uhhhhh..." Yukiko stammered.
"To the window with the new girl." Teacher ordered.
Yukiko sighed, walked over to the window, set her bag down and kneel hands in the air for homeroom. She wanted to say something to the girl that was her, but didn't know what to say.
Yoshiko/Yukiko tried to think of something to say to the girl who was her that was next to her. "What can I say?" she wondered. "She must be as confused as me. If I say something and people hear me they'll think I'm crazy." Yoshiko/Yukiko decided to stay quiet and not make her teacher angry.
Her teacher gives both of them angry looks. Yukiko, now Yoshiko, gets up and walks to the front of the class and bows, apologizes and the teacher leaves them alone in the room.
Yukiko stands next to the other girl who looks like her. "Ummmm. Can we talk in the hall? Please?"
"How did you get me?" she whispered to the other girl. "Who are you? Why are you doing this?" she stopped and thought about it. "I'm sorry. I know it isn't you. I'm just very upset."
She looked down at her wrist, "Oh God, you have one too?" She said a little louder. She looked around to see who was listening, but no one was looking. "You have the bandage too." she whispered to the girl. "We HAVE to talk."
The bell rang for class to start, "Let's just go in and try not to be weird or stupid." She tried to think of how the day could get worse, but couldn't. Something told her it would get worse, a lot worse.
"I see we have a new student in class today. I heard she's from one of the islands. Why don't you stand and tell us about you."
Forgetting that she's Yoshiko, Yukiko stands, "Yukiko is name..." Yukiko stops confused.
The teacher looks angry at Yukiko, "Yoshiko is this one of your jokes."
"Teacher no. Sorry I'm." Yukiko covers her mouth a shocked look on her face.
"Not funny, Yoshiko. Do you want to go to the window."
"Window the to go to want don't I Teacher I."
"That's it! Window! You're not funny."
Yukiko walks toward the window. She says nothing. She kneels and holds her arms in the air trying to figure out what is heppening to her and why.
"Now, Yukiko. Please rise and tell the class about you."
Yoshiko didn't know anything about the girl. She only knew her name and that she was from an island, that was it. She stood and turned a deep red trying to think of something, "Uhhh... I'm Yukiko and my family is here from an island in the north east... I can't uhhhh... I can't think of anything special to say."
"Yukiko Ishishima, I was told your parents died in an accident. How could your family be here from the north?"
Yoshiko turned a deeper red, "Oh... yeah... I meant my family I live with here, now, are from an island. I'm sorry. I... they... ummmm... they're my family and uhhhh... they came from the same place."
She knew she looked stupid to everyone, but she didn't know what to say ot do. Finally, thge teacher sighed, rolled his eyes and told her to sit down. She sat took a couple of breaths and tried not to cry
"Can you stop acting stupid Yoshiko and return to your seat?" the math teacher asks.
For a second she doesn't say anything and then remembers she is Yoshiko, "Yes." she calls out quickly before he changes his mind.
"Then sit!" the teacher orders.
Yukiko gets up rubbing her arms and sits. "Day the of rest the for talking no just. Trouble into get can't I. It take can't arms my." she says softly rubbing her arms to make them stop hurting.
((ooc: This is fun. I'll be a better poster. I've been busy Boo, sorry.))
Yoshiko finishes her work and silently draws. She's afraid to do anything that might make her teacher angry. She does all her work and when they wheel in the cart for lunch she is excited. She is very hungry.
When Yoshiko the girl in her (Yukiko) body came out, Yukiko grabbed her arm quickly and pulled her, "Been you have where?" she asked angry. "This fix to have we." She was so upset she didn't think about how hard it would be for the other girl to understand her. "House my to go to have we. House aunt's my." She pulled Yoshiko to the bus stop, looking for the address she had. She realized she didn't have it because it was in her pocket and the other girl was her. She pulled the paper out of the other girl's jacket pocket, "Go let's. Bus which?" she asked looking at the other girl hoping she knew how to get to the address
Name? That's easy. She'd always loved the name Leonard, like the little boy who lived down the street she desired to emulate. Age? She doesn't want to be too young, to the point where she loses some of her independence, but she still wants to be able to enjoy her boyhood as well. She decides twelve is as good an age as any to start. The other things were more difficult. She still wanted to be herself, so she didn't input anything besides "typical boy" in the personality department. But the looks...
She could look however she wanted. Blonde hair? She's always wanted to have golden, shimmering locks. But something drew her to write "light brown" in the box instead. Blue eyes. That was a given. She'd always loved the way blue eyes could mimic the sea and be a gateway to an ocean of emotion. She draws a picture of what she wants to look like, spending great time on the details. She'd always been an artist, if not professionally then in spirit. With a smile, she hands the clipboard and pen back to the lady across the counter.
"I still want to be myself, just please, make me a boy."
The wires attached to the cylindrical machine glowed with a faint, metallic blue. The walls and floor were a shinning white which reflected the blue lights, giving the whole room a light blue tint. She left the woman in the middle of the room and headed to the desk behind the glass panel. She flicked a switch on a computer keyboard and power began to ebb from what seemed like every single area of the room, even the air.
Patricia hesitated and then looked up at the woman. "Miss, are completely set on seeing this through? There can be severe side effects and... well, changing gender can usually have.. unforeseen complications... Are you 100% certain you want to become Leonard?"
If she knew where Yukiko lived she'd be happy. Yukiko could go to her boring classes and she could go to Yukiko's home and sleep. She likes that idea, a lot. But, she'd be alone. She loves her father. She wants to be her again.
She begins to feel light headed, a little dizzy. When she feels better, she realizes she's Yoshiko again. "I'm me!" she squeals
She almost hasn't noticed the room when they first entered. She was so excited to finally have her dream come true, and it was all so close she could almost taste it. Hannah walks over to the large cylinder in the middle of the room, wanting to touch it but at the same time afraid to mess with anything in the room. She needs this to go right, or as right as possible given that there are always certain complications in any procedure.
"What am I supposed to do?" She asks as she looks back at the woman behind the desk.
"What are you supposed to do?" Patricia laughed, almost mockingly as she joined the woman. "Step inside, and your life will be changed forever."
