Though her main residence is spacious enough to hold her immediate family, considering it was her money that bought the place, Alexandra along with her childhood caretaker, Angela, are the only ones who reside there on a regular basis. Her mother, Roxanne, lives with Alexandra's grandfather, Robert L. Johnson, in their Long Island estate; the latter makes a habit of coming to visit every week. Alexandra has only met her father three times in her life and does not really care to acknowledge his existence.

H O M EXL I F E

Considering Alexandra is the only grandchild of Robert L. Johnson, an African American entrepreneur, media magnate, executive, philanthropist and investor - who also co-founded BET and founded RLJ Companies - not much in Alexandra's life wasn't golden when she was born. Though, the fact that her father is not a figure in her life is an issue she chooses to ignore. Alexandra is the result of a tumultuous affair between an Arabic independent film director and Alex's mother, a trust fund baby who followed in her mother's footsteps as a model while also relying on her father to continue to care for her. As far as Alex knows, there's no real love lost between Roxie and Amir, especially with the way he acted when she had announced her pregnancy. To this day, Alex doesn't exactly know all of the nitty gritty because her granddad refused to allow her to know, but she does understand that no man needs to be in her life if he has to get paid to do so. And it was definitely telling at a young age that her mother would rather go out and act like she wasn't a parent while simultaneously shoving Alexandra on nannies, but Alex really didn't have much room to mourn. She did mourn and no matter what she says, it gets lonely in a big penthouse, but it was even lonelier on the days her grandfather wasn't home and she had to deal with a mother who acted like she was a burden.

The one familial figure, besides cousins and such, that she was closest to was her grandfather. Robert cultivated Alexandra's love for life, traveling, adventures, video games, and especially, fashion. It was him who took her to Fashion Week and every catwalk he knew about after seeing the way Alex's eyes lit up the very first time she had even seen her mother walk. Who would have thought the exposure would have warranted a drive to re-create some of the same looks she could spend hours raving about? When Alex was only eight years old, she showed her granddad her first few sketches, a few of which she is embarrassed about now considering how somewhat immature they were, but he had seen some kind of talent in her. Before Alexandra knew it, she had a team, investors, and then a franchise. The one thing she can say she got from her father was his last name because the second she attached such a mature name to the somewhat dark yet casual and chic clothing she made, she became a success. Alexandra is nowhere near a billionaire, but she's definitely a millionaire in her own right and a part of her success can be attributed to her mother, who stepped up surprisingly when Alexandra proved to actually be something. While Alex hates that her mom acts more like a business partner than a mother, even she cannot deny that she wouldn't be where she is if her mom hadn't brought partnerships with Guess, Top Shop, and even a few modeling gigs of Alex's own. However, Alexandra did promise her grandfather a high school diploma and a college degree, and she loves her Constance life a bit too much to have dropped out like her mother.

A C A D E M I CXC A R E E R

Considering the fact that she is the CEO of House of Boutros, a fashion line she started when she was only ten years old, Alex hasn't exactly been motivated to get the highest of high grade point averages, but considering the majority of her grades are B+ with a sprinkle of As here and there, it's safe to say that she's doing pretty well for a high school student slash businesswoman. She also serves, to satisfy her grandfather who feared she was growing up too fast, as the Public Relations Director in the Student Government Association.

Alexandra has never been a fan of being in the middle. No, times like those are reserved for when she's playing video games with her guy friends or just chilling with fans on Instagram or YouTube. In fact, you can say that Alex is a woman of absolutes, no middles or in-betweens. She's either one-thousand percent happy, or all kinds of pissed. Either zero percent not-into-any-of-this-shit or she's all over it. Yeah, it can be over the top at times and sure, some of her friends probably have to attend weekly yoga sessions after being on her fast track schedule, but the one thing Alex is not is simple. She can be the chick wearing sweats at homes playing video games or watching movies with her best of best friends one day, and probably wake up in some cute guy's bed the next. Or at least, that's what the rumors would say. You might find it surprising that she can be both vain and insecure, but when you've been thrust into cameras and attended as many functions as Alexandra has, you probably would be just a little obsessed with your image. At the same time, you might even find flaws in yourself that make you want to hide in some dark corner. But there wouldn't be a corner large enough to contain all of this little chocolate diva, as her granddaddy likes to call her.

After having it drilled into her head since she was a kid, perfection has been the ultimate goal in Alexandra's life and she strives for that excellence every day. Besides, when has it been in Alexandra's genetic code to not pursue something she wants? She wants something, she takes it. She's got a goal, she goes for it. Reluctance and insecurities are the last things on her mind when both her mind and heart are set on something. For instance, how else do you think she's managed a solid 3.5 GPA while managing a fashion career without any sign of her taking a break? It wasn't because she hired anyone. You see, Alexandra has never been about that whole 'pay someone to do it for you.' Her mom might have tried that and she's seen a few of her 'friends' get less popular, but smarter girls to write their papers or do their homework. Alex can't do that. It all has to be on her own. Like, how she's the only creative mind behind her designs and what is sold in her New York-based store despite having a team to fall back on, she will do everything on her own. It's just who she is. It's not like she's bad at group projects, she just has a particular image in mind and things need to go her way. And if they don't, well, she'll either break down into some kind of mental malfunction or curse your name to the bottomless pits of Hell.

Not that bad, right?

To be completely honest, off-setting this over-the-top personality is a very lively and easy-going character. A surprisingly liked popular girl {partly because of her career, partly because she's actually not a bad person}, Alexandra doesn't discriminate in her daily greetings. Whether you're a part of her crew or not, she is almost always friendly and tries to be as welcoming as possible. She gets it, she really does. When you're with this group of socialites, you know who not to talk to. However, you also know who to make allies out of and who to make enemies out of. And yes, she's aware of the rumors. She's slept with a lot of guys at school. Actually, she's only slept with two guys at school and only one of them is one that everyone should know about. The third was not a student, but an up-and-coming rapper from California and it was a summer fling. Alexandra can just be a little...scandalous with words, all a part of the dramatics, though her more seductive or flirtatious of antics are not so much an act as they are simply facets of her person, especially when Alex wants something from you. The only problem with that is just because Alexandra can seem like a chilled person or possibly a sweetheart depending on who you are, it doesn't exactly mean that she's defenseless or innocently flawless as she'd like to tell you with her Dior shades on either. Remember that side of her that goes for what she wants? Well, that side can be pretty vengeful too if you push the right (or wrong, depending on how you look at it) buttons. It might not happen today or tomorrow, unless you've pissed her off and in that case, she might just punch you, but trust that her revenge will come. Though, it is also safe to say that there's a bit of a dark side lurking, one that makes some of her vindictive machinations just a touch creative but definitely deadly, at least socially.

"Don't worry, I'm a man of my word," he reassured her with a grin, as he waited for the bartender to place their shots on the counter top. He took his soon after, swishing the contents around in the small glass gently for a quick second as he tried to refresh his mind on what was even in a Kamikaze shot. Vodka... lime juice, was it? And maybe triple sec as well. He wasn't completely positive that that was the recipe, but he wasn't that concerned regardless. Even if he was, he didn't want to sound like an idiot by asking right now, so instead he just raised the shot glass in the air. "Cheers to..." he was on the brink of toasting to Alex's birthday when the energy in Katherine seemed to drain in a quick second. She went from bubbly and overly chatty, to sporting an expression that made it seem like she just found out that her grandmother died, or something. She excused herself, and Clifford looked to Alex with a look of curiosity, as if maybe he was missing something. His phone was in his pocket, but he wasn't subscribed to the Gossip Girl blog to a point where he got notifications about it. He always ended up reading the posts at some point, but he was usually late in the game in doing so, compared to everyone else.

"I hope she didn't have a change of heart, and suddenly wants you all to herself tonight," he remarked, trying to keep the mood light-hearted even without their crazy friend there to play that role. "Even if she does, though, I still feel accomplished that I get to have a shot with the birthday girl so early on in the night. Actually, honored is probably a better word," he said, and though it probably sounded cheesy, he genuinely was surprised that he had somehow managed to end up alone with Alex, and even holding on to her attention for this long. After the shot, he expected her to head off to socialize with her other friends, and he was completely content with that, knowing he could always find her later in the night, because this alone seemed like a major step in the right direction for him. "So... here's to a great night, and a new year of life filled with amazing opportunities," he offered, raising his shot glass in the air.

Ricky may have chuckled at Sydney's retort about being at the top, but his grin was meant solely for Vincent who adamantly refused to meet his gaze. The act only made his grin widen, but he opted to not say anything at all. Vincent's silence spoke volumes and that, in and of itself, would serve to be Rick's amusement for the remainder of the night. A better friend would ask if Vincent was alright. They'd genuinely care about the put out expression he wore like another costume, would be ready to help him out. But Ricky...well, as he always told himself, he wasn't a good person. He was capable of good things, that much was certain - but it usually had to include some benefit for himself. However, despite the goodness that lay inherently in the character he was portraying, Ricky knew that there was no costume in the world that could veil how myriad his sins were. And, to be quite honest, he enjoyed this thrill of knowing that he was getting under someone's skin - even if that someone happened to be one of his close friends. It only meant that a show would take place soon enough and that had him smirking at the back of Vincent's head, even as the other athlete led Sydney away into the crowd.

Remembering his present company, Ricky turned back to Charlotte and watched the emotions play on her face, interest piqued when her expression turned solemn despite the initial spark of pleasure that had lit up her eyes. "Come now, Lottie. You mean to tell me that secret lover you have to be texting managed to - " He paused when she handed him her phone, following her gaze to where Alex was, leaning against the bar and wearing a bright smile, fangs almost gleaming beneath the light that the bar provided. Eyes back on Charlotte, he raised an eyebrow, but silently acquiesed to the silent demand to read it as she fretted over the situation. The post was enough to make him want to laugh aloud, though his face remained stoic. This was the show he wanted! Now the fun can begin, he thought with glee, eyes lingering on the blurry depiction of what he could recognize - only because of the hair - as Sydney. Ignoring the subtle clench in his stomach, the first sign of jealou -

"But Lottie, you know taking a drink and relaxing are the first things I have to say," he began, sliding his arm back over Charlotte's shoulders comfortably and cutting that last thought off in its tracks. "See, look at her," he commanded, gesturing back to where Cliff and Alex were at the bar. "She looks happy. Isn't the one thing we both want for her is to be happy? And she is. With someone else...a potential future. Can Vincent make her happy? Probably, maybe. Definitely. But he's hurt her and this?" He gave Charlotte the phone back. "That's gonna hurt her. See, Alex likes lingering on the past. She likes being adventurous, but at the end of the day, she likes to be grounded by it. Her entire being is fortified by it. Which means she doesn't always know when to let go. But she's possibly doing that right this second." He steered Charlotte away from their current position, inching towards the dance floor as he spoke. "So, why show her something right now that's gonna pull her back into the same mindset as before? Make her waste her time discarding something potentially better because she's lingering on something that proved to herself itself that it wasn't good for her. If Vincent wants to dispel the allegations later and prove himself, then so be it." Ricky chose then to release the blonde's shoulders, but definitely grabbed her hands to get her to move to upbeat tempo of the music, keeping her close so that she could still hear him. "But for now, let her have this. Later, she'll get mad, sure. Hurt, maybe for a little bit. But then she'll remember later on...she'll remember what this felt like. And come on, you really think she'll want to go back to that foolishness after having a time like this. Just dance, Lottie. Let her have her night."

"You better be," Alexandra warned with a pointed finger at Cliff, biting her lower lip on a grin as she also turned to wait for the bartender to make the drink. As they waited for that brief moment of companionable silence, Alex didn't look at Katherine, but down the bar towards a few of the party-goers. A few of whom had glanced at her, smiled briefly, and then turned their gazes away to whisper among themselves or get back to the party. It made her press her lips together silently, but with a casual flip of her hair over her shoulder, Alex dispelled the weird feeling that made something in her stomach sink. She didn't know anything about the current Gossip Girl post, but she did know that it was possible for a post to emerge in lieu of her spending time with Cliff. It was a mild paranoia that most people had learned to develop upon Gossip Girl's initial creation; no one went anywhere without feeling Gossip Girl could be the person right next to them. No one did anything without wondering if the next post was going to be about exact that. And while Alex had nothing to feel guilty about, at least in the foreground of her head, there was still that voice that whispered that this was a bad idea. Not because Cliff wasn't good for her, but she wasn't for him. Not when she couldn't say with absolute conviction that she was over one of his best friends. And after Gossip Girl had already made a post alluding to the possibility of her and Vincent having something to do with each other during their class trip, despite how much they both insisted on a very platonic friendship, she already suspected that a post of some kind was going to insinuate a love triangle where there didn't need to be one.

So caught up in her thoughts, Alex was only brought back into the fold when Cliff had been about to make a cheers and then cut himself off because Katherine gave a fleeting parting before zipping off. Eyebrows raised, Alex grabbed her shot, but not without trying to follow Katherine's path with her gaze before the brunette was just plain lost in the semi-light home. Shrugging it off, she turned back to Cliff, lips forming a warm smile at his flattery, cheeks once again feeling hot. She ducked her head for a moment in embarrassment, not at all prepared for the onset of flattery that was coming from Cliff tonight. He wasn't always...well, like this. To an extent, Alex had always assumed that it was a bit of a disinterest on his part when it came to anything more between them, and so it was easy to just be friends. Then again, she had also not been exactly direct herself. "Cheers," she replied, giggling quietly when she raised her drink a little to tap his. Then she tossed the drink back, grimacing as the liquid slid down her throat. Laughing a little when she noticed his own expression, Alex set the drink down on the bar firmly and then fixed Cliff with a determined yet coy gaze. It was probably the extra liquid courage that was making her feel emboldened, but it was also the lingering belief that even if there was something for her to feel guilty about where Vincent was concerned, he had yet to come to her. This was Alex's night, after all. She didn't owe anyone but herself anything. And, considering she had a cute guy in front of her who made her smile hard enough to make her cheeks hurt, she was allowed to want to have some fun. "Well, since Kit Kat obviously has abandoned me for the night, your honored feeling now as you trapped in my company for a little while longer," Alex told him, grazing the fingers of his free hand with her fingertips. Eventually though, she had a light grasp of his hand with both of her own, tugging him lightly. "Which means that Her Majesty requires a dance." Dropping her voice a touch, she added, coquettish, "And I won't take no for an answer, mister."

Kat breathed a sigh of relief when Sydney found her, but only because it meant that she didn’t have to search through the entire party to find her. Plus, seeing her now made Kat feel at least a little bit better knowing that she still wasn’t with Vincent, and she didn’t have a post-quickie disheveled look to her. Then again, Sydney wasn’t the type who ever really looked like a mess, so it wasn’t like that automatically meant that nothing had happened. She was aware that Sydney was good at wearing masks. She could pretend that things were okay, and that nothing had happened, even when that wasn’t true. "No to the first thing, but I'm going to need something stronger than this alcohol after reading what I just read,” she said, and though her voice remained skeptical, she at first wore a pleading look on her face as she tried to read Sydney before continuing, sounding a bit more certain and demanding now. β€œAnd yes to the second one. I'm getting Vincent kicked out, whether you support it or not. If she doesn't kick him out, I'm leaving and I'm never talking to her again, and I swear this time I seriously am going to go through with it."

"Kat..." she said, flashing the brunette a warning look. She opted against responding directly to Katherine's reference to having just read the post that Sydney had also just read. She didn't want to go there. She didn't think that she needed to explain herself to Katherine, who was supposed to be her best friend. If Katherine was complaining about the mutual stress that they were all going to feel from that post, then that was one thing, and that was what Sydney chose to believe she was commenting on, as she continued to say, "This is Alex's party. Don't make it about you." Even if Sydney could recognize that any drama that affected her and Alex affected Katherine too, Sydney was still quite confident that she was the one who was going to deal with more stress than anyone else -Alex included- following this.

"That sounds funny coming out of your mouth given that picture I saw." She had to take a large sip of her drink before speaking, but the words came out nonetheless, and with an ounce of attitude in her tone that wasn’t common when she was talking to Sydney.

"Really, Katherine? He asked me a question, and I--" She was about to explain the situation in full, and tell Katherine that she should be grateful for the response that Sydney gave to Vincent's question, when she suggested that he let Alex go if that allowed her to be happy, when she realized what she was doing. She was Sydney Persson, and she did not have to explain herself to anyone. Not even her closest friends. Not when it was regarding a rumor that she believed anyone who truly knew her should know, right away, was absolutely, positively, one hundred percent fictitious. "I don't need to justify myself to you, or anyone, for that matter. We're not doing this here."

"You make it sound like it's the most bizarre thing in the world,” Katherine scoffed, and it was definitely worth noting that her reaction now was not typical to Katherine. She was not as passive and mindless as people often liked to paint her to be, depicting her to be one of Sydney’s dependent followers who lived and breathed for the Queen Bee. Katherine was a devoted friend, that was for sure, and she did respect Sydney, and know that it was usually easier to go with what Sydney wanted simply to avoid conflict, but it was also important to remember that Katherine was raised in a home environment where she was used to almost everything going her way. Because of that, she was often conflicted with picking her battles, and even when she did play the submissive part with Sydney to her face, she was throwing a temper tantrum behind the scenes about not getting her way initially. Every now and then, though, Katherine did more than just complain to Alex about those injustices. She could stand up to Sydney when something bothered her enough, and maybe the alcohol in her system had something to do with it, but tonight she was feeling a bit more brazen than usual. β€œYou did it once, and now you're running off with him again, right when all of the attention is supposed to be for her, and when she actually looks like she might be able to move on finally?” It definitely wasn’t like this was the first time that Katherine had ever witnessed Alex hit it off with a guy since the whole Vincent fiasco, so Kat only added in that reference for a bit of an unnecessary and dramatic emphasis to prove her point. β€œI'm not doing this again with you two, Syd! I can't deal with you guys wanting to kill each other again.” She had taken her hand that wasn’t holding her drink and grabbed Sydney’s wrist as she spoke in a combination of a hiss and a plea.

As Sydney already said, she wasn't going to have this conversation here. If she had it her way, she wasn't going to have this conversation at all, because it was insulting that her friend would even consider that there might be some truth behind the post's insinuation, but more than anything, she was just certain that she wasn't having this conversation here. For one thing, her mood was already shot, and Katherine was pushing her to a point where she was likely to snap. Making a scene in public wasn't Sydney's kind of deal. Secondly, and this was something that she was less likely to acknowledge aloud, she didn't need this little rat of a social climber, Gossip Girl, to have one more thing to write about with her name included. Simply because of who she was, it was hard for Sydney to stay under the radar, but tonight, she wanted to do that more than anything else. For Alex... who she now had to consider might have been as idiotic as Katherine was when she saw the post... and though Sydney wanted to maintain her good-friend mindset, the other version of herself stepped in to tell her that if Alex wanted to be like Kat and believe a silly rumor, then that wasn't her problem. It was only a reflection of how bad of a friend she was to Sydney. β€œThis conversation is over and I want you to stop drinking before you become even more senseless.” She showed little emotion in her voice, though the unwavering way she met Katherine’s gaze was probably enough to signal that she was serious about that, as she swiped the drink from Katherine’s hand and turned away from her, not allowing her a chance to continue the conversation even if she wanted to. Once she was deep enough in the crowd, she took a sip of the drink and decided that even though Red Bull vodka wasn’t her go-to drink, she was going to need to finish that by the time she got to the bar to order her own drink. It was just going to be one of those nights.

Though she had been outspoken at first, Katherine said nothing as Sydney shut down the conversation, stole her drink, and walked off. Her β€œmy way or no way” mode had been activated, and now the only thing she knew to do was to sulk at not getting her way. Her initial reaction had her briskly weaving through groups of gleeful party patrons, in route to the stairs. Katherine knew that the guests weren’t supposed to enter the private quarters of Alexandra’s home, but Katherine wouldn’t even consider that such a rule applied to her. In fact, the minute that she saw a member of Alexandra’s house staff, she demanded that they unlock the birthday girl’s bedroom, so that at the very least, she could sulk in comfort and privacy, in a space that she was familiar with. On her way up, she sent out two texts.

To: Thylane
let's go home i don't wanna be here anymore

i'm going home ily have a fun night with all of your fake friends who don't have your back like me

A few minutes after Sydney left him, Vincent returned to the party, but only after spending a few minutes in the bathroom, basically talking to himself in the mirror in an attempt at convincing himself that Sydney was right. He had no right to want to beat up one of his closest friends over talking to a girl that he once dated, especially when he knew that if anyone could treat Alex right, it would Clifford. No amount of pep talking could really allow him to relax as much as the shot of tequila and Rum and Cokes that he got at the bar could. Before he had a drink, he did find himself texting Alex, and luckily he was sober at that point, because a drunk Vincent would have texted her in a far more embarrassingly emotional manner. While his phone was out, he felt the need to text Sydney too, but after that, he turned it to silent mode and told himself that he wouldn't look at it again.

To: Alex
Alex... I know I should find you right now and just say this to your face but I feel like a face to face conversation is going to end up ruining your night. So if you want to talk, let me know and I'll find you. Otherwise, just know that that post is absolute bullshit. I asked Sydney to talk to me in private bc I knew Rick would give me shit for what I wanted to ask her. But all we did was talk. I would never do anything with her again. She would never do anything with me again. The conversation literally ended with us agreeing that we wanted nothing more than for you to be happy. So please just don't believe this stupid shit. I want you to have a good night and I'll make sure you don't see my face for the rest of it if that's what it takes.

To: Sydney
I should have known something like that would happen. Sorry.

Vincent wasn't a light weight, so even with hard liquor in his system, it was going to take more than an hour's worth of drinking to actually bring out his hammered side, but given that his emotions were running high tonight, the way that he was drinking was probably going to prove to be a volatile choice. He didn't care though, because right now, all that he could think about was how he couldn't do anything right. He let his sex drive make choices for him, and he was wrong for cheating on the girl he actually loved, and then he didn't have sex or do anything even remotely like that, and was actually just innocently seeking out advice on how to be a better guy, and he was still wrong. There was no winning, so tonight, he told himself that he needed to just say "fuck it" to everyone and everything. With a fresh Jack & Coke in his hand, he found some of his lacrosse friends and told himself that that would be his motto for the night.

"So, what's the plan?" Ricardo asked, cavalier as he leaned against the island of the kitchen and knocked back some of the scotch straight from the bottle. Alex eyed the expensive bottle for a moment before her gaze settled back on the device in her hands. After forcing - though she was pretty much sure it wasn't forcing at all considering Cliff came with her quite willingly - Cliff to dance with her for about three songs, Alex had deemed it necessary to part ways with the cutie in favor of getting back to her phone. As much as she understood her grandfather's ranting about this generation and their reliance on electronics, she wasn't one to be too far from her own phone. It was her lifeline and not just in her social life. Her assistants and partners called her on this thing. Which was how she had come across the notification of the Gossip Girl's post, Kat's plea for Sydney to not do what she think the blonde had done, and eventually, Vincent's own apology in the form of a text message.

To be quite honest, despite the initial sensation of her heart sinking in her chest at the blurry depiction of what obviously must have been recognizable as Sydney and Vincent, if Kat's immediate response from earlier said anything - she wasn't as emotional as everyone must have thought she would have been. Yes, there was still the slightest echo of her hurt in her being, though for a much more childish reason. She could blame the fact that one of her drama babies had brought two rounds of shots while she and Cliff had been dancing, but Alex felt petulantly put out by the fact that something had been more important for Vincent to pull Sydney aside as opposed to Alex. Wasn't tonight supposed to be about her? She was still sober enough to rationalize - though make no mistake, the little girl in her who was used to having Vincent's undivided attention was pouting with her arms folded over her chest - that the conversation had to be something important if even he had to explain that it was. Gossip Girl wasn't always reliable, as they all had said. And lastly, she was ignoring that jealous voice in the back of her head because she wanted to trust Sydney. They had both made efforts to rebuild their relationship and after the conversations they had in the last few days, Alex was willing to give the blonde the benefit of the doubt. She couldn't deny, though, that that happy buzz in her veins that aided in this decision was definitely due to the alcohol. So, she sent her own texts before raising her eyes to see Rick still watching her, gaze assessing.

To: Syd, Kat
Come on Kat. We all kno Gossip Bitch ain't shit. This is just like when she posted about me & Ace chilling out at the ice rank way back when y'all went on those dates, remember?

To: Kat
Come baaaaaaaaaacckkk

To: Vince
...but wat if i wanted 2 c u?

"Well, I don't know about your Royal Asshole-ness, but I for one," she tucked her phone into the skirt portion of her outfit; it was tight enough to hold the device in place and Alex figured that she'd know something was up if she didn't feel the cool device against her warm skin. She also snatched the bottle of scotch from Ricardo, eyeing him for a moment skeptically, and then drank some of the liquor. "am gonna enjoy this bomb ass party that I'm throwing cuz seriously, how the fuck can that bitch think about spreading bullshit when my party is raging like this? Like, fuck her!" Ricky's gaze was still assessing as he very politely eased the bottle from Alexandra's grip, his watching making her feel a bit self-conscious. Luckily, with a couple making out very enthusiastically on the counter on the opposite side of the kitchen, Alex couldn't feel too exposed. They obviously weren't paying much attention. "You and I both know for a fact that that wasn't what I meant," he pointed out, taking another swig from the bottle.

"I know exactly what you meant, seΓ±or HelΓΊ," she stated firmly, gaze unwavering as she took the bottle back. Just as she brought it to her lips, she added, "I'm electing to ignore you and it," and then took a few more swigs. Finally done with the liquor, Alex pushed herself off of the island and then took those few steps towards Rick, pressing the bottle into his abdomen until he slid it from her fingers. Their eyes never left each other's. After a beat, Alex grinned toothily. "And you should too...unless, of course, you're a little afraid." That was when Ricardo's eyes narrowed and Alex felt satisfaction curl up beneath her skin. It felt like she was vibrating with energy now. "And what would I have to be afraid of, Miss Boutros?" He inquired, a testy undertone to his very low voice. Alex put on a thinking face, fingers idling playing with the imprint of the bat on Ricky's chest. It was annoying and his annoyance with her must've shown on his face - a sign that she definitely caught him off guard with this change in attitude for once - because she giggled. "Because, maybe...you're not worried about him. Not for me anyway." Alex was on her toes now, their faces close so that no one can hear her low, sultry but very much knowing whisper "Maybe you're a little worried that lumberjacks might very well be her type, after all." The tense tick in his jaw, though it went away, was the only dead giveaway to Alex hitting the nail on the head.

Ricardo chuckled, not at all perturbed about her searching eyes and how close their bodies were. "Very cute, Miss Boutros," he murmured, though still not liking the pressure inside of his chest or the way her eyes were lit up. Alex full-out laughed then, tapping Rick's chest twice before backing away. "Oh, I know," she declared cheekily, turning her back to him as she headed towards the entrance that would go back to where everyone else was. Before she left, though, she glanced back over her shoulder at Ricardo, parting ways with him with, "Don't forget to save me a dance now, Ricky baby," on her lips. Rick could've hurled the half-empty bottle at her.

"Hmm... I think so," Thylane answered, a smile playing on her face, but only before adding, "But you probably know better than I do. Can't say I've had any experience there." She didn't have any experience sleeping with anyone, and if she was being completely open, she would have to admit that this was the first real kiss she had ever had, too. As a child, she had to kiss little boys very innocently in some of her photo shoots, but of course, they were only small pecks. In grade school, she kissed a boy on the playground during lunch hour, and before moving to New York, one of her best childhood friends had kissed her during a game of truth or dare, but she hadn't kissed anyone since becoming a teenager or moving to New York. She had never made out with anyone, or been able to feel so close with someone as she did with Katherine at this very moment, and God, did it feel good. The fact that she had had a friend crush on Katherine for God knows how long probably had something to do with how this felt so euphoric, like such a relief, too.

"I don't know better than you, and you know that, T!" Katherine objected. Thylane had served as her personal therapist in the past few years, especially when Sydney and Alex were feuding. When no one else was around or willing to listen to her complaints, Thylane was always willing to offer her her time and advice. Though Kat probably was not as verbally grateful for it as she should have been, her friendship with Thylane was one that she cherished. She felt comfortable telling her things that she would have been embarrassed to admit to most people, so even if she wasn't drunk like she was now, she wouldn't have felt weird joking about how sexually inexperienced she was with Thylane, because she talked about it with her in normal conversation.

"You're a good enough kisser that now it's hard for me to believe that you're a virgin," she said, making a mock accusation, though her voice remained soft. She allowed her fingers to glide down Katherine's neck, tracing her collarbone. She wanted to allow them to fall farther down on the girl's body, but even with liquor in her system, Thylane knew that she had to have self-restraint. She was more intoxicated right now than she had ever felt (which wasn't really saying much, since she had only ever had a drink or so at parties), but she was still completely conscious of what she was doing. She was feeling bolder than usual, but not out of touch with herself.

Compliments made Katherine happy, but rather than say thank you, she leaned in to kiss Thylane once more, almost as if she was going to need that reminder when it came to the question that Katherine posed once she pulled away just enough to whisper into her ear. "Can't you change that for me? Tonight?"

It took a lot for Thylane to not say yes to that, and either turn out the lights right here and help Katherine undress, or insist that they call a ride to go back to Katherine's home, without anyone even noticing that they left. This was what she had wanted forever! Suddenly her fantasy was right at her fingertips, and yet her conscience told her that she couldn't do it. She valued this friendship too much, and she knew Katherine too well to think that the girl would wake up tomorrow feeling as comfortable with all of this as she seemed to be tonight. "I wish I could say yes, but I don't want you to wake up tomorrow and never want to look at me again. I like you too much to risk that."

"No... I think you just need more tequila! Be back!" she announced, as she gently pushed Thylane off of her. Her smile widened at the thought of tequila... it was exactly what she needed too, right now. Thylane's claim that it was surprising that she was a virgin had her thinking (albeit hazily through her drunkenness) about why she still was a virgin. Seventeen wasn't that old to have never slept with anyone, but given that all of her closest friends had, she definitely felt a bit more than insecure about it. She had body image issues that had always been the first reason she gave herself for why she could never sleep with anyone, but when it came down to it, Kat couldn't feel intimate towards anyone that she didn't truly like, and truly know. She wasn't like the girls who saw a cute guy and instantly knew that they wanted to go home with them and have a one night stand. She couldn't relate to that mindset, because it was impossible for her to have those sort of sexual or romantic feelings for anyone that she hadn't known for quite some time. In fact, the only person who she had ever thought she was close to feeling that way towards was Ace, a guy that she went on a few dates with a few months back, but because feelings like that scared her so much (and because she was in a bad spot mentally for other reasons), she ended that almost as quickly as it begun. Tonight though... for the first time in forever, Katherine felt comfortable in this environment. Things felt natural, and she wasn't scared of how she looked, or how Thylane perceived her as they sat on Alex's bedroom floor, ignoring the spirited party going on downstairs in favor of just enjoying each other's company.

Her exit wasn't as quick as she hoped it would be, because even now being in only fuzzy socks (ones that she might have stolen from Alex's closet), and not having to deal with her high platform heels, it took a great deal of focus and agility for Katherine to actually be able to get onto her feet and stay on them. It was only then that she really felt the shots from earlier take their toll, and because Katherine was definitely a lightweight, it was not likely that she was going to be able to stomach another shot so soon, but she was going to try anyway. "My little midget baby!" was the first thing that Katherine exclaimed when she got downstairs, luckily seeing Alex early on once she reached the party level of the house. She flung her arms around the girl, partly out of how overjoyed she was, and tended to be when drunk, and also because she needed a little bit of assistance stability-wise. "I thought you died! I thought Edward Cullen showed up and kidnapped you and none of your fake friends stepped in to save you like I would have!" Though her 'fake friends' comment had to be thrown in, it seemed like for the moment, Kat was forgetting the altercation between herself and Sydney earlier, and since her phone was tossed to the side somewhere in Alex's room, she hadn't read her friends responses. "Ugh, I'm so glad that you're alive and beautiful and let's get shots to celebrate! Thylane and I are having our own party in your room, but once she agrees to sleep with me I'll come back down here and bless you all with my presence once again!" Katherine said, and surprisingly, rather than slurring her words, she kept up the quick paced speed that she was known for in her speech. She was just too excited, really.

Katherine's clumsy exit only made Thylane's smile grow, and though a part of her wondered if the drunk girl would even remember to return once the excitement of the party downstairs caught her attention, she wasn't overly worried about it. For one, Kat's shoes were still up here, and secondly, Thylane could at least feel reassured that Katherine's friend group would be going through issues of their own tonight, to hopefully make Kat more inclined to want to be around her over them. Though she knew that it probably wasn't the smartest move, even Thylane, who was used to being secretive and private about her own business couldn't contain the secret of what had just happened. She had to text someone, and given that she didn't have many friends, she found herself texting Cassidy.

To: Cassidy

Though she preferred her tight-knit, exclusive friend group, there were many other people who were willing (or really, desperate) to socialize with Sydney when she opted against the former. She only opted against seeking out Katherine or Alex during the past hour because of that post. Katherine had irked her enough that Sydney was tempted to give her the cold shoulder until she apologized to her for even considering that the post held any truth, since that was an insult in itself, and until she saw Alex's text in their group chat, she didn't want to run into the birthday girl and have to explain herself. When she read Alex's message, siding with her (and logic!), Sydney definitely felt relief. That was one less unnecessary conversation that she would have to have, or one less conversation that she was expected to have, given that her new mindset told her that whether Alex expected an explanation from her or not, she wasn't going to give it to her. By the time that she read the message, though, Sydney was busy socializing with a group of guys and girls that attended The Dalton School. Most of their parents ran in the same elite circle as Sydney's, which meant that it wasn't surprisingly that they knew most of the students at Constance Billard and Saint Jude's. They were good company, and a good distraction from the drama that she knew she would have to face sooner than later, even if she told herself she wasn't going to acknowledge it, like in the way that Vincent's text was immediately deleted after she received it.

Sydney had purposely been going slow on the drinking, but when the song she and the group had been dancing to ended, she departed from them momentarily to return to the bar. When she got there, she only ordered a water, though. With her emotions running high tonight, and a bit of alcohol already in her system, she didn't need anything else fogging up her mind. With a glass of the ice cold water drained, she decided to "be the bigger person" and texted Alex, though she still wasn't going to directly acknowledge the post. She also decided to text Ricardo, mostly out of boredom, but also because she was sure he would have something to say once she saw him, so it was better to beat him to the punch.

To: Alex
There's no reasoning with her. In my defense I begged her not to get drunk tonight to save you from her craziness. Come find me

It's a shame... you really must not be that interesting anymore if everyone's concerned about making up what Vincent and I are up to, over whatever the King himself is doing! How does it feel to have your thrown stolen by a boy wearing suspenders, HelΓΊ?

B there in 1 min

Alex shook her head with a wry smirk at Sydney's obvious frustration, but text the girl acquiescence and tucked her phone away again once more while also tucking away the tendrils of doubt in her mind. Again, she was giving her friend the benefit of the doubt and as she had pretty much stated to Ricardo, Alexandra was trying to enjoy her birthday party. She genuinely had no idea what she was going to do on the day of and she wasn't going to dwell on the fact that Cliff did not, at all, state that he wasn't interested in spending it with her. At the same time, it felt too...intimate, which her subconscious was more than willing to add her two cents about it. In fact, without her permission at all, her brain automatically went back to Vincent, how she hadn't even considered saying no when he proposed to spend a night celebrating with her. Had only the slightest hint of reservation, maybe, but she was anticipating that time alone. Had readily complied...

And obviously not had enough to drink, she concluded mentally, all ready to find Sydney and be in the company of the blonde and perhaps some scotch. Obviously, Alex had not had enough to drink yet. She was too clear-headed right now. Just as she was planning to get moving again, though, a very familiar (though somewhat shrill, even with the current music pounding out through the walls playing) voice rang out and before Alex could make a retort about being called a midget, the aforementioned voice came with long arms and a very warm, almost heavy body. Alexandra couldn't even lie; in comparison to most of her friends, she was a midget and even in her heels and Kat in what looked to be very much Alex's socks, she was still considered tiny. Yet and still, her diminutive stature did not equate to weakness, which was why it wasn't difficult to hold Katherine up. There was a slight strain, that made a breathless, "Whoa there, Kit Kat," get punched out of her mouth, and a change in her stance to actually stabilize the girl. But Alex knew, especially in taking in Kat's almost glassy gaze, that the girl's loss of equilibrium was due to her alcohol intake. At the end of the day, however, considering it was a party and so Kat's drinking was not at all a surprise, Alex could only feed off of the girl's vivacity and enthusiasm, another sound - a sharp laugh - punched out of her as Kat prattled on about Edward Cullen and fake friends. Obviously, the brunette hadn't read Alex's response, which made the vampire queen in question roll her eyes, but she listened indulgently, grin wide.

"Wait, you and Thylane? Really?" Were the only words Alex initially could get out, her currently amber eyes wide with interest because even though there was a definite fog due to her tipsiness, there was no way in hell she wasn't coherent enough to register with the fact that her straighter-than-straight-see-no-evil-hear-no-evil-sheltered Katherine Arnault was talking about taking another girl to bed. Never mind the fact that Kat was a virgin, last Alex checked. Alex gaped for a moment, but then - a sign that the alcohol was definitely in her system because a fully sober Alex would never promote losing one's virginity when alcohol is involved - supportive, giggly friend was down for the cause. Squealing and sharing Kat's excitement, bouncing on her toes for a moment, Alex was quick to list off things for the brunette, gushing out, "Ok, umm, there are condoms in the nightstand...oooohhh flavored ones too, I think! Don't use all of them cuz I like them and there's chocolate one in there that I'll kill you for! Kidding, but seriously, always use protection. No matter if it's a girl or a guy - I can't believe you and Tee!" It was said as an afterthought, but she was quick to fix the brunette with a sharper look, punctuated by a pointed finger. Her grin, however, was definitely a stark contrast to what she was hoping was a stern look. "But don't use my bed. I don't care if y'all are still naked when I get there, but I'm sleeping in my bed and I don't need that mess in my sheets. Blankets are in the closet." It was a lot of words and Alex knew that, which was why she started giggling again. Kat's excitement was infectious. Or maybe that was her brain deciding she needed some water instead of scotch, Alexandra couldn't tell.

Releasing Katherine finally, Alex turned to leave, grasping the girl's wrists and making sure that she was standing straight and that her weight was equally distributed so that it was possible. If she had known that Katherine was going to the bar just like her, Alex would've just dragged her to Sydney and they all could've been drinking together. It was definitely a thought. Then Kat wouldn't be all upset anymore. But Alex figured she needed to get to Sydney and her tipsiness at the moment, considering she didn't have any negative feelings towards Sydney, made her feel more inclined to satisfy the blonde. And obviously she was instructed to find her, so that was what Alex was going to do. And she needed to drink something, obviously. The good sense left in her suggested water and it was cold while the room was definitely hot. It would be the same punch that alcohol would be, right? "Well, I'm gonna go. Gotta find a blonde assassin," she remarked, tossing a big smile at Katherine before disappearing into the crowd. It didn't take Alex long to find the bar; it would be a shame, no matter how much alcohol she had in her system, if she couldn't manage inside of her own house. She saw Sydney sipping on water and made her way over, eyebrow arched imploringly at the small smile playing at the blonde's lips as she gazed at her phone. Leaning against the bar, Alex ordered a water for herself, giving herself a pat on the back for being such a big girl at the moment despite wanting to revel in this loose feeling that came with alcohol, peeking over at Sydney from beneath her lashes cheekily, while inquiring, "And who might I be able to accuse of putting that look on your face, Miss Assassin Queen?"

Despite what Katherine would tell people, Cassidy was not obsessed with her. She liked to antagonize her, because she found Katherine to be feeble-minded and easily manipulated into over reacting and being emotional in ways that were amusing, but she did not want to be her, or envy her in the ways that Kat liked to talk about. There was a time, when Cassidy wanted to be friends with girls like Katherine Arnault, but that was long before she even knew Katherine, or lived in Manhattan. By the time she moved into the city, those dreams were gone, and by the time that she met Katherine, they were definitely dead. One would think that because of that, it would be hard for Cassidy to enjoy herself that Katherine was at, especially when it was being hosted by a girl who was one of Katherine's closest friends, and therefore, automatically just as shallow and vain as Cassidy viewed Katherine as being. Luckily, that wasn't true. In fact, Cassidy was enjoying her night at Alex's party far more than she would admit. The constant stream of top shelf liquor helped, but beyond that, she was enjoying the company of Brent (who may or may not have been the reason for her needing to touch-up her makeup more than once already tonight...), and the other friends that they interacted with. She had managed to turn around her spirits so much so, that she wasn't even bothered as Brent would interrupt their fun every few minutes to make a deal, or text someone back about a drug deal. He insisted that he was almost done for the night; that he only had one more sale to make, so that allowed her to relax as they headed back towards the bar to pick up another drink.

On her way over, Cassidy was forced to stop dead in her tracks at a text she received from Thylane. She resumed walking only once she realized that there were people behind her, but her response wasn't even dramatic, given just how shocked she truly was at the girl's words. Cassidy had a feeling that Thylane was bisexual when they first met, though she had never actually brought it up, so that wasn't the surprising part. The surprising part of all of this was that Thylane said she had made out with Katherine. Katherine of all people! Part of Cassidy was simply shocked that Thylane would be so emotionally blind as to feel any sort of attraction for Katherine, but the other part of her was baffled at the idea of Katherine making out with Thylane. Her being bisexual or gay definitely was not something Cassidy would have put money on.

To: Thylane
Ew. I don't think I'm ever gonna talk to you again after this night either.

Her response to Thylane was a typical-Cassidy one; one that was harsher than necessary, but also not as heartfelt as she wanted to act like it was. It was easier for Cassidy to process things by responding with bitter and cynical humor, over actually showing her true emotions. Surprisingly, though, she allowed herself to be a bit on the rawer side in regards to how she was going to handle this with Brent. While Thylane's part in all of this was semi-understandable, Cassidy was simply flabbergasted at the idea of Katherine partaking in anything of the sort, with just alcohol in her system. "Did you sell something to Katherine tonight? Be honest, seriously," she said to Brent, once they reached the bar. The fact that Sydney and Alex were present at the bar and Katherine, their usual third, was notably absent, only confirmed that Thylane wasn't lying (even though Cassidy hadn't assumed she was to begin with anyway).

It really didn't take Alex very long to find Sydney, and for that, she was relieved. She was also relieved that the birthday girl seemed to be in good spirits, and acted normally upon finding her, which revealed that the way that she had responded to Katherine's text hadn't just been an act. At least for now, she didn't think she had much explaining to do to Alex, and she was grateful for that. Part of her wanted to explain it though; or at least respond to Alex's inquiry with a remark about how she was just baffled and annoyed that Katherine could be so naive to believe a blog post that was an assassination of her character. Maybe go off too, on how Kat was already drunk and how Sydney was the one who had told her multiple times to not get too crazy and let this night be about Alex. But it was that last thought that had her keep all of that inside, as she forced her face to soften into a smile. "You know I was born with resting bitch face," she remarked playfully, "So no one to accuse of anything just yet." Later on, once she found out who was behind that picture included in Gossip Girl's post, Sydney might feel compelled to share that name with Alex (only once she had thought up her own form of retribution for that poor person), but for now, she was going to try to be positive. Even if that seemed nearly impossible at this point. Sydney was done being emotional and deep, a real kind of good friend, but she wasn't going to ruin Alex's night either. She could be a good friend, and just return to putting herself first. Maybe it was the closest thing to a happy medium that she could get, at this point.

"I feel like I've been deprived of my Alex's company all night, though. Does the birthday queen have time for little old me, or am I going to have to get one of these second-class citizens to occupy my time?" She had just come from socializing with people other than those who were in her well-known, small clique, so Sydney had no worries about actually being alone all night, but socializing with people you didn't really care about was never quite as fun as hanging out with real friends. With water in her system now, and no plans on getting really drunk, Sydney knew that she could have at least another drink or two tonight. She would dance, take pictures, drink, chat, and have a good time, if it would help her forget how badly the night had started.

Katherine fed off of Alex's returned energy, feeling more and more convinced that what she was talking about was a good idea, but it was either Katherine's naivety when it came to all things sexual, or just her sheer level of drunkenness, that allowed the meaning of Alex's words to somehow get lost in translation. It was only when Alex departed from her side that Katherine's expression changed from an excited one, to one of confusion. Why would Alex suggest that they use protection, when they were both girls? They didn't need condoms if neither of them had anything that needed to be wrapped in one, Katherine thought, and she was probably visibly puzzled as she remained standing there for a good minute trying to figure out what Alex meant. Trapped in thought, she completely forgot that she came down there to get more drunks for Thylane and herself, and returned upstairs with nothing in her hands, but thoughts definitely on her mind. Somehow, and it was probably only Kat's mind that could come up with this logic, Kat came to the conclusion that Alex must have thought that Thylane was physically a male, that she was transgender, or something along those lines. Any normal (or sober) person would have known better than to even humor or think such an idea could be true, especially when Katherine was closer to Thylane than Alex was, so if anyone would know something like that, it would be Kat, but she wasn't thinking normally or soberly tonight.

She returned to Alex's bedroom, still wearing a confused expression, and she was careful to shut the door behind her gently now, doing her best to regain some sort of more controlled behavior, despite what her intoxicated body wanted to do. Thylane was still sitting on the floor, and Kat approached her in an almost nervous manner. "Okay, T, I think we have a problem," she said unsurely, playing with her fingers in a restless manner. "Alex thinks that you're a boy, and like, that's fine if you are, because I know a lot of people are coming out as transgender or whatever nowadays, but I'm going to be so confused and maybe a little freaked out if you actually are," she admitted. It was undeniable that Katherine was not the most politically correct person to ever walk the earth, and even she was aware of that, but the unnecessary and dumb concern she had over this wasn't coming necessarily out of the belief that Thylane might be transgender in itself, but more so that it would freak her out in terms of just finding out now.

Alex didn't bother correcting Sydney in regards to what she had meant when she had inquired of her facial expression. She could press later, when there weren't a good number of people in her house and Gossip Bitch apparently lurking about. But still, she filed away Sydney's secret smile - the small one Alex had witnessed just before her expression changed - in the back of her mind, her curiosity piqued and her meddling side wanting nothing more than to probe deeper. However, as she had already reasoned, the present company wasn't one she needed to push Sydney Persson in lest she wanted to get snapped at and wind up snapping back with a bit of the same viciousness. The very thought of them going back and forth for no apparent reason - the adrenaline that she knew would come with it, despite the ache in her chest at having to fight with a friend - made her giggle with glee. Though she was pretty sure the blonde would surmise that the sign of laughter was in lieu of Sydney's playful show of neediness. And she could probably consider that she was doing so because of how much alcohol honestly made her feel all carefree and happy. At least, in the beginning, that is. "Oh, my little assassin feels deprived of little ol' me? What are we gonna do about that?"

Alex drank a bit more of her water, feeling it settle in her belly as a cool yet filling groundedness that made her feel a bit better about not wanting to drink anymore of it. She wouldn't feel inclined to do any more shots, that much was for certain. Not unless Kat herself came down and gave her those big doe-like eyes. Other than that particular circumstance, any more alcohol seemed like a big no and she grinned at Sydney, still playful. "Well, tell you what, Miss Persson. You come dance with me right now instead of being all cute by the bar, and you'll have my company for the rest of the night." Giggling, she grasped the blonde's wrist, tugging lightly. "As the queen that you so graciously reminded everyone that I am, I mandate it, in fact. How else am I gonna protect you from all of the second-class peasants?"

It was somewhat surprising seeing Alex settle for just water, and not another drink, given that they were conveniently standing at the bar. It wasn't that Alex was typically a reckless drinker, especially not when compared to their mutual friend, Katherine, but she was known to get a bit more than tipsy from time to time too. Sydney wasn't some always-sober angel herself, but it was fairly well known that out of their trio, Alex and Katherine liked to get drunk to a point of being carefree and wild, whereas Sydney never felt comfortable or happy actually getting crazy drunk like that. Losing control always felt gross to her... or at least that was what she told herself every time she drank, to prevent herself from getting to that point. Sydney had no intentions of ordering another drinking either, so she couldn't really blame Alex at this point, especially since she could tell that Alex was at least a tad bit more intoxicated than she was, but it was still something that she noted.

"Sounds like a fair enough deal," Sydney responded with a smile, allowing Alex to lead her away from the bar. "Anything to make the Queen happy, especially when this is the last birthday you're going to be celebrating with your real friends. Depending on my schedule, maybe next year I'll pull Kat out of her community college classes for a day so we can visit you. It won't top the... interesting things Kat picked out for you from us for your birthday this year, but you know I won't stand for any new college friends thinking that they love you like we do," she teased, pressing herself closer to Alex as the sound of the music grew louder, and the amount of people grew denser.

In the time that Katherine was gone, Thylane had spent a couple of minutes in Alex's bathroom, fixing herself up to look decent for when Katherine returned. After a few minutes of toying with her hair and makeup, she returned to her seated position on the floor, not long before Katherine returned. "Transgender? What?" Thylane responded in utter shock. There was a shock factor to Kat that contributed to her likability, in that you knew you were never going to have a dull moment with her. The things that came out of her mouth were often dramatic, scandalous, and quite often, on the verge of being offensive to someone, and yet the things that managed to surpass those qualifications were usually entertaining and humorous. Katherine had a way with words, and though that way was not eloquent or witty, it was frequently endearing in a way that only Katherine Arnault could get away with. The words that had just come out of Katherine's mouth, however, made Thylane finally stand up, as if she needed to be on her feet to prepare for what genuinely felt like an attack on her character. Being transgender wasn't a bad thing. Thylane was open to all types of people and didn't harbor any feelings of hatred or prejudice towards people who identified differently than her, but it was common knowledge that other people weren't like that. Being accused of being something that you were not, in terms of your sexual or gender identity, often still came with a negative connotation, and beyond that, being told that she was being gossiped about by her friends who Thylane already knew were of higher social standing than herself, felt offensive in itself.

"I'm pretty sure that I'm the one who deserves to feel confused and freaked out right now. You think I transitioned from a boy to a girl?" She had to laugh out loud as she heard herself say that, though there was certainly a sarcastic tinge to it. Despite the laugh, repeating it only enraged her more, and that was apparent in the way that she quickly switched over to speaking French, with her words coming out sharper than a knife blade. "Vous Γͺtes tellement idiot, Kat. Ne savez-vous pas comment penser pour vous-mΓͺme? Avez-vous dΓ©jΓ  envisagΓ© de me dΓ©fendre contre vos amis mΓ©chants, ou est-ce une amitiΓ© unidirectionnelle oΓΉ je dois toujours vous dΓ©fendre et me permettre de faire un pas sur vous?" {"You're so stupid, Kat. Don't you know how to think for yourself? Have you ever considered defending me against your bitchy friends, or is this a one-way friendship where I always have to defend you, and let myself be stepped on by them?"}

"Oh my God! Why are you being so dramatic right now, T? That was literally so unnecessary and rude for no reason and I'm seriously so offended right now..." Katherine responded, her mouth agape as she looked to Thylane with true horror on her face, as if her reaction was just about as misplaced as it could get.

There was no use in getting overly upset. This was who Katherine was, and Thylane told herself now that she knew all of this when she signed up to be friends with her. Katherine was shallow and selfish, and Thylane was a fool for thinking that someone like Kat, who lived in a universe where everything really did revolve around her, could ever be a good friend to someone like her, nonetheless more than a friend. This was a mistake. It was all a mistake, and Thylane forced herself to head towards the door at that thought. "You're absolutely crazy. I really can't deal with you right now, so, goodnight. I'm done with this," she snapped, barely waiting by the door long enough to hear whatever Katherine had to say in response to that.

"Good. I hope you had fun at the last party you're ever going to be invited to!" Katherine shouted back, though Thylane was already partially out of the room by the time she got the statement out of her mouth. Once the girl was gone, Katherine followed her to the door, but only to slam it behind Thylane. The alcohol and the emotions probably played a role in it, but she truly didn't understand what had set Thylane off like that. It wasn't like she said anything wrong, she told herself. She was merely "repeating" what her very trustworthy friend, Alex, had told her. Even then, all that had been asked was a question. She wasn't being stupid, like Thylane accused her of being, and her friends weren't being bitchy to her either. As counterproductive as it seemed, Katherine told herself that Thylane had some type of version of a guilty conscience, and this was her way of reacting to Alex being right about her. Katherine had her own way of reacting to Thylane's outburst though, and that was apparent in what she sent Alex and Sydney once she sat down on the edge of Alex's bed.

To: Alex, Sydney
I know this party is about you Alex and Ily but you needto kick Thylane out RIGHT NOW. All I did was ask her if she was transgender like you said she was and she flipped out and called both of you SO many names and said she was going to do everything she could to ruin this party please kick her out

"Oh my God, you make me scared to look right now," Alex declared loudly as they traversed through the crowd, her hold on her blonde friend not wavering as they made their way through the dense mass of heated bodies. Alex had considered stopping at some point in the middle of the party to look at a few of her friends, but figured it would probably behoove her to not do it with so many present. Considering she really didn't know what her actual birthday was going to consist of, she figured she could either do it tomorrow or then. But either way, just the thought of what Kat's crazy mind conjured up as suitable birthday presents had her filled with excited trepidation. Once they were at a good spot, Alex welcomed Sydney pressing against her, grinning as she spoke into the girl's ear, "And don't you worry your gorgeous little head, Syd. You know you're the only supermodel for me."

"Good, you better keep it that way," Sydney responded, smiling through it. She was ready to leave their conversation at that, especially as one of her current favorite songs was switched on and she felt inclined to start dancing, but some sort of intuition forced her to pull her phone out of her pocket just in time for Kat's text to arrive. It was sent in the group chat, but because Sydney didn't know if Alex had her phone on her, she read what Katherine had written to them aloud before rolling her eyes, nearly to the back of her head, at Alex. "Birthday girl or not, I dealt with her last outburst and let you be, so I think it's your turn this time," she said, almost as if they were new parents who constantly had to battle to decide whose turn it was to fend for their screaming newborn at three in the morning. It was petty... definitely petty... but had Sydney liked Thylane (or even felt neutral towards her), she would have told Alex that they were both putting Kat on Do Not Disturb mode for the night and leaving it at that. She didn't care for Thylane, though, so even if she was sure whatever Kat wanted her thrown out for was something related to Kat's own level of intoxication, Sydney wasn't opposed to the idea of her being thrown out. Maybe it would finally rid Thylane from Kay's life, once and for all. Smirking, Sydney added, "Besides, it looks like you are the one to blame for whatever tears are streaming down her cheeks now, Alex. Transgender? At least I'm not that forward about disliking Blondeau, but I can't say that I hate you for it."

"Ugh," Alex moaned pitifully, even opting to stamp her feet as petulantly as she could without accidentally stepping on Sydney's. "Do I have to?" Normally, Alex didn't really have a problem dealing with Kat, even when the girl was drunk. She was usually entertaining. But, damn it, she wanted to be selfish! Sydney had spared her once apparently, and for that Alex was grateful, but last Alex checked, the girl was going to get laid. And by another girl, at that! She had figured some sex would get Kat high off of life and they would all reunite and it would be great. The last thing she felt like dealing with or even thought that she would have to deal with was the girl throwing a temper tantrum at whatever happened between them. "Fine, but you're coming with me. And we're getting food. And for the record, I never said the girl was transgender. All I said was that safe sex is the best sex." Alex encircled Sydney's wrist with her hand once more, a sign that she was definitely not backing down from having the blonde with her, and led her back through the crowd and into the kitchen where she knew some staff members would be lingering.

Luckily, one of the maids was drinking from a water bottle and Alex beckoned her over. "Send some food and some juice and water up to my room, please." Alex paused, already feeling a headache forming when all she had wanted to do was lose herself in music and sweaty fun. She glanced back at Sydney for a moment, wary, and then back to the maid. "And get Thylane Blondeau removed from the party. She's...uh, disturbing my guests..." The maid seemed to take Alex's hesitation into consideration, so Alex snapped that she get to it before storming away with Sydney. Eventually, they were on her bedroom's floor and once down the hall, Alex opened the door to her bedroom to look at Kat, exasperated. "Kat, how do you wind up being your own cock-blocker? I didn't even think that was possible!"

Sydney had half a mind to refuse to go with Alex, because dealing with Kat was the last thing that sounded enjoyable right now, but between Alex's grip on her arm, and the fact that it was her birthday, Sydney knew she had little choice in the matter. Though silent, she was more than pleased with what went on in the kitchen, and she followed closely by Alex's side as they headed upstairs. Once in Alex's bedroom, they found Kat sitting on her bed. Sydney was still annoyed at Katherine from the show she put on earlier, slandering Sydney's character following the post regarding Vincent. She still wanted to act cold and unforgiving towards the brunette, and spite her for as long as it took for Kat to apologize and fully take back her comments, but while Sydney could be stubborn, she wasn't stupid. Katherine was wasted, and she wasn't going to get anywhere on that topic tonight with her in this state of mind. If anything, right now their best bet was to do what Alex seemed to be thinking too - eat something, have some water, and then hopefully force Katherine to either sober up or go to bed so they could return downstairs to enjoy their evening. "I'm offended that I'm the one out of the loop here, and confused just the same. Who were you, of all people, trying to sleep with?" Sydney inquired, her words a bit harsher than she meant them only as a defense mechanism to now feeling lower herself, for being the last to hear this news. It never would have crossed her mind that it was Thylane, even with the transgender and safe sex references that were made.

Even drunk, in this state where her needs were the most utmost important things in the world, to an extent that reached far beyond its normal hold, Kat was surprised that Sydney and Alex actually came upstairs to find her after those texts. In a hopeful mind, that would represent her knowing deep down that she was dramatic and she couldn't send out extreme text messages and expect her friends to come running at the drop of the hat, but the more likely reason behind her surprise was that she assumed they would both be too busy to see the text. Last time she saw Alex, she was on her way to the bar, probably ready to have the best birthday night ever, and last time she saw Sydney, the blonde needed a drink to an extent where Kat hoped Alex had found her soon after and forced vodka down her throat... if she didn't cut her throat open first, for what that Gossip Girl post said.

Right now, Kat wasn't really consciously thinking about any of that though, because in distress, all she could think about was herself, and how absolutely, positively, mean Thylane had just been to her. She didn't deserve to be snapped at and called stupid! She was a good friend to Thylane! She was probably the only reason she was invited to this party to begin with, and this was how she repaid her?! Absolutely inconceivable, was what it was!

Even if she was surprised to see the girls come in, she wasn't bothered by it. It was comforting, even if both of them came in sans the "aw, poor Kat!" reaction she was hoping for. "Thylane rejected me because I'm ugly and disgusting and because Alex told me she was transgender and all I did was ask and she got really mad and said I was stupid and that you guys were bitches and that I never defend her against you guys," she exclaimed, feeling like that was a sufficient answer for both of them. Tears welled up in the back of her eyes, but crying probably would have garnered more sympathy for Kat if she wasn't prone to doing it every other day, for the most unimportant reasons.

Alex wanted to roll her eyes and caught herself before she did, but shared a glance with Sydney before she addressed Kat. The brunette's current state brought on an unwanted dose of sobriety, her BFF-in-distress mode filtering out some of the tipsy haze the second she saw Katherine's eyes get glassy. Seeing Katherine cry over any given situation wasn't new, but Alex was definitely sure that the girl being upset and wasted wasn't going to do any good. "Awww, babe," she cooed as she made her way over to the girl, eventually crawling into the floor to sit on one side of her. "You're not ugly or disgusting, and fuck that bitch if she made you feel like you were." To be quite honest, Alex genuinely liked Thylane. They weren't enemies by any standards nor were they close, but she had liked her enough to ignore the idea of the girl calling her a bitch for no reason. But she did, though delicately, think to add, "But sweetie, you gotta know I didn't mean that she was trans. I was just saying that girls use condoms with other girls sometimes and that you should...if something was going to happen."

Sydney was good at maintaining a poker face, and showing absolutely no emotion when the situation warranted it. In fact, she was practically known for having the utmost control over her emotions, to a point where some people swore that she had no feelings at all. Right now, she felt no need at all, to hide the look of absolute disgust on her face when Katherine seemed to say that she had been on the verge of hooking up with Thylane. Whatever Alex was saying about female condoms only confirmed that, and Sydney found it impossible to follow in Alex's suit and take a seat on Katherine's empty side. Instead, she remained standing a few feet in front of them, arms crossed over her chest as her facial expression spoke the words that she didn't even need to say at this point. She would say them anyway, though, but only because now she was sure that she didn't have the patience to deal with Katherine tonight. This was supposed to be Alex's night, and Sydney was already struggling to follow her "good friend" path due to her own drama that had happened tonight, to have even a speck of patience left to deal with Katherine's usual dramatics. "If the two of you are telling me that you almost hooked up with Thylane Blondeau, then you need to go home right now, Katherine. This is Alex's party, and you're clearly beyond wasted, and you're going to regret whatever you've been doing when you wake up tomorrow. Either stop being so dramatic and selfish, or go home." She knew she was being harsh, and that was why she didn't look to Alex for support on this one, but she had no problem drilling a glare right into the center of Kat's face.

Alex's words had been comforting, even if Katherine still could not comprehend in the slightest what female condoms were, but just when she was about to start feeling even slightly more relaxed than before, Sydney made her presence known. If her body language didn't already show it, her words told Katherine that she was not in the mood for... well, apparently, anything. β€œI’m not even drunk. I’ve only had like… ten drinks!” she objected, though her emotional tone, combined with the exaggeration of her claim in itself suggested against what she was saying. β€œAnd I would go back to my house if it wasn’t scary when I’m the only one there,” she complained, almost being out of it enough to consider turning to Alex with puppy eyes to ask if she would leave the party too, and come back to her house a few miles away with her. She caught herself, luckily, but only because Sydney had just called her out on being selfish, and not because she noticed how ridiculous of a request it would be, given that this was Alex’s party.

β€œMe being upset about Thylane being mean to me isn’t as selfish as you fucking Vincent in the bathroom downstairs anyway. Maybe you should go home,” she countered, and now, her voice was finally changing from a near-whine to one with more animosity than hurt in her voice. Katherine only really ever fired back at Sydney when she was very intoxicated, or very, very stressed out or emotional when sober, and though it was a combination of the two tonight, it was definitely the alcohol giving her the courage. β€œBut whatever,” she snapped abruptly, as she somehow managed to pull herself to her feet, at one point using Alex’s head as a prop to lean her hand against to garner the strength and coordination to get up. β€œI’ll go enjoy the rest of my best friend’s party, since she’s the only person on the planet who even cares about me, while you two do whatever you want to do in your lives,” she announced, not noticing or caring how she probably wasn’t making much sense. She wasn’t over what had just happened with Thylane, and there was no way that her mood would fully recover from it, especially since she had probably reached her alcohol quota for the night, but this didn’t seem like a fun situation to stay in either.

"Ok, ouch," Alex hissed as Kat used her to stand on unsteady legs. She wasn't even sure the girl would make it back down the steps on the stilts she called legs, but she was pretty sure that Kat would try given the tension between herself and Sydney. The mention of Vincent and the immediate hurt she felt before squashing it made her frown, almost just sit there and let Katherine go about her drunken business and pray the girl eventually found a room to pass out in. But Alex didn't bother dwelling on that thought and instead, snatched up Katherine's wrist. "And speaking of selfish, I am gonna be selfish because like you both said, this is my party and I am your," she tugged at Katherine's wrist until the brunette met her inexorable gaze, held it and then sent a less severe, more pleading look to Sydney, "best friend. And I have one more request for the both of you and then you could go on to hate each other for the rest of the night."

After a beat, Alex sighed and tugged at Katherine to sit back on the floor. It wasn't a difficult feat considering Kat's own inebriated state. "You both are gonna sit here and we are gonna drink water and eat the food that's being brought up here, whether you're hungry or not. Because I'm hungry and if the birthday girl wants company while she eats, I think it's only fair that two of her best girls. And, if you need any more of an incentive, we can even get someone to bring these presents Syd apparently thinks is gonna drive me up the wall so you can see my face when I open them."

Sydney wasn't going to address the Vincent rumor, at least not tonight, but she was so close to slapping Katherine across the face after she so crudely accused her of doing what the Gossip Girl post insinuated that she had done, that she could no longer remain mum on the issue. Not only did it feel wildly offensive to her, but she could only imagine that it made Alex feel uncomfortable, at the very least too. The majority of reasons behind her feeling the need to address it were selfish ones, but she did, truly also want to address it also, to quell whatever worry she was sure that Alex had, over these rumors, too.

Once Alex had pulled Katherine back to the floor, and made her request that they stay in her room for long enough to eat and drink, Sydney took a brief moment to calm herself down before looking to Alex and nodding. She could do that. She could be a good friend right now. "If Katherine's actually going to eat something, then I can agree to sit here and honor your wishes too," Sydney said, purposely acting callously towards Katherine's aversion to eating, especially around other people. She didn't leave it at that, though, as she stepped towards Katherine, and surprisingly actually dropped down to her knees so that she was in a straddling position over the intoxicated girl's lap. As much as she wanted to hate Katherine right now, it was undeniable, especially at this angle, that the girl was wasted. This was how Kat acted when wasted, and Sydney knew that she had surpassed the point of knowing that she had to accept Kat and all of her quirks, in order for their friendship to work. Knowing her for so long, however, meant that Sydney didn't hesitate to reach out and grab each of the girl's cheeks, pinching ever so slightly to force Katherine to look at her, but also listen. "And only since you keep bringing it up, I want you to know that I. Did. Not. Do. Anything. With. Vincent. I didn't want to throw him under the bus, but you give me no choice, so what actually happened, was that he pulled me away from Ricardo and Charlotte to ask me how he could get Clifford to stop hitting on Alex. Being a good friend, I told him that he needed to let Alex be, and that if Clifford or any other guy makes her happy, then he should focus on her being happy with him, and not always think about what makes him happy. So, as the biggest Vincent Mast hater on the planet, I better not hear another word about that coming from you," she said, giving Katherine's face a final, and harder squeeze, an act of showing that she was seriousness, before sliding off of the girl and sitting beside her. She had purposely only acted like she was addressing Kat during the spiel, because had she even looked towards Alex, she would have returned to that weird vulnerable and emotional place that she swore to herself she wasn't going to go to again with Alex.

In the last few minutes, the drinks had definitely started to hit Katherine to a point where it was harder to resist any sort of physical movement. Alex pulled her back, and back she went. Sydney sat on top of her and forced her face towards her, and that was exactly what she did. Regardless of whimpering at the force being used (which, even being fairly gentle given the tension, could still be chalked up to attempted murder in Kat's books). She deserved credit for actually attempting to process and retain what Sydney was saying to her after it was suggested that they eat, but then again, the physical position that Sydney had over her made it kind of impossible not to. Given the tension in the room, it was probably a good thing that she tried too, because Sydney's explanation, coupled with Alex saying that they could open presents, suddenly made Katherine feel a little less miserable. In fact, at the realization that Sydney was saying that she had essentially told Vincent to back off of Alex, Katherine actually smiled-- or did so once Sydney had released her face from her lobster-like clasp. "Good. Even though you're not a good friend to me, at least you're a good friend to my beautiful soulmate, Alexandra Marie," she said, as her hand fell onto the leg of Alex who sat beside her. She gave the girl's leg a squeeze of affection as she spoke, and continued to say, "Aren't you so happy that you have us as friends?"

It was finally the day of the senior class fall trip. Clifford had been to Paris numerous times before, but that didn't stop him from being genuinely excited to return to France, but this time, with his friends and classmates in tow. The only thing that he wasn't looking forward to was the seven and a half hour flight from JFK to Paris. It was a red eye flight that the school had booked entirely for their students, leaving at 7:30 PM and getting in right around 9:00 AM, which Clifford preferred, at least. He wasn't a light sleeper, so falling asleep on the plane wouldn't be a challenge, and then they'd have the entire day in France for exploring, rather than only half a day due to a later flight arrival.

With only another fifteen minutes or so until boarding began, Clifford found himself sitting at the Wendy's in their terminal, Terminal 2, with a few kids from the lacrosse team. Even though the night was technically winding down, now, everyone seemed to be energized and ready for the upcoming week. There was nonstop chatter about the sights that they would see, and how fun the trip would be given that even though all of them weren't eighteen, and old enough to be served liquor in France, that they were all, at least old enough to be served wine and beer, and as they all knew, that was enough to have a good time. The students couldn't complain about the way that their school handled these trips, either. The students were all divided into groups of ten students, or so, and a teacher turned chaperone was assigned to each group. While the chaperone was responsible for the group's well-being, a lot of the time, they had a hands off approach, where they would simply give the groups a time that they needed to meet back at certain points throughout the day, but other than that, the students were free to explore as they wished.

Clifford left his friends at the fast food spot a bit early, in order to give himself time to use the restroom and then head to a retail spot to purchase a generous amount of snacks for the flight. On his way back towards the gate, he spotted Charlotte, and grinned as he approached her. "Ready for this trip, Miss President? Let's hope that it all goes well, so we don't have to accept blame for something failing when it wasn't in our control anyway."

Alexandra had been starving by the time they had made it to the airport, so she and a few girl friends with whom she could take an adequate amount of selfies with got a chaperone and they headed off to Due Amici to get a bite to eat. Alex could really only blame herself for her hunger. Regardless of how much she showed out for things like every day outfits and parties, she really didn't put that much effort into packing. In fact, she had procrastinated until late last night (and yes, she was aware that she had pointedly ignored Sydney and Charlotte's lectures about responsibility) when it came to packing and spent the majority of said night making sure that she had everything that she was going to need. She was well aware that she could purchase whatever she left behind once in Paris, but it wouldn't have been her without fretting and pouting and whining while scrambling to put clothing and personal items in her suitcase. So, by the time they had made it to the airport, Alex hadn't even bothered to preen at the compliments she had received for the rather drastic cut to her own hair, no wig or weave necessary. She just needed food in her stomach and she had needed it right then, or someone was going to hate her for the entire flight.

"We should probably start heading back to the others," she declared, popping the last of the calamari their table had shared into her mouth. She had been one of the first to finish eating her roma panini and fresh salad, not feeling a lick of guilt and practically devouring the meal and a good quarter of the calamari. It wasn't the best Italian food she had ever had, but a lot of food tasted exceptional when one was hungry and Alex definitely had been. Stomach full and having finished off her cranberry juice-splashed ginger ale (she would've rather had the Long Island Iced Tea and been able to really clock out for the flight), Alex got their waiter to bring her her check and the two chocolate-filled croissants she had ordered when they first arrived. She already had a big bottle of water and a small container of fresh fruit to snack on. She couldn't help herself; she had a pretty fast metabolism. Once that was taken care of and she had the two treats packed away in her carry-on bag, Alex pulled out her phone to text Sydney and Kat, even though she was going to see them soon.

To: Syd, Kat
im stuffed n dat window seat's lookin mighty nice ;D

While the others idly chatted about the upcoming flight, Alex weighed the pros and cons of actually forcing Vincent to interact with her since she hadn't heard much from him since the night of her birthday bash. A part of her recognized that she should just let it go; there was no need to push him. He didn't really owe her much to begin with. But he was also one of her oldest friends and someone she cared about. Alex didn't like the idea of being ignored by someone she cared about. However, fate made the decision for her because not a second later, she saw Cliff and Charlotte talking, and even though she had wanted to look for the others, she bound over towards them, throwing her arms around Charlotte from behind while grinning at Cliff. "And how are my two favorite class presidents ever!?"

Katherine flew quite frequently, as she traveled a lot for vacations or to visit her mother in California, or her grandparents in France, but the experience didn't lessen the amount of hatred she had for flights over three hours, or so. Even with the short flights, she was only able to tolerate them because she was always flying first class. In all honesty, the only times that Katherine ever flew economy, were through school trips like this one, where she had no choice but to take a "normal" seat just like the rest of the class. The only way that she could get away with snagging a seat at the front of the plane, which always were reserved for the chaperones flying with the class, was to feign some sort of illness that required her having her own space, and extra attention. It wasn't something that anyone would put past Katherine, especially since she had done it in years past, but she hadn't talked herself up to that point just yet. On the plus side, she had just popped a Xanax (courtesy of her psychiatrist, and definitely not Brent Barclay), so she hoped that that would relax her enough to not have a mental breakdown when she boarded the plane. On the flip side, though, she had somehow (and she was insistent that she had never agreed to it originally) ended up with a seat assignment that landed her in a middle seat. A middle seat. Had you asked Katherine for her seat preference, her top choice would have been window, second choice would have been aisle, and before she would agree to sit in the middle seat, she would insist that she would be better off sitting on the wing of the plane. Sitting in the middle seat in the economy section of an international flight seemed like a punishment that even a serial killer didn't deserve, in Katherine's opinion. Only today, was she conveniently forgetting the deal that she had made with Alex and Sydney, where Sydney helped her finish an overdue science lab report, and Alex let her "borrow" a gorgeous bag she had gotten for her birthday, in exchange for her getting the middle seat on their flights.

She had eaten a salad hours ago before leaving home for the airport, but she couldn't resist getting a Wendy's chocolate Frosty to satisfy her hunger and her sweet tooth, a few minutes ago. She had held out all evening while her friends ate at various locations in the terminal, but she couldn't make it all night without giving in. Shockingly, as she licked the last of the ice cream off of the spoon, she wasn't even feeling guilty or angry with herself for indulging. She couldn't even blame that on the Xanax kicking in either, since she had only popped that a couple of minutes ago.

Getting up to throw out the empty cup felt like an incredibly strenuous task once she was comfortably positioned in one of the lounge chairs in the terminal, near their gate, but with a dramatic groan, she managed to do it. As she returned to where she and Sydney were seated, charging their phones, she saw Alex's text message and she didn't even hesitate to respond back with a dramatic lie, before sitting down beside Sydney once again. "Did you see her text? She really thinks you're going to sit in the middle seat instead of her, so that she gets the window," Katherine said, as if it hadn't been decided upon that Sydney was getting the aisle regardless.

To: Alex
Too bad that I'm already on board the plane sitting in the window seat...... maybe next time!!

"How much longer 'til your Xanax kicks in?", coupled with a small smile, was how Sydney chose to reply to Katherine's continued insistence that she wasn't going to be the one, out of the three of them, to sit in the middle seat of the plane. For Sydney, it went without question that she wouldn't be sitting there. She liked the aisle seat, and that was the seat she had declared she was taking when the girls chose their row a few weeks back. Alexandra had insisted on getting the middle, and after a bit of bribery, Katherine had agreed that she wouldn't put up a fight about having to get the middle seat. It wasn't the end of the world, even if that was probably easy for Sydney and Alex to insist on, when they weren't the ones sitting there. The point of the matter now, was that she and Alex had held up their ends of the agreement, so now it was time for Katherine to do the same. While some people may have been turned off by Katherine's quick switch-up on them on the day of the trip, Sydney was expecting this, and judging by the cheekiness in Alex's text, she knew the other girl was too. Katherine could be as dramatic as she wanted to be, but it wasn't going to change that she would end up sitting on the floor before she got Alex or Sydney's seats. The fact that she had just taken a Xanax reassured Sydney that it probably wouldn't be a big problem. Given the dosage that had been prescribed to her, and Katherine's minuscule weight, Sydney was positive that the girl would be knocked out before the plane even left the ground.

Although she was fairly tired herself, Sydney was in a surprisingly good and optimistic mood today, so she had the patience for Katherine. In fact, she hadn't separated from the girl since arriving at the airport, even as Alex and some of the others went off to sit down and eat. Sydney despised airport food. It was a blanket statement, and one that she knew wasn't always fair, but something about eating at airports grossed her out. She didn't like fast food to begin with, so Wendy's and places like that weren't viable options for her, and she simply preferred not to eat at any of the restaurants in the terminal. She purposely ate before getting to the airport, and had a few granola bars in her purse for when she got hungry during their travel. Her time at the airport had been spent mostly relaxing, and corresponding with her agent, who insisted that she needed to somehow excuse herself from the school's trip agenda for a day to make it to a Chanel photo shoot that he had secured her a spot in. It wasn't going to happen. Not necessarily because she didn't think that she could have her parents pull some strings with the administration, but because she didn't want to. This trip was going to be fun and easy, an escape from her life in New York where she had the pressures of college, and modelling, and her parents hopes for her, weighing down on her all of the time. She was determined to allow this week to be relaxing, and that was why remaining in a positive mood seemed necessary.

Sydney's airport style was very casual, but that was only because she wanted to be comfortable on the long, overnight flight. Besides that, and this was also the reason why Katherine received no flax for her own casual look, Sydney and the girls that she associated with were the kind of girls who looked good in... well, nearly anything. Her look was casual, but you could certainly bet your money that she still looked better than the majority of the try-hard girls that had come fully dressed up, wanting to take as many airport Instagrams as possible. Sydney would change the minute that they reached the hotel, but for her, airplane style never had to be too overdone. Trying too hard was the biggest fashion faux pas, in her opinion.

Since they were sitting close to their gate, Sydney was able to see almost immediately when a few people began to board their school's flight. The announcement for boarding hadn't officially been made yet, but Sydney wasn't interested in waiting until that was made. "Come on," she said, nudging Katherine as she pulled their phone chargers out from the outlet they were sitting by. "Time for you to see just how comfy that middle seat can really be," she added teasingly, as she grabbed the handle of her rolling carry-on bag and her purse, and started towards the gate entrance where tickets were being scanned. Once she got there, waiting for the few students in front of her to be scanned in, she texted Alex quickly.

To: Alex, Katherine
Boarding now. Don't miss the flight Alex! You'll just be teaching her that if she whines enough, she really can always get her way!
