17
Birthday:
December 13th
Year:
Senior | 12th Grade
Role:
The Moral Compass
- Her mother slept with multiple school staff members on multiple occasions in order to get Elle into the school.
- Elle is emotionally abused at home by her parents. They've become increasingly controlling of her life since she began at the school, but she is too scared to say anything to anyone.
- She suffers from anxiety due to her home life and copes by drawing. However, a lot of these drawings are a bit... off... She doesn't want anyone, especially her parents, to find them and think she's disturbed.
- Her father, Robert, is not her biological father. Her biological father was killed in a car crash shortly before she and her sister were born. Her mother married her lover shortly after. Eleanor is unaware of this.
Elle stands at 5' 3" and weighs about 117 lb. Her dark brown hair, though it can appear black in some lighting, frames her face and contrasts her pale skin. It falls to her waist and is slightly wavy. She prefers not to put it up as it's too much of a hassle. Her eyes are green.
As far as her style, she prefers simple, elegant, and comfortable clothing to anything flashy or revealing. She uses a light amount of makeup and despite what multiple friends and family members think, she does not have her ears pierced. Eleanor almost always wears a necklace given to her by her parents.
Eleanor is an intelligent, observant, and introverted young lady. She prefers being on the sidelines, watching and listening, rather than being the center of attention. Though she may come off as cold to others, those who get to know her will find a fiercely loyal and humour loving friend. A realist, Elle sees things for what they are and has a tendency to be somewhat blunt. Her self-confidence has begun to diminish thanks to her parents and her anxiety has only been increasing.

Eleanor and her identical twin Avery were born to Jillian Lowe and her lover (soon to be husband) Robert Madden on a windy December morning. Her father Edward had been killed in a car accident two months prior to their birth. Despite this, Jillian married Robert shortly after the girls' births and he adopted them as his own. To this day, Eleanor doesn't know that her father is not biologically related to her.
The girls had a happy childhood. They lived in Vermont until the age of 5, when the family moved to Woodside, Queens to be closer to Robert's parents. Her parents were also looking for new opportunities in the form of Robert's job as a financial advisor and Jillian's job as an event planner. Thanks to the move, Elle was able to meet DJ and Mel.
Life got more complicated as time went on. Drawn in by the allure of some of their wealthier clients, her parents' attitudes and priorities began to change. They became concerned with their financial status more than anything else. It became normal for the twins to spend more time at their grandparents' or friends' houses than their own. During this time, Elle coped with her parents' absence by taking up an interest in drawing and photography. Avery, however, took up an interest in boys and drugs. Avery's grades began to fall and their parents finally took notice of them again.
Less than satisfied with her grades and behaviour, Avery was sent to live with Jillian's parents in Vermont when the girls were 15. Hoping to add to their family's potential, as well as make up for Avery's mistakes, Jillian and Robert began pushing Elle into becoming their golden child. Intent on her attending a prestigious school as well as mingling with New York's elite, they began looking into her attending Constance St. Jude Preparatory School. Though the school was much too expensive for them, they felt that Elle's good grades would merit a sizable scholarship. She did receive a scholarship, but not nearly as much as her parents had been hoping for. As a result, her mother slept with multiple staff members in order for Elle to receive a higher scholarship amount as well as secure her place at the school.
By the time all of this had occurred, it was the winter of her junior year. She transferred rather suddenly to Constance St. Jude, but thankfully had DJ and Mel there to help her become acquainted with the strange world of the elites. She hasn't found it to be very interesting, rather she's disgusted by it. The world of rich kids using each other and their parents' money for their own gain is somewhat sad and reminds her of why she's there: her parents' lust for money and a "good future" for her. Despite this, she's still using this an opportunity to get into a good college for Photography.
Though her school life is rather uneventful, the drama of her home life has only increased. Her parents were hard on her before, but now they've have become increasingly controlling of her life. Her parents have threatened to send her away too if she doesn't live up to their standards. They've also told her that she could easily be replaced by Avery and nobody would know or care that she was gone. However, she is too scared to say anything to anyone about the emotional abuse she's been suffering.
This year, Elle is hoping to remain unscathed by her peers or Gossip Girl. (She can't expect as much from her parents.) If only things were that simple here in the world of Manhattan's elite.
