She's flirty, playful and a a bit carefree, the only thing she takes seriously is her writing and she's not afraid to speak up about how she feels, and she'll be rather snappy about it.

She has a nasty habit of getting into trouble, her curiosity rivaling that of a cat. ☞History☜
Lea life is rather simple, despite her her mother and father's relationship going from bad to worse. She's always looked after her brothers, especially when they were in the middle of a fight, she'd get them dressed and ready for school, and then go herself, one would think that would take a toll, but not really, her parents were trying for their sake, and her father was always there, though there were times he did get lost in his work or bring it home. She didn't mind though, so long as he was there, she'd often peek from behind the couch as he went over case files. Though admittedly, some made her sick to look at. It's what piqued her curiosity in the first place, she always wanted to know more, and her whole life she's wanted nothing more then to unravel truths and solve mysteries. She even started a blog in middle school, and worked on her every school paper she could. Now that shes's in college, she looking forward to finishing college to start becoming a real journalist.

Becoming a journalist was hard. It was a good thing Lea enjoyed a challenge.
Image
For now though, her biggest challenge was finding the patience to continue working where she was. At a coffeehouse, in New York, during Lunch.

The level with which it sucked to be a barista was astonishing, businessmen and college students alike all seemed to have the same damn chip on their shoulder, and cared very little for all her hard work.

"Thank you, come again." she said after giving her latest customer, who'd been more concerned with the conversation he was having on his phone, to actually grabbing the hot cup of coffee with all of his fingers. The cup slipped, the bottom hitting the counter forcing the hot liquid to splash upward and into her face. The pretty dark skinned girl shrieked, as the crowded to store gasped. The conversationalist actually had the nerve to look at her as if it were her fault!

"I'm not paying for that." He said, taking his attention from his phone for a moment. Lea's eyes went wide, thankfully the coffee wasn't too hot, but still, she was covered in the stuff.

On to the floor went the last fuck she gave.

"Not paying for it?! How about an apology you incredible asshole!" she shouted, peeled off her apron. "You want your shit coffee, Get it yourself, I'm so over dealing with this shit! I quit!" She tossed her apron to the floor, and stormed out of the crowded shoppe. In her haste, she slammed into a man walking her direction.

It was a long day, and for some reason slamming into this random guy forced tears out of her eyes. She blinked them away but a few still fell. "Sorry, I'm sorry" she said, wiping her coffee covered, tear stained face.

New York, it's a wonderful town, that was a Sinatra song right, or maybe it was Chicago. Vito didn't know, the only thing he did know was that New York definitely wasn't a wonderful town. His smart, pointed shoes tapped the pavement as he walked up block after block, not going anywhere, just thinking. Car horns blared and men shouted across the street, but Vito took none of it in. His cold eyes stared at the grey stone sidewalk ahead of him.

Afraid wasn't the right word. Nervous, excited, no, that wasn't it. Apprehensive was the word he settled on as he thought about tonight's meeting.

"Just go in, be yourself" Tony had said. "You could be lookin' at big bucks if you play your cards right".

"Big bucks" Vito said out loud, chuckling, the way some of these guys talked, it's like they weren't talking about drugs or murder or-".

His thoughts were cut off as a young woman slammed into him, he took a step back, noticing the dripping coffee on her tear stained face, and looking down at his tailored black suit. "Aww fuck" he said, seeing the brown coffee stain settling itself on his crisp white shirt. He looked around, noticing the crowd of people in the coffee shop watching.

Vito looked her up and down, "You, you ok?" he asks, staring into the eyes of the coffee covered lady and pulling a handkerchief out of his top pocket, dabbing at the stain.

Image"You, you okay?" The man asked and Lea nodded before looking at him. He was smartly dressed, black suit, crisp white shirt, dress shoes, he looked like something from a movie. Save for the brown coffee stain that soiled his shirt. She felt horrible. "Oh no, your clothes!" she gasped, she wanted to offer to get it cleaned but now without a job and student loans out the wahzoo, she couldn't pay to get it cleaned. "I um, if you pre soak it now, it won't stain?" she offered, running her hands through her coffee soaked hair. She turned up her nose at the smell. She was officially a tea drinker. "Look, I'm really sorry, I'd offer to have it cleaned, but I can't afford it, I just rage-quit my job and I'm still in school...and I don't know why I'm telling you all this." she said with a relenting sigh. "Um, whenever I find a new job, maybe I can do...something...?"

That came out more interesting then she intended. She huffed, hiding her shame behind her hands. "Dear god, that came out wrong..." she said muffled behind her hands.

Vito looked at her in amazement, this coffee covered, sobbing girl apologizing profusely, chuckling as she mentions the pre-soaking. As she ran her hands through her hair Vito got a first glimpse of how attractive she really was, even with someone's morning caffeine dripping off her face. He laughed again,

"Hey, don't worry about it ok" he said calmly, reaching out and touching her smooth hands with his cool, strong fingers, gently pulling them away from her face, before noticing the crowd in the coffee shop once more, "Do you, do you want to go somewhere else?" he asks, still holding her hands in his and looking deep into her eyes. "I know the guy who owns a cafe just around the corner, we could go and get you a towel and some cheesecake?"

"Hey, don't worry about it ok"the man said, after taking her hands from her face. Lea looked up at him as his eyes darted over toward the place of her former employment. She noticed he was awfully handsome, in that classic way you only saw in old movies.
"Do you, do you want to go somewhere else?" He asked her, and it was then Lea noticed he still had her hands and looking into her eyes.
Image
Guys didn't do that, not to her knowledge. They looked everywhere else but her eyes, if they looked at her at all.
"I know the guy who owns a cafe just around the corner, we could go and get you a towel and some cheesecake?"He asked and that forced a smile to tug at her lips.

"That sounds great, thanks." She said, surprised by his nonchalance. That shirt looked really expansive and he was offering her cheesecake.

"I'm, um, Lea, Lea Robinson..."She said, a bit bashfully, she'd offer her hand, but they were still in his. Not that she minded.

"I'm Vito", he replied, smiling, gazing into her enticing eyes. "It's a pleasure to meet you Lea". He paused for a moment, people passing them on either side, hurriedly pacing to wherever they needed to be, while Vito just stared at this woman before him, how she could look so beautiful with coffee covering her he didn't know.

Vito broke the silence by saying, "The shops just that way, it's called Ferraras". He gently let her hands go, placing a hand on her back as he started to walk up the street.

What was going on, one moment it was high level crime, and now it was the prettiest girl in New York. Vito's life was an interesting way, and he knew it, he smiled to himself at the insanity of the situation, was he really going for cheesecake with a girl he just bumped into outside a coffee shop? Did that even happen?

"I'm Vito," He told her with a disarming smile. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Lea." He said and her smile widened a bit. She wasn't sure what was happening here, they seriously just ran into each other and now they were headed for cheesecake.
Typically, this would have set off all sorts of alarms, red flags, and any other warning analogy, but it didn't. She didn't feel anything onimous coming from this guy.

Her instincts were always correct about people, she could get a good sense of them, immediately, and could tell if they were good or bad. She could read people she knew like a book. It used to freak out her friends. She got nothing but good vibes from this guy, though he looked like he had quite the story to tell about his life, he didn't seem like a bad guy. It didn't hurt that he was cute to boot.

"The shops just that way, it's called Ferraras." He said, letting go of her hands, and placing his hand at her back before they started walking. His hand was a safe distance from her backside which gave Lea the impression that while he may be attracted to her, he wasn't going to be a creep about it, it also told her, he was someone who was used to power, a businessman by the looks of him.
Image
"I think I've seen it a time or two."

She walked along with him, with a smile, she was having an awful day, but it might not be so bad at this rate.

"So is Vito like a nickname or is that just it?" she asked as they arrived at the shop.

He laughed, "Yep, that's it" he said as they approached the door, "Well, my full names Vito Luca Delucci, but that's a bit of a mouthful". A small bell tinkled as they entered, and a short man with a big belly, stood behind the counter on the left, looked up and smiled,

"Vitooo! Che piacere vederti! Chi è questa signora?". Grinning, Vito replied,

"I'm good Carlo, this is, this is a friend of mine, her day's not been going too well so far, she was wondering if she could borrow a towel?"

"Of course her day's not-a been going well-a, she's met youuuu!" Carlo laughed rubbing his hands on his apron and turning his attention to Lea, "A towel-a, a towel-a, of course, and please, what would you like-a, anything for-a you" he said, gesturing to the piles of cakes and pies under the glass counter as he turned around and opened a cupboard behind him, pulling out an old but clean off-white cloth, and reaching over the counter with it.

Lea smiled as he laughed. "Yep, that's it." He said as they reached the door. "Well, my full names Vito Luca Delucci, but that's a bit of a mouthful." he told her before the entry bell chimed. She giggled a bit. Her name was rather plain, his was interesting. It was then a small round man smiled brightly at the sight of Vito.
Image
Vitooo! Che piacere vederti! Chi è questa signora?". the man said and Lea really wished she would have chose Italian in school instead of French.

"I'm good Carlo, this is, this is a friend of mine, her day's not been going too well so far, she was wondering if she could borrow a towel?" He told the man and Lea smiled a bit bashfully with a short wave.

"Of course her day's not-a been going well-a, she's met youuuu!" Carlo laughed, one of the jolly laughs, like this man was very happy. He wiped his hands on his apron. "A towel-a, a towel-a, of course, and please, what would you like-a, anything for-a you" He said before handing her a towel from the cabinet behind him. She took it from him gratefully, dried her hairs as beside she could while looking over the sweets. There were cakes and pies, lemon meringue, key lime, tiramisu, carrot, and many different kinds of cheese. Lea's mouth watered at the sight of them all.

"Oh wow, I don't know where to even begin,It all looks delicious." She told Carlo before looking between him and Vito. "Um, What's you guy's favorite, and I'll try that." She said with a grin as she finished drying her hair and her face. She'd knew once she got home, she'd have to take a seriously hot shower that she was sure would make the entire apartment smell like coffee.

"Oh wow, I don't know where to even begin,It all looks delicious."

Vito could only stare at her beautiful face as she looked at the cakes on offer. There was something so, honest, and genuine about her. Sure he'd been with girls in the past but Lea was definitely making a more interesting first impression. He gazed at her dark hair as she dried it, strands clinging together with coffee, how soft it looked. Her lips were gorgeous, full and bright. Her skin seemed so smooth, so warm.

"Um, What's you guy's favorite, and I'll try that."

Vito felt a smile touching his lips as she grinned,

"In which case we'll have two New York cheesecakes please Carlo" he said, taking out his black leather wallet from one of his inside pockets.

"No no no, this one's-a free, è offerto dalla casa, for my friend-a Vito and his girlfriend" Carlo replied, grinning from ear to ear as he cut two slices of cheese cake and slid them onto two seperate plates, adding a few raspeberries from a pot underneath the counter.

"Carlo, we're not, we aren't, mi stai mettendo in imbarazzo" Vito said smiling, taking the two spoons offered by Carlo over the counter, and indicating with his eyes to Lea that he's going over to one of the tables at the end of the cafe.

"Questo è il mio ragazzo!" Carlo projected loudly, chuckling as they walked away.

"In which case we'll have two New York cheesecakes please Carlo" Vito said, pulling out his wallet. Lea reached for the purse at her hip, she only just met the man, ruined his shirt, she did not want him to pay for his cheesecake.

"No no no, this one's-a free, è offerto dalla casa, for my friend-a Vito and his girlfriend"Carlo said, and Lea felt her face warm. Girlfriend? Really? Did they look like a couple? Vito was way too suave to be dating a working class girl like her.

He was just being nice...but why? "Carlo, we're not, we aren't, mi stai mettendo in imbarazzo" Vito said with a smile, he took two spoons form Carlo after the older man spooned fresh raspberries on their slices. Vito gestured to the tables, while Lea tried-in vain- to hid her blush.
Image
"Questo è il mio ragazzo!" Carlo laughed and Lea smiled awkwardly as they moved to the tables.

"Hey um, so I don't speak Italian, Do I even want to know what he said?" She said as they took their seats, a slight frown on her face, but a smile on her lips.

Oddly enough, this did look and kind of feel like a date. It was weird, but kind of nice. She hadn't dated anyone since high school and she wasn't sure she'd count that for anything. She knew she was kind of a tough nut to crack, she tended to read people too much, that made most people, guys in particular uncomfortable. But Hey, She had a thing for mysteries, they just needed to be solved, and right now, she had a mystery in Vito.

"Do I even want to know what he said?"

Vito sat opposite to her, putting the spoons and his plate down on the table.

"He just said, err, you were a very pretty lady" he replied. Actually Carlo had said, "That's my boy" but that would be harder to explain.

As Vito took his first spoonful of the rich white cheesecake he, without looking up, said "So Lea, bad day at work huh?". He smiled up at her. Well this was going well he thought, and this was, this was pleasant, all the girls he had been with had been mainly interested in money, or he met them through his family, and if you knew Vito's family, you'd know they were the wrong girls to be hanging around with.

"He just said, err, you were a very pretty lady" Vito said and Lea nodded, there was more to it then that, but she figured she let it go. She really didn't want to know.

She took her spoon and sunk it into the soft cheesecake, making sure to have a bit of raspberries, she took a bit and her eyes closed as her taste buds came alive with the rich and creamy heaven that was cheesecake.
Image
"So Lea, bad day at work huh?". He said, calling Lea back to reality. She chuckled, behind her hand, she swallowed and nodded.
"Yea...It was crazy, I totally rage quit, so now I need another job." She said with a shrug. "It was just one of those things where I thought, working at a coffeshop, would be cool, I could see my classmates, be right in the thick of a busy New York day, but actually, it sucked on a scale with which I can not even begin to explain." She said honestly. "So now I'm just your everyday, jobless college senior." She said with a laugh and a shrug, then looked at him for a moment, took another spoonful of cheesecake, swallowing and then smiled. "What about you, you're dressed smartly...well you were before you met me." she said and blushed a bit, why did everything she say sound like a double entendre in her head. She merely smiled, hoping for the best.

Vito gazed at her as she spoke, raising his eyebrows when she said "I totally rage quit".

"What about you, you're dressed smartly...well you were before you met me." He laughed, Lea was funny.

"Don't worry about it" he said, smiling confidently. "So you're a student? What are you studying?"

Vito hoped he had avoided the question about his job, he never knew what to say, and even if he did, his was not the line of work that you told other people about. He took another spoonful of cheesecake and checked around, the cafe was empty apart from one man a few tables away drinking a coffee alone.

"Don't worry about it" Vito said, and Lea narrowed her eyes at his too confident smile. "So you're a student? What are you studying?"
Image
"Journalism, I asked you a question first." She told him. It was never a good idea to tell Lea not to do something. The was a surefire way to get her to do the exact opposite.

"You should know something about me, I'm pretty good at figuring people out, you totally avoiding the question just now, which means, you aren't proud of what you do, or simply can't say." She said and looked at him more skeptically this time. "By looking at you, I can tell you make alot of money, you make the money yourself by the way you totally blew off the coffee stain, you don't flaunt it, which is why you didn't say you'd take care of it yourself, then you held your hand on my back, not to imply you wanted anything sexual but that you were interested, subconsciously, and just now, you smiled while avoiding the question which means, you do this often, you don't tell anyone about what you do, or who you are... tell me if I'm wrong..." She said, smiling confidently.
Image
She did that often and was damned proud of it. Her instincts were never wrong, and she knew when to listen to them. They were telling her now, there was something up.

"Well? Am I right, and did I just ruin a potentially interesting mystery?"

"You should know something about me, I'm pretty good at figuring people out", Vito watched, almost in awe as she began talking about him, boy did she notice a lot of things. What was he going to say? He looked around him again as she spoke nodding a little bit to himself, before looking back with his eyebrows raised and his lips smiling, only slightly.

"Well? Am I right, and did I just ruin a potentially interesting mystery?"

Image

He exhaled through his nose before putting his spoon down calmly, wiping his lips on his napkin and leaning towards her across the table.

"Lea" he started, his voice almost a whisper, "You're obviously very, very clever, ok, but being a journalist you are probably aware there's often much, much more to a guy than appears. " He leans back in his chair, "I told you, my name is Vito, that's who I am and yes, if you're wonderin', I am interested in you, is that so much of a crime?" he says, spreading his hands.

Lea watched him with her chin resting in her hand, her spoon dangling from her fingers of her other hand, while she watched him. She knew by his posture, he wasn't going to tell her anything.

"Lea," He began, his voice was soft, and quiet. "You're obviously very, very clever, ok, but being a journalist you are probably aware there's often much, much more to a guy than appears." He said and Lea snorted, as he leaned back in his chair, he was a bit defensive. He really didn't want to tell her, and by his posture now, it seemed more for him then for her. "I told you, my name is Vito, that's who I am and yes, if you're wonderin', I am interested in you, is that so much of a crime?"Lea allowed herself to laugh. She knew she should get up, and walk away now. There was something up with this guy, it was probably bad but now she was curious. Lea being curious was always a bad thing.
Lea shook her head
Image
"You're cute when you're dancing around a question, you know that?" she said, pointing at him with her spoon, before scooping some more cheesecake, and taking a bite.

God this was delicious.

She narrowed her eyes at him. "You should be glad I like mysteries, otherwise, I'd be walking out the door right now." She said. and smiled. "That and this cheesecake is delicious." She said and smiled.

She looked at him then back at her plate for another spoonful. "I'm gonna figure you out, one way or another."

""Well Lea, how would you like to do a bit of figuring out, tonight, over dinner?"
Lea's brow shot to the back of her head. She honestly didn't see that coming. Most guys, by now would have asked for the check, and moved on to the next girl. But not him.

She felt her heart kick against her chest for a moment but she smiled, slow to start but genuine.
Image "Smooth." She told him, with a chuckle. She didn't want to give away how excited the idea made her. "You don't scare easily do you?" She asked rhetorically, before smiling a bit wider.

"And I take it you're not really a 'take no for an answer' kind of guy..." She said, "Which would be bad... if I didn't want to." She said, coyly. Mischief dancing behind her eyes. She let the linger for a moment, before looking at him. She noticed how he always looked her in the eye. There was something about that made her heart speed up.

"I'll say yes, on the condition that you give me one truth about yourself. Something good, not like your age, or something inconsequential like that. I want a personal detail, I don't need your life story, but a little insight into who you really are." She said, and smiled brightly. She knew she was being difficult but her mother always told her that, if you make a guy work for it, then he'll appreciate it, that and you can weed out the ones who don't plan to stick around.

She was really hoping Vito didn't mind the challenge.

"Deal?" She offered, a little more bashfully this time, she knew she was running the risk of scaring him off, but it was a risk she was willing to take.

"Smooth" she said, Vito nodded, smiling, wondering what she was going to say next. He noticed something strange. Every time she smiled, he felt a little warmer and happier, and as she grinned at him he could only grin back.

"Which would be bad... if I didn't want to." Vito raised an eyebrow, intrigued, wow she was a tough cookie.

"You want a truth about me? A truth huh?" he said, clasping his hands together, resting his elbows on the table and his chin on his fingers. "Why are you so interested in the truth? I would say that journalists are used to the truth, but, that's not exactly true now is it?" he said, grinning at her. What could he say, damn she knew how to pressure a guy.

Image

"Well, I don't get on well with my father. There you go, is that a truth you were hoping for, did I make your day?" he says, his smiling fading slightly as I leans back in his chair. That should rock her boat a bit, he thought.

"You want a truth about me? A truth huh?" Vito said and Lea merely raised a single eyebrow. "Why are you so interested in the truth? I would say that journalists are used to the truth, but, that's not exactly true now is it?" He said and she chuckled. He was trying to read her now. "Not in the least."
