Angels, good and evil, enter into the world of the humans

1,989 readers have visited Greater Than Demons since Juvenile-River created it.

Introduction

Ever since the creation of our green planet, a never-ending Invisible War has been fought. This war is not between men or nations, though both unknowingly or otherwise play a role in the battle. No, this struggle is between angels, good and evil. One one side, we have heaven's angels who fight for our well being. On the other are the corrupted angels, often called demons, who fight to destroy mankind from the inside out. Still to this day, this Invisible War lives strong.

Some humans claim that they see these angelic beings. It is said that these individuals may be the descendants of both man and angel, and therefore have inherited the powers of spiritual beings. Another possibility is that these humans are simply gifted beyond the level of ordinary humans.

At any rate, it doesn't seem that the war will end any time soon. For as long as mankind continues to exist, there will be spirits who struggle over the destinies of those humans.

Toggle Rules

Most rules are very universal. Don't godmod, don't contradict each other, treat other players with respect...all that good stuff. I'll spend more time worrying about the more specific rules pertaining to this particular RPG.

In this RPG, players will have a choice of taking on the role of either an angel (good or evil) or being a human with supernatural abilities.

In this story, angels and demons have the ability to take on a physical form similar in shape to humans. In this way, angels may directly interact with the physical world, and also with humans.

Angels have abilities similar to super powers. All, of course, have wings (though they may be invisible to most humans). They are also semi-mortal. If one is killed, their spirit returns to their world of origin (Heaven or Hell) to be reborn. However, an angel does not get an infinite number of tries at life. Dying causes angels a lot of fatigue, and eventually they lose the strength to take human form and enter a deep, endless sleep.

Some humans also have supernatural abilities, though they are rarely equal in power to those of an angel's.

As hinted in the introduction, some characters may be the offspring of angels and humans, or also angels and demons (which would put them in a very awkward position, usually taking the side of the mother who births them).

Romance is allowed, but should be kept clean.

There are three worlds in the RPG: Heaven, Hell, and Earth:

Heaven: A peaceful place of rest for both God's people and his angels. It flourishes with animal and plant life. Some species, in fact, can only be found in heaven. Government here is considered unnecessary, and all answer only to God. There is, however, a loose ranking system of angels, and those of higher ranking are naturally more respected as leaders. Angels who have lost all energy to continue living move on to a country called Paradise, where they are allowed to sleep peacefully until the end of time.

Hell: A world created for the angelic outcasts. Both demons and sinful men dwell here, but they do not coexist peacefully. Far from it, demons often use the humans as slaves and find enjoyment in torturing them. Here, the strongest demons are the ones who govern, with Diablo at the very top. The blackened land of this world mostly only capable of growing weeds, but there is some unique animal life, including the legendary fire-breathing dragons. Demons who have become weary of life can no longer exist in physical form. Their bodies become overbearingly cold, and so are forced to sleep in the only place warm enough to satisfy their cold bodies: the Lake of Fire.

Earth: ...We live here. 'Nuff said.

Paradise by RolePlayGateway

Angels who have lost all energy to continue living move on to a country called Paradise, where they are allowed to sleep peacefully until the end of time. The sleeping angels who dwell here typically take on a form similar to mist, as opposed to their human-shaped physical forms. However, on rare occasion, an angel may be temporarily awakened. They may also take on semi-physical form when they're dreaming.

"So you showed up," called a man's voice from the darkness. "Honestly, I thought you would run and never look back. It certainly would have been the intelligent thing to do."

"Now you're gonna insult my intelligence?" The young man with purple hair, dressed in black, stood on the top of the building. He turned halfway to his opponent, displaying a big smirk on his face. "I'm not afraid of you. I'm more powerful than you are."

"Ha! More powerful than me? You're not even half my age. I can tear you apart with little effort."

"You're right. I am younger than you. But you see, that's to my advantage. I'm at my prime, and you're growing weak from battle. You may have been stronger than me a few hundred years ago, but face it. You're getting old."

The rage building up in the other man was intense. A bright white glow covered him, and white wings appeared on his back. He was dressed in a white robe and carried a heavy axe on his back. His wings carried him a few feet into the air. "Arrogant little punk! I'll show you just how weak I really am, Rotem!"

Then Rotem's appearance changed as well. Black wings appeared on his back, his fingers become long and beast-like, and his teeth were sharp as knives. He rose to meet his challenger in the air. The two spirits clashed with incredible force. The angel swung his axe at Rotem, but the swift demon evaded and sent a punch rocketing to his opponent's face, which was then blocked and countered. They both seemed evenly matched, but Rotem's smile showed his confidence.

"Wipe that stupid grin off your face!" said the angel.

"Is that sweat I see on your forehead?" Rotem was pleased to see the angel rapidly wipe his forehead. "Need a break, Old Man? We can take five if you want."

Angrily, the angel tossed his axe like a boomerang, and when he missed he charged and grabbed Rotem by the shoulders. The two struggled, falling and phasing through the top of the building and into the small convenience store inside. The angel sent a powerful punch into the demon's face, and for the first time, Rotem looked concerned.

"Oh... No you didn't."

Rotem pointed his right middle and index fingers at the angel. "No one touches my pretty face."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A red-headed man dressed in business attire walked into the room of the ruined convenience store. Shelves were pushed over, crevasses made on the floor, and a burn mark on the wall, framing the shape of a man. The chief policeman greeted him.

"Wow. Somebody sure made a mess of this place."

"This is a weird one, Stocker. This woman here reports witnessing a murder. She says she saw the man stabbed near that burn mark over there. She ran to call the police, but when she returned shortly before we arrived, the body was gone. No blood, no finger prints, we don't even have a clue who died here."

"And what's with the burn mark?"

"That's another thing. The witness claims to have seen the killer release lightning from his fingertips and into the victim. Can you believe that?"

Gary Stocker looked at the witness, who met his gaze. Then he turned back to the chief. "I believe her."

"But how can someone cast lightning from their fingers? That's impossible!"

"Impossible or not, she believes it. And there is, indeed, a burn mark on the wall. This certainly is very strange."

"There's another thing, detective..."

"Oh, joy." Gary said sarcastically. "What else do I need to know?"

"The witnesses described the victim and the murderer for us. She claimed that the two had wings, like angels."

Gary turned and left the scene, and the chief called after him. "Where are you going?"

To this, Gary replied, "No body, no murder."

Heaven:

Alan didn't even blink as a man who was looking old turned up in front of him, He just appeared out of thin air, The man had wings although they looked fragile and weak just like the rest of him. The man looked up at Alan a questioning look on his face.

Alan bent down and helped the man up, When the man was up he let out a sigh "I have a message for you".

The man looked up at him a look of confusion on his face "Who from?" he asked. To this Alan made the cross on his chest. "Ahh" the man breathed a worried look on his face, After slightly composing himself again he looked back up at Alan "Well, What is the message?".

Alan sighed again "He warns you that you have hardly got another injury in you let alone a death" he said simply. The man sighed and shook his head. Alan continued "He also um... Asks you to stay here for at least another two lifetimes".

The man sighed "Yess melord".
Alan laughed "I not ya lord, He is" He said while once again making the cross on his chest. With that Alan disappeared.

Earth:

Alan stepped out of an alleyway and into the street, He was in his human form and was not liking it. He walked over to a house near were he had appeared, The house hardly looked lived in but still half cared for. That and the dark feeling he got from the house told him all he needed to know, He knocked on the door and then stood to the side "Rotem!".

The scent of freshly turned over soil intermingled with the sound of the hoe being thrust into it. The man or so he seemed was planting tender young plants that would grow to feed the people of the village. This village despite the modern way of life maintained an idyllic and timeless way of doing such a simple act as planting this year's crops of vegetables. Sure people had cellphones, laptops, and satellite t.v but the timeless act of growing food was done in the same fashion as their forefathers had done it. The only concessions to the soulless modern society way of doing things was chemical fertilizer as the tourists from the various cities complained of the smell of manure. And while the mayor publicly laughed at the delicate noses of city folk the word went about quietly. With the mayor's office subsidizing the cost of chemical fertilizer it was not really a big deal for the farmers. And furthermore the money the delicate and useless city folk brought with them meant a lot for the local economy and so it was with little hesitation the farmers made the switch.

But for this man who seemingly was human it didn't matter. All he cared about was the simple yet pleasurable life this timeless village lived with. And so he went on planting as the sun rose higher in the azure sky beating down a gentle warmth on this village and the farms that surrounded it. Sweat pooling on his back the man discarded the blue t-shirt he wore and let the sun bask his bare upper body.

" Hey mister, I got your lunch." A young girl's voice rang over the freshly worked fields causing the man to look up from the beans he was planting. Running across the field being careful to keep her steps light so as not to disturb the soil overmuch was the source of the voice. A lightly freckled face hidden underneath a large sun hat while a light red dress covered her body. She was the 6 year old daughter of the farmer the man with the hoe worked for. Slung on her arm was a small basket no doubt containing this lunch she spoke of.

Coming to stop beside the man she beamed up at him with a smile that could have lit the darkest room.

" Thanks Debra, I was kinda getting hungry." The man spoke laying down his hoe and beginning to walk to the nearby edge of the field. He like the girl kept his steps light as possible. His voice held a beautiful and calm tone, as if he spoke with the voice of an angel. So charming where it's tones the local priest had roped the man into singing in the choir where he showed some discomfort in being the center of attention.

" That's what Ma thought Steve. She said a man who works as hard as you do must be hungry by now." Her voice too held a beautiful and calm tone with none of the cynicism of an adult. As they walked together to the edge of the field she looked up at the man now known as Steve. What she saw would have disturbed most knowing adults. Where the world saw a six foot tall light tanned man wearing jeans and work boots she saw a seven foot tall angel with six wings covered in the shadows his fall had wrought upon him. But so young was she that Debra took it for granted that 'Steve' was just another of the five workers her father had hired.

However the name Steve was a lie created by the fallen angel so that he might live in peace amongst the humans he had refused to bow to when commanded to by his God. Although the endless centuries he had lived amongst humanity had shown him why God had considered Adam and his legacy greater then the angels he had created. They where prefect in every way, their faith truer then any angels for it was wrought out of free will and not instilled into their very soul. And that free will was hard for most Angels, even this fallen one had to struggle to rebel against the command to bow so hard it was like fighting his very core.

His name was Aeneas Lumen and all who knew that name would laugh with irony at the sight of his black wings although white feathers intermingled with the black ones might make them pause. But none of that mattered to him. He was a fallen angel who refused to become the demon his brethren had. And so he dwelt in the land of Adam's legacy as a Guardian of the Sons and daughters of that legacy. He defended humanity's interest in the war of Angels and Demons for he felt such a race as humanity was above Lucifer and Jehovah. For a man's fate was up to that man to determine and control and no one else. if he should so choose the philosophies of Lucifer or Jehovah so be it but faith and destiny must be chosen out of their own free will.

And thus he lived amongst humanity in secret for the black feathers of his six wings terrified most people. With the rare exception of Debra who could see past the image he crafted to hide his true form. But she was unknowing of what those black feathers meant, perhaps in a few years time Aeneas would have to leave this idyllic and timeless village for he did not want Debra to ever come to fear him.

Even as they walked the fallen angel thought of leaving. For it would be best perhaps to leave when Debra was still young and thus when she grew older could be convinced the image of Steve she saw was nothing but a childhood fantasy.

Coriander groaned loudly, moving her hand on top of a book, laying next to her head, on the table she was currently resting her head on. She opened it and flicked through a few of the pages, unable to see what was on them, but that mattered little as she had already decided she wouldn't read it. She was bored to tears, yet she couldn't decide on what she would do. She could sleep, but then her mother would yell at her for being a useless lazy ass. She could do homework, but that hadn't caught her interest in the slightest. She could watch some tv, play a game, or draw little stickmen on fire. Endless possibilities.

She sighed as she pushed herself up from the table. She looked over at the window, and as she remembered, the blinds were shut, letting little light inside. She didn't have much sense of what time it was, she wasn't even sure if it was night or day, she had just let time pass, not moving outside the room. She didn't feel tired, so the idea of taking a nap was quickly eliminated. She wasn't in the mood for mindless entertainment, so no tv either. Finally she glanced at the papers in front of her, and smiled at the many doodles and lines, making up a myriad of little stickmen being killed in various ways. Yes, life sure was grand on a day, or night, as this one.

She chuckled to herself as she got up on her feet, quickly realising that her one leg was asleep. She hated the needles and pins feeling she got when that happened, and although she tried, it wasn't easy to ignore, so she ended up just standing there until it was over. Then suddenly, something hammered against her door, and she turned her head, expecting something to smash through it. Instead, she heard her mother's voice from outside, and at once, her last little bit of a good mood had vanished.

"Cor, you get your ass out! I've got a client coming by in ten minutes, and I don't want you around!" Her voice was raspy and shrilly at once, ,the kind of voice you could only hear when talking with a person who had been chain smoking for the last thirty years of his or hers life. For some reason, that particular voice was the one thing Coriander hated above all else. "Right." She just yelled back, moving to the other side of her relatively small room, to grab a dark green backpack, she knew her keys and wallet were in.

She hurried over to the door, and opened it, knowing that her mother was right outside, like she always were when she kicked her daughter out of her own room. Coriander held her head low, not wanting to look at her mother, and not wanting her mother to look at her. She walked by her as fast as the limited space in the room would allow her, and then over to the door, where she stepped into her worn out sneakers, and then almost ran outside. She hated the stench of her home, and stepping out into the fresh air of the outside, was in an odd way strangely liberating. She looked around, seeing no one in the streets, and without knowing why, she smiled, and then moved down the few steps, and onto the sidewalk. Humming a tune she couldn't remember, she just allowed her feet to lead her where ever she would end up.

Kygomie Stared at the sky, sitting on top of an old apartment building. She could sense something nearby, but didn't have the drive to go and check it out. She had been four days without sleep, and she was tired. Being the offspring of a demon and being a demon hunter was not an easy life.

When Rotem had finished with the angel in the convenience store, he immediately moved on to claim his prize. She was a eighteen-year-old girl Rotem found in a local church. After the demon started making his moves on her, the girl's guardian angel grew alarmed and warned Rotem to stay away from her. Despite this, Rotem continued to see her, quickly, but smoothly, working his plans on her. Finally, the angel decided to challenge the young demon to a duel.

Now with no one in his way, Rotem invited her over to his house for dinner. Here he planned to make his attempt at crushing the little faith this girl had. He knew he had to finish his work on her quickly, or else he'd be swarmed by angels looking for revenge. She only went to church because of her parents, so he figured it wouldn't take much. After all, she was blind enough to be dating a demon.

Rotem ran his hands through her hair, said all the right things, and pretended to believe that he loved her, but for some reason she didn't respond to any of this. Maybe a part of her knew what this demon called "Roger" was really up to, because everything he did caused her to become more distant and cautious. Eventually, having enough, she got up to leave. Rotem grabbed her by the arm, his hands burning into her skin.

"Roger," she whined, "you're hurting me."

That was when a knocked came on the door. Rotem pushed the girl on his bed.

"Stay," he told her.

Slowly, Rotem turned the doorknob, hoping his fears of an angelic ambush not to come true.

(( Ohhh, That didn't leave me with much to post ))

As the door opened Alan grinned and pushed his way inside. He had tricked demons before in to thinking he was one of them, Because well this form didn't look very angelic.

He walked through the house until he came to the room with the girl in it, Sitting down on the chair he plastered one of those bad boy grins on his face and the wait began. What was he waiting for? He was waiting for the demon to do something that was evil, Unlike hell Heaven had laws and one was never harm an innocent even a demon innocent. It was why hell was below heaven, And it was why Alan was trying to act like another demon so this guy would incriminate himself or attack Alan, And of corse attacking an angel will incriminate you pretty bad.

Kygomie's eyes locked due north. One demon, one angel. A fight? She was curios. So, she hoisted herself up, and ran. One perk about being the offspring of a demon or an angel, you get some pretty neat abilities. Kygomie could sense other spirit-dwellers, and run. Like, really fast. She'd never clocked herself, but she could match a regular freight train. Within a matter of seconds, she was outside of the house.

One demon, one angel...and a human...hmm...interesting. Se thought to herself as she sat back, watching. If there was a fight to be had, she wanted to watch.

Rotem was a bit confused when this man walked in uninvited and sat on his chair. Something didn't seem right. He was expecting some retribution for the sin he had committed, and he still was expecting it. By now he was about ready to surrender his cause and try something else. He stepped outside for a moment, considering whether to run or not.

But then he realized something. Someone was watching him. Someone with dark intent. A demon perhaps? Or maybe an angry angel. Whatever the case, he wasn't alone.

He walked back inside. Assuming his mysterious observer and his uninvited guests were on the same side, he figured these two were looking to scratch him out.

He whispered in Alan's ear, "I know why you're here. Meet me outside, where the human won't see. Let's take this to the skies."

The demon walked out the door and waited for the angel to follow, his fists burning with blue fire.

" Hey Steve guess what I did today at school." Debra spoke with the enthusiasm only the very young were capable of. That smile as bright as ever as the Fallen Angel went through the motions of eating the food prepared from him by the girl's mother.Although it was well made and any normal human would have found it a meal to rival all meals the one time caretaker of God's throne was wishing he didn't have to eat it. As a being of divine creation Aeneas required nothing of actual substance. That is to say any food he ate was merely a show to help him blend in with the humans he had come to cherish.

" What." Aeneas or rather Steve as the girl knew him asked with the patience imbued into him by the countless centuries since his creation in the timeless paradise of heaven. He took another bite of the lunch packed into the small basket, the wind began to blow at first a gentle breeze that was at first welcome for the workers in the fields of this idyllic and timeless village.

" This." She said after a moment of searching her person then holding up a paper crane crafted of red paper, something of a cross between rice paper and wold pulp paper. it was masterfully made given it's creator was a six year old girl. After letting him stare at it for a few seconds the girl tossed the paper crane into the air were the gentle breeze bore it aloft and out of sight.

" Wonderfully made Debra, I bet the teacher was impressed." Aeneas spoke getting up from where they sat at the edge of the field brushing the loose dust off the jeans he wore. That being done he began to pack up the remnants of the lunch beng careful not to sweep dust or dirt into the basket. The breeze began to blow harder almost as if a storm was on it's way, which was odd given the sky was still azure with not a cloud in sight. And soon dust began to kick up. Every second the wind blew harsher and harsher, the dust clouds thickening to the point were humans had no hope of getting enough breath to fill their lungs.

" Debra run." Aeneas ordered the coughing six year old as the implications of what that wind meant. Not here, not here. Was all he thought as he discarded the false image of Steve and stood forth as Aeneas fallen angel. The girl for her part tried to run but the air simply was too choked with dust for her lungs to get the much needed extra air running demanded. Realizing this the fallen angel scooped her up in his arms and flew straight up using the powerful lift six wings beating at once gave him to outrun the killer dust cloud.

" Debra are you alright." He asked concerned as her breathing seemed to become shallow and rapid, the breathing of one not getting enough air.

" Make it stop Steve." She finallly spoke her voice filled with the terror only a child was capable of. Her arm was pointing downwards and so the fallen angel looked down....and saw a sight that filled him with rage. Scores of lesser demons, those twisted creations born of the darkness his fallen brethren embraced were wrecking havoc and bloodshed upon this once idyllic and timeless turning it into a one sided battleground. The people tired to run but were only cut down as they ran. The priest was the only one that stood his ground, on the steps of his church he seemed to be speaking some sort of prayer a silver cross before him. But even faith is a poor shield against a demonic blade and so the priest met his end still clutching his silver cross.

And here he was truly torn, he could slaughter these lesser demons like wheat before the harvester's scythe but doing so would leave Debra defenseless for he could not fight and protect her at the same time. For a battle against so many would require his full attention. Trembling with rage he clutched the shaking Debra tighter to his chest and turned his back on the village. Feeling as if a part of him was dying he raced through the skies faster then the a Jet going mach six using two of his wings to shield the girl he held from the wind that cut like a honed blade.

After what seemed hours he alighted atop a skyscraper, for the city was resonating with the aura of so many Demons and Angels, Aeneas was forced to take stock of it. Perhaps here he could find a safe place for this city was both the lion's den and a safe haven. While not concerned for himself the fallen angel knew Debra needed a safe place. For the village of her childhood was now a blood soaked nightmare were no doubt the unburied bodies of the dead were being used in all manner of ways, the twisted nature of the lesser demons surpassed even the lofty bar his fallen brethren had set. They may be fallen angels but they were angels still, were as their creations were born of pure darkness.

" Where are we." Debra asked somewhat groggily, no doubt the shock of what had just happened was becoming too much for her to handle.

" In a city, I don't know which one but we are safe for now." Aeneas replied, no doubt any human observer would find the scene odd. A six year girl atop a skyscraper taking to the thin air. For Aeneas had yet to assume his human form and as a Fallen angel he was invisible to normal humans.

" Alright." Was all she said in response.

Aeneas looked at her with equal parts sorrow and anger in her heart. In such a short period of time the girl went from a bright light to a snuffed out candle. Aeneas wanted nothing more then to kill every single demon he could get his hands on. But such things were for a later time. First came Debra and finding her a safe place. And as much as he hated the notion Aeneas knew he would have to find an Angel, a true Angel. For it would take the power of God to keep the child safe. And Aeneas knew as long as she remained conntected to him his fallen brethren and their twisted creations would hunt the girl.

Alan smirk became real as he watched at how confused the man looked. He stood when Rotem finally figured it out and followed him out the back door.

As he followed him out of the building he drew the cross on his chest and prayed for everything to work out. When they exited the building Alan stood looking Rotem in the eyes and ignoring the fire in his had, A flash of white revealed a halo over his head as he licked his lips "Rotem" He boomed in a powerful voice "You have been charged with killing an angel, The turning of a human away from christianity and various other crimes".

Alan flinched as a he noticed a new demonic presence, This presence was not as strong as the demon in front of him but still it made him change his mind on at least one thing.

Another flash of blinding white light and Alan was now in his true form, His clothes were replaced by medieval looking armour in his colour scheme. He drew the two swords which sat at his hips and pointed the blades at the demon "You a sentenced to a single death for your crimes".

Kygomie smiled to herself. Both demon and angel had noticed her presence. Not that she was trying to hide it, but still. She figured she'd beter brace herself, because the winner of this fight would probably turn on her. If it was the angel, she'd have some talking to do. The demon...well, she definately wouldn't be talking.

She walked for a long time, enjoying the cold air on her skin. Her clothes were far too thin to keep her warm, and so she had just accepted the cold a while ago. There were still shallow puddles of water from when it had rained earlier that day, or so she assumed it had, and with a crooked smile on her face, she stepped in almost each and every one she passed on her way. She still didn't know where she was heading, but as long as it was anywhere but home, she would be content with it. Maybe she could try and head over to one of her friends places, and hang out there for the rest of the evening? She shook her head at the idea, before glancing around at her surroundings, the ones she knew so well. Her, with her dark blue tshirt, a thin summerjacket which was a dull washed out greyish type of colour, and the jeans that she'd had for years, and somehow still could fit was indeed a look that all together just seemed to scream "teen angst!" in the face of everybody that passed her by, and it was fitting in well with these surroundings. The apartment buildings that mostly housed the poorer families, the ones who were made up of either a pair of parents without jobs, and with a flock of children to feed, or the ones where there was only a single parent, and then the kids.

Coriander was one of the lucky ones. They were only two, so it wasn't that hard. she could always comfort herself in knowing that there were people just across the street that had a harder time than her. Just across the street... Suddenly, she felt a strange thing on the back of her neck. It felt like a spider was about to crawl from her hair and down into the back of her shirt. At once, she smacked herself where she had felt it, and found that there had been no spider. She turned her head a little, and glanced upwards, far up at the sky, thinking that perhaps it had been a drop of rain. Then she saw something odd, a figure standing atop one of the buildings, the tall ones. That however, wasn't what made her stare. Beside the figure, there was another, but this one different. She recognized what it was, for she had seen it's kind before, and at once her smile faded to nothing, and then she stared back at her feet, placed in the middle of a puddle of water.

Then, slowly, she began walking again, still no destination in mind, other than anywhere but home, and anywhere but here.

Somehow, even after centuries of experience, Traes still couldn't quite feel right in his heart when living in a city. In a way, he needed it; the action, the people, lively pulse and near anonymity. A strange mix of loneliness and belonging kept him wandering the dank and distant streets; he would leave if he could, he'd always thought, though somewhere deep down a sense of purpose, a connection forged from years of service in the shadows drew him back like a siren's song. As much as he couldn't stand the noise, the crime, the crowded, stuffy feeling of evil always waiting around the every corner; protecting people, living by the heartbeat of the traffic, roaming the labyrinth as its silent sentinel was who he was, and all that he was. As much as he didn't like the city, it was all he had. So, so long as humans were humans, demons were demons and Traes was more or less an angel of God, he had a job to do, for eternity if need be.
Here, in the bosom of another nameless city, forever bittersweet, Traes made his rounds.

Earth

Earth by RolePlayGateway

The world of the living, where mankind lives more-or-less unaware of the angels living among them.

Heaven

Heaven by RolePlayGateway

A peaceful place of rest for both God's people and his angels. It flourishes with animal and plant life, of which some species, in fact, can only be found in heaven. Government here is considered unnecessary, and all answer only to God. There is, however, a loose ranking system of angels, and those of higher ranking are naturally more respected as leaders.

Hell

Hell by RolePlayGateway

A world created for the angelic outcasts.

Paradise

Paradise by RolePlayGateway

Angels who have lost all energy to continue living move on to a country called Paradise, where they are allowed to sleep peacefully until the end of time. The sleeping angels who dwell here typically take on a form similar to mist, as opposed to their human-shaped physical forms. However, on rare occasion, an angel may be temporarily awakened. They may also take on semi-physical form when they're dreaming.

Don't worry about it. I didn't really have any plans. Whatever hasn't been posted is pretty much free game.

Um sorry about the house thing at the end. You didn't say were he went after he killed the angel so I just made up a place.

Re: [OOC] Greater Than Demons

Okay, I've made the opening post. Now let's get started.

Re: [OOC] Greater Than Demons

We now have two new characters, both of them humans. That brings our count to...

5 total characters
4 players
1 angel
2 demons (including an anti-demon)
2 humans

This is good enough to start with, but I will wait a few more hours (maybe one more day) to begin.

Re: [OOC] Greater Than Demons

Okay I see what you mean lol, Ill change that later I was just messing around with that to see what you had ment by ranking system.

Re: [OOC] Greater Than Demons

I've approved both characters. The only problem I have with one of them is very minor.

Pericoloso's profile says that Alan was in a position of second in command. In this RPG, the ranking system is a little less rigid. Some angels are of higher rank than others, but to call one second-in-command implies a bit of favoritism on God's part.

Like I said, though, this is very minor. I understand it as Pericoloso was simply of high rank.

Now we need some human characters. I'll probably make one later.

Re: [OOC] Greater Than Demons

Okay done added the character. Hope you like it, If you have any questions or want me to change anything just ask me.

Re: [OOC] Greater Than Demons

I will soon make that character.. And yeah I know about Abbadon or Satan or what ever name you want to give him. I go to a christian school so I know most of that bible stuff. I believe somewhere in the bible it leads on that Satan and his followers were 'mutated' by Satan's pure evil and the rests near pure evil.

Re: [OOC] Greater Than Demons

^^^What he said.

Let me just say, though, that this RPG does not represent what I think real angels and demons are like. For example, in the Bible Jesus implied that angels did not come in male and female like we do. I took the creative license to change a few things.

I'm happy to see that two players are already showing interest in this RPG. Looking forward to reading some character profiles. Speaking of which, I still need to make mine. I tend to prefer playing the bad guy, so I'll most likely make a demon, but I may make a good angel or a human character too.

Derek Smith wrote:I have always had a soft spot for angel and demonic rps but I have a couple of questions I would like answered first. First of all when you mean the Angels and Demons can take on human form am I to assume they have a primary form aka a true form that they assume when amongst their own. And secondly would it be possible to create a Sparda type demon ( Sparda from Devil the May Cry series). You know sort of the classic anti-demon type demon if you know what I mean.

1. Yes, but an angel's "true form" is not dramatically different from their human form. A demon in his or her true form, for example, may have black wings, long fingers with sharp black nails, and red eyes. I'm not a big fan of the animal-shaped demons in mythology. But really, an angel or demon are always in true form, but they may create an illusion to hide their wings, halos and such from humans.

EDIT: Oh, and demons can have horns too. I'm okay with horns.

2. You mean like a demon who hunts after his own kind. Well, it's possible I suppose, but unlikely. Demons are limited to actions in two worlds, Earth and Hell. If a traitorous demon ever dies and return to Hell to recuperate, they wouldn't exactly be welcomed home. So this would put that demon in an bad position. But this demon could try to make his permanent home on earth and try hard not to die. I can imagine what with the kind of chaotic society that Hell is, there would be a few "trouble makers."

If you want to make an anti-demon character, you have my permission.

Re: [OOC] Greater Than Demons

Depending on which religion you subscribe to all demons are fallen angels. After all Lucifer ( at least according to most branches of Christianity and Jewish faiths) who is arguably the original demon is a fallen angel himself. And if we are to take into consideration the fact a third of the hosts of heaven fell with him it is thus that all the original demons are themselves fallen angels as well. However there is talk so called lesser demos where created by the original demons and thus are not fallen angels. Even hell itself according to most Judo-Christan beliefs was created as a separate realm/prison for Lucifer and his fallen angels i.e The original demons.

Re: [OOC] Greater Than Demons

Can I just point out to you that instead of true demons they are just fallen angels as demons.

Re: [OOC] Greater Than Demons

Ill try and make a angel character some time soon. Don't hold me to it I am busy at the moment so I might have to withdraw that.
