Likes:
Grail, quiet places, being hidden, the sounds of the forest, moonlit nights, sturdy trees with strong branches, the fashion of her people, rain, sunshine, berries, venison

Dislikes:
Violence, being backed into a corner, liars, cold weather, anything that would take Grail from her, enemies of the forest

Personality:
Sabarya is a very private elf, but considering she is lythari, it should be expected. She is kind and respectful though, when in the presence of others. Grail is her only true companion, as it should be, considering he is her Soul Dragon. He is the only one who has truly been able to provoke the playful side of her, and it stems from their playful bickering and insults. Many who have been in her presence could say that she has not a mean bone in her body, the temper and rage of a tame puppy, much less a wolf. Even on the hunt she is as graceful and docile as the creatures she hunts. Most claim no ferocity resides within her, but most have never backed her into a corner, if invisibility is not an option, she lashes out, becoming as fearsome as Grail in battle, but only then, only when there is no other options.

History:
Sabarya was born into a small lythari pack who wished to keep it that way. There is a tradition among her people to raise the children up in the ways of the Lythari, and upon the gift of the Spirit dragon, they are sent away from the home pack. Most lythari young create a small pack of their own among their peers, while others, like Sabarya, go off on their own. The lythari are always free to visit their home pack, and often do, as well as the other packs due to familial ties, but they never stay long, needing a quiet place to recuperate after being around so many others. Sabarya had found Navanna and decided to make it her home.

Lythari??

Image

The reclusive lythari, known among the wood elves as silver shadows, are true lycanthropes: good-aligned elves capable of changing into lupine form. The details are for wolf form (no hybrid form).
In wolf form, lythari are beautiful, with pale gray or silver fur and intelligent, blue or brown eyes. Wolf form lythari leave no impression of danger or ferocity, but rather seem friendly and companionable. An adult is the size of a small pony and might carry a man-sized ally if the need is great.
In the rare times the assume elf form, the lythari are beautiful and otherworldly, even for elves. They dress in furs, hides, and other natural garb decorating themselves with feathers, bone jewelry, and similar objects in a fashion more ancient than the oldest wood elf tribes. Tall and pale skinned, they have light blue or green eyes and silver hair.

So begins...

In the distance a solitary elven female had perched herself in a tree, watching the sun filter through the leaves on the trees, one of her favorite colors. It had always brought to mind the times where she and Grail soared in the sunshine, they way his scales shone and they reveled in their freedom, in the company of each other, and lived as one. Times like this, though, they each enjoyed their solidarity, and that was fine as well.

Lingering in the moments, she let time pass unrivaled, her mind at ease for the moment, but then, the moment was gone, the sun had moved farther in its climb and the fluttering shades of sunshine stilled, her time here was done. Silently she fell from the tree and landed among the grass, but her shape had changed from girl to wolf in seconds, for it was now time for the hunt, as she was starved. Sabarya spent this time alone for Grail's sake. She respected his vegetarian natures as much as he respected her omnivorous one. While he delighted in the berries, leaves, and bark, she took advantage of the bounty nature could offer her, taking in both the berry and the beast, and today, that beast would be a deer.

Moving as silent as the breeze, Sabarya lowered her muzzle and took in the scents around her, her mind closed off to the world around her as the scents engulfed her mind. Each one signifying a specific being of the forest enveloped in the rich earthen smell that belonged solely to Navanna. Squirrels and rabbits filled her mind, followed by a few birds on the hunt for the best worms, a fox, a bear, and some raccoon, and there......there it was.....the musky scent of her breakfast. Lifting her muzzle, Sabarya rose her silvery head and padded in the direction of her breakfast.

Thankfully it was not far from her, and in what seemed like moments she had spotted it. A buck entering into his fourth rut. He was a handsome stag who stood with pride and purpose, probably sired a good number of the newborns who now frolicked among the trees. Generations to refine his blood and carry on his strength and pride, and Sabarya's blood sung at the site of him. The adrenaline that came with the hunt had her eager and ready, her paws remained ghostly silent as she crept closer, stalking until she had found her advantage. She had watched the buck as he grazed, blissfully unaware of her presence, or to proud to care. She quickly learned his patterns and motions, and when the moment was right, she lunged and took the creature by the throat, severing both the jugular as well as his wind pipe with her bottom jaw as her upper canines wrapped around his neck bone. Twisting her head as her jaws came together, the buck's life was ended.

Stepping from the neck, she tore into the buck's stomach, and that was when she heard it.

Grail's roar in the distance.

He was far, on the other side of the forest......and she was off. Her lupine form rocketing toward the other half of her soul, and she prayed she would make it in time.

It was taking too long!! Too long too long too long! Sabarya began taking in the scents around her, looking for Grail's to help her find him, and within moments she had found it, and for a moment, she was elated. Then the coppery scent had hit her. Grail was bleeding, as well as a few others, but she didn't care....Grail was hurt and she was furious. A growl rumbled through her chest as her feet flew across the forest floor.

In a moment, she was there, teeth bared, ears pressed back, for one of the few times in her life, she resembled a natural wolf, except three times the size. Her snarls ripped through the air as growls shook her chest, her tail stood valiantly as her hackles rose, daring whatever it was that made her Grail bleed to step to her, but as she looked around, she saw dragons.....and other elves......and a.....what she saw did not fully register with her, but whatever it had been, it lay motionless on the earth. Without lowering her defenses she padded to Grail, who was no doubt looking at her in a whole new light. This was a side she never showed, but she had never been so angry as when she could smell Grail's blood, she had never felt so panicked as not knowing what had happened to him.

Giving Grail a proper once over and verifying that he was, indeed, alright, Sabarya relaxed, but only slightly. Moving away from the other elves and dragons, she sat next to him and pressed her silvery head to her dragon's neck and let out a sigh of relief. Though she spoke quietly, she knew the others could hear her. A delicate, feminine voice came from this giant wolf creature, and it silenced any rumbling growls that may have remained in her chest. "Thank Selune your ok" Sebarya slowly panted as she rested against Grail, not caring how the others may have or continue to react to her appearance.

Zythil bared her teeth, exposing each and every one of her massive fangs. A wolf was threatening her Lexallin and Zythil was not happy about it. But she noticed that the wolf turned to Grail, and then spoke. A talking wolf?! Zythil wondered. "What matter of creature are you?!" Zythil growled, moving closer to Lexallin, her furry scales and feathery wings ruffling in anger. She sensed that something was off about the creature, and it bothered her immeasurably that she couldn't figure out what it was. She kept both feet on either side of Lexallin, standing over her for protection from the beast. "Are you some kind of demon??" Zythil demanded, the nostrils flaring, teeth still bared. "Why can you speak, wolf?!" Zythil was angry because she was confused. She did not like being confused, so she tended to turn to a state of acrimony.

She decided to put herself between Lexallin and the demon-wolf, guarding her Spirit Partner. She did not put her head down; instead, she kept her eyes upon the demon-wolf, her dentition never ceasing to show. She refused to relax her body, as she felt put off by the strange, demon-wolf creature.

Ah'Sah stared at the elf girl, debating her offer of staying at her house. She mentioned the deer. "The deer aren't important.... I'm sure that some beast will be grateful we did their work for them. I will, however, go back and take one with us. We can enjoy some deer after everything that's happened. My village can manage on their own," he said, looking at Silbahkest. "I'll be back in a moment." And with that, he was off, rushing through the forest lightly, his feet navigating the ground with precision. When he arrived at the clearing, he took the deer out of the tree, slinging one of them onto his shoulders. It was heavy, but nothing he couldn't manage.

With the heft of the deer weighing him down, he was forced to walk back to the others. He took a deep breath, closing his eyes as he inhaled the sweet scents of the forest. He could smell everything, including the dead deer on his back, but his senses could push past that overbearing scent and pick up the smells of the trees and other plants, the smell of the earth as it was disturbed by his steps. When he finally got back to the others, he gently laid the deer down on a rock nearby them. "How is he?"

Just then, a large, silver wolf came bounding in, growling and angry. Ah'Sah's defenses rose, as he readied himself for the wolf to attack them. Instead it began to sniff at the green dragon. "Hey! Back off of him!" he yelled, attempting to shoo the large beast away. Instead, it laid its head upon the green dragon's neck and spoke. Then, the bird-like dragon stepped in, angry that she did not know what the creature was. He was slightly angered too, as he was also confused, but he did not think that the creature could be a demon, as it seemed genuine enough with the green dragon.

Lexallin

She blushed as the elf had accepted her offer of the night, and felt the dragon's blood on her hand again, to see where the pressure was.
When Ah'Sah returned with the deer, she was hopeful of her dragon-friend's health. However, her hopefulness was soon altered when the beast jumped into the clearing toward Grail, as Zythil had called him. Before Lexallin had time to stand up, Zythil was on top of her ready for the defense.

She peered through the dragon's legs and observed. "It is fine Zythil, it had human blood. None of a demon." She scooted out from under Zythil and over toward the beast. She knelt beside it carefully, and took ease as she reached for her knife gently, as to not spook the animal. "I can help him with the pain, but cannot fix broken wings. To help with pain, I need his blood." She took the knife and slid it down the center of her hand, not showing any pain. She didn't want the wolf to see her as hurting her friend, rather than helping.

"I can move the blood, so it goes numb. It will feel better. Ah'Sah," She motioned for him to step forward. "can relocate the broken bone, so we can set it with wood. I can keep it without pain, if you let me." She slowly cut a small incision on the beast, and drew it's blood from the blade. "Breathe, you are tired." She said to the wolf, it's heart beating fast. "Attacking me will only hurt your friend." She closed her eyes, and started to move the blood in Grail's body away from his broken wing.

As soon as she knew the area had no circulation, she called to Ah'Sah, "Now!"

"I think this is a trick of magic. It has the elven's scent and I sense its intelligence. However, do what you please with it. I may be wrong," Silbahkest whispered into Ah'Sah's ear. Lexallin had been talking about Grail's wing, but Ah'Sah was more focused on the giant silver wolf. "Now!" Lexallin called, and Ah'Sah snapped from his trance-like state. He remembered her saying something about setting the dragon's wing, as it was broken. She doesn't expect me to set the wing does she?! Ah'Sah thought to himself. "I don't know how to set a dragon's wing. I'd rather not, as well, as I'd rather not accidentally cause the poor thing to never be able to fly again by setting the wing wrong. It'd be better if you had someone else help you." Ah'Sah felt sorry for Grail, and his wing, but he didn't want to cause further damage due to his lack of knowledge on dragon wings.

"What about you?" He directed the question toward the wolf. "Wait.... That's stupid.... You have paws, not hands." Ah'Sah was practically slapping himself in the face over his stupidity. He sat down beside Lexallin, wishing he could be of more help.

OOC: How I imagine Zythil's voice..lol

Zythil moved slowly toward the wolf, teeth still bared, and sniffed the air around the large, silver beast. It smelled like an elf, and like a wolf. "If you are no demon, wolf, then what are you?" Zythil was showing a side of herself that only Lexallin had seen, and even she had only seen it once. Zythil was usually very peaceful and did not anger easily, but right now, she felt threatened by this thing before her, as it was still foreign to her and she did not know what it was capable of.

A low, deep growl came from deep inside Zythil's chest and rolled through her throat and out from between her fangs like the flood from a hurricane. Icy breath poured out from between her teeth as she growled, though it evaporated into the air before it could reach the ground. She was standing her ground and showing her dominance, something that did not seem as though she was capable of. She was tired of being the "fairy-dragon." She was fierce and strong, just as any other dragon, even though her scales were soft and her wings were like that of a bird's.

Lexallin

Lexallin was surprised as the wolf shifted into a beautiful elf. Although she had heard of the common shapeshifter from stories her mother and father had shared, she thought them to be a simple fairy tale. She introduced herself as Sabarya, and Lexallin resorted back to the matter at hand. Ah'Sah seemed nervous, amazed, or maybe bewildered, but Lexallin blushed as she thought he was cute in the situation.

" I," she laughed at her childishness, "I need you to rotate his wing at this specific point." She motioned to the bent arc of his wing where it was obviously snapped. "By lifting and moving forward, I can maneuver the arteries to direct the broken wing to where it needs to be. I promise it will work if you will help me. I can't do both. Ah'Sah, would you be more comfortable by holding the bottom part of the wing? It would help the movement a lot." Lexallin spoke with grace, having learned to manage alone without help from any other than Zythil.

The contortion of the blood in her hand began to grow heavy. She held it tightly, keeping the blood flow from the wound. If she slipped a little not much issue would result, but she didn't want to cause even the slightest pain to the friendly dragon. Although she was getting tired, she managed on through the imaginary pain of a broken arm.

"Are you guys ready?"

Ah'Sah's jaw dropped as the large silver wolf transformed into a majestically gorgeous elf girl. A Lythari? I thought they were only legends.... Ah'Sah wondered inwardly, still staring at the elf girl, Sabarya she'd said, in amazement. "B-But I thought that the Lythari were only....legend?" His voice depicted his bewilderment vividly. Then Lexallin spoke, explaining how to set the wing. Ah'Sah nodded when she asked if they were ready. He put himself into position, ready to help set the wing.

AH'Sah was nervous, afraid he may only further hurt the dragon, but he looked at Lexallin and instantly felt like he could do it. He nodded once again in affirmation.

Zythil watched in astonishment as the wolf being transformed. An elf girl now stood before them. She called herself a Lythari named Sabarya. Lexallin seemed more focused on Grail's wing, though. Zythil still stared in amazement at the elf-wolf girl, still feeling somewhat skeptical about her, as even the other elves seemed amazed. Ah'Sah spoke. "B-But I thought that the Lythari were only....legend?"

A legend? Zythil pondered. She was still unsure of all that was happening. "I am still doubtful of you elf-wolf. If you so much as harm a hair on my elf's head, I will tear you to shreds." Zythil meant her words, even though she looked like she may be passive by nature.

Silbahkest

Image

Silbahkest narrowed his eyes at the wolf as its form easily melted away into a beautiful elf-woman. His jaws opened slightly in a growl as the sight left him feeling unsettled. He was not fearful, no, yet he didn't like the idea of the woman having a power that could threaten his own bond mate. Silbahkest kept a close eye on the woman as Ah'Sah crouched next to Lexallin to help her patch up the green dragon.

"I am neither demon, nor human, but Lythari, a Silver Shadow, as some of the woodland elves refer. My name is Sabarya, ad I have both paws, and hands." The woman spoke with strength and Sibahkest stood straighter at her words. He respected her confidence but he wouldn't let her outshine his own for sure or think that she would have an easy time fighting him even injured as he was. Silbahkest reluctantly pulled his draconic gaze away from Sabarya and watched the side proceedings silently. He knew was growing tired from the lack of enthusiasm from his temper and although his injuries didn't cause him pain he knew they would later when the elf-girl grew weary of keeping holding of both dragons injuries. Silbahkest picked his way across the clearing to find a spot to rest where he could keep an eye on things but not be in the way. The elves seemed to have everything taken care of.

Silbahkest laid on his stomach and rested his head on his forepaws, closing one eye only and keeping the other on the dragons and elves scattered around. Zythil he had come to see was a little more spitfire than he had expected as she faced down Sabarya still, threatening the elf-woman within an inch of her life. Sibahkest snorted sarcastically at the thought. If the Lythari were indeed real and as powerful as they were in the legends then Zythil might have a decent fight on her hands. He raised his head sizing up Zythil and Sabarya. That would be an interesting fight worth seeing.

Zythil had heard the elf-wolf girl and was honestly more concerned about Grail than her. She laid down beside Lexallin and nestled her head near Grail's. She stared at him, hoping that her Lexallin could fix him with everyone's help. Her eyes showed the sorrow she felt for Grail and hoped that he would heal well and soon. Zythil nuzzled Grail's jaw gently with her furry nose, longing for him to awaken. "What if he doesn't wake....?" Zythil muttered softly, still staring at Grail, her face close to his.

Zythil stared at Grail's green, almost iridescent scales. "I wish I had your scales, Grail. They are amazing and handsome...." Even though Grail wasn't conscious, she hoped that he could still hear her. "Please, Grail.... Be strong.... Fight...." Zythil pleaded with him, her eyes growing more sorrowful, her wings hanging melancholically limp at her sides.

Ah'Sah listened to Zythil's threats, hoping that the wolf girl wouldn't detest the faery dragon for being so blunt and protective. He watched as Silbahkest strode off and laid in wait a ways away from them, one eye closed, the other watching sharply. Ah'Sah smiled at his dragon, hoping that he would heal perfectly fine. Ah'Sah looked to Zythil, who was sorrowfully pleading with Grail, begging him to fight and live. His heart broke slightly at the faery dragon's pleas.

"We will do our best to make Grail better," he said, smiling at Zythil, putting a gentle hand on her furry neck. "Things will be okay, Zythil," he added, rubbing her neck slightly before bringing his hand back to supporting Grail's wing. I hope to Selune Grail will be okay.... he wished inwardly.

Lexallin

Lexallin was startled by the doubt in everyone's voice, she felt sorry for them. She knew that Grail was not in pain, but she could do nothing for the pain of her friends. "Nothing but death is a threat here. And I am not going to let that happen." She said it quickly as she contorted the blood to slide the wing back into place. She felt the bone in her arm slowly slide in and out of place. It hurt with much pain, but she knew losing this dragon would hurt her worse. She breathed deeply as she released the pressure in his wing, and felt her own blood rushing to the self inflicted wound.

"It is in place now." She moved away from the dragon and grabbed two large branches with her free hand, using the long strand of cloth that was usually her belt, she created a tourniquet for the wing. After it was set and swelling on both of them, she started stitching up his lacerations.

Pain was etched on the faces of everyone. "He isn't in pain.." She leaned down to Zythil and pet her gently. She slowly moved her hand on top of Ah'Sah's. She silently thanked him for his calming efforts. She squeezed his hand tightly, her hand shook from the pain she was withstanding for Grail, but hoped he didn't notice. She cared for him, he was the first elf she had ever known other than her parents.
She let go, hoping from her eyes he only saw thanks, and not pleads or adoration.

Lexallin turned to Sabarya. "I have herbs at my hut that can help with pain for later, I am sorry but I can't keep that from him forever. I will do it when it get's bad though. I want to help as much as possible. If you would like, I think we are all going to spend the night out here. Luckily for you all, the world doesn't know we exist, considering I didn't know it did. You will be safe there." She glared at Zythil, hoping she would relax.

Silbahkest

Image

Silbahkest could feel the tangible emotion in the air. It was like a cloak of worry and disbelief. The elves had done their best to help the green dragon whose name was Grail. However, Silbahkest knew in his heart that the rest lay up to the dragon himself if he had the strength to pull through. The silver dragon raised his head and peered into the forest hearing the oddest rustle but upon spotting nothing in the brush, he turned back to the group. His gaze sought out Ah'Sah and he watched him carefully, monitoring the elf's mood hoping that he wasn't stressing himself out. Lexallin seemed to help comfort him though and Silbahkest felt a slight swell of approval but quickly tamped it down and kept his expression neutral. Now was not the time for amusement. He stiffly stood, moving to stand by Ah'Sahs side but paused when the faintest keening sound caught his attention.

It was too soft probably for the elves to have noticed unless they were paying more attention than he would expect of them. He sniffed warily but the soft rustle he had heard earlier wouldn't have been the creature that was causing the sound. It would have been much louder. Silbahkest quickly looked over the skies but still found nothing. He couldn't pull himself to take his eyes off the forest and let out a slow growl as the scent of an unknown elf finally reached his senses. His hackles raised and he growled loudly, alerting the others. A male elf stepped from the brush with his hands raised and Silbahkest bared his fangs, emitting a small hiss in warning.

Tahlis Aerlynquis

Image

Tahlis Aerlynquis moved through the forest quiet as a predator on the hunt. His swords hung at his sides securely and his black leather armor was beautifully crafted, so much so that the fastened belts didn't make a sound, slipping against each other smoothly. His mossy green eyes scanned the landscape searching for something restlessly and his expression was grim. He had left his spirit dragon to play today and had gone off on a mission. His village had been attacked by…monsters. They were creatures of the dead; no normal being. Many people had been slaughtered and after a meeting with the elder in charge they had decided to sent out scouts to search for information. Unfortunately, Tahlis was a decent warrior and an excellent scout because of his powers and he had been first on the team.

Tahlis still clearly remembered the elders words as he paused scanning footprints in the topsoil. 'I fear that these creatures are just the beginning. Tahlis, I want you to find the other villages. Go to them and see if they have been attacked as well. There is an omen hanging in the air beyond the reach of my powers. I may not be able to protect the people if we do not prepare.' A shudder worked its way through Tahlis's shoulders and he tightened his fists and let it pass, taking a deep breath to calm the panic. He was better than some undead monster and he would do what needed to be done in order to keep his people alive; although more importantly, his dragon alive. He had seen the way some of the other spirit dragons had struggled against just one beast. What if there were more? Tahlis pushed the terrifying thought away and continued through the forest following the fresh footprints he had found.

After ten minutes or so, he came upon a clearing of dead deer. Tahlis analyzed the scattered corpses, noticing they were freshly killed. He moved up to one and moved a hand over the injuries and visible signs of a hunt on the buck. It looked like arrows had been used on this one. Tahlis glanced at the buck a few feet away and noticed the slight mutilation. It seemed a dragon had hunted that buck. A thought came to him, "A spirit pair?" He murmured. He stood up from his crouched position and wandered around but stopped upon a even fresher footprint made by a dragon he knew quite well. Seemed Zorazeth had gotten hungry. A slight chuckle escaped him, quietly filling the air around him. He followed his partners tracks around noticing the pressed grass where deer had been and then where the trail suddenly ended. He looked to the air and frowned. He couldn't just call to his dragon lest he alert any other dragons and hunters in the area but he did wish to see her. Such a strange feeling, he mused. Tahlis loved his dragon but felt reserved about having such attachment to the creature. He peered about checking the area for any more signs before deciding that he had seen all he could in this clearing.

Tahlis found the elven footprints again and followed them south. The gait seemed to widen after a while of walking as if the elf had started running suddenly. His brow furrowed and a niggling emotion tugged at his subconscious. He followed it, deciding to take precaution and cloak himself. His eyes could still see his body but any one looking on would only see air, seeing straight through him. An amazing trick on the eyes. He walked for a while but soon hushed voices were speaking in harried tones. He moved closer, silent as a stalking feline, and moved behind a tree closest to the figures on the other side of the new clearing. His eyes first caught on the silver dragon who lay down closest to him on his left. The dragon seemed exhausted and injured but what was most admirable was it's metallic skin. Tahlis admired it before thinking, Zorazeth would still run through that dragon easily. Especially with me fighting with her. A quick job indeed. His arrogant thought was immediately followed with pride and it caused him to grin however it faltered when the silver dragon seemed to look straight at him, before its gaze moved away. Tahlis refrained from letting out a breath of relief and moved back a bit more behind the treelike. He let his gaze travel further over to the furry dragon who seemed ruffled and he deduced that although she was a spitfire little thing, she was no threat as well. Three elves perched near a fallen green dragon who was most like the kind seen in his village and he watched their exchange. It seemed the crouched one was a healer and upon seeing the quiver and bow on the blonde elf's back he deduced that he had been the hunter. However, his eyes lingered on the woman standing near the other two. She was beautiful in a way that commanded attention and although Tahlis knew he was seductive in a lusty silent predator type of way, she was seductive and attractive in the way an eagle perches on the highest branch and screams it's strength and power to the world. It was a power that made men fall to their knees, and Tahlis furrowed his brows as he watched her. Her blue eyes reflected with pained emotion and Tahlis felt slight empathy for her realizing that she must have been the spirit partner to the green dragon. He wondered if it were dying and emotions swelled within him before he could push them down by their ugly heads.

When he finally had himself under control he noticed that the silver dragon had stood and was growling menacingly at him. Crap. I let my shields down.. He thought. Tahlis quickly thought up a plan and moved forward slowly raising his hands. "Easy there. I was just watching." He eyed the silver dragon as it bared its fangs and they were indeed very sharp. His gaze glanced to the other elves and then it was then that he noticed the gory mess past the silver dragon who had been blocking his view. A slight gasp fell from his lips and his eyes narrowed. He pointed with his right hand. "That is what I came for." He cleared his throat and carefully turned so that his back was to the forest and he could also face the other dragon and elves. "I came a decent ways to.." He paused wondering if it okay to tell them about the village and the mission. "See if any other villages were attacked. I am a scout looking for information, that's all. I won't attempt to fight any of you at the moment." Tahlis deliberately didn't mention that his village had also been attacked and that he had some idea of what the monsters were. If they were smart they would make their own assumptions. He slowly lowered his hands to his sides but kept them slightly away from his blades, not that he couldn't grab them if needed now without taking too long. His gaze eyed the silver dragon one more time before falling on the beautiful woman from before. He silently willed her to believe him.

Lexallin

"Thank you.....for all you do for him."

Lexallin felt the sting of these words radiating from Sabarya. Lexallin did all she could to ease the pain of Grail, but had abandoned the pain of this fellow elf. She gently placed her hand on the shoulder of the protective spirit partner and felt Sabarya's blood jump from beneath her skin. That's when she saw the first image. Just a bright flash of a memory that didn't belong to herself. Lexallin quickly yanked her hand from the girls shoulder, startled by the event.

She nodded to Sabarya, unable to use comforting words. She glanced at Ah'Sah, feeling more at peace. It surprised her really. The way that with a simple glance her own blood stopped jumping. She started to blush, and knelt down toward the wounded dragon once again, trying to mask this new found vulnerability.

The next thing she heard was the voices. They were soft yet loud, as if one was listening to a conversation from inside a bubble. The words were rounded enough to hear them clearly, even with the bubbling noise above it. Lexallin put her head down trying to get rid of the awful sensation to little avail. She figured that she was only tired and she- there was hissing. Ah'Sah's dragon stood tall angry with something lexallin hadn't wrapped her mind around yet.

"Crap. I let my shields down.. " Lexallin stood to find the source of the strange voice as an elf walked into sight. He was nervous, his blood was racing as he spoke. "I came a decent ways to.." He paused wondering if it okay to tell them about the village and the mission. "See if any other villages were attacked. I am a scout looking for information, that's all. I won't attempt to fight any of you at the moment."

"Your thoughts are rude." Lexallin said as she made her way around Grail and stood semi-in front of Ah'Sah. "At the moment isn't a very peaceful introduction now is it." She felt her body heat rising as she spoke. "No offense, I don't truly care whether you believe you are stronger, faster, more skilled, whatever. If you bleed you're my elvin Xhan. She stood defensively not even two inches from the new elf's face. She didn't like him and his menacing thoughts. The way he carried himself with such arrogance. That is when she saw him glance at Sabarya. His attraction to her fluttered with his heart beat, making Lexallin feel bad. She calmed down to speak softly, " I am Lexallin, that is Ah'Sah, and Sabarya." She then motioned to the dragons. "Silbahkest is Ah'Sah's spirit partner, Zythil is mine, and Grail is Sabarya's." She smiled at the new elf, trying to welcome him with as little hostility as possible, which she found harder than she thought. She turned to Zythil, laughing at herself for getting so angry as Zythil gets pensive. She abandoned her defensive position around the group, and managed her way toward Zythil, petting her softly when she stopped. "As for the beast, it fought like none other but eventually fell to Silbahkest. Grail was wounded severely but is stable now." She looked to Ah'Sah for acceptance of her spoken word.

Ah'Sah looked at Lexallin as she worked her magic on Grail. Then, a male elf came out of the trees to the side of them, hands raised. He spoke some words, but Ah'Sah wasn't entirely convinced, as he'd mentioned something about not fighting them "at the moment." Ah'Sah stood as Lexallin did, though she stood somewhat in front of him and spat words at the elf. Ah'Sah pushed past her slightly, standing partially in front of her. "I am Lexallin, that is Ah'Sah, and Sabarya." She motioned at the dragons. "Silbahkest is Ah'Sah's spirit partner, Zythil is mine, and Grail is Sabarya's." Ah'Sah looked at her, and she was smiling slightly, which Ah'Sah could tell was hard for her to manage in the presence of this new elf. "As for the beast, it fought like none other but eventually fell to Silbahkest. Grail was wounded severely but is stable now." Lexallin looked at Ah'Sah, possibly searching for some sort of acceptance. He nodded softly.

Ah'Sah stepped up to the new elf. "You said that that thing is what you came for, and you were sent to see if any other villages were attacked?" He paused for a moment, pondering. "That means there's more than just this one. What is their goal?" Ah'Sah's attention had moved from the new elf to his thoughts, and he began pacing, pouring over his own ideas as to what exactly was happening.

Tahlis stared down at the docile-appearing female elf. Although he was surprised to see so much spirit from the female, he didn't show it on his face. Instead he remained silent and unmoving, allowing her to berate him. He felt only mild annoyance and his fingers twitched with the urge to put her in her place. However, he had been raised to cherish women and wouldn't dare lay his hands on her unless attacked first. He didn't get a chance to regret his decision when Ah'Sah brushed past her to take up point position. Tahlis didn't spare the blonde elf a glance however although he had noted his stance. When she finally seemed to lose steam she introduced herself and the others. He carefully marked each other with their respective names and relationships and then dismissed her hostility with a huff as she walked over to the smaller dragon of the trio. He wasn't concerned about being attacked if she were prepared to be so open. Nevertheless, he was still guarded.

"I see." He stated, not naming himself just yet. He didn't feel like he could trust them just yet. "As for the beast, it fought like none other but eventually fell to Silbahkest. Grail was wounded severely but is stable now." She spoke, looking to Ah'Sah for something. Ah'Sah responded with accepting glance and Tahlis raised a brow at the exchange. Was Ah'Sah the leader here? Tahlis eyed him uncomfortably before shrugging off the thought.

Ah'Sah stepped up to the new elf. "You said that that thing is what you came for, and you were sent to see if any other villages were attacked?" He paused for a moment, pondering. "That means there's more than just this one. What is their goal?" Ah'Sah began pacing, seeming to connect all of his ideas. Tahlis didn't move, remaining still as a statue except for the slow movement of his chest from breathing. His eyes followed Ah'Sah before he shifted his attention to Sabarya. She huddled near the fallen green dragon, withdrawn into herself. Tahlis wondered if she would be okay before deigning to answer Ah'Sah. "You don't need me to figure out the first part." He stalled, walking over to the crushed grass and sludgy flesh strewn about. He peered down at what was left of the monster. It was shredded and strangely enough the smell of decay wasn't entirely overwhelming. He didn't dare touch the rotted meat. "As for a goal.." He paused, tilted his head to scrutinize a strange part of the monster. "It could be revenge. Anger. I don't know for sure. Maybe some elf decided taking matters into her own hands was worth the time. Raised the dead, made the owners go after the elves, and from there I suppose the elf would expect distrust and chaos to spread. It wouldn't take much time either. However, that's just an idea. Could be a disease. It's all just speculation at this point. I mean, why would a dragon rise from the dead and attack their spirit bond partners. Rather, any elf at all. " Tahlis finished and stood, stepping away from the debris with a disgusted frown.

Tahlis edged around the grow carefully and reached the fallen green dragon. He briefly analyzed the wounds from a distance before moving closer to the woman, glancing at the other elves in warning. He slowly crouched beside her but didn't touch her. He didn't want to disturb her grieving process. Tahlis just wanted her to know he was here. It was an odd feeling but he felt that it was needed somehow. He waited for a moment, wondering what to say. Finally it came to him. "Be strong." He stood and left her without another thought. Tahlis paused at the edge of the clearing and looked to Ah'Sah, acknowledging his authority with a grimace. "I'll be back in the morning. If you need me, whistle I suppose. My name is Tahlis." He directed the last part mostly to Sabarya with a short glance.

The warrior slipped in the forest, cloaking himself in invisibility. The magic warmed him and he walked far enough not to be heard. "Zorazeth? Where are you?" He called to the sky, irritation tinging his voice as he let his magic fade so that he could be seen by his spirit partner. He had business to settle before he could go to sleep.

Tahlis awoke from his slumber and slowly opened his eyes. The first thing he did was scan his surroundings cautiously. The dim sunlight streaming through the leave cast shadows around him. He looked to the sky and saw that the sun was just rising on the horizon. He stood and stretched with a grunt before stumbling a few steps into the forest quietly. Songbirds swooped and flapped above him, singing praise to the morning sun. He adjusted himself and then started off back to the camp where he had left the group. He briefly wondered if they were still there but figured he would find out soon enough.

As he walked into the clearing, the first thing he noticed was a soft wailing of a sorrowful woman. He picked his way through the sleeping figures and then stood near Sabarya. He didn't invade her personal space as she held her dragons corpse with a tender gentleness. When he felt her magic spark to life he flinched slightly, noticing that it felt familiar yet different. He watched as the shimmering magic laid over her skin like a blanket. A second skin even. Tahlis raised both his brow in surprise before moving closer and pulling his own magic over his body. He crouched beside the woman and a slight smile tugged at the corner of his lips. He kept his voice pitched low so that only she would hear him. "Impressive. I haven't met someone who had the same ability as me." He paused, noticing her tears now that he was closer. Tahlis felt impossibly ill. He couldn't quite come to terms with the empathy he felt for her and he wanted to comfort her but his own values and morals cursed him for it. Finally Tahlis reached for her hand and squeezed it gently. "It's not okay. I know. I won't lie to you. But, you need to be strong." He struggled for a moment, feeling disgusted at his actions. "Grail fought hard to live and keep you safe. Respect that and take revenge. Avenge his death so that it not worthless. A woman like you shouldn't be crying." He released her hand and swiped at her tears with a grimace. The digest wound its way around his heart and fought hard with the feeling of care that gripped him tight. Unable to take being so soft-hearted, he stood and backed away. He turned back the way he came and jogged back to the clearing. He had plans to wake up Zorazeth and get started on finding some answers. Yes, that's what I should be doing. He thought with a startling clarity, pushing down all the other rotten feelings.

Lexallin

Image

The first thing she heard was screaming. Lexallin jumped up quickly, taking in the pain of her thigh. She grabbed her knife and prepared herself for a fight. Surprised to see Sabarya huddled over Grail. Lexallin ran to him, cutting him carefully and gathering his blood. It was cold. He was cold. Lexallin couldn't believe it. She stared at Sabarya's wondering eyes, afraid to admit the truth; he was gone. She shook her head to Sabarya in awe, stepping back from the dead dragon.

"I did everything right, this isn't right, he was stable. I didn't do anything wrong! I must have stopped his blood when it washed off in the water, I killed him-" She backed into a tree and collapsed against it, listening to the cries of Sabarya. She silently wept, the responsibility of his death worse than the pain she had felt helping him. The thought of losing Zythil was blood churning. She felt the words sting in her stomach. She thought about losing Zythil. The loss of her best friend would kill her surely. Lexallin stood up and ran to Zythil, crying into her feathery wings. She could feel herself bleeding again but paid no mind. She thought her actions rude, having found comfort in her dragon where Sabarya had none. She made herself sick.
