Cassandra McKlaine

"I will never be alone."

0 · 175 views · located in Mortal Realm

a character in “Guardians: Out of Darkness”, as played by Everscale

Description

Name: Cassandra McKlaine
Age: Immortal (he looks about 17)
Gender: Male

Humanlike Appearance: Image
Cassandra stands at a relatively average height of five feet and nine inches, with a slender build and long limbs that make him appear undeniably feminine. His eyes are a glimmering brown that almost appears gold – or rather, appears considerably more gold than should be possible – and his hair is a pale sort of blonde. His features, delicate and pointed, are even more girlish than his figure – his gender is mistaken more often than not. He wears remarkably human clothes, jeans and a dark t-shirt, because, quirky demon that he is, he finds them comfortable. He prefers to wear a sweeping black coat – he loves how people stare at him when he wears it with a nice pair of shades.

Demonic Appearance: In his normal form, Cassandra resembles something that appears vaguely… hyena-ish. Sort of. Crossed between a cat and a wolf, he has forelegs considerably longer than his hind legs, and his back slopes downwards to make them meet up. His fur is black, spotted with luminescent blues that flicker in the night, and extend into streaks through the crest of fur that runs down his spine. His tail is longer than a natural hyena’s, more feline than canine as it twists around behind him. His eyes are the same gold as they are when he appears human, but with slit-shaped pupils. His great jaws could bite off a man’s arm, and a pair of dagger-like sabres protrude even when his mouth is closed. His tongue is forked, like a serpent’s, and he tracks his victims by scent.

Sin Associated With: Pride (and by extension, Sloth and Lust)

Preferred Host: He prefers inhabiting beautiful people. He does not particularly care what gender, so long as they are pretty. They also have to live in the city – he doesn’t like being a long way away from anything entertaining.

Personality: Cassandra has been called, on many occasions, a ‘demon princess’, and he does not particularly mind the analogy. He is out there for beauty and entertainment, and does not much care about anything else. He is generally remarkably calm, easy-going, even lazy. If he does not want to do something, it does not get done, no matter what it is. He likes to lie about and watch mankind flounder to survive in a world that seems to have been constructed specifically to challenge them around every turn. He spends a great deal of time maintaining his own image, deeply concerned with his own beauty – in human form, with his hair, clothes, and skin, and in demon form, with the sleekness of his fur, the brightness of his glowing flecks, and just how sharp he is keeping his sabres. He tends to latch on to people out of convenience – if they can do something for him that he does not want to do for himself, he will follow them around like an eager little puppy-dog. Most of the time what he seeks is entertainment. Easily bored, Cassandra spends a lot of time seeking out anything that can make him feel a little less… well, bored.
This is not to say, however, that he is harmless in his selfishness. Certainly, Cassandra enjoys watching humans destroy themselves slowly, from a distance. If he becomes too bored, however, of if the particular human he is watching is doing too well for themselves, Cassandra has been known to explode and kill them simply for something to do. He is wilful, vain, and difficult to control. It is the lucky ally who can convince him to behave himself.

History: Since he was a very young demon, Cassandra has been a bit… odd. Fascinated by mankind, he chose very early on to spend more time up in the human realm then in the realm to which he was born. Perhaps it is simply that humans are more fun to play with than demons are, but he was barely old enough to be called an adult when he ventured out of the demonic realm and sought out a host. He has spent centuries skipping from one host to another - always people who are beautiful, for he would never settle for anything less – just waiting for the ultimate entertainment of humanity’s final destruction. Of course, he is perfectly willing to help it along. Mostly he has stayed out of the path of the Guardians, but he has had one or two run-ins with them. And survived, much to the Guardians’ chagrin, but that is mostly because Cassandra feels no determination to hold a fight to the end. If he does not feel a battle is going his way, he’ll flee. It’s the best way to stay alive, after all, and he has no desire to leave behind his entertainment field.
Recently, Cassandra came into the body of an androgynous young high-school student. He overtook the human and moved him away from his home in Arizona, to sunny California, because he felt it was time to explore a new city. And that is how he came to exist in La Sena, California, where he applied to be a student at Ab Initio Academy. Why, he does not know – perhaps because he has never attended a human school before. It should be entertaining, considering how prone to drama human teenagers seem to be.

Fears: Cassandra, though it may seem pathetic, is deathly afraid of drowning. It would be a very unpleasant way to die. He cannot swim – he can barely take a shower without freaking out. Maybe it has something to do with how violently his element interacts with water?

Likes: Being entertained, being doted on, having his ego stroked, beautiful people, flirting (especially with human men, who often find it confusing to fall for a young boy), chocolate, sweet human foods, thunderstorms, getting on peoples’ nerves, lazing around, sleeping late, being late to class, having all attention focused on him, killing sprees, dancing just out of the Guardians’ reach, preening, make-up

Dislikes: Being ignored, ugly people, oftentimes other demons, spicy foods, being bored, not getting enough sleep, doing things he doesn’t want to do

Element: Lightning/Electricity

Weapon of Choice: A chain with a bladed weight on the end, which he uses as a sort of whip. He really enjoys running electricity through it and watching his victims spasm.

Fighting Style: Cassandra is more fast than strong – the reason he has always been able to run away if he chooses to do so, at least in the past. He relies heavily on the powerful electric current he runs up and down his whip. His weapon is ranged, and he prefers to keep his enemies at a great enough distance that they cannot hurt him back. It is not that he minds pain so much, being something of a masochist – it is more that he doesn’t want to ruin the pretty human flesh he has stolen.

Weakness(es): Cassandra has always had a particular aversion to crosses – they burn when he touches them. He is easily repelled by the scent of citrus, especially lemons and limes, and he hates the artificial version of the rose’s scent. Ultraviolet light bothers his eyes. His ears are quite keen, even within his human host, so loud noises are painful – he never attends concerts or movies where things might explode.

So begins...
