"A sly one? Me? Oh no, I like the ladies." the monk jested with a mischievous smirk.
Anil was raised from a young age under the tutelage of the Kal'ha Monastery to be a warrior monk. His personality reflects this training for the most part; to those not of the Kal'ha Anil is often cool and collected, doesn't jump to conclusions and will meditate upon his options before making decisions. On the other hand Anil has several qualities unbecoming of a Kal'ha monk. He has an air of confidence that is not humbling and is especially quick of wit when it comes to crude jokes and insults. He is also a persistent womanizer and is easily distracted by the sight of a fair maiden.
In combat Anil is calculating and efficient. His tactics often focus on the defensive where his skills are most effective, letting his enemies exhaust themselves upon his magical shields and gale force winds. Only when gaps in the enemy defense begin to open up does Anil commit to offensive maneuvers. Simultaneously Anil also sees it as his duty as a combat support member to ensure the protective safety of the guild, especially the women who he is quite fond of.

Like most would be monks Anil was abandoned at the steps of the mountain monastery of Ha'run'nen, home of the Kal'ha monks, as an infant. The monks brought up the infant in their care giving him his name and his home. Anil began his training as any other pupil and displayed particular affinity with magic and his superior performance was noted by the instructors which no doubt planted a seed of narcissism within his psyche.
It was when Anil reached his teen years that problems began to occur. Despite the fact that the male and female students were trained, housed and fed in divided, neighboring temples, the two genders were always within earshot of each other and although trained to ignore such distractions nature had its way sometimes. The curious Anil and several other male students would make a habit of occasionally sneaking out of the male barracks at night to visit the girls. Although most of the time the two groups simply engaged in harmless, albeit charged, adolescent banter there were times when things got a little more than flirtatious for Anil. One night, at the age of eighteen, Anil slipped out of the male temple out on his own to visit a very specific girl at the female temple, believing that she felt the same way about him as he did her. In blind, arrogant brashness, Anil tried to coax the girl into 'becoming one' with him, as the saying went. When his attempts failed he tried to force himself on her in frustration. She repelled Anil with a kick to the gut that sent him flying into a wall. Anil didn't even have to think about what disciplinary action he would have to undergo after the girl called the instructors. Castration was not on the list of challenges Anil wanted had for his life. So the boy ran. He stopped by the male barracks to grab his spartan belongings then fled from Ha'run'nen never to return.
Anil has since had time to reflect upon his impulsive actions as he continued his training in exile. He vowed to right his wrongs, to uplift himself by venturing from town to town putting his skills to use in the service of others. Despite his noble intentions and resistance to the adversity of hard travel and combat, Anil still easily succumbed to temptation. It was far less of a moral burden on Anil's conscious when women offered themselves to him as a reward for his good deeds. And indeed many a damsel in distress were in need of a dashing warrior who performed good deeds. Nearly ten winters after he began his self-imposed exile those same patterns of human behavior still ring true.
One summer ago Anil arrived at Umbryn and within a very short period of time heard of the league of do-gooders that was the Guild of Nine Swords. Anil figured they could use another helping hand and he needed lodging. He registered with the Guild with particular vigor after he met that gorgeous red haired girl with braids. Now Anil serves as a valuable combat support member of the Guild, his powerful protective magic able to ward off battle axe chops as a window does an angry fly. He uses his power over the winds to both batter and slice enemies as well as knock them off balance for his allies to finish off. As a trained martial artist Anil also has strong hand-to-hand combat skills and can easily disarm and disable single enemies in personal combat. In addition, Anil's slight but solid knowledge of light magic and herbal salves make him the unofficial apothecary of the Guild. Anil is still trying to work his way closer to the heart of that fiery warrior girl, but thus far she'll have none of him.
