Once part of the moderately successful boyband: Taiyo to Hoshi (太陽と星) or Sun and Stars, Oshiro Arashi was slated to be the "sun" of the group while the rest of the members acted as the orbiting stars. Unfortunately they had one problem: his fear. Every time they performed he wouldn't be a shining light, but rather a storm. At first he thought that it was stage fright, but the idea of disappointing everyone reigned over him. He found it difficult to perform as adequately as his team members when his self-consciousness overtook his motivation. Stuttering, missed timing, and forgotten lyrics dragged down practices and occasionally costed his colleagues the pristine image they envisioned. Despite his expertise in dancing and acting, he kept to himself and only gave apologies when he fumbled. As much as he wanted to get closer, he always felt anxiety when he approached anyone offstage. The only boon was his Incubus glamor. By playing up his traits, fans became attracted to his heterochromia and sharp grins while overlooking his less attractive qualities. Because of that, they attempted retooling Taiyo to Hoshi toward an edgier audience, giving the members piercings to wear, leather jackets, and even contacts to complement his white eye.

For a while that bolstered his confidence enough to unleash his charisma as the studio could paint him as the "aloof bad boy" whenever he acted more fearsome than fierce. He could be the mysterious mute who turned down interviews when really, it was easier to immerse himself online. He felt relieved in the lowered expectations, but his teammates resented the manager's constant accommodations. In their words "we're not stars. We're just Arashi's clouds." Because of that, the rest of Arashi's band members gave the managers an ultimatum: either he improved or they broke up. The change asked for more than his human self could give, causing him to retreat further into his shell. Naturally, the band dropped him, leading him to take a six month sabbatical (which mostly consisted of video games). Each journey he completed in a game reminded him of the journey he'd yet to complete in real life and thus, inspired him to come back to the music industry. When he reemerged he decided that he couldn't depend on his human side, merely the Incubus. After all, what was a game character without any powers? It was comforting to lose himself in the idea of being the protagonist even though he never wanted the spotlight.

By fully investing in his Incubus side, his appearance grew to reflect supernatural features; Shiina took notice, calling his manager to take him into the studio to discuss a contract. Despite some technical issues with his singing, he seemed to mesh well enough with the group to keep a spot. THORNϟFURY proved equally as rigorous as his last group, but he found solidarity in their fully Incubi cast. Though remnants of his anxiety popped up from time to time, his band members provided support rather than backhanded encouragement (not to mention all the friend codes). Even though he still stutters he isn't afraid to speak because they too underwent previous failure. No longer is he caught in the storm, but instead has found a place where he could one day shine.

“1, 2, 3, 4…”*

Shoes glided as nine men shuffled and then squeaked to denote themselves fanning out. Though the venue was empty, its vinyl flooring provided the perfect space to practice. Though it lacked the flashing strobe lights and smoke of the actual show, it’s texture mimicked that of the stage’s floor. The sounds of stagehands, “surprise” camera crews, and makeup artists clamored around them as they filmed behind-the-scenes footage and waited for interviews.

THORNϟFURY’s mentor and choreographer called out dance moves more loudly than usual, his smile betraying his excitement. The banner that the stagehands unraveled paid tribute to Hajime’s silhouette while still showcasing everyone else. Ericas bloomed on either the side of the picture, accented by a splash of glitter. Pop artists always needed a bit of panache after all.

“Wait pause,” Seiya said, holding his hand up to stop the dance, “did you guys need something?”

From the left side came a tawny-haired woman with a microphone and a young cameraman with a handheld. Unlike the yellow of the spotlights, the harshness of the white light caused Seiya to squint before returning to his usual jubilance.

“Yes, I’m Kirihara Hatsue with J-Pop news. Could you spare a second to talk to us about your upcoming show?” the interviewer asked, thrusting the wireless microphone in the redhead’s direction.

He pursed his lips for a second before looking over everyone. Though they only had thirty minutes before the actual show began, their form needed a bit more polish. They were nearly there they just needed something more. Aoi had all of this raw, boundless potential and at only a month, he verged on matching his band’s pace. Still, this performance with RoseChandelier would be the real test of synergy.

“Haruma, you’re a quarter step ahead of everyone, Arashi you know all the steps so help Eishi when he comes back from the bathroom,” he smiled, “I’ll be back everyone. Keep on practicing guys!”

Seiya led the interviewers off stage, pointing out some of the area’s quirks while Arashi stepped up to the makeshift speakers they set up in the corner.

“I wouldn’t be a quarter step ahead if I didn’t have to go at these people’s pace,” Haruma scoffed as Arashi rewound the track.

“Now’s not the time you narcissist,” was what Arashi wanted to say, but given their time frame he pushed his thoughts toward the concert.

“F-from the top everyone! Five, six, seven, eight.”

Once more, both bands gathered as one as the song started before spreading as the synths dictated each movement. Carefully timed nods, spins, and shuffles transitioned into pauses and shifts. Each pause and willful gesture toward one of Hanakotoba’s stars affirmed their cooperation while showcasing their individual talent. Naturally, RoseChandelier’s members had first pick in the solo moments so when it came time for each member to shine, they pulled through. Haruma, as always, provided a smile encased by unrivaled self-confidence (if one could call it that) before sliding back to the middle. Then came Masaru with his impeccable charisma and royal demeanor, drawing the attention (and blushes) of a few makeup artists.

They had fifteen more minutes before they needed to be in the makeup studio, ten before they needed to be in the dressing room, and five before they could take a break. If they wanted to, they could have ended practice much earlier, but what would be the point? Hajime always pushed himself beyond necessity, without anyone else’s input because he lived for the fans (even if he didn’t show it).

As the music swelled, everyone gathered toward the middle, marching in unison with their arms crossed in an “x” formation. It would only be the first in a series of peaks and the chance to transition Aoi to the front.

Arashi needed only to count off the beats in the song.

Nine, ten, and…

Where he should have continued marching, an elbow flew out, knocking Aoi to the ground.

Arashi glanced from across the row, throwing Haruma a look as he quickly realized the situation.

“Try to keep up. You’re only making the old Erika look worse,” he sneered.

As deftly as he’d rammed into the white-haired boy, Haruma eased back into formation with hardly a hair out of place. It wasn’t enough to be Hanakotoba’s comeback concert. It needed to be his concert.

Aoi followed the song's beat, mimicking the movements he'd been taught to go along with each section. Admittedly, he wasn't used to the gruelling practices and critical feedback, but he learnt to appreciate them. His brother's presence and usual perfection was once again a thorn at his side, but it wasn't too big a deal. Today, he was focused on what was directly ahead of him. Despite the fatigue he could feel creeping up on him, adrenaline forced him to keep up with everyone else's pace. He should probably look into asking for strength and stamina training after this concert. It only made sense; neither two were things he could cover in a month.

Silver eyes tracked Seiya's movement as he left the vicinity, turning to Haruma as he voiced his thoughts. No, that just meant he was offbeat. He held his tongue however; now wasn't the time to spark an argument. Even if he was older than some of the others, Aoi knew he was at the bottom of the totem pole. Hajime's silhouette behind him only served as a reminder of that fact.

With some reluctance from the RoseChandelier's members, they followed Arashi's lead. Their voices rung out as they each took their solo, and Aoi can't help but feel a touch of insecurity upon hearing their abilities. He knew for a fact he didn't have his brother's talent, but accepting that truth didn't make him any less upset about it.

Their training shoes squeaked as all ten of them moved into formation, and he knew it was almost time for him to ease into the spotlight.

Nine, ten, and…

Before he reached his spot in the formation, an elbow knocked him hard to the ground. Ow. He only winced, and kept his face carefully impassive at Haruma's jab. It only served to upset him further, those feelings of inadequacy growing at such an inopportune time. But he'd hold his tongue, as he'd always done. With the assistance of Hayato, he pulled himself up, rubbing the spot on his back where he'd landed. It probably wouldn't be anymore than a bruise, thankfully. The white-haired man would've been positively livid if he'd gotten injured in this concert. "That definitely wasn't an accident, but whatever." Aoi would muddle through somehow. Ericas bloomed in adversity, right?

Although Masaru was well aquatinted with Haruma’s need for drama and attention it did nothing to soothe the irritation he felt toward the man. The haughty tone and demeaning gaze was not the source of his ire, however it did contribute to it, but rather it was the fact that because of him the reputation of Rose Chandelier would be damaged inexcusably.

Surrounding the venue were interviewers and camera crews who watched the group hungrily for any and all news. If there was anytime to showcase a facade then would have been a time to do it, but Haruma apparently had not seemed to understand the situation he was in.

By acting abhorrently he was showcasing the kind of behavior one could expect from the group as a whole - would tolerate as a whole. As such fans and media alike would then begin to speculate on the true personalities of the members wondering why the group would allow such behavior to continue.

Such was the reasoning why despite Masaru’s want to ignore his brother, he loathed to say it in his mind much less out loud, he walked over to him and placed a gentle hand on his shoulder. Not looking at the cameras Masaru positioned his body to give the best angle of their exchange, and appeared to be oblivious.

After all, it wouldn’t do him well for the media to start questioning his motives if he were to exhibit a grand display of worry.

“Are you alright, Aoi?” He looked into a face similar to his own and gave him a small smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes. Taking his hand off his shoulder he then continued, “You look a bit pale.”

“That definitely wasn't an accident, but whatever.”

“Ah, it must be the stress that made Haruma do that,” he lied flawlessly, “He wants everyone to do their best and I suppose the heat of the moment got to his head, right?”

Masaru turned to face Haruma who went back to his position not looking the least bit guilty. From the corner of his eye he noticed the behind the scenes crew turn their cameras toward the man in question silently awaiting his response. He smiled.

Haruma had two choices now: agree with him and save face, or tell the truth and be publicly scorned at for his behavior. Either way, Masaru had done his job trying to quell the situation and could only then be painted as the peacemaker.

Practices had been picking up recently in preparation for the comeback concert, but all the extra effort Kazuki had put in was paying off, and he barely felt the strain. He was still sweating buckets but the ache of muscles well used was a comfort, and he was quick to take in all the off-stage camera activity.

While all the media personal backstage was starting to grate, Kazuki tried his best to immerse himself in the practice. He paused to watch Seiya indulge the interviewer, relieved to have at least one less vulture circling. ‘Better you than me any day,’ he thought as he tracked his mentor outsight with the interviewer and cameraman intow.

Kazuki turned back to Arashi, put all other thoughts out of his mind and focussed on each individual move as he did them. He was succeeding pretty well, using the burn of his muscles and the comfortably familiar steps to hypnotise himself when out of nowhere he heard a THUD behind him. Knowing full well exactly who was behind him, Kazuki whipped around, eyes narrowed to take in the sight.

As he thought. Yukimura-san was on the ground, looking worse for wear with Yoshida standing over him looking as innocent as a summer’s day. ‘Yeah right,’ Kazuki thought derisively, ‘As innocent and pure as a trash heap.’

He glanced over at Yukimura-san, and seeing that he was taken care of, turned a lightning fast sneer on Yoshida. Extremely conscious of all the media representatives, Kazuki controlled himself as much as possible. He only let spill a small snort and a snide, “Wouldn't it be you needing to keep up? A veteran performer who can't even keep to tempo. How disgraceful.”

Well. Relatively controlled. He just hoped Seiya wouldn't be disappointed to come back to such a dramatic mess.

Practice was grueling as usual, and he loved it that way. He was used to the camera; more than once radios and music programs would ask to listen in and record their practices. He moved and behaved as if they were never there - which the press ate up hungrily. His natural camaraderie with Thorn Fury and rather spark-filled confrontations with RoseChandelier was great material for tv stations all over Japan.

He couldn't help but feel irked as their flow was interrupted by a gutsy reporter who had the gall to call for Seiya's attention. Hayato was close to telling her off, but Seiya indulged her, much to his annoyance. He was left to grumble silently and return to practice with Arashi at the helm; a decision he didn't agree with as the red-haired incubus didn't have a leadership bone in his body, but he was admittedly the best dancer in Thorn Fury. RoseChandelier would be too self-absorbed in their solo's to really bother helping everyone else in their united dancing.

Hayato immediately moved to assist his teammate, feeling his anger boil at Haruma's scathing comment. Aoi tensed at Masaru's approach, but the ex-band singer remained largely oblivious to it. Of fucking course Aoi would be nowhere near Ken's level; that was a given considering the latter's professional attitude. But simply comparing the two wasn't fair, even with Hayato's prejudice against him.

Kazuki's snide remark brought a smirk to his face, easily finding a comment to compliment it. "Well he has to endear himself to the fans somehow." He places his hands in the pockets of his sweatshirt nonchalantly. "The 'kakkoi' - his voice pitches to sound like a girl, "- image is his only selling point after all."

"The only one making Hajime look worse is your presence." He moves to stand directly in front of Haruma, forgetting the presence of media around them. The difference in centimeters was small, but it was enough to irk Hayato further. Yes, it was petty, but he felt he needed any sort of leverage he could get with this narcissist. "You need to sit the fuck down and stop making yourself the star."

Nevermind the publicity, Azusa feels his stomach explode at Seiya's departure. Although he'd grown accustomed to the lights and cameras, he never adapted to Seiya's many responsibilities. There were times when Seiya needed to be elsewhere, and Azusa still did't quite know how to accept that. He'd always relied on THORNFURY's leader as a safety blanket.

To worsen his anxiety, he would be needing to perform in tandem with RoseChandelier, of whom he was terrified. Although a few RoseChandelier members had shown him kindness, namely, Hayate, Hotaru, and (possibly?) Masaru--he couldn't help but feel frightened. What would they think of him? An ex-utaite who could barely dance?

Calm yourself, he thinks. Concentrate on Hotaru's movements, and follow suit.

Tired from a night filled with video games, Azusa barely manages his choreography. His mind seems to have detached itself from his body, and he struggles to imitate his groupmates. He remembers Seiya's advice on focusing towards sensory details in times of stress. Now would be a good time to try that. The ground beneath his feet squeak with each slide, and he uses the sounds as a kind of metronome. Squeak. Squeak. Squeak. One. Two. Three. Gratefully, his breath returns to him and his thought flow resumes.

A loud noise signals a commotion, followed by a thud, but Haruma's height blocks his view.

It takes Azusa a moment to realize that Aoi slipped.

Beside him, Hotaru chuckles at Hayato's scathing comment, and ceases his part of the routine as well.

Hotaru's voice grounds Azusa to the situation. "Ne, Haruma-kun, maybe you should apologize?" Hotaru kindly says. "If Aoi-kun really needs to shape up, we need to teach him, ne?" He places a hand on Haruma's shoulder, as if to placate him.

"Aoi-san, are you okay?" Azusa is mumbling. A small part of him is thankful that the first to fall is Aoi and not himself. He is bewildered by his own thoughts, and feels guilty. Suddenly feeling his anxiety return, he makes his way to Hayato, his best friend and backup security blanket.

Sensing Azusa's discomfort, Hotaru pulls Haruma "away from Aoi" only to place him closer towards the Clover's favorite victim. The Forget-Me-Not reassuringly smiles at the baby-faced idol in passing.

Now, for more excitement.

One two three four. Hayate counted the Beats with mild anxiety, awfully conscious about the way his feet stepped and turned. Being a solo singer all these years had its down points, which is the fact that he is arguably the worst Dancer in all of Rose chandelier. It's not as though he couldn't get better if he tried, but Hayate didn't place dancing high on his list of priorities. As Long as he looks good and doesn't trip over his feet in front of all those cameras he was fine, and it was at these times that he appreciated the fact that most of the roses were showy. If the attention was taken off his mediocre dance moves, all they had to listen to was his voice.

If necessary... Hayate made a mental reminder to himself to ask Arashi to teach him how to dance the next time they met. The best Dancer out of all of them, he seemed to be comfortable in his element. That is, if he's not still worried over being the leader. Trying to focus on following the dance to the beat, Hayate's attention was only shifted when he saw a movement from Haruma. Was he trying to harass Azusa again? Haruma gave him the feeling that he was always trying to antagonise someone every five minutes, Hayate wouldn't be surprised if that happened again.

However, this time was different. It was the newest member, the one replacing Erika named Aoi. And as usual, the Thorn Fury members were already squaring up to defend him, mostly by jeering at Haruma like a bunch of mean girls. Wonderful, this is what fighting in the idol industry is all about, Hayate thought sarcastically to himself, noticing how Masaru was playing the good guy from the corner of his eye and letting air out through his teeth in small hiss of annoyance. That was supposed to be his role. What was he going to do now?

The tension was thick enough to be cut with a knife. Hayate couldn't help but take a sharp intake of breath as the atmosphere crackled with hostility. There were sharp Flavours dancing on his tongue, spicy and bitter. Disgusting. Pulling a face quietly, Hayate swallowed and moved forth. It wasn't as though combined rehearsals didn't always fall into these kinds it petty problem, but this time was honestly more important. Posing them as a cohesive group that could cooperate without a hitch was always a plus for the Hanatakoba, as far as the entertainment Hayato provides, it was best to keep it at the mild point. Perhaps he would've found some shred of amusement in how Haruma was being insulted as a team effort, but not at the point of time with so many potential eyes focused on their performance.

"Ara, Ara. What do we have here?" Stepping smoothly up to the two standing mere centimetres apart, Hayate positioned himself in the centre of the two, lightly placing a hand on Hayato's shoulder and pushing him gently away. "Is Chun-Kun and Saltduck-Kun facing up to the high and mighty narcissus for little Neko-tan? How admirable." The smile was dancing on his lips, as gentle as the sun. There was no trace of hostility to be seen on his face, none of which betrayed the silent screeching that was only getting louder at the back of his mind. The worst case scenario is that their reputations will be ruined forever, and Hayate will get himself into a pickle that he wouldn't like to solve. Keeping good relationships with everyone was his top priority, and he didn't wish to ruin his image with the fans if he didn't do something about it. How troublesome.

"Narcissus-kun, you're too harsh on the new members. We mustn't tease them when they haven't met their full potential, no? You are technically their senior, they're lower than you anyway. Your job is to guide them, not antagonise." Yeah, if Haruma listened to that he wouldn't have been Haruma any longer. Hayate was certain that Haruma would've been a saint if he actually followed all that people told him, considering their mentors' efforts. Well, he was only trying to appease both parties after all. Hayate could care less about whatever Haruma does to Aoi as Long as if doesn't involved killing him. Luckily, the lovesick firefly backed him up as Hotaru attempted to calm Haruma as well. All the cameras were focused on those commotion now, and Hayate simply went to the next step. Moving away from this entire topic before Haruma's predator like eyes could manage to ruin his favorite meal.

Hayate could already see it in his mind's eye the gigantic butterfly effect that would happen as Hotaru moved Haruma just a bit closer to Aoi. Sly. Sly indeed.

"Now, everyone!" Hayate brought his hands together into a light clap, the soft but sudden sound making all the cameras turn to him. "We don't have much time left with practice, you know! So let's leave it at that, alright?"

"Yoshida-san what are you doing?"

Though the stereo continued playing, the tension nullified any chance of practice among Hanakotoba's band members. Beyond the stage cameras and eager paparazzi poised themselves in the background as they awaited Haruma's reaction. He had only two choices: to either apologize or stand his ground. Freesia and Sayuri were the most volatile of THORNϟFURY's members and they had no intention of allowing Yoshida to escape blame. As much as Arashi wanted to intervene he didn't want to fan the flames or worse, get caught in the middle. He needed to say something, but what? Yukimura, being the only one privy to the existence of negative press reacted the quickest, putting the Edelweiss's heart at rest.

"H-hey everyone. Yukimura-san is righ-"

"Someone has to be the star," Haruma quickly cut in, unperturbed by either of his aggressors, "I'm the one in the middle, I've been the longer performer, and I'm not the one who fell. Stop making excuses just because you look like someone spilled paint on your head."

The Yotsuba stepped closer to the Freesia, very aware of their difference in height and purposefully oblivious to everyone else. Hayate's attempt to stroke his ego was comforting, but it was not until he felt a slight push that he actually turned toward Higanbana. The anger surged through him as he found a new target. He had no reason to feel anything toward the boy (not even truly a man, but a mere child in his eyes) and yet something about him proved particularly irritating.

Of course, today would be one of the rare occasions where Haruma would not be using him as a punching bag. The purple haired male wrapped his arm around the shorter boy, forearm resting tightly under the crook of Azusa's neck.

Silent clicks may have signaled phone photography from offstage but the Sakura’s final attempt at diffusion distracted the Yotsuba.

“Y-yeah Hayate-san is right. No sense in further c-c-conflict” Arashi piped in, his voice hitching at the last word.

He'd been assigned to lead the group yet his only accomplishment had been piggybacking off the comments of others. The Edelweiss bit his lip, unsure of whether to intervene for his band mate.

"I only need one answer," Haruma replied, "Tell me, do you think Yukimura-kun's brother fell? Go ahead, tell the truth to everyone.”

He turned Azusa’s body toward the “audience” which mainly meant THORNϟFURY’s other members.

Perhaps the boy’s answer might be enlightening.

Perhaps Haruma was looking for another excuse to knock someone down.

        Masaru hated being an idol.

If he had known that the fragile egos of his fellow band members would be so volatile as to ensure the possibility of outright war every day, then he would have continued to pursue his initial plan of becoming a teacher. Perhaps it would not have made a difference, however, as he would be trading one set of people he dislikes for another.

There seemed to be no winning.

"Tell me, do you think Yukimura-kun's brother fell? Go ahead, tell the truth to everyone,” Haruma asked, his arm wound tightly around Azusa’s neck.

Masaru’s initial reaction was to chuckle silently and commend the man for his remark, if only in his head, for certainly it was a jab to Aoi to be referred to as Masaru’s brother.

His second reaction was to idly answer the question in his head (for it was obvious that Haruma intended THORNϟFURY to respond — if his body language was anything to go by), ‘of course he fell, everyone saw it,’ and his third reaction was to stop and realize and then become indignant.

As much as Masaru loved to have his brother feel inadequate, for truly that was all Aoi ever was good at, he hated even more to have his family name be slandered; and in the context of the situation everyone knew of their familial ‘bond’. By humiliating Aoi, and in turn Masaru, Haruma was showcasing the Yukimura’s inability to raise two well versed children.

By those standards he couldn't help but feel angry. It wasn’t his parents fault that their younger son couldn’t live up to their expectations, but Masaru knew that not many would understand that.

Upon this realization, he simply hardened his gaze and looked toward his brother to see what he would do.

Of course Masaru could intervene to try and defend Aoi but he hoped — no, he expected — his brother to be able to stand up for himself. After all, he was a Yukimura and letting their family name be talked about in such a way like that was irresponsible.

He sighed and shook his head ‘no’ in thought.

Expecting that out of Aoi would be asking too much and so it was up to Masaru to fix their reputation as per usual.

In an obvious display of looking down at his watch Masaru then noted, “Ah, everyone we’re expected at the makeup studio right now,” he smiled, “Let’s get going, ne?”

Masaru couldn’t wait to tell Eishi what had happened this time around, for one of the few sentiments he enjoyed about his job was the gossip.

        He loved being an idol.

What Kazuki had hoped would be a quiet but scathing comment to end the situation and put Yoshida back in his place quickly snowballed further and further into an all out fight. Or rather, his anxiety about the encroaching press and lack of professionalism grew the petty spat to a huge knock-out, drag-out fight in his mind. Listening to Hayato-san needle at Yoshida, and then Kobayashi-san’s futile attempts to deescalate the situation, Kazuki could only despair as Yoshida took none of the outs given to him: through Yukimura-san’s conversational web weaving, Kobayashi-san’s placations, even Hayato-san’s thinly veiled taunts.

With Yoshida’s every passing word and twitch, sweat began to slowly collect at the back of Kazuki’s neck, dripping down the back of his shirt and down his spine. Blaming it on the heat of lights, he closed his eyes for a second to take a breathe, suddenly realized that his face had fallen into a deep scowl, his forehead and eyebrows tense and his jaw clenched.

Guiltily smoothing out his face, he opened his eyes to face Yoshida just as he put Azusa-kun into a barely friendly headlock. Kazuki’s eyes darted to the circling media, heart almost stopping as Haruma continued to polarize the conversation.

Thankfully Yukimura-san the elder stepped in with an excuse, eagerly attempting to herd everyone out of the limelight. Kazuki jumped desperately on to the distraction, and chimed in.

“The concert will be starting soon! Masaru-san is right that we need to heading over for make-up. Once we’re done with make-up and costume we can come back for one more full dress rehearsal. I’ll let Seiya know that we’re headed over now, if you can let the makeup people know, Arashi?” With the last question, Kazuki walked quickly off the stage, in the direction he had seen Seiya had gone, fighting the urge to run away from the confrontation with every step.

Hayate quietly stiffened as Haruma rested his arm around Azusa's neck, in a supposedly 'friendly' headlock. Friendly as how a predator would be when it has secured its prey, perhaps. Hayate was near convinced that it was a choke hold, a sudden gust of anger seizing his mind. Azusa was his perfect, cultivated meal. How dare another incubus lay his hands on what Hayate claimed as his.

It took every cell in his body to perfect his smile, trying to cancel the scowl that was forming as he bristled in annoyance. It can't be helped. If he murdered Haruma in front of the cameras it won't be a pretty sight, direct conflict was also going to mar his image. Smiling and gentle, bringing salvation in the darkest of times as a beacon of hope. That was what he needed to show them all. A beacon of hope does not kill his own teammate, unfortunately for him.

At least, he was not the only one uncomfortable with the situation at hand. The Edelweiss looked like he was having a hard time himself, something that Hayate could hardly blame him for. Leaving anyone in charge of Haruma would be a nightmare, Hayate didn't believe that anyone or anything could tell him to do something he didn't want to. When it came to compromise, the yotsuba was almost as stubborn as he himself was. Clasping his hands to his chest, Hayate looked up the the sky in a mock prayer.

One that nearly seemed to be answered a moment later as Masaru stepped in to interfere. An action possibly more self centered than anything, Hayate doubted the Shiragaku would raise a finger to help his twin Brother in distress. The little prince simply wasn't that kind of person. Still, Hayate was relieved to find more members trying to ease them out of the awkward situation they were put into in front of the cameras. Now, the only thing they needed was for Haruma to give up. It was the perfect opportunity to, with the excuse of time restraints. But the yotsuba only tolerates a single person's company out of all of them, the one that started all of this as far as Hayate was concerned.

Shooting a pointed look toward the Edelweiss, Hayate cleared his throat softly, inclining his head to Haruma's direction while the cameras were still focused on their little scuffle. Say something, his eyes implored. He was getting impatient with dealing with this nonsense on a daily basis even without the lovesick firefly fanning the flames, enough that he would even face what he considered to be the most formidable Rose Chandelier member to have matters end quickly.

"Let go of him. Right now" The voice that left Hayato's lips was uncharacteristically cold, calling the attention of others in its subtlety, a trait no one would ever associate with the Freesia. The incident with Aoi was a long-forgotten matter; blue eyes were focused on the owner of the arm that had Azusa in a headlock. Everyone knew of the long-standing feud between him and Haruma, having gotten a taste of it just minutes before. But when all the incidents today added up, and with the pressure of the show just in front of him, Hayato snapped.

The expression on his face clearly spoke of violence beyond the norm of what was expected. Sure he'd almost socked him many times, but this was different. This said that he would make sure that Haruma would be unable to walk by the time he was through. The man may tower lord over him by a few centimeters, but Hayato would bet his right arm that he'd handled nothing that was physical his entire life. Being in a brawl was different from regular hours at a gym, and the Freesia had enough fights under his belt to know that.

Aoi, sensing the tension amounting to almost tangible levels, decided to intervene. The entire situation had started with his fall; he should've known better than to trust the Roses to mind their own business. Next time, he wouldn't be so careless.

"Listen, let's just let bygones be bygones and get on our way." With a sigh, he forcibly pulled Azusa out of the Yotsuba's grasp, making sure he was in the safety of Hayato's radius before turning back to the drama king. "I won't mess up if you don't come within a foot of me; the stage and our formations are big enough to accommodate that. We'll go ahead."

Hayato seethed even as he stalked off backstage, barely checking to see if Azusa was following behind him. At the moment, he wasn't feel very amiable, even to his best friend. He was liable to scold him for not fighting the man off, even though he knew perfectly well that it simply wasn't in Azusa's nature to fight back. Instead, he stewed in silence under the watchful gaze of Aoi, who watched out for anything breakable that might get in Hayato's way.

The white-haired man had always expected a violent streak underneath Hayato, but it was the first time he'd seen how deep it ran. Quite frankly, it made him nervous to know just how volatile he could be. But he also knew that he had a deep devotion to his fans and not even Haruma could ruin that for him; he'd keep it in check until the day he was ready to let go of his fame. For now at least, he was secure in the knowledge that he would only brew and not punch the purple-haired man midconcert.
