Roberta was born to Aurora Sinistra and Alexander Michaels. Her mother did all she could to protect Rio from her father and Paternal grandmother. During her school years Rio went by her fathers last name, so that people wouldn't talk ill about her Mother. She knew many of the students would claim that her mother was playing favorites.
In her 6th year however, Rio took her mothers last name.
