"It's fine Mum, really," Liam weakly assured the frantic woman on the other end of his current call, "No, Mum, no, that won't be necessary." Unconsciously the young man began to fiddle with the surprisingly long phone cord, twisting it round his finger and back again as his overbearing mother continued to insist on the importance of five herbal bathes a day and the risk of over exhaustion from walking. "Mum, I'll be *fine*, Doctor Finnegan already went over the risks of benefits of being here, you don't have to worry about me all the time anymore..."

Met with only silence on the other end, Liam momentarily tensed, fearing he'd managed to somehow upset his mother yet again. The cord he'd inadvertently been using as a stress reliever coiled round his finger fervently, drawing the attention of a lurking predator with each twist of the wire.

"I suppose you're right, Boo--Liam, you're an adult now...I should start treat--" It was then that the advancing beast pounced, lashing with dangerously sharp claws for the cable twined finger. With his grip on the device slipping, the phone fell with a clatter to the floor. At about the same time as the phone made contact, the startled Liam released a howl of pain. "Aufghstuu--Miri! What the hell was that for?!"

The relatively small, fluffy calico cat innocently stared back with an unblinking gaze, tail swaying only ever so slightly. For a moment Liam glowered at the kitten, but the adorable hellion of a cat's innocent expression and mewls were enough to make him drop the matter. She meant it as play, surely.

As his attention drifted from the devilish cat, to the slow trickle of blood from his new cut, and then to the pile of only half coherent story boards, Liam became vaguely aware of a shrill screech in the air. Furrowing his brown in bemusement, softly biting his lip in concentration, and running a hand roughly through his hair to work away his mother induced anxiety, the dark haired youth considered what could possilby be causing the irritating noise.

It wasn't for another minute or two, when the sound began to add a sobbing element to it, that he recalled the dropped phone. By then the damage had been done and it seemed Liam would be forced to reassure his mother of the safety of his new home for yet another agonizing hour. The Grandfather clock in the corner of his cozy little shack of a house had only just stuck 9 and Liam already felt he'd wasted half the day doing the exact same thing he'd been doing for weeks prior, trying to get his mother to stop panicking over every singly horrible possibility she could imagine. What a fine way to start a morning.

The sunlight from the new dawning sun shone right in Merry's eyes, her eyelids slid open revealing their brilliant jade green color. She sat up in bed and yawned, looking around the room that had been her parents not to long ago, the same country style wallpaper had put on the walls long before she was born. "Purrrrr purrrrr", she heard down by her feet she looked down to see a short haired black cat with bright yellow green eye. "Mew", iterated the cat, "Well Nibbles are you trying to tell me that your hungry", she reached out and petted the cats silky shiny fur. Nibbles rubbed up against her palm and Merry couldn't help but smile, she then heard the sound of paws padding on the wood floors of her two story home. She heard then heard the jingle of a collar and then "Bark!", the little tan puppy jumped into her bed startling the cat, causing her to skitter under the bed. "Good morning to you too Scraps, are you ready to start the day as well", the little puppy jumped in her lap and started licking her face. Merry giggled "I'll take that as a yes", she set the puppy on the bedroom floor as she stood up out of bed. She turned around and made the bed as Nibbles weaved in and out of her legs rubbing as she passed through.Scraps ran over to the bedroom door and sat next to it waiting for his master to go down stairs. Merry hummed a tune she had heard her mother sing many times in her life, she pulled out her work clothes for the day a simple pair of overalls and red t-shirt to wear under it. She sat down at the vanity in her room picking up her brush she ran it through her long honey blonde hair, before taking a hair band and tying it back to keep it out of her face as she worked.

Before long she was walking down the stairs and into her kitchen her cat and dog trailing behind her. She went to the pantry and and pulled out the two pets dishes. Scooping out some per food for both of them in each dish and setting the bowls down with a clink of metal next two little porcelain bowls already filled with water. "There you go you two", she said with a smile as the cat and dog both walked over to their dishes and happily began to eat their breakfast. "Well now it's my turn" she looked up at the clock hanging above the stove in the kitchen. It was coming on to 6:30 am, "Well I need to hurry up there's work for me out there", she walked over to the fridge and pulled out an egg that she'd gathered form the chickens the day before. Opening the cupboard she pulled out a nice loaf of bread that she had baked a couple of days before and set it on the counter. She cracked the egg into a bowl and started scramble it with a fork, while pulling out her skillet she turned her stove. She took some butter and put a small pad in the warm skillet, swirling it around, when it had finally melted and started to bubble slightly in the pan she poured the egg she had scrambled just before. Sprinkling in some salt and paper just for a bit of flavor, she left it there to cook for a moment to while she sliced some bread off of the loaf. After making a couple of slice she set then on a pan and put the in the oven to toast. Coming back to her eggs she stirred them until they had set up, she took her plate, and scooped the steaming scrambled eggs onto the plate, she then opened the oven and pulled out her toast. She set them on the plate with the eggs and then went back to the fridge pulling out some milk from the day before, pouring some into a cup. She then took it over to the table and began to enjoy her breakfast.

As soon as she had finished eating and did her dishes, she pulled on her boots and made her way out the door, by then it was around 7:30 am. It was a little rainy which was common in the spring Merry didn't mind to much it meant less watering for her to do. But that meant she had to concentrate on her animals more not being able to let them out into the weather she would have to make sure they had feed and fodder in their bins. They couldn't go out and eat off the ground or in the fields of fresh grass, if it was raining. She made her way first to the chicken coop, as she went to the dispenser and pulled out the feed for her six chickens. She hefted it up on her shoulder as she poured some into each of the troth's set up for them, they were made of planks of wood but shallow enough for the chickens to get to it. As soon as they heard the feed begin to pour into the troth's they hopped off their nests and started pecking away. Merry sat with them for a moment she had named each of them caring for them from chick to now wen they can have their own chicks if she wished. But she enjoyed the eggs that she got form them right now, so Merry hadn't gotten a rooster yet. She loved each of them and they enjoyed her company often time hopping up in her lap and clucking away.

When Merry was sure that every thing was good with them she made her way to the barn where the cows were and her horse Silver. Once as again as before she put fodder into the troth's for the cows and the horse. While they were distracted eating she brushed and then milked the cows. "Well girls I hope you'll get good enough so we can start selling S quality milk", she was of course answered with happy moos. She walked over to Silver, "Well you ready to go for a ride handsome", she got an excited whinny in response. She put on his blanket making sure there were no wrinkles in it, the she grabbed his leather saddle and bridle, putting it on him making sure it was secure but comfortable. She took the Silver by the reins and led him out of the barn, grabbing her rucksack on the way. Pulling herself up in the saddle, she patted the horse on the neck, "All right giddy up Silver", she led him into a trot as they maid there way to exit the farm she saw her father checking on the fields. It seemed no matter how hard she tried she could not get her father to stop working on the farm even after Doctor Finnegan had told him turn the farm over to Merry. "Papa, things looking good out there", she said with a smile, the old farmer slowly stood up from the ground with a little difficulty. "Mornin Merry", this was the way her father had greeted her every morning as far back as she could remember. She smiled down at her father as he patted Silver's neck, "You off to the general store dear?", he asked, "Yep I'm gonna get some fertilizer to help perk up them tomatoes", she said. "Well don't let me keep ya, those maters need it thats for sure", he said with a chuckle. Merry smiled big and started the horse going again, "Bye Papa" she said as she waved behind her.

Another customer left after happily receiving their order, "Please come again." Annie May, owner of the Honeydew Bakery and mother, smiled and happily waved goodbye. Her smile turned to a small frown when she looked upstairs, "Honestly, where is that girl?" She threw down her apron and headed up the stairs, her dark purple curls bouncing behind her.

She arrived at a door and opened it slowly just to peek in; there was a lump squirming under the sheets. Annie shook her head with a sigh; she walked over to the windows and pulled open the curtains, letting the Spring sun beam into the room. A low grumble sounded from under the sheets; Annie took hold of the covers and with all her power pulled them out, causing the person to roll onto the floor with a thud.

"Ouch! You couldn't have just shaken me like a normal person?" Iris growled scratching her purple bed-head irritably. Her mother hovered over her with a sly smile, "You know that wouldn't have worked, besides you should've been downstairs helping an hour ago!" With that she headed back downstairs to the bakery, Iris simply watched the woman walk away with a angry glare before she headed into the bathroom.

Getting out fully dressed and ready for the day, Iris headed down the stairs to help out her mother. Working part time at the bakery gave her something to do with her day; without it she would spend half, if not all, in her bed sleeping. A happy bark sounded from in back of her and before she knew it a red and white dog stood up to her, "Morning Revie!" Iris held the dog's paws in her hands then let go letting him return to all fours. Revya was the family dog and would sometimes help out on deliveries with Iris; he had been a part of the family since he was a puppy.

"Alright since you're finally down here, take charge up front while I go make the new batches." Iris saluted jokingly, "Yes ma'am!" Revya and Iris both stood at attention at the register mockingly, her mother simply shook her head with a laugh as she walked away to the kitchen. Iris leaned over the counter and heaved a sigh, "Think anything interesting would happen today, Rev?" Revya looked up at his owner and simply gave a bark in response.
