{“Some days, it feels like this all there is in the world. Kill or be killed."}
Jocelyn is at a constant struggle with herself. Being tugged at both sides; from who she is and who she wants to be. She finds herself drifting often, mind playing tricks on her in the dark. It's all these monsters she's constantly chasing. All those faces of people she's slaughtered haunting her in the night. It's true that madness runs in the family, at least where the Drayton clan is concerned. She fears that there's no way she can escape it. These days she sticks closely to herself, monitoring, on the defensive because she simply has to be. Some call her cruel, harsh, a wicked witch in her own rights - sans the actual witchcraft bit.
Others say sociopathic (untrue as it may be) because she has no true feelings about anything. Truth is she feels so much, so very, very much. That she has to hide it behind a tightly locked door otherwise she wouldn't be able to do what she has to in order to survive in this world. She does her best when it comes to making judgment calls. But she isn't a leader, she doesn't like to be the one others look to for clarity in a situation. She'd rather hang back on the fringes, and strike when she feels the time is right. Alternatively she's been known to blindly follow orders, an unleashed dog that's been trained all too well.
{“We're all going to bite it someday, today is just your lucky day."}
A hunter born and raised, and as such she is quite skilled in many different aspects of combat.
Be it hand-to-hand, long-range, or otherwise.
{“I'm sick of the endless back and forth."}
Spit into the fire at birth. Jocelyn’s mother was a Drayton, a direct descendant of the family name and Jocelyn was the god-daughter and niece of Victor Drayton himself. She was the apple of his eye, a little murder machine in the making if he had his way. Which he did. Because her mother, Ariel Drayton, was just as crazy as the rest of them. A killer in disguise as the ‘good guy,’ together and with the help of the Clan Jocelyn was raised into the life of a hunter. And not one of the good ones.
With a skewed view of the world its obvious that she isn’t all there in the head. Manic grins and sharp knives galore. Her first kill came at age eight, when her uncle took her hunting for a rogue wolf shifter in the backwoods of Harvester County National Forest. It had seemingly gone crazy and began killing locals. Thus Victor took her out, helped her to take it down, and put the knife in her hands to deal the killing blow. He had clapped when she slit its throat, congratulating her on truly becoming a Drayton. Since then, its been a way of life. Something she cannot change. Her entire life has revolved around hunting, and she has very had very little interest in anything else.
For a while as an older teen she traveled far and wide, going on solo hunts. Her Uncle gave her the cases, told her why these creatures should die, and she went after them with everything she had. Until she was faced with taking out an entire family. A family that included young children, not all of them supernaturally inclined. She didn't question it, but hunting those people - something in her snapped after that. Still blindly following the orders she's been given, but scrutinizing the details more. Weary of the motivations of her people. She has only recently returned to Harvester, settling down in her own place in the town of Wolf Pines.
She keeps an eye on the local "wildlife," but has no inclination to go after any of the creatures at this point in time despite the itch beneath her skin to do so. Her focus is more so on the murders and finding out just what the hell is going on. If that means stifling her murderous urges for just a moment...well she can handle that.
