Introduction

Image

Image For centuries, the supernatural has been terrorizing the humans. Killing them for sport or food. Using them as slaves or berating them for pleasure. The stronger the supernaturals felt the more humans died. A society of Hunters formed to kill the supernaturals that were killing or harming humans. As the hunter society started to become widely known among the supernaturals, many of them went into hiding. The human population doubled over without the supernatural population control. But of course a few supernaturals fall through the cracks. There is a war about to break out between Hunters and all Supernaturals. No one is safe anymore. Even the supernaturals that were hiding were now being hunted down.

ImageThe hunter society lives by a code. The code states that "Only hunt those that hunt us." Innocent supernaturals that find other means of food or don't hurt humans are spared. Everyone else is free game. Hunters tend to use various weapons. From automatic weapons to the basic sword. It all depends on the hunter. Only pure iron or pure gold can truly harm supernaturals. To be sure they are dead, they are shot in the head or in the heart for good measure. Among the hunter society is a highly skilled and wise ground of hunters. They are famously known as Moonlight. They are the hunters that deal with the most dangerous of supernaturals. The ones that take out the best of hunters. There punishments vary from torture to death and everything in between. When one of the members of the Moonlight died, it started the war.

AS they were walking, Eliana told him that she would try not to get lost. Timothy laughed silently. Thank you he signed back, still laughing slightly. She was so sweet. The male, was not acting as a guide. He was going to lead Eliana through this hike. They would be sight seeing. He would be pointing out different animals and plants. And as the sun goes down he would explain which stars would come up and where. He was actually really excited to have someone new to camp with. His sisters already knew everything so they liked to show up. But he was getting excited just thinking about getting to teach about what he loves to do. Once he got deep enough in the hike, he turned to make sure that Eliana was okay. She seemed to be so signing would not be a problem. Is there something specific you wanted to while camping? he asked her. He wanted to make sure that her needs were met.

Image

Elias was expecting a yes or no answer. He was serious about his question, even though he had no idea how to ask it. What he was not expecting was for the previous miserable Jakub to start laughing. The hunter was glad tat he was not so sad, but he was laughing. Does that mean the hugs were ineffective and he was laughing that it was even a question. "Yeah, they're helping" Elias let a small smile of relief form on his face. It would be a waste of all this physical contact if Jakub would be better off keeping to himself. There was some brief awkwardness between them, possibly due to Elias' awkward nature. He had never done any of this before. He was completely unsure of how this even worked. He did not want to push his own physical contact boundaries, but with the demon it wasn't weird. It was relatively normal. Eli could not imagine another person he would hug for this long. Maybe his sister. On her birthday. But even then. His thoughts were interrupted when Jakub placed a soft kiss on the hunter's lips. He had missed that two. He pulled back and kind of just started at him. Not with confusion, but with content. "But you don't have to push yourself for my sake" Elias knew that he did not have to do anything. In fact in any normal situation, Elias would have moved back away from Jakub. They were too close for way too long. But this was different. Today was different. Jakub needed him. Eli had missed him. "But I want too." he explained, not making any efforts to move away.

Eliana was extremely pleased with the sights. Everything was so fresh, so green. Mother nature was beautiful indeed, even though she could sometimes he very cruel. Her and Elie had a love hate relationship. The huntress looked like one of those table fans, her head turning in every direction. She didn't want to miss a single sight. She was so caught up in the view that she just barely caught what Timothy had signed. She thought about it for a moment, concluding that he had probably asked if there was anything specific she wanted from this trip. The huntress stared ahead for a moment. She could think of a few things, but only one was safe enough to say out loud. S'mores she said plainly. She had heard about s'mores, seen them on televison, ELi and her had attempted to make some using the heat of the stove, but she had never had real s'mores, made with out in the open air, under the stars with the heat of the camp fire. "I really want to try making some...and eating them too, of course

Image

Jakub wasn't sure what was going to come out of this. Eli had full permission to move away from him the moment he started feeling uncomfortable. Jakub may love physical displays of affection, but for Eli it was something brand new. "But I want too." and that was all Jake really needed to hear. The demon let himself relax a bit, feeling as if a thousand pounds had been lifted off his shoulders. For the time being, he forgot about what happened, about Lucio, about the fact that he and Eli shouldn't even be together. None of that mattered at the moment. Taking advantage of the silence, he leaned in once again almost having to stand on the tip of his toes, and pressed his lips to Eli's. This time lingering a little bit longer. The other didn't refuse, nor did he seem uncomfortable, which was very important. Slowly, as if asking for permission, his arms linked around Eli's neck. He was very aware of their height difference now more than ever, but it was okay. Everything was okay. And then there was the buzzing of a phone. Jakub froze, immediately recognizing it as his. Slowly pulling away from Eli, he stared at the couch where the cellular device way laying. It buzzed a few more times before quieting down. Only three people really messaged him, and one of them was less than a foot away. That meant there was a fifty/fifty chance that it was either his best friend, or his worst nightmare.

Timothy pulled out his compass to make sure that they were still headed north. He was not going to have her walking for so long since she was not used to it, but he did want to make sure that she got a good look at all the sights. Eliana seemed to be taking in her surroundings like he thought she would be. He was glad that she was enjoying herself so far. He was waiting for an answer for his question though. S'mores That was the most innocent answer that he has even heard. It was adorable almost. She went on to explain that she wanted to try making them and eating them. That was not hard to accomplish, considering Tim brought s'more making items. We can do that he signed back to her. This was going to be very nice. Looking ahead, he veered off to the left. Then he stopped walking when he reached a clearing. If we wait here long enough, deer will show up. Friendly deer. I promise. he explained.

Image

There was no comment on Elias newfound openness. The hunter was glad for that, he really did not want to explain why he felt this way. Emotions like this were still new to him and he would rather just act than have to talk. He visibly witnessed the demon relax which was good. Jake was starting to feel better. Elias was doing fairly well as a boyfriend. Boyfriend? That word just sounded strange in his head. They were dating, but they did not talk about the labels. Maybe the labels came with it. He just needs to ask Elie later. Maybe after he trip when she tells him that she now has a new boyfriend. Randomly Jakub pushed up on his heels and kissed Elias again. It was longer than before and welcomed. For a while, he was unsure of what to do with his hands. The demon wrapped his arms around his neck and he then wrapped his own arms around the demon's waist. Not to tight, but tight enough. This was good. For both of them. Then a phone was buzzing. For a moment, the hunter thought it was his own. Possibly his twin checking up on him and he could not miss this call. But that was not the case. The vibration was farther away than where it should be. They broke the kiss. Jake just looked at the direction of the phone and did not make any efforts to move. The hunter decided that he needed some help. Elias removed his own arms from the demon and then moved Jake's arms from his neck. Taking hold of Jake's hand gently, he started pulling him towards the couch. It was silent encouragement that whatever it was, that he would still be here.

Tim agreed to s'mores and Elie was ecstatic. Camping would not be camping without s'mores, that what people always said and if this was her first time camping, she wanted to do everything that was typical of that. As they kept walking, Tim explained there would be dear ahead. They reached a clearing and Tim stopped. They would get to see deer here? BUt wouldn't they stay away if they saw people were in their space? Elie didn't know much about animals, other than wolves for obvious reasons, but she did know that deer were scared easily. She glanced around before turning to Tim. [i]Won't they be scared of coming out here if they see us just standing around?. ELiana would love to see real life deer, maybe take some pictures to show Eli. He was always reading about all kinds of things, including animals. Maybe if camping turned out to be as fun as people say it is, she would come back with her brother.

Image

Jakub let the phone buzz. He was going to answer it of course, but he couldn't move. There was a big possibility that on the other side of that message was the bastard that could ruin the good mood Eli had worked so hard to build. He decided to wait a little longer, and then all of a sudden he was being pulled towards the couch. Perhaps Eli's way of letting him know he would there to make him feel better once again. There was a moment of hesitation before Jake disentangled their hands and took hold of the flashing electronic. No messages? Seconds later he noticed the e-mail sign prominently sitting at the top of the screen. The demon let out a sigh he didn't know he had been holding and let his body fall back onto the soft couch. "Work" he said, waving the phone slightly before tossing it aside. That much he could deal with. But not now. Later, after spending a bit more time with his hunter.

Eliana was right, usually deer are afraid of humans and avoid any place where they are. These deer for some reason were the exception. Many times Timothy has come up here, deer would come out onto the clearing. He was not a loud to feed them, but he would take pictures. It was really cool to see them in general. He would not get to close to them, just to make sure that he did not irritate any of them. He would want them to come back. Usually. But these are a rare exception. he signed back. His attention went back out to the trees, trying to look for any signs of deer movement. For a moment there was a nothing, but finally some deer started to emerge. They slowly left the safety of the trees to step out onto the clearing. Tim smiled. If you take pictures. No flash. You will frighten them. He commented. That was all he had to say about them. Other than that it was pretty much fair game when it came to them.

Image

Elias was really hoping that whoever it was that messaged him, would not ruin Jakub's mood again. He was starting to feel better and that took a lot out of the hunter. Seeing him relatively happier than he was, was a great thing. Eli never wants to see his demon that upset again. His demon? That sounded better than boyfriend. The two of them detangled hands and Jake checked his phone. "Work" That was a relief. No problems with the outside world. Now they could both relax. The hunter sat down next to the demon and crossed his arms. Not that he did not want to put his hands on Jake, it was just out of habit and it was the most comfortable position. For a moment there was some silence between them. Elias was not really sure what to say. There had been so much that happened to Jakub, that he was not really sure if Jake wanted to talk anymore. The hunter would be fine with that. Not talking is something that Eli is blessed with. But if Jake wanted to talk then Eli would attempt to say more than three words. Just then the conversation topic hit him. "Did you and your friend make up?" He was really hoping that was a yes or he would have just made his demon more miserable.

There was a short moment of piece during which neither of them attempted to sign anything and simply kept their eyes on the clearing, waiting for the creatures to emerge. And eventually they did. Wide-eyed and curious, they stared back at her. They were cute, very cute. Not the type of creatures Elie was used to seeing while out and about. Granted those damn supernaturals were usually on the cute side, but it was no where near the same as this. The huntress smiled as she watched them, not wanting to make any sudden movements so as to not scare them off. Tim mentioned not to use flash, so she made sure it was turned off before snapping a few quick pictures. Eli would love to see these. Maybe she would send them to him later while Tim was distracted. There was no need to have to explain how her cell phone worked when they were in the middle of nowhere. Elie watched the passive animals a little longer before turning to Tim. "I think I want a pet deer" she half joked. It would be nice to have one, but she wouldn't have the time nor the resources to take care of it. Not to mention they were forest animals. They'd most likely become sad and depressed if they were to be locked up.

Image

Though work was important, it wasn't as important as Eli. AT least not at the moment. The hunter settled down beside him, shielding himself off from physical contact. Jakub couldn't help but smile a little. He had done a lot of hugging in the course of just about half an hour which meant that Jake had most likely used up all of his touching tolerance for the weekend. That was a bummer, but if it couldn't be done, it couldn't be done. He'd just have to wait until the next time Eli came over. "Did you and your friend make up?" The question pulled him out of his thoughts. He had to think for a moment to register just what it was that he had asked. Once he did, he nodded, a little smile playing on his lips. "She came over yesterday, brought me cookies, we talked, drank...maybe a little more than I should have" he concluded. Just another reason for why what happened with Lucio had been his fault. Had he been sober, things would have gone much differently. His blue eyes stared at nothing in particular as he thought about everything he could have done to prevent it from happening. He could have done something...anything. But he didn't, he let himself be used, just like old times. Letting out a soft sigh, he sank lower into the couch cushions. He didn't want to keep thinking about the subject while Eli was there, but that was proving to be impossible.

Timothy thought the deer were very sweet. They could easily attempt to attack them, but instead they were just avoiding them. Grazing in the grass and mingling with one another. They are very peaceful creatures for the most part. He just watched them, not really making any attempts to talk. He just wanted to appreciate his natural silence and watch the deer. The deer and Elie. Her expression when the deer emerged made him smile. If not by the end of the night, by the end of the weekend she would get Eliana addicted to camping like he was. But for now he was okay with just watching her, watch the deer. Then she turned to him and claimed that she wanted a pet deer. Tim let out an inaudible laugh. That would be a sight to see. I can't fit them in my car. He did not even tell her that it was impossible to take them out of the camping grounds or to take care of them. They just won't fit in the car. You can still name one. These are the same deer I see every time I come up here. He explained. He has not named one since he can't talk using his voice so the deer won't know what its name is.

Image

Elias thought that mentioning his best friend would perk him up a little. Especially if the two of them made up. Elias patiently waited for an answer. "She came over yesterday, brought me cookies, we talked, drank...maybe a little more than I should have" The hunter was trying to imagine a drunk demon. It was rather impossible since Elias has never been drunk. In fact he does not really have more than two glasses of wine over the course it takes him to finish and average sized book. The hunter was assuming that since they both drunk together, they made up. He was not going to ask about it anymore. Him and his best friend were friends again. That is great. There was silence between them again. Jakub got more comfortable on the couch. Elias could not get his arms around Jake the way he was sitting on the couch. So Elias decided to try something else. The hunter adjusted the way he was sitting so that he was laying down, with his head on Jakub's lap. This was another attempt to make him feel better. "You should teach me history." he stated, remembering how old he was.

Elie was expecting a serious answer from Tim, like how it wouldn't be wise to have one as a pet or how it would probably be impossible to look after it. Instead, the answer she received made her giggle. His only concern was not being able to fit it in his car. Elie gave a playful shrug. We could always put him in the front seat, i'm sure he'd love to keep you company she signed with a bright smile before turning back to the animals. Tim mentioned she could name one, which sounded like a better idea. She thought for a moment, looking over all of them, trying to decided which one would be easier to recognize later. One of them stood out. QUieter than the rest and a bit reserved. ELie smiled and pointed towards it. That one reminds me of my brother. So his name shall be Eli she decreed. She made sure to take another picture of it before leaving. This way she could show her brother his cute look alike. Why don't you name one too? she question. Maybe he couldn't call out it's name, but that's what she was there for, to help.

Image

Jake was so focused on his own thoughts, he hardly noticed Eli moving beside him. Next thing he knew, the hunter's head was in his lap. A small smiled spread across his face. He remembered doing the same with him a few days ago, which had made Eli uncomfortable. Clearly he didn't care now. Neither did Jake. In fact, he loved the fact that he was the one taking initiative. "You should teach me history." The demon cocked at eyebrow as he looked down at the man in his lap. Teach him history? He could only guess Eli was referring to his age. He had infact witnessed many historical events, some good and some not so good, but it wasn't like he was a walking encyclopedia. "Don't you have books for that?" he teased with a light hearted smile. Of course, he would still teach him about whatever he could. "What would you like to know?" he asked, thankful to have him here. He would talk as much and as long as necessary just to keep him here.

Eliana said that he could be in the front seat. Timothy shook his head playfully. That was a not happening. The deer would ruin his car. But he thought it was cute that she continued with her desire to have a pet deer. He made a mental note to remember this deer conversation for when they got back to civilization. His attention briefly went back to the deer. Elie took a moment to think about which deer she wanted to name. The deer she chose to name was kind of away from the group. By himself. And she named it Eli. Respectfully so. Some silence. Now he had to name a deer. Well, Eliana was encouraging him to do so. He could not deny her. He thought hard about which deer needed to be named. He easily spotted the smallest one. It was cute and clinging to another one. Timothy pointed and then signed it's new name. Nova. That felt like a good name.

Image

Elias was rather comfortable on Jakub's lap. There was a small part of him that wanted to get up and walk towards the other side of the room, but he was ignoring it. He missed Jakub and Jakub needed him. He can all of tomorrow isolated to make up for this. The demon looked down at him. "Don't you have books for that?" He nodded. Several books. Elias has read them all multiple times. But this was different. Someone from that timeline would be able to recount the events from pure memory. This was pure gold. Elias was kind hoping that his textbooks were wrong about some things. That would make his day. He had to think. America was not really around when Jakub was first around. "Where did you live in your earlier years? America was not really a thing so what was the rest of the world like then?" He asked, actually interested.

Timothy chose the smallest deer of them all. For some reason that made the huntress smile. Nova. That's cute she signed with a smile. The name seemed to fit her perfectly. Elie called their names a few times, wondering if they'd remember them next time they came back. Next time? She was already making plans to come back with Tim and they had barely started. She didn't know what to make of that. Her eyes followed the creature's movements. She was really happy here, and relaxed. And then, as if the universe had heard her thoughts and decided to go against them, there was an erie feeling in the air. Elie couldn't pin it down at first, but it felt familiar. Timothy clearly didn't feel a thing, which could only mean that whatever was going on had a supernatural root. Elie's careful blue eys roamed around the area, but nothing could be found. There was a chance it was just paranoia, but considering the feeling hit her like a runaway train, it was unlikely. She tried to brush it off, at least for now, making a mental note to come back at night while Timothy was asleep. SOmething was definitely off here.

Image

Jakub expected Eli to ask him about some historical events. Maybe the world wars, the Berlin wall being built or taken down, the founding of the Americas, but none of those were correct. "Where did you live in your earlier years? America was not really a thing so what was the rest of the world like then?" The demon raised a brow. He was asking about Jake's personal life? Unexpected, but not unwelcome. That's something he could certainly talk about. "Great Britain" he said simply. "I was born and spent a fair portion of my life there" he explained. Jakub had been in many places, but never truly stayed in any. For some unknown reason, he would always return to his roots. Technically he was a Brit, but demons never truly had a nationality. Most roamed the earth in search of pleasure and stayed wherever they felt happiest. "It was all fun and games until those bloody Spaniards ruined it" he sighed. Though he didn't dislike Spain nor it's people, in fact he loved them. Jake had seen too much to be partial to one country or flag. "I moved to France for a while, but the french were so...outrageous, so I went back to England." The demon looked down at the man in his lap, wondering if he was enjoying this at all. He had never really talked about his past with anyone except Verena, and Lucio more or less.

Eliana seemed to approve the name that he had chosen for the deer. Her attention went back to the deer and he was assuming that she was talking to them by her moving lips. Timothy kind of wish he could hear her voice. But he just sat back and watched her call to the deer. Maybe she was attempting to make sure they remember it for next time. Next time? Tim smirked to himself. There would definitely be a next time. After a while, he decided it was time to head back down. He wanted to teach her how to make a camp fire and then make food. Let's head back. he signed. Once she agreed, the two of them took the same trail back down to their camp grounds.

Image

Elias crossed his arms as he laid on Jakub. He was focused in wanting to know about his life before America existed. "Great Britain" That made sense. His accent was thick yet smooth. The hunter enjoyed the sound which only compelled him to get Jake to talk more about anything. His voice was perfect. Too perfect. This is like some weird dream. The demon went on to explain where he lived and how he enjoyed it. Eli managed to keep a straight face when he mentioned the Spaniards. He looked butthurt about it. And laughing would not be appropriate. Based on the textbooks, Eli could picture everything that was going on in his head. It was like he was watching a history documentary with Jakub as the narrator. Then he explained that he went back to England. They made eye contact after his brief explanation. Elias was trying not to look so excited about hearing history from the source. He quickly came up with another topic. "Revolutionary War. Did you dump tea into the harbor or were you trying to give America unreasonable taxes?" he asked. He was enjoyed this very much.

The pair decided to go back to the camp grounds. Elie was relieved, but at the same time, worried. Whatever was lurking around possibly restrained from attacking because she was there, no doubt. Otherwise it might have lashed out at Timothy and severely hurt him or worse. Eliana didn't want to think about that possibility, instead she followed the man back to the camp grounds, hoing that whatever had given her the bad feeling would know what's good for it and leave. Eliana couldn't put her finger on what it was, but it wasn't anything good, that was certain. I'm loving camping so far she signed with a light smile, deciding to take her mind off of the previous subject. She kept her focus on Tim and the road ahead. It was still early and light out, so they'd be safe on the walk back. At least she hoped.

Image

Jakub purposely dramatized the stories for Eli's entertainment, and it seemed to be working. Though it seemed like he was trying not to look amused, he might have thought the demon was serious. "Revolutionary War. Did you dump tea into the harbor or were you trying to give America unreasonable taxes?" A slow smirk spread across his face as he thought about everything that happened during that time. "Who do you think came up with the idea of tossing the tea?" he joked with a mischievous smile. "But everyone misunderstood me. I could care less about Great Britain or the taxes, I just hated the taste of that tea." he emphasized the last part. Very rarely did one come across a Brit that hated tea, but Jakub couldn't stand the liquid. He would much rather have a string cup of coffee or a full glass of wine. "That's the part that history books leave out. The Americans probably hated the taste of the tea as well, that's why they dumped it. Who would drink that?"

On the way back, Timothy was picking up some dry sticks. He did not want to bother Eliana with picking them up. He was capable of handling this simple task himself. He would probably get her to start the fire, that was always fun to watch happen. Of course he would intervene if she felt as though she could not figure it out. Tim managed to catch Eliana signing at him. He smiled brightly. He was holding sticks in his hand so he signed one handed. I'm glad. He signed as slow and as precisely as possible to make sure that he was understood with his one hand. His focus drifted back to the path. He wanted to make sure they were heading the right way. Finally they made it back to the camp grounds and he laid all of the sticks down near the tents. He would have to grab rocks, make a fire pit, and then find his lighter. I'm going to teach you how to make a campfire. he signed to her. First collect small rocks. Then form a circle around the sticks

Image

"Who do you think came up with the idea of tossing the tea?" The hunter smiled a little. That was very interesting. He was trying to imagine Jakub participating in a scandalous affair after the tax on tea. In fact he was trying to contain a laugh. Especially when he started explaining the rest of it. His only reason for even dumping the tea was because it was a bad taste. Elias was having a hard time keeping it together. The smile on his face just got wider. "That's the part that history books leave out. The Americans probably hated the taste of the tea as well, that's why they dumped it. Who would drink that?" Eli actually liked tea. He had it when he had the whole day to himself and he wanted to read. But this was hilarious. The hunter could not help but laugh. Keeping it together had failed. Elias continued laughing at the thought of Jakub starting a war because of his dislike for tea. "Do you know that you started a war?" he managed in between all his chuckling.

Timothy began to collect sticks on the way back. Elie guessed it was for the campfire. Just the thought of making the fire and getting to make s'mores was exciting. The huntress couldn't contain her smile. She was doing a lot of that this weekend. Eventually they made it back to camp and Tim announced that he would be teaching her to make a fire. Elie's eyes grew wide with both excitement and horror. Are you sure that's a good idea? she signed before she began to collect rocks as she was told. Elie and fire never really mixed well. She was good with running, scaling buildings, using hand weapons, even hand to hand combat, but fire was not one of her strong suits. She always tended to overdue it, and she really didn't want to burn down the tent it had taken them so much work to put up.

Image

The more Jakub talked, the more Eli smiled. It made him want to keep talking forever. And then most wonderful thing happened. He laughed. And not a simple chuckle like that night with his sister, but a real, genuine laugh. Jakub decided that was his favorite sound by far. "Do you know that you started a war?" The demon made an odd face, attempting to keep from laughing himself, and put on his best fake thinking face. "Did I?" he said thoughtfully as if he were really trying to remember. "Must have slipped past me...my bad" he couldn't help but smile this time as he looked down at Eli. Half of him was tempted to play with his hair, but the other half restrained himself. He was already on his lap, that was more than he could ask for. "Hey, if it wasn't for me then we wouldn't be here. And who knows, you'd probably be stuck drinking that nasty tea, so you are welcome" his smile grew a little wider as he said this. He didn't know how much time had passed with them just sitting here, but he didn't care. He had nowhere he needed to or wanted to be. Just here.

Timothy was searching his camping bag for a lighter. He knew that he packed one, but he could not remember where he had put it. He made sure to glance over at Eliana every once in a while to make sure she wasn't talking to him. She seemed a bit nervous about making the fire. Tim on the hand could not wait. Teaching someone how to take care of a fire or to bring one to life was just as fun as having the fire. She might be worried about burning something down like their tent, but he was going to be there to make sure that did not happen. Timothy finally found his lighter and then he waited for Elie to be finished rock collecting. Once they were collected he helped her put the rocks in a big enough circle. He dug a bit in the dirt so that the first was sitting in something. Tim put the sticks in the circle. He handed over the lighter and a dry leaf. Set fire to the leaf and place it in the middle of sticks. Then light the ends of some of the sticks. He signed.

"Must have slipped past me...my bad" Elias managed to control his laughing and he was merely chuckling now at the idea of Jakub unintentionally starting a war. Though war was not funny, the cause was. He wondered if he participated in the war or if he just went to his home, proud that he no longer had to drink the tea. "Hey, if it wasn't for me then we wouldn't be here. And who knows, you'd probably be stuck drinking that nasty tea, so you are welcome" The hunter just shook his head playfully. "I actually like tea." he stated simply. "So you actually ruined the American Dream for me." he said playfully. Of course nothing was ruined. There was still wine and he could still have coffee. All wonderful things to drink while reading. "Did you meet the queen? When she was much younger? Like when she was princess?"

Tim seemed to have faith in her, so Elie tried doing the same. Once all the rocks needed were collected, he helped her place them in their spot. She took a step back to watch as he arrange the rest, making some type of hole in the ground and setting the sticks inside. Once that was done, she was handed a lighter and a leaf. Elie stared at the fire starting contraption, wondering if it was safe fr her to have it in her hands before looking up at Tim as he explained to her what to do. She blinked awkwardly for a moment before turning back to the intems in her hand. Light the leaf on fire? She could handle that much. At least she hoped she could. Turning on the lighter on the first try, she let the end of the leaf catch a bit of the flames before placing it in the center. She hesitated a moment before lighting the rest of the sticks as she was told. The huntress just watched in awe as the fire slowly spread throughout the wood, but remained within the circle of rocks. She never imagined fire could be so tame.

Jakub never met many Americans that liked tea, which was one of the main reasons he liked it here. Usually Americans, mainly here in New York, were very big on coffee. Jakub loved coffee. But Eli liked tea, and he wasn't very grateful that Jake ruined that for him. The demon gave a slight shrug and a chuckle. He'd just have to deal with it. "Did you meet the queen? When she was much younger? Like when she was princess?" Jake thought for a moment before smiling. "Elizabeth? Oh she was something special" he teased. He had actually met the queen a few times, though he had no idea who she was then. Just another pretty face in the thousands of faces he had seen in his lifetime. "She told me I have eyes "to die for" or something like that" the demon said, attempted to mimic the woman's tone and gesture. He looked down at the hunter with a half smirk, whom was probably getting a kick out of all this. He probably figured Jakub was embellishing the truth a bit, but most of it was true. "Or did you Victoria, because she was kind of....odd, and that's putting it lightly. Things that books conveniently leave out, you know, maybe I should become a history teacher" he said, almost actually considering it.

Eliana followed Timothy's instructions exactly. When the leaf was placed on pile of sticks, the fire spread towards the wood. Slowly all the sticks were engulfed in flames. It remained in the circle of rocks, just like Tim knew it would. He glanced at the intrigued raven haired girl. She seem highly interested with the fire. Tim was glad that he had given her the opportunity to set the flame. Now she can do it whenever she wanted. Once all the sticks were on fire and there was a steady fire, he handed Elie a skewer. This is for the marshmallow. He signed slowly on one hand. Then he handed her the bag of marshmallows after putting one of the end of his skewer. He rested is in the fire. Not to close to the center, but enough to make sure that it was sticky in the center and brown on the outside. Tim had the chocolate and graham crackers ready on the side.

Image

"Elizabeth? Oh she was something special" Elias could only imagine what it would be like to meet the queen when she wasn't the queen. The hunter was assuming that she was as free spirited and kind as she is now. Probably just as bossy and powerful. She was still royal. Eli had always wanted to meet royalty. Not for the fact that they were powerful, but to learn about their government and how it was run. It's not the same as reading it in his textbook. "She told me I have eyes "to die for" or something like that" Elias smirked softly. He was not going to disagree. Jake's eyes were to die for. They were so bright and full of life. Although, Eli's eyes were also blue it was different looking at someone else blue eyes. "Or did you Victoria, because she was kind of....odd, and that's putting it lightly. Things that books conveniently leave out, you know, maybe I should become a history teacher" Victoria! Elias always thought she was a bit crazy. In fact he would bring her back to life just to talk to her and ask if she had any mental issues. Jake would make a pretty good history teacher despite how unconventional he was. The hunter would attend his seminars. "You can just teach me." he told him. He was the only one that he knows of that was more interested in things about the characters in history than what they contributed. "How many royals were supernatural?" He knew there were a few like King Henry. But there had to be more than that.

Eliana was happy that the entire campsite didn't suddenly catch on fire. Thankfully, Tim was being patient in teaching her how to do things. Eli was never this patient with her, but then again he was never patient with anyone. After a few seconds, Eliana was handed some sort of stick. She stared at it for a moment, wondering if she should know what it was for, but before she could ask Timothy explained. It was for the marshmallow, but what exactly what she supposed to do with it? She glanced at her mentor, who placed one of the white, fluffy objects at the end of the stick and placed it over the fire. Elie finally understood and did the same, placing hers over the fire as well. She wasn't sure how long they were supposed to stay, so she decided to leave it until Tim removed his. Unfortunately the marshmallow decided to catch of fire before then. "Ahh!" she quickly pulled it out, wide eyed, and blew on it a few times until it was put out. It was already too late, the goody was beyond burnt. Elie sighed and looked at Tim. This is harder than it looks

Image

Jakub seriously considered the idea of being a teacher. It definitely beat waiting for jobs to come up and having to look himself to make sure he always had enough money for food and rent. He may be powerful, but the apartment wasn't free. "You can just teach me." The demon looked down at Eli with a half smile. It was certainly fun teaching him, but it wasn't a job per say. "You know, i'm going to need some form of payment for all this information" he joked, his light smile turning mischievous. Of course, he didn't expect anything in return. Eli had already done enough for him today, just by being here. "How many royals were supernatural?" Jakub raised a brow. The question was unexpected. He almost didn't think humans would know about something like that, but then again, hunters were probably taught very differently than regular humans. The demon thought for a moment. How many? That was a good question. "I'm sure you've read about the "Royal Disease" Victoria and her descendants supposedly carried" Jake stated, remembering having read about it somewhere and laughing for longer than necessary. "According to her, she was bit by a wolf, but I think she had been one all along". Warewolf blood or not, she was still a scary creature. "Henry too, of course" he added as an after thought as he tried to recall the rest.

Timothy's marshmallow was looking really good. He had managed not to set it on fire. He did not like the taste of the burnt sugar. It was just bad. He watched Eliana attempt to melt her marshmallow, but it had got on fire. He let out a silent laugh, clearly amused by her reaction to what had just happened. Don't put it so close to the center. he signed, gesturing with his marshmallow, that it should be grazing the side. Once he felt like his marshmallow was good enough he grabbed the chocolate and graham crackers and made the s'more. He immediately handed it over to Eliana. He wanted her to taste a perfect one, before she figured out a make her own. Good I hope? he signed, waiting for her reaction.

Image

"You know, i'm going to need some form of payment for all this information" Jakub's smiled seemed a little devious. There was something about it that seemed the payment was not going to be monetary. Elias was thinking that the demon would want more kisses. But the hunter was not giving him any. At least not right now. Not while he was learning so much about the history he was never apart of. "I'm sure you've read about the "Royal Disease" Victoria and her descendants supposedly carried" The humans though the royal disease was some sex chromosome disease, but all the hunters knew that it was a supernatural thing. This was back before the supernaturals and hunters did not get along. Back then they were close, but there is no supernatural that is safe. Elias focused in on when he brought up the Queen being a wolf. Wolves were quite different back then. Scarier. More territorial. Way more vicious. Now they were at the bottom of the food chain with the demons happily sitting on the top. "History is definitely more interesting when taught by you." He said, referring to everything that the demon has been saying. This is the most the hunter has ever said to Jake. It was just because stuff like this sparked his interest. But once they stop, he will probably go back to his natural responses.

Timothy didn't laugh at her lack of marshmallow making skills like she thought he would, to which she was grateful. It would have been much more embarrassing if he had. In the end the burnt marshmallow couldn't hold on and fell onto the floor with a splat. Eliana glared at it half heartedly before turning to see that she was being handed a s'more, a perfectly cooked and set up one. She smiled slightly and took it, waiting a second before taking a bite. Good I hope?. She immediately nodded. Of course it was good! It tasted better than she expected they would. She finished eating the delicious square before signing out her answer. I think I'm in love she signed with a smile. She looked at her own marshmallow on the floor and decided to try again. Taking a fresh one, she slipped it onto the end of the stick and placed it over the fire like before, but a little further this like, just like Tim had explained.

Image

Jakub was amused by the fact that ELi didn't even seem a little phased by the unconventional history stories he was learning about. It made teaching him all the more fun. "History is definitely more interesting when taught by you." The demon smiled slightly. He might be the only person Jake knew that would be so interested in historical figure's private lives rather than history itself. "Well I will gladly teach you until you're sick of listening to me talk" he chuckled. There was a brief moment of silence. The hunter's curious blue eyes met his own and there was really nothing to be said at the moment. Jakub simply stared, until a knock at the door brought them back to reality. The demon blinked, glancing in the door's direction. Who on earth we be there now? Verena never knocked, so it wasn't her. And Lucio had gotten what he wanted. He wouldn't be bothering Jake for a few days. After removing himself from under his hunter, he cautiously walked through the door, peeking through the peep-hole. A girl he didn't recognize? It could only mean she was here to give him a job. AFter a second of hesitation he opened it up. The girl was a witch, no doubt. She smiled deviously. "I need a demon"

Timothy watched Eliana carefully as she ate the s'more. He had made the best treat possible, in hopes to impress her. And of course allow her the chance to taste the treat without any burnt parts. She seemed content and when she signed he knew that he had done a great job. She loved it. Good. Now we can make even more. Not all of them, since they would be making some tomorrow. Once she was finished, he handed her another marshmallow. This time she was too make her own s'more and figure out her perfect marshmallow to chocolate to cracker ratio. That was the trick to a great campfire treat. Remember. Not so close to the center, or it will catch fire again He signed.

"Well I will gladly teach you until you're sick of listening to me talk" Elias did not think he would ever want to stop hearing him talk. Not just about history. About anything. That was slightly terrifying to him. A man walked into his life and is starting to change everything that makes him, him. He was initiating kisses. Hugging him. Laying on his lap. Even spending the night. Elias was now even talking. And in fact he never wanted to speak again, if that meant Jake would keep talking. The hunter was unsure what to feel or do about what was going on. Especially because he was demon. So many unfamiliar emotions that he would never be able to understand. Right now was good. Later will just have to be dealt with later. For a while the two of them were staring at each other. Silence. That was fine for Elias. Just getting lost in a sea of blue that is Jake's eyes was just as nice. Then there was a knock at the door. Eye contact was broken. Both of their gazes were at the front door. The demon moved from underneath the hunter and decided to investigate. Elias sat up and glanced over to his bag. His gun was in there, but he was not going to make sudden movements. The girl was clearly the witch. Only witches attempt to use demons. He was trying to stay hidden a bit. At least until he thought it was a good time to get his gun.

After trial and error, Eliana finally made a descent s'more. She stacked the ingredients just as Tim had done and examined it for a moment. It looked the same as his, but did it taste the same? She gave it a small bite and immediately decided it was delicious, though his had tasted a little better. Perhaps she needed it to be a little sweeter. Needs more chocolate she signed, deciding to add more to the next one she made. She finished the snack in record time. They were more delicious than she ever imagined they would be. It was funny how something so simple could make her so happy. Just being here with Tim eating s'mores made her happier than she has ever remembered being. Maybe the hunting life really wasn't for her, despite how much she wanted to think otherwise. How many am I allowed to make?. She wanted to have a few more before packing u the ingredients.

The witch, as usual, had come for a demon. Jakub assumed that's what the message from earlier was about. He stepped aside, letting her in. He knew Eli was most likely looking for the opportunity to grab his weapon, but there would really be no need. Witches usually didn't tend to look for trouble, specially with hunters. And the demon Jakub would be handing over to his client would be of a lower rank. JIt should be smart enough to know not to try anything in his presence. "Any specific rank that you need?" the demon asked as he flipped through a small black book. Kind of a profile book of all the different types of demons and their abilities. The witch seemed to be deep in thought, unsure of what to answer, so Jakub handed her the book. She flipped through the pages curiously before stopping at one. "This one is perfect" she stated with a devious smile. Jake nodded, taking the book back, and began to dig around for a small pocket knife. The witch continued to side eye Eli, but didn't say a word. Instead, she inched closer to Jake. [b]"You know I've heard a lot about you...but no one ever told me how handsome you were". Jake's urge to roll his eyes was strong, but he resisted. "Flattery will get you no where my dear, you still need to pay". The witch giggled quietly and stood back to watch him work. Finally, after finding the blade, Jake quickly carved a small figure onto his palm before placing it on the ground. The ground shook a bit, there was a bright light, and finally a demon appeared in the middle of the living room.

Timothy watched her make her s'mores. He had only made one more during the time. He wanted to make sure that she was okay with her marshmallow in the flame. If he was mid s'more while she needed help, it would be hard to help her. But Eliana seemed to be doing alright. Tim was happy to give her this sense of happiness and pride over what she was making. It was good feeling to see her this happy. Especially in nature when she has never really done any of this before. She asked about the amount of s'mores she was allowed to make. Timothy glanced at the half bag of marshmallows. He still had another full bag. There was enough chocolate and crackers to last the car ride back. Enough to make you sick. he joked. Timothy went ahead and started making another one for himself. He usually ate three or four before he felt like he might of had too much.

Image

Jakub let the witch in and Elias was completely confused. This must happen often for the demon to just let her in. The hunter just crossed his arms and disguised all happiness he had early with an apathetic look. He just watched the interaction between the two. He would not interfere if necessary, but he would. So he just watched. "Any specific rank that you need?" Jake was flipping through a book. Eli was trying his best not to seem intrigued. But he was truly curious. What exactly does Jakub do? The witch picked something in the book and Jakub grabbed a knife. Elias miraculously kept his neutral face as the demon carved something into his hand. When the hand touch the ground, a demon appeared in the center of the room. The new demon and the hunter made eye contact. Immediately the two glared at each other. If Elias had his gun, he would have just shot him. "Why is there a hunter?" The demon asked, with a low voice. Elias was ready to get up and get his gun. He just kept his glare on the new demon in the center of the room. But he did not move. Just observing. He trusted Jakub, which is the only reason why this new demon did not have a bullet in the middle of his forehead.

Enough to make you sick. Eliana smiled widely. She really liked that answer. Thankfully, it took quite a bit of sugar to make her even start to feel sick. Her parents always used to say she could probably eat rocks and digest them without a problem. It was times like these when Elie was thankful for her strong stomach. Following Tim's suggestion, she proceeded to make another s'more. This time making sure to roast the marshmallow to perfection. Once that was done, at least as well as she could manage to do it, she built the treat. This time adding twice as much chocolate. The entire thing was gone in a matter of seconds. I love the s'mores but...why do they take so long to make, yet they're gone in less than half a second? she half complained. Perhaps she was just eating them too fast. But it would be nice if they lasted a little longer. With a soft huff, the huntress settled herself down next to the fire. She was beginning to feel tired and didn't see the need to stay standing. She didn't think they'd be going anywhere else anytime soon. Settling down on a log, she patted the pot next to her for Tim to sit.

Image

Jakub examined the demon from head to toe to make sure he was in good condition to work. He looked as healthy as ever. "Why is there a hunter?" Jakub glanced at Eli who was somehow managing not to run for his gun, and turned back to the demon. "Why do you care?" he asked, not expecting him to answer. The demon should just know it was none of his business. "The only thing that concerns you is getting your job done" the blue eyed demon stated firmly as he whipped off his hand. Peter's gaze remained on Eli for a moment with a slight glare, before looking back at him. "You know you can be a real bully sometimes" he complained with a fold of his arms, which Jake brushed off as usual. There was no room for being nice when he was working. He liked to believe that he had completely distanced himself from Sting, but that wasn't the case. Those that come to him with a job didn't come for Jakub, they only came for Sting. "Alright Peter, this is your boss for the next....however long it takes you to do your job so I suggest you do it quickly. You are to do as she says and report back to me with her payment, got it?" Peter nodded, already having heard this many times before, but Jake always felt it necessary to explain for the new clients that hadn't heard it before. "You already know what happens if you don't". The demon nodded once again, a slight gleam of fear in his eyes. Jakub wasn't happy about it, but Sting was bursting with pride. He gestured for the two of them to leave and Peter quickly headed for the door. The witch, however, lingered a little longer. "I'm not trying to get out of paying...but I do want to know if you'd like to take me out to dinner tomorrow night?" she asked, placing a gentle hand on his arm. Jake's lips formed into a smirk before carefully removing her hand. "As tempting as that sounds, I'll pass" he took a step back, watching her give him a small pout. "What, you don't date?" a small chuckled escaped him as he took her by the hand and led her to the door. "Oh I do, in fact, i'm already taken" as they reached the entrance, he opened the door for her and Peter who had been watching silently. "Out".

Timothy and Eliana made many s'mores. Well more Elie than Tim. She seemed to have never satisfied sweet tooth. She was enjoying each one that she made though. At least he was sure that nothing would go to waste. He was sure that everything would be eaten this weekend. I love the s'mores but...why do they take so long to make, yet they're gone in less than half a second? He tried to think of a genuine answer. But it was just like cooking. It took so long to prepare, but it was gone within moments. Maybe thats just how life its. It tastes better when you know you put work in it. he signed as his answer. Knowing that he worked hard to make food, made the food taste so much better. He was appreciating his hard work despite how fast he was eating it. Eliana sat down on a log and gestured for him to sit next to her. There was no hesitation of course. Anything to be close to her. After a while, Timothy could not eat anymore s'mores it was going to make him sick. He put his skewer down. I ate way too many he complained with a smile.

Image

Jakub defended the hunter. But if this random demon kept persisting the hunter would just kill him with a straight face. That is what her does anyway. So he just watched. Jake seemed to take on a scary role. He definitely looked in charge. There was so much authority radiating off of him that the lower level demon didn't argue with anything he was saying. Peter knew his role and he completely understood the consequences of not following. Even the witch knew what would happen if she did not pay in full. It was a rather interesting transaction. Elias of course continued to glare at everyone that wasn't Jakub. Not really concerned with what this whole thing was about. "I'm not trying to get out of paying...but I do want to know if you'd like to take me out to dinner tomorrow night?" Elias would have shot the witch right there. She needs to get her crummy magic fingers off his demon. But he just held the glare, unmoving. He was not going to let anyone in the room assume he was weak. Besides. Jakub was handling. He rejected the witch of course and claimed that he was taken. "Out" Finally. Elias watched them leave. When the door shut, his facial features soften. But he kept his arms crossed and he just looked at Jake. He wasn't even going to say anything. The hunter was expecting an explanation.
