Introduction

Image

Image For centuries, the supernatural has been terrorizing the humans. Killing them for sport or food. Using them as slaves or berating them for pleasure. The stronger the supernaturals felt the more humans died. A society of Hunters formed to kill the supernaturals that were killing or harming humans. As the hunter society started to become widely known among the supernaturals, many of them went into hiding. The human population doubled over without the supernatural population control. But of course a few supernaturals fall through the cracks. There is a war about to break out between Hunters and all Supernaturals. No one is safe anymore. Even the supernaturals that were hiding were now being hunted down.

ImageThe hunter society lives by a code. The code states that "Only hunt those that hunt us." Innocent supernaturals that find other means of food or don't hurt humans are spared. Everyone else is free game. Hunters tend to use various weapons. From automatic weapons to the basic sword. It all depends on the hunter. Only pure iron or pure gold can truly harm supernaturals. To be sure they are dead, they are shot in the head or in the heart for good measure. Among the hunter society is a highly skilled and wise ground of hunters. They are famously known as Moonlight. They are the hunters that deal with the most dangerous of supernaturals. The ones that take out the best of hunters. There punishments vary from torture to death and everything in between. When one of the members of the Moonlight died, it started the war.

Timothy sat next to her and Elie smiled. She didn't know what else to do or say, which was very unusual for her. Something about him made her forget how to properly function as a human being. I ate way too many she giggled a little, not ready to surrender just yet. I'm just getting started she joked before finishing the one she had in her hand. She didn't actually plan on eating anymore or she would be sick. She did have a sweet tooth, but too much of anything was never a good thing. She gave a small sigh and dusted off her hands. Okay I lied, I can't go on any further she signed with a pained expression, wishing she had another stomach to fit more s'mores, but there was always tomorrow. They could make enough to make them sick then. She looked around the campsite. Everything was so green and beautiful, and clean. Even the bugs were going easy on her. Camping wasn't at all like she imagined it to be. In a good way of course. So teacher, any other camping essentials I should know? Like how to keep bears away or something? she was partially joking, but she had heard about bears tearing up camp sites, so it wasn't entirely impossible. Still, Tim must think it was a silly question.

The witch and Peter left without making any more of a fuss, which was good. Jakub didn't want to show his ugly side in front of Eli. The last thing he needed was to scare him away now. After shutting the door he turned back to a very curious hunter. Jake watched him for a moment. Clearly he was waiting for some sort of explanation. The demon wasn't sure what he was to explain, after all, the situation was pretty self explanatory. "Just part of my job" he said casually, making his way back to the couch and taking a seat beside him. "They need a job done, I give them a demon, they give me rent and food money" he explained. There was really nothing else to it. Eli must have known the power of higher ranked demons and their ability to summon other demons. Most used it for evil, Jake just used it as a means to sustain himself economically. No one ever questioned his authority, which meant that more often than not, he was payed in full. When he wasn't, it was because Jakub has made some sort of exception. "And no, I don't know what missions that they are given are" he added. What the witches used the demons for was really none of his business, nor did he want it to be. Honestly, Jakub could probably guess it wasn't for anything noble, but the demons weren't mistreated either, or the witches would have to deal with him. "Once a demon is summoned for them, they're under a specific contract that prohibits them from mistreating or using the demon for more than one job". Despite the fact that most demons were not like him, and were selfish, devious, self-centered creatures, they were still his kind and Jakub would not permit them to be mistreated for no reason. Setting that subject aside, he settle back down onto the couch, letting out a small yawn. Time had flown by, in fact, it was almost dinner time. A microscopic smile formed on Jake's face as he looked by at the hunter. "What are you in the mood for eating tonight?"

Timothy laughed at the idea of Eliana eating until she grew sick. Of course he would take very good care of her if she did. He brought medicine just in case she did. But luckily after she finished the one in her hand, she realized that she was no longer going to be able to carry on. They would have some tomorrow. Probably after he teaches her how to roast a hotdog to perfection. The two of them rested peacefully. Timothy stared into the fire, happy to have a relaxing first camp day. He definitely deserved this after the hectic week he has had. He should definitely start planning these so that he camps once month. Maybe Eliana could join him for all of them. Every now and then he glanced at his camping partner, to be sure she was not attempting to talk to him. So teacher, any other camping essentials I should know? Like how to keep bears away or something? Timothy thought for a moment. A smile came to his face as the idea came across his mind. Now you learn about the stars. Follow me. he gestured towards the tent. The tent Tim was rather special. Once they were inside, laid down with his back on his sleeping back. Looking up, there was a clear top. It was a safer way to look at all the stars without having to watch out for bugs. The tent door was open, so he could still keep an eye out for the fire. What is your favorite constellation? he asked, reading to point it out.

Image

Just as Elias assumed, Jakub gave him an explanation. He listened intently about what exactly had happened. The hunter was just curious. "They need a job done, I give them a demon, they give me rent and food money" That was understandable. Elias kind of wanted to know what kind of work they would be doing. Though he was not on duty this week, if backup was needed for something this with was doing he would have to go. Eliana was too far away to respond to anything. He was just really hoping that whatever it was, would not require Eli to work. "And no, I don't know what missions that they are given are" It was as if Jakub had read his mind. Was he dating a mind reading demon? That would not be good. Elias enjoyed keeping his thoughts to himself. He even keeps it from his sister and Isabelle and only shares when necessary. He was sure that Jake was not reading his mind. Or things would be a bit different between them. Jakub sat back down on the couch and Elias adjusted so that he could look at him. "What are you in the mood for eating tonight?" Tonight? His eyes caught sight of the clock. Between his history lesson and the witch, time has passed by. "I will eat anything." Elias said with a shrug. He literally could eat anything.

Now you learn about the stars. Follow me. Elie blinked in confusion before realizing he was moving into the tent. But how would they watch the stars from inside the tent? She didn't question it out loud, after all he was the camping expert, but she was very curious. Once inside, she settled down next to him and smiled as she notice the clear top of the tent. They could see the sky perfectly. Not to mention they were much more comfortable than sitting on a log. What is your favorite constellation? Elie stared in silence for a moment, not sure what to say in fear of sounding dumb, but she really didn't know a single thing about constellations. "Honestly...I don't know any she confessed, adding an embarrassed smile. Elie tried to tell her about them once, but she has already forgotten what he said. Not to mention she had been busy training. That interested her more than learning. She never imagined that knowledge could have come in handy. She hoped Timothy wouldn't be too disappointed with her.

Image

Eli didn't really ask any more questions after hearing Jake's explanation, which was a relief. The last thing he needed was for him to ask why other demons were so afraid of him. That was something he would rather not even think about. "I will eat anything." Jakub nodded with a slight smirk. "Anything huh? Alright then, snails and frog legs it is" he joked, but said it as if he were serious. He kept an eye on the hunter to watch for his reaction. It would be a hoot if he actually believed it. Without another word, the demon began to scavenge the kitchen for something good to cook. Last time he had made Italian, maybe this time it could be Greek. There were many recipes that Jake had only tried once and never made it again because it would be best to share with someone else. There was also the factor that he was too lazy to make them. Making his final decision, he began bringing out the ingredients and utensils needed for the cooking. He glanced over at Eli, wondering if he had any experience cooking. Making a meal with someone else always resulted to be more fun than doing it on your own. "How amazing of a cook are you?" he questioned, hoping the hunter would say something along the lines of "very amazing" or "pretty good", that way he could easily ask him to join.

Timothy watched Eliana to make sure that she was comfortable in the tent. She seemed settled and amazed at the clear top. He glanced at the fire to make sure that it was not getting out of hand, but he dug the ditch deep enough to keep the flames from spreading. Tim's gaze averted back to Eliana. He was waiting for her to share her favorite constellation that way he could show it to her. Honestly...I don't know any Tim smiled. That was more fun. After his lesson on stars then she could pick one. He taught his sisters about it and they each renamed a star. That's fine. I can just start with my favorite He reassured her, with a charming smile. Timothy looked up at the sky and quickly skimmed the skies. He was looking for Orion. One he spotted the belt, he pointed at it. That's Orion's belt. he started. Pointing towards the right, he gestured to the right where the archer was. And that's his bow. Now connect the rest of the dots. He finished.

Image

"Anything huh? Alright then, snails and frog legs it is" Jakub was joking, but Elias was not. The hunter just shrugged. He has eaten worse before. There have been rough situations when he was on the hunting job. He built up a high tolerance for foods, so that he was able to eat anything. It came in handy with long missions that required him to eat food that was the equivalent of garbage. The demon got up and headed over to kitchen to start cooking. Eli sunk deeper into the couch. He was thinking about which book he should read to pass the time. "How amazing of a cook are you?" Elias raised an eyebrow. The hunter has never cooked anything besides cereal a day in his life. Eliana always cooked for the both of them, since Eli was too busy reading to ever think about eating. And Isabelle took over the mother roll and made sure the twins ate three meals a day. Elias was only in the kitchen to eat, never to make food. On the days Isabelle and Eliana weren't home, he often would not eat. If it was necessary, he would make himself some cereal. If Jakub was looking for a chef, he was looking in the wrong place. "I can't." The hunter stated simply.

Tim decided to start with his favorite, which took a load of her shoulders. She looked up in the direction in which he was pointing to try to make out any shapes in the stars. That's Orion's belt Eliana stared into space for a moment. She was to connect the rest of the dots, but she could not make out anything other than two large, almost triangular shapes. She stared for longer than needed before giving up. I'm sorry, I'm not creative at all. All i see are two kind of diamond looking shapes connected together she explained. She really was awful at using her imagination, maybe because they had been forced to be realistic from the moment they were born. Which was almost ironic, considering she worked in a world most humans only thought of as imaginary. She glanced at him for a moment before trying one more time, but still nothing. She decided to just let him explain instead of making a fool out of herself. Maybe give me a hint. What is Orion?

Image

Eli didn't think about the question for too long. "I can't." he stated simply. At least he was honest. Somehow, in the back of his mind, Jakub expected that kind of answer. He chuckled a little as he began to prepare the meat. "Well then i'll teach you" he suggested. He knew Eli probably wanted to read, he always wanted to read, but what was the fun in that? If he was here, might as well have fun together, Teaching him how to cook could prove to be messy, but messes were always fun. The only hard part was cleaning up afterwards, for which jake usually utilized the help of his tattoos. The demon cleaned his hands off before walking over to the living room and pulling Eli up off the couch. "It's always good to know how to cook, you never know when it will come as a use" he stated as an excuse as he led him back to the kitchen by the hand. Once there he let go and turned to him. "Ever had Greek food before?" he asked curiously, hoping the hunter would say he hadn't. The demon always loved sharing new types of food with others. Usually it's just Vera and Matt, but this time he had a new critic. Of course he never made Vera or Matty help him cook, this was just for pure entertainment.

Timothy waited patiently to see if Eliana could figure out the rest of the constellation. His eyes were trained to see each constellation that he was focus on. Sometimes it would give him a headache, if he just looked up at the night sky since his brain would be attempting to focus on one constellation at a time. But right now his focus was on Orion and Eliana, who was still trying to find the greek hunter. I'm sorry, I'm not creative at all. All i see are two kind of diamond looking shapes connected together He nodded in understanding. Timothy could see the same thing she was, but he could see Orion holding his shield and spear as well. Maybe give me a hint. What is Orion? He could do that. Orion was a greek huntsman. He was a mortal and he was so great that when he died, Zeus placed him among the stars. Timothy signed. He fought with a spear and shield. No one really knows why he was so great as a mortal. He was a giant and just had power surging through him. He concluding, not wanting to bore Elie to death.

Image

Elias was thinking that Jakub was going to deem him useless and continue cooking on his own. The hunter would not mind. That allowed him time to read and keep from getting in the way. "Well then i'll teach you" That was not the answer that Elias was expecting. Eliana and Isabelle had never tried to make him cook and he never complained. He never saw the need. The hunter has read about cooking. He knows about many different foods and even more cooking techniques. But stepping in the kitchen could actually result in a fire and horrible tasting food. Elias did not move from the couch. Jakub came to fetch the hunter. He was pulled to his feet and dragged towards the kitchen. "It's always good to know how to cook, you never know when it will come as a use" Never. If he was with Jake, then he really did not have to cook. He had his demon that would happily make them both food. But he would attempt to learn for his sake. Apparently they were having greek food. Eli does not remember specifically having it, but he could have. "It's fifty-fifty on whether i have had it or not. He was sure that he has never prepared it though. This was going to be an interesting experience. He was definitely going to tell Eliana about it. Hopefully he doesn't burn down the house.

Orion was a greek huntsman. He was a mortal and he was so great that when he died, Zeus placed him among the stars. Eliana watched carefully as Timothy explained the rest. She had heard about this story before. She had heard about many stories of Greek mythology from Eli as well. It was actually one of the few things that interested her in the subject of history. Because to regular humans, these stories were are their category suggested, just myths. But to hunters and those that lived among the supernatural world, it was merely history. She listened as he continued to explain how no one knew why the man was so powerful. The truth of it was, demon hunters existed from way back then. More likely than not, this Orion fellow was a hunter. Or at the very least had hunter blood. Not immortal nor magical, but much more powerful than a regular human being. Elie wished she could share all this with Tim, but it was forbidden. Not to mention he would probably deem her crazy if she suddenly came out and said she was a demon hunter along with the rest of her family who killed supernaturals for a living. Still, the huntress was curious about whether humans even knew or had ever heard of hunters before. Curiosity got the better of her. Who knows? Maybe he was a demon hunter she suggested with a slight smile on her face as if she were joking, just to see how he would respond.

Image

"It's fifty-fifty on whether i have had it or not." Jake nodded. That most likely meant that he hadn't eaten it before. This gave the demon an opportunity to show off. "It's amazing, satisfaction guaranteed" he said with a playful smile. Reaching under the sink, he pulled out a descent sized knife and a cutting board and placed them both in front of Eli. He then handed him a tomato and an onion. "First task, dice those up" he explained. "Can you handle a knife?" he teased. Clearly a skilled hunter could handle a simple kitchen knife, at least he imagined so. But if by any chance he cut himself, Jake would be there to rescue him. Leaving the hunter to it, he began to fix the pot to boil the macaroni. It had been a while since Jake had cooked this particular recipe. He hoped he didn't forget a step or an ingredient or that would be embarrassing. He kept an eye on Eli while he worked, making sure he was still in one piece.

Timothy was glad that Eliana did not seem bored with his explanation. Sometimes Greek Mythology can be quite boring, especially when there is nothing Godly happening. But Elie seemed intrigued. Her brother possibly could have told her all of this. He reads everything and anything. Tim and him have conversations about stuff like this from time to time. Tim does not believe in the mythology, he just finds it fun and interesting. It gives him a reason to look up at the stars and figure out their meaning. Who knows? Maybe he was a demon hunter Tim smiled a tad. Possibly. Hades and his army was always trying to take over Olympus. But I think he fought more creatures than demons per say he justified. Whatever Orion did, it put him among the stars. That was a big deal to the Greek Gods. What's your zodiac sign? Tim asked, trying to remember exactly where the zodiac stars were located.

Image

"It's amazing, satisfaction guaranteed" Elias smiled. He believed him. So far, all the food that the demon has made has tasted like heaven. He was willing to eat whatever Jakub created. But he wasn't so excited to try food that Eli was making. He was sure that it would not taste very good. He watched silently, his station was set up. One knife. One cutting board. One tomato. One onion. "First task, dice those up" That did not seem so bad. As a hunter, he was highly skilled with knives. He knew several techniques that could either kill, injure, or distract an enemy. But this was not an enemy. This was food that he needed to eat. Elias took the kitchen knife and grabbed the tomato. Slowly, he cut it up. He made sure that the pieces were small enough and not to take off his own finger. Once that was done, he took hold of the onion. He cut into it and instantly regretted it. The stench got to his eyes and he started crying. Elias, knew that was going to happen but he did not like the feel. He decided to power through, wiping his tear-filled eyes occasionally. He was really hoping the demon did not make some comment about the tears. It was not his fault.

Tim didn't think her comment was dumb, which was good. Obviously he didn't believe in such things as demon hunters or even the stories of the greek mythology he was sharing with her, but it didn't matter. It's not like she could share anything about that world with him. What's your zodiac sign? Eliana thought for a moment. Zodiac sign...what was that again. It had something to do with the month she was born in, that was for sure, but as far as knowing her "sign" she had absolutely no idea. She never really had time to learn about these kinds of things. I'm not sure...I was born in September, on the twentyfirst, the official first day of my favorite season she told him, hoping he could figure out her zodiac sign for her.

Image

Eli got to work and so did Jake, but continued to keep an eye on him to make sure all was going well. He seemed to be handling the knife just fine. He chopped up the tomato like a pro. Maybe he didn't need to be monitored after all. The demon left the macaroni to boil and turned to work on the ground beef. Though the dish was easy, there were a lot of steps involved in making it right. "Maybe if you don't do too bad you could cook this for your sister" he suggested and also teased a little. That was most likely not going to happen. The demon looked up to see how much more to go Eli had, but was surprised by what he saw.Was he crying? He definitely was, but why? Jake stared in both confusion adn shock. Had he said something that hurt him? "Hey, what's wrong? What's this all of a sudden?" he asked, worry clearly present in his voice. Maybe he had been going through something himself and Jake had been so caught up in his own problem he never even thought to ask.

September 21. Timothy need a moment to think about the date. But now he knew what Eliana's favorite season was. Fall. That was a good season. Not too cold, not to hot. Everything is starting to switch to the pretty red orange color and then fall and cover the ground. It's just a pretty season. Same with spring. That was the season Tim liked most. That was when the stars were at their peak and camping was not a chore. It's a fantastic season. Virgo He signed. The answer came to him as he was thinking about his favorite season. He searched the sky for the constellation and it was not long before he spotted it. Timothy pointed at the group of stars. There were pretty bright. Timothy was grateful for the clear skies. In Greek mythology, Virgo represents Demeter. Goddess of wheat/agriculture. He signed, happy to teach Eliana about her sign.

Image

Elias vowed to never cut another onion even if his life depended on it. His eyes stung and tears were just flowing. He slowed his cutting, since he couldn't really see. For a moment, Jakub did not notice. He made a joke about cooking this for his sister. Elias smirked a tad. That was never going to happen. That required cutting this onion and he had just vowed to never do that again. There was some silence and the hunter was almost done cutting the cursed vegetable. "Hey, what's wrong? What's this all of a sudden?" Elias stopped cutting to address the worry. "It's the onion. It has a chemical that both irritates the eye and stimulates tear production." he said setting the knife down. He had managed to get through it, but his eyes were still hurting. Clearly demons were unaffected by small stuff like this. Another downside to being human. Onions make you cry. "Done."

Virgo. Eliana blinked. So what did that mean? Was someone's Zodiac sign supposed to reveal something about them. Elie felt like she she should know this, but she just couldn't remember. Timothy pointed to a group of stars, which Elie guessed represented her sign. They were so bright and pretty. In Greek mythology, Virgo represents Demeter. Goddess of wheat/agriculture. The huntress lifted a brow. wheat and agriculture? That sounded nothing like her. But maybe it didn't really matter. Are they meant to tell something about me? Because I don't know the first thing about agriculture she joked, a little smile present on her lips. Though she was curious about what they meant for each person. She didn't know much about these things other than the animals for each year in the Chinese calendar. "What's yours? she asked curiously. Maybe they had the same one.

Image

It really looked like Eli had been crying, but according to him it was a side effect of cutting onions. This is the first Jake has ever seen or heard of this. Of course this was also the first time he was ever cooking with a human being. He'd never been in a situation where this would happen. "Whoa...seriously?" he asked in astonishment. How could just cutting it have such a string effect? The demon picked up the onion, bringing it close to his face, even smelling it a little. Nothing. It was such an odd thing. Now he felt bad for making the hunter do this, but there was no way he could have known. "I guess you won't be making this for your sister then" he chuckled softly, as he set the onion down began to stir the pasta. "I mean you could always leave the onion out...or i could just make it for you again" he said, adding a little wink. Teasing Eli was proving to be more fun the more he did it. "Of course i'm going to need something in return, i keep letting you stay over, I taught you all you wanted to know about history, I've even cooked for you several times already" he paused for a moment to taste the beef. It was okay but still needed some more time to fully cook. "What will i get in return?" he said with a lick of his bottom lip as he turned his attention back to the hunter, devious smirk in place.

Are they meant to tell something about me? Because I don't know the first thing about agriculture Timothy let out an inaudible laugh. He already knew that. Nature and Eliana were not friends. At all. This was the first time she has gone camping in her entire life. Tim was grateful it was with him, but everyone deserves to be in touch with nature. Even if they don't like nature. It's just what the Greek Gods did. The Virgo is what's supposed to describe you. he explained. Then she asked what his was. Taurus. I was born April thirtieth Then he looked up in the sky for his star grouping. Once he found it, he pointed up at it. There I am He signed, with a soft smile.

Image

Just by the shocked look on the demon's face, Elias knew that the idea of onions producing tears was foreign to him. He even brought the onion to his face to emphasize that demons do not have that problem. The hunter rubbed his eyes, hoping that irritant would just disappear. "I guess you won't be making this for your sister then" That he was right about. He managed to stop the crying just in time to catch Jakub wink at him. Was he flirting? That was unnecessary, he was already here with him. No need to be all kinds of charming. "Of course i'm going to need something in return, i keep letting you stay over, I taught you all you wanted to know about history, I've even cooked for you several times already" Not everything about history. There was still so many other things he wanted to know about, but he was not going to ask right now. Next time he would just bring his favorite history book over and have Jakub rewrite it. "What will i get in return?" Elias raised an eyebrow. The hunter had shown up. That was a big play on his part. But if he wanted more than he could try. "I can speak to you in actual sentences, instead of just using body language." he said with a shrug.

Eliana was happy that her sign didn't mean that she was supposed to take up farming or anything of the sort. Tim explained that the sign itself was supposed to describe her. This made the huntress curious. WHat kind of things could a group of stars say about her? That was the first she had ever heard of anything like this. It was certainly capturing her curiosity. Taurus. I was born April thirtieth Elie smiled softly. Tim was born in the Spring. Somehow that seemed to fit him perfectly. There I am she looked from his hands to where he was pointing now. The group of stars he was pointing to were particularly bright, just like him. It all seemed to fit him perfectly. They're so bright and beautiful she signed, almost without thinking. This camping trip was proving to be a lot more relaxing and likable than she thought it would be. WHat kind of things do the stars say about me? she asked curiously.

Image

"I can speak to you in actual sentences, instead of just using body language." The demon stared at the hunter in disbelief. Never could he have imagined meeting someone so innocent after everything he had seen in his lifetime. It was almost comical, in fact, he couldn't help but crack a smile and let out a small chuckle before turning back to his cooking. He almost shook is head in amusement. "I was kidding, I don't need anything in return" he stated. He should have known better that Eli wouldn't catch on to his subtle hints. It was just something he would have to get used to. In a way, it was refreshing. He didn't have to worry about his doing or saying something giving the other person the wrong idea. Jakub was flirtatious by nature, but it didn't always mean he liked or wanted something from someone. Sometimes it was just his way to be. "Alright sue-chef! Add some salt and mash these up" he said, handing him a few pieces of garlic and a thick knife to mash it with. He paused for a moment before leaving him to it. "There's not some chemical reaction caused by this too, is there? Are you going to start laughing uncontrollably or something?" he asked, genuinely curious. The human body seemed to be very strange. WHo knows what kinds of things could affect it.

Timothy truly enjoyed looking at the stars. Even more so, he loved teaching people about them. Being here with Eliana, who was completely oblivious to astrology, was bringing him so much joy he could barely contain the smile on his face. Her genuine curiosity was making everything so much better. For a moment there was silence, and the two of them were focused on the stars. WHat kind of things do the stars say about me? For a moment he had to think. It's not so much the stars describe you, it the sign assigned to those stars. He signed. Tim decided to use her sign as an example to explain what he meant. It's said that Virgo women are beautiful and smart. He signed to her. "Which I personally think applies to you.." he finished with a slight blush on his cheeks.

Image

Elias was confused to why Jakub was laughing. The hunter was being serious. He was offering him genuine conversation instead of what Eli normally does. That was a lot of effort on his part, but he was willing to make the sacrifice for everything the demon had been doing with him. "I was kidding, I don't need anything in return" Instead of arguing, Eli shrugged. He would not be offering that again anytime soon. He was going to marvel in the silence for as long as he could for now. Until talking was completely necessary. The two of them back to the food. Elias was given a new job. Mash the garlic. "There's not some chemical reaction caused by this too, is there? Are you going to start laughing uncontrollably or something?" He rolled his eyes playfully and smirked. "No. Garlic is safe." Doing as told, the sue-chef added salt and started mashing. He was semi enjoying cooking with Jake, but he was not going to tell him.

It's said that Virgo women are beautiful and smart. Elie lifted an eyebrow. Could that be true? She didn't see why Tim would make that up, but she didn't think that's the kind of things the signs would say about her either. She was thinking more along the lines of predicting her future. Which I personally think applies to you.. Eliana could feel her cheeks heat up a bit. Now that was a first. BUt she smiled and thanked him as casually as she possibly could to avoid embarrassing herself even further. There was a moment where neither of them said a word, but just stared up at the bright stars. And then there was a noise. AN odd sound coming from where they had taken their walk. It sounded almost like growling, but Eliana knew better. She casually shifted her eyes towards Tim, debating on whether to tell him or not. WHat was she supposed to say? But she couldn't just sit around and do nothing. And then there was that feeling again, the same thing she felt when they were at the clearing with adear. No doubt about it, there was something very unwanted hanging around. [i]Hey...I'm sorry if it's bothersome but could you remind me where the restrooms are?"

Image

"No. Garlic is safe." That was a relief. Jake let the hunter do his thing while he did his. Most of the ingredients were ready. The meat, the macaroni and everything ELi had cut up. All that was left was to put it in the oven. The chef brought out a large glass, oiling the bottom of it first, before adding in the macaroni, tomatoes, onions and garlic. He layered the ingredients as best as he could remember, leaving the meat in the middle and the thing layer of cheese for last. Popping open the oven, he shoved it in and turned it up to the required heat. "Just fifteen minutes and it'll be done" he assured him, just in case he had been starving. Jakub himself was pretty hungry. He hadn't had breakfast, he hardly even made it through the morning, and being distracted by Eli made him forget about lunch. This was going to be his first meal of the day. He decided to treat Eli to something while they waited. A bottle of wine was briught out, along with two cups, and placed on the counter in between them. "This has been waiting to be eaten since 1953" he announced, pointing to the label. It was about time he opened it. After pulling out the cork, he filled each glass. "Just a warning...I have no idea what this one tastes like".

Timothy, for some reason, expected Eliana to reject his compliment to her. But he was more than happy that she didn't. He really liked her and he had planned on telling her today. But not right. Later. Eventually. She would not be leaving this campsite until she knew how he felt. So that he could show her the stars all the time. Tim was looking up at the stars, lost in his own world were he was confident enough to say how he was feeling. Marveling in the silence. It was always nice just to appreciate the stars and not have to discuss them. He had almost missed Elie asking for something. Hey...I'm sorry if it's bothersome but could you remind me where the restrooms are? For a moment he had to think. It's more of an outhouse. But its right down that path. He then pointed towards the path. If you want, I can walk it. It's kind of dark. He did not want anything bad to happen to her.

Image

Elias watched in silence as everything was thrown together. All the veggies and the macaroni being placed on top of the meat. It looked good already, but it was not even down. The meal disappeared into the oven. "Just fifteen minutes and it'll be done" Elias nodded. He could wait. There was no rush to eat. He would be spending the night here after all. They could have eaten at 3 am and the hunter would not have minded. Jakub rummaged around and brought a bottle of wine. The demon clearly has a thing for wine. But Eli did not mind. All of the wine Jake introduced tasted great. "Just a warning...I have no idea what this one tastes like". That did not bother the hunter at all. Taking hold of the glass, he sipped it slowly. Heavenly. It was not too bitter which Elias liked. "Good." he said, before taking another sip.

It's more of an outhouse. But its right down that path. Eliana glanced in the direction he pointed, a little concerned by the fact it was in the opposite direction of where the sound was coming from, but she'd just have to figure it out. If you want, I can walk it. It's kind of dark. The huntress froze for a moment before shaking her head. That's alright, i'm not afraid of the sark she signed with a reassuring smile. She needed him to stay put. Inside the tent and within the campground boundaries. No demon would be stupid enough to come this close and risk being spotted. After making sure he was going to stay, Elie got to her feet, stepping out of the tent and stretching a bit before heading in the direction Tim had pointed towards. Once she was far enough that he couldn't see her, she slipped through some trees and made a u-turn back in the direction of the sound. The closer she got, the stringer the feeling got. The small cell-phone like device in her pocket began to vibrate. If there had been any doubt in her mind, it was all erased now. There was a demon very close by, waiting on the opportunity when it could take it's victims. Elie was clearly outside of her hunting perimeters, but by the looks of it, there was no hunter anywhere near there and sitting back, arms crossed, while the demon got away with it's bidding was not an option.

Image

"Good." Jakub smiled and took a sip of his own. It was good indeed, so much so that he poured himself another cup. The fifteen minutes flew by in between their drinking wine and exchanging small looks here and there. The oven timer dinged and the chef got to work once again. Pulling out the large glass pot, he sat it on the stove top. After making sure everything was baked to perfection, he took a small amount of herb seasoning and sprinkled it over the cheese. "All done" he announced with a satisfied smile. It had been quite a while since he baked anything like this, it felt good to do so. Pulling out two plates, he cut out a descent sized square for each of them and set them on the plate. After handing Eli his, he grabbed his own plate along with the empty wine glass and the bottle which was now only halfway filled. They headed to the living room while the winged companion on his arm was sent to fetch a couple of water bottles. Jakub used them so much in battle before, that now he had to use them for whatever he could find, or they would start getting fussy. They settled on the couch comfortably and Jakub waited for Eli to take the first bite.

Timothy knew that she could handle herself, he was just worrying as usual. He did this stuff with his sister. Walking around with them in the dark so that nothing bad would happen to them. But if Eliana thought she would be okay, then he trusted her. He watched her walk off before looking back up at the stars. They were so bright and very pretty. After a while, he started signing to himself what he was going to say to his crush. He wanted her to know that he like her and that he wanted them to date. But he did not want to be so forward that it scared her away and he did not want to seem like he was launching himself in the friendzone. After a while, he started to worry about Elie. She wasn't back yet and he wanted to make sure that she was okay. Standing up, he brushed some dirt off of him and headed down the pathway he sent her on. He got towards the outhouse and knocked politely. He left his hand on the door, so that he could feel the vibrations of a knock back. There wasn't one. So he innocently opened the door. To his surprise there was no Elie. Immediately freaking out he started looking for her. He got deeper into the woods then intended and instead of finding Elie, he found another person. Male. Big. Scary. Tim took a few steps back when the man looked at him. His eyes did not scream human. They were pitch black and gave off the look of hunger. The man gave off what Tim was assuming was a growl. It was so loud that the deaf man could feel it. Without another word, Timothy took off running hoping that Eliana was safe.

Image

Elias continued to drink his wine as Jakub started doing some heavy lifting. The food was done in the oven and the chef went to pull the pot out of the oven. He set it on top of the stove. There were some final details that the hunter was not really paying attention too. He just wanted to eat. "All done" Eli smiled a bit. Now he got to eat. Jake piled their plates and Eli took hold of his own. He followed him out of the living room. He took a seat and waited for his wine glass to be refilled. A tattooed bird had returned with water bottles which was nice. Elias did not plan to get drunk. Ever. After they were both happily settled into the couch, Elias took the first bite. He had never had anything so delicious in his life. There were so many flavors going on a once. Sweet. Tangy. Savory. And other words that he was having a hard time coming up with at the moment. Of course, Eli would not be Eli if he let his emotions easily be read. His facial expression remained neutral as he took another bite. He swallowed it with some more of the wine before deciding to say something. "I like it." he said simply before going back to eating.

Elian was almost panicking. The demon was close, close enough that she could feel it's presence clearly. It wasn't a very high ranking one, but any demon was more powerful than a large crowd of humans. If she didn't find it before it got to the campsite, she would surely have a disaster on her hands once she returned. Everything was quiet, almost too quiet, at first. Not two seconds passed when a loud, blood-hungry growl was heard. Surely humans would interpret it as some animal, but Eliana knew better. She took off running in the direction of the growl, only to have a hard collision with something, or someone. The demon? No, it was a human. It only took Eliana a couple of seconds to realize who it was. "Tim! WHat are you doing over here?" she asked out loud, only realizing after that she had to sign it. However, the creature had no time for that. The large, scary figure came running towards them. it's attention, which was directed towards Timothy, was now redirected towards her. "What's a hunter doing among humans?" it growled, almost seemingly happy to see her. Demons could be some of the most cocky bastards in existence. "None of your business". The demon only laughed it off and once again, charged towards them. Almost too easily, Eliana drew the gun packed with silver bullets and drove one straight through the creature's heart. In a matter of seconds, the demon become nothing but smoke and ashes. But it wasn't over, Elie knew better. Demons never traveled alone. SHe had to find the other before it did any damage, but first on the priority list was Tim's safety. Are you okay? she asked, making sure to sign it this time.

Image

Jakub was curious. ELi wasn't saying anything, he cimply took some bites of the food and some sips of wine. Finally, after a long silence, he spoke. "I like it". The demon smiled. No "it's amazing" or "i love it" or any sign of whether he was ruly enjoying it or not, but an "i like i" was more than enough for the demon. Jakub knew this was all the hunter could manage at the moment, and hat was perfectly fine. One day he would get a bigger compliment out of him. "Good" he responded with a side smile and continued to eat in silence, but it wasn't awkward. In fact, it was nice. They exchanged small looks here and here, but for he most part they just enjoyed the food and company. They finished eating in record time. Eli mus have been as hungry as Jake was, or e just ate quickly. The demon got o his feet and took both plates. "More?" he was personally much too full for more, but maybe Eli wasn't. After all, the hunter was much bigger than he. If Eli was too full, it would just have to be saved for later. Or perhaps he would just take it over to Vera and Matty, they always loved his cooking. The demon headed to the kitchen as he waited for the hunter's answer.

Timothy kept running, not really paying attention to where he was running. He has never been more terrified in his life. There was something after him and he was unsure of what to do. He was really concerned about Eliana. If she had run into this thing, something bad could have happened to her. His panic increased by a lot. Then out of no where he crashed into something soft and small. It wasn't long before he realized that it was Eliana. She said something out loud to him, but it was too dark to make out the words. Not that it mattered right now, the creature had caught up to him. Words were exchanged between the creature and Elie. Then out of no where, she pulled out a gun and shot at him. The thing was reduced to ashes. Timothy's heart beat was going 100 miles per hour. Nothing made sense. Why did Eliana have a gun? What was that thing chasing them? Why did she know what to do? His brain was starting to hurt. He had almost missed her signing to him. She was asking if he was alright. He was unsure of how to answer that question. He was terrified beyond belief. He did not harm me if that is what you mean. That mostly described how he was doing. Eliana, what was that thing?

Image

Elias continued to eat with Jakub in silence. It was not uncomfortable at all. It was nice just to have company to eat with. Eli was happy that Jake seemed to feel the same way. There does not need to be conversation every time a meal is being eaten. It's hard to appreciate the meal when there is talking involved. But Elias was able to truly enjoy every flavor that was in his meal. He wanted Jakub to make this again for him. Maybe Eli could learn how to make it for himself and actually cook something for once in his house. The hunter kept these ideas to himself as he finished the food on his plate. His serving was quite filling as was the wine. The host got up and collected the plates and headed towards the kitchen. Elias was definitely too full for seconds. "No thanks." he called out to him. The food could be saved for later. Maybe tomorrow. He was spending the night after all. Eli had almost forgotten that he was doing this. This would be the first time he has every slept over someone else's house. Jake had slept in his bed the other day, but it was mostly to hide. But there was no one to hide here from. Jakub could do whatever he wanted to Elias and no one would catch them. That idea was just rolling around in Eli's mind. He adjusted on the couch, taking up a good portion of it.

To say Tim looked scared and confused would be an understatement, but at the very least he was physically okay. At least that's what he assured Elie. The huntress examined him from head to toe just to verify. He looked alright, but he was wanting answers, and Eliana had no idea where to even begin. She hadn't planned on having to explain any of this to him, in fact, she had hoped she could keep this a secret from him forever. But clearly, that had all changed now. There was no excusing herself out of this one, and she owed him an explanation. I'll explain everything later, but right now we have to go. Our little friend here wasn't alone" she explained as she pulled out a small moon shaped pendent from under her shirt. The tiny crescent moon shaped marble was glowing a dim red color. This necklace tells me when they're near by she explained quickly before taking his hand. First priority was to make sure he wasn't harmed. They made their way out of the woods, almost making it to the clearing, when the light on the pendent began to pulse faster and faster. Instinctively, Eliana positioned herself in front of Tim as the large, human looking figure stepped out from behind a bundle of trees. Without hesitation, the huntress lifted her gun, driving another silver bullet through the creature's heart and watching it crumble to the ground in smoke just as the other one had. She mouthed the words 'come on' before taking hold of his hand once again and leading them both back to the campsite.

Image

"No thanks" The demon nodded, somehow expecting that answer. They had both eaten quite a bit of food, it didn't surprise him that there was no room for more. After making sure all the dishes were clean, Jake's attention went back to the hunter on his couch. He looked comfortable, and somehow that made him smile. Just a little. Drying his hands, he made his way back to Eli, squeezing himself in between him and the armrest of the couch. "How'd you manage to take up ninety percent of the couch?" he chuckled. Granted, the couch wasn't that big to begin with, and if Jake didn't know better he would have thought the hunter did it on purpose. But he did know better. Enough to know that Eli wouldn't come up with something like that, considering how much he dislikes skinship. The demon took the liberty of pouring the last of the wine into both of their glasses and tasked the birdlike tattoo to take the empty bottle back to the kitchen. "So what exactly happened for you to want to spend the weekend?" the demon asked, genuinely curious. It seemed to have come out of nowhere. He wanted to know if there was a specific reason why he was here, or if he just wanted to spend time together. If by some odd reason it was the ladder, Jakub would be one happy demon. But he didn't want to get ahead of himself.

I'll explain everything later, but right now we have to go. Our little friend here wasn't alone" Timothy was holding her to her word. He wanted to understand why she was able to protect them and how she knew what they were. He wanted to know why they even existed. But those questions would have to wait. Apparently, there were more. She gestured to the crescent shaped pendant explaining that it detected when those creatures were near by. Tim nodded in understanding, following her through the woods. He was trying to keep it together since she was protecting them and the last thing she needed to worry about what his mental state. The two of them made it to a clearly and Elie stood in front of Tim, ready to kill whatever it was. And for the second time that night, Timothy witness Eliana kill a creature. It was reduced to ash and the two of them headed back to the campsite. He wasn't sure if there were more or not. Her necklace currently was not glowing and it did not glow when they stepped back onto camp. Tim removed his hand from Eliana's and ran both his hands through his hair. He stopped walking and took a deep breath before signing. Is this a good time to tell me what is happening? Timothy was not going to force her, but he really wanted to know. Their lives were in danger just moments ago and he wants to know why.

Image

The demon managed to get a relatively comfortable spot on the couch, the hunter did not feel the need to readjust."How'd you manage to take up ninety percent of the couch?" Elias just shrugged. But he knew why. He was bigger than Jakub for one thing. And he just need more room for his longer body. Taking up this much room was quite comfortable for him. After a moment, Eli adjusted so that his head was on the demon's lap. Jakub drank the last of the wine and he did not mind. Eli was not going to finish it. He had enough wine for the evening. "So what exactly happened for you to want to spend the weekend?" That was an easy answer. To spend time with the demon. The hunter was not going to say that though. He still was unsure of what exactly he felt for Jake and why he felt the need to spend so much time with him. All he knows is that, Elias likes Jakub and being around him is a good feeling. So in response, Elias just shrugged. "I just wanted too." He stated simply, as if his first sleepover with a demon was not a big deal.

Is this a good time to tell me what is happening? Eliana took a few moments to gather her breath as well as her thoughts, trying to come up with some kind of way to explained what had just happened without sounding like she needed to be put in a mental institute. Explaining the supernatural world to humans was not only difficult, but illegal. Thankfully she didn't have to worry about anyone overhearing them. OKay just...bare with me for a moment she stated first as a kind of warning, just to let him know that what she was about to say might sound a bit...insane. "There are two types of humans...regular humans she signed before pointing to him And hunters she then pointed to herself. Hunters are humans with special strengths that are trained to protect normal humans from creatures like the ones we just saw she watched his expression closely as she explained everything. Either he was speechless or he wasn't believing a word of anything she was saying. Those things may look human, but they're not, and they are very dangerous and their only purpose in life is to kill. She paused for a moment, at a loss for words for what to say next. I'll just...explain it as simply as possible... those things were demons and I'm a demon hunter.

Image

"I just wanted too." Jakub smiled the slightest. That answer along with the fact that Eli was making himself comfortable in his apartment, on his lap, was more than enough evidence that the hunter liked him. EVen if ELi did not realize it yet, Jake certainly did, and it made him happier than it should. "Alright, good enough for me" he chuckled, setting the empty wine glass aside. That was more than enough for the night. Getting drunk was not in the game plan. In fact, nothing was. He had nothing to do, nowhere to be except here. "Well now you have me to yourself for the rest of the weekend. Hat would you like to do?" he asked, genuinely curious. The demon already had a fairly clear idea of what he wanted to do, but didn't plan on acting on it, mainly because it would most likely make Eli run for the hills and he did not want that. He would rather have him here, even if they did nothing. Doing nothing with his hunter was better than doing something on his own.

Tim waited patiently for the explanation. She seemed to need a moment to get herself together. Clearly this explanation was going to take a while. The moment she started talking, Timothy was confused. She was talking about two different types of humans and being protected from creatures that looked human, but aren't. The older male was very confused and his head was starting to hurt. I'll just...explain it as simply as possible... those things were demons and I'm a demon hunter. Demons? Hunters? The supernatural tale of all tales. Demons are supposed to be a myth. Something just to scare children and have something to dress up as for halloween. They aren't supposed to become reality and attack the humans. Tim was just so very confused. They ran into a demon. Two demons. And Eliana, the hunter, had just saved them. That explains why she knew what to do when they showed up. And it explains why they turned to ash instead of just dropping dead. He decided to say something to Eliana, since she seemed a bit concerned after the explanation. I don't know what to say. I'm still overwhelmed with all of this. It's not that he did not believe her, it was just hard to believe.

Image

Jake was satisfied with the Elias' response, which was good. He did not have it in him to explain what came over him to sleep here. He is just saying that it was some random impulse that needed to fulfilled. "Well now you have me to yourself for the rest of the weekend. Hat would you like to do?" Eli as the demon. To himself. All weekend. The hunter did not think that through when he decided to come over here. He was overwhelmed with the idea of what could possibly happen with just the to of them. He had no idea what he wanted to do. Well there was one thought, but there was no way Eli could pull that off. Just laying on Jake's lap was intimate was enough. Kissing him? That was a whole other ball game. So Eli just shrugged. "I have no idea. Do you have any ideas?" He asked.

Tim was at a loss for words, and Eliana didn't blame him one bit. In fact, she was surprised at how calmly he was taking the situation. Had it been her in his place she would have ran for the hills. I'm sorry I hadn't told you before, it's just...we're not exactly allowed to she explained as simply as she could. She didn't want to scare him by telling him she could go to jail for revealing the supernatural world to a human. Not that she was worried about Tim telling anyone, he wasn't that kind of person. That she was one hundred percent sure of. Eli is also a hunter...and so is Izzy she added semi-casually. Perhaps she was telling him way too much, but it felt so good to talk to someone about all this. Someone that wasn't Eli or Isabelle. Leaving a moment of silence between them, she pulled out the hunter's cell, immediately turning on the satellite. The pendant could only detect up to a certain distance, but cell phone would pick up on any supernatural signs of life. It was better to be safe than sorry.

Image

Of course Eli didn't know what he wanted to do. He had clearly decided to spend the weekend just out of the blue. Normally this wouldn't have troubled Jakub, he's a fairly well rounded entertainer. But in this case, it was completely different. Normally he wouldn't have to worry about avoiding skinship. In fact, in most cases he would have to be the one to put up the stop sign. This situation as a whole was entirely new and unknown to the demon, and he was clueless as to how to handle it. He made a face, pretending to be deep in thought for a moment as he contemplated the idea roaming around in his head. "Well, I can think of a few things" he muttered before looking down at the hunter in his lap. Their eyes met and for a moment he had forgotten what he intended to do. After a second of silence, the demon slowly reached down and pressed his lips to Eli's, more careful than he had ever been so as to not scare the man away. Everything was too perfect right now for it to be ruined.
