Introduction

Image

Image For centuries, the supernatural has been terrorizing the humans. Killing them for sport or food. Using them as slaves or berating them for pleasure. The stronger the supernaturals felt the more humans died. A society of Hunters formed to kill the supernaturals that were killing or harming humans. As the hunter society started to become widely known among the supernaturals, many of them went into hiding. The human population doubled over without the supernatural population control. But of course a few supernaturals fall through the cracks. There is a war about to break out between Hunters and all Supernaturals. No one is safe anymore. Even the supernaturals that were hiding were now being hunted down.

ImageThe hunter society lives by a code. The code states that "Only hunt those that hunt us." Innocent supernaturals that find other means of food or don't hurt humans are spared. Everyone else is free game. Hunters tend to use various weapons. From automatic weapons to the basic sword. It all depends on the hunter. Only pure iron or pure gold can truly harm supernaturals. To be sure they are dead, they are shot in the head or in the heart for good measure. Among the hunter society is a highly skilled and wise ground of hunters. They are famously known as Moonlight. They are the hunters that deal with the most dangerous of supernaturals. The ones that take out the best of hunters. There punishments vary from torture to death and everything in between. When one of the members of the Moonlight died, it started the war.

The sunrise? Eliana thought for a moment about having to get up so early just to see the sun. She almost told Tim not to wake her up, but the thought of getting to see the sunrise did sound very nice, especially at a place like this. Elie had only seen the sun rising once, and it was during a battle with some demons, so it's not like she had the chance to enjoy it. "okay" she signs and says after thinking it over a little. Watching the sunset with Tim didn't sound horrible at all. Besides, he had brought her camping so he knew what was best. "Then we're probably running behind on sleep!" she adds, slightly alarmed once she realizes what time it is. After kicking her shoes off she quickly settles inside of the tent, guessing Tim won't be too far behind. Normally at this time of night, Eliana is wide awake, but it had been quite an eventful day and a good solid few hours of sleep sounded amazing.

Image

Jake felt almost relieved that Eli didn't reject his invitation. Once the hunter moved closer, Jakub made sure he was comfortable, not wanting to give him a reason to leave. Not that the hunter didn't have any already, in fact he had many reasons for wanting to get up and never come see him again. But whatever the reason was that was keeping him here, Jakub was grateful for it. "Hmm...that's a tough one" he says, seriously thinking back for a moment. So much has happened in his lifetime it's hard to pinpoint just one thing. "You know everything just kind of starts to blur together at this point" he stares straight ahead for a moment before smiling slightly. "I guess helping tear down the Berlin wall was pretty fun" he says with a slight shrug, as if being part of the event in itself were no big deal. In reality, to a demon that has seen just about everything in his lifetime, historical human events really aren't that big of a deal.

Image

Mathias lets out a sigh as Verena walks past him into the bathroom. She promised to be nicer to the pack, but it wouldn't be the first time she says she's going to do something and doesn't. Mathias hopes she's being sincere this time, for the sake of his pack and the sake of their relationship. As much as he loves her, being lied to time and time again isn't something he wants to be a part of anymore. He lets himself fall down onto the bed and stares at the ceiling, wondering if the pack would make an effort to get along with her at this point in the game. He can feel his tense muscles starting to relax against the warm mattress. A product of a long, stressful day, and his eyelids start to feel heavier and heavier. Before the wolf knows it, he has drifted off to sleep.

Timothy was expecting some kind of rejection to the idea of being woken up early. He would understand. It does take some used too. After a while, Tim would naturally wake up right before sunrise whenever he came camping. But he would let Eliana sleep if she really wanted too. But then she agreed and then she looked panic, suggesting that they should head to bed. Tim laughed a bit and followed Elie into the tent after he made sure that the fire embers were put out. He made sure that she was settled and relatively comfortable in the sleeping bag. He then climbed into his own sleeping bag. 'Goodnight.' he signed to her as he settled into his own sleeping bag. It wasn't long before he closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.

Image
Elias listened intently, waiting for Jake to tell him about his favorite part of history. While he was waiting, he was just tried to ignore the fact that he was so close to him. He felt as though the demon could hear his heart beating. Well he could probably do that anyway, but now he wouldn't have to try so hard. "I guess helping tear down the Berlin wall was pretty fun" Elias' eyes grew wide at the idea of even being near the Berlin wall and was almost offended when Jakub admitted it so casually. For a moment he didn't know what to say. He was rendered speechless, but not for usual reasons. When his brain stopped screaming, he found the words. "Why was t so fun? Was it because you got to break something?" Eli asked with a light smile.

Image
Verena sunk down in the bath. She was going to change. She had too. It was the only way to keep from losing another person that she loved. But she was going to lose him anyway once she confessed. Confessing was the only way to make any of this right again. the demoness released a shaky breath and sunk even lower into the tub. It didn't relax her like she though it was going too. Eventually, she got out of the bathtub and wrapped a towel around herself. She drained the water and stepped out in the bedroom. Matty was asleep. Verena made sure to be extra quiet while she got dressed. Making her way over to the wolf, she covered him up with the blanket and then kissed his forehead. She climbed into bed next to him and tried her hardest to go to sleep.

As much as Eliana had enjoyed the sunset, it was now around the time that the early wake up was starting to get to her. The warmth of the morning sun settled against her skin, making her feel a dull kind of exhaustion. As if she hadn't slept in days and she was struggling to keep her eyes open. It was hard focusing on what was going on in front of her, but going to sleep now wasn't an option. Eliana only had a bit more time with Tim left and she wasn't going to waste it sleeping. She focused her eyes on the breakfast cooking in front of them and tried to suppress a yawn, but with little success. Giving Tim an apologetic look she quickly signed. Not used to getting up so early, sorry she said, a light smile on her face as she taste tested the food in the pan. Tim had done most of the work since they arrived, so volunteering to cook them both breakfast was the least she could have done.

Image

The brightness of the morning sun had began to slip through Jake's bedroom curtain, a little strip of light landing right on his face. The demon attempted to wiggle away from it and closer to the source of warmth that was coming from the other side of the bed. In a haze, he struggled to remember who had been in his bed last night. It had been a while since he had slept with anyone into the next morning. It wasn't until he opened one eye, his vision still blury, that everything came rushing back to him. Eli was still sound asleep from what the demon could see, his head resting comfortably on Jake's chest. The demon couldn't help but let out a microscopic smile before deciding to try and go back to sleep. Unfortunately it was proving to be dificult. Going to bed early was not something Jake was accustomed to doing, so when he did he tended to wake up much earlier than usual. He let out a soft sigh and pulled the covers up slightly, not wanting to get up on the chance that he may wake up the sleeping hunter.

As expected, Timothy had woken up before the sunrise. His body clock was in tune with nature and he never got to miss his favorite times of the day. The task at hand now was to wake up Eliana. He looked over to her sleeping peacefully in the sleeping bag next to her. Tim almost didn't want to wake her up, but she was going to love the sunrise. After some persistence, he managed to wake up his camping partner silently vowing to never wake her up this early again. Her sleep was too beautiful and peaceful to disturb a second time. Tim was glad that Eliana had enjoyed the sunrise. It wouldn't have been worth it, if she didn't like it. The sun's rays hit their campsite and was warming Tim's skin. There was some back and forth about who was making breakfast. He gave in since she was insistent on making it. So Timothy sat back and watched as she cooked the food, smiling. 'That's alright. Once you get back home, you can go back to sleep. Or even sleep in the car if you want.' He signed back to her as she finished the food. Tim pulled out the plates and handed one over to Elie so she could serve herself.

Image
Elias doesn't remember much of what happened after they got into bed. There was some conversation and he does remember discussion of the Berlin Wall, but everything after that he was kind of having a hard time remembering. The hunter was just assuming that he was having a weird dream and that it would just go away. He moved closer to the warmth in his bed and tried to ignore the sun rays that bothered him every morning. It wasn't until the warmth moved that he realized that he was not back at his house and that this warmth was not natural. Eli's eyes shot open and he realized that he was cuddled up with some. He immediately pulled away and sat up in bed. The hunter gave a quick glance around and immediately recognized where he was. A sigh escaped him and he looked to Jakub. Elias felt bad for pulling away. He had never slept over another person's house before and he just had a moment of panic. "Sorry." His first words of the morning as he laid back down, though he didn't move much closer to Jake.

Image Eliana smiled at Tim's suggestion to sleep in the car, but once again, she didn't plan on taking it. She was determined to spend every moment with him that she could, fully awake. Taking both plates, the huntress served hers and Tim's food before handing back his. These are special pancakes she said, pointing to the round tarts on his plate. Izzy calls them "conversion pancakes". She claims they're so good they could convert demons back into angels she adds with a chuckle, remembering the first time Isabelle showed her the recipe. The huntress had to admit, they were amazing pancakes. It's her recipe so if they're not that great...i'm sorry. Eliana had only made the pancakes twice before. The first time they were okay, the second time they were even better. She only hoped that, like the saying goes, the thrid time's the charm. She settled down beside Tim with her plate and a jar of Isabelle's homemade syrup that she had brought for this especially, deciding to let Tim try them first before digging in herself.

Image Jakub had almost managed to fall back to sleep when he suddenly felt a jump and his source of warmth was gone. The demon opened one eye to find a startled Eli looking around the room, only to apologize and lay back down just a few inches away from him. Jakub let out a soft chuckle before sitting up and stretching his tense muscles. Clearly someone had had a weird dream. "Good morning to you too" he said with a slight smile. He decided to take a leap of faith and leaned down to place a kiss on the hunter's lips. After all. that's what people normally did when they dated. Before the hunter could protest or respond in any way, Jakub got to his feet, pulling a hoodie over his white t-shirt and headed straight to the bathroom. A few inutes later he came back out ready to work. "Any breakfast in bed requests?" he asked, fully prepared to fulfill them. He'd never gotten to give anyone breakfast in bed and he kind of really wanted to try it. He just hoped Eli wouldn't protest and insist on leaving before breakfast.

Timothy laughed a little bit at her explanation of the breakfast she was making. He didn't think they were going to taste bad. 'I'm sure they taste fine.' He has camped so much that he has experienced really bad meals and have even gone without eating since he forgot to pack food. And eating interesting foods is part of the entire camping experience. In fact, he was even more excited to eat them because he has never had anything like them. Tim took the first bite and chewed slowly. This was definitely and interesting taste, but it wasn't awful. 'It doesn't taste bad.' Tim signed to her, after setting his plate down for the moment. He didn't want her to think the food was bad. He picked the plate back up and went back to eating.

Image
Elias looked over to Jakub and smiled slightly when he was wished a good morning. He knew he should have said it back, but Jakub didn't seem to be expecting to hear it back so he just kept his mouth shut. There was some normal silence between the two and Eli just tried from going back to sleep. The bed was really warm and extremely comfortable. The demon, however, took it upon himself to wake the hunter up with a kiss. Eli didn't even get the change to respond before Jake pulled away and got out of bed. He watched the demon disappear and return in a state of shock. "Any breakfast in bed requests?" Eli's cheeks were a tad shade darker and he just nodded."Pancakes." Pancakes were always his go to breakfast when he would cook for himself. It was really the only thing he could make without help from Eliana or Isabelle. Speaking of those two, he reached over to his bag and pulled out the hunter phone. He called Eliana. He wanted to know what time he had to meet her back at the house. He waited patiently for his sister to pick up. "Eli." He said, as a greeting once she picked up the phone.

Image Elie couldn't tell if Tim was trying to be nice or if he really did like the food. It was a unique taste, but after a few bites it started to taste better and better. Eliana only hoped that would be tha case for Tim otherwise she would never be making food for him again. You can be brutally honest, if you don't like them just say so! I won't be mad, i swear. she assured him and fully meant it. After all, it wasn't her recipe. Assuming she had done them correctly, which she had she decided immediately after taking a bite, then the taste should be kicking in soon. She continued to eat in silence, all the while watching Tim out of the corner of her eyes. Once finished, she set her plate aside, not entirely sure what to do with it. Was she supposed to just throw it away? Really, i need you to tell me the truth because if they're not good then i'll know never to make them for you again she says with a playful smile, but meaning every word. Before Tim could answer, Eliana felt her phone vibrating. She didn't even bother to check who it was, she already had a hunch. "Eli" The huntress smiled. "I know" she answered immediately. "How's the weekend away going?" she asked, deciding not to say anything too specific. Their phones could be bugged.

Image Pancakes? Jakub almost laughed. The hunter could have asked for anything yet he asked for pancakes. Jakub nodded, giving Eli the okay before heading towards the kitchen. If his hunter wanted pancakes then pancakes he would get! Deciding to check his phone before getting to work, Jakub saw several missed calls. Most of them from numbers he didn't recognize, probably looking for him to do some job. Well he was off for the weekend, he decided, so they would all have to wait. He did, however, notice a message from a family name. Lucio. The demon let out a sigh, but felt the relief once he read it. He wasn't requesting his presence for anything, nor did he say he was coming over. From what Jakub could see, the demon was checking in. Probably testing to see if Jake would reply to his message in a heartbeat like he used to. Deciding to ignore it for now, he tossed his phone back on the couch and headed to the kitchen. After pulling out all the ingredients, he got to work on his boyfriend's request.

Elias glanced over to the door where the demon had left still trying to register the kiss he had been given and the fact that he was about to be served breakfast in bed. He wanted to get up and watch Jake cook, but he stayed in bed. The idea of breakfast in bed would be ruined if he got up and went into the kitchen. "How's the weekend away going?" At first he was confused to why Eliana didn't just ask outright how his weekend with the demon was, but then he remembered they were on the hunter phones and if they revealed anything they didn't like they would be in a lot of trouble. "Fine." It was just best not to get into his interesting evening. At least not over the phone. "What time should I meet you at the house?" He asked. To keep up the illusion of having gone camping with Elie and Tim, he needs to come home at the same time as Elie.

Image

You can be brutally honest, if you don't like them just say so! I won't be mad, i swear. Tim smiled a bit at her words and continued eating. It truly wasn't as awful as Elie was making it seem. He just continued eating until he was done. Eliana finished and went back to asking his honest opinion about the pancakes. 'They tasted fine. I promise.' He assured her. Shortly after that, Elie picked up the phone and started talking. He can read lips, but he assumed the call was private and important so he looked away. Standing up, he started cleaning up their campsite that they could head out.

Image Elie was relieved that Eli caught on and didn't say anything revealing over the phone. Had it been up to her, she would have used her regular cell, but seeing as Eli called her on her hunter phone, she figured the former was completely lost with no signal. "What time should I meet you at the house?" The huntress thought for a moment, almost forgetting the fact that they had to be home around the same time. She glanced over at Tim, not even a little ready to say goodbye to him yet, before turning her attention back to the phone conversation. "Umm...I'll just...I'll text you when we decide to leave" she said, hoping Eli wouldn't comment anything on it. She would have to explain to him once she got back that she was no longer a single woman. Normally her brother would object, but seeing as he was practically dating a life-sucking creature, he didn't really have the right to. "So you're okay? I mean...no incidents or anything?" he was vague, but Eli knew exactly what she was referring to. She may not dislike Jakub as much as she did in the beginning, but he was still a demon and he was still much more powerful than the siblings put together. She had a right to be worried.

Image Jakub could hear Eli in his bedroom talking on the phone. He assumed he was talking to his sister. Other than himself, she seemed to be the only living thing he actually made conversation with. Jake thought about the difference between how much Eli spoke to him the first day they met compared to now and almost felt proud of himself. The hunter had gone from saying absolutely nothing to practically starting conversations on his own. With a slight smile on his face, Jake worked diligently to finish the pancakes. He made sure to made them extra fluffy and delicious. He had already made a name for himself with Eli when it came to his cooking, so of course he had to live up to expectations. Once finished, he split up the pancakes onto two plates, giving Eli just a little bit extra. He dressed them up with syrup and chocolate chips and made sure Eli had finished his conversation before heading back to the bedroom. One of his ink birds trailed behind him carrying the drinks. "Tada!" he carefully placed the plate on Eli's lap and took a step back. "I'll let you do the honors" he said playfully, waiting for Eli to take the first bite.

Image There was silence on the phone. He assumed that Elie was either asking Tim when they were leaving or trying to come up with an excuse to stay longer at the campsite. Either way it didn't really matter to him. "Umm...I'll just...I'll text you when we decide to leave" Eli only nodded in response, though he knew that she couldn't see him. "So you're okay? I mean...no incidents or anything?" Eli rolled his eyes. His sister was always so worried. But he was fine. For the most part, he would always be fine. "I'm fine, Elie." He assured his sister firmly. He knew his twin was allowed to worry as a sibling and a demon hunter so he would just accept having to assure her of his safety. "I have to go. Text me." Elias waited for her goodbye and then waited for Eliana's goodbye before hanging up. Almost on cue, Jakub walked in with plates a of pancakes and his tattooed bird carrying drinks. "Tada!" The hunter smiled a bit at the stack of pancakes on his plate and then back at the demon. He was clearly waiting for Eli to eat first. He happily took the first bite. "Good." He said, before he continued eating.

Image Timothy managed to clean up the mess from making breakfast and the campfire. He left the fire going just in case Eliana was cold. Every now and then it got chilly in the morning. Tim was used too it. Seeing that Elie was still on the floor, he decided to sort of wash the dishes with a water bottle. He would wash them when he got home, but this was enough for now. He put them in his bag and then looked over to Eliana. He saw that she was off the phone. He smiled. 'Is everything alright?' He asked. He wasn't sure what the conversation was about, but he just wanted to make sure that Eliana wasn't being summoned back home so soon. There was still some cool stuff he could show her at the campsite.

Image Eli assured her that he was fine, and Eliana was inclined to believed him. He didn't sound like he was in danger needing to be helped. The huntress decided to take his word for it and said her goodbyes. As soon as she hung up, Timothy asked if everything was okay. She smiled, happy that he cared enough to ask, and nodded. "Just Eli checking in" she said simply. No need to go into any more details for now. She noticed his attempt to wash the dishes and smiled a bit but didn't say anything. There was really no way to wash them properly at the moment. She would just help him wash them later. "so!" she said outloud as she got to her feet, knowing that Tim could read her lips. There wasn't really a need to sign every little word. "What''s our next adventure?". The huntress was loving this camping trip and after resting, she was down for whatever else Tim had planned.

Image "Good". Jakub chuckled a bit at Eli's constant attempt to use as little words as possible. It was rather cute. "Good!" he repeated with a bit of emphasis before grabbing his own plate and settling down next to him, making sure to leave him enough space. He took a few bites of the pancakes before speaking again. [color=teal["Is your sister still worried that I might try to kill you?"[/color] he asked, an amused smile on his face. The huntress had kind of given Jakub her approval, but that didn't mean she trusted him fully. The demon didn't blame her. If he were in her shoes, he wouldn't trust himself either. He could hear his phone buzzing from a few feet away. He decided to ignore it once again, at this point he didn't care who it was. He had a limited time with his hunter and he wanted to take advantage of it before it was interrupted.

ImageElias was truly enjoying the bites of pancakes and the comfortable silence that was between them. Jake didn’t let the silence last for long. “Is your sister still worried that I might try to kill you?” Eli nodded his head as he took another bite of the pancakes. He sipped his water and then glanced at the demon next to him. ”She will worry about be regardless..”. Eli decided not to add in the fact that her worry just happens to be increased due to the fact that he was a demon. Jake’s phone was buzzing away in the distance and Eli glanced over to it before looking back at his pancakes. Clearly, Jakub could hear it too but was just completely ignoring. He decided not to bring it up. ”Will you teach me to cook?” The question was quite random, but he never learned. He won’t have Eliana and Isabelle around for long. And it would be nice to cook Jakub a meal every once in a while. He hoped that Jake was willing, if not then he would just give up on the idea.

ImageTimothy was reassured that everything was alright, her brother was just checking in. He nodded to showed that he understood. He was glad that the twins checked up on each other, it meant that they really cared for each other. It also seemed to give Elie peace of mind. She questioned what their next adventure would be and that brought a wide smile to Tim’s face. It meant that she was excited about this camping trip and she didn’t have to go home. ”First we need to put the tent away. Then we can go hiking.” He took a moment to think before signing again. ”Well it’s more a nature walk, but it is a really pretty one. Especially now that the sun is coming up and animals are wandering around.” He re explained. Once it seemed Elie was okay with the plan, Tim started packing the tent. While they were gone, he didn’t want anyone to take their things. But luckily he knew a good hiding place.

ImageVerena doesn’t remember falling asleep, but she hated that she did. She was plagued with the same nightmare as before. After confessing to everything, Matty just left her with no hopes of coming back. Verena woke up immediately and sat up in bed. Her heart was racing and she felt like she was going to have a heart attack. The idea of confessing was stressing her out. But the more she delayed this, the more likely Matty was going to find out from someone else. The worse it was going to be. Glancing over to the love of her life, she saw that he was still asleep. Verena wasn’t sure if he still had work, but she was assuming the answer was no. His wrist wasn’t fully healed yet. She slipped out of bed and quietly left the room. She was going to make them breakfast. She decided that waffles, eggs, bacon, and sausage was the way to go. And it was the best form of apology for last night that she could think of.

ImageBetween bites and a few drinks, Jakub focused more on the hunter than anything else. It was a few seconds of his looking down at his own plate that caused Eli's question to catch him off guard. He blinked expectantly, waiting to see if Eli would say anything else, before letting a subtle smirk play on his lips. "Say no more!" he announced with a clap right after taking his last bite. He chugged down the last of his wine and got to his feet, casually picking up any plates and cups that were being unused. He waited for Eli to finish his bit before taking his plate as well. "Follow me, my young apprentice." he added before turning on his heels and heading to the kitchen, assuming Eli would just follow. It was a rare sight to see a demon who was so particularly fond of cooking, but having to spend his days indoors with nothing else to do, he had to occupy his time somehow and as a lover of food, what better way than learning how to make it. "What would you like to make today?" he asked once Eli caught up to him.

ImageTimothy suggested a nature walk, and as much as Eliana was not fond of nature, she didn't want to ruin his plans. Besides, she hunted demons for a living. She put her life on the line daily against all kinds of vicious supernatural creatures. How bad could a quick hike and a few bugs really be compared to all that. "Sounds like fun!" she signed, but also said it out loud, more so to convince herself than anything else. There was still that eerie feeling in the pit of her stomach at the thought that there may be something lurking. Something waiting to hurt them, but she quickly shoved it to the back of her mind and began to help Tim pick up the tent and the rest of their belongings. Once everything was packed and secure, Eliana turned to Tim with a soft smile before signing. "Lead the way captain"

ImageIt had been a rough night to say the least. Mathias had woken up several times for no particular reason. Each time he glanced beside him to find Verena still sound asleep, re-positioned himself and fell back into unconsciousness only for it to repeat again. It wasn't until around four in the morning that he finally managed to sleep and sleep well. He had fully intended on going to work the next day, especially since his wrist was feeling better. However, once morning came and it was time to get up, his body and mind refused to with all their might. Mathias decided that a day off from work wouldn't be too much of a hassle. The pack could easily cover for one missing body, so he let himself relax once more as sleep took over. It wasn't until a couple hours later that he woke up to the smell of eggs and bacon. His head jerked up to find the bed next to him empty and only assumed Vera was in the kitchen cooking up something delicious. He let out a soft groan, rolled onto his back and pushed himself off the bed. He only bothered to brush his teeth and toss some water on his face to wake himself up before following the smell all the way to the kitchen."Morning."

ImageElias continued to eat his food while he waited for an answer from the demon. He wasn’t entirely sure what kind of answer he was expecting. Either way, it wouldn’t really phase the hunter that much. He had managed to survive this long without cooking a single meal for himself and he is sure that he will continue to survive later in life. ”Say no more!” Eli, however, wasn’t expecting the enthusiasm. It brought a small smile to his face and he nodded to show Jakub that they were in agreement. Elias finished his breakfast and the plate was whisked away. The hunter moved out of the bed and ran his fingers through his hair as he followed Jake to the kitchen. ”What would you like to make today?” The hunter was a bit caught off guard by the question. He hadn’t thought about what he wanted to make specifically, all he knew is that he wanted to learn the art of cooking. Elias shrugged at his boyfriend. ”Something easy. I don’t want to burn your apartment down.” He stated nonchalantly. There was a reason why he did not cook at his own house.

ImageTimothy was trying to think of something else to do in case Eliana did not want to do the nature walk. As much as he loved nature, he knew it wasn’t for everyone. Also, Elie was knew to this and he didn’t want to bombard her, then she would never come back. A bright smile came to his face when she had agreed to it. In fact, she seemed enthusiastic about it. Even if Eliana truly despised nature, he was happy that she was being so open about it. After the campsite and tent was pack up and stashed away, Tim lead Elie away from the camp. ’I promise the walk won’t be too difficult. Also, I think you will like where it leads too.’ He added in with a smile. They got to the path and Tim continued leading them through.

ImageVerena was stuck in her own head, having a complete meltdown. It was a miracle that she didn’t burn anything. She was finishing up the food and plating them when Mathias came down from the bedroom. She smiled and looked to her sleepy wolf. ”Morning. I hope you're hungry.” Vera stuck all of her dirty cooking materials in the sink and then went to take the plates to the table. ”How did you sleep? And how is your wrist? Are you going to work today?” Vera didn’t mean to ask him so many questions at once, but they all kind of just came out.

ImageThe hunter seemed to be in deep thought before answering Jake's question. ”Something easy. I don’t want to burn your apartment down.” somehow he expected that, still he chuckled softly, one hand running through his hair to push it out of his face. "Fair enough" he said before running through his mental recipes of what his hunter could make. Pasta maybe? It was easy enough, and one could never go wrong with pasta. With that thought in mind he clapped his hands before pointing to one of the higher cabinets that he could hardly reach. "So here's what we're going to do." he began "Reach up there and bring down the flower and the measuring cup." As he spoke he moved over to the fridge and pulled out the carton of eggs. "Just wait till your sister sees what a master chief you have become." he teased.

ImageEliana's gaze focused on Tim a bit too long after he was finished signing. She quickly cleared her through and nodded, making sure to respond immediately. "I trust you." and she did, in fact, she trusted him more than most people. Granted there weren't many people in her life that she did trust. The list really boiled down to Izzy and Eli, so to hear her trust the way Tim had was a great feat. Her eyes danced around the path as they walked, which thankfully was neither crowded nor infested with bugs, before to turned to Tim again. "What exactly do you like the most about nature?" she asked not to be judgmental, but rather to true and see things from his perspective. Maybe there were things out there in the world that she was missing out on.

ImageAfter giving Vera a light peck, Mathias sleepily made his way to the table, nodding along to her first question. "Starving." he muttered with a half smile and settled into a chair. He didn't start eating, but rather decided to wait until Verena sat with him. ”How did you sleep? And how is your wrist? Are you going to work today?” Mathias blinked, his brain struggling to register all the questions that were just thrown at him at once. He gave her a half smile and watched as she sat beside him. "Slept okay." was his first answer as he took a bite from the plate in front of him and swallowed before speaking again. "My wrist is okay now...and no I'm not going to work." he eyed his own food for a moment before looking in his girlfriend's direction, eyes round and concerned. "Do you?...Work today, I mean." he knew what he wanted the answer to be, but that didn't mean it was the answer he was going to get.

ImageElias glanced around the kitchen, trying to think about something he could make. He couldn't think of a single thing that he could cook that wouldn't create a disaster. He is never in the kitchen when Isabelle or Eliana decide to cook. He also never bothered to ask them what the dishes were called or if he could help in anyway. Eli was kind of embarrassed at the moment that he couldn't cook anything. Hopefully by the end of the day, he would be able to make something decent. "So here's what we're going to do." The hunter looked over to the demon and focused on what he was going to say. "Reach up there and bring down the flower and the measuring cup." Eli nodded and reached up to where the flour was. He also grabbed the measuring cup and set them on the counter. Elias smirked at the sister comment. "What now?" He asked, trying to figure out what he was making.

ImageTim continued walking, making sure to glance over at Eliana every now and then. He was enjoying being outside surrounded by so many trees and animals. It was his element. It was amazing how much time he has actually spent out here. "What exactly do you like the most about nature?" Timothy took a moment to try and figure out what it was about nature he liked to much. 'I love that you don't need to hear anything in order to enjoy it.' Tim tried to figure out how to explain it even more. 'I can feel the sun, I can smell the plants, and I can touch some of the animals if they left me. Being in nature is one of the few times where I don't feel like being deaf is a disability.' He added with a shrug.

ImageVerena finished setting the table and then sat down across Mathias. She was glad that even though his wrist felt better that he wasn't going into work. She didn't want him to re-injure his wrist. She settled more in the chair and then picked up the fork so that she could start eating. "Do you?...Work today, I mean." Vera shook her head and quickly took a sip of the water next to her plate. "No...I uh...I quit..." She admitted.

ImageJakub watched Eli bring down the materials with ease and couldn’t help but feel a bit jealous. Still he pushed it to the back of his mind and focused on the pasta recipe. ”Okay” he said as he set down the carton of eggs and a wide bowl. ”Measure out nine ounces of that flour and put it in the bowl” he instructed and waited for Eli to do the part before placing a smaller bowl in front of him. With one hand he cracked open an egg and let it fall into the smaller bowl. ”See that yellow thing?” he said half teasing the hunter. Even a non-chef knew “that yellow thing” was called the yolk, but Jakub wanted to have a little fun at Eli’s expense. ”Pick that up with your hands, and switch it from one hand to the other until all the white around it is gone.”. The demon leaned against the kitchen counter as he spoke, giving Eli enough space but staying close enough in case of a disaster.

ImageEliana didn’t know what kind of answer she was expecting out of Tim, but the one she did get left her speechless, Elie always treated Timothy like a regular person, aside from the need to use sign language. She didn’t treat him like a man with a disability, because Tim never carried himself as such. He’d always been a strong person, capable of everything and anything. He never acted like his disability was an obstacle for him, he never acknowledged it as one, until now. Of course in the back of her mind Elie always knew something of that nature had to have some weight on him, but his response made it that much more real. Her eyes searched his features for a moment, hesitant on what to say next, before signing. ”I never thought of it that way…” she paused, taking a moment to just look at all her surroundings, before turning back to him. ”That’s beautiful.”

ImageMathias thought he heard wrong at first, his eyes remaining on Verena’s face a bit longer than necessary, but the look she wore told him she was telling the truth. He blinked, swallowing the small amount of food he had in his mouth. ”You...quit? Really?” conflicting emotions settled into the wolf’s stomach. On one end he was relieved. Relieved that Verena would never have to have anything to do with that job again. On the other he was curious, or rather, concerned. ”Why?” he asked cautiously. He’d never been a negative person, but every worst case scenario passed though Matty’s head as he waited for her to give the answer, most of them involving her something bad happening which would have forced her to leave the job. He picked at his food, too nervous to hear the story to focus on eating.

ImageElias nodded at Jakub for the instructions regarding the flour. He carefully measured out the flour. The hunter was unsure how crucial it was for the measurements to be exact and he would rather not ruin the meal because he was a few measurements off. Eli focused intently on the flour and made sure that nine ounces was poured into the bowl. ”See that yellow thing?” Eli glared for a moment at Jakub before rolling his eyes. He knew that the 'yellow thing' in the egg was called the yolk. He doesn't know how to cook, but he does know basic stuff. ”Pick that up with your hands, and switch it from one hand to the other until all the white around it is gone.” Elias raised an eyebrow as the instruction and was confused why you would separate the yolk from the white part. The hunter just nodded and then began to separate the egg like he was told, taking his time with it so he doesn't mess it up.

Image Timothy wasn't sure what kind of response he was expecting from Eliana. He doesn't like to mention being deaf like as a disability since he didn't live his life that way. He went to a normal university and continued attending classes like normal despite how much more time it takes for him to understand the content. ”That’s beautiful.” Tim smiled at Eliana. 'I have never had anyone say that before' He signed to her. It was an interesting feeling to have someone think that his love for nature was beautiful. Tim looked farther out onto the path and his smile grew bigger. 'We are at the best part of the trail.' He took Eliana's hand and pulled her a bit faster towards the end. When they got there, it dipped off a bit to show a beautiful lake. It had a small waves from the tiny fish that were swimming around in it. Tim let go of her hand in order to sign. 'What do you think?'

Image Verena finished the food that was on her plate and then took a sip of her drink. ”You...quit? Really?” The demon couldn't help but notice the slight shock and tinge of happiness on her werewolf's face. Vera wasn't exactly as happy, but she knew that this was important. She finished drinking her drink and set it aside. ”Why?” Vera glanced down on the floor for a moment, trying to get it together. Her heart was beating out of her chest. She looked back at the love of her life. "It was bad for me, for you, for us..." She started. "I shouldn't of had in the first place, so I got rid of it." She mentioned simply, running her fingers through her hair. The demon stood up and then gathered her dishes to take to the sink.

ImageJakub watched with a smile on his face, a smile he didn't even realize was there, as Eli followed the instructions he was given within questions. He was doing fairly well despite it being his first time. Jake waited until the yolk was fully separated from the egg and pushed over an empty bowl. "Drop that in there and stir in three more full eggs." he instructed, standing near by in case the hunter needed any help. It was odd to see him cook. It was odd to see him do anything besides hunting demons and glaring at him. He moved over, carefully placing a hand over the hunter's to demonstrate how to stir the eggs without spilling anything outside the bowl. As much as this was a new experience for Eli, it was for Jake as well. Never in his long, long life had he taught a hunter how to cook. In his own kitchen nonetheless. "See?" he said after stirring a few times. "Easy peezy."

ImageEliana followed Tim without question. He clearly knew what he was doing, and she trusted him fully. Besides that, his reason for loving nature was more than enough to convince her. Timothy took her hand, making her heart do a weird flip which she promptly ignored, and led her down the path to one of the most beautiful sights she had ever seen. The colors danced in front of her, making her smile a bit. She had been so caught up in the view she almost missed Timothy's letting go of her hand to sign. 'What do you think?' the huntress let a soft smile grace her face before signing slowly to make sure he understood every word. "I love it...i've never seen anything so beautiful."

ImageMathias didn't know what answer he was expecting but the one Verena gave him both satisfied and made him feel a bit guilty. Though he wasn't sure what he felt guilty for, but he always thought Vera loved her job. He didn't want her to leave it on the count of him, but he also didn't want her to be a part of it anymore. Whatever it was. He finished his meal and watched as Vera took the dishes to the sink. AFter a two second pause he stood and made his way over to her, placing a gentle kiss on her cheek. "Thank you." he said before leaning against the counter beside her. "You don't need to work anyways, I can take care of us both." he assured her with the brightest of smiles. He would give her whatever she needed and wanted as long as she didn't go back there.

Image Elias was very focused on the cooking. He didn't want to mess anything up and he also wanted to impress his boyfriend. He wanted to show that he could actually produce a decent tasting meal without ruining the kitchen. The yolk was fully separated and then Jake jumped in to continue giving directions. "Drop that in there and stir in three more full eggs." He nodded and dropped it into the bowel that was out. The demon moved closer and then demonstrated the better way to stir. Eli took over and began stirring the way that Jake had, but much slower and more focused. "Easy peezy." Eli smiled a bit at the sound. It actually wasn't as hard as he thought it was going to be. "Maybe I should scramble eggs forever since I seem to be good at it." He said jokingly, as he continued to stir waiting for his next instructions.

Image Timothy smiled brighter and wider when Eliana admitted to liking it. He was hoping that she would since she doesn't like nature the way that he does. But he wanted to make this camping trip worth and he figured he could best do that by showing her the lake. 'I am glad you like it.' He signed back to her. 'But it gets even better... Tim swiftly removed his shirt and let it drop to the ground. 'We can swim in it, but only if you want to.' He added in. Though he enjoyed swimming in the lake, he didn't want to force Elie to join him.

Image Verena was expecting more questions. She was expecting to be interrogated and judged. She was bracing herself for it during the silence. The demon could even hear her heart in her ears. She was so nervous it was crazy, but years of facing Hunters trains you to hide your true feelings. Vera felt a kiss on her cheek and she was shocked, but she tried to keep it together. "Thank you." She faced her handsome werewolf with some surprise on her face, but then a smile. This whole time she was worried and she had nothing to worry about. "You don't need to work anyways, I can take care of us both." Verena laughed at Matty's toothiest smile. "You don't want me to work at all?" She questioned a bit with some humor to her tone. "What if I did something cute, like be a school teacher or waitress?" she asked. Vera knew that her wolf was big on being the provider in the family, but she couldn't be stuck in the house all day while he worked. "Just something to occupy my time while you are off with your wolves working." She added in.

ImageJakub watched Eli closely until he was done with the eggs. His comment made the demon chuckle, his body resting against the counter, He eyes the ingredients and pushed over the bowl with the measured flower amount. "You won't impress your sister with scrambled eggs." he teased before pointing to the bowl. "Add that to the flower and use your hands to mix everything until it turns into a hard dough." he instructed, though he was tempted to do this part himself. Or at the very least start it off and let Eli finish the task. He had never really thought about all the steps it took to make homemade pasta before. BUt now that he had to teach someone, it suddenly became a bit more complex. Maybe he should have gone with something a little easier for Eli's first time. Not that it mattered now. "Think you can do it?"

ImageEliana had been prepared to walk, and stop to enjoy nature, but she hadn't been prepared to swim. Timothy's suggested caught her off guard. She glanced down at the water, which looked crystal clear and clean, and it was honestly cute hot after the long walk. Still, it had been a while since Eliana had swam, and she had never done it in a river. Well, maybe once in the midst of attempting to get away from a psychotic demon. It wasn't exactly a pleasant swim. She hessitated a bit, eyeing the water again, before nodding slowly. "Okay...let's do it." she added an enthusiastic smile to let Tim know that she really did want to try it out, and she wasn't simply doing it to make him happy.

ImageIf he had to be completely honest, no, Mathias did not want Vera to work at all. Not because he didn't deem her capable, nor because he wanted to be the only one to provide for them. His fear had nothing to do with that. His fear had to do with the fact that Vera was a wanted demon, hunted down by the society. Any false move and they could easily find and kill her. Mathias was not ready to lose her. Not now, not ever. His mouth twisted into a half frown, deciding on whether he should share these thoughts with her or not. "Well...that would be nice." he said a bit hesitant as he stared down at the ground. "I just...wouldn't want you getting hurt. You know..." he raised his line of vision to look at her, hoping she could understand what he was trying to get at without the need of too much explanations.

ImageElias smiled at Jakub's chuckle. He was glad that his joke was appreciated. "You won't impress your sister with scrambled eggs." "She would be impressed with an intact kitchen." He responded back, but he understood what Jake was trying to say. Cooking a real meal will be more impressive than just managing not to destroy a kitchen. Also, it would be nice to impress Isabelle. Though, he couldn't admit to her where he got he skills from since that would result in a disaster. "Add that to the flower and use your hands to mix everything until it turns into a hard dough." Eli finished stirring and nodded at the demon. He poured the mixture of eggs into the bowl of flower. "Think you can do it?" Eli shrugged. "Sure." With those words, Elias stuck his hands in the mixture and began tossing everything together. He did not like the weird sticky feelings as everything combined. And though he was usually good at keeping a straight face, he did allow this feeling to be known on his face. "Why couldn't we mix this with a spoon?"

ImageTimothy was hoping that this surprise worked out. He didn't want her to prepare for swimming, because they best time to swim is when you unprepared. All of his best memories are when he and his family would just end up swimming at any body of water, ruining their clothes. He wanted to make those kind of memories with Eliana. Her silence was making him regret not preparing her first. "Okay...let's do it." Tim smiled brightly at her. 'Alright!' He signed enthusiastically. Tim then removed his pants, leaving him in his boxers, and dropped it next to his shirt on the ground. He then started making his way into the water. It was cool, but not uncomfortable. The water level came up to his chest and the current wasn't strong. 'The water is nice.' He assured her.

Image"Well...that would be nice." Verena raised an eyebrow at her wolf. It still seemed as though Mathias did not want her to leave the house at all, let alone find another job. She was confused to why, he felt this way. "I just...wouldn't want you getting hurt. You know..." Mathias made eye contact with her once again and Vera took a moment to think. He did not know what her other job was like, so she was sure that he wasn't taking about being harmed by that. After a few more seconds, Berserk finally came to the conclusion. "Oh Matty.." Vera lightly draped her arms around his neck and a small smile tugged her lips. "I am a powerful demon and one of the most feared to walk the earth. I won't let some hunters take me away from you." She said to him, trying to make him feel better. "But..." She sighed. "If you really don't want me to work, I won't work." Verena was trying to turn over a new leaf with Matty. That meant actually letting him get his way from time to time.

ImageJakub was somehow expecting Eli's reaction, though he did not expect it to be as amusing as it was. He somewhat succeeded at keeping from laughing, that is until Eli spoke up. "Why couldn't we mix this with a spoon?" the demon let out a loud chuckle. "You hunt demons and n nasty creatures every day yet you can't handle a little bit of egg on your hands?" he teased, his lips settling into a smirk.

"A spoon will never get the job done!" he explained. Reaching over to the sack of flower, be brought out a small handful to spread over the unfinished dough and his own hands. "Let me show you how it's done." he said, trading places with the hunter. He stuck his hands inside the bowl, rolling and stretching the dough out every which way until it was perfectly blended then brought it out onto the counter onto some more flower and continued to beat it until perfect.

ImageEliana was somewhat started when Timothy began to take off his clothes. Of course it made sense that if he was going into the water he had to, but still he somehow felt like this was a new side of Tim she had yet to see. She stood stock still for a hot minute as she watched him make his way inside the water. It wasn't until he began to sign again that she snapped out of her thoughts. 'The water is nice.' She took a moment to asses the situation before deciding it was time to completely let go, at least for the moment. To forget she was a demon hunter, forget everything that troubled her and just enjoy this moment. With that motive in the back of her mind, she did the same as Tim and began to strip down, shoes first, until she was in nothing but underwear, bra and a white camisole she had been wearing under her clothes. "I'm trusting you." was all she said before making her way inside.

ImageMathias mentally analyzed the options Verena gave him. It's not that either job could cause her problems, in fact he would love to see her doing something so sweet as to work with kids, but that didn't change the fact that there were hunters out for her head. She assured, or rather reminded him, just how powerful she was. Something Mathias never truly thought about very often considering she very rarely showed that side to him, and though that gave him a small amount of assurance, that still didn't change the situation. Nothing they said or did could change that now, and by what he had seen, the hunters would not stop until they had her in custody. Or worse. "I know you can take care of yourself Vera..." he began, hoping he could get his point across. "But there are a lot of hunters out there..." he continued, wrapping his arms around her waist, eyes locking with hers. "I don't want you to have to defend yourself unless absolutely necessary." In other words, he didn't want her to have to kill anyone, though he didn't think he could outright say it that way.

ImageElias wasn't actually trying to make a joke about the spoon. He was genuinely curious about why he had to do this with his hand. Though mixing the eggs in his hands was gross, he figured a tool would be much quicker. "A spoon will never get the job done!" Jake knew best. Eli kept working at the mixture, though he was working rather slow. Mostly because he didn't want to keep messing with this anymore and he wanted to wash his hands. "Let me show you how it's done." The hunter happily stepped back and let the hunter take over this job. He moved over to the sink and began washing the, now sticky, egg off his hands. Eli then crossed his arms and watched his boyfriend finish with the dough. "Now what?" There was just a heap of dough on the table and he was unsure of the next steps. He didn't even know what they were actually making. "What are we even making, Jake?" He questioned, realizing that he wanted to know. It might help him anticipate the next steps of the cooking process.

ImageTimothy didn't mean to just stare at her, but he couldn't help it. She had just been standing there at first and then all in the blink of an eye she began undressing. Tim knew that Elie was pretty, but it was completely different underneath the clothes. She was beautiful and the thought alone brought a blush to his cheeks. He glanced away and just waited patiently for her to get into the water. "I'm trusting you." He managed to see her sign that and it brought a smile to his face. He offered out his hand to help guide her into the water. And it was just to let her know that he was keeping her safe. 'I'm glad you got in.' Tim managed to sign with one hand, though the signing was a bit slower than with two hands. It was always more fun to swim with a buddy.

Image"I know you can take care of yourself Vera..." Vera was hoping that the love of her life would be confident enough in her ability to protect herself to let her out of the house. "But there are a lot of hunters out there..." But it wasn't starting to feel that way. Verana could feel his hands move around her waist and she moved a bit closer to him. They locked eyes and she could see that Matty was genuinely concerned. "I don't want you to have to defend yourself unless absolutely necessary." That concern, however, wasn't really for her safety. It was for everyone else's. Mathias didn't want Berserk to kill anyone while she was out and about. Vereana wasn't really sure what to say. She never thought that killing anyone was a big deal, but she was made to think that. Matty was not and valued all the lives around him. There was no winning this one. Not without sounding like a complete monster. Vera sighed and nodded. "Okay Matty. I won't put myself in any unnecessary danger. I promise." That meant no job. No telling lying to Matty about where she was going. Only visiting Jake. And no more killing anyone.

Image"What are we even making, Jake?" The demon smiled, slightly surprised the hunter hadn't asked sooner. Still, he believed in the thrill of surprises, so he decided to hold out on him just a little bit longer. "You'll figure it out soon enough." he teased, though he was telling the truth. Most likely, the hunter would be able to connect the dots after the next couple of steps. After reaching into a nearby drawer, Jake pulls out a small, rectangular box and opens it to reveal some clear plastic wrap. "Wrap this around the dough." he instructs, handing Eli a small square of plastic wrap. While the man gets to work, Jake heads to the fridge and brings two small chicken breasts onto the counter. "help me cut these into squares." he asks, gesturing to the chicken. He can see the uneasy on Eli's face as they work. Surprises are profanely not his cup of tea.

As the demon begins to cup the meat, his eyes wander over to his cell phone laying on the coffee table in the living room. He hasn't spoken to Verena all day and wonders what she is up to and if she is doing okay. Jake makes a mental note to himself to send her a message as soon as he gets the chance. After the fight they had recently, he can't afford to make her angry again.

ImageEliana would be lying if she said she felt one hundred percent comfortable with being in undergarments in front of Tim. Of course Elie knew he wasn't the type to take things too far, in fact he never did anything without asking first. Still, it was more of a personal thing. He always walked around in tights jeans and long sleeved tees. This was all new to her. When the water touched her feet, she couldn't help but wince a bit. It's not that it was freezing, but it was certainly cold to the touch at first. However her body adjusted quickly the further she walked in. She accepted Tim's guide, though the water was clear enough for her to see the rocks at the bottom. She took a moment to process what he signed before smiling in response, and attempted to sign back. Granted she wasn't as good as him at signing with only one hand, so she would be surprised if he understood what she was trying to say. "No...thank you. This is...very fun. Haven't had it like this in long time." she knew her words were butchered but she was somewhat reluctant to let go of his hand.

ImageAt first, Mathias was satisfied with her answer. He smiled and placed a quick kiss on her forehead, though that didn't last long. He couldn't help but feel guilty, like he was being too controlling. Of course that was not his intention, not by a long shot, and he could only hope that Vera knew that. Still, he didn't want to stun her freedom. If the time came where Verena got tired of him, she would get tired of being locked and very easily leave him. Just the though made the wolf's stomach twist in discomfort. He bit his lower lip, pandering his next words. "I mean...You can still go places if you need to." he muttered, lowering his head just slightly. "Just make sure to stay on the down low...at least for now." his eyes met hers, almost pleading at her to understand he only wanted her safety. "If you get bored, we can go on dates." he suggested, feeling a bit silly for it, though it didn't sound like a half bad idea. At least that way he would be with her in case something were to happen.
