Eliana is one of the most strong willed people you will ever meet. She doesn't understand the meaning of giving up and once she sets her mind to something, she won't stop until it's accomplished. Some may call her stubborn, but she likes to call it "passion". She's very honest and opinionated. She will tell someone what they need to hear and isn't afraid to be the bearer of bad news, but she's not heartless or a bitch. She cares deeply about those close to her, specially her brother Elias. She knows he could take care of himself, but she will happily cut down anyone that threatens or mistreats him in any way. Those on her good side will get a charismatic, talkative and passionate friend. Those on her bad side will get absolute he'll, and once she doesn't like someone it's extremely difficult, if not impossible, to change her mind.

So begins...

ImageMathias could feel bulging eyes on him, watching his every move. His piercing blue eyes scanned the sea of people, looking for a familiar face that he couldn't spot. The more whispers and stares he received, the angrier he got. Deep down, the sane part of Mathias, screamed at him to snap out of it. But it had never been that easy. Moving in and out of wolf state was no easy task, even for an experienced alpha wolf. Much less for him, a second in command. His muscles burned with the need to attack, anyone and everyone in sight. He clenched his jaw, sharp nails scraping against the ground. If he didn't get his act together, this would be turning into a blood bath.

"Matty" the familiar voice made the wolf pause in his tracks. He felt a hand slide over his fur and let out a low growl. He was more than ready to strike again, until Verena's face came into view. Her eyes locked with his and realization quickly began to take over/ He had just murdered someone. Something he swore he would never do. He let out a low whine, lowering his head until the restaurant doors were slammed open. Mathias recognized the face immediately and felt the sudden need to run, but instead stood his ground while Verena spoke to the demon. He was not going to be a coward, not this time.

ImageJakub felt fairly proud of himself for teaching Eli such a complex thing as making pasta. Granted he didn't know if had actually taught him anything or if he had just set him up to burn down whatever kitchen the hunter decided to try the recipe in. Either way, he tried. And for what it was worth, Eli seemed to have thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Jake's eyes were now focused on the TV in front of him, starting to feel the tiniest bit drowsy after the heavy pasta, until Eli suddenly spoke. "I need a ride. Do you know this restaurant." Jakub cocked an eyebrow. Why on earth was Eli asking about a restaurant when they had just finished eating. The hunter then turned the phone srcreen so that Jake could read the alert and frowned. A demon attack at a time like this? He continued to scan the message, taking note of the restaurant address. It didn't take him long to register the place, and more importantly who was behind it. "Yeah, I know the place alright..." he muttered. He had half a mind to tell Eli not to go, and let another hunter handle it, but the boy had clearly already made up his mind and there was no way Jake was going to make him run there. He bit his bottom lip, deciding not to give Eli any details, and grabbed his car keys. "Let's go" Jakub followed Eli out of the apartment, making sue the doors was securely locked before climbing inside the demon's car. Within minutes they had arrived at the restaurant. Jakub's eyes immediately fell upon a familiar looking car. So he was there already. The demon let out a heavy sigh before practically forcing himself to step out of the car and and following Eli inside.

The moment the two stepped inside, all eyes fell on them. More specifically, on Jakub. Every demon, witch, vampire and the likes froze on the spot. No one daring to move a single finger. Jake's eyebrows scrunched together as he examined their surroundings, an obvious murder scene painted out in front of him. One demon had even been decapitated. At the center of the room was what looked to be Mathias in his wolf form, icy blue eyes staring right at him, while off to the right was Verena and the last person on the planet he wanted to see right now. "What the hell happened here?". Jake's voice traveled throughout the restaurant. It was so silent, you could hear a pin drop.

ImageEliana couldn't stop thinking about what a terrible idea this was. Tim's encounter with the demons back at the campsite had been more than enough, yet here she was in his car as they drove to the very center of the supernatural world. The huntress was beyond terrified, but what else was she to do? They were in the middle of nowhere. She had no car and no way of getting to the place other than running. The alert had come so suddenly it hardly gave her any tie to think, and something told her that Eli was ether involved or he would be very soon. Not to mention, the moment Tim saw the message he insisted on driving her. Eliana's heart was racing a thousands miles a minute, having no clue what she would be finding when they arrived. Please let Eli be okay, please let Eli be okay. She had been so consumed in the worries that she hadn't even realized they had arrived. She could see some faint bustling inside the restaurant, but not much due to the tinted windows. Without hesitation, she turned to Tim signed as fast as her hands would allow her. "Please wait here, I can't allow you to get hurt."

ImageA bloody mess, that's the only way Jakub could think of describing the scene in front of him. There were demon body parts along with puddles of blood scattered all over the ground. The restaurant goers had not moved a single inch in the entirety of the time he had been here, Mathias was in his wolf form which meant he had been threatened and Lucio was claiming that he and Verena killed inside of what was meant to be Switzerland territory. In all honesty, Jakub didn't doubt Verena was pretty much everything to do with the murders, but he sure hoped she had a good reason. She was claiming it was self-defense, but of course Lucio was not buying it. Not that he ever would. Eli attempted to pull his gun out, which was met by a threat from Lucio. Jakub threw a sharp glare in his direction, promptly ignoring the pat comment that followed, and turned to Eli while placing a hand over the one that held the gun. "Let me handle this..."

ImageAs much as he wanted to kill the bastard Lucio right then and there, he had to get things straightened out first and he didn't want Eli caught in the middle of it all. After taking a quick glance around the room, Jakub pointed a finger towards a warlock that was sitting near the area where Verena was standing. "You. Come here for a second" the creature froze mid-blink, the color instantly draining from his face. "M-me?". Jakub only nodded once, waiting for the creature to follow the order. Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted Mathias getting to his feet and taking a few slow steps until he was standing beside Verena.

Eliana had not hesitated to step out of the car before Tim had any chance of protesting. She really hoped he wouldn't try to follow her. The scene outside the restaurant was normal. There weren't any broken windows, or people running for their lives. It gave her a very odd and terrifying feeling in the pit of her stomach. The moment she stepped inside, she understood why. The place was a mess, covered in blood stains from floor to ceiling, but everyone was still seated in their spots. There were two demons dead, two standing and seemingly arguing, a warewolf, and finally Jakub and Eli. The huntress let out a heavy sigh, rushing over to her brother. "Eli!" he eyes immediately switched to Jakub. Had this been several days ago, she would have immediately blamed him for everything. However, right now she just hoped he could give her answers. "What's going on?".

Image'I'm trying to figure that out." Jakub immediately responded, earning a confused look from the huntress. They were approached by the warlock, whom Jakub interrogated until getting every last drop of information out of him. The creature told the full story from the moment Verena and Mathias walked in, up until he and Eli showed up. Jakub and Eli exchanged a quick glance before the warlock was dismissed. "How many more hunters do you think will show up?" Eliana glanced at her phone for a moment, looking over the messages. There were several asking if they needed backup, but none confirmed that they were coming. Eliana turned her phone to show Jakub the screen. On it was a message written by Eliana herself stating that the situation was under control. "None." she stated. Jakub let a smile slide onto his lips to which Eliana sighed in annoyance. "You're lucky Eli likes you." she muttered, low enough so that only the three of them could hear. With that, she stepped away from the small group of three to face the rest of the restaurant. "Alright, everyone take your food an go home. There's nothing else to see here."

Jakub was clearly not happy with the explanation that Vera and Lucio were giving him. The stories contradicts each other and it was highly believable that the demoness just went out of her way to kill demons. If it had been a week ago, that would have been exactly the case. But Verena never kills in the open. Ever. It is the quickest way to get caught. And Jakub knows that she would never kill in front of Mathias. Ever. So the fact that both of those things happen should have been a red flag for self-defense. She didn't have to kill them, but they were clearly trying to kill her. But explaining that wasn't working. So Jakub recruited some random warlock to explain. And he did.

He explained how the demoness and wolf came in together and got to the table. Then two demons walked up to them and asked them to leave and despite the couple not doing anything else. The wolf tried to defend the two of them and was push out of the way. That is how the fight started. It was how Mathias went from human to wolf and why those demons were now dead on the ground. The demoness retracted her claws and crossed her arms. "Now that we have proven my innocence, we better not be arrested." She glanced over to Elias and he just kind of shrugged. It is hard to convict a demon, when he didn't witness the death. And there were so many supernaturals around that really anyone could have killed them. Though the warlock told the story, who knows if he just lied in order to get away from them all. Eli also made a mental note to ask why everyone in the restaurant was terrified of the three.

Eliana had taken it upon herself to attempt to clear out the restaurant, but everyone was hesitant. The hunters didn't have power here. All of them were terrified that leaving would mean their untimely death at the hands of Berserk, Lucio, and Sting. Verena glanced around. "Well you heard her. Get out!" After that, no one could get out fast enough.

Lucio crossed his arms. "Fine. You are off the hook." He started, glancing back at the two demon bodies. "You're lucky I didn't even like those two demons." Lucio looked over to the hunters and then specifically focused his gaze on Elias, confused by him. "Is there any other information you need or is this restaurant still free to operate under the agreement?" Eli glanced over to his sister and then back to Lucio. "The restaurant is fine." Verena ran her fingers through Mathias fur now that he was next to her. "And us? Mathias can't exactly stay in wolf form forever and I would prefer he shifts back at home." Elias just nodded at her and she smiled. "Oh good."

ImageWhile the hunters and demons talked and worked out their issues, Mathias stood beside Verena silent and still. His blue eyes scanning everyone in the room without so much as moving his head an inch. Undoubtedly, everyone was giving him stares. Normally, Matty would chalk it up to him being in his wolf form, however this restaurant was a place for demons, witches and vampires, as well as wolves like himself. Surely, this wasn't the first time they had seen one. So why the staring? If Matty had to make a guess, he'd said it was due to the fact he had just killed a high ranking demon within minutes. Mathias had to be honest, he never thought he could do something like this, but there's a first time for everything. Still, it's not exactly something he was proud of. In fact, his chest and heart felt heavy. This was something that would undoubtedly weigh on his mind for weeks, probably even months on end.

ImageFor a split second, Jakub was surprised Lucio was playing nice with Mathias and Verena. Verena especially, whom he hated almost as much as he hated Jakub himself. For just a fraction of a second, Jake thought maybe the demon was having a good day, but reality didn't take long to sink in, giving way to dread. He didn't regret assuring his friends were protected, not at all, but a very small part of him wished he had never made that deal. Hell knows what Lucio will ask in return for this, though technically speaking, he didn't do anything. It was Jakub, Eli and Eliana's doing. Had it been other hunters that had come instead of the twins, though, Jake would of had a heavy price to pay. Now, more than ever, he was incredibly grateful to have Eli in his life. The demon turned to his hunter after he and Lucio were finished speaking and gave him a slight smile. "My brave little hunter, you might just be an angel in disguise." he said, keeping his voice low so that only Eli could hear, though he was sure Eliana caught it as well given her eye roll. After giving Lucio a side glance, Jakub turned to Eli once again. "Wait for me outside, I have to have a talk with someone." he then turned to the demon that stood just a few feet away, setting aside the Jakub Eli knew and letting Sting slowly take his place. "Lucio? I need to talk to you in private."

ImageEliana watched Jakub's actions with a bit of suspicion. Yes, she trusted the creature a lot more now than she used to, however something about the way that warlock followed his orders, and the way the rest of the room looked at him like he had their lives in the palm of his hand, made her feel uneasy. She took advantage of the fact that he wanted to speak to this Lucio, whom Eliana recognized as the owner of the restaurant, and gently tapped Eli's arm. "Can I talk to you outside?" she muttered, her eyes screaming concern. She hoped Eli would just comply and follow her. She needed to both voice her suspicions as well as check on Timothy.

ImageVerena wasn't going to stick around this restaurant any longer. She was thoroughly annoyed that this dinner was ruined. And if she didn't get her wolf home soon, he would transform back into a man and be completely naked. Not that she minded, but she would rather keep it to herself. She glared over to Lucio and gave him a small smirk. "For this inconvenience, I am expecting a free meal next time I show up." Lucio glared back, but didn't respond. Vera looked over to her best friend and then to the hunters, particularly Eli, with a small smile. "Thanks for not arresting us. Be good to my Jake or I won't hesitate to kill you next time I see you." The words rolled off her tongue with sincerity. Elias looked back at her and nodded with understanding. Vera lightly took hold of some of Matty's fur and began to guide him out of the restaurant. Once she felt like he was following her, she released her hold and just lightly patted him as they walked to the car. "Matty...you have to turn back before we get in the car...or you have to chase the car home." She said, stopping at where valet had parked their vehicle.

ImageElias smiled slightly at Jakub when he was referred to as an Angel in Disguise. He didn't feel like he had done anything heroic,. He could arrest them. If the witness was truthful, then both the demon and wolf were innocent. They acted to survive. With those other demons dead, there was nothing more that could really be done either way. He was about to ask Jake to take him back to the apartment, but he spoke up first. He wanted to talk to with one of them. Eli just nodded. He couldn't really go anywhere. The demon was his ride and all of his stuff was back there. Then his sister came up to him and silently followed her out of the restaurant. "How did you get here so fast?" His sister was supposed to be in the middle of the woods with Timothy.

Image Lucio could feel the headache that was forming. He needed to clean his restaurant and dispose of the two idiots that dared challenge such a powerful demon. They must have missed the memo. Verena, Jake, and that wolf were off limits. If she hadn't killed them, he would have. Lucio takes his deals very seriously. He watched Berserk leave, a smug look on her face. How he hated that women. What Jake ever saw in her was beyond him? "Lucio? I need to talk to you in private." As much as he would like to probe his pet for questions at the moment, starting with the hunter, he just could not be bothered at the moment. "Not now, pet. I need to clean up the mess your friend made." He said, moving away from him and towards the other dead body that was across the room.

ImageThe entire scene played out so quickly that Mathias struggled to keep up. His groggy mind remained on the bloody scene that had displayed itself in front of him as if he had been watching himself from a distance. He kept his head low, eyes on the ground as he followed Verena out of the establishment. It was quick both inside and out as most customers had already gone home, probably wanting to stay as far away from this mess as possible. His thoughts swallowed him to the point where he almost missed Vera's suggestion. He would have missed it entirely had it not been for her light petting of his fur.

His icy blues watched her in silence, a hint of silence glazing over them as he looked towards the trunk of the car. It had been Verena's idea to keep a change of clothes there for him on the off chance something like this would happen. He was now thankful for that. He gestured with his paw toward the car and waited for the clothes to be brought out so that he could quickly get dressed. Thankfully it was dark, not much to be seen if he changed inside the car.

ImageJacob momentarily ignored the annoyance that came with the nickname Lucio had given him and gently patted Eli's cheek. "I'll be quick." he assured the hunter before turning back to Lucio, the soft smile that had been directed towards Eli now morphing into a scowl of distaste. "I don't think so, Lu" he muttered, bringing back the nickname he once used for the man he thought was the one. He waited until Eli and Elie were outside before continuing to speak, making sure to turn Lucio so he'd have no choice but to look at him.

"We had a deal, so what the hell happened?" he kept his voice as steady as he possibly could. He wasn't there to fight, he simply wanted answers because if Lucio hadn't kept his side of the deal, then Jake didn't have to either. To ensure Lucio didn't try to escape his questions with the excuse of needing to clean up, Jake released a couple of his ink friends and bid them to do the job.

ImageThere was something about that demon that Elie couldn't quite swallow. For whatever the reason, Jakob no longer worried her, at least not as much, but that supposed owner of the restaurant made her skin crawl. She watched cautiously watched him for a moment, not missing the way he spoke to Jakob as if he owned him, and a scary thought came to her. What if this was the man they'd been looking for all along? What if this man, disguised as a peacekeeper, was actually Sting?

"How did you get here so fast?" Eli's voice almost made her flinch, her eyes moving from the demoness and the werewolf just a few feet away to her brother. "Oh, Uh...actually Tim brought me..." she almost whispered, knowing she'd be getting an earful from him about allowing a human into their supernatural affairs. But before Eli could respond in any way, she gestured toward the restaurant with a nod of the head. "Eli...does that demon look familiar to you in any way?" she asked, not bothering to explain who she was referring to. There were only two demons left inside the place, Jakob and this ominous stranger.

Image The demoness waited patiently for Mathias to make some kind of gesture that he understood what she wanted. As amazing and powerful his wolf form was, she could never communicate with him like this. Not really. Wolves speak to each other telepathically and she wasn't blessed with that ability. It didn't matter most of the time since he was usually with his pack when he was like this, but at the moment he was out in the open. With her, nonetheless. His paw hit the trunk of the car and she was relieved that he was planning on changing back now. The only other option was to have him trail the car, but a hunter spot him easily and explaining his change would not produce good results. Vera opened up the trunk of the car and pulled out the spare clothes for him. She was very happy that she had suggested keeping spare clothes for moments like this. Vera gave the clothes to him and she turned around. It wasn't that she hadn't seen Mathias naked tons of times, but she never liked watching the transformation. It looked painful and seeing the love of her life in pain just wasn't something that could easily be swallowed.

Image
Elias stood before his twin with his arms crossed. Not because he was upset with her or closing himself off to her, but it was the most comfortable position for him to rest in. He would have put his hands in his pockets, but his gun is currently preventing that from happening since it was in his holster. Eliana quickly explained that Tim was the one that brought her. Eli let it show on his face how dangerous that was for him. If this had been a more dangerous situation he could have died. This is wasn't what they were here to talk about though. Something more serious. "Eli...does that demon look familiar to you in any way?" She was referring to the taller one that seemed to take command of the room. The one that kept calling Jakub pet. A scowl came to Eli's face. He did not like that demon nor the way he kept referring to his boyfriend in such a manner. The hunter attempted to focus on the familiarity of his face. He nodded at Elie. "But I don't know when or where I remember his face from." He admitted hoping that his twin would have a better idea.

Image"I don't think so, Lu" Lu? Lucio hadn't heard him say that in a long time. Not since they were last together. Jake really wanted his attention. Sighing, he stopped walking and looked to the smaller demon. "We had a deal, so what the hell happened?" He rolled his eyes and walked closer to Jakub. "The deal is not broken. Verena and Mathias were both unharmed and avoided being arrested by hunters." He stated matter-o-factly. Lucio crossed his arms, irritated that Jakub would even think that he would back out of the deal. "I told you. Protecting your whore girlfriend would be hard. She is wanted by both hunters and demons alike. And I do not have control over everyone." If he had control over everyone, Jake wouldn't have left him in the first place. Lucio looked back to the bloody mess on the floor before looking back to the demon. "Now answer me this, pet. Who is that hunter?" It was obvious which one that Lucio was referring too. He could care less about the girl that didn't have much attachment to anyone but to the other hunter. "If you wanted to walk a dangerous line, you could have just stay in my bed." He added in teasingly, not wanted to give off any feeling of jealously and anger that he was currently feeling.

ImageRegardless of how much practice or how long of a werewolf life one has lived, the transformation to and from was always painful. To some more than others. In Mathias' case, he had enough practice to where the pain was just barely bearable. That's one of the main reasons he normally opted to not do it in front of Verena. Appearing weak, like a kicked puppy, wasn't exactly the ideal image he wants her to have of him. He was thankful that she chose not to watch, though his nerves still raged at the thought.

Much to his surprise, this transformation felt like none he'd ever felt before. It hurt, of course, but nowhere near as much as it should have. Perhaps it was the adrenaline of having killed a demon in plain sight that still coursed through his veins or the idea of wanting to look tough in front of the woman he loved. Whatever it may be, he was up on his feet and dressed in record time without so much as a single grunt of pain. Unfortunately, the emotional strain wasn't something the adrenaline could cover up. "Alright...let's go." he muttered before settling into the driver's seat.

ImageEliana's gaze scanned the taller demon's every feature. There was something unsettling about the way he looked at Jakub, but even more unsettling was the feeling that she definitely know his face. Eli voiced her thoughts as to the where and when. In reality, she hadn't a single clue. She was, however, one hundred percent positive of two things. Firstly, that she knew this creature from somewhere. The fact that Eli admitted to recognizing his face firmly supported that theory. And secondly, that he was very bad news.

"Listen Eli...I know I said this about Jake before but I was just worried because of what he is. But this guy...he just radiates trouble" her eyes traveled to the figure once again before continuing. "I don't like him..." As much as it would pain her to admit, Eliana had come to like Jakub. In reality, she never fully distrusted him only distrusted what he was. But this new character, there was something about the way he walked in and took command, the way he demanded answers, the way he spoke to Jake, that just didn't sit right with her. "Lucio..." she muttered the name under her breath, the one Jakub has used for the man just minutes ago. "Does that ring any bells to you?" she asked, lifting her voice enough for her brother to hear.

ImageIt took Jakub every muscle in his body to not talk back to Lucio, but the demon knew that's exactly the reactions he loved getting. Instead, he opted to take in a deep breath and nod as Lucio spoke. Technically speaking, he was right. Assuming he hadn't ordered those demons to attack Verena and Mathias, the situation was out of his hands. Jakub didn't consider Lucio worthy of the benefit of the doubt, but his friends had made a mess and Eli was waiting for him outside the restaurant so arguing would accomplish nothing. "Fine. But I hope the rest of your goons learned their lesson.'

Jakub was finished speaking to Lucio, having had enough of him for one lifetime. However, Lucio wasn't finished speaking with him, and to ensure that, Eli's name was dropped. It took everything in his power to not threaten with ripping him apart limb by limb if he so much as touched a single hair on Elias' head. The demon was already curious enough, and Jakub refused to give him any leads. Instead, he put on a subtle smirk and playfully patted Lucio's right cheek. "That's none of your concern." He had half a mind to just leave, but given that the mess was partially Vera and Matt's fault, Jake allowed a couple of his tattoos to roam off his body and assist with the cleaning of the restaurant as he made his way to the twins. They would make it back to him on their own.

ImageVerena could hear the bones popping into place behind her, but she did not hear him make any noises to show that he was in any pain. Vera knew better though. His transformation was never easy to watch an she usually never had to deal with it. As much as she hated that wolfpack, they really took care of her Matty while he was dealing with his transformation. She wouldn’t have even know what to do if they were just at home and had shifted uncontrollably. Luckily or her, Mathias was a skilled werewolf. He may have some hiccups, but for the most part he has a lot of self control. "Alright...let's go." The demoness was going to offer to drive, but she wasn’t even given the chance. Matty was already in the driver’s seat so she took her place in the passenger seat. The car started up in silence and they were off.

Vera looked over to her wolf, with a slight frown on her face. All the excitement she had felt from killing those demons in the restaurant had left her body. And as much as she would love to relive the moment of how powerful Mathias looked ripping the head off a demon she knew better than that. He was a pacifist. Fighting and killing were things he tried to avoid at all cost, but tonight he had to give in. It saved them both. Verena reached over and gently took hold of one of Mathias’ free hands. She didn’t know how to start the conversation or even help him deal with his emotions, but she wanted him to know that she was going to listen and try her best to make him feel better.

ImageElias glanced over to the restaurant door hoping to see Jakub come out, but he hadn’t. He was still in there talking to the taller demon that looked quite familiar. Both him and his twin agreed on this and yet there was no idea as too why. A distant memory or maybe even just a glimpse of him that was burned into their mind from one of their many hunter expeditions. Eli and Elie have seen so many demons that recognizing him and not being able to place him felt quite normal. "I don't like him..." Elias usually had a witty comeback when it came to his twins and her feelings, but she had a point about this one. Although he seemed harmless and genuinely seemed concerned about what happened in the restaurant, there was a darkness surrounding him that was hard to ignore. Eli shook his head at his twin. He did not recognize the name at all. He was not on any wanted list that he had taken the liberty of memorizing. ”I don’t like him either. And I’m going to get answers.” He wasn’t going to explain how nor ask Elie for any help. ”Stay another night with Tim at his house. That will give me one more night with Jake.” He added. One. He wanted to spend more time with his boyfriend, but two he was going to try and get answers from him. The hunter glanced over again to see Jake finally emerging from the restaurant. Elie hadn’t agreed to the plan, but Eli wasn’t going to give her much of a choice.

ImageThe hunter was a touchy subject. Jakub played it off like he wasn’t anyone that mattered, but that wasn’t the case. Lucio knew better than the press the subject further, however. If there is one thing that he has learned about his pet is that he is not one push. Pushing him, breaks him. And Lucio loves a broken Jakub, but only when he also holds power over him. Breaking him now won’t do anything for him. Lucio watched Jake walk out, leaving behind some tattoos that started helping cleaning up right away. Pulling out his phone he immediately texted his hunter friend for a list of hunters in active duty in the area. Lucio was going to do some research.

ImageMathias' eyes focused only on the road as his mind replayed the scenes from the restaurant. Part of him reasoned with himself, reminding his guilt that the demons attacked first. That if he hadn't killed, they would have killed him first. Or worse, hurt Vera. But the other half, the passive half that never wanted to hurt a single hair on anyone's head, made him feel as low as dirt. He kept silent, even when he felt Vera's hand land on his own. There wasn't anything he could say at the moment, or rather he didn't know what to say. She probably felt proud of him but Mathias' felt an entirely different way. He had sworn long ago, after he first turned, that he would never purposely hurt anyone or anything. He just hoped Verena wouldn't try to celebrate what he'd done. He couldn't stomach it.

The car ride was especially quiet, and eventually, they made it to their apartment. Matias parked the car and let the engine die out before letting his head rest against the seat. It was going to be a long night.

ImageElie was slightly surprised to see Eli take a bit of charge over the situation but disappointed by his answer. Neither one of them knew where they had seen the demon before. They had run into many demons during their short life, and no faces ever particularly stood out unless its owner had done something exceptionally bad. There was something about this demon that made Elie think this was the case. But there were no warrants out for his arrest, no warning to stay away from him. Some things just didn't add up.

"Okay...' she said, eyeing Jake as he slowly made their way back to them. "Just be careful. And by careful I mean, report to me if you find anything about this guy but Imagedon't you dare do anything on your own!" she warned. She knew Jakub was enough to protect her brother, but if this demon was indeed dangerous and needed to be captured it would be strictly hunter business.

"Sorry about that." Jakub's words brought Elie out of her thoughts as she turned to face the demon. She had half a mind to ask him for answers herself but she had to make it back to Tim before anything happened. "Have you phones close" she instructed to both of them, earning a nod from Jakub before leaving. The demon turned to Eli, eyes marked with a bit of concern. "Ready to go?" He hoped Eli wouldn't become curious about Lucio, because the last thing he wanted was for him to be involved with that monster in any way, shape or form.

ImageThe car ride was silent. Neither of them were talking and neither of them were really trying to attempt at conversation. Vera held his hand for the entire car ride, just trying to understand how Mathias could feel. She felt quite relieved that the demons were dead and she was overjoyed that her hands were the cause. But she knew that Matty didn’t feel this way at all. Despite his wolf being a powerful and deadly, he never wanted to hurt a soul let alone murder someone. It took everything she had to push away her Berserk pride and be the caring Verena that Mathias had fallen in love with. All she really wanted to say was that those demons deserved a fate worse than death and that the one the wolf killed was lucky his death was swift, but she held her tongue. The car came to a stop before the house and neither of them moved. The demoness was usually always sure of herself, but she had no idea what to do. She didn’t know how to make him feel better and she was positive that just pretending it didn’t happen wasn’t going to work. A deep sigh escaped her and she pulled out her cell phone. She only had this number for emergencies and she was considering this an emergency.

The phone rang twice before Luke picked up. ”I
” She glanced over to Mathias. She was doing this for him. ”I need your help. Something happened and-” Verena gripped the cellphone. ”No I didn’t hurt him, he is alive. Just come over. He needs you more than he needs me right now.” Luke finally agreed and she hung up. She hated him. Hated that he was more helpful than she was. Hated that she needed to ask him for anything! Verena looked over to Matty. ”Let’s go inside, my love. I will make dinner while we wait for Luke.” She said, making the first move to get out of the car.

ImageElias was really glad that his twin just agreed with him. He was not in the mood to argue with her, nor did he have the time. Jakub was returning and he did not want to openly discuss hunting things with his boyfriend around. He nodded at Ellie to show that he agreed with what she said. As soon as he has information then he is going to message her. This is important. Faces come and go, but this one had a place and he wanted to know why. The hunter turned to Jake and nodded. It was time to go. He followed the demon to his car. ”I can stay another night if you want?” Eli of course wanted to actually spend another night with his boyfriend, but he also really wanted the information. Though he wasn’t going to force it. If Jake didn’t want him, then he would just go home. He didn’t have a good enough lie though for Isabelle if he went home without Ellie, though.

ImageTimothy had no idea what was going on. He remained in the car like Eliana had told him and hadn’t moved from the spot. He kept his eyes on the door of restaurant she disappeared into and just waited patiently. A ton of people left the restaurant, heading off in the various directions. Then after what felt like years, Ellie left with several others. She still didn’t come to the car. She was talking to Eli, but he couldn't read their lips. It was too dark. Eventually Ellie made her way back to the car and Tim looked over her, obviously concerned. ’Are you okay? What happened? Where is Eli going?’ He quickly realized that he signed all of that way too quickly. So he started over, but slower and the most important questions. ’Are you okay?’

ImageMathias eyes were fixated on the pavement and trees in front of him. He could hear Verena next to him, talking to someone on the phone. It didn’t take him long to figure out it was Luke. He’d tried his best to hide his emotions, but clearly not good enough. Verena never liked Luke, that much was clear. The fact that she willingly called for him to come over was a clear sign that he was acting strange enough for her to be worried about him. Part of him wanted to protest. He knew having Luke around made Verena uncomfortable, and he’d rather suffer in silence than to do anything to hurt her. However, he wasn’t given much of a choice. Vera hung up the phone before he could get any word in, and Luke was already on his way. The young wold had no choice but to nod, accepting the help he knew he’d need. He stepped out of the car, waiting for Vera to do the same before locking it. Their small apartment felt much too quiet when they stepped inside. Mathias only made it as far as the couch before taking a seat, his mind still repeating the scenes from the restaurant. Perhaps he was being over dramatic, but this was something he couldn’t just forget.

ImageEliana wasn’t too comfortable with Eli staying another night with Jakob, not because he distrusted the demon. Granted, she had her doubts for a while, but Jake had proven many times that he meant Eli no harm. As far as Eliana was concerned, the feelings were real, and she’d never seen her brother so happy. Her main concern was this new demon that was now edged in the back of her mind, and the thought that Eli might try to face him alone the moment he got any useful information. She could only hope and pray that he wouldn’t be so reckless. Though she wasn’t any better. The moment she stepped back into Tim’s car, she was bombarded with questions. She suddenly felt the guilt of dragging him into something so dangerous. [i)(color=purple]”I’m okay, don’t worry.” she signed, taking a moment to process the other questions. ”Eli is fine too. He’s going to spend the night at his boyfriend’s
she paused, suddenly realizing she might be spending the night with Tim, only this time it wouldn’t be in the woods. She took a moment to breathe before carefully signing her next question. ”Hey...do you...mind if I spend the night with you?” she paused, sudden panic taking over as she realized her wording may not have been the best, and quickly added ”I mean, at your place that is. I- um.” the nerves were clear in the way she moved and smiled, but there was no taking it back now. ”If you’re not cool with that it’s okay though, no pressure!”.

ImageJakob had planned on asking Eli to stay another night, especially after knowing Lucio was curious about him. However, he didn’t expect the hunter to suggest the same. Was he worried? Scared? Maybe he just wanted to spend some more time together. Whatever the reason, Jake wouldn’t turn down his offer. Any extra time he could get with his hunter was golden. ”Haven’t had enough of me yet, huh?” he asked, a flirtatious smile in tow as they settled into Jake’s car. The engine roared on as Jake took. Quick glance around to make sure Lucio wasn’t anywhere in sight before leaning over and giving Eli a quick peck on the lips. ”Stay as long as you want, my dear.”. He let the smirk linger for a bit as he pulled away from the restaurant parking lot and towards his apartment. There was a dark feeling in the pit of his stomach, something that told him to keep Eli as close to him as he possibly could.

ImageVerena had more self control than she realized. Or maybe that was just when she was around Mathias. Either way, she was still in shock that she even managed to get through her phone call with Luke without breaking her phone. It wasn’t that Luke was a bad person, he just hated demons. And Vera was no exception. Luke was always so sure that she would do something to hurt him or betray him. And Verena knew that if Matty didn’t love her so much, Luke would have taken him away from her without question. And now she was worried that tonight would be that night. Luke, of course, was going to blame her for this. She tried not to think about it as she headed inside the house. Matty sat on the couch and Vera was so worried about him. Her heart felt heavy and she hated that she couldn’t help him. The demoness went up behind the couch and kissed the top of Matty’s head. ”I’m going to cook.” Usually she would ask if he wanted to watch, help, or if he had any requests but she doubted that he wanted to answer.

She shuffled over to the kitchen and quickly got to work. She was just going to fry chicken, sautee vegetables, and whip up some macaroni and cheese. Vera would be lying if she said that she wasn't hungry. Their dinner was interrupted and if she was hungry then her wolf for sure was hungry, even if he was kind of in his own world at the moment. Time felt like it was moving so slow in the silence as she cooked. Finally there was a knock at the door. She turned the stove off. ”I got it Matty.” She skipped over to the door, not even giving him the chance to get up. Vera opened the front door and didn’t even pretend like she was happy to see Luke, but the concern was written in her eyes. ”He is on the couch and I’m making dinner. You are welcome to stay and eat.” She said, stepping aside and shutting the door behind him. Verena went back to the kitchen to finish making everything.

ImageElias settled into the car and put on his seatbelt. Jake agreed to allow the hunter to stay another night. He was looking forward to it, despite wanting to get some answers. Honestly, even if he wasn’t getting any answers he was still really happy to stay another night with Jake though he isn’t really good at showing it. They shared a quick kiss and a small smile came to his lips and he nodded in acknowledgement. Good to know that the hunter has yet another place he can retreat too when he needed to just get away from being a hunter. They began heading over to the apartment and his head was filled with so many questions that he did not even know where to begin or how to begin. It wasn’t long before the were back at Jake’s place Eli slipped out of the car and towards the front door. ”Who was that demon, Jake?” He felt like he waited long enough. This question was only going to eat away at him and he wanted to know. Eli decided to not add the part about how that demon looks familiar, he didn’t want to freak him out.

ImageTimothy was just happy that Eliana and her twin were fine. After learning about all this hunter and demon situation, he was freaked out more. He knew that the two of them could take care of themselves and if Elie said they were okay then she meant it. He tried not to let the worry be obvious. The subject was then changed, as did her signing abilities. He was able to understand her question, but she as very clearly nervous. She signed slow and kind of sloppy but it was cute. Timothy smiled at her and nodded. ’Of course you can. I will even order us a pizza. Since I’m not the best cook.’ He said jokingly before pulling up his phone to open up the pizza app. Once Eliana was in the car, he handed her the phone. ’Order what you want. I am not picky.’ Timothy started up the car and began driving them back to his place.

ImageMathias knew Verena was worried, and he did appreciate how she was trying to help by inviting Luke over. Though he wasn't entirely sure how that would help. Luke had always been like an older brother figure to him, but this was something that only Mathias could fix. He heard the door, his head tilting slightly to see Luke walk in as Vera disappeared into the kitchen again. The older wolf quietly made his way over, taking a seat on the couch beside Mathias. "Hey kiddo..." his eyes wore concern, but also confusion, and Mathias wondered if the man even knew why he'd been called over. "What's going on?"

The young wolf's eyes watched his Alpha for a moment before letting a sigh slip his slips, leaning back on the couch. "It's not a big deal." he muttered, his finger fidgeting with the sleeves of his jacket. He felt a hand on his shoulder, knowing Luke well enough to know the man wouldn't leave until he got answers. There was a beat of silence before Mathias' head was lifted again. "I killed someone, Luke...on purpose." As much as he tried, the Alpha couldn't hide the surprise as his hand slipped from Mathias' shoulder to his lap. "okay..." the younger wolf could tell the man was trying to think of every possible scenario that would have to happen for Mathias to kill someone but was coming up short. "It was a demon, he and his friend attacked us and i just-". Luke nodded in understanding, not needing to hear any more of the story. "So it was self-defense."

ImageEliana could count on one hand all the times she had felt anxious. They all had to do in one way or anything with her and Eli's long-lasting investigation to find the demon that murdered their parents. Feeling anxious in a situation like the one she was in at the moment was not normal, yet she couldn't bring herself to act as she normally would. Tim graciously agreed to let her stay the night at his place, which she was grateful for. Otherwise, she would have had to stay at some hotel while Eli tried to gather intel on the sketchy demon. At least now Tim knew what she was and who she did, so talking to him should have been a little easier. Still, her heart pounded irrationally fast as they made their way to his house. She eyed the phone she was handed for a moment, putting in an order for a meat lover's pizza before handing it back. As they drove, a realization came which only made her nerves swarm like bees. "This will be my first time seeing where you live." she signed as they came to a stop at a light. She had no idea what kind of place Tim had.

ImageJakub couldn't stop thinking about Lucio, more specifically, he couldn't stop thinking about the look on his face when he asked about Eli. He didn't like nor trust it. There was nothing that would stop the demon from harming Eli if he so felt like it. As the two made their way up to Jake's door, the demon tried to push the thoughts aside and focus on his boyfriend, however, it seemed that the latter was also thinking about the same thing. ”Who was that demon, Jake?” Jakub's body froze on the spot, his brain scrambling for an answer that would firstly, not alarm Eli and secondly, not feed his curiosities. "Who, Lucio?" he turned to face the hunter as the apartment door closed, his best poker face in place. "Just a giant pain in my ass. Don't worry about him." Jakub carefully avoided the "ex-boyfriend" title. He was sure he hadn't mentioned the demon's name when he talked to Eli about how he'd been practically forced to sleep with him, but he was certain he'd briefly touched on their history together. Jake's words were carefully calculated to make sure Eli didn't make a connection between that demon and the one at the restaurant. "Why do you ask?"

ImageVerena was trying to ease her nerves. She was beyond worried for Matty, but Luke was here now. She didn’t know what that wolf would do for her wolf, but she was willing to do whatever it was that needed to be done. He was so shaken up. For the demoness, this was another day. Killing wasn’t something she had to think twice about. But this wasn’t about her. Vera listened on the conversation that the two were having, while cooking. Matty finally said out loud what he had done. His wolf killed a demon. But it was to protect them. They were being attacked, unprovoked and they were going to kill them if they didn’t do anything. The demoness kept all the details to herself. It was irrelevant to the story. She finished dinner and put the food on two plates. She brought the plates of food out to the males, setting it on the coffee table. Mathias hadn’t eaten so he needed to eat. She wasn’t sure about Luke, but he was getting a plate anyway. It was out of respect for his alpha status. She went back to the kitchen and poured herself a glass of wine before getting her own plate of food.

ImageTimothy took his phone back and set it down in the cup holder of his car. The radio was playing music rather loudly, but only so he could feel the bass. It was a soothing feeling. And it wasn’t like he needed to hear. Eliana was more than welcome to turn it up or down. He did not want to mess up her hearing. Tim glanced over to her and smiled. It would be the first time she would have seen his place. In fact, not many people come over to TIm’s house. It’s not that he doesn't want people over, he just usually always prefers going out to do something. ’I will make sure to give you a tour.’ His apartment was close to the college. He liked being close to it so that he didn’t have to worry about driving there. Tim pulled up and turned the car off. He unlocked the door once they were both out of the car. ’Welcome to my home. Please make yourself comfortable.’

ImageElias filed into the apartment behind Jakub, shutting and locking the door. It was nice to no longer be in a crowd of people. He hated being around so many people at once. He can deal with people in small increments, but that was just too much. He undid his gun holster as Jakub turned to answer his question. Just some annoying demon? It didn’t feel that way. There were plenty of the supernaturals in the building, but all of them seemed to be at the mercy of Lucio, Jakub, and Verena. That isn’t a coincidence. That meant his boyfriend and his friend were more powerful than they had been letting on. Usually when the two are together they don’t speak much about hunting or life as a demon. They just talk like two normal people dating. But tonight, it wasn’t going to be like that. Elias wanted to know more. "Why do you ask?" He wasn’t sure how to answer the question. He didn’t want to lie, but he also did not want to worry him. ”He seemed powerful. You and Verena too.” He admitted, setting his holster and guns in his bag. He then took a seat on the couch. ”Everyone in that restaurant was afraid of you three. Why?” The hunter was not going to beat around the bush.

ImageMathias knew LUke was right, but getting over something like this wasn't so easy. Sometimes he wished he had the mentality of a demon. Surely someone like Verena wouldn't have this problem. BUt Mathias different. He was raised and taught differently. During his years with the pack, he was always taught not to harm others. That included humans, hunters, supernaturals and yes, even demons. That's why his and Verena's relationship worked so well. His species was always thought to respect the lives of other beings. No matter how much his pack didn't trust Verena, they would never do anything to hurt her. They would never do anything to hurt anyone. "I'm sorry Luke..." the alpha put a soft hand on his shoulders to grab the younger wolf's attention and shook his head. "You have nothing to be sorry for, kid." There was a short pause, during which Vera came in with plates of food and set them on the table. Matt gave her a thankful smile before she disappeared into the kitchen again. "Look, I get why you're feeling guilty." Luke continued. "But if it'd been me, and any of my pack members were in danger...I would have done the same." Luke then took one of the plates from the table and handed it to Mathias. "Now eat, I can't have a hungry wolf showing up to work."

ImageEliana wasn't sure what she expected Tim's home to look like, but she wasn't surprised by it at all. It reflected his personality to a certain perfection. The Huntress took a quick look around before turning to Tim. "It's so nice and homey." she signed, her sentences slowly returning back to normal. The nerves were still present, however, they were a bit calmer than they had been on the ride over. Part of her blamed it on it being her first night at Tim's home, just the two of them. But she knew it wasn't just that...the face of that demon from the restaurant was so engraved into her head that she could hardly focus on anything else. She trusted Eli to take care of himself, and as much as she didn't want to admit it, she trusted Jake too. That didn't stop her from worrying. "I'm sorry I invited myself over so suddenly...It's just, um..." there were so many things Eliana wanted to share with Tim. About her work, about her brother dating a demon, about how she was a nervous wreck and couldn't focus on anything other than whether her brother would be okay or not. But they weren't his burdens to carry. He had already seen more than he should have with the random demon attack back at their campsite. She couldn't in good conscious pull him into such a dark and dangerous world. "Well nevermind. Pizza should be here soon."

ImageSomewhere in the back of his mind, Jake knew Eli would eventually grow curious about him. About Verena. About his past. He had been fully preparing to answer the hunter's questions, but he had hoped it wouldn't be so soon. However, after everything that went down at the restaurant, it was to be expected. A soft sigh left the demon's lips as he set aside his phone and keys, and took a seat on the couch beside Eli. His deep blues held many secrets, and as much as he wanted to be completely honest with Eli, there were certain things he would rather keep to himself. At least for the time being.

"I'm over four centuries old, Eli...and just like humans change over time, so do supernatural beings." He let one arm hang over the back of the couch, taking Eli's own hand in the other. "I've done a lot of things I'm not proud of. When we were younger, Vera and I used to...kill for fun." as much as he had been the one to do it, saying it out loud made his stomach turn. "And even though I'm not like that anymore. I haven't been for a while...we still have a pretty strong reputation." he slowly let go of Eli's hand, trying to arrange his thoughts in the safest way he could possibly say them. "You're a hunter, so you know how demon ranks work. Vera and I are in the highest ranks when it comes to power." he paused, realizing this may be the first time he had ever talked to Eli about the subject. He would have rather avoided it completely, but all he could do now is hope Eli wouldn't treat him any different. As if on cue, the scattered tattoos that Jake had left at the restaurant finally returned to his arm as he continued. "There's only one demon that could be considered more powerful than our ranks. That's the one you say at the restaurant today."

ImageVerena downed her glass of wine and quickly poured another one. She doesn’t get nervous. The demoness was a powerful one. High ranking. She strikes fear into the hearts of everyone with just a gaze. But why does she had this terrible feeling in the pit of her stomach. Luke is going to try and take Mathias away. He is always looking for an excuse to tear the two of them apart. The demon was pure evil, sure. And if it wasn’t for the fact that she had both Jake and Matty in her life, she would have continued to murder anyone and everyone. But she has changed, slightly. Everyone in the pack has to know by now that she would never do anything to hurt Matty. She would sooner end her own life before doing that. But it didn’t matter. Vera was an outsider and was not welcome. She looked down into her empty glass and poured her third cup. She then decided it was best to probably take a couple bites of food. The demoness glanced out to see that Matty was eating, sorta. She wished that she could read minds. She would at least know how he feels and probably how to better help, but she couldn’t. Verena has never felt more useless than in this moment. She released a sign and ditched her barely touched plate. She could not focus on eating. She grabbed the half bottle of wine and glass, stepping out of the kitchen. ”Matty, I am going to head upstairs. Luke stay as long as you need.” She said, with a soft smile. She meant it, despite note liking him in the house. Vera then sipped her wine and headed upstairs.

ImageTimothy shut and locked the door behind Eliana once she stepped inside. He smiled at her, she seemed to like his place which was all that mattered. Hopefully she felt comfortable here. They were dating now and so it was important to him that she was comfortable around him. Though it was quite adorable to watch her sign while she was obviously nervous. It was fast and messy, and yet still somehow adorable. His eyes remained on hers as she began to sign something, but stopped and brought up the pizza. ’Elie? I may be new to all of this...but you can still talk to me. He tried to explain. ’You don’t have to carry the burden on your own.’ Timothy wasn’t even sure how her world even worked. There was more to Eliana Theron than just her being a student. She was a fighter and hunted in the dark for things that he has only read about in fairytales. Timothy wanted to learn those parts about her. His phone vibrated in his pocket and he pulled it out to see the pizza delivery person was at the door. He can’t hear his doorbell, but he has a system in place that sends a message to his phone whenever someone is at his door. He went over and opened the door. He handed over a cash tip and took the pizza box in hand. Timothy shut the door and walked to the kitchen, setting the pizza box down. ’Dinner time’

ImageElias’ gaze followed Jake as he made his way to the couch and sat down. He listened to him carefully, processing everything that he was saying about himself, Verena, and the newcomer Lucio. The hunter wasn’t naive. He knew that his boyfriend and have lived a long time and had done a lot. In fact, it didn’t even shock him that Verena killed for fun. She almost killed Eli and they had only just met. But to wrap his head around the fact that, Jakub, joined in on that fun was something that was taking a while to process. He couldn’t tell this to Eliana. After she was already worried that the demon was not to be trusted and was highly dangerous. Admitting this would just push aside all the hard work it took to get her to trust him. Eli tucked this thought away to be full processed later. Jakub moved on to talk about the ranking system. He remembers learning about the fact that demons were ranked when he was first training to be a hunter. The more powerful demons also happened to be on the most wanted list. Even more so, you weren’t allowed to pursue them without back up. All three of them, were also high ranking demons. The hunter figures that he probably should have learned more about his boyfriend before jumping head first into all of this. The demon stopped talking and Elias just looked at him, not expressing much emotion. He wasn’t even sure what to say in response to this. There were more questions, but he wasn’t going to get the answers here. ”Okay.” Was all he said. Jakub did answer his question after all. The guy in the restaurant was Lucio and he was extremely powerful. Then he even got some bonus information. He settled more into the couch and yawned a bit. The day took more out of him than he realized. ”Are your friends okay?” He decided to change the subject completely. He also genuinely wanted to make sure Jake’s friends were alright.

ImageAll of Luke's words made enough sense to Mathias, but everything was jumbled in his head. He knew they technically had no choice, but by killing that demon, Mathias had broken everything he stood for. All those years of talking Verena out of killing suddenly fell apart in one night. Matty, I am going to head upstairs." Verena's voice brought the warlock out of whatever hazy mental estate he was in. He nodded towards her and watched her disappear up the stairs. Moments later, Luke placed a hand on his shoulder before getting to his feet. "Actually, you should get some sleep too." There was a short silence before Mathias simply nodded and got to his feet as well. "Thanks Luke." The Alpha immediately shook his head. "Don't thank you, just come to work tomorrow. I don't want you wallowing at home all day. do you understand?" Work? That meant he'd have to face the pack. Mathias almost asked for the day off, but instead opted to just agree. As for whether he'd follow through or not was yet to be seen. "Yes sir.". The wolves said their goodbyes and Luke shut the door behind him. Mathias let out a quiet sigh before trudging his way up the stairs. He hoped Verena was already asleep so she wouldn't have to keep worrying about him.

ImageEliana appreciated Tim's wanting to help, and she knew he meant every word. But there was so much more to it than just want. "It's not that I don't want to talk to you, believe me...I wish...I could tell you everything." she signed, an apologetic look on her face. "It's just that, the fact that you even know about all this alone is enough to get you seriously hurt...or worse." her look of apologies slowly morphed into concern. Tim had found out about her world by pure coincidence. Had it been up to her, he would have never known. Eliana was thankful that the pizza arrived, interrupting the subject just for a little bit while she gathered her thoughts. He brain could only focus on two things at the moment. Firstly Tim, and how he'd been dragged into all this by mistake. And secondly, that demon from earlier. As they sat and ate their pizza, questions about this creature continued to cloud Eliana's mind until she couldn't hold it in anymore. She clapped loudly, enough to grab Tim's attention despite his lack of hearing. "What do you say to helping me do some research?" Elie wanted Tim nowhere near the battlefield, but she could definitely use his books smarts now, from the safety of his home, to help her identify this demon that clouded her mind.

ImageJakub wanted to be as honest with Eli as he possibly could, but he didn't want to scare the hunter away. Something told Jake that if he were to tell Eli about what happened, about how he, Sting, was mistaken as the head of the Theron's family's killer, maybe he'd believe it. But the selfish side of him didn't want to risk it even for a moment. Not now, not yet.

He was surprised Eli changed the subject so quickly, but he knew better than to think the hunter was satisfied with the answers. "They'll be okay." he said in response to the question, making a mental note to message Verena later. "They're both tougher than they look." he added a soft smile, but it quickly faded and was replaced by concern. He turned in his seat, carefully cupping Eli's face with his hands. He needed to make sure he had the hunter's full attention. "Eli...I need you to promise me you'' stay away from Lucio." he words were carefully dictated. He needed Eli to know exactly how dangerous this demon could be. "Please I- he's really dangerous and doesn't care about anyone but himself. Please...I don't want you getting hurt." his eyes mirrored the plea in his voice. Lucio had taken so much from him already, he'd be damned if he let him take Eli too.

ImageVerena lost track of how many glasses of wine she had. She knows that she had two in the kitchen and one on the way up to the bedroom. After that, the glass seemed to be refilling themselves. What she is aware of is that both her wine glass and wine bottle is empty. It took a lot for the demon to get drunk, but she eased her nerves severely. Vera knew that whatever happens is what is best for Matty. She just wants him to be happy and feel better. Her gaze shifted from the empty glass on her night stand over to the dresser. She needed to change for bed. Vera got up and stripped down to her lingerie. Stopping before the full length mirror, she pouted. ”He didn’t even get to see it
” Vera wore this specifically for their date since it had been a while since they had been on one, but that was ruined. Just then, she the bedroom door opened and her wolf walked in. If he is up here then Luke must have left. Not bothering with clothes, she moved over to him. ”How was dinner, Matty?” She figured that was better than asking if he was feeling any better.

ImageTimothy did not want to press the issue any further. Eliana did not feel comfortable telling him about everything. It made him feel a bit better that it didn’t have anything to do with lack of trust and more of a safety concern. Timothy wouldn’t even know what to do if he had to actually come across one of those creatures. He was lucky in the woods because he had a skilled hunter with him. But alone. He probably would have died. Maybe that is probably why he should know. To know how to stay safe. He was going to bring it up as they ate, but Eliana had a better idea. Research. Timothy raised an eyebrow. ’I am pretty good at research, but whatever books I have won’t help you I’m surgery.’ There isn’t a library in town that could help unless it was just folklore. Maybe folklore was more fact than fiction. He finished the pizza that was on his plate and went in for another. As he set it down, a thought crossed his mine. ’Does this research have to do with whatever happened tonight? Does that mean you will tell me what happened?’ He would be a much better researcher if he had a better understanding of what it was he was having to look up.

Jakub accepted the subject change. Good. Elias was already thinking about which books in the hunter library were going to help him figure out who Lucio was. He was also going to refrain from texting Eliana that information. She had to hear the name face to face. He was genuinely glad that his boyfriend’s friends were okay. They did not seem very dangerous, minus the fear they struck in all of the other creatures around them. Eli had no reason to arrest any of them and he was hoping that Elie wasn’t thinking of trying to arrest them some other time. She may trust Jake, but the others were not part of that. The demon next to him then cupped his face and the two of them locked eyes. "Eli...I need you to promise me you will stay away from Lucio." So much for dropping the subject. Also how did Jake even realize that he was planning on looking into this himself? It didn’t really matter. The demon was serious. Lucio was clearly bad news and Eli’s life will be in danger. More than usual, that is. He allowed the silence to linger between them for a moment longer, still holding the intense eye contact. ”I promise.” Elias Theorn will not seek out Lucio. But he was going to do some research. ”Happy?” A tiny smirk came to his lips, trying to ease the worry that was coming from Jake.

ImageWhy Mathias gently knocked on the door before entering, he had no idea. He never did that when it was just him and Vera. His mind was fogged with too many things, too many emotions, for his thoughts to make it through cleanly. He spotted Verena who was seemingly getting changed. HIs initial thought was to leave her to it, but she clearly had other plans. She asked him about dinner, and Mathias assumed she was avoiding the subject altogether. A part of him was glad. He wanted to stop talking about it, if only for the rest of the night. "Delicious as always." he said, slowly wrapping his arms around her waist. He placed a gentle kiss on her forehead before moving back to look at her. "I'm sorry the date was ruined...I'll make it up for it soon." he assured her and meant every word.

ImageEliana wasn't sure whether what she was doing was a good idea or not. Looking into a potentially dangerous demon would surely bring consequences, but bringing Timothy into it. That was a whole other battle. Still, Eliana was tired of hiding, of lying. Tim was her boyfriend now, and as odd as that was to think about, she had to get used to the fact that he would want to know more about her. He commented on the books he owned, and how none would be of any help. Eliana couldn't help but smile a bit. There was so much of her world that Tim was not aware of. "Don't worry, I've got all we need" after taking the last bite of her slice of pizza, she reached into her pocket and brought out a small card. She placed it face up on her palm and muttered a few words in Latin. While training, young hunters were always encouraged to carry this around. A pocket-sized library, equipped with every book a hunter may need. From rules and regulations to spells to research material.

After muttering the same set of words a couple of times, the small card began to glow and their surroundings shifted. Tim's living room slowly morphed into an enormous library with floors upon floors stacked with books and scrolls. Once the card stopped glowing, Eliana slipped it back into her pocket and turned to Tim. "Don't freak out! We're still in your house, just...not" Eliana never imagined how difficult it would be to explain how the world of a hunter worked.

ImageJake was certain that despite his changing the subject, his hunter had been riddled with curiosity. It was clear in the pause between Jake's asking him to make a promise, and Eli actually making it.He wasn't going to keep tabs on Eli, he just had to trust that his boyfriend would be wise and stay away from Lucio just as Jake asked him to. The thought of that man being near Eli made Jake's hairs stand on end. After Eli's response, Jake replied with a subtle smirk. "Yes, I am" he stated, but made sure to place a kiss on the hunter's lips before letting go. He'd meant it to be a quick kiss of reassurance, but it slowly turned into a more passionate one. Eli didn't push him away, and Jake took advantage of that. He slowly wrapped his arms around Eli's neck, closing the distance between them as much as he could.
