As expected, the sight of Lucio's face make Jakub's stomach turn. he had nothing but hate towards this man now, so he decided on the spot. Either Lucio would do as he asked or pay the consequences. Jakub didn't even bother to glare, he didn't so much as bother to show any type on discomfort. He simply accepted the invitation and walked inside. The look on the demon's face told Jakub that his visit had been expected, which usually only happened when Lucio had done something against him. There was no need to ask. Jake was certain that he had been to one to tip off the hunters.
"So here's what's going to happen Lu" he said, keeping his tone calm and almost friendly. He leaned against the back of one of the arm chairs resting in the living room.
"You're going to come clean to the hunters about what actually happened that night" Jake said simply, mapping out the options. As he spoke, the snake descended from his arm and slithered around the apartment. She had lived here many years along with Jakub and had become somewhat of a pet. Who knew ink snakes could be so sentimental?
"If you don't like that option, that's fine" he continued to speak, letting his pet explore on her own.
"I could just kill you". The only reason Lucio was still alive was because of Jakub and Verena's need to clear their name. But if keeping him alive meant hiding from the hunters as well as having to protect himself from him, he preferred the hunters.
"And don't even bother to threaten me. You know i'm more than powerful enough". Jake had always been stronger than Lucio physically, but weaker emotionally. That was quickly changing.
"I may not go around killing like I used to, but for you i'll gladly make an exception" Eli stated that he would only be joining her on patrol, but Eliana was still worried. One because that demon was out there and two, because if Isabelle saw the emergency alert, there was a good chance she wouldn't even let them go on a regular patrol mission. They could always sneak out, but if something went wrong, if they got hurt and Isabelle had no idea that would be even worse. There was only one thing to do. Hope that their guardian hadn't seen the message. The hunter followed her brother out of the room and down the steps. Isabelle could be heard working about in the kitchen, perhaps working on making dinner. Eliana decided to do things as casually as possible.
"Izzy, i'm off" she called out. She motioned for Eli to stay quiet. Maybe if she didn't know they were going together, she wouldn't get suspicious. There was a second of silence before they got a response.
"Be careful! And hurry back, dinner is almost ready". Elie let out a relieved sigh. It seemed like Isabelle had no idea. Good. She hurried out the front door after Eli and closed it.
Mathias knew he didn't have to stay with her, but he wanted to. Unfortunately he remembered a little something called work. He sighed. Despite being a wolf, he still had to earn enough money to pay rent and make sure Verena lived happy and comfortably.
"Well i'll at least come straight home after work" he said, modifying his offer. He would usually hang out with the pack from time to time, but he was sure they would understand. They didn't exactly approve of his relationship with a "criminal" but they supported him regardless.
We can do anything you want" he said smiling down at her. He looked over at the potatoes in from of him. They were pealed and cut, but he wasn't sure where to go from there.
"What now?" he asked, scratching the back of his head. He really should learn how to cook.
