The answer Jakub got from Verena was not the answer he was hoping for. "I hope this is some weird joke.". Jake stared at her for a moment, trying to figure out if she was joking, but it didn't appear that way. The blue eyed demon rubbed the back of his neck, unsure of how to explain himself. Clearly what had happened back there didn't have the same effect on her then it'd had on him. "Didn't you see the look on those kids faces..hear the desperation in their voice?" he paused for a moment to gather his thoughts. "How would you feel if someone showed up and killed me for no good reason other than fun? Everyone we've killed must have had a family somewhere or-" he stopped mid-sentence, not really planning on explaining it any further. If she didn't get it this way then there was no other way for him to explain. Jakub thought about how he would feel if someone were to show up and kill Verena out of nowhere. He would be devastated, and full of rage towards whoever had killed her. That's how all of those victims families must have felt. That's how the hunter's kids, and the majority of the hunters in the organization felt about him right now, and it was all thanks to one unwanted pest. When Jakub and Lucio were together everything seemed possible. It felt like a dream, which the latter destroyed in an instant. He begged for forgiveness, but Jakub couldn't move past or so he moved on. He found new love and hope in Verena and ever since then it seemed like Lucio's sole purpose in life was to make Jakub's a living hell on earth. Unfortunately, he was succeeding. Those kids, the looks on their faces, the broken hearts, the empty space they'd feel for the rest of their lives, it was all Lucio's fault and Jakub would make sure that he paid for it. "I can't continue to kill for sport Vera" Jakub finally admitted with a sogh. "But once I find Lucio…I will destroy him".

"When has family ever mattered before Jake?". Jakub frowned at this comment. We're they not family? Before being lovers they were best friends. They were and still are the only family they have, and now she wasn't implying she didn't care about family. "Am I not your family?". Jakub got to his feet just as Verena did. Her back was turned to him which meant she was going to be difficult. Jakub didn't know how to wrap her head around the situation that she didn't seem to understand. "It doesn't matter what I decide to do with my life, I'm still Sting and you're still my family and if we keep going the way we're going one of us is going to end up hurt, arrested or worse". Yes, Jakub cared about the kids that had just lost their father for no reason other than the fact Lucio wanted to have fun, but he cared about Verena more. She was the only person he loved and wanted to look put for. Why couldn't she see that what they were doing was dangerous for everyone? And them there was the disturbing fact that what had happened with the hunter's kids didnt seem to have bothered her one bit. walked around to face her, Jakub gently taking hold of her shoulders. "Look at me. Can you seriously tell me you didn't feel even a little bad for those lids?". Jakub knew Verena was evil, as was he, but that didn't mean they were heartless. Lucio was heartless. He had zero regards for anyone, including himself. Verena wasn't lile jim, not at all. That's why Jakub loved her, but this side of her surprised him.

Verena refused his offer and Jakub let his hand fall to his side with a sigh. She really could be very stubborn about things, but Jakub wasn't going to give in. Not this time. "You're too used to getting your way Verena…one day that's going to come back and bite you in the ass". He was beginning to get impatient with her. It wasn't that she didn't understand, it's that she refused to. What she said had some sense to it, and Jakub fully intended on finding Lucio and turning him in. He wasn't going to duck his head and hide at the mercy of a nacisistic demon. That's probably what he wanted out of this and Jakub wasn't going to give him the satisfaction. "I love you Vera…but you need to learn when to hold em and when to fold em.". Maybe she needed some time. Maybe they both did, but if they continued this way things might get too messy to clean up. "Maybe we need to part ways for a bit…I don't want to ruin your fun but I can't give you what you want. Not this time". Without another word, Jakub took his keys and jacket. He stood before her with a brokenhearted look, but only for a moment, before he straightened up his face, kissed her one last time and headed for the door. "I hope you change your mind sooner rather than later" he called over his shoulder before stepping out and shutting the door behind him.

Tears were stinging his eyes, but he quickly blinked them away. Verena would come to her senses eventually. He knew her, and he knew she would. Right now he had something else pending that needed to be taken care of immediately. Lucio. The most nacisistic, devious, backstabbing cheater he had ever had the misfortune of knowing. He couldn't have gotten too far. Jakub knew where he lived, and if he wasn't there he would search high and low for him. He would do whatever was necessary to turn him in and make him pay for what he had done to him, to Verena and to those kids. Jake's feet pounder on the pavement as he got closer and closer to the demons estate. His fists slowly balled up into fists which pounded on the door with force as soon as he was close enough. His blue eyes burned with rage now as he waited for the door to open.

Verena thought she had won. She thought that Jakub was going to give up this ridiculous idea of not killing people and running away. But she was wrong oh so very wrong. "Maybe we need to part ways for a bit…I don't want to ruin your fun but I can't give you what you want. Not this time" The demon was speechless. Absolutely speechless. He grabbed his keys and jacket. He gave her a look as if this were the last time. Like their years of being together was coming to an end at this very moment. Even their kiss was like the last time. Tears filled her eyes as he walked out. She touched her lips with the tips of her fingers and just let the tears fall. Jakub had just broken up with her. Through away everything they had together and left them brokenhearted. What was she supposed to do without Jakub? That was all she had and now she didn't have him anymore. Verena wiped the tears off her cheek and then left the apartment. She got out onto the street and started heading back towards her home. She wasn't even worried about hunters that were running around looking for her and Jakub. The demon cut through a park to get back home and she saw a bunch of hunters surrounding some man. She was hoping to get by without being bothered, but being the most wanted demon makes her a priority arrest. "Stop right there Berserk! You are also under arrest!" One of the hunters shouted, heading over towards her. Also? They were arresting the man? It didn't matter. "Go away hunter. I am not in the mood." She warned, as she continued to walk.

Lucio had come up with a fabulous plan. Make Jakub's life a living hell. Messing up some kids and Verena's life was just icing on the cake. He got home, rather excited. He had killed a very powerful hunter. Every demon knows that killing a powerful hunter was against every rule. It was better to just turn themselves in. Lucio didn't care. That hunter was just a hunter. And now he was dead. Which meant there was one less demon to worry about. He walked into his house, trying to think of the different punishments the demons were going to get. He was hoping something painful. Lucio ran his fingers through his hair when there was a heavy pounding on his door. Raising an eyebrow, he moved to open the door. When he did, he smiled lightly at a pissed off Jakub. "Why don't you look happy to see me?" He asked, leaning against the doorway. "I'm happy to see you."

Jakub had to practically force himself to stay in place when the door opened and the traitor's face appeared in front of him. The same face he once worshiped now he couldn't stand to look at. It was all well, until Lucio spoke. Jakub snapped immediately, grabbing him by the collar with both hands, and slammed him against the nearest wall. "I don't know what you want from me, or what you think you'll obtain but let me make this very clear" he said, inching his face a little closer. "You don't scare me. Not anymore". As he let go, Jake pushed him against the wall a bit for good measure, before backing up a few steps. The blue eyed demon folded his arms across his chest and stared back at his former lover with a stone cold glare. One he usually only reserved for hunters, and now for him as well. "Spit it out, what do you want? You want me in jail? You want Verena for yourself? You want me to despise you because if that's the case then you don't need to do much, in fact you don't need to do anything". Jakub's eyes roamed the taller demon's body and face, attempting to come up with a solution as to what he could possibly want out of this. He was sure of one thing; whatever Lucio wanted, it wasn't him. As far as Jakub was concerned, Lucio never gave a damn about him, even when they were together. Regardless of what his target was, Jakub was prepared to tare it apart just like he had done with his heart.

Mathias was in a bit of a pickle. Well, that was an understatement. He was surrounded by five highly skilled hunters who all had one thing in commen; they wanted to arrest him. Why? Mathias wasn't even sure. Some ridiculous rule about not being able to legally transform completely into a wolf unless it was a full moon. Moonlight had an arsenal of ridiculous rules just like that one. As if Mathias could could control weather he transformed or didn't at all times. Sometimes it came unannounced and he had no choice but to let it happen. But no, the hunters didn't care about small details such as those. They were fixated on arresting him, and here he was, butt naked and attempting to cover as much of himself as he could with a ripped piece of his own clothing. "Look, it was an accident" he attempted to protest but something seemed to distract them momentarily. A woman? A very beautiful woman. One of the hunters refered to her as Berserk and somehow that sounded incredibly familiar, but Mathias couldn't put his finger on it. They seemed to want to arrest her too for some reason. This looked to be his chance to exlscape. When the opportunity arose, Mathias attempted to make a run for it, but two of the hunters went after him, meanwhile the others surrounded the womam. So much for that plan.

Verena wiped the final tears from her cheeks, when a hunter blocked her path. A weapon pointed directly at her. Two more joined him, surrounding her. A sigh escaped her. She was not in the mood to deal with more hunters. Not after she had lost her boyfriend because of them and Lucio. "Please don't make me fight any more of you tonight." She muttered, running her fingers through her raven black hair. "Berserk you are under arrest for your heinous crimes against humanity." She rolled her eyes. They just keep reminding her about all the people she has killed. To be fair, Verena doesn't start anything with hunters. They start fights with her and they just happen to end up dead. "And for the murders against many hunters." Verena's hand dropped to her sides and her nails elongated into sharp claws. "Last chance." She warned. The hunter behind her pulled the trigger and she ran out of the way. Ending up behind her, the demon grabbed the hunters arm and snapped it the bone in two. She cried out in pain and Verena tossed her at a tree. The tree has a dent in it from where the hunter landed. Verena snatched the gun at one of the guys and kicked him hard in the chest. She heard a couple of cracks which she figured was from his ribs. He dropped and she punched him in the face. The last hunter shot and grazed Verena's arm. She cursed and shot the hunter in the legs. The demon kicked his gun away.

Turning around, she saw that two hunters were still surrounding a naked guy. She walked towards them and they were trembling. She pistol whipped one across the face and shot the other in the arm, making him drop his gun. He dropped to the ground after Verena karate chopped his neck. Looking around she realized that she might have gone a bit far to cause them all pain. But she was sad and angry. The demon can say she honestly felt better after this. Dropping the hunter's gun, her attention went to the naked man. Her grey eyes roamed him for a moment. He was very handsome, but she wasn't trying to flirt. She just wanted to go home. "Steal their clothes and go home before they come to." She told him, turning to walk away. Verena should have killed them all. But she had injured them pretty bad, it was still effective.

Lucio was slammed up against the wall, but he wasn't phased. The smirk didn't even leave his face. Though he didn't scare Jakub, he still knew how to get to him. It was mostly through Verena. That was the best way to handle things. But killing a hunter was killing two birds with one stone. The demon was more than proud of himself. Jake let him go and backed. Lucio adjusted his shirt as his ex lover spoke. "Spit it out, what do you want? You want me in jail? You want Verena for yourself? You want me to despise you because if that's the case then you don't need to do much, in fact you don't need to do anything" Lucio was disgusted by one of the options Jakub had given. But he was amused by the others. "There is one thing you never have to worry about Jakub. And that's me taking the demon bitch from you." He said, with some bitterness. Lucio hates Verena and vice versa. "But the ultimate plan is to make your life a living hell. And so far. It's working." Lucio said, pleased with the response. He looked around thinking he would see Verena with him. They were pretty much always together. "Where is Miss Berserk? You left her all alone just to come and see me?" He asked, hands on his chest as if he was being wooed.

As if it wasn't already irritating enough, Lucio's smirk didn't falter. How Jakub hated that smirk. It's the same smirk he used to give when he knew he had won, when he knew he had power over Jakub. [B]"But the ultimate plan is to make your life a living hell. And so far. It's working."[/color]. Jake's eyes narrowed for a moment, deciding to ignore the comments about Verena for now, and suddenly a rumbling came from his throat. He was laughing. The whole situation seemed so ridiculous to him, it made him laugh. "That's cute. You think you still own me" Jakub laughed humorously. He took a step closer to the demon, his own blue eyes piercing into the other's. "Did you know I worshiped you? I needed you to live, to breathe," as he spoke he moved closer, his features easing out into a relaxed expression. If Lucio's motive was to make Jakub angry, he wouldn't have the satisfaction. "Despite everything you said and did, despite the way you treated me like your puppet, I craved to see this face every morning, laying next to me". The shorter demon's hand slowly lifted and was placed on the other's cheek, his back nails quietly stretching out into sharp claws. "Because I believed you truly loved me. That you just wanted me all to yourself. That…was a living hell" he said, putting the emphasis on "that". The claw on his pointer finger slowly dug into the skin of the taller man's cheek as Jake's face inched closer. "I'm not that stupid, naive kid anymore." the same claw skimmed down the soft skin, leaving a cut from the cheek bone down to the jawline before it was removed. Using the same hand, Jake dug into the inside pocket of his leather jacket, fishing around a bit before pulling out a small pendant. A thing bronze chain with a rounded piece of metal, engraved with Lucio's family symbol. He hooked it on one claw and, after taking one of Lucio's hands, he lowered it onto his palm, gently closing the demon's hand around it. Jakub knew he should have done this a long time ago, but it was better late than never. His fce remained a mask of indifference as he looked back up at the face he once adored. "You're going to remember me for the rest of your pathetic life".

Mathias watched in amazement as the woman they called Berserk took out each and every one of the hunters with ease. She didn't kill them, for some reason, but damaged them enough to render them useless for a while. He was staring in awe, so entranced that he almost missed her comment. He looked down at himself, remembering he was naked and suddenly felt self conscious. She started to walk away but he quickly held out a hand as if that would stop her. "Wait! Wait!". He quickly glanced around at the hunter's for one that looked about his size and rushed over. He pulled off a pair of leather pants along with a black t-shirt and pulled them both on. The leather pants were a bit tight and felt odd against his bare skin. The t-shirt was also a little tight, though he didn't mind too much. It hugged his muscles just the right way. This style of clothing wasn't exactly his cup of tea, but it beats the alternative. He turned to the woman again, realizing she was still walking and hurried to catch up with her. "Wait, please!" he quickly moved in front of her and smiled softly. "You saved my life. I'm forever in your debt". Being warewolf meant one was loyal to their word. Mathias would certainly find some way to thank her.

Verena was ready to go home and take a long bath. It would help her relax after the stress she has gone through with Jake today. The demon ran her fingers through her hair, making her way out of the park. "Wait! Wait!" She glanced back at the naked man, hoping around to get on some decent clothes. But she kept walking. Whatever he had to say did not need to be said. The guy didn't die and she wasn't being arrested. All was well. At least the part of her day was. She was still bitter about Lucio and her break up. "Wait, please!" The not so naked man appeared before her. The clothes on him were a bit too tight, but she was more concerned with him blocking her path. She was getting tired of people getting in the way of her destination. "You saved my life. I'm forever in your debt" Verena raised an eyebrow. "That's not necessary." She explained trying to walk around him. She was going to leave him for dead. He should actually be thanking the hunters for taking their attention off him. "No need to be in debt to me."

Image

Lucio was not happy with Jakub's relaxed expression. It wasn't really because he wasn't angry because Jake's life was still falling apart. Even with the calmness in his tone, Lucio was still winning. Whether Jake admitted it or not. "I'm not that stupid, naive kid anymore. If only Jakub knew. Lucio will always have owned him. Despite everything that had gone on, Jakub belonged to him. He kept his mouth shut as he watched Jakub dig into his pocket. He pulled out a pendant that Lucio quickly recognized. It was a family emblem. It was something he gave it to him as a way of branding. To make him his. The fact that this blue eyed demon still had it said a lot. Lucio took hold of pendant and slid it into his pocket. "You're going to remember me for the rest of your pathetic life" Lucio chuckled softly. "And you're going to remember me for the rest of yours."

Lucio didn't say much after Jakub spoke, which was surprising and suspicious. He wasn't the type to just stay silent. When he threw Jakub's comment back to him, Jake knew he was right. Forgetting someone like him, forgetting everything he'd done, it wasn't a simple task. In fact it might even be impossible, but Jakub had something Lucio didn't. Freedom of mind. Despite being hunted down by hundreds upon hundreds of hunters and being framed for killing that man, Jakub had freed himself from Lucio's grasp even if the other didn't think so. Thanks to Verena, Jake no longer felt pain when he looked at his ex lover's face, only hate, and as far as the night's incident went, Jakub was determined to turn in the real murderer. How and when, he didn't know yet, but it would happen. By the look on his face and that air of superiority and arrogance he wore, Jakub could tell that Lucio still believed he owned him. In his mind, Jakub was still his property. Jakub only wished he could be around for the moment when he realizes he's completely wrong. "I'll see you soon Andrews" he said as he turned for the door, making sure Lucio caught a glimpse of the smirk playing on his lips first. "Very soon". Jakub reached for the handle, second guessing himself for a moment and wondering if he should just attempt to capture him now, but talked himself out of it. A situation such as this needed to be handled delicately. Soon enough, the demon would be behind bars.

The woman called Berserk insisted that Mathias didn't owe her anything, but he didn't agree. She had just saved him from a pack of hunters. That was a big deal, at least to Matt it was. "No but I do!" he insisted as he searched around for something. He had thought about giving the woman his number, but his phone had dissapeared, along with his clothing. His deep blue eyes moved back to her and he smiled slightly. "I'm Mathias" he introduced, bowing a but before changing his mind and holding out a hand for her to shake instead. He was feeling a bit nervous, but he couldn't tell if it was because of the presence of the beautiful strange woman or because the hunters were still alive and could wake up at any moment. Mathias knew he should get out of there before that happened, but he wanted to assure her that he was going to pay her back for what she had done for him. He paused for a moment, noticing a thin shiny object on the ground and picked it up. It looked like a pen, but he tested it out first to make sure. Once he was certain the inside was filled with ink and not some sort of weird poison, he gently took the woman's hand and turned it over, quickly scribbling his name and number on her wrist. As he looked up at her to explain, he heard his name being called. From within the trees behind her, a couple of Shadows emerged. It only took him seconds to recognize a couple of members from his pack. "I thought you said you were in trouble" the leader spoke first. "uh, I was" he muttered as he let the pen drop. Without hesitation he gently kissed the top of her hand and smiled, thanking her once again before rushing back to the pack.

Lucio was relaxing on his couch. Proud of the fact that he managed to tip off the hunters about Jakub. He would have done the same with Verena, but he hadn't seen her. It wouldn't make sense to put her in danger when she wasn't around. But as soon as she left the comforts of her wretched wolf, Lucio would make sure the hunters knew about it. A dark chuckle left his mouth. Oh how he enjoyed ruining their lives. He mostly enjoyed making Jakub suffer even though he no longer lived in his house. Torturing Verena was just an added bonus to his happiness. A knock came to the door and Lucio glanced at it. He knew exactly who it was. Only two demon were brave enough to cross his path and Verena wasn't nice enough to knock. Getting up he wandered to the front door and opened it up. He smiled at his guest. "To what do I owe this pleasure, Jake?" He asked, stepping inside so that he could walk in.

Image

Elias managed to get on his hunter outfit and he added more weapons to his holsters along with gold bullets. He had had his gold encrusted knife placed into his boot and he adjusted his clothes. "What about Isabelle?" Eli almost forgot about their guardian. She loved them both so much and she wouldn't let them do anything to get themselves killed. Though Eli and Eliana were okay with putting themselves on the line to kill this demon. Eli didn't know what to do. They could always lie to Isabelle, but she would be able to figure it out. Elie expressed more concern about their hunting trip. "And how will we know who to kill? We don't even know what he looks like" The hunter sighed and shrugged his shoulder. "I will just join your hunt." He simply stated. They will not go out with the intention of killing Sting. It is bonus if they run into him, but they still have patrol. Eli opened the bedroom door. "Let's go." He said, leaving the room.

Image

Mathias agreed to stay indoors with her and she giggled. "You don't have too. I know you work with the pack and stuff during the day." She was not going to be the one to keep him trapped inside. That isn't good for dogs so it definitely cannot be good for werewolves. He could leave whenever he wanted so long as he came home to her. He also volunteering to drive by Jake's apartment as means to check on him. Verena smiled and nodded. "That would be great." Nothing bad can happen to Jakub or her world would start to fall apart. They needed to clear their name and it started with Lucio. But she can't just go demand answers. It will either end in Lucio's death or some sort of trap. Vera would just have to talk to Jake about what they should do. But until them, she was going to finish dinner. Vera finished with the steaks and she put them on their own plates. "How are the mashed potatoes, Matty?" She asked with some amusement.

As expected, the sight of Lucio's face make Jakub's stomach turn. he had nothing but hate towards this man now, so he decided on the spot. Either Lucio would do as he asked or pay the consequences. Jakub didn't even bother to glare, he didn't so much as bother to show any type on discomfort. He simply accepted the invitation and walked inside. The look on the demon's face told Jakub that his visit had been expected, which usually only happened when Lucio had done something against him. There was no need to ask. Jake was certain that he had been to one to tip off the hunters. "So here's what's going to happen Lu" he said, keeping his tone calm and almost friendly. He leaned against the back of one of the arm chairs resting in the living room. "You're going to come clean to the hunters about what actually happened that night" Jake said simply, mapping out the options. As he spoke, the snake descended from his arm and slithered around the apartment. She had lived here many years along with Jakub and had become somewhat of a pet. Who knew ink snakes could be so sentimental? "If you don't like that option, that's fine" he continued to speak, letting his pet explore on her own. "I could just kill you". The only reason Lucio was still alive was because of Jakub and Verena's need to clear their name. But if keeping him alive meant hiding from the hunters as well as having to protect himself from him, he preferred the hunters. "And don't even bother to threaten me. You know i'm more than powerful enough". Jake had always been stronger than Lucio physically, but weaker emotionally. That was quickly changing. "I may not go around killing like I used to, but for you i'll gladly make an exception"

Image

Eli stated that he would only be joining her on patrol, but Eliana was still worried. One because that demon was out there and two, because if Isabelle saw the emergency alert, there was a good chance she wouldn't even let them go on a regular patrol mission. They could always sneak out, but if something went wrong, if they got hurt and Isabelle had no idea that would be even worse. There was only one thing to do. Hope that their guardian hadn't seen the message. The hunter followed her brother out of the room and down the steps. Isabelle could be heard working about in the kitchen, perhaps working on making dinner. Eliana decided to do things as casually as possible. "Izzy, i'm off" she called out. She motioned for Eli to stay quiet. Maybe if she didn't know they were going together, she wouldn't get suspicious. There was a second of silence before they got a response. "Be careful! And hurry back, dinner is almost ready". Elie let out a relieved sigh. It seemed like Isabelle had no idea. Good. She hurried out the front door after Eli and closed it.

Image

Mathias knew he didn't have to stay with her, but he wanted to. Unfortunately he remembered a little something called work. He sighed. Despite being a wolf, he still had to earn enough money to pay rent and make sure Verena lived happy and comfortably. "Well i'll at least come straight home after work" he said, modifying his offer. He would usually hang out with the pack from time to time, but he was sure they would understand. They didn't exactly approve of his relationship with a "criminal" but they supported him regardless. We can do anything you want" he said smiling down at her. He looked over at the potatoes in from of him. They were pealed and cut, but he wasn't sure where to go from there. "What now?" he asked, scratching the back of his head. He really should learn how to cook.

Lucio figured that Jakub had come by to threaten him. That's pretty much all he does now. He was ever so generous as to not kill him on the spot. Hence why he had allowed this demon into his home. But he was now threatening him. Giving him an ultimatum. Either turn himself in or get killed. Neither of those decisions would do. Lucio cannot destroy Jakub's life in the after life. He had to continue his stay on earth and make sure that the hunters always remain on the demons trail, but never catch them. It will keep them in fear and keep them on edge. Just how Lucio likes it. Jakub's snake friend made its way for the host body and roamed the apartment. Lucio always admired the way he could manipulate his tattoos. Finally Jake stopped talking and Lucio stood for a moment in silence. Almost as if he was considering his options. "No." He said, simply. "This is what's actually going to happen. You and Verena are going to be hunted down for all eternity whether I live or die. You killing me just seals your fate. If you thought killing me would benefit you, you wouldn't have given me this option." Lucio was not afraid of Jakub. He may be physically strong, but Luc used to own him. "Here is what you are going to do. You are going to grab you pet and leave my house." The demon started moving Jake towards the front door. "And do be careful. There are hunters roaming about." He teased knowing that Jakub had to to have figured out how the hunters knew he was out and about.

Elias was not going to take know for an answer and his sister came to realize that. They decided that it was best to just have it look as though Elie was just going out on patrol. That wold be more believable than having Isabelle notices that the twins were going out together. That would raise suspicion. Their guardian would never let the both of them go out together. One always stayed home. His sister had gestured for Elias to keep quiet which confused him. He never spoke anyway. He didn't need to be asked to stay silent, but he did as he was told. Eliana said goodbye to the guardian and the siblings quickly followed out. They were on the street and the hunter immediately discharged his gun. He always had it out on the nights the hunters sent out a warning message. Eli was trying to stay back since this patrol belonged to Elie. He was just going to keep quiet and watch her back.

Verena agreed to Mathias coming straight home from work for the next couple of days and doing whatever the demon pleased. She loved to sound of getting whatever she wanted. It made her feel nice. Not just her evil nature, but just in general. Getting what you want feels like a right that Vera deserves. And her werewolf was going to make sure she is granted that right. Verena started making the mixed vegetables, but Matty was confused on what to do next with the mashed potatoes. She pulled a black pot out of the cupboard and a giant fork. She placed each potato in the pot and then handed the wolf the fork. "Mash them." She said. All he needed to do was use the fork and turn the potatoes to mush. She left the wolf to mashing and started seasoning the vegetables.

As expected, Lucio wasn't playing nice. He all but pushed Jakub out the door. Jake's pet was still roaming around the apartment and Lucio made it very clear that he wanted both of them gone. Something unusual for him. He used to use just about every trick to keep Jakub in his siights. Just the slight touch from the man made Jakub want to bash his face in, but unfortunately he was right. With Lucio dead there was no possible way of them clearing their names. That was the only reason he was still breathing. However Lucio seemed to be convinced that there were other reasons along with that, and Jakub wasn't going to tell him otherwise. As he reached the door, Jake turned to face him, resisting the urge to kill him right then and there. Everything he had said was true, but he couldn't give in now or he'd be giving Lucio exactly what he wants. Or maybe...maybe that was the way to go all along. Maybe instead of going against him all this time, he should have been cooperating. A voice in the back of his head told him to wait and talk it over with Verena, but Jakub never could resist a good opportunity. The blue eyed demon tanker his arm away from Lucio's grasp and watched as the snake slithered back into its proper place. "What do you want from me, huh? I always did as you asked and you used me in return. I should be the one looking for revenge" as he spoke, Jake let a slight hint of desperationslip into his voice. Not much, but enough for the other to detect it. He proceeded to glare at him silently, hoping he would take the bait. If he didn't, things would go on as usual, but if he did, the tables could be completely turned.

Image

Matt continued to stare at the potatoes in confusion until Verena stepped in to help. She put them in a pot for him and told him what to do. It made sense, of course. Mashed potatoes neeeded to be mashed. "Yes ma'am" he said as he immediately set to work. He was starving, and all that worrying about Jakub made him even more hungry. "How about I cook tomorrow?" the wolf suggestedm he obviously had no idea what he was doing and he would most likely mess everything up, but he wanted to do something nice for her. Besides, they had the internet. Cooking shows, recipies, tutorials, you name it. He would just have to do some research and choose whatever looked easier. He hoped Verena would let him. After all he needed to get some practice too. If he got the okay, he would come home right after work and start his research. In fact, he might even start tonight.

Image

Eliana walked purposely. Though it was the same root she always took, tonight the determination was different. The stakes were much higher. She glanced back every once in a while to make sure Eli was behind her and kept a firm grip on her weapon at all times. They had been told several things about this Sting character to try to scare them into not coming after him, but that only helped them identify him. He's very quiet when he works, they said. He doesn't give much warning before showing up nor before attacking. He kills for sport, just like his partner Berserk. They have a vague idea of what she looks like. Very beautiful with long black hair, but that doesn't narrow it doesn't very much. Elie continues to gather facts as they walk. Anything she could remember about the two, mainly sting since he was the one that had been spotted. Alien wondered if her brother knew about the tattoo. He must know. Eli was much smarter than her, as well as more likely to be able to gather facts about who they were looking for. He might even know more than she does. "Hey Eli, do you know why they call him sting?" she decided to ask, hoping her brother could add more pieces to the puzzle.

Lucio was expecting Jakub to leave his apartment so that he could go back to making his life hell. But he wasn't moving. Not that Lucio really minded. He was enjoying these games that Jake insisted on playing. "What do you want from me, huh? I always did as you asked and you used me in return. I should be the one looking for revenge" The demon raised an eyebrow and the chuckled darkly. Revenge? On Lucio? For what? Having fun. Turning Jakub's uncanny love into a toy. Lucio a demon from the lowest levels of hell. Jakub knew that Lucio would never return the love the way that he wanted. He walked into it and Lucio made do with this situation. Though he would never admit it Jakub meant a lot to Lucio. And when he left, he was broken for a while. But he got over it and decided to make his life a living hell instead. Love sick Jakub and Miserable Jakub bring Lucio the same about of fun. "You did it to yourself. You fell in love with me knowing that I would never return the feeling. You never left my side despite the countless times I had allowed you to leave. I was your sun, moon, and stars. You couldn't breathe unless I was holding your hand. You couldn't exact revenge on me if you wanted too." Lucio said with slight amusement. He did miss those moments. Toying with Jake always made his day. But he would not sit here and allow Jake to threaten him without being reminded of how their relationship really went. "Are we done now, puppet or are you still begging for mercy?" He asked, ready to get rid of the blue eyed demon.

Image

Verena continued with the vegetables as Mathias mashed the potatoes. It was cute to watch him cook in the kitchen and perfect the food so that it tasted as good as the demon could make it. Vera always ate it, but between them they knew her food was better. "How about I cook tomorrow?" The demon raised an eyebrow at her boyfriend. That would be quite amusing. Watching him attempt to make an entire meal. By himself. Alright. As long as you don't burn the house down." She said jokingly. Of course she would watch him and make sure that if he needed help she could chip in. "Once you finish mashing, add a little bit of water, put it on the stove, and stir." She said.

Elias liked the root that his twin was taking. It allowed her to see everything and it was simple. He made a mental note to try this route out when it was his turn to patrol. That way he could see demon from a farther distance and not get attached to one, like the blue eyed demon. There wasn't really anyone around. Not even other supernatural creatures. Sting was a Level 5 demon. Dangerous to almost everyone. Any sane person would stay indoors. Any sane hunters would travel in groups not pairs. But the twins aren't sane. They have pain in their hearts and their desire for revenge is strong. They deserve to hunt and kill Sting. Unfortunately, they weren't really sure about what his looks like. All they know is the scorpion tattoo on his back and his dark hair. Not much information considering demons aren't usually walking about shirtless. His counterpart Berserk had and even more vague description. Long ink black hair. That was all they knew. She didn't have an distinctive marks. "Hey Eli, do you know why they call him sting?" Eli nodded. "The tattoo on his back is a scorpion. When it comes to life the stinger will inject a poison so strong that it will deteriorate your internal organs." He looked around for a brief moment. "So don't get too close." That is the most Eli has said today. He doesn't really plan on talking for the rest of the evening.

It took every ounce of strength that Jake possessed to not punch Lucio's face through the back of his head. He went on about how Jake used to depend on him, which was true. Everything he said was true, there was no reason to deny it now, but his threats seemed to strike a nerve in Lucio. "True" he said simply. He wasn't going to argue against the obvious. Of course he was only referring to the first part of the statement. He seemed to be convinced that Jake still feared him, or loved him or whatever emotions he thinks he's got over Jake. Regardless of how badly he wanted to prove that wrong, having him think that was to Jakub and Verena's advantage. Still so full of yourself. The words almost left Jakub's mouth, but he decided to keep that comment to himself. "But no, i'm not done". Jake rested his back against the closed door as he stared up at the man that was once his entire world. Jakub from the past was such a naive fool. He went from demanding love to demanding fear. Bad decisions all around. "I didn't come here to threaten you, no need to get all sentimental". The sarcasm oozed out of Jake's words. Creatures like Lucio didn't get sentimental. In order to get sentimental, one has to have emotions. Lucio doesn't know the meaning of that word. "I came to make a deal, also.." Jake examined the demon from head to toe. He seemed tense, and oddly eager to get rid of him. "My being here is making you uncomfortable...why is that?". As he recalled it, never in the years of knowing him had Jakub made Lucio uncomfortable.

Eli answered Eliana's question in detail and she smiled. "Good, just making sure you know". His warning was right though. They had to stay a safe distance from the criminal if they wanted to survive. The society had an antidote for just about every demon bite, scratch and the works, but they had yet to find anything that worked fast enough against Sting's poison. Meaning that if they were stung, they were done for. The streets were completely empty. No demons, not any type of supernatural, and no hunters other than themselves. Everyone was too terrified to come outside, all because of one creature. "No creature should have this much power" she muttered to herself, not really caring if Eli heard. They continued walking along Elie's usual root for a while but still found absolutely nothing and no one. It was starting to irritate her. To keep herself calm she tried changing the subject. "So where were you all day today?" She asked her brother curiously. He never said anything about where he went, nor did he answer her question as to why he hadn't answered her messages. That was slightly suspicious.

Image

Verena requested that Matt didn't burn the house down when he cooked. The wolf just smiled and nodded in agreement. She explained to him what to do next with the potatoes and he tried to follow her instructions exactly. He put them in the pot as he had been instructed and began mashing as if his life depended on it. He eventually finished his job and stared at the mush. Was it finished now? He didn't even know if he had done it right. If he was going to cook for her the next day, he would need to do a lot of research. Something like making mashed potatoes shouldn't be this hard to figure out. Perhaps he was just colinarily-impaired, if that was even a thing. "Am I done?" he asked, eager to eat. His stomach had been protesting for a while now. It was getting louder by the minute.

So he had assumed right, Lucio was uncomfortable. Jake wasn't sure what to do with this information. He tucked it in the back of his mind for the time being. The man explained his reasoning but Jake wasn't sure he should believe it. Tragic break up? There it was again. Why was he so intent on bringi g up the past. Perhaps he was trying to get Jake to snap. He always was the best at mind games. Well this time he was out of luck. He suggested he'd make tea and Jake twisted his face in disgust. "I hate tea". That's something he should have known, or perhaps he did and didn't care to admit it. Still, Jake let the demon go on to do whatever he pleased. So he wanted to know what it is that Jake wants. The demon thought for a moment before pushing himself away from the door and walking back towards the apartment. He really hadn't stayed this long since he left. The place hadn't changed much, or at all really. "What do I want indeed" he said in a low tone, almost too hard to hear. "I want to know what it is that you want. What is Lucio's greatest desire?". His tone was slightly sinister, but not too much. He didn't want to anger his host. Not bothering to ask before taking a seat, he made himself comfortable in the nearest arm chair, waiting for the response.

Image

"Dinner is ready". Best words he's heard all day. Matt quickly helped Vera set the table before taking a seat. The food smelled amazing, even the mashed potatoes he had made. He noticed the fancy plates and smiled slightly. "What's the occasion?" he asked curiously. He didn't hesitate to begin eating. Just as expected, the food tasted incredible. He woundered if he would ever be able to make something like that. He tried not to eat it all too fast, even though he was starving. He wanted to get a proper taste of the food. If he ate it too fast he would hardly be able to enjoy it. Plus he was getting to spend some time with his girlfriend, something his pack hadn't let him do in a while. Not on purpose. Things just always ended up getting complicated when he was with them and ended up getting home pretty late, but his top priority had to be Verena.

Image

Library huh? "That explains everything" she said simply. Eli never answered his phone when he went to the library to study, something he really should change. If an emergency were to happen while he's there, he wouldn't find out until it was too late. Eli returned the question and Eliana thought about her answer foe a while. "At school" she said, remaining silent for a couple of seconds "with Timothy". She finally added. Eli knew Tim. He knew he was a good guy, so there was no reason for him to be upset. She did spend a good amount of time with him, but it was just a friendship. Hunter rules didn't allow it to go any further. Hunters could only date and marry other hunters to keep the legacy going as long as possible. Something Eliana always found ridiculous.

"I hate tea" Lucio ignored the comment for the fact that he did not care. The tea was not for Jake it was Lucio. He enjoyed relaxing with a nice hot cup of tea. And the blue eyed demon wasn't leaving so he was just going to relax with him here. He started boiling the water when Jake finally made his way through the apartment. He picked out a tea bag, set out the honey, and pulled out a mug. Looking in the living room he saw that his guest had made himself comfortable in the chair. Lucio still wasn't serving him tea. "I want to know what it is that you want. What is Lucio's greatest desire?". The demon was slightly confused and angered. He did not take lightly to being mocked. If Jakub was still the naive idiot he was back then, Lucio would have immediately put him in his place. But Jakub was stronger and Lucio couldn't break. Breaking would mean that Jake won and he would never let that happen. But the demon thought about the question as he began brewing his tea. Desires? He doesn't really remember what it was like to desire something. The last time he did, his desire left leaving Lucio shattered. Now he just does as he pleases. Anything that makes him happy is usually the case with all of his current actions. He took the tea into the living area where Jakub was. He took a seat across from him and sipped his tea slowly. "I desire nothing." he stated simply. He took another long sip of his warm tea. "I no longer have the passion to desire anything." he added.

Eliana bought it. She believed Elias was at the library which meant he did not have to explain himself further. If he had expanded the lie anymore than he had, it would have given him away. He did feel horrible for not responding to any of her messages and next time he will make sure that he at least texts back something to let her know that he wasn't dead. Elie had answered the question. The hunter raised his eyebrow at the word Tim. She was with a boy. There was nothing wrong with Timothy. He was a great guy and was really nice to everyone that he met. It was the fact that Elie was with a boy that semi shocked him. That was almost unheard of. Eli was happy for her, though her relationship with Tim could never reach pass friendship. That was the rules of the society. Marry within the society, continue the legacy. Elias determined that he was going to end up dying alone because of the rule. Not many people in the society were like him or even understood him. It was best just to keep to himself. "Do you like him?' He was just curious.

Image

Verena sat down and took a bite of the food. It was amazing. Even the mashed potatoes were flawless. Because of that she was definitely eager to see him cook an entire dinner tomorrow. She might make it monthly thing if he does really good. Mathias was clearly in love with the food. He was almost half way done with his plate. He always had a hard time savoring the food that she cooked not that she ever minded. She would cook him more food if she had too. He had made about the plates, but she decided not to answer. She was to hungry to come up with something witty. "The mashed potatoes are great babe." she said with a smile.

Lucio was no longer treating him like the victim like he had been when he first got here, which meant that the other could clearly see he was no longer easily breakable. Any other time he would have been happy about it, but right now that only worked against him. Regardless of how badly it hurt his insodes, he needed to level down the attitude, perhaps show some aspects of the older Jakub that Lucio loved to push around so much. According to him, he had no desires, but Jake didn't think that was at all true. He spoke as if Jakub had been the bad guy for leaving, as if that had bothered him so much. "There has to be something you want". The demon came over and sat across from him a little too close for comfort. Jake thought on his feet. What would the old Jake do in this situation. He remembered an old nervous habit. Whenever he felt nervous or scared he tended to play with any jewelery he was wearing. He had long since lost that habit along with many other things, but he remembered it very clearly. He also remembered how nervous he would become whenever Lucio sat too close to him. "Idn't this what you wanted? Me coming to you for help?" he said, casually pulling on the tiny crescent moon that hung from his neck. Lucio had said so himself, he would keep making his life hell until Jake came running to him for mercy. "Well here I am...so what do I do now?" he asked in a very sour tone. .

Image

Eli didn't say anything about her being with a boy for a while. Elie was relieved. Unfortunately it didn't last long. "Do you like him?". The question caught Alien very much off guard foe a few reasons. One, Eli never really asks questions about anything. Be he could just be trying to look out for her. Two, the answer that immediately popped into her head almost scared her. "Yeah" she said with a shrug, deciding to play dumb. She knew what kind of Like eli meant, but she was going to pretend otherwise. "He's a good friend, why wouldn't I?". She continued to walk, hoping Eli wouldn't try to explain what he meant. She didn't want to lie to her brother, and she needed to tell someone, but if she said it out loud it would become reality. That's something Eliana did not want to face. She always opted to stay as far away from guys as possible, so how had Tim ever managed to get this close?

Image

Mathias was congratualted on his cooking efforts and he smiled brightly. "Thank you!" he took another bite of the steak and smiled. "But this is better" he said, referring to the meat on his fork. Maybe he wouldn't do such an awful job at cooking after all, he just had to keep it simple. Eventually he finished eating. Verena was no where near done, so he just stay in his seat to keep her company. "so how did your day go today, aside from meeting that fallen angel" Matt asked, wondering where she would want to hang the feather she brought. He also thoifhr about putting up a picture of Verena. He couldn't frame her but he could certainly frame a photograph. He examined the wall carefully, looking for a good location.

"There has to be something you want" Lucio was wondering why Jakub was being so persistent on his needs. He has never cared before. In fact, Jake had made it a point to make sure that this demon knew how much he hated him. But now the blue eyed demon wanted to cater to his needs. Wanted to know what he desired. Lucio was confused. Completely and utterly confused. This had to be a game. That would be the only thing that made sense. Jakub was playing a game with him. He did not appreciate the idea of being a pawn. Jakub must have thought that he was that strong to the point where he could be used as a toy. The demon refrained from smirking. Lucio took another sip of his tea, as the confusing demon moved closer. Jake was doing the thing he used to do when he was nervous. He would toy with some jewelry that he would have on. "Well here I am...so what do I do now?" Lucio wasn't expecting him to cave so soon. When he made that threat to him so many years ago, he was expecting the blue eyed demon to fight forever. But to actually have him here, begging for mercy. This threw him off, but he wasn't going to give that away. The demon took another sip of his tea. "Well, this is a sight to see." He teased a bit. "Tell me, my pet. Is there a catch? Are you using yourself as a bargaining chip?" He asked as he placed the tea cup back down. "To get you, what is it you want me to do?" That would determine whether or not it would be worth it to keep Jakub.

Image

Though his sister said yes, he was unsure if him and his sibling were talking about the same thing. "He's a good friend, why wouldn't I?" Elias quickly realized that his sister did actually like this boy, but she wasn't going to admit. He wasn't going to bother her about it. It wouldn't get them anywhere. He just nodded and continued following her through her route. Eli put his gun, back in his holster. There was no activity going on and was sick of holding it. He regrets not bringing a book to read.

Image

Verena was still eating by the time Mathias finished his food. He stayed at the table though and waited for her to finish like any gentleman should. She sipped her water. "so how did your day go today, aside from meeting that fallen angel" The demon shrugged and placed her glass back down. "It was rather boring and lonely. Meeting that angel was the most interesting part of my day." She stated kind of sad. She doesn't do much since hunters are always after her. And she can't openly kill people like she used to, so she is always bored. Except when Matt is around. He keeps her entertained.

Pet? The demon was asking for it. Jakub was beyond annoyed with his arrogance. Maintain his cool had to be the hardest thing he had done in a while. On the bright side, his arrogance meant that he had bought the act. Jakub continued to mess around with his pendent as if he hadn't even realized he was doing so and let out a sigh. "Of course there's a catch" he answered simply. Lucio wouldn't believe him if he just willingly gave in without asking for anything in return. NOt to mention that there would be no point to any of this if Jakub didn't ask for what he wanted. "What happened between you and I is between you and I. There's no reason why Verena should have to pay for it." of course Jake wanted to give his best friend his freedom, but he also wanted his own. However if he asked for too much Lucio would turn him away immediately. "I give you want you want and you give her and her boyfriend protection from the hunters". Lucio was more than capable of doing that. The question now was, what did he want in return? "anything except me dying is fair game". Jakub was more than confident. The old Jakub that Lucio loved to push around was completely gone, and the new Jakub was just as sinister and careless as him.

Image

Eli put his gun away and so did Elie. There was absolutely nothing going on tonight. They hadn't run into a single demon. Not even one, and there were absolutely no other supernaturals around. Even the vampires were staying out of the streets. The hunter sighed and ran a hand through her hair. "That demon is starting to irritate me for many different reasons" she muttered, referring to the fact that he had completely scared away their job. If nothing showed up in the next few minutes, Elie decided they would just go back home. In the midst of the silence there was a low buzzing sound, followed by a similar one right after. Elie pulled out her phone to look at the flashing screen. IMPORTANT: All areas are clear. Proceed as usual. Elie sighed in relief. Maybe now they would get to have some fun. Unfortunately, they didn't get to catch Sting, but there was always next time.

Image

Vera said her day was boring and Matt frowned. If he could go to work with her to make her day fun he would, but he needed to work as well and they probably wouldn't allow him where she worked. Which brought up a question. What exactly did Vera do. Matt knows that she hunts down rogue creatures, but then what? He never thought to ask. Maybe now was a good time. He was getting ready to do so, but his phone's vibration in his pocket interrupted him. The wolf pulled out the device and read the message out loud, immediately feeling relieve. It seemed like Jakub had gone straight home after all. Still, it was probably best for Vera to stay inside, and for Jakub to do the same for the next few days.
