Emily was tired. Sure she was a jogger bout this was sprinting, up stairs. She stopped when she reached the top of the steps to catch her breath. She was on the third floor? She looked around, she had lost him; jeez that kid was fast, but ghosts probably were. Now she was lost, tired, and alone in the dark while commuting a crime. Wonderful. She tried to wander down the hall trying to find a door. She was being silly he had to be somewhere, there's no such thing as ghosts. She wasn't having mug luck, she couldn't really see becauseshe had dropped her phone somewhere along the run up here and there were no audible noises besides her own breathing and steps.

Zelda walked in and tried to look around, but it was too dark. The only light came from Mark's light and Emily's phone which didn't really light up the place that much. That's when Mark said he'd found him and curiousity pushed her to go and see. She looked at the boy and then the painting and gasped. He ran passed them and Emily followed him. "Emily come back!" She yelled after her friend and then spun around to look at Mark. "Who the hell was that Mark? I swear to God if this is one of your tricks I'm going to literally kill you in your sleep." She said, trying to sound angry, but sounded more spooked then anything.

Mark Weber

Mark stared at Arthur as he ran past, looking over at Zelda when she yelled at him - or at least tried to. "It wasn't one of my friends, I wasn't planning on coming in here tonight. If I was going to scare you guys I would have just told a very scary story, but I wasn't really feeling up to an elaborate prank tonight. I swear, that's the ghost," he said, a slight wobble to his voice - hardly noticable.

Arthur Faustus

Arthur decided that he had been hiding long enough and he slipped out from behind the bookcase, and started to head towards the door, when he tripped over a chair. He flipped over the top of the chair and landed on the small coffee table next to it. The coffee table broke with a loud crack as Arthur fell on it. Arthur winced in pain, "Ow..." He started to push himself off of the broken table.

Emily swallowed hard at a loud crash nearby. Oh crap. Well now she definitely couldn't just convince herself it was a ghost and leave. She heard a voice. She followed the sounds. "Hello?" She whispered loudly. "Is someone there?" She really didn't want to admit it but she was scared out of her witts. She scanned around the darkness, nit really seeing too much due to huge lack of light. She really hoped she didn't trip over something in the darkness or accidentally bump into someone. She took small careful steps slowly being meticulously sure to try to slide her feet so she would be less likely to trip. It took all she had to keep herself from shaking violently in her terror, this scary story had gone much to far for her likings.

Arthur Faustus

Arthur looked up at the voice, Well, she's heard me and seen me, so I might as well give up. He pulled a small box of matches out of his pocket and walked over to a small table next to the chair, lighting a candle. The light can be seen from the hallway, under the door. He puts the match out and brushes himself off, straightening his suit. He gave a soft sigh as he looked at the destroyed coffee table, "Well I'll have to do something with that later...."

Emily froze at the striking of a match and new light. A door. She moved over to it her hand shaking as it reached out to touch the door. She placed her hand on the old fashioned knob and asked "Wh-who's there?" she closed her eyes and took a deep breath and turned. She hesitate before pushing the door open and leaning back a bit almost as if she expected someone to jump around the corner at her. Nothing. She swallowed hard and exhaled as she took a step into the library. She kept her eyes closed, afraid to open them. She took another deep breath an on the exhale she opened her eyes.

Arthur Faustus

Arthur looked up as the door opened and the girl who was chasing him appeared in the room. Arthur instictively took a few steps back away from her. A small flash of fear appeared in his eyes, before he looked down towards the floor of the library. He knelt down and started to pick up the larger pieces of the broken coffee table. He flipped the two halves over and started to place the smaller pieces ontop of them.

Sammie was over looking at some books on the shelf. She heard Emily scream and Zelda run after her. Sammie ran over to where Mark was standing. "What's going on?" she watched as Emily ran up the stairs. "Where is she going? Is she trying to get herself killed?"

"Emily chased after the ghost for some reason. Let's go find her to make sure she's alright. And she doesn't get her soul eaten if the stories are right," he said as he started up the stairs, half way up the second flight, he noticed Emily's phone and he picked it up, placing it in his pocket quietly. He then continued up the stairs, looking for Emily.

Came running through the door moments after the scream, just in time to hear Mark explain what happened. He blinked, confusion was evident on his face, "She ran after the ghost? What the hell?" He sounded bewildered but shrugged lightly, "Ah, never mind, you're right though. We need to find her soon." He followed after Mark, only looking back to say, "Come on you two, we better not get separated."

"Wait up Mark." Sammie yelled running after him. She noticed Mark pick up Emily's phone before she was standing next to him. She started walking a little further when she heard a voice. She turned back to Mark. "Did you hear that?" she asked in a slight whisper. "Emily is that you?" She called out a little louder. She continued to walk and noticed a faint light coming under one of the doors. The door was cracked open. Sammie opened the door and looked in. It was a library she took a step in the door before seeing Emily walking around. She quietly walked over to Emily not wanting to scare her or whatever she was looking for. "Emily, are you okay?" She whispered once she was closer to her. She glanced behind her to see if Mark had come in.

Emily silently bent down, balancing on the balls of her feet, to help the stranger pick up the pieces of broken table up and place them inside the small box created by the flipped over larger halves. She stood up when she heard her friends coming. She wasn't too sure what to do. She figured since when she looked up again the boy was no longer there, that he wasn't really up for talking to them. She strode over toward her friends and the door. " I um, found a match in the drawer. But honestly, I really think we should just get the hell out o here. This place is creepy. " at this point she wasn't even sure I what she had seen was real; maybe it was just her imagination, or maybe it truly was a ghost.

Zelda was the last one up the stairs, silently following behind Ivan. She was still in shock and couldn't believe that the boy might actually be a real ghost. Once they found a room with light in it, she stayed out of it and in the hallway. She wasn't liking this at all and was much prefering to leave right then and there. She sighed as she leaned up against the wall oposite of the door and looked around her. This was definitely not what she was wanting to do tonight.

Mark walked into the room after Sammie, switching off his flashlight. "Are you okay Emily? What happened to the table?" he asked as he walked over to them quickly. "What were you thinking chasing after the ghost? You could've been hurt or something. By the way, here's your phone," he said, handing the phone out to Emily.

Arthur Faustus

When Arthur heard more voices coming, he stood up quietly and walked over to a bookshelf, pulling a book off the shelf and pressed the button that was revealed. The bookshelf moved quietly to reveal a small passageway, Arthur walked in quietly and started down the passage, the bookshelf moving back. In the hallway, the painting, next to the door to the library, swung open slowly and Arthur stepped out quietly.

Emily bought herself some time to make a good excuse. "I sort of crashed into it. It was dark, I wasn't pay much attention. " she looked down at his hands, she took the phone. "Thanks." She was having trouble trying to come up an answer to his question. She honestly didn't know why she had chased after him; it was stupid. " I'm sorry. I wasn't thinking. I guess I was just curious..."

Ivan stood outside with Zelda. He leaned against the opposite wall with his arms cross over he chest, "You alright over there?" He raised a brow at her, thinking that he couldn't blame her. After all, this was pretty out there even for them. With a shake of his head, he unfolded his arms and looked into the room for a moment, checking to make sure that they were alright before turning back to Zelda, "Hey, think of it like this, I haven't died, yet. That mean all of you are in the clear!" He smirks with a goofy thumbs-up.

Arthur Faustus

Arthur looked over at the two people in the hallway and frowned at the male's statement. "You won't die. I'm not going to hurt anyone," he said as he turned to walk down the hallway quietly. Stupid stories that people make up about me give me a bad image....., he thought to himself as he walked down the hallway.

Mark Weber

Mark looked at Emily and gave a small sigh, "Well at least you're alright. I wonder where he went," he said as he looked around the room for any clues as to the direction he went. "What do you guys think?" he asked as he turned towards Emily and Sammie.

Ivan jumped a bit at the new voice, his eyes darting to the 'ghost'. He blinked a few times, "Uh... Right, it was a joke." He said almost apologetically. Ivan wasn't sure what to do though, WAS the newcomer a ghost or what? He shook his head, unable to come up with an answer himself, "It's just, you know, this place is somewhat... creepy." A bead of sweat ran down the side of Ivan's face, obviously he was freaked out.

Arthur Faustus

Arthur stopped next to a candlestick and pulled out his box of matches, and lit the candles which illuminate the hallway a bit. "It is?" he asked as he turned back to Ivan and Zelda, a curious look on his eyes. He placed the box of matches back in his pocket and put his hands in his pockets. "Please forgive me, I seem to have forgotten to introduce myself. I am Prince Arthur Faustus," he said giving a small bow.

Ivan eyes the gesture for a moment before repeating it, "I'm Ivan Osrick." He looked back to Arthur, still somewhat unnerved by him. He would shoot a glance in Zelda's direction for a moment, only to have it swing back to the Prince just as fast. "Nice to meet you. So... you live here alone then?" A hand coming up to scratch the back of his head, trying to calm himself down as thoughts raced through his head.

Arthur Faustus

Arthur nodded slightly at Ivan's question. "I do, and I have for the past 100 years. And no I'm not dead, I am alive - just cursed," he said, anticipating the question that was sure to come. Arthur walked closer to them, pulling out his box of matches once again and lighting the next set of candles, allowing the hallway to be illuminated more. When he looked up at them, a sad and lonely look appeared in his eyes. He gave a small smile, still a good 15 steps away from them, giving him a rather good headstart if they decided to go after him or something.

Sammie looked up at Mark. "I didn't see him, so I have no idea. But I think we should find Zelda and Ivan before we do anymore exploring." Sammie headed back to the hall way where she again noticed the light. She turned back to Mark and Emily. "Guys there is light in the hall." she peaked her head out the door and noticed Ivan and Zelda standing by the wall. Beyond them she could see a dark figure standing by light candles. She was still to far away to see what it was. So she walked closer and stood behind Zelda. "What is it?" She asked softly.

Emily followed the sound of a voice speaking into the hallway in order to just have caught the strange boy from earlier telling Ivan his name. "A hundred years?" She aksed skeptically. "That's impossible. You couldn't have lived here for a hundred years. You're simply not old enough. And besides you can't be the prince, hes been dead and this castle has been abandoned for years." She pointed out matter-o-factly. "What exactly do you mean cursed? Theres no such thing as curses." Next he would be spewing claims of magic and witchcraft. Emily wandered over beside the stranger she stared up at the paintings that lined the wall in awe.

Mark followed Sammie and Emily out of the room and noticed the guy, and stared at him. "I agree, there is no such thing as curses." He folded his arms as he stared at the guy, waiting for his excuse.

Arthur Faustus

Arthur looked at them all, "Its true, I was cursed to never age and never die if my father - the King - wouldn't promise to take the life of anyone else ever again. The woman who cursed me was upset with my father because her son died fighting for the kingdom. So she cursed me, and my father couldn't make that promise and so here I am, 100 years later, the same age as I was when I was cursed. I haven't aged or died, although people have tried to take my life. I assure you though, I am the Prince, the son of the old King, and I'm not a ghost."

"But why would the lady curse you if she was mad at your father?" Sammie took a step closer to the so called prince, trying to get a better look at him. She studied his face, he was a young bot but his face looked so sad and lonely.
