nicknames: sooky brooky
age: eighteen
birthdate: january third, 2001
sexuality: straight
hometown: beaumont hills
hex: #156815
APPEARANCE
Despite Brooks' height and muscles built through lacrosse and other outdoorsy activities, he has a youthful look. Like a young boy, he's never without some superficial injury. Skinned knees, splinters in his fingers or gravel rash from falling off his bike, are all pretty common. As such, his body is littered with careless scars; a gouge out of his left knee from jumping off the roof, a slit through his chin from trying to jump the creek on a skateboard, and so on. He also has the rune for family tattooed on his right calf.
ABILITIES
PERSONA
Brook is an easily irritated kind of guy, his grandma jokes that he was born on the wrong side of the bed, and any minor inconvenience can set off his grumpy gene. Hence why his brother's have taken to calling him 'Sooky Brooky'. He has no patience for anything, and will be openly resentful of being forced to do something he doesn't want to. Brook is a 'good enough' sort of guy and lacks the patience or effort to strive for perfection in anything, as such he can't stand fussy, perfectionist type people. They drive him nuts.
Growing up in a house of twelve guys, Brook's is always going to a little bit too much 'boy', he's not going to hide a burp or fart, or curb his language in front of an elderly lady. In his house there is always noise and activity, lots of laughter at someone's expense and roughhousing. So for Brook being surrounded by people is his natural state, he loves to laugh and joke around, even though most of his jokes are insensitive and involve giving someone shit. He doesn't have a care for people who are timid and uncomfortable around his insensitive, boisterous nature.
Brook is a very dependable person. Despite his free-spirited approach to life, he's practical, not prone to big dreams and an airy fairy nature. He likes working with his hands, and with an old, rotting house, there is always a project that needs his attention. The Delaney's are all natural builders, not real bookworm-y types. Brook also learnt growing up that family will always trump everything else. Even when his brothers call him 'sooky Brooky' and drive him up the wall, he will always be there when they call on him. Helping them move furniture, picking them up at 4am from the middle of nowhere, or beating up someone who messed with them, that's just what you do for family. Both his flesh and blood family, and the people he considers family. He's a sturdy guy, who means what he says and will always turn up when you need him. Delaney's know how to do the right thing, which is why Brook knows he'll eventually take over for his grandmother even if the idea of it repulses him.
HISTORY
Brook's mother is the druid, with his father being a local carpenter she picked up in high school. Together they filled their house with 11 boys, Brook being number 7 and unfortunately the one with the most potential as a druid. Their grandmother lives in a small shack out the back of the property where all the boys have to go and study magic despite their protests. She had a tendency to blather on, and they'd all rather be at the beach, or down by the creek. Brook has always understood the need to pass on the ancestral knowledge, he just wished it wasn't him who had to do it.
When Brook was 7, the leader of the werewolves was killed, and his mother served her role as a druid of Beaumont Hills by bringing him back from the dead, sacrificing her own life to do it. His grandmother claims it was a noble and necessary sacrifice to protect Beaumont Hills, and maybe it was. But ever since then Brook has held a small but growing resentment for werewolves and supernaturals, as far as he's concerned the Delaney's have sacrificed enough and they shouldn't just be expected to work for them.
