Small Biography:

Marcey's family grew up everywhere with a name. Her mother and father, knowing death was riding their tail, took Marcey from state to state. They never settled long enough for her to get attached to anyone. Marcey never knew she was different though. She didn't know that she had been cursed at birth and that she was running away from a fate that wasn't in her own control. Her life consisted of take out, hotel room keys, and of course, her mom and dad. The only home she ever knew was the back seat of her moms 2012 Grand Caravan. Until that dreadful day. Death finally caught up, swinging in and running the Parker car into a light pole in the middle of Wisconsin, killing both of Marcey's parents. Things settled down though, Marcey's uncle Gregory came and stayed with her and she finally had a place to call "house". Since no place was ever going to be home again. Well, she fell in love with a guy named Declan. He was her best friend and they did everything together. He was the only reason Marcey survived the never-ending drunkard rants of her uncle at night.

As we all know though, love never ends well for a siren. In Wisconsin's sketchy downtown, death came in and took Declan with a bullet to the lung. He had jumped in front of Marcey, saving her from the sudden drive-by. She held him in her arms as he took his last gasping breaths.

Returning that night, after being beaten and belittled by the whiskey-ranking uncle, she found out the truth. She not only felt alone, but she had a new found self hatred, for she no longer trusted that Declan ever loved her for her, maybe she just wanted him to love her so badly that she manipulated and created an unrealistic love. One that got him killed. Having lost all she ever felt to be important to her, she ran away. She took all of the life insurance her mother and father had left for her, (which wasn't much), and hit the highway. Next thing you know, she wound up on the door step of Hawthorne.

So begins...

Kyra Rye Shade

It's getting worse, was Kyra first thought after leaving the Nurse's and heading toward... anywhere away from all the people. She had only been here for two days and already the place was annoying her. So many people around and all the noises! Kyra wandered out into the courtyard and found herself a secluded place.

Letting out a sigh, she changed into her tiger form. She was so relieved to be in her tiger skin that her striped hide seemed to shiver. Walking silently around her area she threw herself down and tried her best to forget what happened in the Nurse's office. It wasn't working until she began to paw the air and wiggle about in the ground. Slowly, her eyelids began to droop and... she was asleep.

Shrade Stryder

Shrade, who was in his dog form, was lying on the ground and enjoying his nap when someone stepped on his tail. Like any injured animal he yelped out in pain and scrabbled to his paws. He whipped around ready to growl at the person who stepped on his tail but found himself looking up at a girl. Brown hair, warm brown eyes and shy looking. His hackles went down and his curled red tail began to wag.

Shrade shifted into his human form and smiled. "Um... I supposed this is the part where you apologize for stepping on my tail?" He cocked his head and acting a bit like a dog he offered a toothy grin. "Oh, uh, sorry. Salutations? My name is Shrade Stryder and yours is?"

Kyra Rye Shade & Shrade Stryder

Kyra woke up in a bad mood. She had thought the courtyard to be... secluded. But it obviously isn't... She thought angrily before shifting into her human form. Her brown hair was in tangles and her golden eyes were thin and slitted like a cats. She looked as she felt. "Watch where your going!" She bared her teeth at the female human before whipping around and stalking out of the courtyard and into school, off to find herself a moment of so-called peace.

Shrade watched Kyra and let out a huff of laughter before addressing Marcey. "Nice to meet you Marcey, although I can't say my sister would say the same thing." He wrinkled his nose as if smelling the air for her scent. "By the way, my name is spoken like Charades just without the S at the end... and I suggest you ask someone that actually has an answer to your question." Just like that, he shifted back into his dog form and sat down, watching Marcey with emotionless eyes.

Meanwhile, Kyra Rye Shade was busy glaring daggers at anyone who met her eyes. Tigers are not meant to be in a school. She thought to herself as she turned a corner. School. Academy, whatever they want to call it is a bad idea. She began to cough. Idiotic humans. Her lungs began to ache and her coughing became worse. She lifted an arm to cover her mouth. That's was when she noticed the blood on her sleeve. Glancing up to make sure that no one else had noticed she began to walk quickly, searching for place to be alone. It took her awhile but she found an empty classroom where she closed the door and sat against the far wall.

Kyra pulled a bottle of pills out of her pockets, opened it and took three small white pills. Gulping them down without water she made a face. "It's getting worse... So much worse."

"...and I suggest you ask someone that actually has an answer to your question." He said very bluntly as he turned into a dog. So that was the tail I stepped on.. Marcey thought to herself, although she had expected the dog to be a lot larger, like the traditional wolf. She turned away, walking slowly toward the main building, bag in hand. I guess that is the irony of this place, all the monsters that people use to terrify each other, seem to be a lot less frightening. First impressions ARE very important after all. She laughed at herself as she stepped up the last steps and pushed the closest door open.

Marcey was comforted by the quick burst of cool air flooding outside through the open door. She stepped inside and found herself in the center of a large hall. There was a guy walking down the hall towards her. "Are you looking for the office too?" She called out to the stranger as he walked angrily along. "To find out our rooming?" She continued. He noticed her then, glancing over in her direction. "Do you speak?"

The boy walked past her easily, like he never noticed she existed. She shrugged this off and slowly walked in the other direction. Not long after, she found herself in a small lobby. She entered the office slowly and spoke to the woman at the counter. "My name is Mar-" The woman handed her a slip of paper with a room number on it. Marcey looked up at the woman, who extended her arm to the right, and put her forearm in the air, as if to represent upstairs. She stood awkwardly for a moment then thanked the woman for helping her.

Marcey then set off to find her room, only focusing on one foot after the other. When she finally saw her door, and turned toward it and knocked surely. "Hi, I'm Marcey, I guess I'm your roommate." She said to the girl who opened the door. She was pretty, and welcomed Marcey sweetly.

When welcomed in, Marcey laid her things out on her bed, and began putting up her clothes. "Oh, thank you so much that would be lovely, showing me around if you may." When she finished unpacking, she fixed her pillow on the bed, and laid her schoolbag beside her bed. She hadn't brought much, but the two things that actually mattered, were her photos. Photos of her mom and dad, and of Declan.

"So why are you here?" She turned to Kylee curiously. "I mean, I kill people. Wait that didn't come out right. People love me, and then die. If that makes sense. It doesn't make much sense to me, but it tends to happen." She shuffled in her shoes, nervously awaiting for something to change in the silence.

"So how bout that tour..?"

K
ylee led her through the long halls. Door after door passed by her, as she was lost in thought. She knew she wouldn't remember anything from the tour, but slowly followed after Kylee looking at what Kylee looked at and giving small nods to signify the meaningless acknowledgment.

Words scrambled in her mind, trying to describe perfectly what Declan's reaction would be to this place. He had always been the one to go for the adventure, scavenging through this false pretense of reality to find something deeper. As if the everyday process of being the normal human being wasn't enough. Although to Marcey, he was more than a dream come true.

"I like this one" She turned to see him standing under a large painting on the wall. An angel with large black wings reached down to help a fallen angel with white wings. It sat helplessly in the middle of the forest. Marcey was in awe, amazed as to seeing him, and also at the complexity of the artwork. The angel reaching down held out his hand so delicately, with grace only an angel could possess. That or the artist who created it. When Marcey realized that Kylee had moved forward and she was slacking, she turned back to the painting. Declan was gone, and there was only a single angel.Image. The thought of him being gone once again made her sick, but she quickly caught up to Kylee. She missed him so much, but reality was what she was bound to focus on.

When she reached Kylee, she turned back once more to see if Declan was gone for good, and he was. She was mad for checking again, but when she imagines him she feels a little at home. Her favorite memories of him were his laugh and his smile, and those are the things that haunted her with every footstep the day brought. She suddenly thought of Kylee listening to her thoughts. This of course made her try not to think of him or her eavesdropping, but she felt violated at the simple thought of someone else seeing her vulnerability.

"It doesn't work all the time. Some people I wish it would kill and it just doesn't. I don't really understand.. Three weeks ago I thought I was just a girl with bad luck, when it turned out I was the bad luck." She felt like she was about to cry, and suddenly wanted more than anything to just escape. "Does this lead outside??" She was surprised by the sound of desperateness in her voice as she swung the large door open.

It was dark out. She was thankful for that, for tears ran down the length of her face and neck. She rubbed her eyes quickly, and sniffled. When she opened her eyes she noticed the light that swerved through the trees and caught Marcey's eye. "Someone is out there." She said as she ran toward it. Light's are good, she thought. Unless of course it means creatures and monsters and thieves and stuff She ran through the woods with these words, and quickly found herself in front of two guys. "Oh, I was right." She muttered through her heavy breathing. She listened carefully for Kylee, unsure if she had been followed.

"I uh.. this looks serious. What drug we dealing here?" She laughed at herself, but the uneasiness was unsettling. "I guess I should.. just.. go.." She stepped backwards and knocked into a log she had forgotten she had hurtled. She hit the ground hard, and was even less impressed with the first impressions she had made. "My name is Marcey. Like Marley and me but spelled and sounding different.. So I guess no relation.. forget I mentioned that." She shuffled to her feet quickly, feeling worse than she did inside.

"So what is it you would like to discuss boy?" Duncan said through a fairly thick Scottish accent.

John pulled out the ledger given to him by a priest in Jerusalem, and began to speak.

"I need to know, is all this supernatural lore true? Because if so, I need to know you're on my side. I need an ally, someone I can trust."

John was taking a shot in the dark, but it was true. He needed an ally, especially in Washington, he didn't know much about the area, but he knew enough to know that there was no way he'd make a year without getting an assignment. The moment Duncan finished speaking, they were interrupted.

"I uh.. this looks serious. What drug we dealing here?" The girl laughed at herself, despite the seriousness of the conversation she had interrupted. "I guess I should.. just.. go.." She stepped backwards and knocked into a log she had forgotten she had hurtled. She hit the ground hard. "My name is Marcey. Like Marley and me but spelled and sounding different.. So I guess no relation.. forget I mentioned that."

"Sit," John said, getting up and offering his seat as he made his way to a small wood pile he had gathered. He tossed a few logs into the flame, and made his way to the log that Marcy had tripped over, and sat down on it.

"Where you two from." John spoke with very little emotion, as he nervously popped his blades in and out.

Duncan watched as John pulled out his ledger cautiously. It was the same ledger he had ripped the page from ear lier and handed to him. "I need to know, is all this supernatural lore true? Because if so, I need to know you're on my side. I need an ally, someone I can trust." At that Duncan pursed his lips and looked up to the skies. He knew something was up to be asking these type of questions, but Duncan was unsure on how much information he should let up. Surely he couldn't tell John everything, but he could confirm his belief. With that in mind he finally looked back at John. Crossing his arms, he studied him for a moment, reasoning with himself if what he said about needing an ally was right. An ally for what? What was coming that he needed an ally for?

Sighing, Duncan uncrossed his arm. "Aye, 'this supernatural lore' is true. As you may have already guessed, I'm a Lycanthrope, or a Lycan, or more commonly know as a werewolf. As for other beings, well... you name it, they're true. Vampires, succubuses, witches, mermaids, anything really. Those stories your mum may have told you about ghosts and demons coming to get you, may very well all be true. We're out there, prowling the dark streets at night, or," he opened his arms wide and spun around, "in plain view. You just don't know it... well until now I guess," he conceded shrugging his shoulders.

He looked to John then to read what emotions may play upon his face when the girl walked in on them. Duncan had heard her approaching, he just didn't know how to stop her from intruding without getting John suspicious and following behind him. He wasn't sure how much she had heard, he just hoped it wasn't much, Duncan didn't want her to get involved in something heavy like this; it was safer for her and Duncan had always been one to protect. "I uh.. this looks serious. What drug we dealing here?" She may have asked what drugs they were dealing but it could've been a decoy to throw them off of what she really heard. I guess he wouldn't know.

As John asked her, nay, commanded her to sit, Duncan took up a spot leaning against the tree. The fire glow danced across his face as he looked at the girl. She seemed young and innocent, but looks were deceiving. "Where you two from." John spoke with very little emotion, as he nervously popped his blades in and out. Duncan watched warily as John played with his blades, the smell of silver stingy his nose. He was the first to speak up after his question, "take a wild guess laddie," his Scottish burr answering his question.

M
arcey was surprised by the seriousness of the boy's tone. "Sit" he commanded as he stood up and offered her a seat. Everything seemed so tense, as the next few moments dragged on through the silence. Everything in her body urged her to get up and run as fast as she could, but something told her that the average Rape whistle wouldn't save her in a place like this.

The flames grew in the fire, with every collapse of the charred logs. Each time the specks of fire rose in the air, they highlighted the faces of the guys. The thought of them seeing the fear written on her face was deafening. Marcey grabbed the necklace that laid loose against her neck, feeling the slightest sense of relief from the surrounding tension.

"Where you two from." John spoke with very little emotion, as he nervously popped his blades in and out. Marcey sat staring at the blades in his hand. She gathered by the way he was dressed and the way he fiddled with something that could kill everyone around, he was one to show authority to.

If only he knew that love can kill easier than a jab of that blade. she thought to herself, oblivious to the reply from the other boy. When she realized he has spoken, she noticed that he too was staring at the cadavers. "Everywhere and no where." She muttered it humorously. "I am not even joking. I liked Utah pretty well. Alabama really sucks. Colorado was fun, but not half way as cool as Oregon. Wisconsin though.. well never mind" She shook her head in disbelieve that she had even mentioned it. "We are all here right now, so that is what we can focus on. If that's okay?" She sat silently, expecting the drawback of an angry hand or a shout of fury. "I mean, where are you from?"

"We are all here right now, so that is what we can focus on. If that's okay?" Marcey sat silently, expecting the drawback of an angry hand or a shout of fury. "I mean, where are you from?"

John thought for a moment, trying to decide on what he should tell her.

"Syria" He answered plainly, as he heard footsteps approaching, those of a young girl.

"Oh, hello." Kylee said, trying to hide her slight fear of the strangers. "Sorry, am I interrupting something?" She stepped back, ready to turn and run at any sign of danger.

John was extremely nervous now. Something here wasn't right.

"I must go." John muttered as he passed Duncan. This meeting didn't go quite the way he planned, he felt something was up. Something wasn't right, and then he heard a few twigs crack, almost a mile out. His first thought was a cleric, and his reflexes kicked in, and so he quickly made his way there, making as little sound as humanly possible. He ran the mile in about 3.5 minutes. He quickly popped both blades out, jumped, pushed off a tree, and was about a foot from the back of her neck, when he noticed it was the girl from earlier, the one Duncan had been with. Both blades went in, and he landed about half a foot from her, rolled to make the landing, and quickly stood up, adrenaline pumping.

"You're lucky." John said somewhat angrily, "I thought you were someone else". He then noticed the cut on her leg. He remembered the herbology class he was forced to take back in Alamut, from the age of 14-18. Yarrow he thought. He grabbed a handful from a bush not too far away, and handed it to her. "Put this on your cuts, it'll help" He said plainly before making his way up a tree, over the wall, and back to the school.

Duncan Wallace

He had smelt that scent before, but he was unsure where, all he knew was that it was recent. Duncan wasn't even paying attention to the conversation at hand anymore, he was completely lost in thought over where he recognized the smell from. Absentmindedly he realized that another person had joined them. So much for a private meeting.

That was when he saw John bolt from his seat. Duncan had heard his heart hammering in his chest, he was nervous and something was off. He then realized he was left alone with two young girls. Suddenly Duncan himself became uncomfortable. "Ladies..." he looked towards the direction John took off in "excuse our rude behavior but alas, it is time we got moving." He stared to take off after John then, as an after though he called out "pleasure meeting you lasses," and was gone. He was right on John's heels deciding not to pass him because his curiosity was winning over and he desperately wanted to know where he was heading. It didn't take him long to realize the smell becoming stronger, why is it sweet smelling?

Oh. That was all he thought when they had finally stopped and he looked down at where the smell was coming from. It's her! Damn, how hadn't I have known? Something was seriously wrong. People didn't usually smell like this unless... unless they were fading away. Damn, he felt like an ass for having been so rude and angry with her before. He needed to make it up.

Duncan watched as John helped the girl, she had a sizable cut on her leg, and he was doing a fine job of tended to it with... herbs? Oh right, Yarrow. Good thinking smart ass, he thought. And before Duncan could do anything, he was gone. He glared at the area where John had once been, the lad needs to work on his manners and giving a proper goodbye hope you'll feel better. Well, not that Duncan was any better at it.

He bended down on a knee then next to the girl, "are ye alright?" Concern was clearly etched on his face. She was a stubborn lass but he would never wish harm or ill on anyone.

Marcey was surprised as people exited quickly. It seemed that Kylee had somehow shooed everyone away, and she was grateful. Although, something about the way they had acted made her nervous. Not really nervous, I guess just skeptic. She stood up quickly and stared at Kylee. "Should we go back? I just got curious, I am so sorry. Thank you for actually following me. You didn't know what you would find but.. you came anyway." Marcey walked over to her and hugged her. It felt awkward, guilty and appreciative.

"We should probably just go back" she said, letting go and turning away from Kylee. When the fire died, she realized that she couldn't see any lights from the academy. She turned around, assuming it was the wrong way but found herself stumbling over branches that hadn't been broken. "Do you remember the way back?" She said to a stale silence, unaware if Kylee was anywhere close. Where was she? How had she managed into the darkness and found herself alone. They two guys couldn't be that far away, she thought hoping that somehow she would stumble upon any of them.

"Guys??? Is anyone out there?? Hello??"

Kyra Rye Shade

Kyra Rye Shade's flat out sprint slowed to a trot and then into a walk. She finally shifted into her human form, staggering toward a tree, barely able to catch herself from falling into the trunk. She used her forearm to lean on the tree while also using it hold herself up.

"I'm so dang tired." Kyra exhaled, and let out a short laugh, "I hate cats." She smiled to herself, I wonder what the Wolf thought of it. She snorted, Probably thinks I'm defective, or an abomination. Kyra growled remembering a guy and his family that had come to visit. Jaguar Shapeshifters, friends of her Uncle's Wife. The man had seen her shift into her different forms, and had been disgusted with her. He had obviously knew that she was some sort of hybrid, and that her parents must have been of very different species. His visit ended with him yelling and pointing at her, calling her and her brother abominations.

"Guys??? Is anyone out there?? Hello??"

Her thoughts interrupted, Kyra staggered away from the tree and toward the source of the voice. She ended up stumbling upon the girl her brother had been talking to. "They left... and are no longer in the area." She watched the girl closely, smelling the breeze that drifted her way with Marcey's scent. There was a smidgen of death there. "What do you do? I know your power comes or has something to do with death..."

" They left.. and are no longer in the area." Marcey was nervous, knowing she was alone with someone who earliershe had almost fallen on, as an animal. She could tell the girl was watching her, trying to decide what Marcey was. "What do you do? I know your power comes or has something to do with death..." This startled Marcey, as she hadn't even considered the fact that death was written all over her. She ached. Reality was a pain, as it smacked her in the face once again.

"I think I am a siren. I don't really know how it works, but I accidentally kill people. It's complicated really, and I don't really understand it but you don't really care I am sure. I mean that, I uh. My friend Kylee is at the fire thing I thought she was following me but I got lost." The thought crept in from the darkness of this girl in front of her devouring her in the dead of night. She thought it unlikely, but was silently shaking in her boots. She silently begged for Kylee to read her mind, hoping she would find her and be able to save them both some how. It's not like killing people was a defense mechanism, so in a time of need Marcey knew she was screwed.

These thoughts ran through her mind as she looked around, trying to grab a mental image of every hardly lit thing around her. Do you know where the school is? Wait, are you okay?" The girl stood breathing heavily. "Please tell me you aren't going to die, because I really don't feel that way about you." She joked, trying to make ease of the situation.

"So wolf, you act like you don't like vampires much. Had a few run-ins during your lifetime?" At that he barked out a short laugh. "That's an understatement. Your kind don't know when to leave well enough alone." At the reminder of his abhorrence to some vampires he became disgruntled and a bit furious. Taking in a deep breathe, he calmed himself. No need to get upset Duncan, it's just a conversation. At times like this he really hated his genes. Simple talks easily turned into fights, or threw him into flying rages. I was just something he couldn't help.

He started hearing other voices then. They were distant, but unmistakably female. At that, he motioned for hybrid to follow him. As they made their way to the voices he saw two familiar faces. The other hybrid and the... well he didn't know what the other one was but it was the female that had came in when he was talking with John. John, where was he? He decided to make his appearance known then. "Why are we all still in the forest? Is this like some secret getaway now?" he said sauntering in.

As much as he liked wooden areas, he was getting tired of being in here. Honestly he just wanted to get back to the school and see his dorm and dorm mate. It was getting late so naturally he wanted to see who he would soon be sleeping in the same room with. He needed to know if he needed to sleep with one eye open, or could peacefully sleep the night away.

"Please tell me you aren't going to die, because I really don't feel that way about you." Kyra laughed, "Your not my type, and I know I'm going to-" She stopped talking, hearing the footsteps coming toward them.

Instinctively, she put herself between the noise and Marcey, her teeth bared. Duncan decided to make his appearance known then. "Why are we all still in the forest? Is this like some secret getaway now?" he said sauntering in. Oh, what the hell. Kyra shut her eyes, trying very hard not to lose her temper. "Some of us got lost..." She opened her eyes, glancing back at Marcey, "And needed help getting back to the School." Kyra didn't say anything... She was tired all of a sudden, and was about to fall over, not that she'd let Duncan know that.

T
he girl surprised Marcey suddenly with her lack of hostility. With the returned laugh, Marcey breathed easily in confidence. Even more so, when the girl defended her as another figure made his presents known. It was sort of amazing, how it seemed everyone knew when something would happen before it did. Marcey felt anxious because of her new found oblivion and vulnerability. I guess that is why its good to have friends that growl, she laughed at her own thought.

A man stepped into the little moonlight there actually was and his facial features stood out majorly. "Why are we all still in the forest? Is this like some secret getaway now?" There was discomfort in his voice but his body shape seemed to fit the backdrop of the woods perfectly. Marcey smiled slightly with the thought of not being completely alone in the dark woods.

"Some of us got lost... and needed help getting back to the school." The girl replied to him, diminishing the smile Marcey had. She felt stupid or naive. Marcey somewhat wanted to just be lost again; to be away from the smarter, stronger, more dangerous things that surrounded her. It made the idea of wandering around helplessly a lot more comforting.

"Marcey?" She spun around, the desperateness in Kylee's voice rang out as she walked forward.

"I am over here Kylee. You're kinda amazing. I am not dead though I promise!" Marcey called out in response, and then stood awkwardly back turned to the pair she had just been talking to. Her last comment stung in her mouth as she struggled to remain standing. The silent buzzed.

John laid awake in the seemingly massive bed, waiting for his dorm-mate to show. He was curious, as to who he would be spending his time with. The day had been, well, it had been quite a day. This was a lot for John to take in, the existence of the mystics, and their presence at the school. He wondered if they knew anything about where he came from, not that he'd be telling anyone, but sometimes people just, know. The dead silence in the room was uncomfortable.

After a few minutes, John couldn't take it anymore. He made his way to the window, quickly scaling down the building. Once he reached ground level and made his way out behind the school, he could see the fire was still going, dimly, but it was still going. John decided to make his way down, but remain in silence, so he wouldn't be seen. It took him a few minutes, as he hung close to the treeline, making sure to be completely silent on his way there.

"I am over here Kylee. You're kinda amazing. I am not dead though I promise!" Marcy called out, as though who she was talking to was not nearby. John could see Duncan, Marcy, and Kyra. He watched, wondering what they were speaking of. From what John could hear, they had gotten lost. John checked his chest pocket in his jacket. 2 flares. He likes flares, they came in handy much more often than one would think. He quickly made his way about halfway to the school, climbed up a fairly large oak tree, and lit the flare, hoping that the crew of them would recognize the pathway back to the school. John did his best to remain hidden, hoping that they wouldn't see him, and mistake his kindness for weakness.

Kyra Rye Shade

"Marcey?" Marcey spun around. "I am over here Kylee. You're kinda amazing. I am not dead though I promise!" Marcey called out in response. Kyra glanced at Marcey, sensing that there was something wrong with the girl. "Are you okay?" Kyra was going to step away from the girl when she saw the struggle it took for Marcey to remain standing. She lunged forward and then stopped, her hands inches from Marcey. "Umm..." She looked at Duncan, a pained expression on her face. "I suggest you help her." She stepped away, and into the woods, feeling like a very bad person for not being able to help Marcey. That was when she smelled it and saw the light.

Kyra couldn't help it. Her curiosity got the better of her. She tracked it halfway to the school, and found herself in a predicament with herself. Her quarry turned out to be John, and he hadn't seen or heard her yet. She was also torn between continuing her 'hunt' and just ignoring him... He did almost killed her earlier.. This would be payback. Kyra shifted into her tiger form, and went into a crouch.

She silently moved around the tree, feeling her instincts take control.... She launched herself up the tree, and tackled John from behind causing them both to fall out of the tree. Kyra's teeth were bared as she growled, her claws digging lightly into his shoulders, and it would have been so easy to kill him... she jumped off and shifted into her human form... Her shoulders were shaking, and it took her awhile to realize she was laughing...

John noticed Kyra fall after walking into a tree as he made his way to his room. He noticed a small crowd slowly making their way around her, she seemed to be laughing, loudly, and hysterically. He approached slowly, and made his way through the crowd. Some left the moment he arrived, as though something was spooking them.

"You ok?" He asked plainly, studying the crowd. Movement, near the forested area, down the path leading to the school. Something was up, someone was watching them. Black cloak, large hood, couldn't see his face. This was a problem, one that would need to be handled immediately. Cleric.

"Get up, make a scene" he whispered to her as he picked her up off the ground and began making his way to the forested area, making sure that the cleric wouldn't see him. He hadn't been seen yet, once he made it to the woods he would be fine. He began making his way to him, making sure not to make any noise, as he drew his hood and removed his shortblade from his bag. he got close, close enough to see he was not alone. three in total, They would kill him in a fair fight, he prayed someone else would be able to help him. He crossed himself, and whispered a prayer. "Quinirus, grant me the strength to do what is necessary" He didn't pray often, but this was a necessary situation.

Marcey

The morning came gently, scooping Marcey softly into it's grasp and carrying her into a new day. She slid off of her bunk and grabbed her journal, barely making a sound. She quickly pulled on her black tank top and slipped on her black converse. Grabbing her bag, she put the journal in her bag. She made her exit gently, hiding in the shadows as to keep her escape a secret. She ran down the hall as fast as she could, loving the feel of wind in her hair. She wanted to get outside, running was the one way she could get all of these emotions out without hurting herself. She walked onto the front lawn, and realized that the sun hadn't even come up yet. She turned around and noticed a guy sitting on the roof. She hoped he didn't see her as she escaped into the woods. Without even slowing down, she was off. She ran as fast as she could through the mangled trees, jumping over fallen limbs and small bushes. She kept running until the light of the early morning bent between the trees.

She ran until she slowed down for breath, and realized she was crying. She stopped beside of a lake, and stared at her reflection in the water. She hated water. It seemed that her entire life she had lived by bodies of water, and the concept of swimming was so alluring that she refused to give in. It was complicated. Then her uncle had tried drowning her in their pool. The idea of water was just a disaster in the making. She took off back up the trail she had just run on, tracing her way back to the school and away from the haunting memory. She ran upon the school and found a tiger with a man on it's back.

"Oh my gosh, what happened?" She ran up to them and waited for some sort of response. "I uh.. Nurse." She ran in front of the tiger toward the building, hoping to lead them the right way.

Kyra huffed, feeling boredom race through her along with something else. Her skin felt like it was on fire, like every inch was rubbed raw. Her heart began to race, and stars twinkled across her vision. She swayed, growling and lashing out with her claws she struck a wall and was able to keep herself from falling over. She waited for the moment to pass and it did, although her heart was still racing somewhat.

Glancing at Marcey, Kyra took off deeper in the nurse's ward, tracking John's scent. She wasn't worried or anything like that, just... curious. Being content to track John down silently, she heard the noise and walked into a room. John had his blades out, and was facing a woman in a blue suit. "If you're gonna kill her, at least make sure you don't get blood on the walls. Humans hate it when you do that." There was a teasing but also somewhat mocking light in her eyes as she watched the woman.

She wouldn't go so far as say John is a friend, but hey, you go through a fight with someone and you're... not exactly buddies but there would be a mutual respect. And so, it was obvious that when she looked at the woman in blue, she saw prey, enemy and that if John didn't like this woman, Kyra was willing to help get rid of the female human.

John walked into the deans office, fully expecting the worst.

She looked at him with a stern face. "What happened?"

"Clerics. There's a war coming to your school, whether you want to face it or not isn't my problem. However, I will fight. And I will lay down my life to keep these men from finding this place. If you were smart, you'd get the students who are incapable of combat out of here. NOW, because if you don't, this will be a slaughter, you don't know what these men are capable of. I do. That is all." John turned and walked out of her office, leaving her speechless.

As he left, he noticed Kyra in the office. He looked at her, and spoke softly. "Walk with me." He had noticed something was off with her in the past few days, but he didn't know what. All he knew, is that he needed her. She saved his life, that was more than anyone had ever done for him. He would need to fill her in on who they had just killed in the courtyard, and what would be coming within the next few days. This would be an all out war, and whether the dean would do it or not, he was getting non-combatants out of here. ASAP.

He would need to write a letter, he needed backup.

* Marcey *

"I didn't know if Humans went to a Vet or something else... I guessing, Nurses take care of human health problems?"

Marcey nodded hesitantly, embarrassed at having no experience with doctors or nurses herself. She smiled and quickly added, "I will come back and check on him later. Thank you for being there for him, I guess we aren't all monsters." Marcey laughed to herself and realized the mistake she had just made. Her face turned a bright pink and she turned around and walked away. Seriously? You are so awkward! She turned onto a long hallway and headed to her dorm. She stopped quickly by her room and grabbed her journal, pen, and ipod. She couldn't stand being alone with her thoughts. Her mom had always told her that thinking can kill someone. Marcey laughed at the irony and found herself at a window away from any people. Without hesitation, she lifted the seal and stepped out onto the edge of the roof, shimmying over to a little nook of roof. She loved the isolation. The breeze bit gently at her neck as she lifted her jacket to cover the revealed skin. She put her headphones in and started writing, the melodies escorting her story of the day onto her page. Soon though, she had lost her inspiration. She started worrying about the injured student. She really hoped she hadn't killed someone on her first full day. Tomorrow was the beginning, it hit her. She actually had classes. Stress flooded over her. Hopefully, she wouldn't embarrass herself as much as today.

Kyra glared, "So... that's it? No 'thank for for saving my life' or not even a... I don't know, what is it normal people do when someone saves their life?" She stared curiously at John before letting out a dramatic sigh. "So what do high and mighty dean have to say?" She turned and began walking, not even caring if John was able to keep up... but then again, she was tiny compared him and tiny people tend to have short legs...

Meanwhile, Kyra brother, Shrade was sneaking out of class. Class is almost over anyways, but it's just such a good thing no teachers ever look up. He was currently in his tiger form leaping from balcony to balcony of the dorms for creatures with wings. Using his tail like a lever he launched himself up to a higher point of school building and... Looks like... a human... Marcey? If cats could smile, he'd be grinning like a dog. He shook his head, that doesn't even make sense... Shrugging his tiger shoulders he began making his way to Marcey's little nook of roof and shifted into his human form. "You know for someone who has a habit of being a klutz, don't you think you're kind of asking for it when you're literally sitting on the edge?" Did that make sense? What is with me today? "Did that make sense?" He frowned, suddenly confused with himself and the situation.
